About This Class

When you think about the ways to incorporate diversity into an otherwise bland illustration, you first have to think about how you can make one dominant piece "pop". When accessorizing a composition, try making something the main focus of attention and then fill up the rest of that space with things that will compliment it.
Using decorative elements, you can create a variety of styles for your arwork. Through personalization and customization of one element, you can make some drastic changes to your final result.
It will show you how to create a variety of different effects through the use of one simple element. It will also help you refine your skills as an artist.

Add diversity to your pieces by playing with just one decorative element.

In this course you will learn how to be creative when you have very little resources. You will learn how to add a touch of decoration to your work, no matter what you are creating.
Although there are a lot of possible compositions, you will get a clear idea of how to create diversity by focusing on just one single decorative element.
This course will give you the confidence to try out different styles and have fun with your illustrations.
This course is for anyone who would like to learn how to use this new, innovative app to create beautiful and diverse illustrations.

1. Welcome! :): Hi, my name is Christine and welcome to this lovely and easy Procreate course. This course will teach you how to create a drawing of a beautiful baby sleeping on a bed of leaves embracing a little buddy. You will learn how to create diversity by using just one element in combination with color harmony, this course does not require any prior knowledge of illustration. You will get detailed step-by-step guidance. All you need for this course is the iPad, the Apple pencil, and the procreate app. If you are ready to have a wonderful time making this beautiful baby. Welcome to this course. 2. Background: For this wonderful and simple illustration, you will firstly want to create a new canvas that has 4 thousand by 4 thousand pixels. This will give you a lot of space for you to create many layers of foliage. The color palette you will use for this illustration is the coffee time color palette that can be found in the resource page of the course. The brushes you will need are the textured brush and the inking album brush. These are two very beautiful brushes that can be found in the resource page of the course. For the beginning, you will want to go to the layers and set the background color. Let's start this illustration with a beautiful brown colored background that stands for a ground color. This color will be great to give the illustration a very comforting and safe look. Now going on the first layer, you will want to create some textures to create a bit of plasticity to your background. For that, you'll want to grab the textured brush and from the colors, the dark green from the top-left side. Now you will increase the size of the brush so you can easily create something like a little hole in the middle of the background. This will make a great place for the little boy to lay on the leaves and feel safe. Let's give a little bit more color to this little hole in the background so you can grab the brown from the bottom left side of the palette and apply it over the dark green. Use circular motions to be sure you give a beautiful round shape to the middle of the background. Now let's rise a little bit the level of the ground from the sides and bring a bit of light to the ground. It is very easy to create these textures. Let's make sure each of the corners of the canvas gets a little bit of this lighter neon's of the ground. Just a hint of color on the sides as well. And now you can lower the size of the brush and accentuate the light in the corners. Just little bit will be enough. As you can see, it is very simple to create a focus point for the composition. Now the surface of the background is much less intimidating and it is much easier to imagine how you will display the next elements. Now that the background is, then you can move to the next step. 3. Red Leaves: In this step you will create some beautiful red oak leaves with some very curvy and nice shapes. You can make all sorts of leaf shapes if you want. You don't have to stick with the oak leaf shape. So let us start creating the first leaf for that, you will want to firstly create a new layer for these leaves and then pick from the color palette, the beautiful burgundy color from the middle of it. Then you will want to pick from the brushes, the elegant Armand brush. Let's increase the flow to maximum and decreased a little bit of the size of the brush. Now let's go to the middle and draw a simple vertical line. It doesn't need to be perfectly straight. Then leaving from near the bottom of the line, you'll want to move to the left side and create some beautiful curves going up, making them larger as they reach the tape, then you can descend and close the shape with some small leaflets on the bottom. Now that the shape is closed, let's grab the color from the corner and fill the shape. After this, you will want to create some highlights on this leaf. For that, you will pick from the color palette, the beautiful orange from the bottom left side, and then picking up the textured kiwi brushed, round brushes. You will firstly make a selection of the leaf using the selection tool. And then you can apply some of these beautiful orange on the left side of the leaf. Let's increase the flow and decrease the size to have a stronger contrast of light on this leaf. Now let's create some veins for this leaf. For that you will pick from the brushes, the brush. Now, still having the leaf selected, you will draw beautiful line on the middle of the leaf. And now you can create on the sides of the middle line some little ones that go towards each leaflet of the edge. Nothing too complicated, but much more decorative. And with that, you've finished the first leaf of the illustration in no time, you will have many more of them. So unless firstly, make a selection of the leaf, dragging the pen to the right until all the selection is made. Now you will press the Copy and Paste button from the bottom middle of the panel. After this, with the move tool selected, you will drag the new leaf on the side so it can be feasible. Now once more you can make another selection of the new leaf, dragging the pan to the right. This timeless drag the next leaf on the left side. These duplications are very easy to do. Now that the three leaves are duplicated, you'll use the Move tool to make them different from each other. So starting with the lift from the right side, Let's set the warp tool and then you can play with the shape of the leaf as much as you want, dragging from the corners until it's a bit different from the others. Now let's see in which position it could stay. And now you can pick from the panel the uniform Option and drag it to the top-left side of the canvas. Let's tilt it a bit more towards the center and drag it from the edge. Now you will move to the next beautiful leaf. So you will select the next leaf from the layers and then you can drag it so it can be visible. Now as before, let's use the warp tool to change the shape of it, dragging the lower part inside as well as the one from the top. Now let's try to make it look wider. So you will make the base of it narrower and the sides why they're after you are satisfied with the modifications, you can set the uniform and then pressing the little green bottom, Let's flip it. And now let's drag it to the bottom right corner. So it can seem like it's coming outside the little pouch from the ground. Now let us go to the last leaf from the layers and now set on uniform. Let's flip it horizontally. And then let's once more use the warp tool to play with the shape, making it much more wider than before, dragging the sides of the leaf outside the shape. After the leaf is shaped, you can grab it with uniform and rotate it upside down with the little green button. And then you can drag it to the lower-left corner. And let's maybe make it a bit smaller and drag it a bit more to the right. Now that the three leaves are done, you will want to go to the layers and merge down the layers of the three leaves, starting with the one from the top. And now that all the three leaves are on the same layer, you will want to duplicate this new layer that contains all the leaves. Now having one of the layers selected, you will want to use the move tool to rotate it. Let's rotate this layer until they seem to fit a bit more of this blank space. Now let's drag these leaves and find them and cozy place to stay a bit more to the right. And now let's make them a bit smaller than the others and less recenter them. As you can see, they create a very nice sense of diversity through form. Let's change them even more. So you will go to Adjustments, Hue Saturation and Brightness. And you will lower the saturation and bring down the brightness as well to make these leaves look much more interesting. Now let's make them a bit more towards colder nuance. And now the first set of leaves is finished. Look at how nice they look together, how beautifully the red leaves integrate into the background. Now let's move to the next step and create some more of these beautiful oak leaves. 4. Cold Green Leaves: In this next step, you will create multiple layers of some bluish green leaves. These will make the bed of leaves seem much more dancer and nicer. For that. Let's create a new layer on top of the others. After this, let's go to the colors hand-picked these beautiful middle green from the top left side. Now, grabbing the album brush from Inking, you will create a new shape of oak leaf, starting with the main vein that indicates the direction of the leaf. And now as before, Let's go to the bottom left side of the line and create those curves going up, making a big, beautiful curved line on top and a couple of more on the right side. After this, let's fill the shape of the leaf with this beautiful green. Now as before, you will want to make some beautiful veins. So you will firstly grab from the colors, the dark green from the top-left side, and then make a selection of the leaf. After that makes sure the brush is ready. And now you are ready to place that middle vein and some very delicate shorter lines that leave from the middle line towards each of the lethal leaflets. Now you will want to harmonize the color of the leaf with the rest of the illustration. You will want to grab the textured keeping brush and then using the beautiful orange from the bottom left side of the palette, you will place a beautiful light on the left side of the leaf, gradually building the textures more on the left side. Now let's make the edge from the right a bit more faded. So you will grab the beautiful brand from the color palette and you will integrate the edge of the leaf more into the composition. Just a few passes will be enough to give it a much more softer appearance. A bit more of this middle, orange in the middle. And after this, the leaf is ready to be duplicated. Let's use the Move tool and move this beautiful leaf to one side of the canvas. Now using the selection tool, you will click on the leaf and then you can copy and paste the leaf and drag the new one on the left side. It is so easy to use these tools, they make the creative process much easier and relaxing. Now let's use the warp tool to modify the shape of the last leaf. And then you can drag the middle of the leaf to the right to make it wider. This will be a beautiful and wide leaf. After you are satisfied with the shape, you can use the free foreign to make it quite smaller. Now let's tilt it a bit to the left. Third can sit nicely between the red and the dark leaves from the top. Now that the second leaf is placed, you will want to go to layers and select the layer of the first leaf. After this, you will go to the selection tool and right at the bottom copy and paste the beautiful leaf. And then you can drag it down so it can be visible. Now let's rotate it maybe three times. And after that you can flip it horizontally so you can find a very nice place for it on the lower left side of the canvas. Let's maybe make it a bit smaller so it can be different in size from the red leaf from the left. And this will be the perfect place for it. Now you have two more leaves to place. So let's firstly go to the first leaf. And now using the selection tool, you can copy and paste once more the beautiful leaf. Let us drag it to the left side so it can be visible. Let's make it quite smaller. And now let's use the warp tool to make it much why they're a nicer looking at how cute it looks between the other leaves. Let's make it nice and straight and uniform. And now using the uniform to less red the top of the leaf to the right to tilt it, let's drag it to the corner over the beautiful red leaf. And now it's time for the first leaf to find this place. So let's use the move tool on uniform and drag it lower and place it diagonally so we can indicate towards the middle of the canvas. Let's make it a bit smaller and place it right here between the two dark leaves. Look at how nice and diverse they live together. It is time to make the bed of leaves even cause here. So you will firstly go to layers and merge down the layers of the green leaves. After they are altogether in one single layer, you will duplicate this layer, so many beautiful leaves. Now let's use the Move tool and drag the new layer a bit on one side so it can be more visible. Now let's rotate it to about 90 degrees, maybe a bit more. And now let's drag this layer to find a nice place for the leaves. As you can see, if the layer has a greater number of elements, it can be a bit more difficult to find that sweet spot. So let's maybe make them a bit smaller and drag them to the center. Now let's tell them more to the left. And this could be a very good place for them. It looks like a good rhythm of color. After this, you will go to Adjustments, Hue, Saturation and Brightness. And let's shift just a little bit the color balance in making the layer a bit more cold, more saturated, and more dark, this leaves will look great as a bottom layer. So let's go to the layers and drag this layer between the two layers of red heat leaves. Now it feels like the edge of the canvas is still very empty. And more and more leaves are crowding into the middle. So let's add some more of these beautiful dark green leaves on the edges. For that, you will need to go to the layers and duplicate the original layer. Now you will use the move tool to drag the leaves to the sides. Now let's drag the leaves from the corners and make them bigger so they can occupy more of the background. You can tilt them to the right and find the position for the leaves. Let's drag them a bit more to the center so the leaves can seem like they emerged from the same little hole in the ground. Now that you have found the good position for these leaves that will be placed in the back of the others. Let's go to adjustments, hue, saturation and brightness, and play a little bit with the brightness, making them a bit more dark and maybe make them less saturated to faith in the background. Now, after the color of the leaves is changed, you can go to Adjustments, gaussian blur, and now sliding the pencil to the right, you will blurred these leaves so they don't attract so much attention from the center. Just a little bit will be enough to lose a bit of the focus. Now you will go to the layers and drag the layer of the last blurred leaves just above the layer of the background textures. Now after you've put the leaves on the background, you are ready for the next beautiful step. 5. Yellow and Green Leaves: In this step, you will create more diversity in color by adding some beautiful yellow leaves that will brighten up the look of the illustration. Let's start by going to the layers and hide the layers of the leaf for the moment. So you can have a bit more space to play with the leaves. After the layers are not visible anymore, you will pick from the colors, the beautiful orange from the bottom left corner, and the L against our mom brush. Now let's go to the Layers and create a new layer for this wonderful leaves. As before, you will start with a vertical line that goes up. It doesn't need to be perfectly straight. Now let's leave from the bottom left side with a line that creates three beautiful curves. And then you will add a white one on top and two more on the right side. Let's make the bass nice and smooth. And now let's go to the color palette and pick the brown to create some beautiful veins across the middle and the sides. Let's get a bit closer. And firstly, make a selection of the leaf. Now let's create the middle line. And now since smaller lines going to the little curves of the edge of the leaf, Let's move to the right side and do the same. Now you can zoom out and make some adjustments. Maybe let's make the line on the top a bit longer and add two more little lines on the sides of the leaf. It doesn't have to loop perfectly symmetrical. Now you will create some beautiful textures, shadows on the right side of the leaf. So let's grab the light brown from the bottom left side and the texture brush from the textures. Now with a medium flow and size, let's slightly apply on the right side this shadow just a little bit to make the edges a bit more sweetened, delicate. Just a few passes will be enough to create a beautiful gradient look to the leaf. Now you will move to the left side of the leaf. And with this clean light that you will apply the Likud light so you can bring a little bit of luminosity to leave. Just a little bit will be enough. After this is done, you can under the selection and going to the layers, you will reveal all the other layers of the leaves. As you can see, this yellow leaf will brighten up quite a lot. The look of the illustration. Let's create three of these leaves so you can play around with their shapes and position. Now you'll want to make a selection of the leaf and then you can press the copy and paste bottom from the middle of the panel. Now let's drag the new leaf on the left side so it can be visible. Now let's once more make a selection of the new leaf and press Copy and Paste and drag the new leaf to the left side. Now that you have the three beautiful yellow leaves, you can start to play with their shapes. Let's start with the last one. And using the Move tool set on warp, you will give this leaf a totally different loop by playing with the position of the edges, dragging them so the leaf can look much more different. Now let's flip it horizontally so the light can come from a different side of the canvas. After this, you will drag it with uniform to the right corner of the canvas. Place it at 45 degrees and then you can hide it a little bit under the right corner. You can see how nicely it blends into the background. Now let's go to layers and drag this layer underneath the other leaf layers just over the texture background. As you can see, it gives a nice finished to the corner without making the composition feel too crowded. Now you will place the second beautiful yellow leaf. So let's select the layer and now let's rotate it vertically so it can fit in the lower side of the canvas. Now let's drag it with uniform between the two beautiful bluish green leaves and make it smaller so it can fit nicely between them. And that covered too much from there, nicely curved edges. And now is the time for the last leaf. So let's go to the layers and select the layer of the last and place leaf. After this, let's use the move tool on uniform to turn it at about 30 degrees. And then let's make it a bit smaller and place it nicely just between these leaves. Just to cover a little bit of the background, but not create too much contrast by overlaying beliefs. And now that the last leaf is placed, you will want to go to the layers and merge down the last leaf. You can have the last two yellow leaves on one single layer. After layer of the two leaves is created. You'll want to duplicate this layer. After that, you will grab the last layer and using the move tool, you can rotate the newly created leaves until they are displaced upside down. Now let's make them quite smaller and drag them closer to the center of the composition. After you have successfully placed them, you will want to make them of a slightly different neurons. So you will go to adjustments, hue saturation and brightness and increase the saturation of these leaves, as well as make them slightly darker. This will make the composition a bit more diverse and much more colored. Let's play a little bit more with the position of the leaves over the green ones. And now let's use the warp tool to make them a tiny bit more different. Look at how beautiful you've placed them in the middle. Now let's create some more for this cozy bed of leaves. So let's go to the layers and duplicate the last layer. After this, let's grab the leaves with the uniform tool and move them to the left, rotate them to the right, flip them horizontally, and try to hide some more of the empty spaces from between the leaves. Let's use once more the warp tool to fit them nicely and align them with the rest of the leaves. As you can see, the leaf colors create a very beautiful rhythm, very creative and harmonious. Now after you found them on nice place to stay, you will go to adjustments once more and play with the hue of the layer, bringing the hue to about 60% so the leaves can appear now green, a very warm and delicate green, not too intense as the other nuances of green. It looks like these green leaves compliment a lot, the rest of the colors and the overall look of the illustration. You will want to multiply once more than less layer, the one of the green leaves. After the layer is duplicated, you'll use the move tool to grab the new leads away from the original ones using the uniform tool, Let's flip them upside down and make them quite bigger. You'll want to find the place for these leaves to create the tiny bit of balance with other green leaves. Now you will go to Layers and grab the layer between the other ones because it seems like they cover away too much from the others. And with this, as you can see, the bed of leaves in much more welcoming and pleasant to the eye. A little bit of contrast and color harmony. Let's now move to the next step and create the main lines for the child. 6. Drawing of The Baby: In this step, you will create the main lines and the contours of the child. At first you will create some very simple shapes, the guide you. So let's go to the layers and merge the last three layers so you can have a little more space for the next ones, these three layers of leaves from the top we'll sit just perfect together in one single layer. Let's now go to the top and create a new layer over the others. Now, before starting the drawing, you will want to hide all the layers of the lease so they don't attract too much attention from the drawing you will create. Just leave the background and the textures. After this, you are ready to create the drawing. You will firstly grabbed from the color palette, the dark green from the top-left side. And now let's grab the inking our mom brush. For the beginning, you will draw a circle on the top middle side and then an oval on the bottom left side of the circle, much bigger. Now let's create the circle that stands for the head of the child. Hold the pencil down until the contour of the circle is smooth. Now for the body of the child, let's create the oval on the bottom left side trying to fit it inside the little hole in the background. You will live from inside the circle, descend on the left side, and then let's go back on the right side and close the shape on top. Hold the pencil down until the shape is formed. And with this, you've created the main shape of the head and the body. Now, on the right side over the oval, you will place another beautiful circle, almost the size of the other one. Try to make half of this circle over the oval. This will be the main shape for the bunny from the baby's hands. So let's move on and draw the two arms and hands of the child wrapped around the circle. Let us start with the one from the outside, creating a curved line over the circle leaving from the right side of the head. Now let's close the shape of the hand on the edge of the circle and draw the big thump and the rest of the hand. Nothing too complicated for the hands. Let's create the end of the clothing over the rest of the hand. And now let's grab the eraser and get rid of the line from the contour of the bunny. With that, the right arm and the right hand are finished. Let's move to the inside of the oval and shape the second arm with two beautiful curves going towards the bottom of the circle, getting the lines a bit closer on the bottom. After the arm is done, let's create a little angle in the back of the head that stands for the shoulder of the child. Next, on from the shoulder of the child, you will move them with the bottom and the front leg of the child. So let's go down with a line, getting outside on the bottom left side of the oval. Now you will create the top of the leg on which the bunny and the hands of the child will rest. So you will live with a curved line from the bottom side of the oval and then you will climb up with a wide curve touching the bottom of the circle and then continue them with a line half of the distance to the bottom of the oval. And now let's create the back of the leg. So you will cut with a short line the bottom right side of the oval and link it with the pattern. Now let's continue with the top of the foot, drawing the straight line that goes to the right. And then you will go inside with the sole of the foot. Now you will create the rest of the leg making a tight angle with the last one. And now you will create the second leg from the back, living down from below the circle, very similar to the other one, starting with a shortening and ending with a small pointy foot. And with this, you have finished creating the legs of the child. Now you will move closer to the hand from the left and draw a curved line that goes behind the knee. After this, let's draw a line across the curve and the small finger and another little finger for the other hand. Now, it's time to create the hair of the child. You will begin with the hairline on the top-left side of the circle. This line should be half inside and have outside. From the inside you will live to the bottom left side with a curved line that will stand for the hair that goes around the ear. Next, let's create a C-shape for the little ear of the child. Then from behind the ear you will live with a curved line that goes up and meets the back of the hairline. Now you will move to the right side of the hairline and draw across the forehead of the channeled some short little hair locks. You can change the direction of the hair lakhs to make them seem more natural. And now let's close the shape of the hair on top, living from the end of the hairline, going along the shape of the head with a spiky line that closes on the middle right side of the circle. And now you will create the features of the little child that you will firstly wants to grab the eraser and get read on the top of the oval from inside the circle. Now let's once more grabbed the Amon brush and create the curved line, leaving from the bottom of the circle and going up to the top. After this, you will draw another curved line leaving from the back of the head and going to the middle right of the circle. These lines will help you easily place the features of the child. Now from below the intersection of the two lines, you will draw a V-shape indicating to the right that stands for the little nows. Now you will create one more line near the right edge of the circle directed upwards and another one on the opposite side. These two lines will stand for the eyebrows and now for the eyes. Let's draw two lines curved down on each side of the segments. Another line curve down on the bottom of the vertical line to signal the little mouth. And with this, you have finished creating the main lines of the drawing. After this, you will continue with a quick drawing of the bunny, and you will prepare the drawing for the colors. 7. Drawing of The Bunny: Now that I've finished grading the drawing of the kids, let's create a quick drawing of the Pawnee. This will be very simple to do and will take no time. So let's get a bit closer and let's firstly draw the two ears of the bunny. Let's leave with a top side of the first year, from the middle left side of the circle upwards touching the cheek and then closing the shape back inside the head. And now you will create the second ear on the bottom. After you have finished creating the ears, you will want to suggest the head of the bunnies. So you will draw the cheek of the bunny below the ear from the right side. And then you will link the cheek with the ear. Now you will get a bit closer to the head of the bunny and you will place a beautiful tiny little, I just like for the kid. Now you will draw under the head a little line that stands for the front leg. And from below this one, you will create a wide line curved down to signal the top of the backlog. And with this, the bunny is almost done. Let's place a tiny beautiful tail on the bottom side, like a curve going out the circle. And the drawing of the bunny is finished as well as you can see, the drawing is describing very nicely the shape of the forums so you can get rid of the lines that are not useful anymore. So let's start with the lines from the top of the bunny from the ears, making that inside of the ear nice and clean. Then you can move to the next ear and erase those lines that they serve the look of the main shapes. Let's get closer to the lower side of the bunny and the erase the line that goes across the back leg. And now let's erase the rest of the line that goes upward in the back of the ears. Look at how beautiful that bunny looks without all those construction lines. Now let's move to the lower side and erase what's left from the bottom of the circle that is not needed anymore. Let's move lower and erase the curve of the oval that intersect with the leg. Now you can get a little closer and erase the line from the title little corner going on the bottom and erasing the line from below the leg. Now you will erase the line of the oval from inside the shape going on the bottom and the raising the little line from below the leg. And now you will erase the line of the oval from inside the shape. And after this, you can move to the top and start erasing the lines from the hair, starting with the hair from the left side. Now you can move to the right side and the race the top of the circle. Now let's get inside the head and erase the two lines that intersect in the middle of the face. You will clear the forehead and the lines from the sides of the right eye. Let's erase the line from underneath the nose and the one that crosses the ear. Now look at how far you've come and how beautiful your drawing looks. Let's get into the next step and create the beautiful clothes of the child. 8. Green Clothes: In this lab you will create the clothes of the little boy. This is a very simple step. All you need to do is to follow the drawing from before. So let's start by creating on top of the drawing another beautiful layer. Then from the colors you will grab the beautiful middle green from the top-left side. Now let's get closer to the shoulder of the child and start tracing the clothes. Let's place a beautiful curve for the shoulder. And now you will move lower and retrace the contour of the hand, starting with the top side, adding a small line at the end and now creating a beautiful line over the bottom of the arm. Now let's move the canvas so it can be easier to create the line of the back. And then let's move once again the canvas and continue with the bottom of the leg. Now you will move further and draw the top of the leg with a beautiful white curve. Now let's draw the back of the leg and the front of it, closing the shape of the leg with a beautiful V-shaped foot. Now let's create the contour of the second leg, drawing the sole of the foot and then the top. Now you will have to be careful to close the shape of the leg around the shape of the bunny. So let's give closer and make sure that shape is nicely closed on top. After this is done, Let's move higher and create the drawing of the left arm closing the rectangle like shape on top, right where it meets the ear of the bunny. After this, let's once more makes short the shape of the close is close on the chest and the round the head as well. Make sure all the contour is closed. After all the counter is done and the shape of the clouds is closed, you can go to the color palette and pick the beautiful light green from the top left corner. Now you can grab the color from the corner and fill the shape of the beautiful body, feeling the food and the arm from the right as well. After the shape of the clothes are filled, you will want to create some highlights over the left side of the body. For that, you will want to firstly make a selection of it. Then let's grab the beautiful Kimmy brush from textures, from the color palette, the beautiful light gray from the bottom right side. Now let's put the size and the flow to the middle of the slide, or maybe making the size smaller. And now you will start to build some beautiful highlights on the left side of the body over the back. And now let's move to the shoulder and gradually create some light on the left side of the arm. Being careful not to get outside the shape. You can stick with the middle of the highlight to accentuate this luminosity. Now let us move lower and accentuate the light from the back just a little bit. And now let's place a beautiful highlight on the top of the leg. Trying to stick with the shape of the leg, making the highlight why they're on the bottom and thinner as it goes up on the leg, closer to the knee. Let's move higher once more. And the century the light from the shoulder and make it much more uniform. And with this, the main color of the clothes and the first highlights are finished. Let's move to the next step and create some beautiful gradient shadows over the clothes. 9. Clothes Highlights and Shadows: In this step you will create some beautiful highlights and some delicate shadows over the blue clothes of the baby. So let us start this step by placing some beautiful shadows. For that, you will use the selection tool set on free hand to isolate the places where you want to create shadows. The first place starts from where the light ends on the thigh, and then it goes on the contour of the two legs carefully surrounding them. This will help you keep the shadow only inside the shape you are drawing with your pen. At the end, you can close the shape in the same place and move to the next one. This will be placed on the belly of the child between the arm and the leg from the bottom. So try to select this shape, keeping the contours outside the shape you are selecting. Now moving to the chest of the child, you will create a new selection like a trapeze going down on the arm and then surrounding the head of the bunny. And after this, you can close the shape on top. Now that all these selections are done, you will use the beautifully textured brush and the dark green from the top left side to create some very soft and beautiful textures over the two legs of the child. Using a very low flow. Just a few passes will be enough to create some beautiful and delicate shadows. Now going from inside the belly to the outside, you will build some of these beautiful dark textures creating more on the right side of it. Now, moving to the chest, you will create another shadow, making it a bit more intense as it moves to the right side. A little bit more of this beautiful texture on the two legs. And now we're getting closer to the arm from the right side. You will firstly want to make a selection of it. Now let's create some beautiful dark textures on this arm, not too dark, just like the other ones. After this, you will under the selection and make a selection of the whole shape of the clothes. Now let's grab from the brushes, the beautiful and elegant our mom brush. And after this using the same color but with a very low flow to about 15%, you will start from the bottom width, the same very delicate shadow without lifting the pen. So let's create the first, following the shape of the leg and then descending on the rest of the legs. Don't forget, don't lift the pen. Now moving to the chest as default, not lifting the pen, you will start creating the shadow from the edge with a hand and then beautifully filling the rest of the chest. Let's add over the arm from the right some of these beautiful shadow. And after this you will move lower and without lifting the pen, you will create another shadow over the leg from the back to accentuate the shadow on that part of the body. Now, being careful not to cross the contours, you will place a little shadow on the right side of the belly and another smaller shadow over the chest of the child. And after this, the shadows are done. Let's now create some beautiful light spots over the left side of the body. So you will firstly go to the color palette and pick the clean y's from the top right side. Now, let's lower the flow a little bit more and getting closer to the left side of the baby, you will add a beautiful highlight over the arm, maybe twice, making sure you don't go over the contours. Now, you will create a beautiful white light over the back and the thigh of the kids without lifting the pen, Let's start creating this transparent light, leaving some of the green-blue from underneath, still visible on the right side. And now let's carefully move to the right side and create an oval highlight, leaving a stripe of the green from before, distant from the shadows. Now you have three beautiful new answers of this wonderful blue from underneath. Now you can move to the next step and create the hair of the little boy. 10. Hair of The Baby: In this beautiful and simple step, you will create the hair of the boy. So let's firstly unselect the clothes of the boy and now grabbing the brown from the bottom of the color palette, you will get closer to the head. This hair will be located on the same layer as the clothes. Now using the brush and setting the flow to 100% and lowering the size of the brush, you can start to outline the shape of the hair, starting with the left side on the back of the hair. Now let's move to the front and create a little zigzag for some hair locks. And now leaving from the hairline, you will go towards the ear with some delicate locks of hair just to create a little bit of structure over the surface of the hair. After the left side of the Harris finished, you can move to the right side of it and create a beautiful outline on the top of the hair. Let's move the canvas to create the ones from the forehead as well, making that zigzag line that reminds of some beautiful hair locks. Let's add two more beautiful lines at the base of the hair. And after this, you can move the canvas and create some beautiful lines across the hair of the boy. You will make these lines living from the hairline and expanding outside the shape of the hair, giving them a curvy looks. So the hurricane seem like it has volume. Now let's proceed and close the shape of the hair on top with another zigzag line. Now the outline of the hair is finished. You will now want to give it a different color than outlines. So let's pick these beautiful light brown from next to the other one. And now let's drag the color from the corner and fill the inside of the shape of the hair. Look at how beautiful it looks now that you have filled the entire shape. Now that the shape is filled, you will want to make a selection of the hair. So let's use the selection tool and grab the shape of the hair. Now to create some beautiful shadows, you will once more grabbed the brown from before, decreasing the flow to about twenty-five percent and increasing the size of the maximum, you will create some beautiful curved shadows on the right side of the hair, starting with a white one and then adding one more over the other and in front of it and another one on the right side. Very easy to give a feeling of volume using transparencies. Now you will move to the left side over the little hairs and do the same. This time may be making the shadows a bit smaller and restrained. As you can see, there is a little spot of light over the hairline of the boy. So let's accentuate that beautiful luminosity. Let's grab from the color palette the beautiful or in front of the bottom left side. And increasingly little bit of the flow of the brush and decreasing the size you will leave from the hairline with some highlights over the hair locks covering just a little bit of the top of the hair locks, just a little bit of this orange will be enough to make the hair seem much more shiny and nice. With that, this step is done as well. Look at how beautiful those hair locks loop just with a couple of simple transparencies. Let's move to the next beautiful step. 11. Face of The Baby: In easy step, you will grade the face of the little boy. For that. You will firstly, wanted to get a little closer and grabbing the beautiful brown from the color palette and bringing the flow to maximum, you will start to create the counter of the face. Let's start with the beautiful air from the left. And now you will move the canvas and create the beautiful shape of the face. Starting from below the ears, crossing over a little bit the color of the clothes. Now let's change the angle and close the shape on the right side of the face. Moving to the features of the little boy, you will create the two little eyebrows of the boy. And now let's create the two beautiful curves that stand in for the shape of the eyes. Let's now create the nose, making the line from the top a little longer and curved. And now let's create the beautiful curve of the mouth as well. Now let's reveal the beautiful features of the little boy filling the shape of the face with this light nuance of patch from the bottom. Now you can grab once more of the brown and make some adjustments of the drawing. So it can seem a bit more nicer. Take your time to create these adjustments. After this is done, you will create, as for the hair, some beautiful shadows on the right side of the face. For that, you will want to firstly make a selection of the face. Then using the darker nuance of badge from the top of the color palette, you will want to decrease the flow of the brush and increase the size of the maximum. Now, following the round shape of the head and not lifting the pen, you will create a beautiful shadow on the face. Letting some of the color of the face on the left side. Let's place one more stripe of this shadow getting closer to the right side. Now let's place a beautiful shadow on the left side of the ear and the shadows of the face are done. Let us now get a bit closer to the ear, increase the flow of the brush and decrease the size. Now let's grab the beautiful dark nuance of badge and place a beautiful curve over the surface of the ear. After this is done, you will want to make a selection of the brown contour of the face and the hair so you can play a little bit with its color. Let's pick the selection tool and grab the beautiful features of the kid. And now, after all the features are selected and the hair counter, you will want to grab from the color palette, the beautiful dark green, and from the brushes, that beautiful textured brush. Now let's decrease the flow of the brush and increase the size. And now you can play some of these shadow on the right side of the head, making the contours a little bit more dark. Just a little bit of this texture will be enough to increase the contrast of the features. Now you will want to diminish a little the contrast of the hair on the left. So you will grab from the color palette, the beautiful orange. And then you will place just a little bit of this texture over the left side of the head. And with that, the hair and the face of the little boy are finished. Look at how beautiful it shines and how peaceful the face looks. And with this, you are ready to move to the next step. 12. Hands of The Baby: This little step will be very simple and easy to do. As for the phase, you will have to color the hands of the little boy. For that, Let's move closer to the two little hands of the boy. And then going through the color palette, you will pick the beautiful brown that was used previously for the contours and choose from the brushes, the elegant and very useful our mom brush. Let's decrease the size of the brush a little bit. And now you will go and retrace the outline of the little hands, making sure you close the shapes. Let's get closer to the hand from the left as well. And draw the bottom of the hand. And let's close the shape of the sleeve. Now you will create the top as well. Let's not forget the little lines that describe the fingers. And now the counter of the hands are ready for the main color. So let's grab from the color palette the beautiful light patch from the bottom and fill the shape of the right and the left hand as well. Let's get closer and fill the shape of the little finger from right there. Now after the hands are filled with color, you'll want to make a selection of the two little hens. And after this, you can grab from the color palette the darker nuance of patch from the top. Decreasing the flow of the brush and increasing the size. You will place on the left hand a little bit of the shadow on the right side of it, making as for the phase of the child through or three passes of this shadow, making a beautiful gradient. And with that, you have finished grading the little boy. It is time for the creation of the little bunny as well. 13. White Bunny: In this step, you will create the base color of the little bunny. For that, you will want to go on the same layer as the boy. Then you will want to pick from the color palette, the gray from the bottom right side. Let's get a little bit closer and increase the flow of the brush to 100%. Now you will begin to retrace the features of the bunny, starting with the head and climbing up on the big ear from the left and contoured the whole shape of it. Now, let's shave the beautiful second year. And after this is done, you will get closer to the face and trace the beautiful cheek of the bunny. And now let's make sure the shape is closed on the left side of the head. After this, you will move lower and create the contour of the bunny with the rest of the hand of the point. Now let's place a little line to shape the front leg and the beautiful curve that stands for the top of the backlog. Now you will get a bit closer to the bottom of the bunny and trace his little tail, making the line of the back a little bit more thicker on the top side. Then you can move higher and make the contour of the hand, making sure you leave some of the brown control of the hands still visible. Try to trace the gray line along the brown one. Let's now close the whole shape of the bunny on the back of it. And now let's take another color from the palette. Let's say these brown to signal the little eye of the bunny. After this is done, you will want to fill with color the shape of the bunny. For that, Let's grab this beautiful wild from the top. And now let's drag the color inside the shape. After this is done, let's maybe grab another color for the eye, the same beautiful gray of the counter and drag the color inside the shape of the eye. Look at how beautiful they look together. As you may see, the color of the bunny is a little bit too plain. After you have placed the main colors of the bunny, you can move on and create some beautiful shadows over it. For that, you will want to make a selection of the white color of the bunny and the contour as well. Now, grabbing the Amon brush and the beautiful gray from the bottom, you'll want to decrease the flow to about 20% and increase the size. Now as for the clothes and the face of the boy, you will grade some overlaid shadows to create a delicate gradient on the right side of the bunny following the shape of his body. Let's move up on the two little ears and make sure you cover with this delicate shadowed the bottom side of them, moving closer to the face, Let's add one more shadow on the chick at the end. Let's create two more shadows over the back of the bunny, making a delicate gradient. A little accent of this color on the two tips of the ears. And the bunny is done as well. Let's move to the next step and create some adjustments of the bunny and the body of the little boy. 14. Bunny Color and Reposition: In that the baby boy and the beautiful bunny her complete, you'll want to create some delicate adjustments for that. You will need to firstly, make a selection of the little bunny. After the bunny and selected, you will go to Adjustments, Hue, Saturation and Brightness. And now you will want to decrease the brightness to about 45% and increase the saturation to about 65%. This will make the bunny look much more integrated into the illustration. Now that the main color of the bunny is a little darker, it's time to play with some delicate highlights over it's beautiful for you. We'll grab from the color palette, the beautiful wide from the top. And now grabbing the textured brush, you will play some of these clean white on the top of the head, letting it gradually built over its left side. You can lower the size of the brush and start to move some of these highlight over the top of its big ears as well. Try to create a beautiful and uniform shape for this textured highlight. Now you will use the selection tool on free hand to draw a beautiful shape over the top of the backlog surrounding only the light gray. And now you can grab the brush and apply some of these delicate texture highlight. Now, Let's move to the ears and using the same freehand from the selection tool, you will draw a shape on top of the ears. Just so it can be easier to create a clean highlight without getting the edges messy. After this, the highlights of the bunny are done as well. Moving on in this step, you will want to play a little bit with the position of the shape of the boy and the bunny. For that, you will select the Move tool and then using the warp tool, you will want to drag inside the square, playing with the bottom-left corner and drag outside the left edge of the square. You will want to make the back of the little boys slightly more curved. Let's bring lower the head and drag to the left the middle of the square. Let's lower the top edge of the rectangle to make the head smaller and maybe make the bag even more curved. Now let's pull out a little bit more the bottom left corner of the rectangle and bring a little bit more inside the right edge. As you can see now, the boy and the little bunny fifth, so much better the round shape of the composition. Now let's use the move to on uniform to place them over the middle. And after this, you are ready for the last step. 15. More Leaves and Shadows: In this last step, you will want to place the little boy on top of the leaf bed. For that you will play a little bit more with the layers of the foliage and with their position. The first thing you will do is to go to layers and make all the layers of the beautiful leaves visible. After you have rebuild all the layers, you will want to fill the empty spaces from the size of the canvas. For that, you will want to go to the layers and duplicate the last layer of the leaves, the one with many beautiful colors. Now you will use the move tool to flip the layer horizontally and then making the canvas smaller, you will want to tell the layer until you find the position in which the leaves cover more of the background. It seems like this position is perfect. Let's go to the layers and drag this layer below all the others. Place it just above the textured background. After this width, the layer selected, you will go to Adjustments, Hue, Saturation and Brightness. And now you will want to read the brightness of the layer to about 40% and the saturation to about the same as you can see now the illustration looks much more complete and decorative. Let's move a step further and duplicate the last layer you've graded. It seems like there is no more space left for another layer. So let's go and merge down some of the leaves from the top. Let's merge these two layers of the dark red leaves and the green leaves. And now you can go back to the last layer and duplicate it. After the new layer is created and selected, you will use the move tool to reposition the new layer in other place. It can cover more of the background. You will flip it horizontally. And now let's still dispositions or the layer won't since symmetrical. It looks like this position is covering a good amount of the background. Now you can use the warp tool to play with the edges of the layer and drag them outside to get rid of those straight lines left from the edge of the canvas. And with this, all the leaves are placed and the boy looks very happy surrounded by so many colorful leaves. For the end, you will want to create a very important detail that will make the boys stand out from the leaves. For that you will go to the layers and merge down the last two layers to make some space. Now you can move to the top and delete the drawing of the child because it is not needed anymore. Now below the layer of the boy, you will create one more layer. On this layer, you will create some beautiful textures with the brush. Let's grab it and lower the flow of the brush and increase the size. Now you will pick from the color palette, the beautiful dark green from the top-left side. Now with this green, you will create a delicate shadow underneath the child. Let's increase the flow of the brush and continue going around and outside the edge of the boy's body to create the beautiful shadow underneath him. Look at how much better the boy looks now, just a little bit more of this dark shadow and the illustration, It's almost finished. This shadow since a bit too dark, so you can grab the brown from the bottom of the palette and apply it over the dark green. Use circular motions to keep the shadow nice and uniform. Just a little bit of this brown over the dark green. Now atlas, you will go back to the first layer of the textures. And then using the same beautiful brown, increasing the size and the flow of it, you will want to make the background a bit more dark as its colors stands out a bit too strong. Let's diminish the luminosity of the corners and focus on making the spots from between the leaves much more darker. If you want at the end you can use a little bit of the dark green as well to give a colder ten to the shadows. This will make the red color of the leaf stand out much more beautifully. With this, the illustration is finished. Congratulations on creating your illustration and thank you for taking the course. If you enjoyed it, make sure you share your artwork and leave a review. Thank you once more for your interest in art and see you in the next course.
