About This Class

Fact: today virtually anybody who has a business needs a website. It doesn't matter if you have a big business or a small business. Websites have become a must have for every business.

The good news is that it has become easier than ever to create websites. And cheaper than ever too!

In this course we are going to build your very own website with Canva! You'll see how easy it is to come up with a simple website or landing page that helps you promote your business or that new project you are working on. 

This class is for everybody who needs a website right now!

You won't spend any money on hosting, on buying themes, on subscriptions to website builders, none of that... we'll do it all with Canva!

Anybody can do it. 

I, Ronny, will be your host for this course.

A bit about me if you don't know me:

I work at Canva as the Head of Communities and have been creating courses about Canva for over 2 years now. I run 4 Facebook groups for Canva + my own community together with Diana. All of these are, of course, about Canva and how to become a better designer with Canva.

The objective of this class is to show you that, with Canva, EVERYBODY can now create a website in a matter of hours. 

We'll use a very concrete example of a project we needed to promote - The RonDi Bootcamp - and show you step by step how we used Canva to build a website that was perfectly fine for this job.

  1. Ronny will start by helping you organize your website project
    I'll go over some of the important decision you'll need to make at the beginning of your website project and we'll decide on the different pages that need to be created.

  2. We'll start designing the homepage of your site
    We will spend some times designing the first page people will see when they land on your Canva website.

  3. We will continue with the core of you website: your offer
    This section of the course is the actual designing of the pages that constitute your offer, or the details of the project you are trying to promote with your website

  4. Designing your Call to Action
    Of course the last section of your site should tell people exactly what to do to subscribe to your offer, buy your product or service, or take that one specific action that you want them to take.
  5. Exporting your Website and Testing it
    That will be the last part of this class: I'll show you how to publish your website online and we'll explore how it looks both on mobile and on desktop.

1. Let's Create Fun Websites with Canva: Hi everyone. This is Ronny and in this course, I'm going to show you step-by-step how to create simple landing pages with Canva. First of all, let me welcome you to our house. This is where Diana and I live in Sydney and I would like to sincerely welcome you inside our living room. Today in this course, I'm going to show you how to use Canva to create simple landing pages for all projects. You will see that it's an easy way to come up with a quick and simple landing page or even mini website for promoting a course that you are working on, a bootcamp in our example, or any commercial projects or even non-commercial project. Who is this course for? Mostly for anyone who needs a website, but doesn't necessarily have all the skills to create a website or maybe doesn't have the money to create a website, or even doesn't have the time to create a website. Because you will see that with Canva you can come up with very simple and beautiful websites in no time, a couple of hours. I'm going to run you through a particular project, which is this website that you see here that has been created for promoting the RonDi Bootcamp, which is our bootcamp with Diana, 10 courses about Canva in two months. This website that you just saw is being created with Canva in about two hours. I'm going to run you through all of the steps that have taken to create this website. I'll show you exactly how to do it to recreate this one particular website but of course, you can apply this to your own business. The very first time I used Canva to create a landing page or website was to actually play around with the functionality. When Canva 2.0 was released about a year ago, they had this export as a website functionality, so it was a new thing in Canva. So I immediately jumped on that feature and tried it out. I tried creating websites for promoting an event. I tried creating website to even promote the courses that I was selling on Udemy and on Skillshare. This was my first experience and since then I have created a good half a dozen websites and landing pages with Canva. All of them have been a lot of fun and they are super easy to create basically just like you are creating any design with Canva. In the first lecture, we are going to go over the basic structuring of your website. How many pages do you need? How many sections of your website are going to be useful for your projects? We're going to take care of all this, but also choose whether we are creating a website which is optimized for mobile or for desktop experience. Then in the following lectures we are going to dive into the actual designing of the different sections of your website to achieve the full landing page, the full website. We're going to go about the homepage, but also the page that announces your offer then the actual program of the RonDi Bootcamp, because this website is going to be about promoting our bootcamp. Then the final page, which will be a page with a call to action and actual clickable buttons on your landing page. If this is something you're looking forward to learn with us today, I invite you to jump to the next lecture. 2. Setting Up your Website: Hi guys, welcome to lecture 1 of this course about creating landing pages, we are going to get started. As you can see, I already have a document here with the Rondi Boot Camp. It's already created, the landing pages already here, you have seen it in the introduction so I'm going to go back to my homepage here in Canva, and I'm going to create a new document and recreate this entire website from scratch. During this course we are going to be recreating this exact same landing page from scratch so you can follow step-by-step how I made it. Let's go, this first lecture is going to be about setting up your project. Whenever you start a landing page or a mini website project with Canva, you always have to figure out the structure of that website. First, you will need to make an important decision because unfortunately Canva doesn't have yet this full responsiveness when it comes to website, that means if you create a website with the presentation format it will look great on desktop and income on computers, on your laptop, but it might not look good or not so good on a mobile phone because it will not adapt the size of the screen. This is what we call in website terms and terminology responsiveness it will not modify the aspect ratio of your screen to fit a smaller screen or a mobile screen. This is a known issue at Canva, we know exactly that this is going on and our engineers really want to improve the website functionality and I know for a fact that this is a priority at Canva, but for the time being it is not yet possible to have fully responsive website. You will have to choose and make an important decision at the beginning of this project between, do we want to create this website for a mobile use like mobile optimized or do we want to create it for a desktop experience? In my case, because I want to create together with Diana's this boot camp, we want to optimize this for the mobile experience because we know a lot of you are going to stumble across our social media posts, our social media announcement for this boot camp from their mobile phones. For this, the first thing we need to do is to select the right doctypes so we could go with an Instagram story, the 1080 by 1920 aspect ratio. But because Canva has some nice templates that are mobile first presentation and I know I'm aware of that we are going to use this doctype. We're going to click on the mobile first presentation right here, so Canva is going to open this blank Canvas and the reason why I wanted this doctype over the Instagram story doctype is that you see here on the template button different kinds of really nice templates, and you see these templates 22 slides, 18 Slide 16 slides, 16, etc. These are mobile first presentation so if I click on one, you see we have a series of different slides, so this is going to be very useful for designing our mobile optimized website. The first thing we need to do is to understand the structure of our project, in our case with Diana, we want to promote the Rondi boot camp. We want to announce what it is, we want to show the program of this boot camp and we want to tell people how they could get in, like how can you register for the boot camp. These are the three main section, the first one is like a book cover if you wish, like the first page of the website announcing the title of the boot camp and the subtitle like the tagline, what it is the boot came about. Together with some strong visual represents our brand. Second part will be the content of the boot camp so to the program and then finally how to get inside these boot camps. Now that we have these fundamentals down, we can start taking care of the actual design. For doing this, I encourage you to really dive into these templates, you'll see they are very interesting. These are the mobile first presentations, these are certain doctypes in Canva and they look very nice. In our example for the Rondi Boot Camp, I have been using this particular template, the one that says your company name, and that looks purple and red here. If we click on it, you see that what I have been doing, this is the first page where I need to put the title, etc. I click on this and we have this and then of course I will tweak later but this is just the setting up of our projects. Next, what I had is a page similar to this one with different blocks that will represent my different courses that are part of the website and this, I'm going to duplicate it three times because we will have 10 courses in these boot camps so 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4 that's 12, but we will take care of that later. Then finally, we have a final page where we let people know how and where they can register for the boot camp so this will be a page which will use some element of this last slide I just added. But for you, it's really up to you and up to what your project is all about. What is the purpose of creating this landing page, of course so you will have to find the right template and if you decide to go for a website or landing page which is optimized for a desktop experience, you will have to choose a different type of document. Let me save this, I'm going to give it a name so this is the Rondi boot camp page creation. Let's call it like this, it's saved. I'm going to go back to the Canva homepage to show you very quickly how you should start this exact same project if you opt for the desktop optimized version of your landing page. Instead of choosing the mobile presentation, you will choose another doctype, which is the presentation doctype so for this you can simply use the carousel right here and find presentation, or of course, you can simply go to your homepage and type in presentation like this and you can start a blank presentation. What I wanted to show you is that similarly the template page right here will show you a bunch of different templates that you can use. For example, you could create like, let's see this creative presentation right here, it has 15 slides. If you click on it, you could use this instead of what I was showing you as your structure, as your base. That's it for lecture 1, we have set up our fundamentals, I would say our structure for the landing page. In the next lecture, I'm going to start designing and we are going to create every pages, the three sections of our landing page, I'll see you there. 3. Designing your Website (Homepage): Guys, welcome to Lecture 2 of this course where we are going to start designing our landing page. We'll go from this, what you see here, the different pages, which is basically the structure we have laid down to this, so the actual RonDi Boot Camp mini website that I have created yesterday. We are in the process of recreating this learning page to show you step-by-step how it was done. We are going to click on our project that we had started and you will see, let me close this tab, that this is where we left it, okay, in the previous lecture. Now, we are going to start filling up the information with the correct title, the correct subtitle, but also to tweak this document so that it looks like our company color, our brand colors. In my case, I have here, if you click on the color button here in Canva, I have created a brand kits together with Diana for this specific project, we call it team RonDi and we have developed a visual identity for team RonDi. We have a brand kit with colors, primary colors, but also secondary colors and we also have set our typography for the team RonDis. You see the brand fonts, piece sans, then built titling bold italic, and Montserrat. These three fonts are part of our visual identity, I would say for this project that we call team RonDi, so the project between Diana and I. Canva allows you to upload your color palette and to upload your font or to create a little typography kit so that you have your headings, subheading and buddy, if you do have Canva pro. If you don't have Canva pro, you won't be able to customize these elements of your visual identity, but you can simply create a quick brand style guide exported as a PDF, keep that with you or you can print it out so you remember, or you can just remember simply what typography you're using, what fonts you are using, and the colors that you're using. But it's always good if you have Canva pro, I strongly recommend you create your brand kit so you will save some time while using your colors and fonts basically. For me, let's go, we are going to start tweaking these templates that we have been importing from the mobile first presentations with our colors. I want this to be using our pink color, this button will be using a blue color. I'll stick around with these three main dominant colors, I would say. Because this is the colors that we want to really showcase with our brand, so I'm going to focus on the main colors, the dominant colors and I'm going to ungroup all the elements on this page. I'm going to get rid of this one and this one is going to be using my font right here, which is peace sans, which is part of my brand identity. I'm going to be calling this the Rondi Boot Camp. This Rondi Boot Camp and this second line right here, going to open my already finished website to make sure I'm using the exact same sentences, keep calm and learn Canva. I'm going to insert that, keep calm and learn Canva. Of course, I'm going to customize this so it's actually using one of my brand fonts, Montserrat and it's going to be all caps, and it's going to be bigger as well. This is 42, so 42, like this, and I'm going to reduce the box so it's approximately the same size of the other texts right here. The next thing I'm going to do is to reduce slightly the spacing between these different words right here because it's too much spread away one line from another. I'm going to use the "Spacing" button right here and reduce this to just one, perfect. This one looks fine. Then I'm going to copy this, duplicate this little text box right here, and change the text to simply that. I can make this slightly smaller like this and we will make it black so using my black here, which is not completely black. But I'm going to be using this because it's part of my brand kit. We're going to put it here and this, I believe was yellow, so I'll make it yellow. This, we are going to bring it to same black. This is what we have. Let's make sure we customize this as well, the font here. Every font that we are going to be using in our document needs to be one of the fonts that are part of our visual identity. This is super important if we want to keep and maintain that consistency in our brand. We need everything that we put in there to be absolutely on brand. You will be noticing on our Boot Camp landing page that we use a lot of bitmojis. We have Diana and we have me just like different bitmojis. Where did we get these bitmojis, these emojis of ourselves? Well, there is a new functionality in Canva, which is an app that you can connect and you will find it by clicking on the three dots right here. It's the bitmoji add right here, so you can add bitmoji avatars to your designs if you connect this to your Canva. It's not connected to this one particular Canva account that I'm using for this tutorial, but it is connected to my main account. I suggest you connect it to your account and you start designing your bitmoji. We have an entire course about this in the Boot Camp, I believe it is the course number two. You can refer to that to fully understand how to do that. But once you have connected your bitmoji with your Canva, you can start using your bitmojis. For me, in this particular case, it's a little bit different because I'm using not only my bitmojis, but also Diana's bitmojis. I had to upload her bitmojis into Canva so I have access to them. The way I'm going to be using them, I'm going to create another page here and delete everything on it. I will click on Diana's bitmojis here, which is basically a folder that I have created with her photos. But what you could do as well, you can simply import the different bitmojis that you need. But in your case, what I imagine is that you won't have to get somebody else's bitmoji, you can simply use yours and for that, just click on the three little dots right here, go to "Bitmoji" and all your bitmojis will be there. But in my case, because I'm also using Diana's, I had to find a workaround this. The first one is the one where we jump out of the paper just like we are piercing through the paper. I believe this one was somewhere here. Let me see. This is basically all the bitmojis. Yes, it's this one, so I'm going to get rid of the other ones. I'm sorry about this workaround, but this is the only option I had if I wanted to use two people bitmoji. Same with mine, going to be clicking here and finding this bitmoji and should be here somewhere. Oh no, we deleted Diana, so I have to go back and I have to add another page. This is a little bit of a workaround the system. Is this the right one? Probably. Yes, I'm here. I can see it here. What I'm going to do, put it on this page, get rid of the rest of these like this and I can keep this page for later. But basically, I want to grab these two bitmojis, which I'm going to reduce the size a little bit. Put it on my main page here and make sure they are correctly centered and in the safe zone, so something like this looks pretty good. Me, I'm slightly bigger than the Diana, so I can slightly tweak this and I'm going to rotate them a little bit for more impact. This looks pretty nice. If I go back to my main page right here, it looks pretty similar. Yes. I would say I have my first page down. We are going to be moving around to page number two and you know what guys, I realized that I forgot in the first lecture of this course to add an important section to our structure right here. If we look at the original document it is this page right here, which is a page that explains what the bootcamp is all about. I forgot to add this to our structure and I went straight to the different course and the bootcamp program, which is the next section. I will have to correct that and show you where I found this inspiration. I'm going to duplicate this page right here. Get rid of that content and I'm sorry about that. Going back to my templates. Finding the same set, which was this one and yes. This is the page that I have been using for this section right here. Sorry about that. But it's okay. I'm taking you along with me in the process of learning how to do it and it's not always a straightforward process. There is a little bit of back and forth, but it's also interesting for you to see my design process and design work flow. Of course, we are going to take care of this page. That's the next page we need to focus on. This page. If I remember correctly, this part here was yellow and this part here was the blue color. This blue color, of course, we don't use this illustration, and we also use this little circle right here, but in a different way. We will ungroup, not keep the little symbol inside of it, but we'll do something like that. The circle needs to be using one of our colors and this also needs to be one of our fonts. You see here the advantages of having your brand kits directly inside Canva because you basically work faster. You don't have to go to your phones typing for Peace Sans or whatever font you're using and same for the color right here. You can simply click on the color button and use one of the preset color here. Otherwise, you would have to go to new color and type in the Hex code of your color. Having a brand kit is worthwhile because it's helping you save time basically. The title of this page was The Rondi Bootcamp, this is 72 with a spacing of one. For the purpose of going faster, I'm just going to copy this and paste it here. Rondi Bootcamp, 72 with a spacing of one. We have our title right here, and I believe I added here a little rocket going up because this is what you will be doing if you follow this bootcamp, you will catapult your business to another dimension. Let's go and find an element which is a Rocket Icon. This is how I search for it, Rocket Icon and I believe I used this one which is a paid element. You don't have to use paid elements if you don't want to pay for them. Of course, Canva has a lot of nice free stuff. But for me, this is the one that I believe was most representative and that the one that I wanted to use and since I have some Canva credit here that I need to use, I'm going to be using this one with the white color. If you want to make sure this is perfectly centered, you can zoom in. You can always Zoom in to work on details. This looks pretty good. I'm going to go back to my 25 percent. Here again, I had different texts. I'm just simply going to copy my texts. This is where you of course will have to add your own text. So reason number one, reason number two. Also I'm going to use the same property. 58 and a spacing of 1.2 and this was all caps and the color was my black here, and the font of course, is Peace Sans. One little trick right here that we can do is you select that box, you use the copy style button and you click on the other text right here. It copies the attribute of this specific line of text. This is pretty cool and I believe this text was also aligned on the other side. Similarly, I'm going to be copying my copy here. It's always good, of course, to have your copy ready when you design with Canva so you don't have to spend too much time creating your texts on the fly, but it's already prepared in advance. This is my text and it is 35, Montserrat, spacing of 1.4. I'm going to be 35, Montserrat, a spacing of 1.4. It's of course black. Oops, not bold, black, like this. This is looking good. Same. Similarly, I will use the copy style button, making sure I've selected the right textbooks. Use the copy style button and Copy the style. Ten Canva courses in 60 days. You can type that in quickly. In 60 Days. Like this and I'm going to grab this last bit of text right here to copy here. Align that similar to this title to the right. Now we have the structure of the second page. All I need to do is to add my two visuals right here and these were also bitmojis. Let me show you. Yeah, these were these two bitmojis and I tweaked them with the Canva logo in the eyes. So let's do that. Let's reproduce this. I had to find my bitmojis first. So I need an extra page. But if you do have the App connected, you can simply go to your three little dots right here Morm and click on Bitmoji. Here because I'm using this in a little bit of a special way. I will have to find them and I believe they are here. The one I'm looking for. There we go and get rid of these. Diana's. I'm okay. She must be here. There we go. Bring it here on the main page and I will get rid of this one. I believe we can reduce the size of these two slightly and I will make sure they are okay. I'm going to zoom in to be more precise. I want them, you see the shoulders to be where the yellow part is beginning. Perfect. Zooming back out to 25. I want to make sure we have the same distance here then here. This is pretty good, but maybe I can be a bit closer. Like this and now again, centering this. Perfect. The last thing I need to do to customize this one page and reproduce this. You see there were a little bit smaller here so I can reduce the size slightly more. What's important is that they are centered. This looks good. I'm going to add the Canva logo. For this you can go to elements and type in Canva. The first thing that should pop up is your Canva logo. Of course you need to make it smaller and I'm going to zoom in all the way up. Maybe not too big. 200, yes. To have more precision I can also collapse this panel right here. The idea was to have that in the eyes and you can start positioning them and then play with the keyboard arrows to finish the positioning. Once I have one, I just simply duplicate this element. I know it's the same size. I will rotate it, position it. Finishing with the keyboard arrows. This looks pretty good. Moving onto Diana's eyes, again, duplicating. Maybe I can make it slightly smaller like this. Let me click out to see. Yeah, looks decent and duplicate one more time positioning the other eye, rotate slightly. Now we have our crazy faces spitting rainbows because we're learning so much about Canva. Good. Alright, I can zoom out back to my 25. You know what? Ronnie should be slightly bigger. Oh, I forgot one eye. Making sure I select everything here. I can group Ronnie and I can group Diana separately. Now I can make my face slightly bigger than Diana's because I'm a little bit taller than her. That looks good let's go ahead and use this. I can ungroup this as well to order a little bit more here and perfect. I'm happy with this page. We can compare with the original page. You see it's pretty similar. Oh, I noticed that I swapped us, but it's okay. We can use this anyways. Alright, so we are moving on. I'm going to cut this lecture here, and in the next lecture we will continue creating the website. I will see you there. 4. Designing your Website (Offer): Guys welcome back. This is lecture 3, and we are continuing to design our landing page. So far we have the first page, which is like the homepage, where we have our title, and the value proposition, the tagline, if you wish. Then we have our presentation page. What is the Rondi Bootcamp? Ten canva courses in 60 days. This is a little bit of introduction of what is the Bootcamp. Now, we are going to tackle the meat of this website, which is the Bootcamp program. Let me go back to the original landing page that I have already created. This is the three pages, one, two, and three that are actually the Bootcamp program. We are going to reproduce this in this lecture. In the last lecture, I'm going to tackle the design of your last page, which is how to start the Bootcamp. You'll see this is including different elements like a video, a call to action and a sticker. For now, let's focus in this lecture; the Bootcamp program. Back to our original pending ongoing project right here, the reproduction of all this. I had collapsed the left side panel in the previous lecture. I'm going to reopen it simply by clicking on any black part, I clicked on the text, but I can be on my templates page, for example. We've used from the template here, the presentation, the mobile first presentation templates in Canvas. We've used this page right here to create the structure of this page. Let's start by tweaking the title. This is going to be Bootcamp, if I'm correct, program. Let me make sure Bootcamp program in three lines, Boot Camp Program. Get rid of this little guy right here. We have an Bitmoji of Diana. The first thing I want to do is to simply, just like the other pages, add my brand colors, so make this on brand if you wish. I have the background, which is the yellow color, this color. This, which is my black color in peace sounds. That's already the right font, and then I believe we start with blue here. We start with the blue box and then we have a pink one and then again blue, and like this, we just alternate blue and pink. I'm going to dump this one, these two ones for now and just simply copy this so it will be easier, and let me check page 2 right here. I start with the blue. Then I will have the last page, which is only two, and we will come back to this later. What I'm going to do now is to add the bitmoji right here, the one with the pencil and the one with the books at the end of page 2. Let's add all these bitmojis. For this, again for you, you just click on the more section here, bitmoji and you find all your bitmoji there. But for me, because I had to use two people bitmoji, I need to go back to my folder where I stored them, so I'm going to create a blank page, which is this one. Get rid of the background so you're not confused on what page this is, and find Diana's bitmoji with the pencil. Where would that be? It's probably the one series. I can see it right here. This one, perfect, so I make this smaller, bring that here. I think it's a bit bigger and I flipped it. When selected, you can use the flip button and flip horizontally like this. Can go back and see. I started with a pink actually here. This is not a big deal, can continue with the blue, no big deal. Just going to zoom in a little bit and in 25 to make sure her feet actually touch the blue shape right here, so this looks good. Back to 25, so we have bootcamp program. We have Diana's bitmoji here, which is good. I can also make sure I'm using the safe zones. This would be like probably here, looks good. I will be using the one with the books right here, but you can use really any bitmoji you like. This is really up to you. Bring her down here, and also I'm going to flip her like this, make her smaller. I will not bring her too close to the edge here of the document because depending on the phone people will be using, they can have a slight crop on the resolution of their screen will apply a different crop. I don't want to go too close to the edge in any direction, basically. This looks good. The last bit that I need is this part right here where we're both handing out the trophy because you've made it all the way to all the courses. Let me show you on the original one, this one where we are both here holding up the trophy. I'm going to find these big emojis as well. I deleted the page so it add another page. Make it white. For you, it's just a question of finding the right bitmoji or whatever. You know, you can really create your website. I decided to go with bitmojis for the styling of these particular website. But you can really play with whatever photo that you like, whatever visuals that you like. This is really entirely up to you. I'm going to be using this one right here. I believe this is the one. Delete everything else. Put it here for now. Go to Diana's bitmojis, find the same one, can see it here in the background. Bring it here, and I can get rid of this. The way I did this, select them both and make them bigger, that's the first thing, so run this here, then as here, of course needs to be flipped like this. Just need to bring them to the right size, so it could be something like this and run a slightly bigger or the other one maybe slightly smaller like this. This look good. The last thing I did is to find a trophy. I went to my elements section and I typed trophy. I simply grabbed this trophy. This looks pretty good, can bring it down a little bit, this will work. We have our bitmoji is all set up. Now I'm going to speed up the video while I tweak all the texts here. I know you don't need to see that it will really depend on the copy that you will be using. For the purpose of this video not being too boring, I'm just going to copy and paste all the texts that I have here and speed up the video. I'll see you when I'm done with this. I finished copying or my texts in the right boxes. This is where we are right now. I will stop this lecture here for now, and in the next one, we are going to focus on the last page of our landing page, which is the page that includes the video, the call to action, and the little arrows right here. I will see you in the next lecture. 5. Designing your Website (Call to Action): Hey guys. Welcome to the last designing lecture of this course where we're going to finish our landing page and see how everything comes to life. This is the page we are going to design. This has a title, a sticker, embedded YouTube video and a call to action with another sticker here to attract people's attention. Let's go and design this page. We are going to get rid of this one visual, setup our base color as the pink color. All of this, I'm going to ungroup this text., probably move this up for now, get rid of the smaller parts and this one is going to be the same style as this part right here. I'm going to click on this, use the Copy style button, scroll down and click on my text "Contact Us." I want this to be all caps. It is all caps, perfect. It's not going to be Contact us, but it's going to say How to start the boot camp, and that's a question so I need a question mark. Seventy two, this is 75. I need to make it 72 and white. Choosing the color, white. How to start the boot camp? This comes all the way up. Next, what do we have here? We have a video here with a little bit of a shadow behind it. This shadow is actually another shade of this pink and it's just a shape that I put behind it. This one you will see has rounded corners, so we're going to get rid of this one and add a proper rectangle. You see Canva proposes this color so I didn't look much further and I was using this one color that Canva was suggesting. How to start the boot camp, then we have this shadow for behind my video so all I need to do now is to fetch the video. Let's go fetch that video and embed a video in Canva. Let me show you how we can embed videos in Canva. For this, you click on the little "More" button right here and you see you have a YouTube app in the App section of Canva right here. This is available to all users, so free and pro users alike will have this extension, this app. You can click here and you can either browse YouTube and choose a video, or if you have the particular URL for a particular video of yours, you can type it here. If you don't have videos on YouTube, you can also embed videos from different platforms. If you click on the plus here, you can embed stuff from Instagram. It could be an Instagram post, it could be a Facebook post from your page, from your personal account. It could be also a direct embed here from all these different platforms. There's a wide variety of things you can embed in Canva. For me, I'm going to go back to YouTube. Oops, not this one. I was in the Embed, but I'm going to go back to the plus section right here, in the Apps section and go to YouTube. Because I know exactly the URL of this particular video, that's the one I'm going to be using. For this, it is my SkillShare Free for 2 Months video. You can type that in here, just a regular search in YouTube and see if it comes up. Yes, it does come up so that's perfect. I'm going to stretch it not to fit my box because the box needs to fit the video actually. I make sure it is centered. Now, all I need to do is to select the rectangle behind it and make it to the right shape. I can also move it. It needs to be a bit bigger. I'm going to zoom in to actually see what I'm doing. Getting rid of this panel and have an even border around this video so that it looks cool. That looks pretty good. I would say it's pretty even so I can zoom out to 25 percent. What does that mean? Well, it means that when people will click on the website because we are going to export this whole project as a website. For this, we will go with the Present button right here. You see, you will click on the arrow next to it and then you have the option to export as a website. Because we will share this landing page as a website, we'll share URL other people can click on. This is actually going to be clickable in this final URL, this final version of the landing page so people will be able to watch this YouTube video directly from your landing page. That's going to be very cool. What else did I have on this page? Yes, we had the big Call to action button. For this, I just simply went back to my homepage and copied this Call to action. You can group that and I will simply copy it. I will go right-click, copy, scroll back to my last page, right-click, paste. Now, we have it. I'm going to bring it back up to here, and I need to center this a little bit better. It's actually selecting everything. I can make it so it looks more in the middle of everything like this. Perfect,. To change the color of this box to yellow and the color of the texts. Let me bring back my site banner here. I'm going to ungroup for now, select my text and have the black color for maximum contrast. I did a couple of more tweaks to this. I think I did this first bold and here too. I'm going to ungroup for now and I'm going to bold this text. These two buttons are going exactly to the same link, they are going to my skill share free trials so that people can actually start the boot camp because this trial on skill share, which is where I want to bring people. Let's spend a little bit of time explaining that, a 100 percent so you understand what I'm doing. The point from me and Diana for creating this boot camp is double. You see, if I click on the link, you will see I created a bit.ly, I know where this traffic comes from, but this is actually my Skillshare free two months trial, I'll copy this and I will paste this here. But before I'll start by pasting it on the first, homepage button, I'll regroup this selected. So you make sure you select your buttons and then you add a link simply like this. This whole part right here, the texts and the box, we'll be clickable in your final exported version of this landing page. I will come to this in the last lecture of the course. Now all we need to do is to add these two stickers to the little arrows right here and the little fire and finger tapping on this button icon. Where did I find these? I go to my elements and I can type in sticker arrows, and then Canvas will open all the stickers and the moving arrows. You can use whatever you want but I use something like this, just in a different color. I think it was these ones, let me double-check. Three arrows, moving in a crazy way, I think these ones. Fortunately for now you can not change the color of your stickers. So I'm finding one that works with the rest of my colors right here. So this one will be fine, I think I used the keyword Tap. Finding the one with the fire, was this one, clicking on my page using this and making it smaller like this, I believe, it's bigger. Looks good now, let me see, it's actually a bit bigger. Always good to have a bigger fire. I think we are pretty much here, let me see. I think we can make this texts bigger and this text doesn't say get started, but enroll now. I will move it slightly this way and move the fire slightly the other way, like this. Let me step back and see, this could be a bit more centered. Enroll now we have the fire, we need to group all this and add the link here too. So pasting my link, perfect. So I believe we are all good with this landing page. The last thing I need to do is to test everything, I'm going to do this in the next lecture, hold on guys, we are almost at the end of this learning page project. Stay tuned for the next lecture. 6. Exporting the Website and Testing it: Hey guys, welcome back to the course. This is the absolute last lecture and this is going to be a short one. I'm going to show you how to export this in a website, and then we are going to test this with a mobile phone to see how everything looks on a mobile phone. The way you export your website, you can make sure you have all your pages, we can use the view page like this, so you can see all your pages laid down. This looks pretty cool, very on-brand. You can see everything using my typography, but also my brand colors. Everything looks super cool, super nice, and that's the result that you need to strive for. You need to have something very much on-brand. Couple of hints and tips to get there. Have a brand style guide. If you don't have a brand style guide, I believe there is an entire course about this in my skillshare profile, so you can search there and find the section about using and creating your brand style guide with Canva. You will not regret it because this is the base for many projects. Then once you have your brand style guide, just use it thoroughly. Use It really, make sure every font you bring, every color you use, is something from your brand kit. You can also go faster if you have a Canva pro account, by simply creating your brand kit, so you don't have to type in every color hex code or every font name each time. I'm going to close this multi-page view and I'm going to export it. As I was saying, you will go to the little arrow right here in the top right corner of your screen, and you'll search for website. You click on website and you will see that you have different styles. The web style is here, you have presentations, scrolling, classic navigation, and I encourage you to play around with different web styles here, but I'm going to go with scrolling. I'm going to go with scrolling, and I can pay and open the website because I have one paid element, I can see which one it is. It is our little rocket right here, which is fine. I'm going to pay for this and download the website. Pay and download. I have paid for this $1 element and now, great, your payment was successful. I can copy the link of my website and I can open the website. I'm just going to open the website. It's opening my website. Just be aware, that as I was telling you, this is not optimized for a desktop experience though. Everything will be quite centered here at the middle of my desktop screen because I'm recording this from my desktop, but it doesn't look bad. It's just that it's not optimized for a desktop. Should be spreading across the whole page and not like this, centered everything in the middle, small in the middle. But now, and this is the interesting part, we are going to go switch to my mobile view. I'm going to be recording my iPhone screen and you will see the difference right here. Let me close this, and I will be showing you how it looks from a mobile view. The first thing I need to do is to share the link to the website so I can access this via my phone. You can see here, how the website is looking, and you can see it's looking pretty good on a mobile actually. It's looking very good actually. You see everything is in the right dimension, the stickers are working, the video is also working. I can stop it, I can close it, and the links, this is what's more important, are working.
