So let's have a look and get stuck straight into some of the highlights of what you can expect to learn in this course and why I've actually put this course together. So I'm Malcolm Dewey, a professional artist and writer and most a big fan of Pinterest. I've also written the book The Art of Content Marketing Way. Pinterest plays a prominent part in a visual content marketing strategy and because I believe that Pinterest is the standout social media channel for this type of strategy. After voted this entire course to Pinterest and calling Pinterest, the Social Media Channel is something doesn't really do Pinterest. We'll give it the credit it deserves because Pinterest is not simply a social media channel , it's much, much more than that, and you'll get an idea of the scope and impact that Pinterest has and is going to be having in the future. Four are stripping on believe any of the other channels that are currently available. What you learn on this course is wipe. Interest is ideal for your content marketing strategy. We'll start at the beginning, but we won't spend a lot of time on how to open your count, because you'll be pretty much confident of doing that pretty quickly. We'll be looking at things to optimize your count, certainly. But most of all, we're going to focus on a hard to find and build your audience and optimizing your pins, your boards and your general approach to your strategy on Pinterest. This will result in an increase of traffic to your plug and business, and we'll find out hard to leverage their traffic so that it doesn't go to waste. And we'll also look at some of the X excellent applications you can use to make your Pinterest experience better and more effective. And there's gonna be much more as well some of the things you haven't come across and some of the things that are going to do a lot more for your business. So let's look, have a look at some of the Pinterest facts and stats that really bring home high important Pinterest is going to be with over 200 million users at the moment and growing at about 40% perent. Um, this is, according to Pinterest analysis off the usage, so it's not simply a figure pulled out of the sky at 40% growth per annum. That's going to at some point in the near future art strip a lot of the other big players in the social media industry and surprisingly enough, over 50% or about 50% of users currently or outside the United States. So you're getting a big part off the global, um, impact that you can start leveraging as well currently about a 70 30 split between women and men. But that is also changing as more men come on board. Engagement is about 80% and we'll touch on that again. But this is a startling statistic. We're engagement on other media channels are in the region of 1 to 2%. So what this is referring to is the mount off pens on Pinterest or in fact, reap UN's from users about 80% of that so there's a lot of engagement with high quality posts that are happening on Pinterest something you don't see anywhere else, and you'll find all categories off interest on Pinterest from fashion art to order murder of and D I Y. And everything else that you can have an interesting and the people you'll find on Pinterest or probably just what you're looking for. About 40% earn over $100,000 per annum, which makes it a pretty high end marketplace. 61% have discovered brands for the first time on Pinterest. Brains just like yours and mine are being discovered on Pinterest all the time. 71% of users say they're looking for new ideas, and the percentage of male users is growing on Pinterest all the time as well. So this means that people using Pinterest are getting on there to find things that are active users looking for something useful inspiration or information that they can actually use. It's not simply idle daydreaming through a timeline, flipping it through like they're on some of the other social media channels. These people are engaged, they have the means to purchase and adopt new ideas, so that makes it a significant audience that you can become part of a swell visual marketing is a big part off content marketing. I'll be referring to that quite a few times through the course, but visual marketing is our deal for building your blood and your business and growing your brand increasing traffic leads and also sales. So this is just what you need for your overall content strategy, and Pinterest is going to fall right into that, um, objective off yours. So what is it about Pinterest that makes this a special and even a new online experience? According to research by Pinterest, up to 61% of Pinterest users come away from the experience happier and more inspired. Now compare that to other social channels where people are just flipping through the timelines, getting aggravated or upset. This posts off political or other incendiary top post that just make people upset. But on Pinterest, you finding a largely a curated um, environment, way pins and what lies behind those pens has been tested out and is of a high quality. So people are going on to Pinterest looking for a positive experience, and they're looking for something useful that's going to help them. Maybe they want to purchase something where they weren't advice in a D. Our project was simply to find the latest fashions from some of the favorite brands. The fact is that they're not going on to Pinterest to look two for something that's going to be disappointing or to be provoked. So this makes Pinterest overall a satisfying experience for its users and something that most of us can enjoy and get the benefit off all for free. So it's up to you and I to be able to contribute to this experience and make our contributions and pens to Pinterest off high quality. So we will be contributing in a positive way, and the benefit will be almost immediate as well. The benefit to you, your business, your blood. What if it you are trying to promote as well? So what? So you are participating in that as well. And you'll discover that one of the major benefits of Pinterest is the longevity off the pens and how they can keep giving back to you even years after you've posted up in now went discourse not to just be a usual step by step. How do you open an accountant The usual kind of stuff you'll find about Pinterest. We're going to go deeper into it about how you can use the Pinterest to improve the monetization off your blawg and business traffic generation and various tactics you can use in an ethical manner. This is not about trying to game the system or be unethical. I want this experience for you to be a positive one because you're contributing to something that is quite special on the Internet right now. 3. The Potential of Pinterest: so in this. Listen, I want to look at some of the potential off what you can expect from Pinterest, why we're going to use Pinterest. And I'm going to give you a brief insight into the benefits of using Pinterest for your strategy and some of the reasons why I think Pinterest is so hot right now for your business. So let's have a look at why Pinterest Now, when we look at other social media and in general, the first response is always Facebook is the right way to go, then followed by Instagram and Twitter and all the others. But what has happened over the past year or so, and especially in 2018 we've seen major changes once again in Facebook's algorithm, and these things are also going to be influencing Instagram as well. And if you've had a Facebook, page would have noticed that organic traffic is all but dried up, and I'll give you an example off statistics later on in this Listen, but the point is that all of these giant social media channels now want to work on a pay to play basis. So if you want to get even to a fraction off the followers on your Facebook page, for instance, you gonna have to pay for it. Where is with the Pinterest? My experience has bean that even with using Pinterest on a free basis, the increase in traffic and ah, positive leads generated from all of that traffic has been phenomenal. And as I said on the free channel So what is the reason for this tremendous growth that's I've experienced on other bloggers and e commerce? People have experienced a swell. And the thing that makes printers so different from all these other channels is what we're gonna be exploring in this course and high can exploit that for yourself. So the biggest change of experienced over the past couple of years of Pinterest is a tremendous growth in traffic. And this has bean simply due to very focused strategy and optimizing my usage off Pinterest . And these are things were going to be focusing on this course. It's about doing these things without putting any money into it. I have experienced phenomenal growth from Pinterest, and this is why our Billy Pinterest is the answer for everyone in a creative business. So when dealing with the subject off content marketing. I prefer to refer to the use of print wrist as part of my content marketing stress free. It's not a social media strategy. It's not about. I'm keeping up with what my friends are doing online and they private life. This is part of a content marketing strategy, and Pinterest falls into this so brilliantly have gone into content, marketing strategy and a lot of detail in my book called The Art of Content Marketing. And you can find it on Amazon as well. But specifically, we got to remember that social media is there to amplify your content. It's part of your strategy, and it helps you to focus on your visual storytelling as well as your written content. This pulls your brand leads and eventually your sales as well. The thing of With Pinterest is that it covers all of these visual content marketing strategies. It provides excellent traffic for your visual content and your written content. But of course, we use visuals to drive traffic to your written content as well, so it all works seamlessly together. Visuals are so important, and as part of your strategy, you're going to be optimizing your visuals as well, and we're going to look at that as well. But why? Visuals? Why is the visual contents are phenomenal? And it comes down to a lot about how we behave as human beings. 80% of what you see is retained in your memory for more than simply reading it or listening . So if we can use visuals to support the written content we produce and even, uh, spoken content, as faras put costs are concerned, You can use visuals as well on your block to support your podcast. So visitors 40% of visitors to your site will respond better to visuals than text alone. I think that it's self explanatory. You immediately look at a picture before you dive any deeper into them. If you don't like the picture you may, you might not want to read. The article. Also, video tremendous growth in that Andi video is a great part off Pinterest, a swell, and we'll have a look at how you can use Pinterest for that. The visuals result in 40% more shades. Use visual content. You're going to get more social media traction as well, and in general, your social media channels are now focusing on visuals and, to a large extent on video. And as I mentioned before, Pinterest makes all of your visuals keep working. Over the long term, you're not tied down into that little timeline, that short space of time on these other channels timelines. And that is one of the most powerful parts of Pinterest. Pinterest is growing extremely fast. Nearly 200 million users and growing and we've seen on 88% of Pinterest users have purchased based on Pinterest fines. There's also a huge social engagement on Pinterest, not about latest news of what's happening in someone's timeline, but because up to over 80% off the pens on Pinterest or, in fact, reprints that conversion rate is staggering and no other social media channel comes close to that. I think Twitter is under 2% off tweets or retweeted, but on Pinterest, 80% off the pens or, in fact, reprints. Are you going to pretty much guarantee if you get your pinning stretchy correct, you're going to get a lot off reprints. So Pinterest users are actively seeking useful content, and they generally intend to act on that content as well in some form or other, which is a great opportunity for you. So let's look at a few stats. Justo, Um, a taste off, perhaps what is to come? So my experience has bean The return on the investment of using Pinterest cannot be beaten . For example, publishing an article on what blood. Within the first few hours or so off that day, I may get about 25 people organically just visiting to read the article. But as soon as Pinterest kicks in and I share that article by means of an optimized on my Pinterest blog's board immediately the amount off referral traffic I get from Pinterest to that plug rockets up, as you can see from this ah, record that was sent to me shortly after posting an article, the traffic coming back from Pinterest for exceeds anything off the other channels like Twitter and Facebook. So what's ah impressive about that? If you look at my followers on a number of channels, you'll realize that it's got nothing to do with the number off followers on Pinterest. You can see on Pinterest to get relatively modest following off just over 1400 compared to Facebook, where I've got over 7000 followers but have published that same article on birth channels on the same day. The amount of traffic get from Pinterest four and above by a country mile exceeds anything I get from Facebook. This is obviously due to Facebook's algorithm changes. It's not because people on Facebook done want to look at the article. They're just not getting that article and they're in is the problem. So you can see on, uh, in May 2018? I've taken a number off social channels that have referred traffic to me over the first part of the month, and you can see once again a mass of 4603 visitors from Pinterest as a purse to 348 from Facebook and General Organic Search from Google 900. The others barely feature, and this, as I said, is free traffic. I haven't paid a cent towards getting those Pinterest visitors. There's are simply people visiting on the strength off pins and re pins that are placed on Pinterest. So this, um in itself, I think, puts the case for pencils as the number one traffic generating site. So with all of this use off Pinterest. We've got a tremendous growth in traffic and awareness and leads and eventually sales. And a lot of these visitors from Pinterest turned into email subscribers, which is one of the goals that I have for Meyer, Um, strategy. And as we know, the money is in the list. So if you build your email list of good and engaged email subscribers, you're going to get a much better return on that. Based on what you've seen so far, what do you think is going to be the number one benefit for you using Pinterest? Something to think about as we go further into this course?
4. Open Your Business Account: right in this. Listen, we get Teoh taken overview of how to get started with your business account on Pinterest sum of the parts we were going to in more detail, such as creating your boards and your pins. But for this, listen, we doing a good overview. You can probably use this lesson already to immediately start with your business profile and getting that complete, So let's get right in and see what we're going to be dealing with in this lesson. So we're start with opening your business account for the first time. How to set up the basics off your profile, get your website verified and setting up a board and a basic premise as well swatches a country's business account in the first place. Remember, a lot of people have a personal account on Pinterest, so the business count is something different, and the main benefits are that you get excellent analytics for free. You can use promoted pins, which are basically adverts. You can create an account and start creating a targeted campaign. If you've being involved in Facebook ad campaigns, you will get a similar sort of experience. But in my opinion, a lot easier and simpler to navigate. Setting up in advert on Pinterest, you also get a prominent link to your website and your full business name as well. So there is a distinct benefit to going the business route, and it's very simple. First of all, simply navigate to the website business dot Pinterest dot com and you'll see a big red ah button saying, Join as business. Just click on that. If you already or a member of Pinterest with a personal account, you can log in first to your personal accountant, navigate to that site and picked join as a business. Complete the sign up procedure, which is quick and straightforward. Take you a few seconds to create an account with your email password your business name. Choose your category as well, and ah, then, if you have a website put that in, I certainly do suggest that you have a website available at the stages. Will. Right? So let's have a look at the basic profile procedure. The 1st 1 of the first things you be required to select is a business type. You'll see the various types on the lower left there, for example, have chosen local business. You can change this category as well as your business develops. Maybe you become famous and you need to change it to a brand. Then the profile itself you put in your full business name in my case would be Malcolm Dewey. Fine art. Select a picture. This could be a loga or a picture off yourself if it's going to be either of those, make it good quality so that it is clear, not pixelated, and that your photo is Well, let's that maybe you're smiling or something like that. That is going to be a positive image that you want to put forward for your business. But the about you section is quite important, and you need to think about that. But the good thing is, you can always change it as you go and refine it and tweak it or optimize it for better optimization. As it says, they use keywords for your s u optimization as well. So something you definitely will be changing as you go along and want to emphasize certain keywords but keep it fairly informal, perhaps approachable and state right from the get go, what it is you're all about, and that you want people to know you fall. There isn't an example of my profile description. Professional artist giving creative tips and free painting lessons start pre painting course in oils and acrylics. So I'm clearly trying to emphasize the fact that I am an artist giving art lessons. And this is one of my main strategies for Pinterest is using my plug and, uh, also other boards as well that you'll see later on to get people to, um next except, um, various courses or painting tips from me basically building up and expertise. And this, in turn, helps me develop my painting workshops and that part off my business also do have my paintings on a gallery board as well, and, uh, but it is those paintings I'm really using to show people that I can paint and that I may be able to help them with the painting as well. I'm looking more off at an international audience in this regard, so you see the various things that appear on the profile after you fool them out your furter, the name of your business, the website name and, of course, the description in the about you column quite an important starting place for you, and you can include a few hashtags as well in your description if you want to. Pinterest is getting more hashtag friendly at this stage as well, so that might be useful. Okay, now, once you've created your profile, you'll be encouraged to create your first board. And, ah, you may as well dive straight in. This is an over overview will go into it in specific detail, but later. So the first thing you do is given name for your board. And that, as you may have realized, is also an opportunity to be is here friendly and describe what your board is about. Andi include a key word or two that forms part of your stretchy and overall business description. You'll see a button underneath there that says, Select if you want to keep the board secret. Now my suggestion is when you starting art with a new board or even a new account, put your first board as a secret board, pulled up a number off pens and then, um, release the board and as a public port, remember, once it is no longer secret, you can't make it secret again. So the idea here is to get some momentum with a nicely populated board rather than just having one or two pins. Maybe you have 10 or even 15 pins ready on that poor, and you can, um, start off publicly with a bit of a splash. Um, and ah generally looks better that way, and you can use the strategy with any new board you add on. You can leave some boards permanently secret, Um, for research or any other reasons, you may not want to divulge pens for personal reasons. Even that's up to you. You've got your name for your board. You've marked its secret, and now you got to get a good description into your board as well. Once again, um, don't waste any time with the description that is to general or rambling or whatever it may be or too short. Carefully structure your description to specifically say what it's about and what you intend to offer people from this border once again. A few key words as well, and ah hashtag or two at the end. Don't overdo the hashtag think, but if you feel there is a certain hashtag that you want to use them. Certainly. Go ahead then. Ah, what kind of board is it? It could be, Ought. It could be fashion or whatever. The whole bunch off categories. And you pick what it is You can invite collaborators. Send them an email if you want somebody to join you and also post things on to that board as well. That might be a nice thing to do with a friend or a strategic collaboration with another brand. Um, that is up to you. So that is a quick overview off sitting up your board, then creating open. You also see a big prominent plus button like this inviting you to set up you open. Um, you can create a pin quite easily by simply uploading an image and will show you that in some detail in a subsequent Listen, I do want to spend a little time on this. One of the next steps, in fact, should be verifying your website and ah Pinterest will ask you to claim your website with a verification code. Now the sounds more complicated than it really is, but is well worth doing. And the reasons for this is your bill to access the analytics that ah also useful to you, Andi, you can see on the example of put you off a particular person. You can see the statistics at the top and the number off impressions on that pictures had the number off saves Where people have save the open on basically, a save means a repin to one of their boards and also the a number of clicks that people have gone through to my website and to have a look at the painting or find out more about me as an artist. So that is very useful for you to know, Um, for example, for me to know that that type of painting is getting a lot off traction and people really enjoy that kind of painting and and I can explore that subject a lot further. So it's a kind off research as well on the work that I'm producing. Then you also get your profile photo on and name off the website alongside the pen, which also encourages people to find out more about you. So another good reason why to you should have your business name and a good picture. So verifying your website how to do that. You'll find us by going to Pinterest dot com slash sittings. Andi, your builder, the into your website address claim your website and then a new window will open up, asking you to select um and HTML tag. Now, what you do is make for a copy that tag, then go over to your website and simply paste that tag in your websites head section. I'm on the index page. If you're not sure how to do this, you can ask the support, um, side off your website on the Web site host or your I T specialist or anyone like that who may know how to do this. You'll probably find this article with a simple Google search. For example, WordPress add ah claim website for Pinterest on WordPress or weebly or squarespace whatever service you may be using, and it will be set out for you very simply. So once you've pasted that tag into your head section of your website, save the amendment click publish to update your website and then you'll go back to Pinterest. Click the submit button and Pinterest will then automatically check and verify your website , and once done, your website name is going to appear alongside your profile, as I've shown you, but earlier and that's it. It should take you 20 minutes or so and it will be done. So there you have your business account and your verified website, and you're ready to start building up your new boards with pens. So I think if you're ready to start, why don't you go through and create your business account if you have not already done so?
5. How to Convert Personal to Business Accounts and Whether You Should or Not: Now we have spoken about I'm playing your business account on Pinterest. But what if you already have a personal account? Is it necessary for you to convert that account or create a new account? Pinterest clearly does provide you with an option to convert your existing personal account into a business account. So why would you not want to do that? You might have a large following already on Pinterest in your personal account, and you may be getting a lot of feedback from that already and positive feedback for what you're doing. But you find that Pinterest is now actively encouraging personal accounts that are leaning towards business promotion to go to the business account option. So we're going to look in more detail. Why convert from your personal to business account and then also the conversion procedure So converting to business as we've already discussed to some extent, you get a lot more extra features for your marketing efforts and in effect, Pinterest is now requiring you to do this. You also get analytics that acquired comprehensive and useful, especially for each pen as well, and you get the profile, branding and exposure we've referred to in opening your account. You can use the promoted pins or adverts and your Sigit future marketing updates as well. So you get that benefit. And of course, Pinterest is a business, a swell, and if you go to business account, they would obviously benefit. If you use promoted pins as well, they get the revenue that way. But I think it's important to remember that you can still keep a personal account and open a new business account in the name of your business itself so you can keep the two separate that way. Um, something taken to Facebook profiles on Facebook pages. What I found is that once you do open a business count, it is a lot more exciting and interesting anyway. And you put all your focus and efforts onto that Pinterest's business account. Um, if you have things, you wonder print pin that or not business related, and you don't want people to see as part of your business then trade a secret board or two was many a czar necessary and have those been to a secret board as well. But you've got these options, so if you go to business, I think there is no real reason why you shouldn't and either open a separate business account or, if convenient, convert your personal to a business account. If you do choose the conversion route, you may have to clean up your account a bit and remove some of the irrelevant stuff or anything that is detracting from a strategic focus for your business. So how do you convert? If you already have your personal account, you can go along to the business about Pinterest dot com. Onda Once you've logged in and you do that, you will see a big red button that all see if you want to convert your existing account so you can click on that button and then follow the steps. As previously described for opening a business account. The procedure you'll follow from there is pretty much the same decide which is going to be best for you. Um, I think, though, that the main point is have a business account one way or the other. Either completely separate or convert your personal account so we can really get the full benefit off Pinterest for your blogged and business
6. The Pinterest Board Tweaks You Need to Have: Okay, now we've got the accountable set up. Let's have a quick overview off creating your first board and your first pin. We will go into more detail later on on creating a perfect pin for your boards. But this is Ah, quick start God, just to give you an overview by and some highlights off the process. So the our plan here is to create an optimized board and optimized pens. So once your profile is set up, you will be prompted to create your first board. And as I'll explain later on, I'll show you how you should go about planning your board strategy and your keywords, searchers and so on. But we'll get to that in more detail. Let's just get the overview done. So the first thing you'll do is come up with a board name and you'll have a key word in that as well as you want to align it with your content strategy. So give the border name and then I suggest sitting it on a secret, bored sitting and told. You have been able to populate the board with a number off pens already, and you are happy to then launch it to the world. Once that it is launched publicly, you can make it secret again. So start off with it as secret and work from there. So I've created a board. Yeah, that off called Impressionist paintings. And now I'm going to start the optimization process with the board and description. So let's see how this works. Moralists in a step by step procedure. So here's our board with the description. Click on the edit button. Put in the name full description for the board, which I have prepared already and paste in there. See, there's the HASHTAG as well category described in art. Settled on Secret board. No collaborators. So I can just save this now and the board is saved and you can see the description. There you can see the lock button on adding a section, the section for California Impressionists. Condon. You see the section now I can't add a description for that section. That description is for the main board description itself and then click on the sections to add apron. So credit pin click on the plus son on, I'm gonna upload and the image from my computer. There it is, putting the website a pen description and click on done on. Then we will have the 1st 1 ready. But I first got a selector. Boards are select Impressionist paintings, California Impressionist and I'm also suggested I should follow this board as well, Which I'll do because I'm interested in the subject. So that's done and saved. There comes the pin with the description that off putting and we're all set, our 1st 1 done. So when you idiot you're bored, you'll be faced with this window. And whenever you come back to the board to make changes, this is where they will be, and then you can save those changes. So it's good news. If you've come up with a different description idea or want to move in a slightly different direction, you can always amend that description. So general tips to optimize your board a user's picture year off a board of mine called My Artist Plug and are published happens to that to, um, highlight new blogged articles and also repurposed older blogged articles. And we'll talk about more about that later as well. So I think off a particular theme for your board. As with the previous example, you could make it Impressionist paintings as you general theme and then break it down into sections. French Impressionism, California Impressionism, whatever you want and even different artists as well. Impressionist artists. Bye bye. A section by section Claude Monet, etcetera. Things like that. So that's your general theme, and you can then draw down a bit further, then your descriptions. You want to also include keywords that you've researched and found a swell that you know you want to put in those descriptions for your board to keep in mind your general brand goals. If you want to be known as an academic, even on a part, you would then have a stretch here but creating boards that align with your expertise in that field. Um, if you want Teoh, teach art like I am, um, in a particular top of genre with me more of contemporary Impressionism, I would also want to refer to the original Impressionist as well as part off a general theme and also a brand goal to build up my brand as an expert in that area. I'm not including a section on how to rebuild murder blacks, although I find that subject very interesting. as well. It has absolutely no relationship to the brand goal. I have off being an expert in the art field and then creating your 1st 1 basic procedure. We've touched on already, and we will look how to make that pin look really excellent and one that people will want to Repin out of a natural curiosity because that room is attractive and optimize to such an extent. Now, how do you find your first pin? If you're not creating it yourself, then you will be looking at other Pinterest boards, finding lots of interesting things which are do encourage you to do our personally. Spend quite a bit of time almost every day, 20 minutes or so, looking at my Pinterest feed and repeating things that interest me and would be great on one of my boards on my business account. And then you can also upload opens that you have prepared already from your computer. And of course, you can save them from other websites that have a pin it button or a widget that makes it possible for you to pin from other sites. You must obviously have something similar on your website, and we will get to that as well
7. Traffic Boosting Techniques: right. One of the top reasons relax interest so much is because it does increase the traffic to your blogging and Web site. So we're going to look at a few best practices that you can use an overview really off what you can do to improve and the amount off people that are gonna be pinning from your website and also to improve in turn the traffic on back to your website from Pinterest. So we're going to look at traffic boosting tactics you can use on how to make it easy for people to share your images, your fist practices for pinning and how to get more engagement from followers. So the problem we're going to Sylvia is visitors to your website. And first of all, let's make it easy for people who are on your website or ready to share your images and to pen them to their Pinterest boards. So Step one is go over to the Pinterest Developers Page and specifically the widgets, and you see the address on the left hand side here and their number off options. You get through the Pinterest, which it too a safe. But on a follow button, Penn widgets, profile and board widgets. And, ah, we're gonna have a look and see how a few these work, Um, and a couple of third party applications. You may also want to try as well, and I'll show you one of those that I like and you receive now from the, uh, which it's page on Pinterest the instructions that you need to follow. And basically you just need to get, um, a piece off Java script I copied and pasted into your website and do that once put page and then also add another. Snap it on Java script for the particular which that you want, but you'll see more about that in a moment when we only would just page um, you can experiment and check a few things how they're going to look already. So to be able you to use the widget page, you obviously need your account and some published boards as well. And, uh, on da few pins, important things to consider, or these sizes off these widgets and how they're going to look on your website so you may have some size constraints may refusing a side ball. You need a tall and skinny widget things like that that you can preview these on Pinterest before you put them on your website. Um, remember when you using the would just make her to actually use your own your URL for that board open or profile? You'll get that from your Pinterest page and then copy that and paste it into the widget maker itself. But let's see how this works. What's Ah, here we are on Pinterest Developers Page specific, the D widget Builder page, and you can see different widgets you can create at the top here. We started off with the save button, and there are a number of options for safe buttons you can make up specifically three year . So can be a little complicated at first. But option one is as you say, you can see it is one image, and you can have a specific image on your blog's or website that you want people to save to Pinterest. So in this respect, we going to pick one image that we want to you, um, put in and create the HTML code that we can then paste into our website so you'll get the save button and ah So let's pop over to my paintings page on my website. And let's say we're gonna use this image. Yes, I'm going to right. Click on this and copy the image address and then put back into Pinterest developers and scrolled on. I'm gonna put to the image you or l over here that I've just copied. All right, so that's there, then. The girl specifically it's going to be my paintings for sale page. So I'm going to copy that. Pop that in there from a website. I can write in a description. I can use this description. So that's a yacht Colors copy. A love that. So look first of him. Okay, so that description will automatically populate. They open. Well, this particular printer, when somebody saves it, I can put in ah, uncounted for once to appear above the button or not. Um, other options have around one Lourdes. Maybe That looks good. So right then, remember, have this Java script once on the particular page that you are putting the safe that button . Okay, now then I can copy this entire but of curd. Drop it into an edge, Timo. Um, six. And on my website So let's say I can then create um on the back end off my page. Drop in the HTML Well, maybe year with this rampant space dragon on HTML window dropping that HTML curd and then the save that button will appear here. So when somebody then clicks on that saver button, it's going to take away this information that are fold in the euro's descriptions and everything. And it's gonna pre populate that pin on that Visitors own Pinterest board, so I'm making it easy for them to do a work Now. The couple of other options? Yeah, um, you can simply choose any image and just put that next to any image. So Pinterest will also sucking that information to that person's board. You can also create an image hover button. So when they go over your image that hover buttons country appear, that's got a nice option as well. Um, something like that. You may prefer that so that's three options for the saver, but quite a lot to consider, and you must decide what is best for your website. All right, let's have a look at the next widget to this is the follow widget and Ah, you pop into your Pinterest account for your profile and get the You are l for that copy pasted in here and then you build it. Generate a follow button that you can, um, place on your blood or website. Give it a description. Just got to get that right. It's on the size of description. Has a limit. Work that out, and it's quite a discreet button, a follow button, so I would normally attach a description above it with some text, a call to action or something to that effect just to on encourage someone to follow your particular profile. That's no. Have a look at deepened widget on are quite like these. You could take a selected that maybe is quite important to you and in bed that somewhere, obviously you can in bid the spoon underneath your blogged articles as well. So emphasis a simpler option for you, then putting an image So I've got the euro for that pen. Pop it in, and now you can preview the pin with the description and your count name. It's all there, and the smart encourage people to pin this directly from your block whips, onside ball whatever. It might be quite a nice option. Different sizes. But the small is pretty large in itself, So another nice widget is the board itself. So if you want to get more followers for a particular board, your most important board, for example, in my curse, probably take the plug. Open that up. Copy the euro at the top off your page on once again, post that in and then preview the board. Now you can choose different sizes. This is a sidebar option, and you can see as its name suggests, I'm a skinny. I'm size that you can place in the side ball off your blood. So very nice option to have on your website block. He's a couple of other different sizes, banners and squeeze and and so forth. You can place at the top of website page what the bottom as you prefer, and you can even experiment with different sizes yourself and get something to fit exactly where you want it. So that's a pretty nifty option. Are your profile. You can also create enough profile which it to encourage people to visit your profile and follow you So as you can guess, the procedure In our copy profile hand place that into the widget builder and the U you can have a nice profile, which it maybe on your about you, Paige and encourage more printers follows that way. So all of these options nice and neat, quite attractive. I've got a couple of thes sample ones next, my blood as well, and I think they do work. Anyone's interested in Pinterest. They may enjoy this option that there are a couple off third party options you can use as well. I like the service provided by Add this and you can open a free account. And one of the nice things that they do offer is an attractive, um, social sharing buttons, and you can play the sin onto any website. You'll notice that when our hover over an image on my website, very nice on pin it overlay is generated, and I found that to be quite useful. So if you visit, add this, you will see the service you can sign up for free, very easy to set up, create a profile, and what I've done is put there Pinterest hover function onto my side so that when you see an image and go over it. You can see the share buttons pop up on the left hand side. That's the old button there, and I find this quite attractive and certainly gets your attention. So click on that and you will go into your Pinterest account on you company the image you'll see under the image of really Written and Ortega, which has got the name of the painting so you can save that quite nicely that way. Another good took to remember is creative open for each of your blood bursts and put that pin at the bottom of your block post with a Coulter action asking people to in this image you can give them a reason for doing so. Um, for example, to help them remember on the article if it was useful to them or simply a cold action to say, friend, this image to your Pinterest board and it does work people are people on. Pinterest will appreciate the fact that you have a perfectly made pin radiant waiting, and they can just turn it straight off. Obviously you optimize that image as well with a description, because that description is going to appear on their board already, and you don't want them to have to type out of description and get things wrong. So put it in and as the old tag on your images, when you say that to your website. So let's have a look at how to add on all tech to your image. Yeah, I've got a ready made Pinterest image on my block. Put in the description in the old tag save and then publish the post. All right. A few tips as well for your pins is experiment with different sizes, the standard size 600 by 900. I like the 600 by 16 80 pixels. Although the entire image may not appear, the top hitter part off the been does appear in the feed. And once you click on that, the whole thing opens up, and I think it just has more impact. But you must experiment with that works best for you. Um, a nice description. And if you want to use a should Euler like Tell Wind, for instance, but will means open a free account with Tell wind and experiment with it. I do like this scheduling function and create different pens for these same content over time, Come back to what is working well, generate a new plan for that particular content and add that to Pinterest. So it's after 34 months. Um, and Eupen is definitely overdue for a top performing article. This particular pin A to this point, has generated over 2000 clicks to my blood article, and this is awful free. I would never have got that volume of traffic for something like this from another social media channel. A few things to remember to make sure is that your Pinterest profile is updated and optimized. For key words that you put regularly, try and aim for at least five a day. That's not much to ask for. Try a shed Euler like Tell Wind and Sea Heart Goes for you and joining groups on Tell Window or, as they call them, tribes to amplify the engagement and viral nature off your pins. And also check your analytics, see what he's working. Pick those out, rinse and repeat repurpose content, repurpose puns
8. How to Make Pins that Drive Traffic: So one of the most important things about using Pinterest, of course, is having pens on your board. Now you can obviously Repin other people's pens and you certainly encouraged to do that and interact with other pin is as well. But of course, what we really getting down to you is being able to create your own prints that is gonna promote your content on your blood or website. So this means we need to create excellent pins. An excellent pen is one that is going to engage with other people here. We're going to look at what is the ideal plan look like, why you should even bother and EPS that you can use to make this a simple process. And we're gonna didn't look at a demonstration where I create open on and uploaded to Pinterest. Okay, so why bother was making any particular effort with your pens and festival? The most important issue is we went as much engagement with your pens as possible. The Pinterest smart feed algorithm also favors pins that are getting more engagement, and they is certainly one of the factors is, for example, that the pen is a vertical image. Those definite get more traction and then horizontal or square images. And it's not just, um, what I've been told. I have no to start with my own pins as well that there is definitely an improvement now. Some images are not going to work with vertical. For example, if I'm doing a landscape painting, I'm gonna put up an image off a landscape shaped pin. But they are ways to, for example, incorporate a number off paintings one above the other, perhaps a Siri's that you can create a vertical image as well. So there are many ways, and I encourage you to. I'm trying more than one kind of for any topic, and that's way off keeping your content repurposed over time. If Pinterest is going to reward you for making great pins, then let's try and do that as often as possible and optimized this process as well to make it a simple is possible. So over time I've have a number off APS that I've used and become familiar with, and I'm going to show you those, and you can see how quickly and simply I can produce these pens. Of course, if there's something a particular program that you are extremely familiar with. You may want to use that anywhere Top four applications that I use. I'm gonna focus on top three for the purpose of creating these pens. And that is pixels for my stock images and other good option is picks Obey. I prefer pic monkey for making the pins and this is a pic monkey Pro The count and then Ken va is also good, but I prefer pic monkey for generally preparing pins that when comes to more advanced things like infographics for instance, Canada is definitely preferable. Right Time for a demonstration? I think so. This is the pen that I'm going to create. I've written a blood article recently and I went to the spin to illustrates the article on Pinterest. So the article on Pinterest is or the pin on Pinterest is going link back to the article and we're going tol have look at how put this together right Sir years the article that appeared and is already on my block And now I'm going to create a pincer I got two pixels and look for a suitable image and putting the term called painting and describing through what comes up and what catches my eye. So I think we'll use this one. So pick an option to download. These are free images, and you have the rights to use them and picture size and then save it onto the your computer. Then I go into picked monkey and going to the templates option. Click on that and some amazing templates. Open up that you can customize pick a category, just pick up interests are you Get a load, the for mattered Pinterest images and there you go, you pick one, let your like. And I think one that I use quite often is this option. That's Ah, tall and skinny 600 were 16 80 which is kind of the size are prefer, but it was so 600 by 900 is a standard science as well, so you can right click and change the main image. Pick one from your computer, and so I pick the image that we got from pixels, and it fits in straight away. A little change as well, is to put in some a bit of branding, some putting in my website. You can also drop in a logo if you have one as well. So there we have it. And just by moving the mass wheel can increase the size of the image as well. So change the wording. You can select a whole bunch of funds on pic monkey, and you can also upload your own. If you're only pro account as well for come up with a suitable title, which may be interesting enough, hopefully for someone to look at will get their attention and, uh, his various try a different funds. I'll change the color as well for this one. The sort of mint green, I think, links up with the paint on the tube in the image. So you're kind of consider few design aspect on what text that stands are nicely. I'm looking nice and fresh. I think I had a few other elements on these accent elements because I have a video in The Sun article. I'm going to put term the traditional video play image. Let's try and get these colors to match up a swell. You can copy and paste hex Kurds into these variables as well, so it's very easy to use the same color throughout that I'm just picking them on the color picker. You quickly resize simple process as well. Okay, so they were got a video play button to hurt. Flea told people There's a video that I can watch, but I think I put a bit of script in there as well, at a bit more enticement and these things you can play with also effects. You can a plant to the script. You can have curved scriptural. Put the scripting on arc around an object. I'm things like that so you can play around with that. Sometimes a simpler approach is best, but as you probably Comptel, I like to spend quite a bit of time on this process. I enjoy it a lot, Um, but something but simpler. Let's just spill it out and very simple to duplicate takes. Just select your text and then right click and duplicate so you can get all the settings on DFO on settings and size is very easily done as well. Let's just make this center it and then make the color white fel the script Certs, but easier to see, and I think that's pretty much so. I can export this now choose your pixel size makes for the fire is not too big. Um, generally keep them under 200 kilobytes, and so export that to my computer, then into Pinterest into the pens. Click on add up and choose that image populating. Make sure I get the your healthful, the blood pursed itself. Place that in on and then write a description. And as you already know about descriptions in some detail, put your description in and then once you happy, you can save that. If you think of something else, you can always come back on the mend, the descriptions. So don't worry about getting something wrong or making a change. Just come back and do that. Okay, so now I can save the pen into the appropriate board, which is my block purse. I can click on the Penan on back into the article.
9. Essential Keyword Search Basics: at one of the most important aspect off. I'm playing your Pinterest account and using printers for your strategy off more traffic and so on is of course, being found on Pinterest. You want your boards Imprints Teoh be on top off the Pinterest feeds for everybody out there. Now, if we keep one fundamental thing in minded to this, that Pinterest is in fact a search engine. A very good search engine, in my view, because it is a visual search engine like Google itself, which is text that you're looking at with interest. You get to see the visuals and make a much better or much more curated, um, decision when looking for something. So not only is it a search engine, but it is also one that trust to curate the quality off the burdens that you find as well. And that is part of the community process with Pinterest itself. As you would expect with any search engine, the importance of keywords cannot be overstated. So we're going to look at the setting up off your boards and pins in an optimized fashion with keywords. So what we want to achieve you is, of course, that your boards. Imprints are discovered and are saved again by other people. So how to be found on Pinterest now? Pinterest has an algorithm that also is changed from time to time. I think it's referred to as Pinterest smart feed algorithm and, uh, one of the aim's off. Any smart feed one would assume is to make sure that good quality puns or put out there and the bad quality ones are sifted out. Andi, that is definitely a major part of Pinterest strategy itself is to make sure high quality happens are out there. So you want people find the panel first of all, and then be happy with the pimp in that it delivers what it promises. So make sure there's no things like broken links or a spare me top off content behind that . So what sort of happens is that you have your own feed way other people spends again to show up. So the smart feed more or less serves you with the 1st 5 pens at any particular time off your followers, and it also puts in weapons from people you don't follow. Onda bases that on quality off the pin and the relevance off that to your particular interests. So you're going to have this mix off. Penn's coming through on your feet and you can expect there on other people's feet. So it is not just the people who are following you who are going to see your prints. It is also let's call them strangers who are using Pinterest, who have the potential to discover your pen. And if your pennies good quality and has been reaping quite often, you can expect it to appear on more people's feeds, which will result in more followers for you and potentially more followers and, of course, more clicks back to your website. So they let's some have a look, then at a few things. Pinterest considers, as we mentioned, domain quality on the website, which the pin has come from or refers back to must be of a good quality and obviously no broken links. On the optimized nature of the quality off that pen on the Pinna that has a very good Pinterest account is going to find himself or herself with more pins being shared out. Why the algorithm and of course, for you to see a pin, it must be relevant to the boards or your interests as well. So so far we have set up the your business account has been verified. You've started building boards in secret, and you're following a strategy, so you got it. Now optimize your boards and pens for your keywords. For example, if I'm promoting acrylic painting lessons, they are a number of key words that come out from that, and you can start sitting out a flow chart off some sort to explore directions that you want to follow. For me, it could be techniques and a different subjects with I'm catching for beginners, more experienced artists and so on. But now I want to make sure that the keywords I'm using are in fact, going to do the job. It's not something that I've just come up with on the Florent, but you want them one point. So start off first with Pinterest, of course, because as a mention, Pinterest is a search engine, so you will go to the search, bar the talk of your Pinterest account and put in a search tomb. You have, ah, video on this in more detail, but you'll start there and you'll note that I'm certain phrases and keywords or suggested to you make a note off those keywords and phrases, write them down or put them in some sort of retrieval as well. And you'll also come across Hashtags and suggested words and phrases, so keep a good lookout for that. So what you'll find having made note of all of the's terms and key words, is that you can go to your board and complete your description. You've got 500 words you can use for your description, and that is quite a substantial. Remember, so make your description helpful. Use sentences Don't just knock out a whole bunch of keywords and hashtags That's not going to impress anyone, because you are, in fact, um, being looked at bar human beings off troll, and they're not gonna be impressed if you just shoving keywords at them. You can include a few hashtags at the end off your helpful description as well. It's nothing wrong with that, but I think volume does say something. I think you can go up to about 20 hash tags, but why would you do that? Um ah personally find that off, putting some, maybe five might be just enough. Use a similar approach to describe your pens, but more specific. Each pin is a more refined subject with under your board itself. So you got to be more specific and make sure that what you or promising with that is clearly understood by Evers Reading that description. You don't want to waste somebody's time with overly vague descriptions. Nothing to spare me what she's spilling, what your grammar people don't want to follow. Apron, bet, start, Start with poor quality. I would suggest that you start off with about five boards and that you want your most important board at the beginning. So what is the board that you want to be the door to your business? For me, it is my blawg posts. So my first board on my account is my artist block. That is the doorway to everything else, and I'm using that on a regular basis because I'm writing on DCA. Contributing to my blawg on a weekly basis on that is being updated a lot more. I can't promised to have new paintings every day. Oh, even in every particular week. But I can produce something on my block so that is the highest turnover is happening there . Then you pretty much have a very accurate board layout and the keywords are they already? So we'll have a look at a few practical ways to, um, set up your boards and find your keywords in a moment.
10. Keyword Search Practice: Now let's look at using the search function on Pinterest itself. So I go to the search bar on and I can immediately start picking up suggested items from previous visits. But let's type in a topic that I want to research some more acrylic painting for beginners . I can see all sorts of suggested keywords, topics and boards. We're going to correct painting for beginners, and I get a whole lot off suggested pens I can have a look at. But let's see at the top here only suggested keywords that will apply and that have been used on Pinterest. So this is the algorithms making suggestions off what is popular on this particular topic? No, I need to take notice off this because And this is Pinterest itself telling me what is going toe work as a search term? No. Keep these write down words that work for you. I'm going to try step by step. I like that approach and yes, the first pitch already showing and I step by step. That's quite interesting. I want to consider So you also get ideas off hard to set up, opens yourself. And as you know, you're looking for mass vertical depends on the deaf, me or favored on Pinterest. If you find a pin that you like, have a look at the description and get some ideas there as well, you can see on the left your suggested searches. You can try an interesting keyword, phrases that are going to be helpful and that other people have used already. So interest is helping me. Aren't you're saying Try these art and you might get the results you looking for. So wouldn't it be good if somebody clicked on something like that and got to your particular board open? So that's the importance off. Following these suggestions and trying to incorporate them, she is quite an eye catching on right in the middle. Nice vertical shape, Long Winston, which I think works best. Have a look at the description. 60 acrylic painting ideas to try and 2018. So that's an excellent headline and relevant for right now. First go back, and now let's create a board armed with all those keywords and phrases like it straight in there and see that my idea of a critic painting for beginners is going to be a popular topic and certainly a lot off potential, but the board on Secret save that and then we can get started on filling the board itself. So years, our board and very nice, Lee suggested below, There are a whole bunch off more phrases I can use, and I consent up boards or sections to the boards using these terms and be confident that they will be found by other people looking for subjects related to acrylic painting. There's a good one year as well. Step by step, definitely Keep that in mind so you can click on the edit function and going to the description are and full that out. Remember to use useful and helpful sentences that will be found on search and that will give a clear description of what your board is about at a few hashtags as well at the end, remember, always you can come back and amend that description, right? So Nasar description on That'll do for now. Couple Hashtags to round it off. Get the category which in this case obviously aren't no collaborators. Let's go ahead and save it. So how about some sections? Another night can draw down with this particular board following the various suggestions that turned up in our search and then create some excellent sections that are going to be helpful to people looking at this particular topic. And you can see how the curated function by users helps other users as well. And this is one of the unique functions off Pinterest as a search engine that has been worked on by real life experience from the people using it. So they re all nicely set up. I think so. Now I can start adding pins to these boards and sections.
11. Advanced SEO Tactics that Work: Okay, now there are other sources off Exxon keywords and ways we contest what is going to work for your keyword strategy. So let's have a look at some more advanced Kiwi keyword search options and the purpose off . This is to not simply rely on Pinterest own search functions, but to use the many other excellent functions we confined online. And we can start straight off with using Google itself, and I'll demonstrate all of these for you just now in the next lecture. But of course, when you put in a search term in a normal Google search, what you're going to see is an immediate drop down selection off suggested search results and also at the bottom off the Google page. There's going to be a Siri's off suggested phrases and keywords as well, so you can make note of these. This is Google, suggesting common keywords and phrases related to your specific search so you can use these quite effectively as well. Another more advanced technique is to use the whip master tools that Google for violence to you as a website owner, and you can go along to this address and look at these tools make sure your Web site is registered and you've gone through that procedure. The benefit off these, um, Web master tours is that if you look at the search analytics, you can then find on what terms on your website are already resulting in impressions on Google and Clicks. And you can then work out what is getting a lot off exposure on Google, as in the number of impressions. But if you find that you're not getting many clicks on that impression, you needed them. Try and do something about that, and we'll talk about that now. So let us say that you're getting a lot of impressions on a term or a phrase in this case, off suggested on the words acrylic painting. And let's say I'm getting 633 impressions on Google. That means, um, that phrase thus to with or appearing regarding my website on Google 633 times during this said period. The problem, however, is that if you look at the clicks, I'm seeing that our money getting eight clicks and what I would like to get is a lot more clicks from all of those impressions. So there's there's something out of alignment of their on. The solution to this is get more content with that keyword on my website and by doing that I can get more clicks. And when when I do that. For example, as of Shinya have published an article on my blogged. Put a optimize pin on Pinterest for that article, and within a couple of days I'm seeing a big click through rate back from Pinterest to that article. There's also a very other important point to keep in mind is that Pinterest is in fact indexed by Google. So what you're putting on Pinterest can be. I'm red and accessed by Google, and that's a tremendous advantage so I can increase the number off clicks for the term acrylic painting or not, just publishing more content on my website but also putting pins linking back to that article on Pinterest. Now you don't get the sort of thing with Facebook. You don't get it with Instagram. Either thing linked in has a summer benefit us well, other search potential. I'm looking for phrases and keywords. Is YouTube YouTube simply just a giant search engine with videos and Amazon, also a giant search engine with books and tons of other products, so you can see what is trending, what is popular and or phrases related to your topic on any off these major search engines . So next time you see the drop down box on any of these services, write down what you see. It might be a great suggestion for an excellent keyword or phrase in your descriptions and pens and, of course, adding more excellent content to your blogged that you can get people interested in on Pinterest. So take time to research these cures and phrases. Keep them either in Elektronik pretty retrieval system or write them in notebooks and access them from time to time. They also nice ideas for more articles, more videos, more pins.
12. Advanced Keyword Options: Let's have a look at YouTube. Put in a search term year started typing a critic painting and Ciel. The phrase is coming down. The critic. Painting techniques critic painting, beginners, step by step or great stuff and our pop over to M ism. And what do we find you as well, Getting to the search bar. Put in some somewhere search terms and and you receive critic painting supplies, critic painting for beginners, all topics or headings and descriptions. 13. The Best Approach to Monetizing Your Pinterest Strategy: The big question is camp interest. Hope you make money, and the short answer to this is, yes, it can. But the more realistic answer is you need to be persistent and patient. The Pinterest approach is not an instant hit. If you're coming out with a brand new retail item, for example, and want to get a lot of visitors and a lot of traffic very quickly, then maybe you bid off trying something like Facebook ads for that instant effect. You got Teoh really have a product in that case, that's going to instantly generate cells. But the problem these days is online. People are a lot more savvy and want a lot more trust in the products. You only need to look at comments on promotions for products on Instagram or Facebook, and you see ALS, the haters lining up telling everybody on this is a scam or delivery was late, or don't buy this product on and on and on, and it's quite disheartening. But sometimes I think people just jump on for the sake off slamming and ah, a promotion. So it's completely different with Pinterest, first of all, and Pinterest is excellent for generating trust. Over time, Pinterest has a curating function within its user. Baesa's well and you can have and we'll leave comments on pens to say that you've tried a product or you've tried to service and it's worked out for you. So there's There is that element, which gives a Pinterest a lot more trust, but it's also built up over a while. I would say that you should dive into Pinterest and expect a 36 month period for there to be really take off on your Pinterest account. When you look at that time period, is it unreasonable for you or not? I should imagine that most people getting into a creative business or doing it for a long time or hoping to be in it for a long time. And why not? I mean, it is your life. It is your passion, and you're going to be doing it for years to come. So get into it on and stick with it. It's, um look it a bit more at this topic in a slightly more strategic fashion, which I think is gonna pay you off much more in the long run. First of all, you want to learn how to increase leads, have everything work according to your strategy. As we spoke my right from the very beginning, you might want to sell directly even on Pinterest itself or from your blood and website. And keep in mind that it's about the user experience that is paramount happy users and you have a happy business for. Let's consider, let's say you're a blogger on the first thing you want to do as a blogger is increased traffic through to your blogged and have people read what you have this So you want more clicks and an improved Google ranking as well. Basically, your articles need to appear on the first page of Google that is sort of one of the and main attractions for ranking higher on Google. And as we discussed, Pinterest is indexed by Google's major plus of it and, of course, people on your block. You want them to open your articles and block to their Pinterest account. And, of course, more visibility on Pinterest results in your happens, appearing on other people's feeds, even people who aren't following you, Andi, that's going to result in more people coming back to your blogged and website, where you've got options waiting for them. Lead magnets for them to join up with your mailing list. You're also establishing your credibility and expertise in your particular field and all of this bolts trust, which eventually leads to sales. How long? Once again, how long is this all going to to take you and it's gonna be worth the trouble. I can say that, personally speaking, when I put an optimized strategy in place for Pinterest, Um, I would say that with in a matter of months, the upturn in Pinterest traffic at the time seemed almost instantaneous. I had laid some groundwork for it, but let's say, after a month there was an immediate jump in traffic from Pinterest, and it simply has kept growing. Um, so let's say, after a year off constant working at Pinterest, it is now a regular 90% off traffic comes from Pinterest. This is a lot of momentum, and it's only taken to get to that. Momentum has only taken about a year, if not less. Once you put the strategy into effect, you can expect to see results within a couple of months, and then it's simply on keeps snowballing from that point onwards. My opinion. A pretty quick turnaround. What if your retailers selling products and the thing with Pinterest is it is, and ideal product sells environment. A lot of the Pinterest users get on there, too, on research products, and they are looking to research products for one purpose only. And that is to purchase. Maybe not now, maybe later. So encourage your brand development and your visibility. And if you can be creative in how you you illustrate the benefits off your particular items , you can go a long way. Avoid simply having a picture with a price tag saying, Buy this product. Try and be more creative. Look at the benefits. Look at who you selling to and structure images that is going to appeal to that kind on demographic. Remember also that Pinterest uses tend to be or, ah, higher educational level Ah, higher income level. And this is, according to Pinterest own research as well. So you definitely looking at a slightly more affluent market, and those people are looking for quality products. So go for that and especially the benefits off your product. You can consider things like rich pens and however, Richmond's do require a bit of extra at technical knowledge, and you might need the help off a a technical person in the I T department or a IittIe friend to help you out with that. But in essence, Richmond's incorporate the information off the product, including the price directly from your website, and update themselves as well. So they you have to decide and if it's worth it. But if you can get help doing them, then it probably is. A lot of major brands are using Richmond's quite successfully, and it's simply there to shorten the decision making process for a purchase. Of course, in the long run, their retailer is hoping to build the brand awareness as well, leading to market growth on more visits to the website and lead generation. So these are all on overlaps in all of these strategies. There are lots of similarities. If you have a service, for example, like myself, if I'm selling what workshops and art lessons, that's service. So also, I'm looking at brand awareness storytelling. What? What can I show about how I work in my studio work outdoors all different ways off, really telling a story about, um, trying to build brand awareness and expertise. Um, greater visibility on Pinterest once again brings more traffic back to my website. Once again, when people on the website you need to be ready to make certain offers to them. So ideas you can use successfully with Pinterest, um, and generating leads. We've spoken about through giveaways such as books, for instance, but other things as well. Short courses, worksheets to help people. That particular topic quizzes downloadable quizzes, for instance. For Children can be very popular. Downloadable crosswords, you name it. You can offer any of these things samples off you books samples off a course I'm coloring in books for kids or adults on a particular topic of genre. If you're launching a product, maybe you've got some sample videos. Maybe you have an evergreen women or that will constantly be able to get you. Leads and pins related to those things are going to generate a lots of visits and potential leads for you so you can use your imagination competitions as well. Always get a good response. Pinterest also works for affiliates. If you promoting affiliate products, just think about the potential of a four prints related to products or services that you are promoting. Simply important, though, that you do this honestly and that you have tested these products and you give a good information about these products and why there are helpful or useful. Nobody wants to be spammed. Nobody wants to click back to somebody's website and be presented with just a few sound bites or some riel chewing gum. Top article That's unsatisfying. OK, so part of building trust of a long term you're gonna have to do it the right way with Pinterest, or you're not going to get any substantial traction over time. Look at collaborations as well. Maybe having a couple of collaborators on a board or even your account might be a good idea , but, um, I would not get into that lightly in case it doesn't work out for you but maybe trough with a particular board and have a few collaborators as well. A few more focus ideas for you for product sales from your shop front pens to drive traffic to your product, try until a story and, for example, this image a delighted shopper looking at particular products on that tells a story as well . And if you can create a temple of, um, aura or experience or something to tap into the imagination and desires off your audience, then you're going to do very well on Pinterest. If you have a D i Y. Business or anything with that, you can demonstrate knowledge or helpful tools. Helpful hacks for any type of subject on Pinterest is fantastic. People love to find helpful topics on Pinterest. Hard to dress hard to on design your house hard to interior decorate how to cook. How Teoh create remedies for your family. Um, anything remotely helpful that your business does. You can give topics like that on Pinterest demonstrations. Fantastic step by step demonstrations, incredibly popular fashion tips. Well, we know all about that drawn build anticipation as well have the final result waiting for a visit on that, your website. For them to have a look at competitions we've mentioned have trying create something fun, some excitement, a giveaway campaigns for events, particular holidays. Pinterest has it all ready for you now. Ultimately, we want people to trust you and to enjoy their experience with your pins and boards and not to be left disappointed in their visit. You blogged or website. So keep all of these things in mind of Wade Spammy. Cheap looking happens and a poor experience. Make sure your links or working make sure your website is welcoming, trying to avoid sending people back to a blocked page, a website that is jam packed with adverts and flashing lights and all sorts off on things like that, which are very off putting. And ultimately you want a transparent experience that meets what you promise, and all of these things will result in your doing very well. And in the end, if you get these sequences more or less correct, you're going to get people making purchases from your website. So a few other tips to consider is look at other brands on Pinterest that you admire. See what they're doing right, and see if you can be inspired to try anything that is working for them. Experiment. Pick your analytics, follow what works and what doesn't. And it's not about what you are spending. It's not money that you throwing down the drain or a lot of money into promotions. That's about helping or informing or entertaining riel people. So I hope this gives you some inspiration or ah, hopes you make a decision about whether Pinterest is going to help your business. I'm pretty sure that it will.
14. Pinterest Analytics in Action: now a very important part off. Any strategy in your marketing is to build a measure. The results and your Pinterest's business account comes with pretty good analytics, and certainly you can make a lot of decisions based on these analytics. If you want more in dips analytics, you can find them on application like Tailwind. That might give you deeper insights, but let's have a look at what you can get. Remember, you need not only business account, but you're very fired website as well. Once you've done that, then let's have a look in this lesson at the analytics that you can get. How to analyze the key numbers and a few tips and ah, ways you can use this information on this all comes down to If you don't measure the results, you can't fix the problems or you cannot act on opportunities. Now the analytics, as you will see, cover the these four areas general overview, the profile statistics and then the demographics of the people or your audience and then your website, which refers to the amount off, um, pens being happened from your website. So let's have a look at this in practice and I'll show you through the analytics on my account so going to your profile and clicked the analytic tabs at the top and you'll see that drop down off the various items and you can look at an overview, which gives you very basic breakdown. As the name suggests, it is an overview, and you you can see a few things at a glance and ah, top impressions summary in the lost 30 days and what's getting a lot of clicks. So that is, as a suit, an overview. So let's go into some more detail and let's go look at the profile and we'll choose a date range. Let's make it a 30 days. The impressions saves and clicks on an all time at results. At the top, we can have a look at a glance and see top impressions and top boards, pins of top impressions and your top boards as well. And probably the most interesting factor to look at would be clicks, and we want to see what is in fact generating clicks. So the most click pens from the last 30 days have a look at that, and you can see what is working and um also possibly you wanna look at happens that are getting some clicks, but you want to trying to boost them a bit. So look it your things. Obviously you want to see what is working for you and focusing on that. So, um, and a grants. I can see, let's say, easy ways off adding figures to my landscape paintings that has got 14 clicks. And, uh, I need to actually write but more about that and generates a more content and opens. I can also infect reap in this as well. So you will see this and are over. There means it's rich information about that. One is in going through onto Pinterest. That is what the sun looks like. And I think we need to reschedule that so I can go a pure and reschedule that, um, and generate some more recent traffic. That's a fairly old and I can do a bit more. Okay, now, underneath that are the boards with the most clicked pin, so I can see what is trending there as well. And as hope. Former artist Blawg is getting the most clicks in this period, which is one of my aims. Onda that seems to be working. I can also look full. Um, if the other boards that on mine, I can see where, um, perhaps I can get some ideas and create new boards. In general, I must say that it is better to create a new board than to add sections to your boards. Add sections if it is such a minor deviation from your main topic. But if you have something that can be differentiated from a topic, rather create a new board entirely so boast on that one, um, that we looked at just now, adding figures to landscape, perhaps I can create a board, a separate board, four figures in landscape paintings, tips and techniques. Something like that. So these are just ideas. You can make a note off for your own. Okay, then let's have look at people you reach right. There are a few things at the top year to consider. You can check out the performance under different platforms, but it's Web based or I phones and road forints, etcetera and see which devices work better for you. That might give you some ideas as well, about way to find your audience and then There's also Tab your full showing stats for a law audiences and then also just your followers. And you'll notice that all audience gets a lot more reviews and impressions because the smart algorithm or smart feed algorithm, is sharing out your pins, not just to your follows, but to other people who may be interested in your topic. So that's a Pinterest. I'll grow them is doing its job. And so if we scroll down and have a look, you can see countries. Surprisingly, a lot of people in India are via, um, country or Metro's cities, etcetera, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and languages. Quite surprisingly, quite an international audience. If you had all of these up, more or less amounting to the English, Um, uses division between male female, definitely more female. Things like that can help you work out who you're talking to and where they are. And if you're promoting, um, using promoted campaigns, if you decided going to that later on, you can perhaps target iPhone users who are female in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco, so you can get those decisions and fine tune them a bit more. Another thing to look at is the interests Tamp. I prefer you interest that, um, your audience is involved with or interested in. And you may even want to create a few boards to cover those interests. And maybe a board on design might be a good idea. And travel destinations, perhaps for, um, in my case, perhaps international travel destinations for artists that might be a nice sport to create . And boards that have a lot of my pens are confined. People, perhaps who are really fans and are spending a lot of my pens. Um, contact them, make sure follow them etcetera. See what is appealing to a few of your top followers. Other brands that are using, um, that your audience engages with a lot of these are self explanatory and perhaps may help you, perhaps not, um, big, uh, business brands. Well, he can expect most of them to have a lot of followers. But if you drill down here, you may find something more interesting. So I'm seeing other sites here. Autos Network. Perhaps I need to look at them and see what they're up to and maybe get ideas for topics to add content to my site, move on and have a look at website of This relates to activity on my website and I can see what is getting most impressions. What is getting boards that are getting a lot off attention. But the most important in Santa want is clicks. So let's see what is getting visits back to my website from Pinterest and ah, I can see straight off one is generating a lot off clicks. So that is the subject, uh can focus on some more, create new pins or perhaps generate new new content. And I can also see which boards are getting, um, boards with the most clicked pins for the last 30 days. So my blood is up there, my studio that I can also find on boards from other people and where they've saved a lot of my penso. Let my I mean that I need to give get in touch with him, too, when looking at pins that are working well for you organically. Then you want to double down on those topics and create more content and opens and re said'you're Penzias well to keep that traffic working for you. But let's have a look at original pens to see, um, what is generating traffic from my website? So newest prince created from your website and you can see which of these I have recently Bean penned by people can have a look at a few more and the smart inspire me to create once again more traffic. Have a look for old content that is still working for you that's still coming back. Um, and that might be was rescheduling some of those old pens. Now let's go into all time when you're looking at what's worked best. What's pins have been shared the most over time I can see some old Quincas well, from old topics that I have written about, and I can revisit those on best in search problems that rank high in search. This is opens that are doing well based on Pinterest, ERN e Uh um algorithm and I can see what he's standing out were there. And, uh, whatever done right, Have a look at this pins on decide what I need to keep doing in the future. So that is an overview off the analytics that you can find on Pinterest. And, as you can see, quite um, a lot that you can discover and ah with checking out
15. How to Use the Tailwind App: okay, handy application that I've been trying out is called Tailwind. And we're gonna have a quick look that they are other applications that are useful for Pinterest users. But I think tell when has been around for a long time and has certain features that are really appreciate and you can try out I'm several of the others. But I'd recommend taking on a free trial with terra wind and seeing if it is a good fit for you. Now, what is the point of using an application like this? And is it a bad thing for year as a Pinterest user and all people going to get annoyed with you using a service like this? What I find is that tellin doesn't take away the personal on nature off using Pinterest and your ability to curate and make sure you using top quality pens. So that's not the idea. The idea with something like tell and his first of all to remove some of the guesswork in shade giggling Good times too, happened to your boards. They are certain times that you get better engagement and in an international on environment that we work in. Maybe those best times are when you are sleeping on hands. Ah, or some other activities. Or maybe you're at work or wherever, but you can rely on the application to make sure that is shared at the best time. The application also helps you figure out what is your best performing boards, your pens, your engagement for that week, that month and so on. And, yes, Pinterest analytics are useful on they not a really deep dive type off analytics, but they certainly are useful, and we look at them. But application like this, especially if you decide take the paid version is going to give you a lot more information . And the also the beauty of this is at a glance. You can see what's doing well and what has been doing well in the past, and you can repurpose that content. Repin, that one create a new poem to share that content out again, so it lets you work a lot more strategically than simply blindly carrying on and missing the potential that lies in work that you have already done extremely important for you to keep that in mind is maybe haven't least half of your future pens. Actually, being repurposed content that has worked both you in the past. There's a huge Internet Arthur off new people waiting to discover your work, and and this may be the way for you to make sure you don't miss those opportunities. Collaboration and growing your reach. Terra Wind Tribes. I'll be showing you better, but how to find Tribes and Hardy interact with them. But this is a quick way for you to find like minded people. Andi as your motors When I show you the Demmer, you can even great, long lasting collaborations and relationships that are going to help you in your business in the future. So, as I've said, you can start a free trial with Tailwind and give it a spin and see if it's worth your trouble. So let's have a look at what I've been doing with a free on terra wind account, right? I think Tailwind is an excellent application, and the good part is that you can trial it out for free. Let's have a look at a few basic functions. You conduce with the free account, but you're still find it quite a powerful application to use. You can also use it for Instagram and even Changeling now to Facebook pages, but are most interested in the Pinterest function? Obviously, So let's have a quick look around. So once you've opened your trial account you and Le Guin to your dashboard and you'll have a quick, um, overview of what's going on there so we can see some information, you know, really, the last seven days re pins that are happening, followers gained and pens from my website. Now let's have a look at a few things we can do with the free account. So if we're going to shed your old pens, I can see that I have one pin your scheduled to go into my books and publishing, um board. And that is a repin that I'm using from one of the followers on a tribe account. So every year you can see the should your options. Now these are optimized times, a different days that I can should you opens and as a mention. As you can see, this is on a free trial, and if I upgrade them, I can should your more into the future as well. There is also a chrome extension you can add to the chrome browser, which lets you shed your pins from websites that you're visiting. So let's have a look at published pens. And this, as the name describes, just gives him a list off pins that have been published recently. And you can also get some basic statistics on those pens. Um, reap un's most especially. So Here's one, for instance, 101 re pins. If you see one that's performing well, maybe you want to have a closer look and decide that you're going to reap in. Okay, so here's the particular pin on Pinterest, and I can see other pins that all related to this. So maybe that gives me some ideas as well. And you can also fiddle inside off Pinterest straight to Tailwind. So if I click on that, then I get the, um, should jewel function, and I can pin it to particular board another border for want, add it to the Q on Tailwind, and over here I can add it to whatever tribes belong to. Let's have a quick look at that, then, so let's select another board, add it to a tribe. So business blogging that might be just the right place to put this added to the tribe, and they we have it. No. So over a year will. Should you all that on their concede it's being scheduled and that will go off on Thursday ? Okay, uh, a closer look at the schedule on a weekly putting schedule that is set up for you. You can customize it. Add more dates and times available time slots. All right, so you can see that tell when is making a suggestion off another good time slot to add. So there are added another time slot for Tuesday's. This is what tell Wind refers to as smart scheduling. They've added optimize time sluts, and you can use those and expect to have more engagement at those time slots. And I think the important thing to also remember is not to try an over burden your feed with new pins. Andi, you'll see you that it's fairly staggered art. There's not too many time slots. Um, possibly the ideal number Maximum for any particular is five, but so I know something is are happy to go up to £20 but I find that it is the 1st 5 of the top five that do the best now. One thing I do want to show you as well is the tribes, um, option on tell wind. Find tribes very important. The tribes are basically groups off like minded people on Pinterest, and you can look for a tribe that is suitable for you. That is, within your genre. Let's have a look at find a tribe and various categories. You can look up as well. Certainly it's, for example, look for art and years. Our number off tribes things you be looking for is number of members and the activity you want to be in a tribe that is active on and although some, maybe, is just starting out. But just to get started, try and find an active tribe and you can scroll down within your particular interest. So here we have author taps, three sources and advice and quite a few members year, but a lot of activity. So this might indicate that you can expect to have your pins re pond and quite quickly by these tribe members. The basic principle is on a plane for a pin. So have you submitting a pin to a tribe, then you must also reciprocate and at least on stage or somebody else is putting from that tribe. So let's have a quick preview at this tribe and see what's happening. You'll get shown a few off the more recent ones. And yeah, you can see things that are happening now. Important things to look out for is over a year. These numbers indicate that depends are getting a lot off attention, and that's a good thing. So if you enter books and authoring, that might be a good trump for you. Now let's have a look at a few tribes that I've joined up. So let's have a look at art education, and I teach art with YouTube That's be inferred once already. And here you can see members off the travel ready on, and you can interact with these tribe members as well. Um, checked with him and maybe on developed some top off business relationship. Maybe a guest blogging, whatever it is. If you see somebody that really does seem to meet a common interest with you, you can contact them that way, and that's potentially very useful collaboration. So there we have it and tellin has lots of X and options, and with trying out
