1. Hello!: Hey, my name is
Christine and welcome to a new Procreate
illustration course. You will learn how
to easily create a very funny and
expressive monkey relaxing in the
tropical forests you will find how useful those
basic procreate tools are and how easy it can be
to create with their health. You'll get to use a limited
color palette in order to create a very bright
and beautiful contrast. You don't need any previous
knowledge of using Procreate. You will get all the guidance needed to complete
this illustration. All you need for this
course is the iPad, the Apple pencil, and
the procreate app. If you are ready
to have a fun time creating a lovely little monkey. Welcome to this course.
2. Background: For this wonderful illustration, you will want to create
in your procreate app a new canvas that has 4
thousand by 4 thousand pixels. This will give you 12
beautiful layers to work with. Now that the canvas is created, let's see what colors
you will need. The color palette is
called Coffee time and can be found on the resource
page of the course. This color palette is
created to offer you plenty of interesting
and unique colors. The two brushes you will
use are the textures, KV brush and the inking brush. The two brushes can be found on the resource page of
the course as well. Now the first step for
creating the background, it's setting the
background color for that. You will first want
to go to the layers and selecting the
background color layer. You'll want to choose
from the color palette, the beautiful light blue
from the bottom middle side. Now that the color of
the background, etc, you will want to create
a beautiful gradient on the background to
create the sense of air in your illustration. Before doing that,
you will want to make sure the first
layer is selected. Then you want to go
to the color palette and pick the beautiful light
gray from below the white. And for the brush, you will want to
go to the textures and select the
textured KV brush. Now before starting to
create the gradient, Let's make sure the
size of the brush is at 100% and the flow is
rather low to around 20%. And now starting from the top of the canvas and using
horizontal moves, you will apply this
beautiful gray. Just a few light passes
with your pen and a little granulations of
the background will appear. Now the background
scenes ready for the first background elements for creating more details
on the background, you will first want to
go to the Layers and create a new one on
top of the others. After this, for the color, you will pick from the palate, the dark green from
the top left side. This will make a
beautiful color for some trees that will
form a feeling of a tall forest for creating the drawing of the trees you will want to grep
from the brushes, the elegant alone brush
with the Amman brush. You will want to increase
in size to about 50%. And now you are ready to
draw the first three. You will start drawing this tree from the
middle right side of the top edge with a vertical line that reaches
the bottom of the Canvas. After you have traced the line, hold the pencil down until the line becomes
nice and straight. After this, you can press the edit button from the top and drag the line outside the canvas so the line can close on top. Now that the left
side of the tree is that you will want
to draw the right side, making one more parallel line
with the one from before. Hold the pencil down until
the line is straight as well. And then you can press once more the Edit button and
extend the line outside the canvas
so the shape of the tree can close with
the edge of the canvas. Now you can drag the
color from the corner and fill the space
between the two lines. Now the trunk of the
tree is finished. Now you will create some beautiful and
loose branches that leave from the tree trunk. You will start with two
branches on the top right side, very small and thin. Living from the
top of the canvas and linking with
his trunk through a smooth curve that
is thinner on the top and thicker at the bottom
wherever it meets the tree. Now let's create one
more beautiful branch, living from the first
and going to the right. Now you can move to the
left side of the branch. And as before, leaving from
the top of the canvas, you will draw a long thin line parallel with a tree trunk. These branches are thicker as they slowly
become horizontal. And now you will move back to the right side
of the tree and draw one more curved line for a long and beautiful branch, living from the top
with a thin line that gets thicker as it reaches
the trunk of the tree. Now let's get closer
to the top of this branch and draw
one more curved line. Zooming out. It seems like the tree can hold one more pair of branches
to the left side. So you will draw outside the
other branches one more very wide curve that will make the tree seem very
tall and beautiful. And now let's create one more curved line on
the top side of this one. And with this, the shape
of the first three is then to make it look like it's
a bit further in the back, you will want to decrease
the opacity of this layer. For that, you will
go to the layers and press with two fingers on
the layer of the tree. You'll want to decrease the
opacity of the layer by sliding your fingers to the
left side to about 50%. After this is done, you will want to create
one more tree with the help of the first
four that you will go to the layers and
duplicate the layer of the tree by dragging
it to the left side. Now with a new layer selected, you will use the move tool to firstly flip the
layer horizontally. Then setting the move
tool on the uniform, you will drag the secondary
to the left side. After you have found the
position on the left side, you will use the
Freeform tool to modify a little
bit of its shape. So it doesn't look exactly
like the one from before. So let's drag it down
from the bottom, a little bit from
the top as well. And now let's make
it beautiful and wide by dragging its
edge to the left side. Let's now use the uniform
tool once more to adjust this position and
drag it to the right so it can appear more in
the middle of the Canvas. Now for the end, you will use the eraser
to get rid of the branch from the bottom that is
getting over the other one. Let's make the brush nice and big and the erase the
rest of the branch. Being careful not to chip this thread and beautiful
line of the tree. And then you can
move the canvas and the eraser rest of
the two branches. And now you are then creating the background and the two
trees of the background. Let's move to the next step
and create the three from the background on which
the monkey is sitting.
3. Main Tree: For creating the next three, you will have the firstly
go to the Layers and create a new layer on
top of the other ones. Then from the colors
you will need the same dark green used
before for the trees. Let's make sure the
brush is selected. And now you can create
a beautiful tree on the left side of the canvas
that you will create a vertical line living
from the top side Over the middle of the tree from the background as before, hold the pencil down until
the straight line is created. Then you can use the edit
shape to drag the line to the top and the bottom until
it gets outside the canvas. After this is done, you
can drag the color from the corner and fill the tree
trunk from the left side. Now you will draw beautiful
branch that leaves from the top right side of the
canvas to the bottom left side, where it means the tree trunk. First, let's go to the
bottom left side and indicate the thickness of the
branch from the lower side. As it reaches the
top right side, the branch will become thinner. Let's make the two
edges of the branch a little bit closer
to one another. Now let's link the four lines, starting with the one from the top-left side with a
very lively curved line. And now let's create the second line on the
back of the first, parallel with the first. And now you will
want to complete the rest of the
segment of the branch. Let's link the two
lines from the top with a slightly curved line and the one from
the bottom as well. This is where the
monkey will sit. And now they're the two
sides of the branch are closed with the tree trunk
and the top of the canvas, you can grab the
color from the corner and fill the shape of
it with this color. And now you have a
beautiful main branch with which you can play an ad. As for the other trees, some beautiful branches
on the top right side. Let's first make sure all the
counter is nice and smooth. And then you are ready
to create the branches. After you made sure the branch has a nice and smooth shape, you are ready to place
the little branches. So let's add one branch on
the outside to the right, making sure the branch is thinner on the top and
thicker at the bottom. Now let's add one
more beautiful branch on the left side of
the main branch, making it a bit shorter. Later, this will be a very useful branch for
the monkey to hold onto. And now let's add one more little twig on the
top-left side of this one. This part of the branches
look a little bit empty. So let's add one more thin
and beautiful branch. And of course, if you want, you can go to the top side of the tree trunk and add
some more thin twigs that, and on the top-left
side of the canvas, you will want to
keep this part of the illustration as minimalistic
and simple as you can. So you can later
add elements that will beautiful way pop
out from the background. Now let's go to the
next step and add some beautiful textures over the tree from the foreground.
4. Tree Textures: And now that the background
is almost finished, you will want to add the on
the tree from the front, some beautiful textures
that will make it seem look a bit more
close to the viewer. For that, you'll
want to go to make sure you are on the
layer of the tree. Now going to the color palette, you will use the
beautiful brand from the bottom left side
for these textures. Let's not forget about choosing the elegant and versatile
brush from inking. For this simple wood textures, you'll want to firstly make
a selection of the tree so your brush marks can remain
limited to the tree surface. And now you are ready to create some beautiful wood textures. Firstly, lowering the opacity of the brush to create a
bit of transparency. This way they will easily
integrate into the wood color. Now as for the branches, you will create some
curved lines that go parallel with a tree side. Let's place to beautiful
lines on the top, making them thicker as they reach the
counter of the tree. Let us get closer and pressing lightly on
the pen less place one more beautiful curved line on top of the little branch. Now let's zoom out and create the vertical line on the left edge of the
canvas over the tree. Let's leave from the
bottom of the canvas with vertical line that
reaches the top. Hold the pencil down
and now you can edit the shape to stretch it and
make it perfectly vertical. Let's add one more beautiful
line on the bottom to create another stripe
of this width texture. You can take your time to add as many textures as you want, but don't overdo it. Keep the pattern symbol
and the composition light. Now let's add one more curve, living from the middle of the tree edge and going to
the bottom of the canvas. Let's not forget
about the branches. So let's get closer
to the left side of the canvas and
add some stripes across the little branch to integrate it into the
look of the tree. Now let's move to the top
right side of the canvas and create across the
branch some loose stripes. As you can see, because of the selection made
over the tree, it is very easy to
create these stripes. Make them of different
sizes and direction to create an organic look
for your beautiful tree. And with this, you have finished creating the textures
for your beautiful tree. Let's move to the next step and start creating the
beautiful monkey.
5. Monkeys Head: In this step, you'll
begin creating the monkeys starting
with its head, because the main color
of the illustration, they'll now it's blue. You will want to create a beautiful
complimentary contrast by giving the monkey a bright
and beautiful orange color. Let's start by going to the layers and create a new
one on top of the others. After this, let's pick
from the color palette, the beautiful middle orange
from the bottom left side. If you want to make your
monkey of a different color, make sure you choose
a bright color and three nuances of it for
highlights and shadows, starting with this orange, Let's get closer
to the middle of the Canvas between the branch of the tree trunk and create a beautiful circle
in the middle. Let's firstly make sure the brush is selected
and let's now increase the flow and decrease the size of the brush
to have more control. It doesn't need to be a
perfectly uniform circle because you will later
add details this edges. And now let's grab
the color from the corner and fill the
circle with this color. Now, after the circle is done, you will create two beautiful
ears for the monkey. One on the right side, a bit higher than the middle. And after the shape is, then you can fill its
shape with color. You can make them around
there if you want, as long as you
like how it looks. Now you will move to the
left side on the middle of the circle and add a beautiful C-shaped
for the next year, making sure you close its
shape on the circle counter. And now you can grab
the color wants more and fill the
shape of the year. After the two ears are created, you will make some hair locks on the contour of the face to
make it seem like first, let's start by placing
on top of its head some beautiful thin hairs going from the middle
to the right side, making them thinner on top and thicker on
the bottom side. Let's move to the left
side of the head and create going to the left
side some thin hairs. Press lighter when
you touch the screen and then harder as you
approach the head. Just a couple more hairs will be enough to make the hair
look like it's Harry. No need to cover all the surface of the
circle with hairs. And now you will move
on the bottom side of the circle and create
some hairs going down. So they've seen longer. Let us begin from below
the ear, from the right, living from inside the circle and finishing with a thin tip. Now let us get closer to the left side of the
head and make short. The left side of the head gets a couple of these
beautiful hairs. This time because of
the shape of the brush, you will have to make
the hairs backwards, living from below the
shape towards it. Getting closer to the
chin of the monkey, you will add a couple more
hairs on the right side. Now between the two sides, Let's create a beautiful
triangle shape to create that
middle lock of hair. And now that the shape of
the monkeys had is done, now you will create some
beautiful highlights over the middle side of
his face that you will have to go to the
color palette and pick the lighter nuance of orange
from the bottom left corner. Now from the brushes
you will grab the textured Quibi brush
before creating the highlight. Let's make sure the fluids at above 50% and the size a bit
lower to have more control. Now starting from the middle of the face and not
lifting the pen, you will create this
ramp texture shape before moving to the
edge of the headless. Firstly, make a
selection of the head. Firstly, making a selection of the orange color
from underneath. And now let's grab
the whole texture created in the middle
by holding the pen down and sliding your pen to the right until the
selection is made. After this, let's grab the brush from the top so you can be able to create this texture on the left side
of the heads edge. Go around the texture, the shape created
using a lower flow to create a smooth transition
between the two colors. Go around the shape and take your time creating
this transition. It looks like the
shape of the head wouldn't mind some
bolder highlights. So let's increase the flow
of the brush to maximum and start adding in the middle of the face this bright
orange color. This is much better. Let us go around and
create this highlight in the middle of the face over
the texture from before. Let's decrease the opacity maybe a little bit
too once more, create that smooth transition, keeping this middle
nuance of orange around the right side of the head a little bit more
than the left side. So the head may appear more
light at on the left side. As you will further see, this rule will apply to
all the monk his body, not only the face. Look at the beautiful
round shape graded with the help
of these textures. Very easy to create the feeling
of volume over the shape. To accentuate the round
look of the head, you will now apply
just a tiny bit of shadow over a couple of hairs. Solars go to the
color palette and pick the brown from the
right side of the orange. Getting closer, you will
start adding a little bit of this shadow over the
edges of the bottom hairs, making sure you keep the brown color away
from the bright orange. So you can keep a
beautiful and delicate the gradient between the
three nuances of orange. As you can see, the brown
is applied very lightly around the shapes of it just sit a little bit on the edges. You can add a little
bit of this brown on the bottom of the
right ear and on the left ear as well to signal a little bit of
the bottom of the ear. And with this, you
have finished creating the main shape of
the monkey's head. You will later gray the
features of the monkey and they'll then let's continue with the main shape of his body.
6. Body Shape: Now that you have created
the head of the monkey, you will get to create its
body shape below the head, a bit to the left side
to create the body. As for the head, you'll begin by adding a new layer on
top of the other ones. Now going to the brushes, you will go to inking
and select the brush, wants more to
create the drawing. Now from the color palette, you will want to pick the
beautiful middle orange used previously for the head. At the beginning you will
create a beautiful curved line. That means the top of
the branch getting a little bit over it as well. At the bottom of the line, Let's add a curve to signal
the bottom of the monkey. This will be the direction of the monkeys back
and the bottom. So now you will continue by adding the two
sides of the back. In the end, the body should have something like a
water drop shape. So let's start with the
edge from the left, creating a curve living from
the line from the bottom and handing inside the shape of the head around this bottom, Let's hold the pen down
until the curve becomes movable and adjust its position
until it's nicely band. And now the control of
the back is created. Let's make one more line on the right side so you
can close the shape. Living from the
bottom right side. Let's complete the shape of the water drop on top
with a wavy line. After this is done, you will start grading the
thigh of the monkeys leg directed upwards to signal the flexed position of the leg. For that you will live
from near the bottom of the middle line angle
to the right side with a curved line to signal
the top of the thigh. Now from below it's
back you will add one more curve that closes
at the top of the other one, creating a beautiful
oval like shape. Now as for the bottom
of the monkey, you will place a smaller oval on the right side of the branch, the signal, the
ankle of the monkey. After this displaced, you
will create two lines going up forming something like a rectangle with the
end of the thigh. Now you will close
the shape of the leg with the food of the
monkey making that line from the bottom
going in the back of the tree and the top
of the fruit as well. And with this, you have finished creating the contour
of the body. The second leg will
not be visible as its position is in
the back of the body. So let us now fill the
shape of the body, making sure all the segments
are filled with color. Take your time to make
sure the entire shape has beautiful conjures and there are no little spaces
left and colored. Let's get a bit closer
and make the back of the thigh a bit thicker to
make the line straight there. And now let's add a bit
more contour on the top of the leg to accentuate
the angle of the knee. And with this, you have finished creating the main
shape of the body. You will continue
the monkey with the beautiful and long tail and the textures of the
tail and the body.
7. Body Textures: Now that the shape
of the body is done, you are ready to create the
beautiful and long tail of this playful monkey
that you will once more used the beautiful among brush to create the
contour of the tail. Now using the same
gorgeous orange color, you will create the first curve, living from the middle
of the branch going towards the bottom right
side of the canvas, and then moving back up to
the bottom of the monkey, hold the pencil down until a beautiful way curved
line is graded. Now as you can see, you can edit this shape
to make sure the curve is closing on the edge of the branch and on the
end of the monkey, adjust the line until you are satisfied with its position. And now you will want to create one more curved line on
top of the last one, living from the bottom
of the monkey and moving up to the branch
parallel with the last one. Hold the pencil Dan. And now once more makes
sure the line closes on the contour of the monkeys back and on the contour
of the branch, as you will see, the end of the tail will come around the branch
on its left side. So for now you'll want to close the shape of the tail on
the contour of the branch. Let's get closer to the
end of the tail and take your time to close the
beautiful shape of the tail. After this is done, you can grab the
orange color from the corner and fill
the shape of the tail. Look at the beautiful
tail of this monkey. Let's get closer to the end of the tail and create its end. Continuing the line from the bottom over the
branch and then climbing back up and closing the shape of the tail
back on the branch. Now the tail appears
to grab the branch. Let's get closer and
close the shape of the tail and with the
contour of the branch. And then you can grab the
color and fill the shape. Now that the shape of
the tail is finished, Let's grab the
eraser and make sure there is now orange color
showing over the branch. After this is then,
you can take the brush wants more and add
around the tails, capture some little hairs
to create that Harry, look. Let's zoom in on the top
of the tail and create some hairs over the black
color of the branch. Just a couple of hairs on the inside part of
the tail as well. Let's zoom out and look for another place for a
couple of more hairs. Let's say here and now you will zoom in over the middle of the tail and place a couple of more hairs over the darker
side of the background. Let's place on top
side a couple of more hares moving
over the bottom of the monkey to make sure
the counter is beautifully done and the line
is nice and smooth. Now, you will move over another unfinished
control of the monkey. Let's say over the
knee of the monkey and create a couple more
hares going outside. And now let's create a couple of more hair locks over
the hill as well. With this, the shape of the
body and the tail is done. Now you are ready to create some wonderful and vibrant
highlights over those shapes. For that, Let's use
the selection tool on automatic to make a selection
of the body and the tail. After you have successfully
made the selection, you'll go to the brushes and going to the textured brushes, you will grab the
beautifully textured brush. Now let's go to the
color palette and grab the bright orange from
the bottom left corner. Let's check the flow if it's low enough and make the size
of the brush bigger. And now let's start creating a very delicate highlight over the left side of
the back to bring just a little bit
of light firstly, and now that you know where
you will place the light, Let's get closer and
lowering the size m, bringing up the flow, you will start to
apply the highlight, not lifting the pen, accentuating the
highlights from the back. Now let us get closer to the
top of the thigh and place a beautiful and long
highlight directed towards the bottom of the monkey and
towards the knee as well, creating a beautiful
and bright highlight to signal the round
volume of the thigh. Don't make it much more
lighter than the back. Now let's grab this
beautiful orange and play sunlight over
the top of the tail on the left side of
the branch and go lightly towards the
tip to fade the light. Let's place just a bit
more light over the TPP. And now you'll want
to play some of this slide over the
middle of the tail. Let's increase the size
of the brush and start placing the slide over
the middle of the tail. Now let's get a bit
closer to the back of the monkey and play a little
bit more with the light, may be making the brush
one more time smaller and accentuating the light from the back and the thigh
a little bit more. And with a couple
of more touches, you are ready for some
little shadows as well. For that, let's go to the
color palette and grab the beautiful brown from the
right side of the orange. Now let us get closer to the
belly of the monkey implies a small shadow using a small brush size
and a smaller flow. Tried to not go over the
light orange color to keep the gradient created
by the three nuances. Now going lower on the belly, Let's make sure the brush is smaller to have a
bit more precision. And now let's play some of these beautiful brown right next to the light orange from the top of the thigh to create a
wonderful contrast, try to keep the round
look of the thigh. After this is done, Let's move over the
back of the leg and bringing up the size and
the flow of the brush. And let's create a little
bit more shadow over here. And now you want to
play some more of this brown over the tail on the
right side of the branch. Let's decrease the
size of the brush and play some of these
delicate shadow, maybe a little bit
more in the back of the leg and over
the food as well. And the body of the
monkey is done. Look at those beautiful
shapes you've created. Let's move to the
next step and create two beautiful arms for
this playful monkey.
8. Hands Shape: Now the body of the
monkey is done. You are ready to create
some beautiful arms for it. For that, Let's firstly under the selection made over
the body of the monkey. Now let us go to the
layers and wreck the layer of the head on top of
the one of the body. After this between the
body and the head layers, you will create one more layer. Having this layer selected, you'll grab from the brushes, the inking, our mom brush to create the shape
of the first arm. Now from the color palette, Let's grab once more the beautiful orange
from the middle. Now you're ready to draw. Let's get closer
to the bottom of the head, over the chest. And at the beginning let's create the
direction of the arm, starting with line directed
towards the bottom of the monkey and ending
before meeting the thigh. Now going to the top right, you will create one more line for the forearm of the monkey. As you can see, the forearm is somehow parallel with the thigh. And now let's create
the direction of the big thumb and the top of the fingers to create an idea of how the monkey is
holding its hand. Now you are ready to create
the volumes of the hand. For that you will create an
oval shape over the arm, starting with a curved line on top of the arm
for the shoulder. Then you will descend
on its left side, making the oval thinner
as you get to the elbow. Now let's close the
shape back on top. Now let's grab the color from the corner and fill the shape. After this, Let's get closer to the forearm of the
monkey and create a parallel line
with the one from before to give it a
little bit of volume. And after this, you can
fill the shape with color. Now, let's play a
little bit with the contour of the hand,
starting with elbow. Let's start making the
elbow a bit edgier. Now let us go back
to the arm and give it a little bit more
thickness on the bottom. Take your time to create more refinements over
the shape of the arm, maybe making it look a bit
more elongated on top as well. Now let's move over
the hand and give it a little bit of
thickness over the palm, connecting the wrist,
the top of the hand. And now let's fill the rest
of the shape with color. The next thing you will
want to do is go over the big thumb and give it a little bit of
thickness as well, keeping the shapes simple, creating a novel on the left and the straight line
on the right side. You will later get the
chance to modify its shape. Now, the next thing
you'll want to do is to create the second arm with the help of the first four that you will have
to go to the layers. And having selected
the layer of the arm, you will drag the layer to the left and press
the duplicate button. Now you have a new
layer with the second are having the second
arm layer selected, you will want to move it over to another place and
change his position. For that, you will want to
select the move tool from the top and then flip it vertically with the
bottom from the left. Now you can drag the arm to the top of the head
where you will want to rotate it by dragging the button from the
bottom to the right. This will make the R&B directed towards the branch from
the top-right corner. Let's drag it towards the
branch until it reaches it. Don't worry about the
top side of the hand. Just make sure that arm is beautifully directed
towards the branch. As you can see, the arm
continues the beautiful shape of the back and is directed towards the top right
corner of the canvas. Now that you are satisfied
with the position of the arm, you can undo the Move tool. Now is time to get read
of the top of the arm. Let's grab the eraser and now
going through the layers, Let's drag the layer on top of the head so it can
be entirely visible. Now let us move closer and
erase the top side of the arm, the side that does
not correspond with the second arm direction. And with this, the shape
of the two arms are done. Let's move to the next step and create some beautiful shadows over their shape and maybe play some more with
the little hands.
9. Hands and Banana: Now that the shape of the
two hands is decided, you are ready to continue their
beautiful transformation. Let's firstly go
to the layers and drag the layer of the
arm from the top below the head so you can
hide the part of the arm that is coming
in front of the head. And now let's get closer
to the hand and make sure the color is the right
one and the brush as well. And now let's start by grabbing the eraser and getting closer. Let's erase the part of the hand that it's coming
over the branch. You will want to make
the hands seem like his coming from the
back of the branch. That this is done. Let's grab the brush and add the beautiful curve
over the top of the hand to signal the top of the little fingers coming
around the branch. Now, let's add on top of the
thumb as well a bit more of this color over the branch to make it seem like it's
nicely holding it. Now, let's grab the eraser, making sure you erase any lethal mistakes
left around the canvas. And now let's go to
the top of the canvas and make sure the size
of the brush is smaller. You may want to cut
a little bit of the hands thickness from the top cutting with
two or three lines, the curved line of the hand. It seems like the arm could wrap around the branch
a little bit more. So let's take the brush and
extend the end of the arm covering the branch entirely if you didn't make it too thick, of course, make the
hand look may be a bit thinner as it
gets to its end. And now the hand
looks beautiful. You wrapped around the branch. If you want, you can go over it once more and make
sure you give it some beautiful straight
lines on top to signal the fingers wrapped
around the branch. And after this is done, you are ready to create
some shadows over this arm. For that, let's go to the color palette and
grab the beautiful brown. After this, let's grab ones, warn the textured brush, and then let's make a
selection of the arm so you can freely create
shadows over its shape. Grabbing again the
brush, Let's play. Some of these beautiful shadows are adding from behind the head, making it very accentuated to be clear that it's
behind the head. You can as well place a little
bit of this brown texture, shadow over the hand on top, shadowing just a little bit
of the top side of the hand. Now this arm is done as well. Let's move to the
next one and create some beautiful details for that, you will want to make sure that the layer of the
Second Army selected. And now you can start with
some beautiful highlights. So let's get from
the color palette, the beautiful bright yellow
from the bottom left corner. After this, let's
make a selection of the urn on automatic. And then you can grab the brush getting a bit closer
to the top of the arm. As for the back of the monkey, you will place on the left side of the arm a
beautiful highlight, living a bit of orange from
underneath on the left edge. Now let's go over
the arm as well, highlighting the top edge of it. Let's get over the
two shapes once more, making them a bit more luminous. Now, it is the time for
some delicate shadows. For that, you will want to
go to the color palette and grab the beautiful brown
from next to the orange. Now starting from the
right side of the arm, going down over the forearm, extend to match the shadow. Keep it nice and sharp
on the arms edges. Let's place a little
bit of shadow on the bottom of the forearm
going towards the elbow. And now let's shadow
the left side of the forearm to get those
shadows a bit more uniform. Don't make the shadow
too pronounced. Just make sure the arm casts nice shadow over the forearm. Now you will make a
beautiful and round shadow over the elbow to make the
arm same a bit more round. The highlight from the arm
looks a bit too indecisive. So let's grab one's more
of a highlight color. And now you will cast the beautiful and bright
highlight over the top side of the arm on the
left side because it seems a bit darker
than the back. Now this arm is done as well, and it's time to play with
a hand of the monkey. So let's go to the
Layers and create a new layer on top
of the last hand. Now you will want to grab
the beautiful yellow from the top right side
and pick from the brushes, the elegant our mom brush. Now let's get
closer to the hand. As you've made guess
you will place a beautiful banana in this hand. So for that, let's place a little line for the
top of the banana. And now let's create
two curved lines. The one from the bottom, pink, a bit more curved
than the other one. Then you can link the two lines through a little
line on the bottom. Let's fill the
shape of the banana with the color from the corner. And now let's make a little stem for the banana on the
bottom side of it, like a little triangle
getting outside. And with this, you have finished creating the shape
of the banana. Now it is time for some details. For that, you will want
to use the Move tool and play a little bit with the
shape of the banana may be making it a little
bit more curved by dragging up the bottom
side of it and making it stops smaller and maybe
making it appear more wider by dragging outside
the two sides of the banana. Now that you've played a
little bit with its shape, Let's make a selection
of the banana. And now going to the color
palette on the value page, you'll want to decrease the
brightness of the color. So you may create the
beautiful shadow color. Now after decreasing the
brightness to about half, Let's get closer to the banana and increasing the
size of the brush. You will place a beautiful
and wide shadow on the bottom side of it
over its tail as well. Now for some more details, you will want to increase the
flow of the brush to 100%. And now let's grab from
the color palette, the orange used for
the monkeys drumming. Now let's place on its top a little bit of this
color to signal its top. And the little width of color on the bottom as well
to signal the stem. Now let's place a
curve going over the banana and one more living from the bottom and
going to the top. And now you can unmake the
selection of the banana. The banana, it's complete. Let's go to the layers
and read the layer with the banana below
the one of the hand. And now that the bananas
stays in the monkey's hand, it is time to wrap its
hand around the banana. For that, you will want to go to the layers and select
the layer of the hand. Now using the eraser, Let's cut a little bit of
the inside part of the hand, starting with a little
curve on the thumb. Now it's time to cut a little
bit of the poem as well, creating a beautiful
curve to make the bananas seem
much more round. And now you can move
over the fingers and cut a little bit out of
the round shape of them. With this, the second
arm is done as well. Congratulations on
your great work. Now let's go to
the next step and create the monkeys features.
10. Monkeys Features: In this step, you will create
the features of the monkey. For that, you'll want to go to the layers and select
the layer of the face. After this, let's make sure
the brush is selected. And then let's go to
the colors and grab the beautiful light blue
from the bottom middle side. And now you will get
closer to the middle of the face where the
features will be placed. Now before starting to draw, you will want to go to
the Layers and create a new layer on top of
the one of the head. And on this layer you
will create the features. Let's firstly place a
beautiful line across the face to signal the
middle of his face. This line will be inclined a little bit to the right side. After this living from
the top of the line, you will create on
each of its sides, firstly, a C-shape on the left, closing back on the line, and now on the other side
are reversed C-shape, making sure it's around the
same size as the other one. Now let's grab the color from the corner and fill
the two shapes created on the surface of the two shapes you will
place it's two eyes. Now on the bottom
side of the face, you will create another
shape to frame its mouth. For that you will
live from between the two shapes with a curvy triangle
surrounding the line. And now going back
between the two shapes. And now let's grab the color and fill the new shape created. As you may see, is face
look like a clover? Now, let's take
the time to adjust its shape and make sure it
has a beautiful contour. And now it is the time to place a beautiful highlight
on the blue shape. For that, you will
firstly wanted to make a selection
of the blue shape. Let's grab the brush and
select from the colors, the middle gray from
below the white. Now you will pick from the
brushes, the textured brush. You will create the
delicate highlight in the middle of the face. Let's decrease the flow
of the brush so you can progressively
build this highlight. Let's start from the middle of the face and not
lifting the pen, you will create this
highlight using round motions to progressively
expand the highlight. After the first
layer is created, lift the pen and
create a new one using the same circular motions, making sure each of the
three sides of the face, it gets a good amount
of this highlight. And now the highlight is done. It is time to grade the
two beautiful eyes. For that, Let's
unmake the selection of the shape and
going to the brushes, you will pick the
Amman brush once more. Now let's go to the
color palette and grab the clean white from
the top right side. Then you will
create in the shape from the left side
of beautiful circle. It doesn't need to
be perfectly round, but you can make it
like that if you want. Now let's fill the shape of
this I feeling with the pen, the entire surface of the eye. Let's get closer and get
rid of any imperfections. Now for the next I, you will want to make a
selection of the first one. And then using the
selection tool, you will make a
selection of the eye. After the panel of the
selection tool is visible, you will want to press, copy and paste to
create the second I. Now using the move tool, you will grab the second
eye away from the first and drag it over the
shape from the right side. You can as well rotate it. If it's shaped,
doesn't look pleasing. Look like this position
is the right one. And now you will
unselect the eye. Now it is time for
some beautiful pupils. For that you can go to the
layers and merge them. The layer of the second ISO, it can be on the same
layer as the face. Now you will want to go
to the color palette and grab the beautiful dark green
from the top left side. Now let us move closer
to the eye from the left and create another
circle for the pupil. And now let's move
to the eye from the right and create
one more circle. After the two
circles are created, you can fill their shape
with the same color. Take your time to get rid of the little white imperfections
from the pupils. Now, it is time for some little
highlights for the size. For Dallas grab once
more of the white from the color palette and
getting closer to the eyes, create on the edge of the
pupils still little circles, one circle for each pupil. Try to match their position. So it may seem like the light comes from the same direction. And now it is the time for
the rest of the features, very simple details that is grabbed from the
color palette once more, the dark green and get closer to the shape
from the bottom. Here you will want to place
this simple and small lines, this signal, the little
nostrils of the monkey. Now you will create a
semicircle to signal a beautiful and wide smile living from the top-left corner, going around the shape and coming back to the
top near the nose. Hold the pencil down until
the shape becomes uniform. And now the face is finished. Look at that joyful face. Now it is time for
some final details. So let's move to the
next step and create some beautiful vines
for this illustration.
11. Vines: In this beautiful
and simple step, you will create a couple of loose vines hanging from
the top of the canvas, going through the sides and the couple of beautiful
leaves on them. For that, you will firstly
want to go to the Layers and create a new layer on
top of the other ones. Before moving on, you
can take your time and merge down the layer of
the arms and the head. Make sure they are
in the right order. And then let's select the last
empty layer from the top. Now you will make sure
the hormone brush is selected and pick from
the color palette, the beautiful pink from
the middle left side. Now it is time to create some loose vines starting from the top left
side of the canvas. So you will live from the top
of the canvas with a curve that goes to the bottom
left edge of the canvas. Try to press lighter at
the beginning and then harder to make the final look why they're on its bottom side. This will make them look like they're in perspective as well. And now it is time to move to the right side and
repeat the process. Living from the top side of the canvas over the
arm of the monkey. Let's create a new one over
the left side of the canvas, over the two vines. And the shape of the
vines are ready to go. Now you'll want to go
to the layers in alpha, lock the layer of
the fines in order to create some beautiful
shadows on them. So let's go to the
color palette and grab the beautiful dark
burgundy color from the middle left side. And now let's go to
the brushes and grab the beautifully textured brush. After this, you will want to increase the flow of
the brush a little bit. And now you can apply some of this shadow on the
edge over the vines. And let's make the size a bit bigger so it can be
easier to create these shadows moving over the
one from the right as well. And then over the
top of the vines, just a couple of light passes. After this is done, you will want to go
to the color palette and grab the light
pink from the bottom right and start applying some of this pink on the top
side of the fines. And then their
surface as well to brighten up their
color a little bit. And now let's once more grabbed
from the color palette, the beautiful pink from
the middle left side, and the beautiful our mom brush. And now it is time for some
beautiful and simple leaves, very simple shape
to white curves living from the vine and
meeting in a pointy angle. Let's move to the left side
of this leaf on the top of the vine and create a new
one a little bit smaller. You don't have to
make too many leaves, just a few to break a little bit the linearity of the fines. Let's get a little bit closer
to the top-left side of the canvas and place another
little leaf going down. And now let's fill its shape. And an even smaller
one on his right side. Let's move over the
three drunk and create a new leaf hanging down to
create beautiful contrast. One more little
leaf on top of it, directed differently
than the first one. Now let's go to the
layers and once more, alpha lock the layer of
the vines and the leaves. Now you will once more
grabbed from the brushes, that textured brush and
from the color palette, the yellow from the
top right side. Now let's decrease the flow
of the brush and start applying some of these
bright yellow over defines, starting with the
delicate leaves from the bottom right side. And now let's move higher
on the left side and apply a little bit more
of this yellow color, go around the vines
and make sure the color is dispersed evenly. After this, let us give a
little bit of this color to the little vine from
the right side as well. On its top side. With this illustration
is finished. Congratulations on
your illustration and thank you for
taking the course. If we enjoyed making
this artwork, make sure you leave a
