1. Welcome! :) : Hi, my name is Christine and welcome to this colorful and lovely Procreate illustration course. In this course, you will learn how to create a great variety of plants, flowers, and the kid levels, chicken, you are going to learn some amazing tricks to improve your drawing skills and apply them in your own artwork. Each step will guide you towards a very pleasing and satisfying final result. All you need for this course is the Apple pencil, the iPad, and the procreate app. You will get to create multiple layers and play with them to explore your imagination with all of that being said, Welcome to this fun and easy Procreate course.
2. Dark leaves: For this Procreate illustration, you will first go on to create a canvas that has 4000 by 4000 pixels. Let's go to the background and set a light-colored background, maybe a little bit warmer. After that, you will start to create the first set of botanical decorations on the first layer. For this illustration, you will only need the unknown brush, but you can play with other textured brushes if you please, like the TV brush. Both of the brushes will be found on the resource page of the course. The color palette use is the nature corner also found on the resource page. Now let's start and create the first set of declarations, selecting a dark green from the top middle of the color pellet. And with the brush, you will start to create a set of leaves. Let's firstly increase the size of the brush and then you will start to shape these Elon leaves. One on the right going to the top, another one directed to the top-left corner, and another one going down. Then you can feel their forums with this beautiful dark green. Now let's add a long barrier right on the top and another leaf on its end, a little bit smaller than the others had. Now let's add another long paleo on the bottom left side. Let's zoom in a little bit and create another beautiful and simple leaf. After this, you will create some beautiful veins for these leaves. Firstly, you will want to alpha lock the layer and then select the beautiful yellow neurons from the top right corner. The first leaf from the right at the middle line, and then a couple of stripes on its left side, one line for the tiny leaf. And then let's move to the next beep leaf and do the same one line on the middle and a couple of them on the right side, a little bit thinner. And for the one from the bottom, as well as you may know, you can make thinner lines by pressing lightly on the pair. Now that the first set of leaves is done, let's make another one for more diversity.
3. Light leaves: For this, you will want to go to the Layers and create a new one, and then hide the forest. Then you will pick the color green from the top right side of the color palette. Now, as before, you will create a big leaf with two simple lines for each side of it. Let's make sure it's formed, it's closed, and now you can fill its form with green. Then you will create a long petiole on its left side and the small leaf on its end. And then you can fill the form. Let's create another long barrier on the right side of the leaf. And now you will place two leaves, one on the top left side and another one on the right, a little bit lower. Now let's get a little bit closer to the plant and add one more leaf for this bundle of leaves on the bottom left side with a little twist at the end. After these leaves are done, you will want to go to the color palette and choose the light green from the top left side, and then go on the Layers and alpha lock the layer that you're working on to create those beautiful stripes. Let's make the brush a little bit bigger. And then you can feel the left side of the leaf from the top. Now move to the other small leaf and colored the right side of it. And other simple line on the leaf from the bottom left and another one on the one from the right. And now you can zoom out and look how you can improve the aspect of these elements. So you will use this green, this beautiful light green to create a couple more details. Adding a beautiful leaf on the middle with a long burial going down. Let's zoom in a little bit and make that tip a little bit more edgy. And now let's add a couple of long petioles with some flower buds on their ends. One going to the left side, another one over the beat Lee from the middle, and another one on the right side. As you can see, it is very easy to create very different foliage. It's almost effortless and very relaxing. Now that the two types of leaves are done, Let's get into the next step.
4. Pink Flower Buds: In this step, you will create three types of flour or flower like declarations. So let's get into the color palette and choose the dark paint from the bottom middle. And then you can go to the Layers and create a new one. For this layer of vegetation, you will create some very simple and soft pink branches with some very delicate circles at their ends. If you like, you can make them bigger core of different colors. Feel free to create your own flower design. This will work on any light colored neurons. Now you will create some shadows on this simple forms to give them a sense of volume. So let's get into the colors and modify this pink by making it a little bit more saturated. Actually, this, you can start to apply this simple shadows by going over the bottom of the little buds and on the petioles to add a little bit on the bottom side, you will now create another beautiful branch. So let's go to the color palette and once more, select the light beam from before. As you can see, it is very easy to create the corporations that you can later use another illustrations or multiply the layer so you can create more of them for your artwork. So let's create this next beautiful branch with some beautiful being buds, adding as many birds as you want. Let's get a little bit closer and add one more on the bottom and another baker one onto the end of the main branch. Now let's go to the first branch and pick up that darker color. And now you can continue adding the same beautiful shadow on the other one. You will want to focus on the branches and on the bottom of the little buds. As you can see, this step was very easy to do. So let's create another one with some beautiful yellow flowers.
5. Yellow Flower: You will create one more layer and hide the last one. Then you will pick up the bright yellow fundamental left side of the color palette. And now you will move to the middle of the canvas and create a very simple flower shape. Try to make the perils of different sizes to make it look more natural, then you can pick up the color from the corner. And Phil, It's for now for some highlights, Let's pick up the lighter nuance of yellow. Then you will want to lower the opacity of the brush. Let's set the alpha lock for this layer. And then you can go for the top side of the parallels and create those beautiful and symbol highlights one more. On the right side, you will go over the edges. Then you can select the darker nuance of yellow and create some very simple shadows on the bottom of the petals. And in-between them. You'll want to keep these shadows on the opposite side of the lights and a little spot in the middle. Now you will make the brush a little bit smaller and pick up the brown from the color palette. Let's increase the flow of the brush and create some beautiful beads in the middle of the flower with some lines going to the center and another smaller one on the left side. Now let's get into the next flower declaration.
6. Pink Flower: For this, you will create another layer and hide the one from before the one with the yellow flower. Then you will go to the color palette and pick the pink and increase the flow of the brush. Now, let's create a short line on the lower half of the canvas. And then on the middle top, create a beautiful narrow curve and then add two more on the right side of it, linking them with a line from the bottom and then move to the left side and do the same after the forum is done, you can fill the form of the flower with this beautiful pink. Let's adjust the base of the flower linking those angles. And then you can make the base a little bit more curved. After this, you will want to alpha lock the layer and then go to the brushes. And from the textures, you will pick the KV brush. Then you will go to the color palette and choose a lighter nuance of pink. With this pink, you will go over the top of the petals and create some highlights. You will want to keep this highlights in the middle of the flower. After the highlight is done, you will pick from the color palette, the third pink from the right. And from the brushes, you'll grab your brush once again and decrease the flow of the brush to make them a little bit more delicate. With this bank, you will create some lines leaving from the top of the petals, going to the bottom middle. You can make them of different sizes. Now let's pick the white from the color palette, increase the flow of the brush and decrease a little bit the size of it. Now, as before, let's create those beautiful circles with some white curves going to the bottom of the flower. You will make the ones from the sides a little smaller. You can add as many as you want. Now you will go to the color palette and once more, pick the first paint from the bottom, and then you will create a new set of petals on the bottom of the flower, making them a little bit smaller so they don't cover the middle of the flower too much. After the counter is done, you can simply cover the inside the petals by simply brushing with your pen. As you can see, these petals now seeming front of the others. Very easy to do. Let's add two simple shadows. And on the left side of this one from the left. And now this flower is done as well. Let's create the last Bangalore flowers.
7. Orange Flowers: So for this, you will go to the layers and hide the last one. After that, you will create a new layer, and then you will pick the dark brown from the middle of the color palette and decrease the size of the brush. Now you will create two curves for two very delicate flower shoots. One going to the right side and then one more on the left side, leaving from the middle of the first. Now you will add three tiny beautiful leaves, two for the branch from the top left with some long Barrios and one more lower on the one from the right side. Then you can grab the color from the corner and fill the forums. Then you can go to the color palette and big the white from the bottom. If the lines are not visible enough, you can change the color of the background so they can be more visible. So as before, you will create three beautiful and long lines with some little circles at their ends. And now for the ones from the top as well, we'll firstly make the little circles on the top, and then you link the white line, witty and of the branch. And now for the petals, you will grab the wonderful dark yellow from the color palette, getting a little closer and increasing the size of the brush. Now, from the end of the burial, you will leave with a line that creates three symbol petals. And then you will start to fill the form. As you can see now, the little lines made before are feasible. Now let's get closer to the one from the top. And once more you will leave from the burial with a line that creates three curves and then go back to the petiole. Now let's grab the color and start to feel the shape of the petals. And then you can simply use the pen to fill that shape entirely. Now to create some shadows as before, you will alpha lock the layer and then you want big the light brown from the color palette and decrease the flow of the brush. Then you can apply a couple of shadows on the petals focusing on the bottom side of them to for the flower from the right. And now let's move to the other one and add one more shadow on the bottom, one on the middle, and another one on the right side. Now for the leaves, you'll pick the orange from the color palette and go over the leaves with a couple of light brushstrokes just to make them seem touched by a little bit of light. Let's go on to one from the left side as well, with this transparent brush making two passes, four to nuances of light. And now for the last leaf from the bottom, super-simple and rewarding, such a great exercise, as you can see in the layers, all these declarations will be put together at the end. Now, let's create some more declarations.
8. Wheat Straw: For this next step, you will go to the Layers and create one more on the top. Then you will want to pick from the color palette, the orange from the left side of the brown. So you will firstly create a long stem directed to the right side of the canvas. Let's now start creating those beautiful wheat grains, making them a little bit pointy and bigger as they move up the stem. For the right side of the stem, you will want to make sure the two grains from each side are meeting in one single point. And now you can fill the shapes, making sure each of them gets this beautiful orange color. So easy. Now for the one from the bottom, Let's try and make it a little bit more pretty and nice. After the main shape is done, you will want to alpha lock the layer, and then you will pick from the color palette, the lighter hue of orange. Next one from the left and starting from the bottom right corner, you will create a couple of stripes across the width grains, making them of different sizes and maybe adding some data shorter or more wavy. Now, let's descend on the right side. You don't have to make them perfect. Just create some stripes that go across the wheat grain. So they may seem like some beautiful green shells. Look at this beautiful green stem. It is so easy to create. Now let's hide this layer and create a new one.
9. Palm Leaves: After the layer is created, you will go to the color palette and choose the second green from the top right corner. As before, you will create main stem and then you will start to place on the left side of the stem some beautiful leaves, making them a little bit belonged and of different sizes. You can make the leaves a little bit Angular on one side to be a bit different from the brain stem from before. Make sure that as you make the ones from the right side, you pair them with the ones from the left side. Moving to the bottom, you will have two more. After the shapes are done, you can start to feel their form with this beautiful bright green. Let's make sure there are no gaps on the leaf from the left side. And now let's fill the rest of the leaves. So simple and quick. Now you move to the left side of the canvas and create one more stem directed to the top left corner. Let's make this one a little more different than the one from before to make them more diverse, let's fill those with color and get a little bit closer so it can be easier to draw. Let's add a tiny one on the bottom and then create three more leaves on the top of the stem to the sides and one on the top. After the two shapes are done, you will go to the color palette and choose the last green from the top right side. Let's get a little closer and alpha lock the layer to create some highlights. Now you will use this green to play some lights or the beautiful leaves. You don't have to pay too much attention on how these lights are placed, but make sure they vary a little as each of the leaves is different and very special. And with this, all the plan that corporations for this illustration are done. Now at last, let's create the beautiful chicken.
10. The Chicken: For this wonderful and simple step, you will illustrate a tikkun. So let's firstly go to the layers and add the last layer for this chicken. Now, because the chicken will be very light-colored, let's firstly make the background a little bit more colored so you can see the drawing. After this is done, you will want to draw the head and the back of the chicken as an S-shape or the face of the chicken and the bottom of it, you will create a wide curve like a semicircle, and then closing it on the face of the chicken. Let's zoom in a little bit and make sure the shape is closed. And now you will fill the form of his body with this white. Let's adjust a little bit deadline from the neck. And now you can go to the back of the chicken and created the tail. For this, you will create a couple of feathers displaced as fan, making sure they are of different sizes. And now let's grab the color from the corner and fill the form. After that, you will fix a little bit of that contour of the neck and the chest. So it can be a little bit more smooth. Now you can go to the moving to an selecting the wrap tool. You can reshape its form to make it a little bit bigger on the bottom side, so it may seem more stable. So let's drag the bottom left corner to the left side, making the head a bit taller and the back arched. So simple to play with the shapes. Now it has a perfect and beautiful RAM form, just like beautiful chicken should have. Now let's go to the layers and alpha log layer of the chicken. Now, you will go to the color palette and choose the orange from the pilot and make it a little bit less saturated, around 60 percent. And now let's create the wing of the chicken, starting from the back of the chicken with a couple of short feathers and then going down with a wide curve and climbing on the neck to the back of the head. After the form, the wing is filled with color. You can move to the tail and changing the color for this light bash, you will create on each of the feathers one that is a little bit shorter inside of each feather, filling their form, as you call. Very simple and easy to do. Now once again, let's grab the white color of the chicken and once more create one more layer of feathers for this beautiful tail. Now, let's create some beautiful and thin feathers inside these ones. Now let's grab once again the beautiful orange from the wing and create at the base of the tail one more small fan of feathers, this time making just three of them. Now that the tail is finished, going to the color palette, you will choose the last light badge from the bottom right, you will zoom out to create some shadows on the bottom of the chicken. You will create a wide shadow on the bottom of the chicken and going towards the chest. Now with the same transparency, you will create some little feathery textures on the belly of chicken. Let's add a few more on the chest. And now you will want to add a beautiful feathered color for this chicken. So let's grab the orange from the wing. Then you will increase the opacity and lower the size of the brush. Now from the chain of the chicken, you will go towards the back neck with a couple of curved lines. Now, let's choose one's born the white from the chicken and create, as for the color, some curved lines on the wing living from the back. Couple of curves. And then let's add a couple of short lines. One just above the last and a couple of more between the orange feathers of the wing. After this, you will undo the alpha lock and you can create the beak of the chicken like a simple triangle shape. Don't make it too sharp at the end, so it can look nice and round as the rest of the forms of the chicken. Now, let's pick the beautiful pink and create an upside-down heart shape, and then you can fill it with color. And now for the crest, the chicken, you will create a small beautiful based on the head with a couple of curves on the top, making the ones from the middle bit taller. After you have filled the form of the crest, you can create an AI as a curve, picking the less green from the top right side. Now, let's shape the eye as a simple curve. So it may seem like the chicken is resting. Now, let's pick the second verse from the left. You will make a little oval underneath the eye to mark its beautiful chick. After this, you will add some darker feathers on the wing. So you will pick the light brown from the color palette and increasing the size of the brush, you will place a couple of darker feathers and the right side of the control of the feather. And now let's change the angle so it may be a bit easier. And let's create a couple of long feather across the wing. Three long feathers, making them thinner and the beginning and then wider at their ends. At the end, Let's place three beautiful feathers on its tail and the chicken is done. Now let's get into the last step.
11. Creating the Composition: In this last step, you will bring together all the beautiful flowers and plants and of course the chicken. So you will firstly want to make visible the layer of the chicken. And then starting with the leaves, you want to find them a place somewhere around the chicken. So using the Move tool set on uniform, you will play around with the leaves until you find them a nice place to stay. Let's make them a little bit smaller and move them below the back of the chicken. Let's keep bringing out the other leaves, the ones that are a bit darker. You can place them wherever you want and make them as big as you please. So let's make them a little bit smaller and rotate them. So it may seem like the chicken is standing on them. Let's now select the leaves from before and move them around, rotate them, then let's place them right on the top of the chicken. Now you will bring out the beautiful pink flower buds. Rotate them slightly to the right and place them on the top right over the light green leaves. Now, let's unselect the move to pick up the beautiful yellow flower from the layers. As you can see, it's a bit too large to integrate, so let's move it outside and make it smaller. Let's move to the next flower, that beautiful pink flower. And after you've selected layer, you will move it to the lower side of the beautiful chicken. Rotate it a little bit and let's place it nice and snug right here on the top of the beautiful dark green leaves. Now let's move to the layers and drag the layer of the green leaves on the top of the pink flower. Now, let's duplicate it. After that, you will select the new layer, and with the move tool selected, you will grab the leaves and place them on the back of the beautiful chicken. Now, let's modify the shape of the leaves with the rep to, so they don't seem identical. And now after they are modified here, we'll select again the uniform two and move them just below the tail, rotating them a little once more. After this, you will reveal the next flowers from the next layer. And now let's place this beautiful orange flowers on the front of the chicken after making them quite smaller. Now for the next layer with this beautiful width strong, Let's bring it outside on the right side of the chicken. But look how beautiful this orange looks together with the rest of the colorful plants. So let's duplicate this layer and create one more of this beautiful with straw. After you have duplicated the layer, you will flip it horizontally and move it in the front of the chicken. Let's play with its size a little and now place it right behind the head of the chicken. Now you will reveal the last set of plants, those beautiful light green palm leaves. Pink them a little bit bigger. Rotate them and move them below the bottom of the chicken. Now, let's make them fit in the space with the help of the wrap tool. Just a little bit like that, you can see how beautiful these green leaves look indices Thracians. So let's move back to the layers and once again duplicate the layer of the green palm leaves. And then you will want to flip the layer and move them with the uniform tool in the front of the chicken just below It's beautiful chest. And now that all the beautiful plants and flowers are placed in the illustration, let's create some beautiful delicate bubbles on the background. For this, you'll want to create one more layer because you've reached the maximum number of layers created for this campus format, you will want to merge them a couple of layers to create some space for one more. Now let's move to the color palette and create a beautiful and clean white for some simple puzzles for the background. So let's bring down the flow of the brush and let's create some beautiful circles on the background. You can make them of different sizes and shapes. There is no rule for how these delicate background corporations should actually look. So you will place three little circles on the top left side of the canvas. Let's now move to the top right side and place two more little bubbles, one on the bottom right corner. And now let's move the beautiful yellow flower in a different place so it can be a little less obvious right on the bottom of the chicken. And now to illustration, It's almost finished. As you can see, all the plants are placed where they should be and the composition has a lot of unity. If you want to make an extra step further, you can go to the layers and select all the layers of the beautiful floral decorations. So after you've created this layer of all the plants, you can select the Move tool and move them a little bit to the left side in the front of the chicken so they can be more uniformly distributed and make the chickens in a little bit more in the center of the composition. As you can see, it is very easy to move these flowers around now that they fit much more nicely. Let's go to the layers and on the background color. And then you will want to pick the last green from the top right corner and play a little bit with the color to make it a bit more blue. After you're satisfied with the background color, you can zoom out a little and see if the plants need any more adjustments. At the end, you will want to make the chicken baby a little bit more colorful. So let's select the layer of the chicken. Then you will move to the adjustments. And now you want to increase the saturation to about 70 percent. As you can see now, the chicken is much more colorful and beautiful. And with that, you have finished the illustration. Congratulations on your progress and thank you for taking this course. If you enjoy creating your wonderful Procreate artwork, make sure you leave a review and of course, share with the rest of the world your own beautiful illustration helps you in the next course.
