1. Intro: Hello and welcome to this class. My name is Heidi and I will be giving due on the whole process to create the most beautiful galaxy skies using very easy techniques so you can feel the magic. When do we do to galaxies? We are going to be discussing how to mix the color, how to choose the color for a stunning galaxies in a promise to it will be better. Ec Just follow a step-by-step as I will be explaining it to do. I hope to have so much fun creating them. It is time to start our class. Let us start creating or galaxies telework. I see do in the next video. 2. Supplies: Let's take a look at the supplies we are going to be using. I have here two brushes, brushes into different sizes. It depends on the size of the paper you will be using. So you need to be aware of that. Using washi tape to fix my paper on this surface. I have my watercolor paper, 300 grams. This is a, A4 size and I just got that eating half. I will be making a half. Painting. For the watercolors. I have three colors in black, but ocean blue and cobalt blue. I also have the neon watercolors. These colors are super bright and we'll make the galaxy looks at really nice. But if you don't have watercolors, you can use watercolor markers in neon colors, or you can use the highlighters, new colors. They were pretty well. In any case issue don't have any Neil's watercolor or any news markets. You can use. Another shade of water, non normal watercolors. I have a white paint for the stats. Any mixing plan for the watercolors and for the status do if you have seen my other classes, I just this technique with a flat brush and a bamboo stick. You need water, of course, clean water to clean your brushes. Clean towel. For this class, you will need a spray bottle with clean water. It can be in any size. That is all the surplus we are going to be using in this class. And I will see you in the next video. 3. Galaxy 1 Part 1: Welcome to this class. I am fixing my paper on this surface where I will be working on. But I wanted to show you how I avoid fails with the washi tapes and the paper because sometimes it can get so glued to the paper that it can be broken. So I just take the washy tapes in the seaside me in, I just go with the washi tape on Tower or, or my onesie this case, the glue from the tape doesn't stick too much to the paper. And this is my fifth tip to you. If you went to avoid those horrible brakes on your paper. Copies head. Now that my fave paper is a fixed, Let's start creating or galaxy. For that where we're going to be starting with our biggest brush or biggest round brush. Then we are going to be painting the corners of the paper with my darkest color in this case is the black one. I just activate them my watercolors with a drop of water. And now I will start painting those corners with the black color. The idea here is to make the outside of the galaxy darker, in the middle of the galaxy, brighter with a neon watercolors. I'm just painting the gardeners with my black watercolor and trying to leave some white spaces between. Because I will be also using the Prussian blue and the cobalt blue as poet to create the darker sky. Before adding the neon watercolors. For this first layer, I want it to be Beidi fishing color. I didn't add too much water to my watercolors. I just added a drop of water so I can manage the watercolor on the paper. We will start with the darkest one, with the darkest color that we have in our palette. Then we will proceed to the other ones and then do the neons. But before that I will explain to you how to transit domain. They transition to those other corners. Just remember to have clean water near you so you can activate the watercolor if you need it. This, if the Burdash get too saturated with color, it will not transferred the color to the paper. As you may notice. When I think that we need to be intuitive in this step. And then we, when we feel that it is enough of this black watercolor, we can then go with the production blue, which is this case I'm doing here. And we are going to do the same, just letting some whitespaces. And remember why spaces are very important when you are painting. You can have depth injured painting. The production blue. And when you feel it is enough for you, then proceed with the cover blue. Letting those whitespaces will help you to create more dramatic effects. Under painting. I am just following the current. Like a river tried to do this. And where do you put the block before? Now? At the blue. And when you feel it this enough, then proceeded to use the cobalt blue, which I'm doing right now because I feel that the Prussian blue II was enough. Now I am adding the cobalt blue spacing. I think it will make the dramatic effect because now we're going to use or water spray to add the effect of mixing. We are going to be spraying the painting from above. That I do leave the space between the droplets of water and the paper. As you can see, I'm adding the water are spreading their painting from the coordinates and to the minute, but always from above and from the sides. So the colors start to move into mix together. And thus is the idea, when you feel it this enough water, please don't over to this because it can be messy. Income become moody. Just stop and do let it dry completely before adding the neon watercolors. In this case. 4. Galaxy 1 Part 2: Try to lead a couple of hours. The color gets really dry. Then we can proceed to do the next step. Now that my color is really dry, I let it for five hours to dry completely. Now I will be adding the neon watercolors for this. Using the pink knew whether colors in the yellow neon watercolor. I just activated it with Bertha. I always do that before using the watercolor. And it helped me to use the colors on the paper. I will add the pink neon watercolor on those spaces to create the cinematic effects of galaxies. You can look for galaxy skies on the Internet to get a more clear inspiration and to find the colors that you want to try on your galaxies. I am choosing pink and yellow because these two combinations, I like very much remembered to lead colored be very pigmented. So you need to add just a little of water to activate the watercolor. Now we're proceeding to the next color in this case is the yellow neon watercolor. And I will be adding this quarter to those places. I think either would be. We'll be doing a bit a nice effect due to the same which colors you are using. Then it's magic. You see that it is very important to let those whitespaces. Now as you can use very bright color on those whitespaces, or let it just white in some cases. Now, I will add some sprays with my button to let these two colors mix with other colors on this painting. Not over to this again, because it can make some, but mixing from some colors, then it is not so clean. Glad to move the colors then a little bit with the brush. Not too much, just little touches. And if you think that is too much water, then try to take these out with the color gets Leiden and do that either with more of pigment. We are going to be repeating this process of adding more color there. What do we need when we think we need more pigment? Because watercolors dry, the pigment becomes lighter. In this case, we went them to be very pigmented and very bright. Just let it dry. And then when you see it is writing very light, then just add a little more of pigment on those places. Do that with all the colors that you've chosen. Now add in some jello, my painting is not completely dry in this case, but it is not with us. When I added the water with a spray bottle, I let it rest in 15 minutes and then I start to add the pigment there where I thought it will be a good idea to do that. I am doing this with the new colors and I am doing this also with my watercolors, the flag and the blues that I had chosen. As you can see, this way, this will be creating them more dramatic and more that good effect of the sky at night. So the other colors, China with a bit more. I will be doing this process every 15 minutes and see, seeing how my painting is dry. And then I will add more colors. I think it's needed. You can do the same. And I will see that a little bit the video, because it's very repetitive. But you know, I didn't just letting this a little bit 15 minutes to dry and then I see how the code is drying. And if I think it needs more pigment, then I will add the color that needs more pigment on my painting without adding more water. Okay. So I would've see that the video right now and I would've gone back when we start painting this status. I did the process of researching the colors and then I let my paint in dry for about two hours. Now we can proceed to pay in the stats using the white paint. You can also use wash for this step. The flat brush, the bumper stick, and this is the way I do this task and do Guston. You can do as many stars are still wish because the sky is full of stars and they look so pretty. Try to control the water when you are diluting your white paint. Because the stats can become very light embedded doll and thus not what we're looking for. We want them to be very bright, very white. Those little star in every corner of the painting. Then let this dry to remove the washy tapes. Now, you can see it is pretty easy because we did the trick that I showed you at the beginning of the class. I hope you are using it because it's very helpful, at least for me because before I was always damaging my paper because they were she was too tight to the paper. Go very slowly. Don't rush. Because rush. Remove all the washy tapes. Then painting with B. My galaxy is look in so stunningly bright. I love this color, I love the mixing of this color. And I hope it has wonderful results in that you can see that this is very easy to paint galaxies and to make them very beautiful and inviting to look at. I hope that you can upload your image to the class project for this class. And I will see you in the next video. 5. Galaxy 2: Let's paint or next galaxy. And for this one I will be using in the watercolors. For the neon watercolor, I didn't use in orange, yellow, and green. This time we are going to be starting to prepare your paper before using the colors. Meaning I will be adding the water with my button spray on the paper and then I will be adding the colors. I would spray it from above the surface of the paper. This time, we're going to start from the meeting to the coordinators with the neon, whether corners. We want the colors to be very bright as always. Then watercolors, when they die, they become lighter. So we're going to repeat the process of layering the colors. The more variety in pigmented eye young, I didn't know the agreeing on those spaces. Making a space letting some whitespaces between the colors. So then when I add the darker colors, it made the contrast Betty, not disabled. Now I am adding the way it will be pup. Galaxy. Of course, you can use another change of colors. You can add more color, not only this force. The last color I am adding to the mix is the orange one. I didn't then in those spots, I think they will mix well together, especially with the yellow one. They didn't those white spaces around the corners, mostly. Because on those coordinates I will be adding the blue and the black. This guy, this guy becomes a night sky. Remember that when the colors dry, they become lighter. So we're going to do the process of adding more layers. I let the painting dry for 50 minutes. Again. My paper is still wet, but not too wet because I want this black and blue to be very pigmented. The contrast on the nice guy become very noticeable, as I was telling you, I didn't starting with the black watercolor. And I am adding this color, own the coordinates, they are the outer coordinates. And going inside my painting, The only thing I am doing here is wetting my brush with a little bit of water so I can use the watercolor. Does he seek my mixing pan? You can do the same so it is easier for you to move the color around. Painting, I am madison torches in the middle as well. So you can recreate the nice Kai. Be mindful about the spaces that you have to apply the colors. And remember to let those whitespaces. So you can hear in this step the British and blue and the cobalt blue as well. Now I would proceed with my smallest brush in water and then begin the production blue and adding it closer to the black. So I can do that. They get a big sedation of the colors until I can use the cobalt blue. As you can see, the new colors are getting a little. Light it. After I finish using all the blues and the black, I will let it dry for 15 minutes and then add another layer of this neon watercolors there where they think it needs this. Be better, gentle while adding in these new colors. Watercolor doesn't get to running under paper In mix to match with the other colors. I didn't finishing with the British and adding them on those spots, I think it will make sense. And now I will be adding the cobalt blue, which is my last color of the watercolors. The neon blue is almost nothing a bit. Adding the global blue or those spots rehabilitates this. This color here. Gently with the brush. Move the corners so they can touch together and makes it very nice and wet. Making the magic of watercolor. When you do have all the colors on the paper, then do you need it to lead this painting the dye for a little while? And then if you think do you need more to add more pigment, then you will do it on those places. Do think it will make sense. Now my painting is completely dry in, is really rich in pigments. So now I will proceed to do the status using the same thing with my flat brush, white paint and the bamboo stick domain the throat above. So they, they are very tiny stats, mostly on the darkest color so they can bob up on the painting. Remember to have control on the water, went to George diluting the white paint. So it doesn't become too running and you restart. We will blend into the colors on the paper that I do. Lead. Consistency, consistency on the white paint that this is not too heavy but not too runny. Just dry before you put the stars on the paper. And do we'd have perfect stars effect. And the mode tiny, the better. So for this very important that you use a flat brush. Now, as you can see, my painting is completely dry and I will proceed to paint or domain some stars. Make that effect of a beautiful galaxy, nice capital K. Now that reveal, we add building of the washy tapes. I hope joint using the technique I showed you in the galaxy, how to make the list, stick it to the paper so as you can peel them off bed easily into paper doesn't get damaged. I saw be awarded. Painting needs to be completely dry. You can remove the water. Easier. Galaxy is at lady NID am loving this colored, bright, brilliant colors. Here it is. I can wait to see what you create and please upload a joule IT project to the class project section for this class. I will see you in the next video. 6. BONUS: Galaxies Color Inspiration: In this part of the glass, I went to chat with you and know that types of color mixing that you can use to create your galaxies in a fun and easy way. Making those colors pop up the billion satisfy that. But I am using the same technique with US, with the reviews galaxies that we made together. And I just want to, to get you inspired with new colors and new type of mixing and those watercolors in this fish galaxy, they said like tuple nails. These are mini galaxies. So you can get the idea of how you can make the color mixing in this one, I started by wetting my paper with my brush. Using the technique with on width. I added the black watercolor, and then I started adding the yellow, the pink. Now I then add in the Prussian blue on those white spaces between the new colors. I want to show you different types of color chase that you can use. So you get the inspiration and you can get creative with your own creation of galaxies. As you can see here, my paintings already dry. I am just later in the color, so it becomes very bright and beautiful. Starting with the first one that we're the darkest. And now I am adding more pigment on those spots from neon watercolors. Let's maybe another one. This one, I am starting with the paper that I in adding black watercolor. As we did in our previous galaxies, I let the color sit on the paper for a couple of minutes and then I start adding the water, in this case with my spray bottle from above in front the coordinates, the block, move on the paper. Now, my paper is still wet and I, and adding the neon colors, starting with the green, then with the pink and the yellow. As you can see, the speed, the video speed up. Think I didn't paint it that fast. They just wanted to show you some new inspiration and ideas on how to can make galaxies. In this one, the last one, I then add in my colors, neon colors first in lending some whitespaces, and then I will add the black ones. My paper is wet in IAM. Those scholars of my paper gently moving the color around so they mix well together. Now I am adding the black of the gardeners and then going inside my painting, Living in seeds and then adding more pigment. So the galaxy becomes more brighter. As you can see it Here, it is completely dry and now I'm layering again the colors. You can see this is very easy to make this combination of colors and really getting a nice effect on galaxies. It's not complicated. You just need to be aware of the water control and so on. Now that all my painting, bright pigments in the DI, I am adding the little stars. You'll see the same thing as we did in our previous videos. Later. Why? Stats with my flat brush in the bamboo stick. Getting those little stars to shine. They all are different, but they all are very pretty. Now I am adding some white stats. Make got ACCC effect more magical. Lead to intuition. Guide you on this step. Use the colors as you wish. Now the review, they're going off, peeling off those washi tapes so we can see our masterpiece. So here it is. Then we, in this population median, I use all the techniques possible that I can share with you. And I had chatted with you in this class, and I hope you find them very useful in innovative and you can use them freely as you wish. In you feeling spider, please upload your glass project on the class project section for this class in a while, we still happy to comment and see do beautiful work. You can use in this work galaxies as backgrounds for your projects. For example, there for her lengthening. And they will make a very beautiful piece of art. This is it for this class, and I will see you in my next video. 7. Class project: For your class project, it is very easy. You just need to upload and show us, do two final pieces.
