Here’s a big tutorial on how to make individual stickers from a pack, how to save them & how to put them in GoodNotes.

Part 1 | A situation when the layers are not in a group

Here we have our lines, highlights and coloring on different layers, and we will need to merge everything in order to make individual stickers.

Firstly, we should go and hide our background layer because the final pictures should be on a transparent background, so we're free to use them anywhere we want.

When you hid the background, swipe with 3 fingers from the top to the bottom of your screen to invoke the Copy & Paste menu. Here, we need to choose Copy All.

After you did it, one more time swipe with 3 fingers from the top to the bottom and now select Paste into the Copy & Paste window.

You’ll have a new layer with a title “Inserted Image” in your Layers panel. Here we have all of our elements merged.

And now it’s time to make our individual stickers. When the “Inserted Image” layer is selected, we’ll go to the S-ribbon icon, which is our Selection tool. We’ll tap on Freehand method in the menu, and we’ll select our first illustration.

When you’re done with this task, we’ll need to invoke the Copy & Paste menu one more time.

So again, swiping down with three fingers. Firstly selecting Copy.

Then, one more time, swiping and selecting Paste.

If we go to the layers now, we’ll see that we have a new layer “From selection”. That’s our first illustration.

And to make our next steps a bit easier, let’s put all of our “original” layers – the separated lines, highlights, coloring, and everything that belongs to the original set – into a group.

So, select the layers by swiping them from left to right, and hit Group over the top right when you’re ready.

Now everything is nice and organized.

So let’s go and hide everything we don’t need: our group and the layer with “Inserted Image”.

And we have only our first picture on the screen. Let’s make sure it’s good to go.

Get the background back and check whether you have any bits and pieces you need to fix.

Erase all the elements you don't need.

And hide the background again when you’re ready.

Now let’s save our picture. And we have two options:

Save it from the document that’s open right now;
Make a separate document for each individual picture.

1 – To save it from this document, go to the Wrench icon > Share > PNG

And save it to the place that’s convenient to you, for example, to photos using an option Save Image.

2 – To make an individual document for each element, we should do the following:

Open the layers and tap on the layer with your individual sticker, from the drop-down select Copy.

Create a new canvas in your Gallery of any size you want (a default square one would be perfect).

Invoke the Copy & Paste menu by swiping 3 fingers down and select Paste.

Now you have your copied picture in a new document, and you can change its size if you want.

Use the Uniform method to save the proportions of your original picture.

When you’re done adjusting the size, get back to the layers and hide the background.

From here, similarly to the first option, go to the Wrench icon > Share > PNG.

Save it where you can find it.

And when the first picture is done, you’re ready to continue with the rest of them using the same technique.

Part 2 | A situation when the layers are in a group.

In that case, you don’t need to merge anything. All you need to do is to go to the layers and hide the groups you don’t need.

When it’s done, hide the background.

Save your picture either from this document, or make an individual canvas for every illustration,

Part 3 | How to add your sticker to GoodNotes

Go to the little star icon on the top, tap on it and go to your collections, select the existing collection or add a new one.

If you’re using your existing collection, tap on the title and go into Edit.

When we’re into this window where we can add new elements, we have two options from where to import the pictures. As we saved our pictures in photos, let’s go to Add Photos. If you saved them into a different place, use the option Import from.

Select the picture.

Now you have it into your collection.

Get back to your star icon, go to the collection, find your picture and add it to your page.
