1. Introduction: The internal camera while favors. This brings such lovely childhood memories to me of playing with these flowers, plugging it's different little flooded and spreading them on the ground. In this class, I have tried to capture the beauty of these wild flowers which grow abundantly in nature. Along with three, living my childhood memories and creating this beautiful class project for you. Hello all, I'm Latina girl, while a watercolor artist from Mumbai, India. In this class, I will take you through a step-by-step process of creating the different colors that we will need to create the class project. I will show you how to create the flowers. And we will see the negative painting technique, which will help us create this beautiful, dense leave for early age. We will also see the different composition options that you can explore and experiment. And at the end, we will use all our learnings and create this beautiful class project. I hope you're as excited as me to create this. You can connect with me on Instagram at life's little treasures. And I will be happy to share your creations.
2. Art Supplies: So let's look at the supplies that we will require. A watercolor paper with, which is 300 GSM and a 100 percent cotton. As we're going to do, multiple layers of watercolor. Paper should be thick enough. Covid told all the water and not declared. So it is very important to get a very good quality or vertical of people. So there are different brands like arches. Then we have minora or desire, the artist, good watercolor papers. And you can also go with student grade papers like Canson, this too. So just make sure that the paper is 300 GSM and a 100 percent cotton. So for this project we will use a small postcard size paper and I will stick it on hard-boiled. So you can use any drawing pad, harder writing pad, and stick it with a tape. I'm using this scotch tape here for attaching this paper on all four sides. So we are using here silver black velvet brushes, size 8, 4, and size one liner brush. So you can use any brush for medium brush and thin brush with a pointed tip to give the details. I'm also using a very rough brush here to apply the masking fluid. So you can see this is a PBO masking fluid that I'm using. It has a natural blue tint, so it is easily visible when we apply it on the paper. And you should use a rough brush with it. Otherwise the brushes will get spoiled. So we are just going to use this for creating the little birds in our composition. Next, we will require palette. So I'm using these sediments palette, but you can use any valid that is available. We will lead these watercolor paints. I will explain all the colors that are required in the subsequent section in detail. So we will require a pencil to draw the flower and practice the sketching. We will also require a black gel pen to give little highlights. And we will also require the eraser to rub the excess pencil marks so that it is not visible through the watercolor. And most importantly, we will require a glass of water to wet our pins. We will also require tissue paper to dab off the excess water and pains. We can also use a kitchen towel and it can be reused. So that's it for the supplies.
3. Lanata Camara Flower Study and Sketch: So now let us sketch the Linton of lovers based on the reference image. So LinkdIn flowers are made up of multiple floods. And these floods are circular in shape, but they are not perfect circles. They're like vaguely random shapes. So we can just create some random circular motion for these floods. So I have created two layers, and this third layer floods. I'm creating half as the flower is at an angle. In the center, we have these little squares which give more definition to the flower. You can also see this previous plug-in that I have sketched. So this is a frank facing flower and it is surrounded by beautiful leaves. The leaves of the Linton and flowers have 2D shape. So we will create this zigzag motion to get the 2D shape. Next we will add a bird. So as you can see in the reference image, the bird have little squares and they are arranged in a circular shape. So we will just create small square shapes and arrange them in a little circle. Also, some of the flowers have these babies. So we can add a bunch of berries. So you can experiment with different elements and create different compositions. So I've just added a little baby surrounded by the leaves. So the sketches very simple for this Flavel. Let us see some compositions that we can create. So this is a class project we will see in detail. Here we have one main flower followed by side facing flowers. Then we have two main flowers and a side facing flowers and little bites. Also, you can create a bookmark. So this is with the leaf background that we will see using negative painting technique. So I have created one bookmark using this technique so you can create different things. Then this is simple bookmark with a single Linton of level and a bird. Then we have a bookmark with two flowers and some berries. So there are endless possibilities that you can create. I really loved this natural beauty, this via flavors, and I tried to create different options. So let's start learning and creating in the next section. See you there.
4. Color Swatches: So let's look at the colors that we will require. So I'm using a leaf green color. It is a very light and pretty color. If you do not have this, you can make so little yellow to the sap green and get this light tone of color. Next, we will require sap green. So this is available with most of the artist grade colors. Next, we require the undersea green color. So it is a beautiful color with dark tint. I'm using this undersea green. Some Daniel Smith. If you do not have this undersea green, you can make, sell it in CPR to your sap green and create this. I will show you in the end how we can get this color. Next, we will require CPR. So this is a very pretty brown color. It's quite rich and dark. If you do not have set yeah, you can mix Payne's gray and burnt umber and get this down column. Ciao, I'm using this CPR from Winsor and Newton and the sea green as from Daniel Smith. Now let's see how we can create this undersea green by mixing sepia and sap green. I'm digging a little sap green and mixing it with the sepia. And you can see we have achieved almost the same color like the undersea green. So if you do not have any color, you can just experiment and do a little color mixing to achieve the similar sort of columns. So these are all the green shades that we will require it. And we will be able to create the multiple layers of the different green foliage. Now let's look at the different colors that we will require for the lender enough level. So the first one is the nickel azo yellow, or it is also called as Indian yellow in some brands. This is a very vibrant color. It has beautiful shade. So I'm going to use this yellow color in our center, most flooded. Next we will be using, or better pink. So this is again from Daniel Smith. Next we will be using alizarin crimson. This is from Winsor and Newton, but you can use a new brand available with you. So we're going to use a mix of Alizarin, crimson and overlapping to create light florets. Light pink Floyd's. So I'm just going to mix up erupting and alizarin crimson you. And I will show you the color. So this is a light pink color that we will be using for our floods. Next, we will use this permanent red deep. This is from Daniel Smith. So we will use this to give a little bright shade to our outermost Florida. So by doing this color variation, we will achieve the ombre effect of moving from the lightest yellow to ping and finally to read. So that's it for the colors.
5. Negative Painting Technique: So let's learn the negative painting technique. So as you can see in this project, we have created so many radiation of the leaves. Some are bright, they are, they are the topmost leaves receiving the maximum light. And some are down below, and they are receiving the maximum shadow. And that's why they are very dark. So we will try to create the same effect. So I've just created a small rectangle. And now within this, I am creating this different set of leaves. And we will try to give them the different color variations, as we saw in the example. So we will start by using the leaf green color. It is the lightest green that we have in the palette. And we will give a quote with this green to the entire surface. So you don't need to worry if it is dark or light or some place as any ways we have to achieve type radiation or scholar for the leaves. Now once our base layer is dry, we will create the second layer of leaves. These leaves. So we will leave out the main leaves around them. So I'm using this sap green and being around my top-most leaves. Everything else other than the topmost leaves. Now, as I say, can we even care about the leaves? And we're using this undersea green. And I'm just painting around my second layer of leaves. We're leaving out first, second layer of leaves and painting the entire surface with the undersea green. You can let it dry naturally or speed up the drying process with the hair dryer. Now as our third layer is dry, we will work on the final layer. So we are mixing some green, sap green and creating a dark mix. Final layer of leaves and paint the entire surface except the leaves. So as you can see, we are using the negative space for the painting and leaving out the leaves. Hence, this is called negative painting technique. So now while this background is getting trade, we will work on the leaves. So we're taking some clean water on our brush and rewriting our lives. Right now the topmost leaves. And now I'm dropping in some sap green on the topmost leaves. And we will blend this color. So this will give a little radiation to our leaves and they will not look very flat. We will do the same that are the leaves and drop a little bit darker shade to them and blend the color. Now for the final touches of our leaves, we will take this liner brush and we're going to give the outline to the leaves. So I'm digging my CPR color on this liner brush and I will make some good shape on the leaves. So the leaves have this point tooth-like structure on the edges. If you find it difficult to do the outline with the brush. And then you can use a pen. I like the rustic look that we get rid of glass between free to use a pen to create these outlines. We will do the same step for all the leaves. Next we're adding the veins to the leaves, to the landowner. Leaves have a really dark greens. So we are adding those also with this liner brush. And I'm adding some additional lines along the ring to indicate the little minute greens over the leaves. So you can see we achieved such a radiation of colors for the leaves. And this add so much of life to our composition by the different shapes of leaves as it is present in the nature. I hope you enjoyed learning this technique.
6. Lantana Camara Flower Practice: Welcome back. Now let us see how we can create these LinkdIn and Canada flowers. So we can either create the small so-called has we saw in the sketch and then paint over it. So I will just sketch out the innermost circles. So we have to do a vaguely circular motion. It need not be perfect circles. So I will fill the circles with our nickel, SO yellow. So you can use any yellow available with you. Now as you can see, the pencil marks are visible through the color as watercolor is a transparent medium. So I would recommend that if you're using pencil to make the outline of the circle, then you should rub it with the eraser and make it very light. As you can see, the pencil marks are visible after you paint. So with an eraser you can make the pencil marks lighter and then start painting over it. Now for the second option, I'm directly painting the circles. I am not using the pencil. So before we go to the second round of floods, first we will add small dots on these yellow fluids. So I am using the liner brush and digging Alizarin crimson over it and giving small dots in the center. So this will give the effect of the central hole that is present in the floods. Now I'm taking a mix of opera pink and alizarin crimson. So I am taking a very light mix for the second layer of the floods. So just like we created earlier floods, we're just using a regular motion of hands and creating these random circular shapes. We do not worn perfect circles for our floods. Now again, we will give the central darts with Alizarin crimson using my liner brush. So here as the paint was wit the.com spread out. So you can just wait for a few seconds and then give the dark. In this way, you can get the nice variation and a little bit spread of color that we desire. Now for the last layer, we will use elicit in Clemson directly. We are not going to mix anything with it. And we will create the last set of floods in the outermost layer. So as we want this flower to be at an angle, we are not completing this circle, but we will leave it at a semicircle, giving the impression that last second florets are not visible from this view. Also, you can observe the flood. The topmost flow rates of the outer layer are not circular. They are just a way of semicircle order, left semicircle shape. You can see. We will again give the dots with Alizarin crimson to the outermost floods. Now as an inner layer is dry, we will create a second layer for the yellow fluids jam again using the same Nicholas are yellow and giving US Central quote, I'm not covering the Florida entirely, but just at the central portion. Now we will take Alizarin crimson and given second coat towards sentence loads. We are not covering the Florida entirely, but just making a central circular shape. So this will give the effect of depth into fraud. It has the outermost layer is still wet. I will use a hairdryer to speed up the drying process. Now we will use permanent red and create a second layer for the outermost floods. So you can see by using the light colors and moving towards the darker ones, we are able to create such a beautiful ombre effect. Now we will add little square shapes in the central portion of the flower. These square shapes give a typical identity to the Lenten a camera flowers and make them stand out uniquely. Now I'm switching to size four brush, which is a medium-size brush, and creating the stem. We will also create a leaf of telling time and flower. The leaf has a 2D shape. So we will try to create that similar kind of leave for our Lynn Turner. Clever. I'm using sap green here, and I will add a little undersea green to give color variation. Now we will take sepia on our liner brush and give her dark to each of the Central Florida. So this will indicate the little hole that is present in the Florence. We will also create the veins of the leaf. As the green color is still little rate. You can see we're getting soft lines of the wins. In this example, the green was dry. That is why we guard hard lines. And here we have soft claim. So it is up to you. You can experiment and get different effects. I hope you enjoyed learning how to create the Linton off-flavors. See you in the next section.
7. Final Project - First Layer of Flowers and Background: So let's prepare people for the project. So I'm going to stick our watercolor paper on a hard board. You can use any writing tired or bored, and stick the beeper on that. I'm using scotch tape year as it comes off easily. You can use any cellular tape or masking tape for sticking the paper. You can even stick the Gabe on another surface before sticking it on the people so that it reduces the stickiness of the game. Make sure you remove any excess air that would be present in the tip so that the beam will not seep out in the gaps. Now I'm using a very light pencil as I do not worn dark pencil marks. So I will be tracing out the composition ready lately with this pencil. So just like our reference, we're going to create two front-facing flowers. So I will create a rough outline for them. So here we're going to have these two side facing flowers. We will also roughly place are bytes or two bytes on the side and Weinberg from the right side. So I'm just connecting the stems to give a complete look to the composition. And the rest of the area will be filled with different leaves. So I'm just showing few leaves, so video. But we will trace out the leaves after our first layer of being dangerous time. So as you can see, I have created very light, very faint outlines. So they are barely visible except for a few places. So I will make it lighter by giving us by gently removing the excess graphite with a razor. So if your outlines are also dark, then you can lighten them up with any reason. Now I will take my size eight round brush and create the central floods of our link data flowers. So I am taking our Nicholas or yellow or Indian yellow and making small random circles in the center of the circle that we have traced. If you wish, you can make these circles with a pencil first and then fill in the color. I am directly making these small random circles here. Now while the yellow is still red, we will take the alizarin crimson Horner liner brush and create the central dots on these floods. We will follow the same process for our side facing flowers as well. So we will create the central yellow floods and give them the dots. So I'm creating Laker Nicholas shape your go indicate that the flowers are facing sideways and now giving the center guards with television crimson. Now for the second layer of Florida, we will take a light makes us opera pink and alizarin crimson. So we dilute this, has v1, likes it. So I'm adding more water and diluting the paint. I'll add a little more Alizarin to stick Luke. So we are just creating these random circles around the yellow circles, trying to make a bunch of flooded. I'm just picking the little color from my previous flower has a field. It is literally the second layer of floods. For our central flower. You can see now again, we will give, I'm just making it, I am not making them. Take the lines. You can see. Now for the third layer of floods, we are directly using alizarin crimson mixing anything in this. So just like we do denied offense flower, I'm not completing the cycle for this flower because I am creating the flooded for our center most flower. Maybe like this, enter dots metabolism. Now let's create the final layer of flooded. I'm creating with the masking fluid. I'm just applying the random dots. So after the masking fluid is completely dry, we can paint over it. So then our background with a seamless composition. If you do not have masking fluid, you can use white paint or white quash later and clear these parts. Good. Now before we start with our background, makes sure that the masking fluid is completely dry. So we will use our lightest green or the leaf green and give a complete chord to the background surface. So we will carefully paint around the flower and cover everything on our paper. Right now the masking fluid is completely dry, so I'm just painting around it. And I can paint the next layer of green over the bird. So we are done with the first layer of our flower and the background. So we will wait for this to dry completely before we paint the second layer of the background.
8. Final Project - Background Layers: So now as a first layer of paint is dry, let us sketch out the leaves. So these leaves are the topmost leaves. They receive maximum sunlight and minimum shadow. There is no fixed rule of where you want, which leaves. You can just go by your intuition. You can refer to this reference image that I will be uploading in the project section. And you can create the similar set of values. Now we will take some sap green and paint around these leaves. So we will leave out the sketch of the leaves that we have created and cover the rest of the portion. So you can see we are leaving out the topmost leaves so that they are lighter in color and they are covering the rest of the background with the sampling. So you just need the color. You can see we're getting this thing around. We had also been doing over there. So that when we remove the masking fluid, beautiful light stand out and the green background with. So here I have accidentally put some beam over my leaf by the new norm, ready as we will be adding some more colors over the leaves to give them the shading effect. So right now if you see the leaves are looking flight. So we will add some more color and blended. So director, they have this beautiful shading that you can see in the reference. Now begin, let it dry naturally. Or we can use a hairdryer to speed up the drying process. We will first sketch out the leaves. So I'm just randomly creating the leaves. These leaves will be a little darker and they will have a little shadow on them. So you can just draw directly between the leaves as you go, or you can make them with a pencil and then being developed. So once you have decided where you want to place the leaves, then we will take undersea green and leave out the leaves that we just sketched out. Just like we did for the leaves. The main subject being such a beautiful colors. So see you in the next section.
9. Final Project -Final Background Layer: Welcome back. So now as our layer is dry, let us create the comics for the last layer. So we will make CPR along with undersea green and sap, green and theater dark mix. So for this layer, rather than creating the sketch of the leaves with the pencil, I am directly creating the sketch with the paint and painting around those leaves. If you wish, you can first create the sketch of the leaves with a pencil. And then being done the surrounding area, just like we did for the other leaves. So this will be quite fast as we have to exclude almost everything and just paint on the remaining surveys, leaving the leaves and the flowers. And as you go along, you can decide where you want your darkest leaves, which are at the bottom, and they received the maximum shadow. Medium. You can see how beautiful subsequently. So your color consistency in the Lord be really take even when it is tin and it's a dark color, it gives a beautiful background effect. If the color is, if the paint is to take, then it will look like artificial layers that we have a plate. So we're done with all the layers for our background. Now we will again re-read the topmost leaves. So right now the leaves are looking flat with only one color. So I'm taking a damn brush. So there's only water in my brush. And I am rewriting my top-most leaves. After this, I will just drop in a little sap green on these leaves and blend the colors so that I get a shading effect on these leaves. So just take some sap green and apply a dark few places on these leaves. Make sure you're not covering the entire leaf, just maybe the sides. And then you can take a clean brush and blend these two colors. Since our leavers vet, the sap green will bend nicely. If the surface was dry, then it would be very difficult to blend these colors. So we will repeat the same process for all the other leaves. So we will read them with plain water and then apply a little darker shade. By dropping in the darker shade and blending it with the original leaf. We are getting beautiful shading for the leaves. I really like how the leaves are turning out. Beautiful, vibrant. Hope you're enjoying this process too. So that's it for the final layer of leaves. Next, we will give finishing touches to our flowers and then create the wins for the leaves. See you next.
10. Final Project - Final Layer of Flowers: Welcome back. Now let's give finishing touches to our flowers. So I'm taking the same yellow, nickel azo yellow or Indian yellow, and creating smaller circles on our yellow florets. So this is not covering the entire yellow flooding, but only the Central Park. And this will give the effect of depth in the floods. So the link daniel camera flowers can be either a dense bunch or a loosely packed bunch of floods. If you want to create a dense bunch, you can fill in the white spaces with the little yellow or relative pink and just cover up the whitespaces. So now for our second layer of floods, we will take Alizarin crimson and create the similar so-called For the second florets. So you can make it lighter in color and give it the pinkish touch. As I have used a dark alizarin crimson. Similarly, you can use a darker color is red. We're just creating smaller circles on our previous flooded. Now for the last layer, I'm using permanent red. And again, we will treat the small circles on the outermost floods. You can even add a little CPR to the red to get a darker tone. So it depends on personal choice. If you want to create dark set of flowers, then you can hope for the darker shade. As you can see in my earlier reference creation, it is lighter circles floods. So you can go with the colors of your choice. And I didn't create darker or lighter bunch for the LinkdIn of Legos. Now as we're done with the flowers, I will remove this masking fluid. And then we will give the finishing touches to our bites. So you can rub the masking fluid gently with your fingers or Tom. Or you can use an eraser to rabbit and take it out. Make sure your paint is completely dry when you're removing the masking fluid in order to avoid any spreading of the beam. Now we will in our liner brush in the center of the floods. So this will give an indication of the central hole that is present in the floated. We will repeat the same process for all the flooded. We will also give a little outline. And this will also add a little shadow to the central part. So you can just look back at your flowers and see where you want to make the shape of the floated little more circular. So this is completely optional. You can leave it random, rough, vaguely circles or you can make them more circular. So we are done with our flowers. Congratulations. In the next section we will create the veins for our leaves. See you there.
11. Final Project - Leaves Finishing Touches: So welcome to the last section. So now I'm digging some sepia on the liner brush and creating the shape edges of the leaves. So as the lean donor leaves have the pointed structure. So I'm creating that zigzag motion for the edges and also creating very fine grains with the liner brush. I'm also adding smaller veins, do our mean wins. So the link data leaves have a Willie wins. So we are creating these mean means and also adding the supporting wins in the form of small lines to it. Since we are using same CPR for creating this boot shaped edges of the leaves. And our background is also similar color. So the outline is blending properly with the background and it is not looking artificial outline for the leaves and it is blending nicely. And you can see by adding this outline, it is giving such a beautiful finishing touch in order to get the proper angle. Lastly, we will give finishing digestible bites. So I'm just taking some sap green and covering the extra white space that we have once we remove the masking fluid. So the bytes have little spherical shapes. So we are just putting in the green color in the extra space and giving more definition to our bites. You can also use a black pen. So it is completely optional. Creation now comes the fun part of removing the date. Make sure you remove the day Biden angle and not street. So this will avoid the dating of the paper. So that's it for our final creation. I hope you enjoyed creating this as much as I enjoy teaching it.
12. Final Thoughts: Congratulations on completing your class project. Thank you for joining me in this journey, and I'm so excited to see your creations.
