This class for beginners no pier procreate experienced artists transitioning from traditional to digital, and anyone who want to simple and clear starting point. And let's tie in. 2. Procreate Gallery Basics: Welcome again. This is the Procreate gallery. If you open Procreate, you will see only this tab in procrad. For example, if you hold this and withholding your two fingers, move it to the middle and swipe it to bigger or smaller size, you can open it or preview it and drop back. And at the right top, you will see the new Cavas options. You can use the manual one or create your own Covas with this we top plus button, and you need to select the wild and height, and DPI should be style like this because it is really great for digital painting. And I use the color profile at the SRGB because display a the first one display P three makes the painting so we brand and it's optimized for the iPads. So I want to everyone see the right color at the Android or Windows devices. So I selected to SRGB, and you can play with the quality of the time lab settings here or with these properties. Thanks again and see you in the next step. 3. Procreate Layer Basics: Welcome. In this part, we will talk about layers. Layers is similar to transparent papers, like the only painted area will be visible at the searchin layer. For example, I opened tree layer, and we will paint the red square at first, just like this. And maybe green one under it. And orange one at the layer one. So basically, if you check it, the red is in the top, and it covers all other layers. And if I move it with the move tool and hide it here, it will be hidden. And if I make it here like this, it will be under it. And if you hold with your one finger and swipe it, to the hold and move it. I'm shifting it here at the top, and now it is on the top. And for example, if I want to make it delate, swipe your finger to the left. And in this menu, you can duplicate or delate. I will select the late. And you can on off with this tick here to layer, make visible or unvisible. And if you click this button, you will see advanced settings for you can play with the layer mode like some of them making your layer much more vibrant and some of them makes your layer much more darker. And the normal one is the default one, and opacity is how transparent it is. For example, if I make it zero, it will be non visible. And if you want to only paint the selected area, like I want to only paint this red circle. So have one time to do layer three, select Alpha log, and you will only paint will be able to paint this pixel area. And in this menu, you can invert to color or masket. Mask works like this. I will duplicate it, and I will make it like this and make this mask. And if you paint the masket area with black, it dilates it like masking it. And if you paint with white again, it makes it visible. And the other part, if you select the clipping mask, it will only affect to the under layer, like it is connected to it. For example, I painted here. It only affects the painted area like this area because it is masked. If I open another live layer and clipping mask, it will only affect this layer and you can always change the layer mode of it. And if you want two layers group, you need to swipe your finger to the left for selection and select group. And you can rename or ungroup it or flatten it. Flatten it makes the layers combine and makes it one layer. But after it, you can't make them separate again. Thank you again for joining this part. 4. Procreate Interface Basics: M Welcome again. In this part, we will talk about quick shapes. Basically, quick shapes is easier way for create lines. For example, I painted one line like this and I hold my pencil. Then it creates a really great amount of arch. For example, if I paint much more line like this, it creates really perfect line. And if you press with your other finger while holding the pencil, you can rotate it like much more effectively, like clockwise. And like it is 19 degrees and like this. And if you paint circle like this and hold, it makes ellipse. But if you hold with the other finger while holding the pencil, it creates perfect circle. And you can tap here and you will see these options. You can play with the shape and edit it. And for example, if I paint square like this, and I hold the other pencil like this. It creates perfect square, and you can change the shape easily like this. Polyline is much more free form of it. And basically, it is quick shape. And let's talk about the gestures. For example, if I paint line like this, but I didn't like it, tap two secren with two finger. It makes undo. If you use three finger, it's redo. Three finger is redo. Redo and two finger is undo. And if you tap with forefinger, it makes full screen, just like this. And for B, again, tap with forefinger. And if you swipe your forefinger or 1 minute. Yeah, if you swipe with your three finger left to right, quickly, it clears all layer. Just like this. And if you press with your fingers, it opens the color picker. And if you use your two fingers and I mean three finger and pull your fingers down together like three finger down like this. It creates this tab, and it is the quick tab for cut, copy all duplicate cut paste and paste. Basically, it was the quick shapes and gestures and see you in the next video. 5. Painting Concept Art; Sketching Scene: Welcome. In this part, we will paint basic concept art in procreate. At first, I selected this blue color for my background. And I will use different kind of brushes like maybe a bit white tons at some grounds for make it much more Air, for example, these parts will be not flat color. So I'm adding much more colors here for create it much more realistic air. And after it, I will start to paint grass and for it, I will use some textured brush and at first, do not rush into any detail. Just try to be experimental and think, like, much more simple and try to put the forms. For example, this part will be much more lighter here and maybe another grass textures here will be much more appear. And this part will be dark maybe just like this. And for away, I want to put some mountains And it is at the faraway, so we need to make it much more less visible, just like this. And maybe we have one house here. Like at this place, we have house just like this. Like village and top of it we'll have the texture like this and this part will be darker and maybe have the details here, just like this. And maybe we have another building here under it and much more bigger here. Here just like this. And this part will be darker, just like this. And at faraway, there can be different kind of building ser like covering the area. And I will add some dirtier, like. At first, we design it how it looks and after it, I will go to gradient map and we'll play with the gradient to make it much more scannery. Yeah, this is much more good and I will play with the curves and make it much more dramatic here and we'll add some extra colors and well down the brightness. After it, we need to paint the tails. I open another new layer and I will go over here and play with the color. 6. Painting Concept Art; Adding Colors: Yeah. And we have the door of it, just like this and maybe some, like this. And another top here have another building here like Hessel maybe, and we'll increase the detail level here. Yeah. Maybe we have some smoke comes out from this part and let's start playing with the grass. I will play with the grass here a bit much more. Just like this. And I will increase the detail level of the grass. This part will be really detailed here, just like this. Yeah. And some grasses here can be much more bigger and darker for give it a really realistic look. And I will play with colors here, and I will select the much more vibrant color to make it like a wet effect in here. And maybe we have one tree here just like this. Yeah. And after these details, I want to make this place much more visible because it is really dark and we need some lights over here. For example, it can down here like this and like this. With these colors, I'm defining how the light reacts to places and I will go to the adjustments and I will give a bit, much more noise for make this again much more dipped and glitch no, no, not glitch, sorry, chromatic abrication a bit for make it much more interesting. And now I will select smooth shading brush and will open another nive layer with screen layer mode and we select a bit much more discolor and we apply here like this. This effect give us a really good vibrans and we can use it as a light source and build our details much more quicker. Just like this. And maybe we have one character here, like at this place, maybe. 7. Adding Details: Yeah. And I will make it much more smaller and will play with the shape of it for make it much more adapt to the screen just like this. And we also play with different kind of brush for make it much more interesting just like this. Yeah, I like this. And I will put one soldier here just like this and zoom here. And as you can see, we need to make this part much more small and maybe here. Okay. And this part will be like this. Yeah. It is better right now, right? And comes like this. It is in the shadow, so we will not see her details, but we can play with some details or make it much more visible. For example, it can have helmets like this and maybe some dark armor details here for make it a bit interesting and Yeah, maybe one plex here, just like this. And I will open another new layer and we give a light to our soldier here. Maybe a bit yellowish. Light comes from here. Yeah, just like this. It is looking really nice right now. And maybe we can put much more figures here. And the four figures will be less saturated because of the colors, maybe some figures here like this together waiting for the soldier or something and I combine the layers together and go to the curves. And I will play with the curves a bit much more for make the skin much more realistic and zoom in here and now it is the fun part. We will paint the soldiers helmet just like this. It will be much more detailed in the stage. We don't see her face because it is look towards the backwards. But we can see maybe, like, Barbut look for helmets like this. And some armor details here. And we'll put the background child here, just like this, maybe dark like this and some details over here, just like this. For horse, we need to define the portrait of the horse. For example, how the face of it looks just like this. I will put here much more details and hair here. 8. Complete Illustration: Yeah, and other details will be visible like this. Maybe this feed will be fixed like this. I delete this and making it much more flat and in the dark because the details of the horse can't be so much visible here because he comes from the shadow and okay, maybe we can increase the small details here. Like grass details. And you can play with organic brushes here. Like wild grasses maybe look really nice here. And yeah, it's looking great with the tail. You can play with the different kind of brushes or give a really interesting textures to the painting. For example, I try to play with this or give much more artistic look here. Yeah, like this. And maybe Abt allows here. Like flowers here. Maybe this detail, again, can be water, you know, because, sorry. Because it looks like water. I want to make this water much more vibrant here, just like this comes like this and some reflections here, just like this. Yeah, now it looks much more better, even better. And let's check what we can do here. Like wood wood texture we can use here as a texture of this place can be wooden and We can put some clouds. Flames is much more better for this scene. So we can make some flames here, like this is foreseen, like it is burning and dangerous here. Like smoke comes over all place and like, totally worsen. And there will be really black smokes because everything is messed up. And some particles in the air like this, and the soldiers, maybe there is much more soldiers here. Like they would their commander here, maybe targeting something here. Maybe with row. And many soldiers is here. For example, you can make them like really just silhouettes. But they have some guns here, like or heat helmets, for example, you can increase the details of this illustration. And thanks a lot for joining this quick concept painting and see you in the next videos.
