about having fun, experimenting, and discovering
your own style as you go. So grab your favorite
drawing tools, and let's get
started dressing up your shibby cats with
creativity and charm. I will see you in
the first lesson.
2. Resources & References: Hello, and welcome. Before we start drawing, I just want to give
you a few templates and reference for you to
use through this class. First, I have this hibiquet
for you to download, both colored or just Line art in case you want to
add your own colors. Then for each accessory draw, I made a reference board with different images to
serve as inspirations, and I hope that helps. So don't forget to download this so you can use
them through the class. All right, this is it for now. I'll see you in the next video where we'll draw
some bows and ties.
3. Drawing Bows & Ties!: Alright, so welcome back. We're going to start
drawing our accessories, and we're starting
with bows and ties. So we have here our references. You don't need to draw
all of these, choose one, and then you can dt
to your hivykat. So the first thing
we're going to do here is look at
your references and check out the main shapes
both for the tie and the bow. Because if you look
at them, you'll see you'll notice that they'll
have shapes in common. So for the bows, what
we see most is we have, sorry, let me add a
new layer on top. So we can draw some shapes. So you'll see that there's this rectangular
or squared shape. Here, it's a bit different, but still see if I do
this, it's a rectangle. Even though it's not there, we have a rectangle.
Same thing here. And then for the bow,
for the rest of the bow, we have some triangular
shapes like this. Now, obviously, I'm
ignoring details here because we do
see here some folds, but we just want to
see the main shape. So triangles and squares, right? Even though this last bow
has a squarish shape, you can still see a bit
of a triangle there. And then we do have here this little bit
extra at the end. For the ties, we also have
here some shapes in common, such these ones and the
main area of the tie. Something like this. Here the
shape is a bit different, but they both
resemble each other. And as for the tie itself, we have you can even divide
this into two shapes. So we have a rectangle and
then a triangle at the bottom. So triangle at the bottom, and let's say trapezium shape. So shape like this and
a triangle, right? So we can always find
these similar shapes, even though there
are different styles of bows and of ties, but the shapes are
always almost the same. We just need to adapt them according to the
style we like best. Now that we know this, now that we know their main shapes, we can go in into our head
and draw the bow or the ties. So I'm going to draw a bow and then I'm also
going to draw a tie. So you have both examples. But you can choose
whichever you want. And not only that, but even though I gave
you these references, don't forget to download them. But if you want, you can also look for your own references. You're free to do that. I
want to draw this one here. I like it style, and that's
what I'm going to do. So I add a new layer on top, and now I want to
be able to see it, so I'm moving here to the side, and I'm going to go in
and start drawing my bow. One thing you can do, like, the head is a bit tilted, right? But what we can do is
we can draw our bow, something like this,
shapes for now. And now we have here the ends. I'm just looking for
the general look and shape of the bow. I don't want to make
an exact copy there. But there we go,
these are the shapes. Now I'm going to
add some opacity. A new layer on top. I'm also going to
pick a darker tone here and I'm going to
add a bit more details. So now we want to
add some folds. This is still a sketch, so it
doesn't need to be perfect, but now we can add some
more details to our bow. Not a lot because we are
drawing a shivy cat right, and hives can be very simple. It always depends on your style, but they can be quite simple. Alright, so my sketch is done. Now, all I have to
do is some line art. So I'm going to pick my brush. I'm using the G pen
on Clip Studio Paint, but feel free to use whichever you're more
comfortable with. And remember that you can
also do this traditionally, so with a pen paper, a pencil, whichever
medium you want. So now since I don't really
need my reference anymore, I have my sketch. I know what I want
my bow to look like. I can just go in
and draw my lines. Doing this very quickly, but feel free to spend as
much as you need, right? You don't need to be this quick. I'm being fast with this mostly because you don't need to
see me perfecting a drawing. You just want to see the
process and the final look. Right, so now that I drew
my bow, as you can see, I drew it like whichever but now one thing
I can do is go in, transform and scale in Hott. What it means now I can move it around to a place
where I like best. For example, here, I think it looks great
here. All right. So now I will erase these lines here because we
don't need them anymore, and there it is, our bow. Now there are different places where you can position this bow. For example, it can be it can stay in there, below the chin, a decorative color, or we
can place it someplace else. For example, let's see here. I can move the bow to the tail. Again, we might need to
change things a little bit, rotate and scale
them perhaps a bit. We can put it at the
end of the tail. Or at the top of the
tail that also can work. So yeah, this is all up to you. And finally, another
place you can put the bow is on the head. Perhaps here at the center, maybe here near the year, something like
that. I like that. So yeah, these are
just some places. Be creative with it and just choose the design of your
bow, what you like best. There are so many
patterns that you can do, so have fun with that. Now, I want to also
draw the tie, right? So once again, I'm
going to go over here. And draw these shapes. So we got something like this, then the trapezium
shape and a triangle. Now, since the tie doesn't
have many more details, I'm going to go in and draw
the final version right away. The only thing I'm doing, as you can see is I'm adding a bit more roundness
to my shapes, but that's it. Now, of course, we can
go right here and let a pattern some
stripes. There we go. And now, once again, like we did previously, we can move it to another place. So let's go to us
R transform again, scale and Hott, make
it a bit smaller, and now we could place it
here perhaps right here, can make it smaller or
bigger or even shorter. There we go. And now, all we have to do is erase the parts we
don't need anymore. Let's see here all our
versions together. Alright, so there we have it our bow and our tie
in different places. So, yeah, you can be creative,
especially with the bow. You can place the bow in
different places in the year, center of the head, on the neck, on the tip of the tail,
at the base of the tail. It's all up to you and you
can be creative with this. So I'm not going to color
it this time around, but I will give you a funnel and colored version so
you can see it. But yeah, this is it
for bows and ties. And there's also a grid template for your assignment where the idea or the
goal is for you to add one drawing of each
category in there. So if you want,
you can also once you draw your bow or
your tie on your cibcet, don't forget to add
that to that grid. So this is it for this video, and I will see you
in the next one.
4. Adorable Hats On Cats: Alright, so hello and
welcome once again. Now, in this video,
what we're going to practice is drawing a
hat on our hey cat. So once again, here's
our Heffron board. There are a few
different types of hats that you can draw. Some are more winter themed, others are more summer themed, or even a classier style here. So it's totally up to
you what you want to do. First thing I'm
going to do is lower the opacity of my
references and draw some shapes on top of so we can start understanding how we
could draw them in our cat. So first one, we
have here kind of a square shape right with
some curves here and there. And then we got this oval shape. And if you don't want
to forget about it, there's also this
band right here. So very simple shapes. The good thing about
shiv is that it can be very, very simple. And sometimes the simpler it
is the cutest it will look. Now, for a cap, we have, again, a round shape like this. And then we got our
cap, just two shapes. Let's go for the next
one, a summer heat. So almost like a
trapezium shape, and then we have an
ellipse going around. So as you can see, I'm
being very loose with this. I just want to figure
out the shape so I can repeat them why I'm
drawing them on my cat. Let's see this one. So this is all
about circles here. Let's add here this line so we don't forget there's a
difference of texture there, and then we have
the pump on on top. Now, this one might be the most complex because there are
a lot of perspective here. But once again, if we
focus on shapes here, we can do it. There we go. This can almost be
like a triangle, as you can see,
but very rounded. All right, so these
are our shapes. Now, I'm really feeling
the top hat here, and I think that's what I'm
going to draw for my cat. So I'm going to
make another layer, pick up my pencil brush. And once again, I'm not going to start drawing in
here right away. I think that sometimes with these kind of designs
that are very simple, it's easier for us to especially if you're
doing this digitally, of course, but to
draw it to the side. And speaking of which even if you're doing
this traditionally, I would recommend you to first practice these shapes
bits on your sketchbook, and once you feel like
you got the hang of it, you can draw the final
version on your cat. You don't even have to fill a whole page if you
don't want to but maybe half a page or three or four sketches until
you get the hang of it, and then you can draw
where you want it to go. If you look at it,
I think it will look quite well as it is, but I want to try some places,
some different places. So let's go. Scale and rotate. So one option for me is putting the head here on this ear. I think it would look fun. Now, of course, we can just put it on the center
of the head like this or go to the other
side and add it here. Can even make it smaller
Yeah, I like it. This is it. This is
what we're doing. So I think these shapes are
very simple and I feel like I don't need another sketch because the lines are
going to be the same. So I can just go in and
draw my final line art. So I'm going to lower
the opacity here, add a new layer on top, grab my brush, and we're ready. Now, I just need to erase what we don't need. There we go. And let's erase from our original drawing these
lines that we don't see. They are not visible anymore, so we can erase them.
And there we go. I think our cat
looks really dapper. Look at him. So yeah, once again, it's all
about exploration. Try out the heats in
different places. You can draw three, four, five shibbycats with
hats in different places. You can even try different
hadstyles and just have fun. The whole purpose here
is for you to have fun. And don't forget to download
the reference board, and then you can go into your, your grid template, and
add a Shibycat with a hat. So this is it for this video. Have fun, and I will see
you in the next one.
5. Drawing Pouches & Bags: Hello, and welcome
again. So here we are. This is our third accessory
that we're drawing, and this time, it's all
about pouches and bags. So again, here's our
reference board. Don't forget to download it. I'm going to first
lower the opacity here, and now let's find
out our shapes. As you can see, we have
very similar shapes. Here, it's mostly
squared shapes, bags and pouches generally
have this squared shape right. There are a few
exceptions, of course, but usually those are the shapes that
you'll find the most. So for example,
let's go in here, and first we have this shape, right, and then the
main squared shape for the rest of the bag. And of course, we can also
add this bit right here. Let's not forget that we
do have a handle there. Okay, next one, this is an interesting one because
of all the fringe, but you can see behind it that we have
this shape right here. I like to be very simple and leave my shiv
drawings very simple, so I omit most of the details. But if you want, you can
have more complex drawings. It's all up to you if you want more or less details.
Alright, next one. So once again, we
have this a shape, the squared shape,
and we can add this bit of a pattern here
so we don't forget about it. And, of course, we
get here the handle. It's not a handle, I think, but I can't remember of
a better word right now. But, you know, the
string, not a string. Well, you know, next one Again, this squared shape with
curve with a curved bottom. And now, of course, we can also add here this
part and the circle. Now, this one, I
really like this one. As you can see, we have a bit
of a different format here, but very simple, it's a
circle, and that's it. It's a fun one,
different formats, and I'm sure you can find even more creative bags
and pouches out there. Maybe you even have your own. So that's also an
option if you want. You can draw your own bags
and accessories in general. Let's say you have an accessory
that you really like, then you can use that as inspiration to draw
on your Chibi cat. So yeah, we have here
our main shapes, right, our main designs of each bag, and now we'll choose one
and add it to our cat. I'm not sure yet which
one I'll choose. I really like this round one, so I might go with that one, although this one is also fun, and the question we
have here mostly is where or how will we
draw our bag, right? So let's start out. So let's say I'm
drawing this one. This time around,
I'm going to right away draw it where
it's going to be. If you remember in
the previous videos, I drew the accessory
outside of my cat, and then I moved it and scaled it and rotated until I was happy
with the positioning. This time with the bag, since it acts differently
depending on where you have it, I am drawing it here. So maybe like this, perhaps. Well, let's try another way. For example, let's say it comes here and then we will
have our pouch here. That could work as well. Although I don't
think it's as fun, let's try something else. So as you can see, it's
all about exploration. And I know that doing that
exploration phase can be a bit more difficult with
traditional medium, with a pencil or whatever. But the good thing is that
you can repeat your drawings, and in that way,
you are practicing. You get more practice you draw several
versions of your cat. Does this make sense?
No. This could work. So it would go around here. Well, more or less, how
do you feel about this? Perhaps perhaps this
could be possible. But still, I'm not too happy. So I might do the other idea, which was moving the pouch here, maybe a bit smaller. We do it this way. That means it will go
this way and this way. So yeah, I think
that's what I prefer. But I can explore
different things. Maybe you can even reimagine how the string or
the handle works. That could be fun, adapted
to the body of a cat. We're already drawing something that's not really
reality, right? So we can take this opportunity to be
more creative with it. So yeah, I added a
new layer on top, lower the opacity
of my original. Sketch, and now I'm going to finish the bag, something
like this, right? Now, I don't really like
the chain look there, so I'm going to draw a bend
like handle like this. And that's something
else you can do. Mix and match
different references. If you like the elements
of one reference, but prefer other elements
of some other reference, then mix and match them, make a mix of both, and then
you create something new. But there it is our
cat with a bag. It's cute. I wonder what they carry inside of it.
But yeah, this is it. Don't forget to download
the reference board, and once you're done
with your drawings, add it to your third square
on the grid template. So yeah, have fun,
take your time, and I will see you
in the next video.
6. Cool Glasses!: Alright. Hello,
and welcome back. This is our last drawing video, and the last thing
we're going to draw is sunglasses or glasses. So once again, I have
here our references, don't forget to download
them or find your own if you prefer
something else. Yeah, the first thing we're
going to do is some shapes. So when drawing sunglasses in a chevy character like this, I usually only focus
on the lens area, the part that is on our face. So again, it's all
about ignoring some details and focusing
on what's important. So we have this right here with this almost like
wing shape, right, kind of two triangles, and I'm going to add
here the lens itself, so we don't forget
the proportion. It's very messy,
but that's fine. Then we have these sunglasses, very fun, heart shaped. The thing about
sunglasses is that the shapes are
usually very simple, and both sides are the same. So heart sunglasses. Now we have here these that
are more round lenses, very thin and metallic. And most of the times
you also find that the shapes for sunglasses are all more or
less the same way, always kind of roundish, Sam are more squared
than others, but they always have
a similar design. Of course, if you want
something more creative, I'm sure you'll find it as well. Or you can just
make up your own. So in general, these
are very simple shapes. Now, as for positioning
our glasses, of course, the most obvious place would be on the eyes of
our hi cat, right? So let's see. I'm going to draw
these round ones since they are the simplest
ones to draw. So we can do
something like this. Not only, for example, if we really follow
the proportions there, we can do something like this. We can also play with the size, or we can add our glasses or sunglasses
to the top of the head. That can also be fun, right? So which ones are we drawing? Let's draw these ones that
are very summary like. So they are a bit
squarish, right. Now one thing you can do in this case when drawing
sunglasses is that you can use the
symmetry functions of your drawing software. Lens, and I think we're ready. You don't need to
spend a whole lot of time with your sketch, okay? I know we always want
everything to look very perfect and all of that, but it's okay to be messy. So even if you don't have a symmetry option on
your drawing software, there's something
else you can do. I'm going to show you.
I'm only going to draw one side of my sunglasses. Alright. Let me just
fill this area here. Now we can do if you're
doing this digitally, of course, we can
duplicate our layer. And then we can transform
here, use this option, and then use the flip option and then use the rotate
option here and there, move things until they match. Now, press Enter. We can go right here
and choose this option, merge with layer below. It might have a different name
on other drawing software, but it will be similar. And there we go. We
have our sunglasses. Now that we drew them, we can maybe scale them a little bit. If we feel that
fits better, yes, I feel it fits better or
character, and there we go. So yeah, if you're
doing this digitally, although I do recommend
you draw the whole thing, as time goes by and you
feel more confident, you can use these
kinds of tools. So this way, your
work is a bit faster. Yeah, this is it or sunglasses. My hibiqat is ready to
enjoy a day in the sun. Don't forget to download
the reference board, and don't forget to complete
the grid template with our last accessory with your hibiqat wearing some
sunglasses or reading glasses, and I will see you
in the next video.
7. Assignment - Practice Time!: Hello again. As I've
mentioned before, I prepared a grid so you
can add your drawings. For each accessory
we went through. Your assignment is
to download it, fill it, and then if you want, post it and share it with me. I always love to see your
projects and drawings. Have fun with your Shibby cats, and I'll see you
in the next video.
8. Conclusion - Before You Go!: Well, hello again, artist. Congratulations on
finishing the class and creating your own collection
of Shibby cat accessories. I hope you had as
much fun drawing and experimenting as I
did guiding you. Every bow, hat, pouch, and pair of glasses you drew is a step towards developing
your unique style. Don't be afraid to keep mixing, matching, and inventing
your own accessories. There are no limits here. Thank you so much for joining me on this creative adventure. If you enjoy the class, I'd love to hear your
thoughts in the review. It helps me a lot and inspires other artists
to join in the fun. I can't wait to see your
adorable Chevy cat design, so please share your
work if you'd like, until next time and
keep on drawing.
