1. Let's Go!: I bet you're just a bit like me. I used to dread having to clean up a mountain
of dishes and tools after preparing what you seem to have
been a simple meal. And so for months, I searched and try
the different things, dabbled with ingredients
and found my solution a delicious quick tortilla
that I can make every day. And the best part is that I only have to do
minimal cleanup later, washing only for total tools. This recipe that I've
discovered helps me achieve two very important
things in my life. Save time and enjoy something delicious every day
with minimal effort. Now what if I told you that
you can do this to just imagine how things will
be in a few months time. Once you've mastered and implemented this meal
into your daily routine, you'll no longer have to make
time to prepare tasty food. And what's best is you'll then be able to spend it
with your friends, family, or on your side hustle. This class is for complete beginners and you'll learn about the ingredients, tools, and the process of
preparing the tortilla. By the end of it, you'll be able to
make yourself a delicious meal with
minimal effort. So if you're still open-minded
about saving time, I'll see you in
the first lesson.
2. Class Project: For this class project, you're going to make your
very first tortilla. Since the whole point is to save time when preparing food, I want you to set a timer
for the whole process, including the time it takes to clean the tools after
making the dish, speaking of which
there are only four, you're going to
need a large pan, a spatula, a plate, and a knife. Also, you're going to need these ingredients
for the tortilla. One slice of butter for tiny
Tomatoes, one cucumber, two eggs, one tortilla, chili flakes, spicy ketchup, and the solid mixture
for this class project, set a timer, make the
tortilla, clean the tools, and then take a picture
of the tortilla, as well as the timer
screenshot and upload them as a picture file
in the project gallery. You can start by writing
down the list of ingredients for the tortilla
in your grocery list. So the next time you
visit the grocery store, you don't forget to add
them to your shopping cart.
3. Tools & Ingredients: In order to prepare
the tortilla, you're going to need
the following tools. A large pan that's able to fit your tortilla on
only 1.5 of the pan. The other half will be reserved for the
eggs or spatula to flip over the eggs
and the tortilla in the pan while they're
cooking of plate, where you'll be cutting
up the vegetables and serving the tortilla and
a knife for the cutting. You'll also need to get
the following ingredients. At least one slice of butter, because eggs taste much better when cooked on butter
compared to oil. For tiny tomatoes. One large tomato will be
slicing tomatoes anyway. So their size doesn't matter. Although I prefer tiny
Tomatoes since they don't turn watery when sliced
into smaller pieces. One cucumber, two
eggs, one tortilla, chili flakes, spicy ketchup, and a salad mixture. The solid mixture can be made up of many
different leaves. However, what I
found works best, or salads that don't
easily get compressed. So for example,
spinach alone wouldn't be my top pick to
put in the tortilla. Now that we've got the tools
and ingredients ready, I'll see you in the next lesson where we will be
preparing the tortilla.
4. Preparing The Tortilla: To prepare the tortilla, first, get a slice of butter and put it into only one side of your pan. Putting the butter only
on one side is important because we're going to reserve the other side for the tortilla. Next, put your pants on high heat and wait for
the butter to melt. Then crack two eggs into the
sizzling butter and place your bent in half tortilla on the other side of
the eggs in the pan. This is where pen size becomes important because
if it's too small, both eggs and the tortilla
won't fit nicely into the pan and clink together during the cooking, well,
everything's cooking. Slice of the cucumber and the tomatoes for
best sized pieces, cut the cucumber in
half twice along it's longer side and then chop
it up into pieces like so. If you have smaller tomatoes, cutting them in half will work. If they're not too watery. You can also slice each
tomato into four pieces. It's important that the tomatoes don't leak too much
water and juices into the plate
because it softens the tortilla and
it becomes soggy, which makes it hard to
hold in your hand when eating if there's
a minimal amount of water in the tortilla, tortilla will be
crunchy and easily hold its shape and the
ingredients inside. After two to three minutes, turn over the tortilla and
then add salt and pepper to both your vegetables in the plate and the
eggs in the pan, then turn over the X2. This is also important because
adding salt and pepper to the eggs at the very beginning will make them turn watery too. At this point, you
can lower the heat of the stove because if
the pan gets too hot, the tortilla will
start burning and the eggs will not be
cooked evenly throughout, then it's only a matter of
monitoring the tortilla, so it doesn't burn, but becomes nice and brown. This time is perfect for cleaning your knife
and putting it away because you
won't be needing it anymore when making
the tortilla, all that you have to
clean is basically rinse the pan with water and clean the plate from
which you eight. That's why this food has
become my favorite go-to, coming back, once the
tortilla gets a brown color, you can turn off the heat. By this point you're tortilla is ready to be assembled
and served. I'll show you how to do
that in the next lesson.
5. Serving The Tortilla: In this lesson, I'll
show you how to assemble and serve the tortilla. First, take it out
of the pan and place it in the plate
with the vegetables, then take out the eggs and place the eggs on one side
of the tortilla. Next, put the sliced cucumbers and tomatoes into the tortilla. At this point, it's
very important that the plate doesn't have
a lot of water on it. Otherwise, the tortilla will absorb the water
and become soggy. So if you notice any
water on the plate, take a paper towel and clean it. Next, move the
vegetables over dx, add chili flakes,
but not too much. Spicy ketchup, but also not too much because it'll start running out of the other
end of the tortilla when you hold it in
your hand and finally, add the salad mixture. The amount of solid that you
put in the tortilla will depend on how skilled you are at holding it your first time. I suggest putting a little less, because otherwise it will start falling from the tortilla
when you try to eat it. Then clean out the pan and the spatula so that
only the plate remains once you've
finished eating than bendy tortilla in half
and it's finished. Total preparation time for me was nine minutes and 51 seconds, and I took it extremely
slow this time. Enjoy.
6. Conclusion: Congratulations, you've done it. Thank you for embarking on this incredible journey with me. I hope that now preparing
food for yourself at home will not seem so
strenuous and time-consuming. Because look, all
that it took was grabbing some extra
ingredients when you were at the grocery
store than while the tortilla and the
eggs were cooking, just cutting up the veggies. And lastly, assembling
the tortilla. If there's one thing that I hope you take away from
this class is that preparing tasty food doesn't need to steal hours
of your time. That's why I encourage
you to share the photo of the tortilla and the
timer screenshot in the project gallery. And just one more thing. Could you do me a
favor and leave a review for this horse
just out of curiosity, I want to know what you thought about it.
What do you know? It might just make my day.
