1. Promotion: Hello, and welcome to Part six of my beaded jewelry making series. In this class, we create a beautiful leaf inspired bracelet by beading three delicate leaf. One of the best things about this design is its versatility. By making a simple adjustment, you can also turn that into a beautiful necklace and create a matching jewelry set. You'll also learn how to use bracelet cord to create an adjustable closure and most importantly, how to tie sliding knots. This is an essential jewelry making technique that you can use in many future bracelet and necklaces projects. Be sure to check out the other classes in this series as well. Each class introduces new designs, tips and techniques that will gradually help you become a confident and skilled jewelry maker. Let's gather our supplies and start creating. 2. 1. Standard Bracelet Sizing: We want to calculate the standard size of the bracelet. First, we will size around our wrist with a thread or a fabric meter. Not too tight, not too loose. And then we'll see how much is it. For example, 15 centimeters. Now we want to see how we want our bracelet to look in our hand. If we want it to be fit and standard on our hand, we'll add one to one point half centimeters. If you want it to be tight, you will add 0.521 centimeters. And if you want it to be loose on the rest, you'll add 2 centimeters. I want it to be fit and standard, so I add only one centimeters to 15, which would give me 16 centimeters. And then at last, we should subtract the length of the clasp from this length that we've acquired. For example, if the combination length of the clasp and the jumpings are 2 centimeters, 16 minus two equals 14 centimeters. So I should beat my bracelet until I reach 14 centimeters. 3. 2. Four Bracelet Designs You'll Learn in my Classes: Okay, my dear friends, in this course, we are going to learn how we can create four kinds of bracelets. And I haven't chosen these four just randomly. Each one of these bracelets have their own special and useful hints that you can learn. And also, they have each a different look. For example, on this bracelet, you'll learn how to do spiral bidding. You would also learn which clasps to use for spiral bracelets, and you'd know how they are attached to the bracelet. In this one, you'll learn how to bead a wide and thick bracelet. Also, the clasp suited for this, how is going to be made and how is going to be attached. This is a bracelet that is class, which is usually called square sliding knot, and we make it with nylon bracelet cord. And if you learn this knot, you can actually use it on any bracelet or any necklace that you like. And as you can see, the bracelet itself is very beautiful as well. And of course, this one is actually this bracelet is a mixture of pearls and seed beads, and they look like crosses. And it class is a handmade class that. We actually use wire to create it. And if you just learn how to create this class, it's very easy. But if you learn it, you can use it in any kind of bracelet or necklace that you like. That we have the tutorial of this bracelet in our advanced jewelry making course. You can also acquire this course and learn a lot of techniques and hints. You can even use it in this bracelet or this one. Now, this is a lobster class that we are going to learn how we can work with it. So right now, I just wanted you to be introduced to different kinds of bracelets that we are going to work on in this course. So it was just a general introduction that you would know in each one of them, you would learn how to create what and how to work with what class. I'm going to teach you about all of these bracelets from zero to the completion of the work step by step. And when you learn how to beat these bracelets, you can even use them as necklaces, as well. Just like the bracelet, I've bided glasses strap for this, and it would be just a beautiful set and match. Yeah, for the glass strap, I've actually mixed my seat beads with chains, and overall, I would give a very beautiful and attractive work. 4. 3. Starting the Leaf Pattern: Hello, for our tutorial today, I've considered this work, which you can either bead as a bracelet or even a necklace or earring. As you can see, they look like some leaves being next to each other. Because we want our work to be placed better on our chest, our clothes or even on our hands, our wrists, it's better to use invisible monofilament thread for this, or even a fire line thread. Because just as I said before, if we want our work to be more firm and be placed more rigid on the body, it's better to use either one of these threads. I mean, monofilament or fire line threads. And if we want our work to be softer or more flexible, it's better to use nylon threads or silk threads. Now for this work, I'm using the monofilament thread with the size 0.15 millimeters. And if you're using a fire line thread, you can use a crystal color, and the size would be four pound or the thickness of 0.13 millimeters. Set bit size ten or 11 and a crystal Rundle beat size four. And for the end of this lock for crystals in size six, and we need nylon bracelet cord for the square sliding knot. 2 meters bread. If your thread gets twisting and nodding during your work and it's bothering you. In this step, just put your thread in boiling water for 10 minutes. For the beginning of my work, I just thread one bead. It doesn't matter which kind of bead is it. As a lock bead, so the few first beads would not just come out. I keep about 20 centimeters of my thread, and I pass my needle through this bed two more times. So it would be totally locked in and it wouldn't move. And the forking with a long thread is harder for you. You can actually cut 1 meter, start your work with it, and then in the middle of your work that your thread is finished, you can not it there and start again with the new thread. Now I take six seat beads, and then I pass my needle through the two which are in the middle. You see it would be a shape like this, and I put my finger over here in this distance above the seat bed, and then with my nail, I just pull it down until it gets attached to the seat beds below them. Now in this step, I take one more seatbd and then I pass my needle through these four downward. And I get my golden crystal Rondel beat size four, and I come back up through these two seed beads here. See, now it looks like this. See, now my thread has came out of this seed bead. Then I take four seed beads, and I take them to the end of the thread. And you see, now our four previous seed beds became six. And if you remember, even at the beginning of my work, I took six seedbeds and I passed my needle through the two seabeds in the middle. And now we're just going to repeat the same thing again. So again, I pass my needle through these two seed beds in the middle. And you see if there is a distance between your seat beads here, just use your nail to pull it down. Now in this system, we took one set beat, if you remember, exactly like the previous one. I just take one solo set beat, and then I pass my needle through these four set beads downward. Okay. And now in this step, again, it's turned for a crystal. I thread one crystal, and then I pass my needle through these two seed beads upward this time. Then again, I go to the start point. I have two seed bits here. I take four more seed bits, so they would be total of six. All right, then I pass my needle through the two which are in the middle. Then I get one solo seat beat. I pass my Na through this for downward. Then I thread a crystal and I come back out through these two set beads. I pass my needle through them upward. Just make sure you pull the thread really hard in each step. Now, let's see, my bracelet has three leaves that in each leaf on each side, it has six crystals. I'm not talking about these lower crystals. We'll add these later. I accept this sit bid. I should have six on each side. You see in our work, we've already bided three of them. I would continue this until I get to the sixth one, then again, I return to explain. 5. 4. Completing the First Leaf: Okay. Now I've completed the six. Now, you see, my thread is right here above these two seed beads. I pass my needle through these two set beads on the side and I go down and then I pass my needle through all these six crystals downward. You see, I'm passing my needle through all of these six crystals. Okay, now, I pass my dia through these five seed beads on the bottom. And now I pass it through these other four. See, I skip the first one, and I will return from the rest of these four. So you might think, why did I do this? I went through these set beds and I came back. Because now I want to be the other half of my leaf. And for the starters of the other side of the leaf, my thread should be gotten out of the lowest part or the most bottom part of our work, which means these seed beads. Not crystals. Now, with the thing that I did here, I mean, passing my needle through these seed beads and returning them, I got my thread to come out of the lowest part of my work, which means the lowest seed beads. Now, again, I get a crystal and obviously six seed beads. And then again, I'll repeat the same thing I did before. I've got six seat beads. I pass my needle through the two in the middle. I pull them down with my nail. I take one seat beat solo. And I pass my needle through these four downward. And then I take a crystal and I pass my needle through these two upwards. You see, just like that. Again, like the previous steps, I thread four seabeds and I take them to the end of my thread. I pass my needle through the middle Sepeds and the two middle speeds. Just like that on this side of my leaf, I also do the same thing for six times. So at last, I would have six crystals on this side exactly as I have on the other side. Okay, as you can see, now I have completed the side of my leaf as well. See, I've completed all my six crystals on this side too. Okay, as I told you, we are not considering this bottom crystal, and except that we have six crystals on each side. Now it's time to attach these two sides together. So I thread two seed beads, one crystal, and, again, two other seed beds. And then I pass them through these two seed bits which are on the opposite side. Now we are only using crystal Rundle Beats size four, and crystal Rundle Beats size six are only for the end of our work and the square sliding knot. Just like that, I take one more set beat, and then I pass my Nita through these four set beads which are on this side, and I also pass it through the crystal as well. And again, I pass my needle through these other four on the other side. I also pass my needle through this one seed bed that we have just added into our work. Now I get to the six crystals that I've beaded newly on this side. If you remember, for the first side, we have passed our needle through all of these six crystals on our first side of the leaf. So they would be stuck together, and our work would be more firm and rigid. So obviously, I should do the same thing for this side as well. I should pass my needle through all these six crystals on our new side. So all these six crystals on this side would also stick together very firmly and consecutively. No. Okay, see, this is the bottom part. I've got one seed beat between the crystals on each side. So I'll take one seed bead. And again, I skip this crystal on the bottom. You see, now my thread has came out of this crystal. So I'll take one seed bead, and then I pass my needle through all six crystals next to it. And I go up. Now you see between my two crystals, now there is a sea bed. All right. Now I should pass my needle through these sea beds upwards. There I can start my new leaf. You see the 20 or 15 centimeters of the thread that we've kept in the beginning of our work is still in my hand. I pass my needle through this crystal. 6. 5. Starting the Second Leaf: And over here, again, I take six seed beats. So I'm just going to repeat whatever I did in the past for our new leaf. Here I've got six seed beads, so I pass my needle through the two, which are in the middle. I take one seed bed over here and I pass my needle through these four downwards. Oo, then I thread one crystal and I pass my needle through these two upwards. Again, I say, just remember to pull your thread hard in these parts, so your work would be tight and firm, and also your leaf would totally be attached to the previous leaf and there wouldn't be any distance between the two leaves. And then just pay attention. If you can see, only for the beginning of each side, we take six seed beads. In the rest of our work, there would be only four seed beds that plus those two which are left here would make a total of six seed beads overall. You see if we took six for these, six for this one, and six for the new one. But for the rest of our work, I only need to take four see beads. So, again I say, we only take six sbts for the beginning of each side, and for the rest, only four. Now I also complete all these six crystals on this side as well. Now I have completed my first side of my second leaf here. After I've passed my needle through all these six crystals, and I came down, I've also passed my needle through these five seed beds and also came back and returned. Now, through this crystal, I should pass my needle to the other side, and then I take the six seed beds for the second side. And just continue the rest of your work like the previous steps. All right. Now, I'll continue doing this until I get the number of the leaves that I wanted. If you want, your whole bracelet can be covered with the leaves or not. Just like me, you could have only three leaves, and the rest would be dandelion thread. You can either create a necklace out of it covered with leaves or just like this one again. Only part of it would become beaded with the leaves, and the rest a dandelion thread like this one. So just complete these leaves and we can move on to the square sliding knots. All right. I've completed my three leaves. Now I want to make a ring with six seed beads on each side of it, or say on each end of it, so I can get this cord through. And as you can see, six on the end as well. I pass my needle through the crystal. Then I take six seed beads, and then again, I pass my needle through the same crystal. Just one more time, I pass my needle through these six seed beads so it would get tight and firm. Now, again, I pass my needle through the crystal. And over here, I come down through several seedbeds here. See, I want to take my needle to this point to this thread. You see this thread over here so I can have my finishing knot. Try to tie your knots next to the crystal because they have bigger size comparing to the seed beads. So they would be less insight because the crystals are in bigger sizes. The knot would be less visible. Now, I pass my needle through under this thread. Then I pass my needle through this ring gyp made here. And one more time. I keep two or 3 millimeters of my thread, and then I heat it. And after it got melted, I just stick it to my work. Just pay attention. You can do this heating if your thread is a monofilament thread. If it's a fire line thread, after tying your knot, just pass it through several seed beds and then after that cut your thread. I just want to remind you one more time. If you're doing your work with fire line, Thread it would be much more rigid and firm. But because this is a beginner course, the beginners should definitely use cheaper materials in the beginning of their work. That's why I used monofilament thread here. So they would know how to make them and they know the way. And with the fire line thread, it's just the same procedure at the end of the work that we tied the knot, we just escape the burning of the thread. Okay, now for this first of all, I take out the bead that we've first got it in here in the beginning. And then with this 20 centimeters of my thread, I create another ring just like the other one at the other end, but here with six beats. 7. 6. How to Tie a Square Sliding Knot: Now we want to work on a square sliding knot. For doing this, we need a bracelet cord. We need three pieces of Nylon bracelet cords that two of them are 20 centimeters, and one of them is 25 centimeters. These two cords which have 20 centimeters of length, we just put them through these rings on both ends of our bracelet. And then I need four crystals in size six. I just want to use this crystal charms at the end of my cord. So I put them there. I tie a knot, and then I bring the knot to the end of my cord. And then I use the three remaining crystals and do the same thing with the three other parts of my cord which are not used now. See, now I put my 25 centimeter cord on any surface that you're using. And then I put the other two cords on top of it as the shape of an X. So I just call this 25 centimeters my main cord and the other two, I call them the bracelet cord. Put my main cord in a way that is equal on both sides. It shouldn't be more or less on each side, totally equal. Now, see what I do. I'm just dragging my main cord over all of these bracelet cords to this other side. And then it gets under this side of the main cord itself. And then I'm going to grab my main cord on the left side, and it would just go in the opposite way. It means first it should go through underneath all of the cords. And now from over my main cord. And then I pull my cord hard and it gets firm and tight, and it shapes my knot. Just like that, I tied my first knot. Now, for my second knot, I do the exact same opposite thing. See, in the previous part, my right main cord just went over my bracelet cords and under my main cord on the other side. But this time, I'm going to do the opposite of that. It means first, I'm going to take my right main cord and I pass it through underneath my bracelet cords and over my left main cord. Then my left main cord is again opposite, so it goes over my bracelet cords and passing through underneath my right main cord. And so for the previous knot, I just passed my right main ord underneath my bracelet cords. But this time, I'm going over my bracelet cords. You see, it's just changing every other one. And then again obviously underneath my main cord on the left. And the left main cord would go opposite way of my right main cord. It means it goes underneath my bracelet cords and over my main cord on the right. So just like that, you should take these cords and knots really tight and make the knots stick together. There won't be any distance between them and it would be tight. Now, the fourth knot. Now obviously, again, this time, my right main cord should go underneath the bracelet cords and over my main cord on the left. And the left main cord would go opposite way of my right main cord. So it goes over my bracelet cords and passing through underneath my right main cord. Then the fifth knot would go from over and under and under from over on this side. I'll continue this until the length of my square slide or naught would be up to one or 1.5 centimeters. Under from over from over and under. From over and under. And under. From over. Well, I continued this for almost 1.5 centimeters, so I just tighten my knots. Then you cut the cords in a way that only leave 2 millimeters on your knots. You don't need to keep more of them. Then by using a lighter, I just burn my cord and I stick it to my work. In the beginning, it might seem a bit too tight because we've pulled it so we can get it really strong and rigid. But as you continue using it, it gets loosened up a bit, and it would open and close much more easier. So I've got one silver bracelet, and now I'm putting on my gold bracelet next to it. If you enjoyed creating these projects, don't forget to leave a rating or a review. Just be careful and do not tighten it with your teeth. Just be careful about that. You can easily open and close your boy sled with two of your hands. So these are beautiful works next to each other, so you can even choose easier which one to do. I really hope you've enjoyed this tutorial, as well, and good luck to all of you. The next work which I'm gonna teach you is this beautiful, attractive piece of art. Well, you should be definitely with us so you can learn the techniques and its hints completely and thoroughly.
