1. Introduction: Hello everyone, I'm uni
and into this class we'll drop a few watercolor
animal illustrations. These glass doesn't require any prior experience
or fancy tools. We'll start from
scratch and we'll be using simple techniques
throughout the process. Everything you'll see will
be happening in Procreate. However, if you
have other software or one to try
traditional materials, you are welcome to join if
you are ready to start, Let's jump right into it.
2. Preparing the Canvas & Making the Base Scheme: Let's start our today's
class by deciding what kind of Canvas we
are going to be using. You can see it is a very
simple square canvas because both pixel width and pixel
height are 80,048 big cells. If you would like to use
any other dimensions for your canvas, just go for it. S for DPI, we are using 300
and S for the color profile. It is set as SRGB
with this low number. When it's all done,
let's hit Done and it will be redirected
to our new canvas. And now we need to
decide what kind of colors we are going to be using throughout
the whole class. You can go to the
project and Erasmus app and you can download
the color palettes. You can follow along with this class by using
this color pallets. So when he did it,
Let's go strictly to our color palettes and we will check out what we have here. Here we have two options
of how we can use this color is the compact
view and the cards, we will be using
the cards because they have all the colors, names and they are ready
for you to be used. And while we're still here
into our color palettes, Let's select our first color. We'll go to the bottom and we will select the
background texture. Let's tap on this
color to select it. And when we have
our first color, we need to know what kind of brushes we are going
to be using today. And today we are creating semi
watercolor illustrations. We will need to use
watercolor brushes. You can go to the
description and you can find a link to every pack
of watercolor brushes. You can download it
and you can use it. And also, if you go to
the resources here, we can find a zip file where you can find
a few more brushes. Some of them are from this link, but they are adapted
to our today's needs. And also here we can find a few more brushes that will be suitable
for today's class. So when you have
downloaded everything, alleges go and start our class. We just selected our color. Let's go to the Brush
Library and we will go and find the brush with the
name fine paper texture. Let's tap on it to select. We will go to our
left top slider and we will make the size
of this brush as maximum. Now, we will go to our Canvas and we will
need to create a texture. We will need to do it without an holding our Apple Pencil. And we will need to
create this sector by going through the whole
size of our canvas. Let's go and try to do that. Now, if you zoom in, you will see that you
have some texture there. And we want this sector to be visible on all of our layers. So we will need to
adapt this layer. Let us go to the layers
and we will go to this layer number one where
we have added our texture. We will need to change
the blending modes. Blending modes are
different ways your lease can interact
with each other. With blending modes, you can add different visual effects. So to change the blending modes, we will need to go to this icon. We will need to tap
on it and we will see the list of blending modes. For now, we will need to
select a linear burn. When you have selected, you can tap on the layer and
we can go and straightaway, rename it as background texture. Let's tap on this layer and
let's select Rename also. We don't want to add
any more details to this layer and we don't want to accidentally draw
something here. So let's lock this layer. To lock the layer, we
will need to swipe it from right to left
and choose look. Now our layer is secure
and we are ready to create one more layer where we are going to be
creating our scheme. Scheme we will be using
for creating our animals. Let's tap on the plus icon
and we will need to put this layer underneath earlier with the background texture. So let's hold this layer when it is selected and we will just move it underneath the backgrounds extra
layer straightaway. Let's rename it as scheme
tapping on the layer, choosing Rename when we have this layer and when
it is selected, we will go back to our brush library and we
will select another brush. This time it will
be six B pencil. These brush you can
find in a zip folder. So let's stop on this
brush to select it. And when we did it,
we will go back to our color palettes and we will select the color for our lines. It will be the color
with the name of lines one, sadness to select. And let's go to our
slider on the top-left, and we will adjust its size. So we will go to the
slider and we will find 15% for the future convenience, we can tap on this little handle and we can secure these sites. So we will need to
tap on the plus icon. And when he did it, you
will see that you have a little mark once a
your little slider. And if you go and
tap on this mark, you will get back to your
size that you secure it. So now when we have our
brush the right size, and when we have our color, Let's go and create
our first shape. Our first shape for this game will be a very simple circle. We will do it by going
variables into our canvas. And without an holding, we will try to create the
shape as best as we can. Let's go and try to do that. At the end of the line, hold your Apple pencil
and you will see that you have snapped this shape to
a little bit better one. But still it is analysis and we need a perfectly
round circle. Without an holding
your Apple pencil, Let's tap on the screen and hold one of our fingers there. You can see that you snapped your shape to a
perfectly round circle. And if you move your Apple
pencil from side to side, you will notice that you are adjusting the size
of your elements. For now. Let's leave it as something
not too big, not too small. And when you're satisfied
with error, even here, let just on hold everything that we are
holding right now. So now we have a
perfect outline and perfect base for our
facial features. But we need to adjust
this whole thing. We will go to the arrow key on exoplanets and we
will tap on it. By doing so, you invoke
the panel on the bottom, and probably by default, you will go under
uniform methods. With a uniform methods, you have this bounding
box with some nodes. And if we go to the blue ones, we can tweak them and we can adjust the size of our elements. If we go to the
green one and if we move our Apple
Pencil circularly, you will say that you are
rotating your object, but it's not what we need to do. We want to adjust
the shape even more and we want to create a
different shape from it. We will need to go under work. Let's tap on it and you can see that we still have
this bounding box, but also we have some
intersection inside of it. And that means that we
can go to any place here inside this bounding
box and we can tweak it to adjust our sheep. So firstly, let's
start from the bottom. We will go to the
nodes on the right. We will hold our
Apple pencil on it. We will move it to the right. You can see that we are
adjusting our shape. So when you have
something like that, Let's hold our Apple pencil
and let's do the same thing. On the other side. Go into this bottom left
nodes and we are moving, it's more to the left. Let's try to make this
equal on both sides. And when you have
something like that, we will need to squeeze this
shape just a little bit. So we're going to get
soap and we are going into the middle part
on this top line. Let's hold our Apple pencil there and we will move it down. If you want to adjust
your shape in any way, you can do that. The last thing that we will
do here is go into our adsorb and we will move our notes a little bit
toward the center. We will go to the right one. Firstly, we will hold it and we will move
it to the center. So when we have
something like that, Let's do the same
on the other side, we will grab our notes and we will move it
toward the center. When you have
something like that, we are ready to move on and we are ready to add more
elements to our scheme. So firstly, let's
deselect everything by hitting our heirarchy
one more time. And now we need to find
the center of the shape. We don't need to
be very precise. We need to find the
approximate center and we will do it very easily. We will go firstly and
create one vertical line, and then we will create
one horizontal line. And we need to position
them the way they, they will go through the
center of our shape. Firstly, let's go and try to
create this vertical line. Go into the job and creating this line at the
end on the line, hold your Apple pencil to
snap it to a better shape. And if you weren't too much
precise, we can go to that. So up to Edit Shape and we
can move this line. So e.g. let's move it a little
bit to the right to make it more going
through the center. When you're satisfied with
the position of this line, tap on the screen with
one of your fingers. And now we need to
create one more line, but this time it will
need to go horizontally. So let's go and do that. At the end of the line. Hold your Apple Pencil. And if you need go to
Edit shape or that soap, move this line
toward the center. If you need to adjust the angle, you can do to one of the nodes
and you can tweak it here. So when you're satisfied
with your lines, Let's tap on the screen
with one of our fingers. Let's make the shape
a little bit smaller. So we are getting back
to our arrow key. We are using uniform
method right now. So let's tap on it and let's
go to the top right corner. We will grab our notes and we
will move diagonally down. When you hand this
size as something that you see right now
on your screen, Let's move this shape a
little bit to the left. So we're just holding our Apple Pencil and we are
moving it's to the left. When you have
something like that, Let's deselect everything
by hitting our arrow key. And when we have
positioned our scheme, we will need to add
a few more details. So firstly, let's zoom in our canvas and let's
find these intersection. From this intersection,
we will create two diagonal lines going up and they will
be at 45 degrees. So firstly, let's
go over our left. Let's find this intersection
and let's create the line. You don't need to
be very precise. Just try to keep
something 45 degrees. At the end of the line. Hold your Apple pencil and
create the battle line. Now when you're satisfied
with the position on this line and hold
your Apple pencil, and let's move on over r, right? And we will try to
repeat it there. Go into our intersection
and creating this line, hold it at the end and try to keep this same
angle that we have on our left when
you're satisfied with the position and
hold your Apple pencil. And now we will need
to put two more dots. We will be adding them
to the horizontal line. We need to find the
center of this area. So let's go and put the
first mark on the left. When you have it on the left, we will need to repeat
it on the right. So finding the approximate
center of these sites. When we have
something like that, we are ready with our scheme. Now let's go to our
layers and we will create one more layer
with the same scheme. So to make a duplicate, we will need to
go to this layer. With this scheme. It is selected right now and we will need to swipe it
from right to left. We are choosing Duplicate. Now we have this same
scheme on the same place, and we will need to move it
a little bit to the right. So let's select this
layer on the top, we will go to our arrow
key and to make sure that we are putting our second
scheme on the same line, we will need to go to snap
in and we will need to turn on Snapping right here
into this little panel. Now, if you move your elements, you will see that you
have some lights. And when we have
these three lines that are going horizontally, we will be sure
that we are putting our second shape on the same line that we
have our previous shape. So now whether you're
satisfied with that, Let's deselect everything
by hitting our arrow key. Now when we have
these two schemes, ledgers go to our layers and we will clean
everything up here. Firstly, we will go to our
skin layer on the bottom, which is our first scheme, and we will make a duplicate. So to make a duplicate, you will need to
swipe the layer from right to left and
choose Duplicate. Now when we have this second
scheme on the same place, where I go into the
bottom layer and we will rename it as scheme base. So let's tap on the
layer and choose Rename. We will secure this
layer for later. So now we can just hide it. Let's go to this little checkbox on the right and
we will tap on it, and we will do the same with
our rest of the layers. We will get entry, name them. Firstly, it go into this
middle layer with this scheme. We will tap on it and
we will choose Rename. Let's go with the
name scheme lion. When we have renamed this layer, Let's go to the top one, tapping on it, choosing Rename, and we will choose
the name scheme dog. We don't need this layer
right now, so let's hide it. Let's go to this little
checkbox and let's tap on it and we will get back to our
layer with this scheme line. Let's select it and we will
need to do one more thing. We will need to change the
opacity level of this layer. To change the opacity level means that you will
make this scheme, this illustration, this layer, a little bit more transparent. We still want to see what's
happening onto this layer, but we don't want it
to be very bright, because when it's bright, it will be hard for us to
create the clean lines because we can see
where our lines are. Now let's go to this layer. Let's go to the N icon and we will find the opacity slider. You can see that we
have the handle here. We can grab it and we
can move it to the left. Now your scheme is looking
more transparent and plan just leave the opacity level at something like 50 per cent. When we've changed the
opacity of earlier, we are ready to create
one more layer above. So when this layer with a
scheme line is selected, let's hit the plus
icon straight away. Let's rename it as clean lights tapping on the
layer and choose rename. And now let's select both of these layers that clean
lines and this scheme line. And we will put them in the group for our
future convenience. Now, our layer with a
clean lines is selected. We will need to go
underneath this layer and we will need to swap this
layer from left to right. Now when two on this layers
are selected where I go into the top-right and we are
choosing group for convenience. Let's rename it as lion. We go into this group, we are tapping on it
and choosing Rename. Now let's get back to R
allele with a clean lines. Let's select it and
we will need to do a few more
preparations today. We are going to be
using a symmetry tool and we will need to turn it on. So let's go to our wrench icon. We will go under Canvas and we will need to
toggle drawing guide. When you did it, you
will see that you have some cells going through the
whole shape of your canvas. It is not what we need. We need as symmetry. So we will need to adjust
our drawing guide, edit drawing guide
into this little menu. And you will see that we have
the panel on the bottom. We will need to go
under symmetry. When you choose symmetry, you will see that you have this line then going from
the top to the bottom, this line has two notes, one on the bottom,
which is great. We'll rotate your line
and one in the middle, which is blue, we'll
move your line. So we will need to grab
this blue nodes and we will need to put it right in
the middle of our scheme. Firstly, let's zoom
in our Canvas. Let's grab this node and we
will put it in the middle. When we did it, we are
ready to hit Done. Alright, so pride, and
we will be starting to create our clean lines to make sure that we
did everything right, we need to do one more thing. We will go back to our layers and we will need
to make sure that our layer with a clean lines
is now called assisted. If it's not, we will
need to tap on the layer and we will need to choose
Drawing Assist from the list. And now when all the
preparations are done, in the next part,
we will be creating the clean lines
for our alliance.
3. Making Lion's Outlines: Let's start this part by adjusting our brush
just a little bit. Firstly, we go into our
icon with them, rush, we will happen it
and we will find our six B pencil brush. Let's tap on it and we will
go inside the brush studio. On the left. We will need to go
under stabilization and we will be changing the
amount of destabilization. What does it mean, e.g. let's say that we don't have
any stabilization at all. We will go to the drawing pad and we will try
to create a line. Here. You can see that it is
quite a decent client, but it is not as smooth
as we want it to be. We want all of our lines to
be as smooth as possible. And that means that we don't
need these jagged line. If we go very slowly
with our line without any amount
of stabilization, it will be even more jackets. So we will need to
change the amount of stabilization ledgers
go to this slider. Let's grab this handle and
let's move it to 65 per cent. And one more time,
let's use with the drawing pad and let's
try to create another line. You can see that now
it's very flowy. It's very easy to create this
line and it's not jagged. It's smooth as we want it to be. When we said this amount at 65%, let's hit Done and
we are ready to start adding our
very clean lights. So let's zoom in
our Canvas and we will go to the top left corner, will be recreating
our main line that we have for the main
shape of the hat. And we will be doing manually. We will be creating something
on one side and it will be automatically appearing
on the other side because we are using symmetry. Now we will need to go to one of the intersections and we will
need to start from there. We will need to follow our natural flow on
the hand because this way our line will be more smooth and it will be
easier for us to create it. So whether you are a right-handed
or left-handed matters. Now, let us find out what
hands you are using. And if you are a right-handed, go for the intersection
with the horizontal line. If you are left-handed, it will be easier for you to start from the top intersection. So let's just go
and we will create this line at the
end of the line. Hold your Apple
pencil and make sure that you are making
this line very smooth. So you can move your
Apple pencil from side-to-side to find
what works for you. You don't need to think on
these lines as some pieces. We need the whole
thing to look solid. So it should be a smooth line. If you have some
don't like that, It's not quite what
we need to do. We need to make a
very soft connection here to play around find
what works for you. If you need to go a little
bit beyond this line of symmetry to the other
side, just go for it. If you have some
little pieces that you will need to adjust later, you can always grab an
eraser tool and erase them. So let's just play around and find what is working for us. If it's not working
from the first try, we can always undo that and we can always do
it one more time. So I just tried
out one more time. When you have this soft
and solid connection, Let's hold our Apple Pencil and we will do this same
thing on the bottom. Again when I go into
this intersection, whether you are a right-handed or left-handed, you choose. And we will need to
create this line. So let's just go and try
out to create it there. Hold your Apple pencil
if you need to, and make this very
soft connection. When it is done, Let's
unfold everything and let check out whether everything
is looking quite nice. So we will go back to our
layers and we will go to our layer with this scheme and we will just hide
it for a second. So go into our scheme
line layer and we will go to this little
checkbox and we will tap on it. If everything is
solid, it's alright. If you need to adjust
something, ledgers, grab an eraser to erase all the pieces that
we don't need. Or if we need to adjust
something with our brush, Let's just go and do that. When everything is looking nice. Let's get back our
layer with this scheme. So we are going
back to earlier and we are tapping on this
little check box. And we will continue by
adding some details. Firstly, let's try
by aiding the ears. Let's go to this line
on any site and we will be creating half of the Alps
or half of the circle here, we will use this
line as a guide. If you don't like the
position of the ear, you can move your ear a
little bit to the sides. So let's just go and
create this shape here. At the end of the line. You can hold your Apple
pencil and you can snap it to a better shape if you need
to adjust it even more, go to the top to edit shape. Here you will have some nodes
and you can tweak them. So just grab this nodes and move it to the site
if you need to. When you're satisfied
with how this looks like, just tap on the screen
with one of our fingers. Let's make sure that
our lines are closed and that means that we don't
need to have any gaps. It will help us later on when we are going to be
agents and colors. So if you have
something like that, some gaps like here, you will need to go and
manually redo that. We will need to add
the line here too. So let's go and do that. Try to make it
accurately and try to keep the same
size of the brush. When we are ready, let's go and add the
inner part of the ears. So we will go inside the ear and we will create
a peculiar shape. We will start by creating
a shape like that. It has half of the olives
or something like that. When you have this first shape, we will create a
few more of them. So just a recreating
this line and going down when you have
something like that, Let's continue by creating
one more line like that. And when we have it, we're just continuing by going
to this line. And we, I haven't
these peculiar shape when we have our ears done, Let's go and create the mean. We will go firstly to this soap and we will
start from the ear, will be going with
the lines like that. You can adjust the amounts of these curves and make sure
that you don't have any gaps. Everything needs
to be very solid. You can play around
with the curves. You can play around with
these intersections. It's all up to you. When we have this
main on the top, Let's go over the whole
shape of our face and we will add this same
things there as well. So let's go to our left and we will start from the ear here. We are going a little bit above the ear and we are starting
creating these little curves, a jazz they're announced
play with the curvature. It's all up to you. Try to make the lines solid. When we have
something like that, Let's add some details to this meet and we will be
adding just the lines here. So we are going into
the soap and we are starting to create
the lines like that. You need to follow the
direction of this little curve. So if you go with a landslide, that it won't look quite good. So just imagine that direction where your curve is looking. So you can help yourself by creating a little
arrow like that. And you can go to every
single piece of the main and you can start by
creating these little arrow. And that way you will know where you need to
put your lines too. Play around with the
distance on this lines. And when you're satisfied with how they are looking at the top, Let's move on to our bottom part and we will
do the same thing here. Again, you can help yourself by stars and creating
these little arrows. Just follow the direction
and create this line inside the main by following
these little arrows. And when you are
done with this task, let's just grab our
eraser tool and we will erase all
these little arrows. And now our main
shape is almost done. We just need to add
the facial features. So let's again grab our
brush and we will start by going to this little
parts that we made here. So we will go and start
by adding the eyes. We can go and adjust
the size of our brush, or we can just go and create
an outline of the circle. Let's go and try to do that. You can play around with
the size of the eye. If you want to create a
perfectly round circle, you know what you need to do. You will need to hold one of
your fingers on the screen. You can adjust the
size by moving your Apple pencil
from side-to-side. And when you're satisfied
with the size and hold ARAF in and let's go inside this
little shape of our eye. And manually, we will
recolor this inner parts. Now when we have the ice, Let's go and add a little nose and we will do to
these intersection. So we are starting
on the same line, on the line that we
have horizontally. And we will go a
little bit above it. And we will start by
creating a line like that. When you have this line, we will go underneath
it and we will add a little half of the circle. Actually not a half
of the circle, but a quarter because we will automatically added
on the other side. So let's go and try to do that. You can play around with
these little corners and make them a little bit
more soft. Go for it. And if you are satisfied
with how it looks, let just go underneath our nose and we will add
a little mouth here. We are starting right
from the bottom part of the nose and we are creating half of the circle on one side. So let's just go and
do these things. You can hold your
Apple pencil at the end of the line as always. And if you need to
adjust it even more, go to the top to Edit Shape, play around with
this little nodes. And when you're satisfied, alleged just tap on the screen with one of our fingers and we are done with adding lines
to our first illustration. In the next part, we will be
trying to put our colors.
4. Brush Pressure Exercise: Before starting
our coloring part, we will need to do
some preparation. Firstly, we will need to turn off our drawing
guide at Wiggins. Do it by going to
this wrench icon. We will go under Canvas and we will toggle
drawing guide here. But to be honest, it's
not enough if we just get back to our canvas and
if we create a line here, it will be mirroring
on the other side. So we will need to
do one more thing. We are going back to
our layers and we are finding our layer
with a clean lights. You can see now it is
assisted and if we tap on it, we can find drawing assist in the list and we
can select it here and everything
will be fine if we just get back to our
canvas and create a line, everything will be the
way we need it to be. The second thing that
we will need to do before starting our
coloring part is to learn how to use this watercolor brush because
it is quite a tricky thing. Lenses firstly, go
and grab this brush. So we will tap on the brush icon and we will go inside
the brush library. We will select the brush with a superstar brush, update it. It is the same brush
that you can find underneath the link
in the description, but it is a little bit updated. Some settings where
it's weeks and it will serve us better
alone our class. So let's select
this brush and let me show you what
I mean by tricky. When we are using
watercolor brushes, we are creating some layers. So if we go without and
holding our Apple pencil, we will create a layer of paint. If we hold our Apple Pencil and if we start creating
the lines over it, we will create another layer. And it's not what we need. We want our first layer to be solid and we want it to be
with one layer of paint. So we will need to
learn how to do that without an holding
our Apple Pencil. And also these brush is very
sensitive to the pressure. So if you go and start creating the line
with low pressure, you will be creating
a very thin line. But if you press a
little bit harder, you will be creating
a very thick line. It is how we are
going to be using it. We will need to learn how
to use the pressure and how to use our brush without an
holding the Apple pencil. So if you go back
to the resources, you can find a file here. It is called exercise. Let's just go and download it. You can see that we
have some figures here. Some of them are simpler, some of them are
more complicated, and we will need to go and add one layer of paint
inside of them. So let's just have
this layer and let's create one more
layer underneath it. So we will go and tap on
the plus icon and we will grab this layer and put it
underneath our exercise. If you want, you can select
both of these layers and you can group them for
the future convenience. So now let us go to this layer eight underneath our exercise, let's go back to our color palettes and let's select any color that you want. If you don't want to select
any colors from this palette, you can go to the
disk and you can select any color that you want. So e.g. let's go with very contrast color,
something blue, end when we have the
color ledgers go to our shapes and we will start adding the
color inside of that. Let's start with
something very simple. So e.g. this little thing get on the top-left will
be okay for us. Let us set our sights
on the brush at 15 per cent and
we will go inside the shape and we
will start to press on our Apple pencil with
a very low pressure. You can see that we are
starting by creating a very thin line and we need
to learn how to navigate it. If we push a little bit harder, you will see that the
size of the brush is starting to look a
little bit more big. And we will need to go alone the whole shape of our
little finger here. And we will need to recolor
it with one stroke. It's okay. If you're doing a little bit
beyond the frames, you can always go and grab an eraser tool and
erase them here. All you need to remember
that when you are started to push to
your Apple pencil, you can't lift it up. You will need to recolor everything with
just one stroke and with one layer when you are
ready with the first thing, let's just go to
our second figure and we will start to do
the same thing here. So lets just grab our
brush and we will start by going inside this shape
with a very low pressure. We will make a little
safe place here. So we will start from
a very hard thing. We will go along
the sides and we will be creating
another outline. So when you are present
to your Apple pencil, you are not allowed
to lift it up. Yes, create the outline
and then you will very boldly go inside this
shape and recolor it. If it's not happening
from the first try, nothing to worry about. Try it one more time when we are done with
our second shape, Let's move on to this
triangular one and we will continue doing the
same thing as before. We will continue
exploring our brush. So let's go inside
this shape with a very low pressure and we
will create another outline. Try to move in
different directions. So you will learn how
to use this brush even better if it's not happening
from the first try, you know what you need to do. You are learning
and you will need to be patient starts
all over again. It will be hard
at the beginning, but when you go for
all of these shapes, you will master this skill. And it will be not a
very hard task for you to recover any shape
with one stroke. When we are done with
a triangular shape, Let's move on to these
complicated one. And the tip here
is that you need to see the whole shape, e.g. if you zoom in your
shape like that, you won't be able to recolor this part on the bottom
and this part on the top. And that means that
you will need to go there, zoom it in, and you will need to
create another stroke, and it will create
another layer. And you will have this not
very pretty thing here. So we will need to see
the whole shape ledgers, zoom it very accurately
and we will go inside the shape and we
will start recoloring it. You can start by making the outline or if
it's easier for you, you can just go and recolor everything straight
from the beginning. You also can plan ahead and start from the more
complicated parts, such as this small parts on
the shape we just recolored. You'll be more concentrated from the beginning
and it will be easier to go with
one stroke till the end and you will
be less anxious. So now let's go over
the rest of the shapes and z1 layer of paints to them. Remember not to
lift your pencil. Remember that you need to see the whole shape and
remember to be patient. Try out different pressure and different directions starts from the harder parts
or leave them till the ants find what
works for you. And when you are done
with this exercise, let's move on to our
color and parts.
5. Coloriong the Lion: Let's get back to
our lion and we will firstly go and change
the color of our brush. So we are going
back to our colors. We are going back to the
pallets on the bottom, on the right, and
we are selecting the color with the
name lion base one. When we have our color, Let's get back to our
layers and we will need to create one more layer
for our color and part. We are going inside
of our group with a line and we are going to
the layer with the skin. Let's tap on it. And here we will tap on the
plus icon straightaway. Let's rename it as colors. While we're still
here into our layers. Let's hide our layer with this scheme because we
don't need it anymore. So we are going to
this layer and we are tapping on this little chat box. Make sure that you are on
the layer with the colors. And let's get back
to our Canvas. We will go to the shape of our face and we will recolor it. We are using the same
brush as before. Superstar brush updates it. We are going inside this shape and without an holding
our Apple pencil, we will add one
layer of the paints. Let's go and try to do that. Avoid the nose. We will recover it with
a different color. When you are done
with this task, we will go to the ears and we will recolor the outer part. Let's go and do that when you are ready
with the first one. Let's move on to the other one and do the same thing here, ends when you are done. Let's get back to
our color palettes and we will select
a different color. This time, it will
be a lion mate. Let's tap on it and let go over the main parts and the
inner parts of the ears. And we will do the
same thing here, will recolor it
without an holding our Apple Pencil and we will
add just one layer of paint. You can play around
with the size of your brush and find
what works for you if you already did something or if you went just a little
bit beyond the frames, don't worry, we can fix
everything with the smudge tool. The smudge tool is the second
icon on the top right, we will tap on it and we will
need to choose the brush. This time we will be
using blending watch. You can find this brush in the same folder that you have
downloaded from the link. When we have this brush, Let's just go over these
places that we want to adjust and we
will blend them. And now when we
cleans everything up, let us get back to our brush. We will get back to the color
palettes and we will select the same color that
we used before for our main shape of the hats. So it will be lie and base one. Let's tap on this
color to select it. And when the scholar with
the same brush will go along the edges of our hat and we will be creating
another outline. So let's go and add this
second layer of paint. You can play around
with how thick you want this line to be and
when you're satisfied, Let's hold our Apple Pencil. Let's grab our smudge brush and let's merge it
just a little bit. We will blend it
and you can always choose how much you
want to blend things. If you want to have some
edges of this brush, you can go for it. You can use different
techniques of blending, but mostly lenses Gill from
the center to the edges. You can see that we already
have some volume and that means that we are ready to add another layer of paint. We can do it with
the same color, or we can go back to our color palettes and
select another color. So e.g. let's this time
choose lie in base two. And again, we will do the
same thing as before. We will go alone RHS and we will create another
layer of the paint. Play around with the size
of this brush stroke. And when you are ready, let's grab our smudge tool
one more time and let's merge these things two ends when we
have the volume like that, Let's start adding the
texture of the watercolor. So one more time where I
get them back to our brush, we are going back to
our color palettes. And again, we will select
lion base one color. Let's tap on it to select
and we will go and create another outline these
centroids to be more accurate because we
will leave this line, we won't smudge it. When you have
something like that, you can do along this line
and maybe add more details. E.g. you can go and add
some random brushstrokes. Just go along the shape and try to use the same direction. When you are done with adding the details
with this color. Let's get back to our
color palettes and we will select the next color
lie in base two. We will go a little
bit closer to our ages and we will
create another outline. So let's go and do that. And again, the same
way as before, we can add some details. So let's go and add some lines, maybe some doors splatter, everything that you want. You can always zoom
in and zoom out your Canvas to see your
picture from the distance. When you are done
with this color, Let's go back to
our color palettes and we will select
the next color, which is lie in base three. This color, we will
go even closer to our edges and we will
create another outline, add some details with
these color as well. Now let's get to
our ears and let's add a few leaves of
paint here as well. When you are done
with this task, let's get back to our
color palettes and we will select the color with
the name lion me. With this color, we
will go alone our main and we will add
another stroke here. So again, we are going
closer to the edges. Let's go over the
job and we will add the color to the
boards and parts. With this color, you can go
and add more in details. So e.g. you can separate
some parts from one another or just add more
details with this color. As always, if you
already did something or if you want to
soften some places, grab your smudge tool and
go over these places. Now let's get back to our
brush and we will add the second layer of color to
the inner part of the ears. If you want to add
more details in the inner parts of the
ears, just go for it. If you want to soften something, just grab your
smudge tool and do that when you are done
with everything here, Let's grab an eraser it so we will need to set
a different brush. So let's tap on
the eraser and we will select Eraser
and white blue. It is in the same folder that you have downloaded
from the link. When we have this
brush for our eraser, We will go over
the top-right part and we will cut a
little piece here. So when you have
something like that, Let's grab our smudge tool and we will soften
this little piece. Now we have a little highlights. And if you want to highlight
it a little bit more, you can do the same
thing one more time. So grabbing the eraser, gotten a little piece, grabbing our smudge brush and smudge on it until
it blends perfectly. Now when we have
something like that, Let's get back to our brush, and let's get back to
our color palettes. We will select the color
with the name cheeks. With this color,
we will firstly go inside the nose and we
will recolor this area. Let's add a few layers of
paint here to make it more bright and with the same color
and with the same brush. Let's go underneath the eyes and we will add the cheeks here. So just with one brush stroke, when you hand the
cheek on one side, Let's do the same
on the other side. If you want to add
more color to it, or if you want to add some
details with this color, just go for it. Smudge if, if you need to, and when you are ready, we will need to do
one more thing. So now we have this illustration and we
have the white background. But what if we would like to go and change the background? So e.g. let's go to our layers. Let's go to our
background color layer. And let's set this last
color in the last row. You can see that we
have some places over r elements
that we have here, and they are pink too. So we will need to
do one more thing. We will need to get
back to our layers. We will need to go
underneath our layer with the color and we will
need to create one more layer. Let's tap on the layer
with this scheme, and we will tap on the plus icon to create a new layer above it, we can rename this
layer as white. What we need to do, we will be adding the color
underneath our picture. So we will do it in that way. We will go to our layer
with a clean lines. We will select it
and we will go to this S ribbon icon
over the top left, you can see we have a
little panel on the Watson. We will need to select
automatic option. With the automatic option, we will go to any place, not only on to our animal here, so to any free space and we
will tap onto our screen. You can see that
we have selected everything except our lion, but we will need to
invert it because we want our selection to be only
ones that are aligned. So we go into the bottom panel and we are choosing invert. You can see that now
we have the selection on the lion and we will
need to do the following. We will go to our layers, and we will go to our
layer with the white. We will need to go back to our color palettes and we will need to select
a white color. We don't have it in the palette. So we will go to the disk and we will select the white
color from here. When we have it, we
will need to have some solid brush. So e.g. let's go to the
calligraphy folder and we will choose
monoline brush. Let's increase the size
of it and we will go alone or shape of the line and we will
add the color here, make sure that you have
recolored everything here and ledgers Gill and
deselect everything by hitting R S ribbon icon. Now, if you get back
to your layers, you will see that you have this outline with
the color inside, and it will save us from the changing of the
background color. So e.g. if we didn't have it, we will be dealing with this. If you would like to add some dark color to
the background, we will be having this and it's not what we need if we just get back to our layers and if
we turn on our white layer, you will have this solid
picture of your little line. You can see that I forgot to
recolor this little piece so we can grab our
white-collar one more time and manually
recolor it here. Now let's get back our previous
color for the background. So we are going
back to the layers, go into the background color and selecting the last
color in the last row. And we are almost done with
our first illustration. The very last thing
that we will add will be little
highlights in the eyes. Getting back to our layers
and go into the clean lines layer with the same white color and with the same
monoline brush, we will decrease the
size of the brush and we will go inside our eyes. Firstly, let's start
from the left one. We will go over the
top part and we will add a little dot here when
we have it in one eye. Let's move on to the other side, and let's do the
same thing here. So we will try to put
it on the same line and we will try to keep the same
distance from the edge. And when you did it, We are done with our
first illustration. In the next part, we
will be creating a doc.
6. Making Dog's Outlines: Let's start our
second illustration from some tiny preparations. So firstly, we are going
back to our layers and we will go to our
group with the line. So let's tap on the title lion and we will collapse this group. I go into this V icon
near the checkbox. Let's tap on it. When we have everything
cleaned up here, let just get back
to earlier with this scheme dog and
we will unhide it. To unhide the layer, we will need to get back to this little checkbox and
we will need to tap on it. When it appeared
on to our Canvas. We will need to go and change the opacity level of this layer. We know how to do that. We will need to go to this icon. We are finding the
opacity slider and we are grabbing it and moving
it toward the left. Let's leave it at 50 per cent. When we have it, Let's just tap on the layer and
when it is selected, we will go and adjust
it a little bit. So we will use the
transform tool, which is our heirarchy. On the top-left, we will tap on it and we will
go inside work. We will go to the
top and we will grab the middle part and we will make the shape a little
bit more elongated. So we are holding
our Apple pencil there and we are moving
it a little bit up. When you have
something like that, Let's deselect everything by hitting our arrow
key one more time. When we did it, we will
need to go back to our layers and we will need to create one more layer above. So let just tap on the plus
icon and straightaway, Let's rename this
layer as glean lights, tapping on the layer
and choosing rename while we're still
here into our layers, Let's select both of these
layers and we will group them. Let's tap on this new group
and let's rename it as dark. Now getting back
to our layer with a clean lines and we will need
to set our guiding lines. So when this layer is selected, we are going to arrange
I can over the top-left, we are going into the canvas and we are toggling
drawing guides. Let's go inside
Edit Drawing Guide. We're arguing
inside the symmetry and we will need to
move this line that we have in the middle
part of our lines to the middle part
of our new scheme. So lets just grab
this blue nodes and we will move it
toward the right, put it in the center, and when you are ready, let's hit Done over
the top-right. Now let's make sure that
our new layer is assisted. To do so, we will need to
get back to our layers. We will go to this clean
lines layer and you can see that it is not assisted. We can turn it on manually. So let's just tap
on it and let's choose Drawing Assist
from the list. Now, everything that we will be drawing onto this layer will be mirrored on the other side when they have everything here, ledgers get back to our
brush that we used before. It is six B pencil. Let's adjust the
size of it to 15%. We have this little mark
on our little slider here. Let's grab the same color
that we used before. So going back to our
color palettes and we are selecting the color
within the lines one. Now let's zoom in our Canvas. Do this little quarter
on the top-left, and we will do the
same thing as before. We will start by
creating a line here. Just go to the intersection
that you lack, that it's easier for you. And let's create this line. You can hold your
Apple pencil at the end of the line to
snap it to a better shape. And also you need to pay attention to this
top connection. You need to make it solid and you will need to
make it very smooth. So when you have
something like that, Let's continue by going
to this intersection. We will make something
different here. We will create a little dance. So let just start
from this part. Let's make a little mark here and we will go
and we will create a little smooth line here
that will be going inside. So let's just do
something like that. When you have this little dance, Let's continue making the
line as it is on our sketch. Make a smooth connection. And let's go to
this dance and we will adjust it
just a little bit. Let's make it very
smooth as well. So if you have
something like that, alleges go and create
another very smooth curve. And we will connect this
part with our top part. So let's firstly grab our eraser tool and erase
everything that we don't need, and then we'll
adjust these parts. You've created this smooth
curve one more time. Grab an eraser tool and erase everything
that you don't need. And when we have our base
ledgers go and add the ears, we will be going to our
little lines that we have at 45 degrees and we will
be doing these ears, Elizabeth, differently
from the ones that we had on our land. So firstly, let just
up a little bit aside from this line that
we have at 45 degree. And we will just go and create a little line like
that when you have it, we will need to make a very smooth corner and then we will continue
aging the line and go in alone the whole
shape like that and create a little ear by going
along the whole shape. If it's easier for you, you can start by creating
a little ellipse like that and then connect it with the
whole shape of our body. Let's grab an eraser
tool and we will erase this inner line
that we don't need. If you need to
adjust some lines, you know what you need to do, you will need to get back to
your brush and adjust them. Ledgers make very smooth
connection between our shapes. And when we have
something like that, we are ready to go and
add the facial features. So one more time we are going to these little dots that we
have on to our scheme. And we will start by creating
an ellipse for an I. So let's just go
and try to do that. As always, you can vary the size of it and you
can vary the placement, make it a perfectly round
circle by holding one of your fingers on the
screen and holding your Apple pencil at
the end of the line. Manually recolor the inner part. When we have the eyes, let's go and add a little nose and we will do the
same way as before. So go into this intersection
that we have right here. And we will start by
creating a line like that. When we have it, we
are moving down and we are creating a
very soft triangle. Play with the size of
the nose if you want to. And then when we are
ready with the nose, let's create a little mouth. So we are going to the
bottom on the nose and we are creating half
of the circle here. As always, you can hold your Apple pencil at the
end of the line and you can play with this little mouth if you want to adjust it
even more, go to that. So up to Edit Shape when you're satisfied with
everything here, ledgers do one more thing. We will get back to our layers. We will hide our LEA
with this scheme dog. So go in there, go into this little checkbox
and tapping on it. And also we don't really need these assisted
drawing anymore. So getting back to
our clean lines, tapping on the layer,
choosing Drawing Assist. And also we will
be able to arrange icon and we will toggle
drawing guide here. Now when we are free to
draw whatever we want, ledgers go to one
side where we have the eye and we will create
a little spot here. So let's just go and create a wobbly shaped
around the eye when you are done with this task and when all your lines
aren't closed, we are ready to move on
to the coloring parts.
7. Coloring the Dog: Let's start this part by going to our layers
and we will need to create one more layer underneath our layer
with the clean lines. So let's go to the layer
with the skimmed milk. We will select it
and we will tap on the plus icon from
here straightaway, Let's rename it as colors. And while we're still here
into our layers panel, let's create one more
layer and we will put it underneath our colors and who will fill it
with white color. So let's again go to
earlier with a scheme dog. We will tap on the plus
icon and straight away, we will rename it as whites. And let's add this white
color to this layer. So we will need to
do the following. We will need to go to R
allele with a clean lines. We will need to
select it and we will need to go to our S ribbon icon, which is our selection. So on the bottom panel, we will need to select
automatic selection. Let's go somewhere outside of our dog and we will
tap on the screen. When everything except
our dog is selected, we are going back to our bottom panel and we
are choosing invert. When our dog is selected, we are getting back
to the layers. We are go into our
layer with the whites, we go into our color
palettes and to the disk and we are selecting
the white color from here. Now, let's get back to the Brush Library and we will go to the
calligraphy folder, the calligraphy folder, we
will choose monoline brush. With this monoline brush, we will increase its size
and we will go along the whole shape of our dog
and we will recolor it. And when we did it
allege us go to our S ribbon icon and
we will tap on it one more time to
deselect everything. Now we are getting
back to our layers and we will go to our
layer with colors. We will do firstly
for our brush, and we will use the
same brush as before. Superstar brush updated
when they have them brush, we are going back to our
color palettes and we will select the color with
the name dog base, one. With this color,
we will go inside the shape of the
head of our dog, and we will add one
layer of paint here. Let's go and do that. When we did it, we will
go and change the brush. So let's go inside
and brush library, and we will select
the brush with the name Dark Age watercolor. Let's tap on it to select, and we will do the same thing
as we did with our line. We will go along the
edges and we will add another layer of paint
with the same color. So let's go and try to do that. When you're satisfied
with this theme, ledgers, grab our smudge tool and
let's match the edges. When we have
something like that, when it is smooth, we will get back to our brush. We will go back to
our color palettes and we will select
a different color. This time, it will
be dog base two. With this color, we will do
the same thing as before. We will go along the
edges and we will create another
outline here as well. Try to make it accurate
this time, if you want, you can grab this much tool and smudge the edges
just a little bit. Now with the same color, we will go a little
bit closer to our ages and we will create
another layer of beat. We have an example
on our lion and we will need to do something
similar here onto our duck. So let's just go
closer to the edges and we will create
another layer of paint. You can start going along
these lines and you can add more additional lines
by adding some texture. And when we have
something like that, alleges go and change
the color of our brush. So we are going back to the
color palettes and we are selecting the color
with the name dog ears. And we will do the
same thing as before, but with our ears and we
this little spot on the eye. So firstly, let us get
back to our brush, which was superstar
brush updates it and we will add the first layer
of paint with this brush. When you did it with
the same color, we will go and
change the brush to the Dark Age watercolor
one more time. We will go and add some
details here. So e.g. let's start from the ears and we will add some shadows here, but we will need to
decide which side we will be aging our
shadows too. So e.g. if you go to the
left ear and if you start to add the shadows
on the left side, you will need to continue adding the shadows
on the left side, on the right ear as well. So let just go and start aging this second layer of
paint on the ears, grandness much stool and smudge the edges
just a little bit. If you want to add one
more layer of paint, go for it and also add
some details here. Let's add another layer of paint to the sport
on this little eye. And also we will add some
details here as well. And when we have
something like that, allege us get back to
our color palettes. We will select the color
with the name cheeks. Let's add the color on the nose. And also we will add
this little cheeks the same way as we did
it onto our line. When you are done
with the nose legit, increase the size of our brush
and we will go underneath the ice and we will start by adding their first
cheek on the right, play with the saturation
and add as many layers of paint as you like when you are done with
the cheek on the right. Let's move on over the left and let's do the
same thing here. And the last thing
that we will add here will be the highlights
in the eyes. Firstly, let's get back
to our brush library. Let's go into the
calligraphy folder and we will choose
monoline brush, adjust its size on the left. And when we, I've done ledgers, get back to the colors and
let's select the white color. Now we will need to get back
to our layers and we will go to our clean lines
layer, wanted this layer, we will zoom in our Canvas to
their first I on the left, and we will put the first dot here when we have
it on one side. Let's move on to
the opposite eye and we will do this
same thing here. Try to put the highlights
on the same line. When we did it, we are ready with our second illustration. In the next part, we
will be creating a cat.
8. Making Fox's Outlines: Alright, let's start
our third illustration by going to the layers. And firstly, we will collapse
our group with the dog. So let's select it and let's hit this V icon near the checkbox. And while we're still here, let's hide both of these groups. So I go in firstly
to R group with a dog and we are going
into this little checkbox. Let's tap on it and we will
do the same with our line. And when we have
the blank canvas, Let's go back to our
scheme base layer and we will make a copy of it. So when this layer is selected, we are swiping and
from right to left and we are choosing Duplicate. Now let's unhide this layer and we will rename
it as scheme Fox. Now let's go to our icon and we will adjust
the opacity level. So let's just go to
this little handle on the opacity slider and let's move it toward
the left side until we reach 50 per cent. When we have it, we are
ready to adjust our scheme. When this layer is selected, I go into the transform tool, which is the arrow
key on the top-left. And we argue and
inside the work here, we will go to the sites
and we will make them a little bit elongated along
the horizontal axis. So firstly, let's go
over there, right side, we will go to the middle
part and we will drag this little thing to the
right when we have it here, ledgers go on the opposite side and we will do the
same thing here. Go into the middle part and dragging it's more to the left. Tried to make it
equal on both sides. And when you're satisfied, let just move the whole shape a little bit toward the center. So we are getting back
to the uniform method and we are just moving
it toward the center. Now when we have this shape, alleges go and find
our drawing assist. So we are tapping on the arrow key to deselect everything, and we are going back to our layers to create
a new layer here. Let's just tap on the plus icon and we will rename
it as clean lights. Let's select both
of these layers and we will create
a group of them. So swiping the layer from lefts and rights and choosing group, Let's rename this group as fox. Now getting back to our
layer with a clean lines and then we will need to
turn on Drawing Assist. So we go into the wrench icon, go inside the canvas and
toggling drawing guides. Now, let us go to
Edit Drawing Guide. We will go into symmetry
and we will move this line that we have for this symmetry to the center of our scheme. Let's just grab this blue nodes and we will move our line, put it to the center. And when you are ready ledgers
he'd done over the top. Now let's make sure that
our layer is assisted. So we are getting back to our layers and we
are making sure that we have a little title
underneath the green lines, which is saying assisted
when it's all done, alleges get back to our brush. It is six B pencil, it is at 15%. And we are going back to the
color palettes and we are selecting the same color as
we used before, lines one. When we have the color, we are ready to
zoom in our Canvas. And again, we're arguing
to the top left corner. So here, let just start
the same way as before. We are creating a
line here that will recreate the line that
we have on our sketch. Go to one of the intersections and start creating this line. You can hold it at the end and snap it to a better one and make sure that this
intersection between two sides are equal
and it is smooth. When you are ready
with this task, ledgers go to the bottom. And firstly, we will go
to this intersection and we will be making
a little snout here. So we will go a little
bit from the top. So let's just make
a little mark. When we are here
making the mark, we are ready to create the elongated line and
we will go to the left. So let's create the
line like that. When you have this little curve, we will make a little loop here. When you have
something like that, we will need to
create another curve the same way as before, but it will be a
little bit smaller. When you have it, you can create another one or you can continue adjusting the line
going down and combining the whole
thing on the bottom, make a smooth connection
on the boards. And when you are done, alleges go and add this
little snot elements. So we will go to
these intersection and we will create a
line going in that way. Again, make this
move connection. And when you are done, Let's continue by agent
our facial features. If it's not working
from the first try or if you think that these
things on the bottom, the whole snout elements must be looking a
little bit different. Try out one more time, play around with the
curvature and when you're satisfied ledgers
grab an eraser tool and we will erase this
line that we don't need. Now when we have the
base for the fees, Let's go and add the ears. So we are going to these lines
that we have on its own. And we will start by
creating a curve there. Let's make a little
mark on the top. And from this mark, we will go and create
a very rounded curve. You can hold your
Apple pencil at the end of the line to
create a better line. And when you have this curve, Let's go to the bottom and we will create the
opposite curve there. So it will be just mirrored
on the other sex play with the size and with the
curvature and makes sure that the whole
ear is closed. So all the lines have no gaps. So when we have the
base on the ear, let's work on the details
inside of the ear. Firstly, we will go to these intersection and we will
create a curve going down. When you have
something like that, Let's add the fluffy
part inside the ear. So we will just stop
a little bit aside from this new line
that we just created. And we will start by creating
the curve like that. When you have
something like that, Let's continue agent
these little loops going around our shape and we will
end up on the WhatsApp. If you want to add more details, you are welcome to do it. Let's just grab the eraser
tool and we will erase all the lines that we don't
need if you have them. When you're satisfied,
when everything is clean. Let's continue by agent
our facial features. So firstly, let's
go and add the I. We will go to the left side. We will go to this little
mark that we have. And we will start by
creating a circle here. Play with the size
and the position, and hold one of your fingers
on the screen to snap your shape to a perfectly round circle when you have the sheep, when you're satisfied
with how it looks, let just go inside
of it and let's manually recolor
this inner parts. When you are done with the eyes, Let's move on to the nose. So we are going through this
intersection that we have in the middle and we will go underneath our line
for this little snout. And again, we are starting by
creating a line like that, play with the size of it. And when you are done, ledgers go and create
a very soft triangle, work on the corners and
make them very soft. Now let's go underneath our nose and let's add
a little mouth here. So we are going into
one of the sides and we are creating half
of the circle here. Play with the size here as well. Hold your Apple pencil
at the end of the line. And if you need to adjust
the shape even more, go to Edit shape or the top, find what works for you. And when you are done, we are ready with our sketch. So in the next part, we will be adding the coloring.
9. Coloring the Fox: Let's start this part from
some tiny preparations. Firstly, let's turn
off our guiding line. We will go to the Wrench icon, we will go to the
Drawing Guide and we will toggle the
drawing guide here. You remember that
it is not enough. We will need to go back
to the layers and we will need to tap onto our layer
with the clean lines, which is as I said right now. And we will need to turn on
drawing assist from here. So go into this
little list and we are selecting drawing
assist from the list. Now while we're still
here into our layers, Let's go and create one more
layer for our coloring part, and we will put it underneath our layer with the clean lines. So firstly, ledgers go
to the scheme Fox layer. And while we're still here
when this layer is selected, Let's just go and hide it. When we have it, lead us hit the plus icon and we will
rename the layer as colors. When we have the
layer for our colors, let's create one more
layer for the whites. So one more time, go into
our layer with this scheme, folks, and we are tapping
on the plus icon. Let's rename it as whites. Now we are going back to our
layer with a clean lines. We go into our S ribbon icon, which is our selection. So we are using
automatic selection. Let's tap on some very free area that we have on our Canvas. That won't be our
little fox here. When it is selected, we are going back to the bottom panel and we
are choosing invert. When our fox is selected, we are going back to our
layer with the whites and we are going to the brush library to their calligraphy folder, and we are choosing
mono line brush. Let's increase its size
and let's go back to the color palettes to the disk and we will
select the white color. With this white color, we will go alone are
sheep over the forks and we will recolor it when
everything is recolored. Let's tab on our S ribbon icon one more time to
deselect everything. We will get back to our layers and two earlier with the colors. Now let's get back to
the Brush Library and we will go and grab our
brush that we used before. It will be superstar brush
updates it with this brush, we are getting back to
our color palettes, go into the Palettes folder and selecting folks base
color with this color, we are going inside of our
folks and we are going to the top part here we will add this orange color just
with one layer of paint. Let's go and very
quickly do that. If you weren't a little
bit beyond the frames, just grab an eraser tool
and fix these places. Let's add the same color to the outer part of our ears
and to the inner parts. So let's go and do that. Now let's get back to the Brush Library and we
will select another brush. So it will be dark
age watercolor. And we will do the same
thing as we did before. We will go to the
edges and we will start adding the second
layer of our Pete, Let's go and do that. When you have added the
second layer on this side, alleges grab our smudge
tool and let's merge it. When you did it and when
you cleans everything up, everything extra with
an eraser to allege us, get back to our
brush and we will continue aging these
layers of our paints. So go into the edges and
stars into add these layers, cladogram, this match tool, and let's merge it
just a little bit. We want to see
these little edges. Let's continue with our brush by going even closer to the edges. And let's add one
more layer of paint. Smudge it if you need to, and start adding some details by creating some lines
and maybe some dots. When you are done working
on the main shape, ledgers go to art, so part onto our ears and
let's add some details here. Now let's grab our eraser tool and let's erase all the
things that we don't meet when we edit our
textures and little shadows. Let's go and add a
little highlights. So we will go to
one of the sides. So e.g. the top-right part, we will cut a little piece
here with our eraser brush. Now when we did it, Let's get back to our
smudge tool and we will smudge it and blend it
until it looks quite okay. If you want to add a
brighter highlights, you can do it one more time. And now let's continue
by aging the texture and the color to the bottom part and through the inner
part of the ears. So firstly, we are getting
back to our color palettes and let's select the color with
the name dog base, one. With this color,
we will firstly go to our brush library
and we will select a different brush
the same way as before, superstar brush updated. With this brush, we will
go to the bottom part and we will add one
layer of paint here. Let's do the same with the
inner parts of the ears. When it's done, we are getting back to our brush library and we selected the brush with
the main Dark Age watercolor, and we will repeat the same
thing as we did on the top. So let's just go to this site and we will add
some shadows here. When the first layer is done, Let's grab our smudge
brush and let's merge it. Now getting back to our
brush one more time and we are adding the
second layer of paint. Let's grab this much through and let's merge it
just a little bit. Now getting back to our
brush and go in closer to the edges and adding
more layers of paint. And again starts and adding some details and
maybe some dots. When we are done with
the base on the bottom, alleges go and change the brush. So we are going back
to the Brush Library and we're selecting
superstar brush, updated with this brush, we are getting back to the
color palettes and we are selecting the color
folks ears cat details. Let's tap on and says Select. And we will go to
the inner parts of our ears and we will recolor them with one layer of paint. If you want a brighter result, you can add another
layer of paint here, or as many layers as you'd like with the same color and
with the same brush, we will go through the
nose and we will recover. It's too. If you want to add more details
or more layers of paint, you can get back to the
brush that we used before, dark edge watercolor
and do it with it. Also, if you want to add more details on the
top or on the snout, you can go back to
the color palettes and select another color. So e.g. it could be folks
based to wear this color. You can go and add more details. Now let us get back
to our color palettes and we will select the color
with the name cheeks to, we will go underneath the ice
and we will add our cheeks. But before starting alleges
go and change the brush. It will be a superstar. Brush, updates it one more time. Now with this brush
and with this color, we are going underneath
the eyes and we are aging. Our cheeks. Play around with the size and with the contrast
of these elements. And when you are done, ledgers go and add
the highlights. So firstly, let us get back
to our color palettes. We will go to the
disk and we will select the white color
when it is done. When I get them back
to the brush library, I go into the calligraphy folder and we are choosing
mono line brush. Let's decrease the size of it. And we will go to the layer with our clean lines and we will
add our highlights there. So firstly, go into the
left one and we are creating the highlight here
when you have it on one eye, let's move on to the
opposite one and let's repeat the same step here, trying to put it
on the same line. When we did it, we are ready
with our third illustration. So in the next part, we will be creating a cat.
10. Making Cat's Outlines: Let's start I cat illustration
by going to the layers. Firstly, we will collapse
the group with the fox. So I go into this group, we are selecting
it and we go into this little v icon
near the chat box. Let's tap on it. When we did it, we
will need to make one more copy of our
scheme base layer. So let's select this layer. Let's swipe it from
right to left and we will choose duplicates
straightaway. Let's rename it as scheme cat. Let's unhide it by going
to this little checkbox. We will tap on it and we will change the opacity
level of this layer. So I go into the n icon and
we are changing capacity to 50 per cent when we have
it's alleged as go to the Transform tool and we will move our scheme to their rights. So when this layer is selected, we are getting back
to our arrow key. On the top-left. We are using uniform
method and we are just dragging our
scheme to the right. When you've positioned
at ledgers go to Warp and we will adjust our
skin just a little bit. We will do the same thing
as we did with our folks. So we are going into the
middle part of this sides and we are dragging this
side more to the sides. So firstly, let us go to
the right and we will go to the middle part of this bounding box and we will
drag it more to the right. When you have
something like that, Let's just go over our left side and we will
do the same thing here. Go into the middle part and
dragging it more to the left, try to adjust them
evenly on both sides. And if you need to move your
shape more to the right or more to the left to have some
space for your lining part. Just go to the uniform
method and adjust the position when you're
satisfied with everything here, lie just tap on our heirarchy one more time to
deselect everything. When we have that allege us
go and create one more layer. So we go into our layers. We are tapping on the plus icon. Let's rename it as clean lights. And while we're still
here into our layers, Let's select both of these
layers and let's group them. We will rename the
group as cats. Now getting back to our clean lines layer and we will need to set
our drawing guides. So when this layer is selected, we are going to the wrench icon, we are going into
Canvas and we are. So Glenn drawing
guides, when we did it, we are going into
Edit Drawing Guide. We're arguing in the
symmetry and we will need to move our
line to the right. We will need to position
it right in the center. So let's just go to
our blue nodes and we will move it to the right and we will position
it in the center. When you did it allege
us he'd done over that. So let's make sure that
our layer is assisted. So we will go back to our layers and we will
make sure that we have the little title assisted year are clean lines
when it is set, alleges go and grab our brush
the same way as before. It is six B pencil and we will
select a different color. So again, it will be lines one. Let's tap on this to
select and we will zoom in our Canvas to the
top-left quarter. Let's go to one of
the intersections and let's start
creating our line, hold it at the end, make a smooth connection. And when you are done, ledgers go and adjust
our bottom part. Remember how we did the dog? We will be creating
a depth here, but this time the agenda
will be a little bit bigger. So let's just go over these intersection and we will start a little
bit above it. Let's just make a little
mark just going from here. And we will create
a little dent here. So jazz creating a
curve and we are connecting it with the line that we will be
created on the bottom. So when you have
the dent like that, Let's go to the bottom and we will continue
making the line, make a smooth connection. And ledgers go to these little things right
here and we will soften it. We will create another curves when we have
something like that, ledgers grab our eraser tool and we will erase all the
lines that we don't need. When we are done with
the base ledgers, give it to our lives
that we have at 45-degree and we will start eating the ears the same way as we did
with our folks, but this time, let's make
them a little bit smaller. So firstly, let us go to one of the sides and let's make
a little mark here. From here, we will
create the first curve. You can hold your Apple pencil
at the end of the line. And when you have
this first curve, let us go down and
we will mirror it. When you have
something like that, Let's just go and
add the inner part. So firstly, when I go into these intersection
and we will go and create another curve going down when you have
something like that led, just add this inner
part that we have here. So let's just go and start by creating a very easy
curve like that. When you have it's alleged, just make a little
loop and we will make a few more
loops by going down. When you are done, let's make sure that our shape is closed. If it's not, we will very easily go with our brush and close it. And also we will
grab an eraser tool and erase every line
that we don't meet. When we are done with our ears, ledgers go and add
our facial features. So firstly, we go into this little marks that
we have right here, and we will start by aging the first circle,
adjust the size. A jazz deposition, hold
one of your fingers on the screen to snap to a
perfectly round shape. And when you're satisfied, ledgers go inside
and we will recover these parts when
you are ready with the eyes alleges go to this intersection in the middle and we will start
agent our nose. So again, we are going
a little bit above our horizontal line and we are
aiding the line like that. When you have it,
Let's go down and we will create a
very soft triangle. When you are done, ledgers go underneath it and we will add our
little Smiley mouth, go into one of the sides and create and half of the circle. Hold your Apple pencil to adjust the size and adjust
the curvature. If you need to adjust it even more goat over
the top to Edit Shape. And when you are
done with this task, let just go and add some
details to the head. So we will go and
add some stripes. Firstly, let's go over
the medial part of the tube and we will create
the first curve here, make a smooth connection
and adjust the size of it. When you are done,
Let's go over one of the sites and we will add
the same stripes here. Start by creating just
one curve and when you have it go to the other
side and try to mirror it, you can add as many
stripes as you like. Let's go over the whole shape and we will add a
few more of them. Vary the size and the
distance between them. And when you are ready
with these tribes, we are done with
our clean lines. So in the next part, we
will be adding the colors.
11. Coloring the Cat: Let's start our coloring part from some tiny preparations. So firstly, we will
go back to our layers and we will turn on
the assisted drawing. So let's tap on our layer with a clean lines and let's select Drawing Assist from the list. Also, we will go back to our orange icon and we will toggle drawing
guide here as well. Now getting back to
our layers and let's hide our layer with
this scheme cat. So I go into this
little checkbox and we are tapping on it. Now for the coloring part, we will need to
create another layer. Let's go to earlier
with the scheme cat. Let's tap on the plus
icon and straightaway, Let's rename it as colors. When we have our
layer with colors, we will need one more
layer with whites. So one more time, go
into our skin cat layer, selecting it and here
tapping on the plus icon, Let's rename it as whites. Now let's get back to
earlier with a clean lines. We will select it and we will
go to our S ribbon icon. We are using the
automatic selection and we are tapping outside our cat when we have it
allege us get back to our boss and panel and
we will choose invert. When the cat is selected, we are getting back
to our layers, go into the layer with whites, go into our brush library, go into the calligraphy folder
and choose monoline brush. Let's adjust its size
and let's get back to our color palettes to the disk and we will
select white color. With the white color
we are going along the whole shape of our cat and we will recover it
with white color. When you are done, Let's deselect everything by hitting R S ribbon
icon one more time. And now let us get
back to our layers. Let's go to the
layer with colors. When it is selected, we are getting back
to our brush that we used before for one
layer of paint. It was superstar brush updated. When we have it, we are getting back to the
color palettes, go into the Palettes
folder and select him cat based one with this
color and with this brush, we will go along the shape of our head and we will add
this first layer of color. You can recolor this stripes to. And then you can just grab an eraser tool and
erase these places. When you are done
with this base, alleges go to the ears and we will add the color here as well. We will add it only on
to the inner parts. When we have recolored our base alleges Gill
and change the brush. So we are going back to the
Brush Library and we are selecting the brush with the
name Dark Age watercolor. Let's select it and you
know what we need to do. We will need to go and start
adding our little shadows. So I go in alone are ages and we are adding the next
layer of the color. So let us go and
do that when you are satisfied with the
size of this element, Let's grab our smudge
tool and let's merge it. And when we did it,
let us get back to the brush and let's
go alone, are edges. And let's create the
next layer of paint. Let's merge it
just a little bit. And when we are done, ledgers grab again our brush and let's create
another layer of paint. We are getting closer
to the edges and we are starting to add
some details here. Start adding some lines and
dots to add the texture. If you want to add more
details with a darker color, Let's get back to the
color palettes and we will select the color with
the name Cat base two. Let's go over our shape and
let's add more details. Let's add the second
layer of paint and some details to the
inner parts of the ears. Now let's grab our eraser tool and we will erase everything
that we don't meet. When it's cleaned up. Ledgers go inside this traps and we will erase this part two. When this is done, ledgers get back to
our color palettes and we will select
a different color. So it will be fox
ears and cat details. With this color, we will go to the stripes and to our ears insights and
we will add it here. But before that, let's just
get to the Brush Library and let's select our
superstar brush updated. With this brush,
we will go alone of these shapes and
we will recolor them. If you want a darker results. Alleges go all over our elements and let's add the second
layer of paint here. When we identify with this task, lead us change our brush to
the dark aged watercolor, and we will go and add some
details to these places. If you want, you can add
some lines, some dots. If you wanted to add some
texture with this brush, just go for it. If this brush is too bright, you can also go to
the bottom slider on the left and adjust the
opacity of this brush. If you want to add a
little highlight ledgers, grab our eraser tool and
let's go to one of the sides. So e.g. the same way as before. We will go to the soap. Alright, we will cut a little
piece here with our eraser, and then we'll grab
our smudge tool and we will blend
everything very finally, if you need a brighter results, you can do it one more time. So grab an eraser tool cut and little piece here
and then smudge it. When you are ready with
adding the highlights, allege us get back to
our color palettes and we will select the color
with the name cheeks. With this color, we will
add the color to the nose, to the inner parts of the ears, and also we will add the cheeks. So firstly, let us go and
add the color to the nose. We can get back to the
Brush Library and we can grab our superstar
brush updated, add as many layers of
paint as you want. If you want to make this
parts even brighter, you can get back to the
color palettes and select the color with the cheeks
to end with this color, you can add one layer of
paint over these elements. When we identify a
color in these places, alleges get back to our cheeks, color the first one, and we will go under the ice and we will add these cheeks. If you want to make
them brighter, you can always get back
to the color palettes and try out how it will look
with cheeks to color. And when we are done with
age and our cheeks lead, just go to the layer with our clean lines and we will add the highlights to the eyes. So firstly, allege us get
back to the color palettes to the disk and we will
select the white color. Then we'll get back
to the brush library. We will go to the
calligraphy folder and we will choose
monoline brush. Let's adjust its size and let's go firstly
to the left eye. We will put the first dot here when you have
it on one eye. Let's move on to
the opposite one, and let's try to put the
highlight there as well. We will put it at the same line. When you did it. We are
almost done with our class. They'll very last thing that
we will need to do is to position our animals
across the canvas. So let's just go to our layers. And firstly, we will collapse
our group with the cat. So when it is selected, when I go into this little v
icon and we will tap on it. Now let us go one by one. We will be selecting our groups and we will be going
to the Transform tool, and we will be finding the
different placement for them. So let's start with the cat, where our group is selected. We are getting back to this
arrow key on the top-left. We are using uniform
method and we are dragging our elements to the
place that you will like. So e.g. let's just drag it down. Find the position that works for you when you're satisfied. Let just deselect everything
by hitting our arrow key. Now going back to earlier selecting the next
group, it will be folks. And again, going back
to our arrow key, let's find the position
for this animal to. When you are done, Let's deselect everything
by hitting our arrow key. And now one more time, going back to our layers, Let's unhide our layer with
the line and with the dog. Let's select earlier
with the line. Let's get back to our
heirarchy uniform method ends. We are moving this
shape up one more time, deselecting everything by
hitting our heirarchy, going back to the list, selecting the group
with the dog, going back to the heirarchy and finding the right
position for the dog. Now, let's deselect everything, and this is the
end of the class. Remember that you
have this scheme that we've made at the
beginning of the class. With it you can
create other animals. Maybe you would want to
make a bear or a tiger, a hamster, or Eric Kuhn
or any other animal. Just adjust this scheme and draw your own animal using all the tools that
we explore today. Thank you for
watching this class. Leave a review if you liked it, and consider subscribing for more Kawhi videos in the future.
