About This Class

It's fantastic to have you on board for this motion graphics journey. We're gonna be diving headfirst into the world of After Effects - that's where the animation magic happens.

We will learn to animate videos in a minimalistic style. Very often it is also called a Dan Koe style on social media.

That's why I've crafted this course, to pull back the curtain and reveal the art and technique behind those compelling animations.

The best part? Not only will you be walking away with all the animation secrets up your sleeve, but we're also gonna make our very own animation together. It's like a DIY art project, but digital and...animated.

Ready to channel your inner animation guru? Let's kickstart our first lesson and set the wheels of creativity in motion!

1. Welcome: Hi. I'm Getz. It's fantastic to have you on board on this motion graphic journey. Ever come across those catch animated videos on your social field. So, guess what? I did. I wiped this course for you. We are going to be diving headfirst into the world of after ethics. That's where the animation magic happens. And for the cherry on top, we will dip our toast into premier pro to make those captions pop and dance. In the best part, we are also going to make our own animation together. It's like an art project, but digital and animated. Ready to channel your inner animation guru. 2. Voiceover: Voice over time. So let's say you have a script that you would like to animate. And I'm not going to pretend that I'm some kind of script writing genius, and I'm not going to teach you how to write scripts. But if you don't have a script that you would like to make an animation, you can use mine. The next step is to create a voice over recording, and there is more than one way to bake a cake. So in this case, to make a voiceover recording. If you can record a voiceover by yourself, that's amazing. Like you, and that's the best option. But me, I sound like a goat with a sore road, and I'm looking for another options, how I could record my voice voice overs. Even recording the quas is a big struggle for me. Hey, I have been stepping up its game lately, and I did a small research, and I found one website website which generates voice from the text, and it's quite good, actually. It's calls 11 labs. I like it. And It has a pre plan, which is limited, but it's quite enough to create something, and it's quite good. I would recommend it to you. So here I am into 11 labs. It looks like that. When you register, you have some kind of total quote, I think it's 10,000 symbols for per month to generate with free plan, something like that. You just choose the voice that you like, and you see there is a lot of voices. Those two that I like, it's Jack and Mark. So let's try Jack. I will copy and paste my script. Here it is and you just generate. It is generated. If I pres you're under 45, you are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion. But almost nobody thinks this way. People focus on money and forget about time. Everybody has the same amount of time each day. You can't buy more of it. It's the only thing in our lives that we can't reacquire once it's gone. Put your phone down and spend your time on important things. Not that bad for computer, right? So yeah, I like Jack Voiceover. I think I will create a few videos for social media in this voiceover. For now, we are going to use another one. If we want, we can test the mark. Let's generate. If you were under 45, you are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion. But almost nobody thinks this way. People focus on money and forget about time. Everybody has the same amount of time each day. You can't buy more of it. It's the only thing in our lives that we can't reacquire once it's gone. So put your phone down and spend your time on important things. This one sounds a little bit more like computer. I think if we would use this one, we would need to edit the pauses a little bit, pauses a little bit long for my liking. But those are good. If you want, you can just press this, download this to your computer, and that's it. I'm not sure about the license. It might require some attribution with free plan or something like that. I don't know. If you use it, check it by yourself, if you know better AI websites or something like that, feel free to share it with the students office class with me. But for now, I don't have anything better. So 11 labs, it is. Personally, I feel a big difference between computer generated voiceovers and the real artists, voiceover artists. And especially for the comedy videos. That feels there is a big gap between votes. For both videos where we tell the story or something like that. Computer generated voiceovers is okay. But for this video, I jumped into the fiber. I search for freelancer, which is the best for my budget, and guess what? I found someone. That freelancer just recorded the voiceover for this video, and we can listen for it. If you are under 45, you are a billionaire. And in this video, we are going to turn this voice over into an animated video. It's like turning the water into wine. So stay tuned. 3. Create The Composition: When you open after effects, you'll see this window. Simply hit new project. Once you do that, you'll have this view, and guess what? You can adjust it to your liking. You've got presets to change views. For example, if you click review, it looks different. Click Learn, and it adds tabs while removing others. Play around with it. Here you can find even more presets. I think we can choose standard and change it in the way that we like. If you want to customize further, drag and drop elements around, say bye to the info tab and preview. A line is very important. The audio one can hit the road too. We can keep properties, effects and presets tabs for now. But let's close library tab. Let's talk about saving your setup, go to Window workspace, save changes, or create a brand new workspace. I'd name mine something that makes sense like Belgia vertical for my vertical videos. Now we can create a new composition to make it vertical, choose a social media portrait preset. This will change our composition size to vertical ten 80 by 1920 pixels. Keep the duration to 30 seconds. That should be enough. Name your sequence in the way that it makes sense. I will name this one billionaire in time and press. Now, let's talk about audio. Just drag it on your timeline. You can find this audio file on projects and resources tab, adjust the work area to the length of your audio file. After effects have this knee shortcut, L L. Select your audio layer, click L two times, and it will show you a waveform of your audio and don't forget to save. After effects has a knack for crashing, so hit Control S every now and then. Save your files often, especially before starting work. It's good practice and a safer way to work. 4. Text as a Guideline: In my video creation process, the next step involves adding text. Think of it like a road science in a video. They guide me through the content. I'll show you how I do it. Let's start by listening to the first. If you are under 45, you are a billionaire. I'll place this one by clicking the T symbol and typing the text. It might not look perfect right away, but later, I will make sure it's all clean and ever free. If I need to cut the texts or make changes, I don't have to do it the hardware. I use a shortcut Shift Control D, which splits the text easily, helping me manage different parts. I'll change the next text do. You have 1 billion seconds to live. Next, I use the same shortcut to create a split. Since you already know how to do this, I'll fast forward the video to save you time. Scrolling through my videos timeline helps me see which parts is where. Make it super easy. I started doing this when making lyric videos. Well I didn't have to listen to the lyrics, but I could see them instead. Making changes and animations much simplier. Let's talk about changing the text. It's like editing a text in a regular world document. I can play around with different phones like Poppins, change sizes, colors, and even make all the letters capital. Centering the text and aligning layers can make everything look nearer and more organized. This covers pretty much all I want to tell you about the text in video editing. See you in the next lesson. 5. FX Console: Let's talk about one plug in that you probably need, everyone who works with after effects knows this. But if you are new, I would recommend to download this effect plugin. You can find it just basically on Google or any search engine search for video pilot effects console. It should be there. It's quite hard to find on bar side, somewhere in the blog. Yeah, it's hard to find that, but search engines finds that really quickly. I would recommend to scroll down and unload for your machine, or is it Apple or Windows? Let's unload it if you want to see the features or anything. It has the tutorial and more in depth stuff. But I will unload for Windows and I will install it on my computer. And one thing I think you need to close the after effects when you're installing it because it doesn't let me to agree. So I installed it, I can reopen my after effects. And now if I would like to add an effect, usually I go to effects and presets search for effect and I add it here. For example, if I would like to add a fill effect for some reason on a layer, I search for fill, I double click on it and I have fill effect which allows me to change the color of the layer. But now I don't need those effects and presets. I can press control space and I have this effects console which I can type fill enter. And that's way fast way to add effects. So I will do that on the later lessons. So I want you to be aware if you don't like it, you can go to effects and presets and add effects here, search effects here, and work in the way that you want. If you want to add Phil effect, you can go here, even search for it. For example, Phil, It's probably stylized after effects have a lot of effects. You can see, I don't even know in which category, Phil. If I search, we can find out it's in generate. Yeah. You need to know what effects you want to use and how to lend that. It's basically based on the practice. Do you repeat whatever people do and in that way you just remember what you use and what works, What do what basically. Because for example, split two. Split two. I have no idea what it's, it's probably splitting something, but there are so many things that I don't know eng. 6. Motion Tools Plugin: So another useful plug in that might very helpful in our video creation is Motion Tools. Just Google for Motion Tools, and this is the link. If I click it, I get into this page and this plug in is free. You can scroll down, press free download, and just unload it. Let's show it folder, extract it. When we extract this, we have the installation guide. And you can see that we need the file which open PZ. So now let's search for PZ installer. And the best one is E scripts. That's a very good website for all kinds of scripts for after effects. And let's download it, let's install it. Agree. And it asks to restart the computer. But try to it without restarting. I just can't drag my modules thing into okay here. No. So let's try to restart your computer because I see it might not work. So once again, let's launch XP installer here. Here is my folder with motion tools and I should be able to just drag it and drop it here. Yep, now it works. After restarting and yes, install it. Great. And close motion tools are installed, enough traffics, I don't need that in other tools. So let's get back to our file. We just get back to our file and if we go to window extensions, we can see the motion lose panel. I'll just press on motion loose panel one, I think 23.4 do not work, but you can have it and you can add different tools on both. I'll press one. It says that my network access is disabled so I will need to enable it. So go to Preferences general and allow scripts file success network. So let's do that. So let's do that. Edit Preferences, Scripting an extension should be somewhere here. Here we need to click this, okay. And now it should be fine. You need to log in to your motion motion tool. So you need to log into your motion design school account. If you don't have, you can register to it, but I have it, so let me log in. Judge, so I just logged in and I have this panel which will help me a lot in the future. It allows me to fast to make my work faster, and I think you need to have it too. So usually I add that into different screen, but for now I will add, I don't know, maybe here we have some space. So I will add here. And it has a lot of tools and that's really helpful. You need it, but it would help you a lot. And it's free, so I would recommend it. 7. Drawing In After Effects: Video consists from a lot of different but quite simple shapes and drawings. Basically, I create all of those drawings or shapes straight into after effects. I like this method because I'm very familiar with after effects, and it's easy to me, and I don't need to jm between the applications. So here you can see a few tools, this rectangular. And if I press and hold, I can see alternative tools of this. We will use this. And here is another tool that we are going to use. This is the pental. And if I press this, it has variations of penal. So let's start from rectangular. If I select this rectangular, you can see that I can draw the rectangular. And one thing, I will delete this for now. If you want to draw, make sure that you are not selected any layers because if I will select this text layer, and if I'm going to draw, it will draw a mask. For example, if I draw it, it will draw a mask on the text, and the text will be shown only in this area. It's not drawing shapes. It is drawing masks. Be aware of that. If you see this rectangular symbol near the cursor, the rectangular with the.in the middle. It means that it draws masks. So be aware of that. I'll press control Z to get back and remove it. And if I do not have selected layers, if I select something blank, and if I'm going to draw, you can see that near the cursor is like a star. And it means that I can draw shapes like that. So if I draw, it will draw rectangular. Here, for example, in the top tab, we can see the fill and stroke options. For example, we rarely use fill, so we can press on the fill, and we can choose this non, and now it will remove the fill. Now we only have a stroke, and our stroke is in the color of red, and the size of the stroke is four pixels. So for example, if I press and move this, I can increase the stroke or I can press it and add the number, but I like for example, ten, ten pixels. So this is stroke. If I press on the color, for example, if I press on the text, I can remove a stroke, add the stroke as a solid color, add the linear gradient stroke or radial gradient stroke. And here are a few more optis for example, change capacity or blending modes, something like that. If I press okay, it says the options that I just made. And if I press on the color, I can choose the color. For example, usually, I will need white, so I'll just move it to here, and it will be white. If I need a little bit of gray, I can choose this, or I can choose any color that I want. So it's up to you. Usually, I draw white color on the black background. We made a quick rectangular, and let's try to draw an shape. I will click on the blank area, Dislck all the layers, and I will go to my shapes, and let's draw, for example, ellipse. I can draw, and that's the circle or ellipse, whatever you call it. For example, if you want to draw a perfect circle, you can start to draw and press shift, and now it is going to be a perfect circle. If you want to make a circle and to make the center of the circle, at this, for example, corner, you can start to draw, but it's not centered. But if you press control, the center of the circle will be at that area where we start to draw. And if I press shift, it will be perfect circle. So that's the way to draw those things. So let's delete those layers that we just draw. I think that's pretty easy. You can choose other things like polygon. I think that's a polygon. And for example, a star, you can draw a star. Perfect star. You can rotate it in any way you want. That's were looking star. So yeah. Those are simple. You just draw and whatever you need. And let's jump into the penal. Penal is a little bit different. It gives you way more flexibility. For example, you can press here, press here, press here, press here, and let's close the loop, and we have this were looking shape, which we just draw. So you can just draw the shapes from the straight lines, and that's perfectly fine. And for example, if you want to draw something round it, you can press, hold, and move it a little bit. You see those handles. And if I press again here and move it, it allows me to draw the curved shapes. So for example, this one, I may like that, and I will close with this. And with those handles, I can adjust the shape. So it's not easy to explain. I think we will have a separate lesson on that. Maybe some practice lessons. We will see how it will go into the scores. It's not easy, but it's a very useful tool and you can create very interesting shapes with this penol. And you can see we have different options for panel. For example, if I draw this, I can't make big adjustments. This corner is drawn in this way. I'll just click it. For example, this one, have those handles because I pressed and dragged while I had this point drawn. I hope that makes sense. If not, let me know. Everything is fixable. For example, I can go to this tool, convert text tool, and I can press on here, I can drag it, and I have a rounded corner, same with here, and I can do the same in here. And if I want to move those things again, I can jump in here to the pen tool, and now I can move those to the place where I want them to be. So that's the basics of drawing in after effects with the penal and the shapes. To make those drawings look better, it needs practice, but usually we will create very, very simple shapes, and it won't be that difficult on the surface level. Let's wrap up this lesson and see the next one. 8. Create the Background: So let's finally start working with this video that we started. I forgot one thing at the beginning. And we need to create the background because now it looks black. But if we press this, this shows that we don't have any background. It's transparent in the render that will render in black. But to be sure, I would recommend to press some way here. New solid and let's name BG, it's going to be background and let's choose the color. I will make it very dark black if you want, you can decrease the contrast a little bit and make it very dark gray. But I will make it pure black. And I'll press okay. It will appear on the top. But I will take it and I will drop it to the bottom. We have a background, and now we say that if we press this, it's still black, so we will have a black background. 9. Collecting references: I create videos for my own social media, it's easier for me because I have an idea of what I would like to show. But when I make those videos for the clients, it's a little bit tricky, and it's a little bit different. Usually, I get the voice over, and I have to figure out what to show in this video to show the purpose of the video. This process sometimes can take more time than actual video creation because video creation is not that hard, but to figure out how to get straight to the point in this simple way, it's kind of tricky. Usually, I start brainstorming and making some kind of the storyboard or something like that, I just go to Google and I'm starting to search for the things that I could use in this video, that I just put simpliest things into my timeline. And later on, I'm redrawing them, and I'm trying to figure out how to connect everything, how to make smooth transitions between those things or how to morph one thing into another. Let's check our video. And if you are under 45, you are a billionaire. How to show that? I don't know. Calendar. Might be a good idea. Maybe numbers because later on, you have 1 billion seconds to lift. So how to show those billion seconds? That's the question. And later on we have if you are 20, you have 2 billion. So the age decreases and the time of the seconds increases, how to show that. And let's move on. But almost nobody thinks this way. Maybe someone thinking something like that, how to show that with simple shapes. Okay, people focus on money and forget about times. Money, It's quite easy to show. We can create some kind of banknote or just basically $1 sign, something like that. That's not difficult time. We can create the sand clock. You know that one where the stand goes down and counts the time or we can create a simple clock, which is easy to draw. It can be digital, or it can be analog. Basically the clock that we all have So, yeah, that's that's easy. But let's move on. Everybody has the same amount of time each day. You can buy more of it. Again, we can show some kind of a time and the clock, the sand clock, to buy again, dollar signs, something like that. It's the only thing in our lives that we can require once it's gone. No idea how to show that, but maybe we can continue the animation that was before. I think, something like that. So put your phone down and spend your time on put Obviously, we need to draw a mobile phone or something like that. It's easy to do. Think we will do that. Let's quickly add some kind of a storyboard from images or from the Internet. So what I'm sure about at this part, focus people focus on money and forget about time. Okay. Let's search for money or something like that. Money and I search for icon. In that way, I'll have those kind of drawings, which could be quite similar to what I'm looking for. So I'll go to images. And I can see how those are showed basically how those are drawn. So Money, it can be this one. Looks quite good, but it might be tricky to eimate Dollar sign is very easy banknote. Money bag. That's good. We can, for example, take this one. I'll just press right mouth buttons, save images and that JPEG That's totally fine. I don't care. Let me so folder. So I'll create a new folder for those. It's going to be called preferences. And I'll save it here. And from this folder, I'll just drag it and drop it my image to here. We are not going to use that in final render, but for now, it can be quite good. And this image have a light background and dark edges, and we have an opposite of those. So we can invert this image. After effects have this effect, where we can find where our effects. I know that we have our effects control that we installed in the few lessons back, but I will show you the way how to do that without effects control. And let's s for effects and presets, if you don't see it, go to windows and turn this on. And search for invert. So invert. You can double click when you select it valer or you can just drag it and drop it on er. And here you can see we have invert. And it will it's not perfect, as I said, but it's fine by me. We have money bags, something like that. And the texts, people focus on money and forget about time. So how are we going to show time? So let's add more images. So let's search for time. Tim icon. Okay. It's almost everywhere. The clocks. I have idea about this one, this one should also be interesting. It shows how much time left. It could be those 2 billion or something like that. But I don't know, it might be a little bit tricky to show that. But that's an idea. Let's add a simple clock, something like that. Save image, save it again. And where is my folder. Let's drag it and drop it. Okay. We have this. It's on top I have a image. So I can scale down. I didn't show that in the last thing. I can expand this and go to transform and scale and scale down, or I can press S at the shortcut for scaling and scale it down and move it here. And I will need the same effect, so I can use effect control this time. I can press control in space simultanously, and I can write an effect. So invert. In the in That's enough, and I can press Enter, and I have an inverted effect. That's way faster way to work. That's why from now on, I will use effect control instead of those where it is effx and presets. It's just easier. People focus on money and forget about time. Okay, so we will try to use those. And if you remember how we made the text, we cut it by pressing control shift and D and cut it. But there is another shortcut. It's Alt and right bracket. And if you use Alt and left bracket, it will cut, for example, here, it will cut to the left. That's very useful shortcuts. And once again, people focus on the same amount of time each day. You can buy more of it. Basically same mics, I think, Tim, money. The one thing that's one thing in our life that we can't require once it's gone. Mm hmm. I don't know how to show that. So put your phone down and spend your time on pot. Important things. So let's search for phone. Reference. Simple phone. How to show that. This is not what I'm looking for. This is closer to what I'm looking for. This one, but that looks like a very old phone. Maybe iPhone icon. Yeah, that's closer. This one is good. I think this or this one. This looks like a nice phone. Okay. So let's use this one. If I press on this, maybe I will be able to download. It's $2. And I'm not going to do that. Save image, and let's save it. Okay. So dragon Robit. I think I add the wrong image. What is wrong image. And again, I will use this shortcut and left bracket, and that's our phone, and it has no background. It seems. It is a little bit gray. So let's try to add another effect. Let's add the fill effect. So control and space, and let's search for Phil. And Phil effect just fills all layer in one color. For example, if I would add a fill effect here, it would fill all the layer because it doesn't have a transparent background. But because we have here, we have no background, it fills, it adds the color basically just for the shape that is in the image. And that's great. That's what we need. So that's what this effect is for. So once again, I write bracket and it cuts the right side of the image, Okay. So here probably going to continue what's this animation. And let's see here, but almost nobody thinks this way. Thinking. Okay. Let's for something. Thinking icon. Mm hmm. Okay, T thinks this way, nobody thinks this way. How to visualize that? No idea. Thinking brains, cogs in this that might be. I don't know. Maybe thinking Sickmen would be an idea. Whatever you think works, you can add it as a reference for your future self, and thinking, I don't know, but nobody thinks this way, how to visualize that. This one is interesting. Maybe something like that. Again, save image S. Let's save it. Let's add it. And here, if you are under 45, you are a billionaire. Here we may try to add numbers, which will go up because the numbers are changing. It's going up, we're getting older, and somehow maybe the ball goes down and says you are billionaire with letters B N billionaire, right? And here, we have billion seconds to live. So I don't know, maybe some maybe we'll continue this animation. And here if you are 20, you have 2 billion. So this number for 45 goes to 20. It should go back. And we will need to show two billings, so maybe two bottles falling down. Something like that, I think. That might be interesting way to show it. And nobody thinks this way. No idea, but maybe we could continue this animation or we can create some kind of light bulb animation. I don't know. We'll see. And we can invert this. You see how easy it is to use effect console. People focus on money and forgot about time. So focus, we'll see. So that's the process of how I collect ideas. Usually, it takes quite a lot of time. And we have some basics, and we can start to create shapes, animate those, and let's see how it goes. So let's wrap up this lesson, and in the next one, we will start working on this. 10. Creating Countdown Animation: Okay, so now we have a basic idea what we would like to make. Since the last lesson I fought a little bit and I think that countdown could be simplified. We can make a line of text which will go from, I don't know watch number to 45 and then it will go back. So it would look something like that. We need to create the text. You already know how to do that. So press this button and text, and the text is going to be numbers. I don't know how it should start, so probably from something like 18, 19. In this way I'll make the number still something like 55. I think you will understand what I'm doing. Test in a little bit, 22, 20. Okay. I have this line of text and a little bit small right now. I will increase the size and I will change the phone. I like poppins font. Let's make it bald. Poppins, bald. I think that's a great font. I really like it. We are going to animate this line. And it will start, it will stop at 45, something like that. It will show you have 1 billion seconds to live and it will go down to 25. It will be a very simple animation, which is really great. Since this is a first example of the course. I think we will have more complex examples later on. But for now, I'm creating this first one. And I would like to keep it simple. For beginners, For beginners in after effects. I would like to show all of those after effects things in simplified way. To animate this, we need to inset keyframes. Yeah, so at here it should stop. This line should stop at somewhere at 45. So we can move it with the mouse, but that's very ineffective way to do that. I can open this up and you remember we changed the scale in some of those reference images in transform tab. We can change the scale position, rotation, opacity, and anchor point. For now we don't need anchor point, but we can change the position. And this number changes the position in x axis. So in horizontal axis, and this one in y axis. So in vertical axis, so basically this number sits the height. This number sets the position on horizontal axis. We can insert the key frame by pressing this stopwatch. You can see we have a key frame we can move it to here, and we can change the x axis position to something like 45. If this is moving very slow, you can press shift and it will go way faster. Or if you want to be really precise, you can press control and it will move very slow. You can be very accurate at 45, something like that. So we have this animation, We have this keyframe. In this keyframe, once we press this clock, for every change we make, that will add the keyframe at the place where we make the change. So for example here, do you remember at this part we added the keyframe at this part and we animated this timeline till this part. Here, I made the keyframe by accident. So I can just select it and press delete to delete it. So we have this animation. It goes from here 1 billion but this only line, it doesn't look that good. It doesn't look that exciting. This tile of animation have some kind of the path of the shape moving through the timeline. And I would like to replicate that. So let's create a ball around the shape. So I'll press Shift, and I will draw something like that. So we have a ball in the middle of the screen, and it will show that we are on 45 number. Now when this moves along, so we can see it like a target, which is really great. I think those numbers are a little bit too small. We can increase the size of it. I will increase, unfortunately. It will move our timeline a little bit to the side. We can get back to the place where our key frame is. We can even scale it down a little bit, this timeline. And here we can change the position, get back to 45. That's great. And maybe I would like to move it a little bit down. But if I move it down, this is also going to be animated. You can see it's a little bit higher now and it moves down on the timeline, which is not ideal. So we can press on position and press right mouse button. And we can separate dimensions. And now we can animate both dimensions. However, we don't need any animation in the y position, which goes up and down. So we can press this stopwatch again, and it will remove all the key frames from this. This number won't change right now. It will stay in the same position. And this one, I know where it starts, but let's start here. It doesn't really matter right now. It will start like that at 45. Maybe this 45 could be a little bit like that. I would like to make it in the center if you are not sure if that's in the center. Here you can see this title actions thing. And it gives you the center coordinate, which helps a lot. And I clearly see that this circle is not in the center. By doing that, we can go to another tool of after effects, that's Align tool window. We have a line tool somewhere in here, but I'm not sure how it is. If it's not selected, make sure that it's selected. And here's our align. By pressing this, I can make sure that it could be in the center, but for some reason this thing is free D. I don't want it to be three D. So I did selected, and if I press this now it centers. I can even center it on the Y axis, but I don't need to do that. So I'll press P, and I will move it a little bit down. I think it's, the position is good. And I will adjust this time line position. An exposition a little bit to the side, to the center, something like that. I want to be 45 at center. And that I think looks good. Okay, let's continue to work with this timeline. And it says if you are 20 here, we need to move to 20. I'll press Shift to move it fast. And I will move this until I will reach 20. To be more accurate, I will press control. Move it very slowly. So that's good if you are 20 and it automatically inserted the keyframe. Let's see how it looks. It's not good. It goes to 45 and instantly it goes to 25. We don't need that. We would like to stay on 45 a little bit. We can take the key frame and we can copy it. Copying in after effects is the same, like copying everywhere else. You can press control C and paste it at the place where you want it control. Now between both keyframes, position do not change. We have a still position. Let's see how it looks now. I think we can move it a little bit to here to stay on that 45 a little bit longer. And now looks good. 11. Bouncing Ball Animation: So now, I don't think that it looks good like that. I think it would be better to have this circle to be filled. But if we add a fill, for example, white color, we don't see the number. And if we will add a black color, we can see the number if we move it below the numbers, because we can see the layers in order. For example, on top layer will be on top of this. We have this film, for example, in red color, but that doesn't look good. Those videos basically made into colors black and white. I would like to make this circle white color, but I would like to see the text, which for some reason is not completely white. It's gray, that's why we see those slightly, we can change the color of the text inside of this circle. That's a little bit more complex technique. I don't think that it's suitable for beginners, but I would like to show you, so we have this shape. And I don't know if you remember that earlier when I showed how to draw those things, I talked about the mask. So let's create a mask. Right now, I will duplicate this shape. So I'll press control D and we have the same shape. You can see most are identical. And I will move this one above this layer and I will enable it. Now I don't see the mask options, but I can enable this. And if you don't still don't see those, track Metia, press right mouth button, go to columns and to the modes. So let's enable it again. And we have those modes. If I click on this and if I will select my mask, this shape, this text appear only in this shape. So you can see it moves, it is animated. But I can see it on the place where this mask is. And if I move this mask, this text will be available only on this mask. That's great. But our text is still white. In this place where this backgrounds, we need to make it black. But if we make it, we can easily do that, right? So we can change the color. I think this film and it's black, but we don't see the text on the sides And I would like to see that. So we can duplicate this. So we can press control D to duplicate. And for example, we can take this text and make it white and we can disable this matter, which is really cool. We have now black text inside and white text on the sides. Both are shown, which is amazing. But if we would like to change something in animation, for example, let's make the beginning faster. And now it is off. One text is going faster than another one, so we need to parent this text position to this position. And I know it might be a little bit difficult to understand and it is a little bit advanced technique. If you are using after effects for the first time, you can make it simpler. But I would like to show you all of those because there is a lot of things that you can do in after effects. And later in the course we'll dive into way, way more difficult things. But for now I would like to keep it simple, but I will show you those techniques. Also, a few of those we can go into position. So we can press P and we still have key frames which are not identical. And that's not great. But there is another thing. We have the ***** whip and we can set the position. I don't even know how to explain, but we have a ***** whip. And let's see, what do. I will remove the key frames completely. I'll just remove, you can see it stays the same. But we have a spekwhip and I can set the position the same as this position if I do that. And now you can see this position is in red. It has the expression and it's set as the same position as this. When I move things, for example, you can see the position changes in this layer and it changes in this layer two. And it is identical. And now if I change anything in this layer, in this layer, this changes two and we have this animation which is clanky. But we will fix that in the adolescence when we are going to fix animations, we will have this animation like that. For now, if you're under 2045, you are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to live. Da, da, da, da. And if you are 20, you have 2 billion, great. So this animation looks good. Now I would like to have a bouncing ball falling from this ball. That's why I wanted to make it filled. So we have this, we can rename it, actually, We can press and we can change the name. Main circle for example. It's good to be organized. This is going to be black text and this is the circle mask. We can also change the colors of the layers to make it easier for you, so you can organize the files in the way that you like. Now I would like to create another circle which will bounce down. I'll duplicate that main circle and I'll name it Bouncing circle. Okay, bouncing circle. So this has the same position as this for now, because this one do not move. The position is still, it doesn't move at all. So we have a 45. You have 1 billion seconds left here. This circle appears. Let's set the position, okay? And I will separate the dimensions right on, so we have x and y just in case we'll need that. So we need y position because it will fall down. I will set a key frame here and it will fall to the ground. I don't know where the ground is, probably here. It will move up a little bit, maybe down, and I would like to see the keyframes. And this starts to moving, so we have already action. And maybe when this starts to move, we just drop this ball off the screen. And let's cut this down. It looks like that. It looks awful. I know we will fix the animation in the next lesson, when we will talk more deeper into animation. In this lesson, we will make something like an animatic to create the shapes and the basic animations to see how it looks. But this ball is empty. I would like to add billion sign. Billion sign is N. Let's create another text. Let's di, select everything and press on text and write N should be billion. And let's change the filter to black. But it doesn't change because our text is not selected. I'll double click on the text. Now when the text is selected, I can change the color of it. I want to show you again how to select it. So, for example, you can select the letter. You can select the part of the text. But I would like to select all the text. And now I can change the color of it. So I would like to make it black. I can press P to change the position of it, and I will put it somewhere in the middle of the circle, Something like that. That looks quite good, right? Maybe could be capital. I don't know if it looks like a chemical symbol, right Now, let's make it BN. I don't know if that makes sense, but anyway, so now when the animation moves, the ball is moving, but BN thing symbol is not. Once again, let's set BN symbol in the middle of our shape, in our circle. Again, let's set the position the same as bouncing ball position. Doesn't make sense. I'll pick whip this. I don't know if that will work. If I have separated positions on balancing circle and I don't have separated positions here, but let's try. If I set this. Oh, no, it doesn't work. It set for the both. So we need two separate positions here, two, and we need to change only the Y position. So let's set the Y position the same as balancing circle position, okay? And now we have another issue. Those anchor points, I didn't want to talk about anchor points at this point, but it seems that I will need to. You see this? When I select every shape, it has this anchor point. I don't know how to call it. But this thing, every shape has it. Even the text you see the text has anchor point here. Our circle, circle has anchor point here. This billion billion text has anchor point here. It's important for rotation of the things also by setting the position. For example, it's great that we have motion tools and we can set the position of the anchor point. For example, in this layer, if I press this, the anchor point goes to the side. If I press this, the anchor point goes to other side. If I press this, it goes to the top bottom, but we would like to keep it in the middle. And the same with this. The anchor point for some reason is not in the center. I would like to keep it in the center. Now, everything I moved something, now everything is fixed. We can do the same with this. We can move anchor point to the center because it's ideal to have it in the center. Later on when we will have some lessons on rotation, I will show you more what it does. But for now, let's keep it in the center. In all of our shapes in the text. Let's keep it in the center and in our circle. In the center. That's why this motion tool is so cool. If you would like to move anchor point somewhere, let's experiment on this. If you want to move somewhere, there is a tool, it's here or it has a short cut Y. You can press it and you can move your anchor point to the position way one. But usually you want to keep that in the center. That's a short introduction to anchor points, but we will dive a little bit deeper in the next lesson into both. So now it looks good, Boom, boom, cool. Now we have another problem. This billion is intersecting with our numbers. We want that to be below both. So let's move it down and it still intersects. We would like to have this bouncing ball and billion below the main circle. So this main circle will be on top and we won't see this secondary ball and billion sign in that case. So let's select both of those and move that below the main circle. And now we will see the main circle, but when this bounces down, we will see it. So that's exactly what we need. I'll make this billion text a little bit shorter. You already know how to do that out, right bracket and Holton left bracket, boom, boom. Yeah, that is good. We need to do the same at 20 again billion, but we need 2 billion. So we will need two circles. I think we can re use this that we have. I think we can duplicate it. So we can select those two. Press control D to duplicate it. I'll move those above here. We will. For example, this one goes down when I'm 20. Some way here we will have another, this billion text is parented to the bouncing circle and it is parenting to the wrong one. It is parented to this one, which is not great. We need to parent it to this bouncing circle. Let's start set position and let's parent to this position. And now it works well, but we need to oppose. If we will keep them in the center, that's not going to be really good. I think we need to bounce them like that and bounce out of screen. Now we will need to change the Y position two. Let's add a key frame at the start of the Y position when it bounces here. I think we will need to shift that to here when it bounces up. Let's move it to the side a little bit more. Once again, when it bounces like that, we need to the side even more. Something like that. And let's create another one. Control D, once more, another circle which will bounce to the other side. Again, we miss the billion sign because we have parented only the y position. Let's do wrong one. And let's peer into the exposition two. And now it follows the ball that bounces away. So we have another one. Let's do the same with this one. Let's exposition to this y position, to this. And this one will do the same, but we need to move it to the other side. So let's change the exposition to here, right? And this position to somewhere here. And this one somewhere here. So let's see how it looks. It looks very bad, but that's okay. We still have our reference images. I don't think that I need them for now, so I will disable those by clicking those eyes buttons. I don't want them to distract me. That's great. We have a basic animation. We will improve that animation a little bit in the next lesson. But now let's save the file and let's create animations. Let's figure out how to make those. 12. Face Animation: Okay, so let's move on to the next lesson. In this lesson, we will continue to animate this and have an DM. So from somewhere here, those numbers will disappear. And this circle will turn into the face, maybe simple face with only the ice. And we will have $1 sign underneath it. So it will to hear people focus on money. And when we'll hear these people focus on money, this circle will watch into the dollar sign. And when that turns and forget about time, that circle turns into the clock, which is quite good. Yeah, let's do that in this lesson, How to make those numbers disappear. It would be cool to have some kind of nice transition, but I think let's make it an easy way. Just move it out with opacity. So we have those numbers and black text, right? So let's open up the transform. And here you can see opacity. If you want to open up only opacity, you can press the shortcut. It's not very easy to remember a shortcut because as the scale P position and opacity is, but you can think like transparency and then it will become way more easy. Let's change transparency or opacity. We can insert the key frame at 100 and make it disappear somewhere here, and it disappears. We need to do the same with the black text, black text T. And we can pair in the capacity to this capacity. And now all the capacity disappears and we can make the changes for this. And another one will be attached to this, which is really great, but we will need to disappear a little bit earlier. So let's move those key frames to somewhere here people focus on money and we need to add a money sign behind this circle. Let's just add the text control T is the shortcut for text control T control T. Let's add the dollar sign. We can see it because it's in black. We'll make it in red so you can see it. And we will move it here in the center. We can even align it to the center, make it bigger. And move it down here. We will make that in white, and for now we won't be able to see it and it would be good to move it below the main circle. Okay, The main circle is. Where's the main circle? Here it is. When the main circle will move, we will see the text. Let's change the position for the main circle. Let's insert the key frame. Let's move it some way here. We can move it by using both, or we can take it and move it. It's an option two. So great people focus on money. And that's very smooth transition because this one will appear this and forget about time. And now we will need to decrease the fill effect. And now I'm wondering if we can animate the fill. I don't think that we can size stroke, fill color. We can't. We will do that in a different way. Once again, we will duplicate this control D, we create another circle. The second circle, second main circle which won't have the fill. No, fill just the stroke. Make sure that stroke is on, my stroke is at ten pixels. If you want fickle lines, you can increase it. Or if you want fine lines, you can decrease. I'll make it in ten. Right now, when this circle disappears on the second one appears, now it has the same position key frames. I will keep the position key frames in the second circle, and I will remove position key frames from this one. I'll remove position, but I will parent it to this now. We can just remove it from here. And we have it like that. We just need to have a good timing. And I don't think that it's a good idea to remove it like that. Or maybe it is. I don't know. It could be whatever. But we need to focus on time. So let's create the ice. And I'll draw two circles. Two small circles which will be ice. And I'll draw that on top of those. So let's draw one circle, which is not going to have stroke, but it will be filled in black. And it will look like a background. And I will press control and, and I will move it to here so we have something like ice in the face. When it moves like that, it appears great. So now let's parent position of those to position of circle mean circle two actually. And it didn't work because one is parented and another is not. Now when we parent it like that, you can see that this circle is moving with our main circle two. But it is offsetted by a lot. And I would like it to be in this position. So I will press control Z to get back. And I will par in all the things, not only the position, because if I part this, the position have the same number as this position. And you can see those are different. This position is 642 on 960 and this position is 214 on 834. If I parent it, it will have the same position. I don't want this position to be 214 on 834. So there is a better solution. We can parent all the transforms and that will keep this position, but it will be parented to this object. We can parent it to the main circle, not to position. Now it will keep the same. It keeps, that's great. Let's do the same with this one. To main circle two. It changes all the parameters, not only position based on this layer. Which is to which, before it moves, I would like to change the opacity. Right now it's 100, so let's make it zero add here. We don't want to see that it fastly appears. And when we parented this layer to this layer, we can change the position, for example, we can add keyframes and we can make it focus more on the dolcgeow. When it appears pumped, it looks like it is focusing on the doll sign. And that's really good. People focus on money. And now we need to create animation for forget about time. We can decrease this gradually by animating the transparency or opacity. For example, 100. And here is zero. And then it would gradually decreases. And then we would have a clock behind it, which is cool. But I think it might be good to have quick, just basically quick bump. And then we will have a clock to draw a clock, it's really easy. So we have this circle and we need two handles to draw handles. We need two lines to draw lines. We need just to use sentil and let's disable Phil and enable stroke. I'll disable all the layers and I'll draw the first line. Something like that and it's not visible for some reason. Stroke is off. So let's enable the stroke. And Phil is on why? So let's disable Phil and enable stroke. And now we have the first line which is, I'll name it clock minutes line. Okay, And let's create the hours line. So I'll create another 1% of here. This should be short, I think. And let's name it, Minutes and hours. That's great. So we have this clock which will appear again. We need to parent the position. Just select those and parent objects like we did last time to the main circle. And now it will move with the circle. And if we will move the circle, it will appear. One thing I will make them appear because they block the ice. As you can see, we can see those in the ice, which is not good. I'll make them appear from here. So I'll select votes and press out left bracket. Now once this fill disappears, those handles will appear and we make them a little bit thicker. I think the stroke is only four pixels squared, and now it is ten pixels, which is good. So let's wrap up this lesson and in next lesson, we will make this clock move to rotate and spin. So I'll see you in the next lesson. 13. Clock Animation: Okay, so we have this clock right now. And it would be more interesting if those handles would spin like in the real clock. We need to animate those. And in this case, we will need to animate rotation. And this is where our anchor point thing comes in. Because if I will take a minute handle and I will press R to rotate. And if I press to rotate, it rotates like that. It happens because this handle rotates around our anchor point. You can see our anchor point is here. And if I rotate it, it rotates around it. We need to move this anchor point. We can press this button or y shortcut, grab this anchor point and move it here. Now if I am going to rotate it, it rotates like that. That's exactly what we need. That's awesome. Let's do the same with the hours handle. We have this anchor point here. Let's try motion tools. Let's press this and it snaps right here. And if we are going to rotate it, it rotates just fine. Now, rotation we can insert the key frames. I had a thought about rotating those handles with expressions which makes sense, but I think it would be a good idea to leave expressions for the future lessons because it might be a little bit too much information. For now, I will add the key frames for rotation. And let's animate this handle. And how long do we need this clock to be in? I think it's going to be till the end of the video. Something like that. So we need to decide how many times do we need to rotate this minute handle till the end of the video? I think something like four times should be okay. So we can slide it down and you can see free 60. That's one time. I'll just add numbers four times and let's see how it looks. It looks like that. Hm. I don't know. Maybe we need to make it faster. I think maybe we could make it five times. Let's see how that looks. I'll delete the four times key frame. Yeah, I think that, that's good. So we will move in this time frame to something like five times, almost six. Okay, let's make it six times. I add two keyframes, so I'll remove this one. And it's equal six times, which is good. And now we will need to rotate the hour handle. And we will need to rotate it in 6 hours. And 6 hours is something like two half a circle, right? One circle is 12 hours. Six a half is math. That's great. So we need to rotate it 180 degrees. Let's see how it looks. The speed looks really great. So that's what, it's easy. We have this text, people focus on money and forget about time. Everybody has the same amount of time each day. You can buy more of it. I didn't figure out a really good animation for this, so I think we will use the clock here. This clock here, here. And then the phone will appear. I think in this time we will need to move this clock to the center block, the dollar sign, and scale it up to make it bigger. Let's do that. We will need a key frames for position and scale To add another option to position scale. I press Shift and add it S as an addition thing. For example, if I hold shift and press, I can add opacity. Or if that won't work for you, you can just open the transform tab and all of those options are here. So yeah, for me it's easier to have skill and position because I will move those P S and so we have this skill here. I think from here it will feel some way here. Maybe from here it will become larger or something like that. But from here I would like it from this position. Maybe from this I will add the key frame here. Another thing which I probably didn't mention, the scores, You can add the keyframe by pressing this button. Add or remove keyframe. At current time, when there is no key frames, you can press this and that will add the key frame. But when we have a keyframe, we need to press this to add a keyframe at certain time. Or we can copy this, copy and paste it to the Hear. That also works, but I think we will need to have slight movement in here. I don't know. We'll see now this clock goes to the center, So something like that. And then it scales up, which is quite good. Great, so we have the animation. And what I would like to do here, a smooth transition from clock to block the dollar sign. And I would like to make this main circle. Not without the fill which we did, but I would like to add Phil. But to make it fill in the same color as the background, in that way it would look like like it's empty inside. But in this way we won't see what's behind it. So let's do that. You can see I will add fill in the same color as the background. And now it blocks the dollar sign, which is exactly what we need. Of course it could have other problems. Now it blocks this, but we can move it behind this, I think. And in front we will have black circle and boomed. And now it's good. Okay. So we have where's our dollar dollar sign is here. So we can remove it from here. We don't need it. Here's something like the start of it. Great, so let's wrap up this lesson with this and the next lesson we will make the phone. 14. Phone Scene: So the last thing that I would like to add to this base of the video is the phone. So we have this reference. I'll delete those old references which we don't need anymore. We have a base for here. So yeah, we need a phone. I don't think that we can use this that we took as a reference, but it will look something like that phone will be very large and then it will in the screen with the clock is spinning on the screen. Then at the end, it will go out of screen with the clock also. That's my idea. Now let's draw this phone. Actually, it's quite easy to do, I think. Let's dissellect all the layers because we will create a new shape layer. And I will create a rounded rectangle. I'll press on that and I will draw a rounded rectangle. It doesn't look like rounded right now. And I will disable, Phil, that maybe I'll make stroke red for now because I would like to see this reference behind it is rounded but not enough. But in the Properties tab you can see that. You can change the roundness and we can change it like that. I think that's close enough to our reference. If you don't see this property tab, you can also have this in the shape layer, a content rectangle rectangle path. It's the same, same controller but also you can found it here. I just want to let you know, let's keep the stroke at ten bigger. We will see, we can change that anytime later. And we will add the notch. It's the same, same thing, basically, we just draw a rounded rectangle here. But I will increase the roundness. I will disable this reference. And let's see how our phone looks like. It would be better to have this a little bit more straight at the end. I think this roundness, I don't like it that much at the top. So I think we can move this rectangle a little bit up to something like that. Maybe we can increase the size to the bottom. I disselect this strain proportions and I will move this down. Let's try to add the mask here. I will get the rectangular tool and this time I'll press on this great mask and whoa, I will draw it on this part that we don't need something like that. And I will invert the mask. We can adjust it a little bit. Mask path, we can move it a little bit down and let's see how it looks. It looks like a phone, which is really great. Okay, so let's rename the phone. And yeah, in the phone here, it starts from somewhere here. And we can scale it up to move it out of screen. And let's make the stroke white, red. Or maybe we can set the right size first so we can scale it up a little bit. Let's move it somewhere in the center. And scale it up till we can see it. So great. And now we can parent it to our main circle, which is the clock I think should be right here, right? Yeah, this is our circle. Let's make this phone starts here. Now the clock will be scaled down. We will see our phone. Let's change the position. Add the keyframe to position. At the end of the video, it will go out of screen like that. That's the animation. This is getting closer and scale down and move out of screen. We can add a rotation key frame here. I think something like that. When it goes, it could rotate like that. So let's see how it looks. I think it looks better like that. And just make sure that it goes out of screen completely. That's the basic animation. From now on, we will work on more details, we will work on key frames, we will ease them, and we will make this animation looks better. But of course, timing is also important, I just like I felt it now. In the next lessons, we will adjust those things and this will look much better. See you in the next lesson. 15. Smoothing the Animation: So we have a base of our animation. Let's have a look how our animation looks like. So I'll play. If you are under 45, you are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion. But almost nobody thinks this way. Focus on money and forget about time. Everybody has the same amount of time each day. You can't buy more of it. It's the only thing in our lives that we can't reacquire once it's gone. So put your phone down and spend your time on important things. Okay, so now this animation is quite harsh, but so we need to smoothen it and to make it look better, I will press control as to select all and I will press button and that will open the keyframes that we added. So now we can see all the key frames that we have. Let's start with this time line where where our numbers line are sliding. Because it starts very fast and stops up very quickly. We need to smoothen it out and we can select it. Press right mouse button, Keyframe assistant. Easy ease, but you can see there is a shortcut. F nine. I will do that. I'll select those and I will press F nine. Now you can see those keyframes changed. They look a little bit different. This means that it is east. If we press this graph editor, we can jump into graph editor and make sure that you are in this added speed graph because now it is added value graph. If we do that, we can see how speed changes through animation. It starts slowly, it gets the speed, and it is slowing down. But I think we can increase this smoothness even more. We can select those key frames. I can press this slide down now. It starts really slow. It catches the speed. It slows down at en, let's see how it looks at the real speed. If you are under 45, it's better. But I think we can move this keyframe even till here. Maybe we can adjust it even more. So I will select the keyframes. I don't think that we need to start slowly at this point. We can start fast, we can slide this handle to here. It starts fast and it is slow down to here. So let's see how it looks. If you are under 45, I think that's way, way, way better. Let's do the same with those two. We can select and press nine. Now it is smoothing out. You are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 20, it's still very fast. I think when this drops, we can extend the animation. I think we can start animating bad slide from here. It needs to stop somewhere here. Let's select, let's suggest votes again. I think we need that shape that we did before, this bell curve or something like that. Let's see how it looks. You are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to live. Now I will show you another way how to adjust the easing. We have this motion tools plug in. We need this footage bar, we have sliders. If I select those two key frames, I can adjust this. Usually, if I need a good easing, I use something like you can see the more slide sharper speed is usually a 80 and that looks quite good. You have 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 28, I like it. So it starts slow, it gets the speed, and then slows down. That's really good. So this part is done. Now we have another part, this bouncing ball. It looks terrible, you are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to very bad. So we have those key frames. We can select them and we can easy ease by nine. You are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds. Looks even worse. Let's break down the mechanics of the bouncing ball. So let's go to the speed graph. When the ball drops on the floor, it starts slow. It catches the speed towards the end. Let's do that. It starts slow, the speed is low. It catches the speed near the end. Let's look something like that. Slow or a bit catches the speed. It should bounce quite quickly off the ground. It catches the floor and usually very quickly bounces off. And it goes up, up, up. And it stops a little bit at the top and it starts to go down. I think this gap between the key frames is way too, too long. I will move it here and maybe this one closer. Now it should, you are a billionaire. You have a bill. I think that's good. Let's do that. Let's select this keyframe. Take this handle and move it to here. It will start to go fast. And let's take this and move to here, and let's see how it looks. Now you are a billionaire. It's way better at this point. It should stop a little bit and it goes down. So we can move it. Something like that and now it should be quite a good animation. You are a billionaire, you have 1 billion. It's way better, way, way, way better. You are a billionaire, you have, we can still adjust the timings. For example, this move a little bit by moving the key frames. If you are a billionaire, you have 1 billion and that's quite good. Now let's talk about another technique used in animation. It's called squash and stretch. Let me zoom in a little bit to those key frames when, for example, bouncing ball goes down and bounces to the floor, squashes a little bit. A good way to add this stretch effect. For example, we can press shift S to open up the scale option. For example, we can disselect proportions, editing proportional, and add the key frame here. At this point we can squash the ball. For example, we can increase this value a little bit, something like 5% and decrease this value by 5% Now this ball is a little bit squashed. When it bounces, it squashes, it gets to the normal state. I will copy this. It goes down. When it gets the speed, it might a little bit stretch. What does mean? I copy of this keyframe and I will stretch it a little bit, so I'll make it a little bit thinner and a little bit longer. You are a billionaire, You have 1 billion. So as I said, it's not very noticeable. I'll add a few keyframes like maybe 98. This one is not that powerful. 12, I will ease those. So this is going to be very noticeable. But you are a billionaire, you have 1 billion. It adds a little bit of character to this animation five. You are a billionaire, you have a bit. So now let's move to another part where those two circles bounces. Earlier in our making process, we separated the dimensions. But I think it's a bad idea in this situation because if we would like to adjust the key frames, it will be a painful process to do with separate dimensions. To adjust that easing of the key frames, I think it would be a better idea to join those dimensions again. To avoid weird things, I will make the key frames in the same position, X and Y keyframes. I'll select those and I'll press separate dimensions. I will disselect this, and now it will have a one dimension. So far, this animation looks the same. The only thing we missed this because this probably have separate dimensions too. Let's go at the beginning here. I will make this, I think we did something like that. If you're 20, you have 2 billion almost. And now it works. Let's do the same with this one. To move key frames. Move the key frames in the same positions. Because if we do not do that, let me do that. We have those and separate dimensions. Now you can see this key frame, this key frame, we have too much key frames. We will need to clean those up. It's better to make it like that, actually, We don't need to select those. I think we just need to press here in separate dimensions. And that will work too. So whatever, it's just a habit to select something for me when, when I'm trying to do the action here too. We lost the billion signs. So let's go to the first key frame, Select this into 2 billion. Well it still not works out because both have separate dimensions. Now it should be okay, billion to bouncing circle and let's see how it looks. No, it doesn't look good. Let me control Zveow, Let's separate dimensions and parented to the bouncing circle. It's here for some reason, I don't know why. Let's try to figure it out. Let's try to parent position to this position. It should fix that. Yeah, that works. The thing was that the billion position was a little bit of when we parent to the bouncing circle. It moves in the same way, but it is off quite a bit. In that case, we can adjust the position and parent the text to the bouncing circle. Or we can just peer in the position and that will do the same thing. Okay, now we can work on both a little bit. We have the same thing, we can the speed like we did in the last one. We can select the key frames and adjust. Press nine. Come on, select key frames. Press F, nine, go into the speed graph. It goes slow, it goes slow. It catches the speed, it bounces quickly. It freezes a little bit in the sky. It freezes a little bit in the sky and goes quickly out. So let's see how it looks now. 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion, but almost it freezes too much in the sky. I would like to show you one thing for example, I think it has to move still because we have movement on the X axis, on horizontal axis, it's not freezing on the X axis. So we can move it up, but if I do that, only one of those handles are moving. I'll get back and I will double click on this point of intersection. We get this tab key frame velocity, and we need to press this continuous locking. If we do that now if I move it, bow handles just basically bow handles moves. Let's see how it looks now. If you're 20, you have 2 billion. But I'm still very slow. So we can, we have a very big gap between your key frames. That's the thing. Probably if you're 20, you have 2 billion, that's better. Way better. Another thing, there is harsh angle here. At this point it's good to have a harsh angle because ball bounces off the floor and it has 90 or maybe even 100% angle. But at this point, we need to smooth it out. How we can do that, we can select our layer. And press on this. But we need to take this convex vertex tool. If we make it, we can adjust it like a curve. This is the path that our bouncing ball go, travels. If I smoothing this out, I think it will look way better. Because at this point, it makes no sense. If the ball goes up and it goes straight down. Let's see how it looks. Live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion way better. Way, way, way better. Now let's adjust the speeds a little bit more. Maybe we can move it to here a little bit and this make a little bit more like that. Let's see, Hard live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion. That's quite good. I like it. Let's do the same thing with the second circle. I will move those key frames a little bit closer. I would suggest to stop the video now and do that part by yourself. It would help you to understand the concepts better. In a second, I will show you how I do that. I guess you did your part. So I'll press nine to smoothing it out. Let's adjust here. Here we have this key frame in here. Something like we have 2 billion, but almost nobody thinks, good, great, we can adjust this, make it in different direction, something like that. I think this moves a little bit too low. Maybe we can change the key frame position even, oh, I add another key frame, that's mistake. But I can do like that. Okay, so let's 2 million. Nobody thinks quite good. It freezes too much on this part. And I don't need to freeze it here. Let's do that thing that we did continues. Let's increase the speed a little bit. So it won't be that nobody thinks this. Think we need to move those key frames a little bit. Co money. You have 2 billion but almost nobody think, uh, catches the speed too fast. You have 2 billion, but almost nobody thing still, it stops too much at this point. I think we need to increase the speed a little bit, but not much. It gets so, but almost nobody think very weird, It looks very, very weird. Bounces, let's see, you have 2 billion, but almost nobody thinks that's better. I think you have 2 billion. But almost nobody, this looks a little bit harsh. Maybe we can slightly smoothing it out, but almost nobody thinks this way. People focus on money and forget at 2 billion, but almost nobody thinks this way. I mean you have 2 billion, but almost nobody thinks that's good. I think that's good. Great. So we have quite a good beginning of a video. If you are under 45, you are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 20, you have two, great. So that's amazing. We need to do that squash and stretch thing with those balls, so you know how to do that. So I will do that very, quite faster. So we will add a keyframe here at 100.100 I will select that at this point, we need to squash it a little bit, maybe 95.105, something like that. At this point it goes to normal state. I did control C, control V. At this point when it goes fast up, we can change this to maybe 97, something like that and 103 at this point, something. 98.101 Two, if you're 20 you have 2 billion but almost great. So I think we can take this scale and I think we can add it to here like present control B and you, so we can just adjust the timing a little bit. You have 2 billion but almost nobody that's good, both have a little bit different timing. But to live if you're 20, you have 2 billion, but almost nobody. We made it really fast. So now this part, let's see what we need to adjust, what's happening. Opacity changes at this part, right? So we are decreasing the opacity of those numbers. Do we need to smoothen it out? Usually, I don't do that with opacity. It's okay with me if it goes out at the same speed. This capacity also look like that. But this movement needs to be smoothing it out because it starts very fast and it keeps the same speed. I'll press nine and let's see how people focus on money. I think I go into the speed graph, select those, I will make something like 80. A motion tools, people focus on money and F now we have those key frames. Oh, that was the key frames. Okay, I thought I did a little bit different thing. Let's do the same, something like 80 of easing or there is another plugin which is paid, I think, I don't remember. We can copy the easing, for example. We can take this copy and make the same easing by pasting the easing. That's very nice plug in but I think it's paid. I'm not going to use that here. I just wanted to show you the option here, the position. I will smooth all of those by nine. Do something like that. At 80 people focus on money, maybe that's a little bit too fast, but we can adjust the key frames. Thinks this way. People focus on money, that's good and forget about time. Now goes slowly into here. Let's see how this easing looks like. It looks like that. I think we can increase to something like that. It goes really slow, fast and then slow at the end. People focus on money and forget about time. Everybody has the same amount of time. That looks good. Great. We have a couple more key frames here. Clock minutes, we don't need to adjust. Both goes at the same speed. We have rotation, which is at the end. Here we have scale. It starts to come up and go out and then it rotates and goes out of frame. I think we can try to ease the scale and see how it looks F nine of time each day. You can't buy more of it. It's the only thing in our lives when we can't reacquire. Once it's gone, put your phone down and spend your time. I don't think that I will need to increase the easing at this point. I think it's good. We don't need that very fast. We can try, we will see how it looks. Maybe it will be better. So let's make a little bit extreme, something time each day. You can't buy more of it. It's the only thing in our lives that we can't reacquire. I think it's better to have smoother, smoother part. Why it's so lagging, something like that. Maybe of time each day you can't buy more of it. It's the only thing in our lives that we can't reacquire once it's gone. So put your phone down and spend your time on imports. That's good. That's very good. Now this part, it rotates and goes out of screen. So nine to have the easing certain things, it's good, but I would like to make it a little bit different. At least for position, I'll select only the position key frames. At least for this I would like to curve to look like that. It goes slowly and then basically jumps out of screen very fast. That's good. Let's see how that would look in rotation. I think we can make a similar curve, select those keyframes, moves handles what's happening. One important thing, it doesn't look good. I think we can move this key frame to the side to make it like that. Important things, yeah, that's better important things, because if we have this keyframe here, important things, we have this very hard rotation, Doesn't look good. I think we can have that towards the end when the phone goes out of the screen. Important things. Yeah, that was so much better and we finished smoothing our animation. Let's see how it looks now. If you are under 45, you are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion. But almost nobody thinks this way. People focus on money and forget about time. Everybody has the same amount of time each day. You can't buy more of it. It's the only thing in our lives that we can't reacquire once it's gone. So put your phone down and spend your time on important things. If you were under 45, that is so much better than it was before. So yeah, let's wrap up this lesson and we basically made our video. In the next video, we will need to change the captions to make it look better because both are just the placeholders that we have and maybe sound effects, something like that. So let's wrap it up. See you in the next lesson. 16. Captions: In the next step, we will need to create the captions. We already created some of the captions in after effects, those ones, But it was more like a guideline for me to know where animation ends and starts. We can create those captions in after effects like we did those, But I think it would be a better idea to create those in Premier Pro. I think it has better tools for that. That might be just better. I will select those. I'll select the first one, and I, we'll press Shift. And I will select the last one. I'll press this icon and I will disable those. Now our animation. Do not have any captions and that's great. Does it have Sound if you were under 45? Yeah. Sound Works perfectly. I'll just save it by pressing control, I will open up a Premier Pro. Where is my Premier Pro? Here it is. It is opening in ano screen. I'll just press New Project, and I will choose the location added here. I will name it Eight. I will name it Captions, and I will press Create. Now we need to add a video or something into Premier Pro, so we can render this out and add it as a video. Or there is another way, because Premier Pro and after effects are very some kind of connected, if that's the right word to say. Because both those products are from Adobe and they are talking to each other really well. I will do like this. Our main composition is billion in time. I'll take this composition and I will drop it into projects and captions. Now I have this and I can drag and drop it into my time line. I have my video, which is great. It is a little bit too long, but that's fine. I can cut it out so I can press this press razor tool and cut it. I can take this one, select this part, and just press delete To delete it. Now I have my timeline. If you are under 45, if I press Space button, it starts to play. You are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion. That's great to add captions. We need this text panel. If you don't see it, you can go to window, for example. I will close it. I don't have it. Window Text. And that will open for you. This text panel is not a new thing, but it was released, I don't know, the last year or something like that. It's very easy to add captions with this one. First of all, we need to transcribe our audio. To do that, we just need to press transcribe. Premier Pro will do that for us. We already have a transcription because we wrote this video. But it do pretty good job. I don't even need that transcription. Let's check it out. If you are under 45, you are 1 billion very bright. I think it would be better to have a word in here because this number is, it's hard to read. I can double click on it and I can write billion, you have 1 billion seconds to live. If you are 20, you have 2 billion. But almost nobody thinks this way. People focus on money and forget about time. Everybody has the same amount of time. Each day you can buy more of it. It's the only thing in our lives that we, but we can't require once it's gone. So put your phone down and spend your time on pot. I think it's good. So if I play this, you can see it highlights the text at both parts. If you are under 45, you are a billionaire. You have 1 billion. It highlighted this, so I think I made a mistake. I made one L. So I'll just add another one and that will be billion. It's good that it highlights. That helps a lot, especially if you're editing the text and you are not a native English speaker. And you make some mistakes. So that helps a lot. Okay, let's play the video and see if that looks good. Okay, that looks awesome. Now when we add captions, there are a few things that looks quite ugly. Those are commas and the dots at the end of the sentence, they just don't fit the look of the captions. Especially if you write very short captions that just look bad, We can search for those. There is a search bar I can press, and Adobe finds all the commas in the section and I replaced and replace all, and it just deletes those. I can press the dot for forment, I replace them all. We don't have those. Sometimes in some situations that replaces too much. Not much because I asked all the dots and but at some parts we need those Keep in mind now when we have our plain text, which is looking good, we can press the caption tab. We can press Create captions from transcripts. We can captioning preferences. I highly recommend to do that. Don't go with default. I will hide this button. First of all, I go with the single line. I want those phrases to be quite short, single. I don't need double maximum length in characters and minimum duration in seconds. That's quite important. If you want those captions to be quite long, you can keep it this way. Usually I keep length in characters at round 20. That looks quite good. Duration in seconds, I leave it at three. I think this sweet spot sometimes for my clients or for other reels or Youtube shots, we want to go word by word. Basically very short phrases, very fast bomb, that looks really good. Then I just decrease those to minimum. I think for this video it would be the best to keep that lamping characters at round 20 and minimum duration seconds at three. And let's see how it looks. I'll just press create captions, and Premier Pro will do that for us. Great, it created the captions. You can see it in the bottom. And that's not the best position to be, that's not the best position where we could place them. Because in the shorts in Tiktoks and other videos like that, that bottom part is covered with text and no one will see those captions. We need to lift them up. To do that, we need to go to essential Sound. Let me disable those essential graphics. You don't see it. If you don't see any of those tabs, you can just go to window and you can find it here is essential graphics. For example, if you don't see it, Window, essential graphics. It appears somewhere. It is here. If I select my captions, both graphics appear. Now I can change things. For example, I can change the position. I would like to be in the center, but center is covered with the text, so I'll place it at top. And I will move it a little bit down, so that's great. I think this position is quite good. Let's change the font. We have myriad pro. For my videos, I usually use poppins, fons. That's a very beautiful font. Especially poppins, fin. It could be too thin for this video, but if we make it regular on medium, maybe that should be quite good. With this slider, we can change the size of the text, maybe something like that. I will make this a little bit bigger. This screen a little bit bigger. I will move it to the side. I'll take this, move it to the side, and I will have it full screen now. I can see it better. And you can see it better. You can adjust your windows in the way that you like. Yeah. Okay. This text looks quite good. And let's play the video and see how it looks with when it's playing. If you are under 45, you are a billionaire. You have 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion. But almost nobody thinks this way. People focus on money and forget about time. Everybody has the same amount of time each day, You can't buy more of it. It's the only thing in our lives that we can't reacquire once it's gone. So put your phone down and spend your time on important things. Okay, a few things. I think that text size is a little bit too big for this video, so I will decrease it to something like 55, 54. If we scroll down a little bit, you can see that we have shadow on the text, which is not necessary because we have a black background. I will just disable it. Shadow or stroke is important for videos with film footage where you don't have much control on your background. At some parts, text might not be seen. I will extend the text. You can edit this text in the way like you. Any other things in pre. Sometimes those captions are not created in a very intuitive way. They are sometimes split it in the way that it's quite hard to read, so you can change that very easy. For example, I want to see almost nobody, but nobody thinks that's fine. But for example, if I would like to see almost nobody, I can select this part. Take nobody, press control X to cut it, and control to add it here. But I will keep add it as it is. Those are quite simple captions and I think both fits this video quite well because I don't want very flashy captions to take attention from the animations. Both are just for people who watch this video without the sound, so they would understand better what is talking in the video. And I don't want people who watch with some to just focus on captions not on the animations. So that's the main point of those. And that's basically it for the captions. So in the next lesson, we will jump into the sound effects. We'll add a few sound effects to make this video sound a little bit better. 17. Sound Design: So that's basically the last step of video creation. We have audio voice older and we have animation. But to make this animation to look a little bit stronger to have a better effect, we need some sound effects. Of course, we can add music also, but I don't like music videos. I think it's better to have those kind of videos without the music. And if you create, and if you like, you can, you can add some royalty free music. But I would recommend just to go into the app at way posting, for example, Instagram. Instagram reels, you can add the music directly on Instagram. The same with shorts, Tiktoks and yeah, that's basically it where you're going to post both. Great. We have those were to search for audio effects. You can just Mr. Horse, let me show you. Here it is. You can just go to Mr. Horse, this is the product Premier Composer. Get started for free, download it, install it, You can see this is the same thing that I have. You will have this. I would highly recommend it. It's a great tool, even free tool, have a lot of things that is very useful like transitions and stuff like that. It has quite a good sound effects. Yeah, I have a premium version, I paid for it every month. I have a little bit more stuff than free version, but free version is quite good. For example, in premium version we have quite a big library of sound effects. They are sorted in quite a good way. Easy to find. Okay. I think I need to lower the okay. Yeah, but if you can afford it, I would highly recommend it. That's a great tool. I think if I press on start a pack, here are the sounds that free version gets, for example. So important for sound design and it's really easy to use. I can take a, drag it to my timeline and I have it. It's just important. You can add your sounds to user library. I have my sound effects library, which I downloaded. For example, iphone camera. Not all libraries have the sound, and I used it a lot I added to my library and I can add to my timeline wherever I want. I will delete those. We will check one more thing. If you don't have Mr. Horse or you don't like it for some reason, I don't know. There is a free sound library, Pixabay, which is quite good. I don't think I used it before. I usually use my epidemic sound in that elements library. This have quite a lot of sound effects. I have a subscription, I can use those. But if you don't and you don't want to pay, this might be quite good. We will use that in this video. We have this animation. And let's see where we need Sounds The line of numbers go in. I would like to have some sound. Let's search for that sound. Rotating something like that. Almost spinning wheel. That's the sound spinning reel? Yeah, we can search for more spinning reel, for example. Okay, phishing reel. No. Yeah, let's download this spinning reel so I can preload and it will download it for my downloads. I'll just jump it into the next window. I will drop it into my timeline. That's a long sound. We don't need to make it that long. If you were under 45 till here, I'll make it here. I'll expand this to see the waves a little bit better. Let's listen for it. A good might be too fast. If you were under 45, it might be. It's the only thing in our lives that we stay. You can't buy more. Yeah, that's good. Okay, so here is a little bit faster and goes to slower. I'll cut it here. You can just take the razor tool and cut it, but I have a shortcut made on my keyboard and I have C shortcuts. I don't remember the default shortcut for cutting in premiere, but I highly recommend to change those shortcuts and have a good shortcut for cutting. So let's hear how it sounds. If you are under 45, Okay, here is the dead stop. And I need to stop it if you were under 45, Okay, At this part, we need to make it a little bit slower. This goes quite fast. If it sounds quite good if you were under four, but at this point it goes slower. I think we can just simplistically those gaps a little bit longer. If you are under four here it starts to slow down. So I will take this and I will gaps between those sticks a little bit longer and see how does it sound. And I think that might be the last one. I'll move it to here if we will need it. So if you were under 45. If you were under 45, I think we need one more. So I'll cut one more and I'll add some way here. If you were under 45. Yeah, that's good. That's probably an easier way. I think there are many different ways to do what we just did, but that's very simplistic. We just expanded the gaps between both sticks. T T. Yeah. So under 45 you are at this part. We need the bouncing ball Sound. We have the same animation and we will need this Sound. I'll select this, I'll press out bottom, and I'll drag it. That will made a copy basically. At this part it starts slowly. We need to keep that in mind. It catches the speed some way here. It starts to move slowly. At some way here, I'll try to move to eyeballs to live. See how it looks. I will take those, press out and move those to other side to have that smooth start. Let's keep only two and see how it looks. You have 1 billion seconds to live, seconds to live. I think we don't need the last one. You have 1 billion seconds to live. That's quite good. If you're 20, you have two balls again, ball bouncing. Nobody thinks this way. People focus on when this moves. We can have a swoosh effect here. It would be nice, I think clock ticking effect again, a little bit of so, so go out, we can keep the ticking effect, maybe make it a little bit less obvious later on. Let's do that. We need bouncing ball effect. Yeah. So okay, ball, fire, breath, maybe bounce it would be a better Boeing. No. And what about ball jump? Yeah, soccer ball. Soccer ball might work. This one also. Yeah. So I think we will use this ball effect. I think that's good. Let's unload it. Okay, so we unloaded it. I get it from my down loads and I will drag it in here. At this point it touches the ground so we can synchronize it to something maybe a little bit earlier goes out. And let's assume that it bounds somewhere here. Cut it. And I will move it some way here. I will cut it out. We need the same effect for this ball. I'll press out and I will move it down. That will create the copy it bounces. At this point, I will move my sounds to here. Let's assume that it bounces somewhere out of screen. Let's see how it sounds. Million seconds to live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion. But almost nobody thinks this. For some reason, this bouncing animation looks a little bit weird. But almost when we will finish sound design, we might have a look at it and fix those things if needed. But let's focus on sound design right now. Almost nobody thinks this way. People focus on, people focus on, okay, so we will have more bouncing balls, right? We have one more here so we can take both. I'm pressing out to copy. Okay, so this one here, who are a billionaire, we don't need this one. It doesn't bounce second time, 1 billion seconds to live. If you're 20, you have 2 billion. But almost nobody thinks that or maybe it's not a good idea to have that second bounce. It just bounces out of screen. And let's see how it looks. Now if you're 20, you have 2 billion. But almost nobody think it looks a little bit weird. But we will see how. I'll move all of those sounds into one timeline. Thinks this way. People focus on. Okay. So. So let's search for that one. Okay? Soh. Okay. This one, this sound sounds quite good. This one is fast Bush also good. Oh no, and we have shot, that's quite good. I think we can use this one and we can adjust it based on our liking. So I don't know it. Let's import it. Let's see how it sounds. Focus, I think this one a little bit too fast. So we can press on this, hold it, and use a rate stretch tool. We can stretch that effect a little bit. People focus on money this way, people focus on money, it's a little bit too, but we will fix that later if we need. Here is a long bush way here. Again, that's the same stretch tool that we used. Let's see how it sounds to forget about time. Everybody has the same amount of time we need to make it get about time. Everybody has the same amount of time each day you can't buy. Maybe we will delete this. I think we will have a clicking effect now. We definitely need a wish Sound in here, important things. Let's jump into premier composer. I know that there is a really good in here in free version, even start a pack sounds and in transitions. And those will fit our scene really well. Let's use those because this one is not very good. It's a little bit too fast. So let's try this one to see how it, things important things a little bit earlier on, important things. This one is so much better. So, so better. And for this part, at about time, everybody has, we can have this very long one or maybe just ticking Sound. This transition is too long. About time, everybody has the same, no, it doesn't fit. Let's see how it sounds. So, put your phone down and spend your time on important things. Yeah, most fat we have looks good. And I think the most important sound effect will be the ticking clock. Because it will give, it should give the best effect, okay? It doesn't sound very good, but this is better. This is a little bit too to silent. Not loud enough. Okay. We had here pretty good sounds. This one. It sounds powerful for me. I don't know why. Let's try it. If that doesn't work, we'll change that. That's totally fine. Okay? The clock is ticking. I'll move that, here it starts. Let's see how. Okay, And let's see how it sounds. Forget about time. Everybody has the same amount of time each day. You can't buy more of it. It's the only thing in our lives that we can't reacquire once it's gone. So put your phone down and spend your time on important things. And I don't think that we need that last one. I think that's quite good. It makes the video some kind of tense. It makes it to be tense. So let's see how it turns. Okay, that looks awesome. And in the next lesson, I will show you how to render this video, and that basically will be itch. 18. Rendering: The last part of the video creating process is surrendering. We can just press file export media. It's easy like that. Select where you want to export it. I will export it here. I'll name it. Spend time on on important things safe. Okay. Usually I don't change anything. I use match source adaptive high bit rate format H 264. That's the best format. That's basically it. You can use entire source, entire source of ours, our video. We don't have any footage in here that we don't want to render. In case you have that, you can press this select the area which you would like to render from beginning till here. If I go file export, you also have a shortcut control that that will be so much faster. Change this source into out and that will render on the source that you selected both in and out points. Yeah, I will need to change that again. Yeah, Sieve and just press export and that we'll export it really fast. This is an easy file and we have it in our folder. 19. Outro: Congratulations, you made it all the end of the scores. I hope you learn how to tell your stories in motion graphics. And if you created something, feel free to post that blow in the class project or if you posted on social media, feel free to tag me as BLGA. I love to see my students work online. If you have any feedback or if you want to tell something about the scores, feel free to leave feedback a comment that helps a lot. This is not the final version of the course. I am updating it all the time. All your feedback is very useful. Yeah, thank you so much for taking this course and see you in the next one.
