1. Welcome to the Class: The day I started exploring
Art on its different styles, I knew I had some
intense love for painting landscapes
and seascapes. All over. There is a
different piece and it, hey everybody myself
protect Patel. I'm a self-taught
independent artist and an interior
designer by profession. Dating is something that
I love to do the most and make Art as simple as possible
for all my dear students. This class, we are
going to create ten beautiful gouache paintings, having different styles of
Landscapes and Seascapes. The class is absolutely beginner friendly with easy and
simple techniques to paint. The best part about the
classes that you will need minimum Art Supplies to paint
all the ten class projects. We are going to start
by talking about all the Art Supplies
that you will need. They're going to talk about
the watercolor papers and the brushes that you will
need for this entire class. I'll be teaching
you how you have to side tape your watercolor paper. We are going to learn
how you can create a beautiful gradient effect
using only two colors, which are going to
be black and white. We are going to paint beautiful
little minimal elements which are going to combine and form ten beautiful
class project. Each project is
explained in detail so that students can understand
all the steps carefully. As someone who's very
passionate about teaching odd, my major focus is to create some beautiful classes
for beginners and intermediate artists
who are trying to develop their skills and become
more confident than Art. So without any delay, grab your Art Supplies and join me in this
beautiful Art journey.
2. Art Supplies: So before we started is very important for all of you to know the correct Art
Supplies that you will need for this entire class. So here I have all
my Art Supplies being placed on my desk. And the most amazing part
about the Art Supplies is that you are going to need very minimal Art Supplies
for the entire class. So let us start with
the watercolor people that we will need
for this class. So the size of the watercolor
paper is A6 basically, and it is 300 GSM. Or GSM basically means
the thickness of the Paper so that we can
apply heavy washes on it. We also have an off our
paintings here as well. So you can observe
the exact size of the Paper since we are going to use it in a landscape format. Now the next Art
Supplies is basically a simple color
palette in which we can take out some
good amount of color, mix it, and create some
good combinations. The next up we have brushes that we are going to
use for the class. So there are three
brushes basically. So the first one is a simple
flat brush, size four. And we are going to
use it to create some beautiful background wash on the entire watercolor paper. Next up we have a simple
round brush, size four. Then we have another
round brush of size six. You can also use a
one-inch flat brush to apply ten god of water
on the watercolor paper. That is also absolutely fine. Next up we have a simple
Tissue paper to dab the brushes to remove excess
amount of water and color. Then we have a simple
1 " masking tape. So this is a Tape
which we are going to use to side tape the
watercolor paper. Now, the most amazing part about the classes that we are only
going to use two colors, which are going to
be black and white. And using these two colors, we are going to create
ten beautiful projects. Then I have a simple cup in
which we are going to hold some clear water so that we can clean the brushes and
use it wherever needed. So these are all
the odd supplies that you will need for
this entire class. Now let us move
towards the next part.
3. Lets Tape the Paper: So before we start with
our first painting, it is very important
for all of you to know how you have to cite tape
your watercolor paper. On my desk as you can observe, I have my watercolor paper ready and willing to paint it
in a landscape format. You can observe that I have placed it in a horizontal way. Now let us talk about the
watercolor paper first. So these are 300 GSM
watercolor paper and the size is A6 and you're going to place it in
a horizontal format. Now let me also tell
you why we are going to apply a masking
tape on the sides. So once we apply this
masking tape on the side, then we'll be starting
the painting. And after the painting is done, we'll remove the
masking tape so that we get this beautiful
white borders. And the painting can look more
presentable and finished. So just make sure that you
place your watercolor paper in a position you are
comfortable to paint with. So once your watercolor
paper is being placed, let us start from
the top portion. I've taken a piece
of masking tape and I'm trying to apply it
on the watercolor paper. So make sure that
your masking tape is parallel with the paper edge. Tried to keep some portion
of the masking tape onto the watercolor paper and some
portion on to your desk. And just simply
tap your finger on it and make sure
that the tape is stuck in a proper manner
when the watercolor paper and the surface so
that it does not move. So similarly, we will be placing the masking tape on
the sides as well. I have placed one on
the right side and other will be placing
on the left portion. Now we have applied
the masking tape on all the four sides. And you can observe that these tapes are parallel
with the paper edge. Now simply tap your finger
onto the masking tape carefully so that you make sure that it is
stuck completely. Now let us move
towards the next part.
4. Project 1 - Hills by the Beach: Hey everybody, you
are most welcome to the first Painting which
is Hills by the Beach. I hope that you've got
an exact idea how you have to side tape your
watercolor paper carefully. I'm ready with my two colors, which are going to
be black and white, a cup of water,
my color palette, Tissue paper, and
all the brushes on the left-hand portion. So here you can
observe an extra brush of size 1 " flat brush. So incase you do not
have a 1 " flat brush. That is absolutely fine. You can use your size
four flat brush as well. So we are going to apply
a thin coat of water initially onto the
watercolor paper using this 1 " flat brush.
So no need to hurry. You can do this step in a
way careful and easy manner. But before that, let me draw a simple horizon line which is going to subtract the sky
area and the water body area, which we are going to have
for this particular painting. I'm just using a simple
pencil and I have drawn a line in-between the
watercolor paper. And I'll be using my
flat brush initially, and we'll be applying a ten quarter-on-quarter
on the top portion, which is about the origin line which we have drawn
with the pencil. Now while applying a
thin coat of water, no need to hurry at all. Make sure that you
have applied water on the complete area of
the watercolor paper. Also, you have to take care
that there isn't any space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. Now this is basically known
as a wet on wet technique, which we are doing right now. So we have applied at ten
god of water initially, so that while we
are going to apply color onto the watercolor paper, it can spread in a very
smooth and good way. We are going to create a
beautiful gradient effect in the sky area. I have taken my size four flat brush and I've taken some white color and
my color palette, as you can observe. Now you can take us Pair brush or you can take any
waste production that you have and simply take some black color as well
into the color palette. Now I'll be using my same
plaid rash of size four, and we'll be mixing some amount of black to the white color. And we are going to create
a beautiful gray shade. You can add some amount of water so that the color
can lose a little bit. And you have to mix it in a
very proper and good manner. So no need to hurry at all. Make sure that you do not add excess amount of water to
the color that we are mixing right now because we
have already applied at ten coat of water onto
the watercolor paper. You can already
observe the I created a beautiful shade of gray by mixing some white
and black together. No need to worry at all incase you do not get the exact shape. It is absolutely fine. They can be a little bit
difference in your shade. I've used the same brush of sides board and
I have applied few horizontal strokes just above the horizon line
as you can observe. So we have applied this color
on the bottom portion only. Now to create a beautiful
gradient effect, what we are going to do
is we are going to apply some solid black color
onto the top portion. I have taken the same flat
brush size four and add some amount of water onto the black color as you can
observe in the color palette. And we are going to apply this solid black color
on the top portion, which is right now
a little bit white. So just mix the
color well and just apply the same
horizontal strokes that we have applied
on the below. Abortion. Makes sure that there
isn't any space left between the
masking tape and the watercolor paper that
will not look nice when we are done with the painting and we remove the masking tape. I have applied the
solid black color till the gray shade
that we have applied. Now you can clearly see a line of difference
between both the colors. Now we want to create a
beautiful gradient effect. So simply just clean
your flat brush size for dabbing onto the
Tissue paper so that all the excess amount of
water will be removed. Make sure that you have
cleaned your flat brush in a very careful way and there
isn't any color in between. Make it dry and just apply the flat brush between the
colors as you can observe. You can also observe the
movement of my hand. I'm just applying it in
a horizontal direction without moving it on the
up or bottom portion. And you can already see how beautifully both the colors
are blending together. Now slowly, I'll be moving
towards the top portion and you can see how beautifully the color is getting
transitioned. So this is how we have created the gradient effect
on to the sky area. Now similarly, we have some water body onto
the bottom portion, which is just below
the horizon line. So the steps are
absolutely same. So just have to follow
the same steps. Does take some solid black
color into your flat brush. Size four, apply a
nice horizontal line just below the horizon line You can observe that we want
a nice crisp horizon line. So that's why I'm just using
the tip of my flat brush. You can add some
amount of water to the colors if they are dried. Also, no need to hurry
while doing this. Just make sure that you
have a very steady hand and try to paint it in a
very slow and steady manner. So you can see I've applied the gray color on
the bottom portion. Now simply make sure
that your brushes dry and just blend both
the colors together. We are done painting
the entire background. You have to leave it for a
while to dry completely. Now once it dries up, you can observe the
gradient effect carefully. Now, this is how does sky area and the water
body is going to be. Now let us start with the first element for
this particular painting, which is going to be
a beautiful snowy. Now incase, you're not that much confident enough to paint
the snow hail directly. What you can do is you
can use a simple pencil. You can create the shape of the Hills that I'm
doing right now. And you can already
observed that Hills generally have
a very natural shape. So no need to worry at all. You can also create
your own shapes as well and create
your own composition. The line is very barely visible, but you can just make it a little bit darker in case you're not he able to see it
that much clearly. Now I'll be using my brush off size six round brush
basically of ethics. We can also use size four
round brush as well. That is also absolutely fine. We are going to take some
solid white color in it. And as you can observe, I'm using the tip of
the round brush to paint and the difficult areas
like the outline basically. And then once you come
towards the inner portion, you can just use maximum color and create
this beautiful texture. So as you can observe
that I'm having very less water in the
brush so that we can create a beautiful texture defect
with the paint and try to have the less amount of water and more color
into the brush. So you can observe
the Forest Hill, which is in the center, which is the bigger hill that
we have painted. Now, once you're done with that, we are going to paint
this on this side area. So again, observe the
movement of my round brush. I'm just making a rough area on the middle portion of the entire mountain
or we can see the solid surface of
the entire mountain. Now, let me paint the hill on the left-hand
portion as well. Use that to paint the outline
of the entire mountain. And as you come towards
the inner portion, you can just observe the
movement of my round brush. Also incase, you're not lag
much confident enough to paint the mountains
directly to the painting. What you can do is
you can practice it on a rough scrape
off paper initially, and then you can come
towards your final painting. We can consider this as the force layer of this snowy mountains
that we have painted. Now once it dries up, we are going to use the
round brush of size four. And we are going to take
some vibrant white, again, directly taken
from the color. And I'm adding very less
amount of water in it. And they are trying to create some depth in the
entire snowy mountain. I'm just going to
create this lived and white effect on the
right-hand portion of the entire mountain. No need to worry at all. It is absolutely fine. You do not have to worry about painting the exact
same way I'm painting. You can create your
own natural textures and do the entire
mountain as well. You can also play
with the shapes and sizes of the mountains. You can observe the
movement of my round brush. I have done it in a very
random and natural way. Now we are going to have some
Hills on the front portion. So just simply clean your
round brush size four. And this time we
are going to take some solid black color in it. So these solid black holes are going to be on
the front portion. Can observe that I'm using the tip of my round
brush so that I can get a thin line to create the outline for the entire
solid black mountain. And no need to hurry. I don't do it in a very
slow and steady manner. I'm trying to have the points
on the Black Hills and between the White
Mountains so that we can create a nice
composition between them. And you can also create your own shapes for
the Mountains as well. And you can also create your
own compositions between the snowy hills and the Black Mountains that
we are painting right now. Now, once we are done with
their entire outline, what we are going to do is
that we are going to fill in solid black color inside
the entire outline potion. So no need to hurry
at all again. Just make sure that you paint it in a very slow and
steady manner. So just take some good
amount of color in your brush and apply
it inside the outline. Try to have less amount
of water incase. You find that your color is dried-up in the color palette. You can add some amount
of water and lose it up. Now while painting
towards the horizon line, be a little bit
careful and try to paint it in a very slow
and steady manner. So I'm just using the My round brush and very
carefully I'm just moving it in a very
horizontal direction. Taking care of that. I'm not moving into
the water body area. So as you can
observe that we have painted the black has also, and you can also see
the composition of both the white Hills
and the Black Hills. Now let us create some
beautiful wrong bodies into the water body area. Now these round
bodies are going to be into the water body areas. So they can be a lot of
variation in the sizes. You can just try to make some natural shapes
on the rocks. So I'm trying to take some rock bodies from
the right-hand side. And you can see, I'm trying
to create the outline first and then I'm trying to fill in some solid black color inside. So to create a good composition
in the entire painting, I'm trying to have
a nice rock body on to the bottom right corner, as you can observe right now. So there isn't a specific way of creating this
particular rock bodies. Also incase, you're not
that much confident enough to paint it directly
to the final painting. What you can do is
you can practice it on a rough scrape
off paper initially, and then you can come towards
your final painting so that they can be very minimum
chances of making any mistakes. You can already observed
that I'm trying to have a nice variation in the sizes of the rock bodies that we have in the water body. Now, let me draw to ten lines which are
going to replicate some waves in the water body so that we can create
some nice composition. Once we're done with
the rock bodies, what we are willing
to do is that we are going to make it a
little bit realistic. So just take your size
four round brush, try to have some
black color with very minimum amount
of water in it. And you have to create these
little horizontal strokes just below the rock bodies. So you can just simply observe the movement
of my round brush. Size four, I have taken
some amount of black color, having a very less
quantity of water in it. And I'm just making these
little horizontal strokes. Now you can observe the details in the horizontal
strokes as well. As we move towards
the bottom portion by making the strokes, you can just decrease the size of the strokes
that you are making. We have created this beautiful
reflection effects so that the rock bodies doesn't
look very simple and plain, can look a little bit realistic and in-depth with
the water body. We have created two
wave lines that we are going to make a little
bit realistic as well. But before that, let us add some white slowly rock bodies in front of the
Black Hills as well. I've just created a
very natural shape by using the tip
of my round brush. So just simply create an outline and then you can fill in
solid white color inside. Now similarly, I'll be adding one more rogue body just
on the right-hand portion. So the step is absolutely same. You just have to simply
create a beautiful outline. You can play with the
shapes as you want to. You can create your own
natural rock bodies as well. You can play with
the composition. And we're also going to have white snow Rob body on the
left-hand portion as well, connecting with the wave line. Once we have painted
the entire rock body, we are going to add the same
kind of reflection effect that we have given in the
black rock bodies as well. I'm trying to have
to rock bodies on the left-hand portion
connecting to each other. And we can create some
smaller rock bodies in-between the
water body as well. You can observe the
movement of my round brush. I have created the solid
white patch and we are going to add the
reflection effect using the same steps. We are going to have very
less amount of water in the entire brush and a
little bit of color, which is going to be white. And you have to make these
little horizontal strokes just below the rock bodies. Make sure that as you move
towards the bottom portion, you can decrease
the size so that the reflection effect looks
a little bit more realistic. Now similarly, I'll be adding
some reflection effect on the rock bodies that we have painted on the left-hand
portion as well. Now we have to wave lines which are a part of
the entire water body. So to make it look a
little bit more realistic, I'm just adding a
draft stroke of white line just above the black line that
we painted initially. So it can look a little bit like real VM that is coming
towards the water body. You can just simply observe the movement of my round brush. I'm just using the
tip of the brush to paint the white portion
just about the wave line, and to enhance the
Blackrock bodies as it is, a very dense and depth format. So we can just add these little horizontal
strokes below them as well. So we are almost done
with the entire painting. Now let us add a very
beautiful element to the entire painting, which is going to
be a little moon. I'm using my round
brush off size four, I have some solid
white color in it. And by using the
tip of the brush, you just have to create
this little ark. And you can see how beautiful
the entire moon looks. Use the tip to paint the painted areas
and you can fill in solid white color and
make it a little bit thicker on the center
portion of the entire moon. No need to hurry a ton in
case you find it a little bit difficult to paint
directly onto the painting. You can practice it on erupt
scrape off paper initially, and then you can come
towards your final painting. We are done when
the entire painting now let us remove
the masking tape. So while removing
the masking tape, be very much careful. Try to remove your
masking tape and an angle so that you do not end up tearing your beautiful painting. And no need to hurry at all. Do it in a very slow
and steady manner. But let me remove the last tape as well and you can
already observe the beautiful white borders that we get once we remove
the masking tape. So as you can see,
the final Painting is ready and I'm really happy
with the final output. I hope that you enjoyed the first class project and
got to learn something new. Now let us move towards
the next Painting.
5. Project 2 - Light House: Hey everybody, you
are most welcome to the second painting which I
have named as the lighthouse. As you can see, I'm ready with my watercolor paper and
we are going to use my 1 " flat brush to apply a ten coat of water initially
to the watercolor paper. Make sure that there
is no space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. This is basically known
as wet-on-wet technique, in which we apply a thin
coat of water initially. And then we are going
to apply some color so that your brush can move
very smoothly on it. Now you can observe
and my color palette, I have created a beautiful shade of gray using some black
and white together. And now we'll be adding a darker tone of black
on the top portion. No need to worry
at all incase you have minor difference
in the shades. It is absolutely fine. Make sure that you do not
take axis amount of water in your color palette
because we have already applied a thin coat of
water in the background. Now simply clean your
size four flat brush, dab it onto the Tissue paper, make it dry and just
blend both the colors. And slowly you can move
towards the top portion and you can see how beautiful the entire gradient
effect looks. Now once the entire
background is dry, we are going to start
painting the Light House. I'm using my round
brush off size four, and I have taken some
solid black color in it. We are starting from
the top portion, so I have just made a semicircular shape and
a small tiny tower on it. Use the tip of your
detailing brush or I can see the round brush off size four
to paint this thin lines. Now we are going to create the entire towel
for the lighthouse. I'm going to create
two lines which are diverging and
are not parallel. So just have to draw the outline Forest
and incase you're not that much confident
enough to paint it directly from your
Painting Brush. You can just use
a simple pencil, create the outline, and then you can fill in solid
black color inside. So you can observe that we have painted the
entire Light House. And now we are going to create some beautiful landscape
area on the bottom portion. So I'm using the tip of my round brush again
and we have created a nice outline depicting
the entire landscape area. Now once the entire
outline is done, we are going to fill in
solid black color inside. So just simply take
your round brush, have some solid
black color inside, and simply you have to
fill in solid black color. So make sure that
you do not have access amount of water
in it and more color. And you can just observe the
direction of my round brush. You just have to make these
little vertical strokes covering the entire area. Awesome one to hurry at all, tried to do it in a very
slow and steady manner, make sure that there
isn't any space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. If you feel that the color is getting emptied from
the entire brush, you can take some more color
from the color palette, add some amount of water, and then you can paint it again. You can see we have almost painting the entire
landscape area. I'm just trying to
finish it up on the right-hand side,
bottom corner. You can try to create
your own outline for the Landscape area as well. You can experiment with the outline and you can then fill in solid
black color inside. I'm just trying to
finish it up. Now. I'll be using my same
detailing brush of size four, which is basically
a round brush. And we are going to add
some beautiful grass are, I can call it as shrubs
in the Landscape area. So you just have to use the
tip of your brush to create the outline for
the entire shrub. We can call it as
and just fill in solid black color inside connecting to the
Landscape area as well. You can observe the movement
of my detailing brush. I'm using the tip of the brush to create this
beautiful grass effect. There are also
going to add this. Now, let us add some shrubs on the right-hand portion of
the landscape as well. The technique is
absolutely same. You have to use the tip
of your detailing brush. Create these little strokes, making a beautiful grass body. Or I can see the structure
of the entire shrub. And then you have to fill
in solid black color inside connecting to the
entire landscape area. We are creating a connection
between the Landscape and leave shrubs so that it can
look like an entire cell out. So we are almost done painting the entire shrub area as well. I'm going to add
some little shrubs near the lighthouse as well. So I'm just trying to paint
it on the right-hand portion, creating little strokes again and filling in
solid black color. I'll be using the tip of
the detailing brush to add these little strokes so that
it can look in more detail. You can also play with the
shapes of these shrubs, and you can also create a good composition by
placing them here in there. Now, I'll be using the tip
of my lettering brush to create some beautiful fence
onto the landscape area. You just have to
make thick strokes, vertical strokes, basically
creating little fence. Let us also add these on
the right-hand portion. Now once we have painted
the vertical strokes, we are going to connect them
by adding two thin lines. So try to use the very tip of your detailing brush to create a thin black line connecting
the vertical fence. Incase you feel that your
brush is a little bit dry. You can add some
amount of water in it. Now to enhance the
entire black element, I have taken some
solid white color and my detailing brush, which is of size four. And we are going to paint some beautiful vertical
lines on the fence. And we are going to create some small windows in
the Light House. You can just observe the
movement of my detailing brush. I'm just using the tip to
paint these little windows. And we are going to create
some staircase just below the Light House
and a curved manner. And it is not going to
have a perfect shape. You just have to make these rough strokes and
horizontal direction. And as they move towards
the bottom portion, you have to decrease the
size of the strokes. Now using the same
detailing brush I'm going to paint a beautiful moon. It is a very simple technique. You just have to create a circle and you have to fill in solid
white color inside. And we are done with
the entire painting. Now let us move
towards the last step, which is removing
the masking tape. No need to hurry at all, do it in a very slow
and steady manner. Try to remove the masking
tape and an angle so that you do not end up tearing
your beautiful painting. You can already observe the beautiful white borders that we get once we remove
the masking tape. And this is one of the
most satisfying part. Once you're done with
the entire painting. Now I'll be removing
the last tape as well. And we are done. So you can see the final output
of the lighthouse. Let me take you a little bit closer so that you can
observe the details. You can see using
minimal elements. We have created a
beautiful painting. And I hope that you got to learn something from this
particular painting. Now let us move towards
the next Painting.
6. Project 3 - Pair of Boats: Hey everybody, you are most welcome to the top
Painting which is Pair of Boats size. You
can already observe. I'm ready with my
watercolor paper, and we are going to start
by applying a thin coat of water using a 1 " flat brush. In case you do not
have a 1 " flat brush, you can use your size
four flat brush as well. Now the reason behind
applying a thin coat of water initially is because this is known as a wet
on wet technique. So you can observe that I'm creating a beautiful
gray shade and my color palette
and the brush can move easily on the
watercolor paper. And we can blend the colors
together in a very nice way. So just add some
black and white color together and no need to
worry about the shade. You might not get the exact
shade that I have created, but there can be a
little bit change. Now, we are going to
create a darker tone, which is going to
be near to black. You can add some
amount of white in it. So you can see the
difference between the bottom gray shade and
the above dark abortion. Now simply clean your
size four flat brush, dry it up and just
blend mode the colors. So you just have to observe the direction of my flat brush. And I have just made a
nice gradient effect. So just have to
make your brush dry without any color and
blend mode the colors. So this is how we have created a beautiful gradient effect. Let it dry for awhile. Now let us start
painting the Boats. I'm using my round
brush, size four. You can also call it
as a retailing brush. And we are going to use the
tip of the brush and I'm starting to paint the boat
from the top portion. So initially we are going to
create a triangular shape, which is basically the
huge clot that modes generally have from which the
winds move the entire boat. I have created a small
triangular shape and we are going to create the body of the boat on the bottom portion. So just have to
create the outline initially and then you can
fill in black color inside. To make the board look
a little bit more realistic and in detail we are going to create two strokes
which are going to be some ropes that will make devote a little
bit more attractive. So simply use the tip
of your detailing brush and create these
little two strokes. From the top portion
of the triangle tool, the entire board body. So you can see how easy
and simple it is incase, you're not that much
confident enough to paint the board directly
onto the background. What you can do is you can
take a rough strip of paper, practice it, and then you can come towards
your final painting. Now, since the entire water body is going to be on
the bottom portion, we are going to create a
beautiful reflection effect. So you just have to make these
little horizontal strokes. And as you come towards
the bottom portion, does decrease the size of the struggles
that we are making. Now. Similarly, we are going to paint another boat which
is going to be a little bit bigger in size. The steps and method
is absolutely same. You can just use the tip
of your round brush. You can create an outline
also even incase you want to do that and then you can fill in solid black
color inside. But since this boat is
a little bit bigger, so you have to make sure that it is bigger in size as well. I have created the
triangular shape, fill in solid black
color inside. And now we'll be painting
the body of the boat, which is going to be
on the bottom portion. You can see how I'm
using the tip of my retailing brush to
fill in difficult areas. Incase you find that the color
on your brush is drying. So you can just add
some amount of water in the color palette and then
you can lose him the cholera. I'll be adding the details
to the entire boat, creating these
little two strokes. And you can also make some horizontal strokes
onto the rope. Now similarly, we'll be painting the reflection effect
for this board as well. So you have to make these little horizontal strokes which are going to be
bigger near the boat. And as we come towards
the bottom portion, you have to decrease the size of the strokes that
you are making. Make sure that you have very less amount of water in
your brush and more color. And make sure that the brushes a little
bit dry as well so that you can create a
nice reflection effect. We are done with both the Boats. Now, let us add some rock
bodies to the water body so that the Painting can look a little bit more
attractive and aesthetic. So the method is
absolutely same and you have to just simply create
a beautiful outline. And you can play with the shapes of the wrong bodies as well. So just create the outline first and then you can fill in
solid black color inside. One thing I would like to
tell you is that since rock bodies and Mountains generally have a
very natural shape, so it does not at all necessary
that you try to create the composition and painted the exact same way
I have painted. You can create your own style of composition and the position
of robotics as well. I have created a
bigger rock body on the bottom-left corner, and some smaller rock bodies
just above that as well. Let us have some rock bodies on the right-hand side as well. I have created a simple horizon
line and I'll be placing the outline first and then I'm filling in
solid black color. Now while you're
doing this step, no need to hurry at all. Take your time and painted in a very slow
and steady manner. Also incase you find it a
little bit difficult to create the composition of
the rock bodies and to paint it directly
to the background. What you can do is you can
take your rough scrap of paper or an odd journal on which you practice
on a regular basis. You can practice
it on that first and then you can come
towards your final painting. Now the way we painted
reflection for both the Boats, we are going to
create the reflection for the rock bodies as well. So that it can look
a little bit more realistic and a little
bit more in-depth. So you can observe that I'm making these horizontal strokes which are bigger nearer
to the rock bodies. And as we move towards
the bottom portion, we are just decreasing the size of the strokes
that we are making. So while doing
this, we are having very less amount of
water in the brush so that we can get a nice
textured reflection effect. Now I'll be taking my round
brush size four again, just cleaning it up with water. And we'll be taking
some solid white color. And I have just
painted a small moon. On the right-hand side. You can decide the position
of your moon as well. It is absolutely fine. It is not at all
necessarily that you painted where I have painted. Now once you have decided
the position and painted the moon by creating a small circle with
solid white color. We are also going to create its reflection effect
onto the water body. So the steps and the
method is absolutely same, but instead of black color, we are having white color. So we are making
these horizontal strokes near to the moon. We are having bigger
horizontal strokes. And as we move towards
the bottom portion, we are going to decrease the size of the
reflection effect. Now we can enhance the
rock bodies also since the moon light is falling
on the entire painting. So we're just adding these little
horizontal strokes of the white color near
to the bigger boat, near to the rock bodies as well. So this particular step
generally takes some time, so you have to paint it in a
very slow and steady manner. Also make sure that you
have very less amount of water and more
color into your brush. And you have to observe the movement of the brush as well. So not only to apply a lot
of pressure onto your brush, just keep it very
light and simple. So you can observe
that I'm adding the white strokes near
the rock bodies on the left-hand portion as when we are almost done
with the entire painting. Now, let us remove
the masking tape. And this is the most
favorite part of mine. And as you can observe
that we have got a very nice white border once
we remove the masking tape. So one thing that you
can keep in mind while removing the masking
tape is that tried to remove the masking
tape and an angle so that you do not end up tearing
your beautiful painting. Now I'll be removing the last
tape as when we are done. As you're going to observe,
the entire painting is ready. Let me take you a little
bit closer so that you can observe all
the details carefully. I hope that you enjoyed this particular painting
and got to learn something. Now, let us move towards
the next Painting.
7. Project 4 - Rocky Mountains: Hey everybody, you are most welcome to the fourth Painting, which is Rocky Mountains. And as you can observe, we are going to have
very minimal elements and we are going to create
a beautiful painting. My watercolor paper is ready
with the masking tape. We are going to
apply a ten god of water using a
one-inch flat brush. Incase, you do not
have a 1 " flat brush. You can use your size
four flat brush as well that you can observe
and my color palette. And we are going to use
some black and white together and create a
beautiful shade of gray. No need to worry at all
in case you do not get the exact shade of gray that
I'm creating right now, it is absolutely fine. There might be some difference. Make sure that you have
minimum amount of water and more color since we have already applied a
thin coat of water. And this is basically known
as wet on wet technique. That we can move our brush
in a very smooth way. Now will be taking
some dark black color on the upper portion. Since we want to create a
beautiful gradient effect, you can already observe the difference between
both the colors, the gray shade that we have
painted on the bottom portion and the black color that we have applied on
the upper portion. That is a thin line
of separation. Now simply clean your flat brush and make it dry completely
and you just have to move it on the line
of separation and this horizontal
direction to blend both the colors in
a very nice way and let it dry for awhile. Now once the color
will be dried, you can observe the
beautiful gradient effect. Now we are going to use our detailing brush
size four digits, basically a round brush only to create some beautiful mountains. You can observe
that I started to paint it from the
left-hand portion, creating a beautiful outline. And we are going
to have some gap in-between the mountain as well. So you can observe that I have given the outline
of that as well. Now once we have painted
the entire outline, we have to fill in
solid black color inside and only to hurry at all, painted in a very slow and
steady manner. Take your time. Also, one more thing that I would like to tell you is that Mountains and drop bodies generally have a
very natural shape. So you can create your own
natural shape as well. And you can add on in the outer area as well by
using some solid black color. You can change the
decomposition of the mountain and the
position as well. You can observe the
movement of my round brush. I'm trying to make the
vertical strokes to fill in solid black color so that it can look very evenly
once it dries up. Now onto the bottom portion, just try to have a
simple horizontal line. We are done painting
the first mountain, having some gap in-between. Let us paint another mountain. And again, it is going to have a very natural shape. Only. The steps and method
is absolutely same. You can create the
outline fast and simply. You can fill in solid
black color inside. Make sure that there isn't any space left between
the masking tape and the black color that
we have applied right now onboard the
right and left side. Now, we have painted both
the mountain bodies. We can create a beautiful
reflection effect of it onto the water body. So the steps of doing this
is that you have to make these little horizontal
strokes which are going to be bigger
near to the mountain. And as we move towards
the bottom portion, you have to decrease the size of the reflection effect that
we are creating right now. So try to have very
less amount of water in your detailing brush and more color and just observe
the movement of the brush. This is basically a step
where you will need a lot of patients and try to paint it in a very slow
and steady manner. Try to create the reflection
effect as much as realistic as possible by applying
maximum amount of strokes. And you can also play
with the strokes as well. So you can see, I'm
trying to create some nice depth below the
entire mountain body, which is a little
bit bigger in size. Now similarly, we'll be creating the reflection effect for the second mountain
body as well. So I'm trying to apply
the horizontal strokes, which are going to
be a little bit bigger near to the
entire mountain body. And as we are going to move
towards the bottom portion, I'll be just decreasing the size of the strokes
that I'm making right now. Now in case you will find it a little bit
difficult to paint it directly onto your
gradient background and you do not want to spoil it. What you can do is
you can just simply take our simple wraps
paper of paper. Or you're practicing our
journal in which you practice. You can paint the Mountains. You can decide the composition, you can decide the
position as well. And then you can come towards your final painting
after practicing. Now by doing this,
the chances of making mistakes will
decrease a lot. So you can simply do that. You can observe
that I have created some beautiful reflection effect onto the second
mountain body as well. Now to make the painting
look a little bit more attractive and have some
more minimal elements to it. I'm trying to have
some rogue bodies onto the water body as well. So just simply give a nice
outline to the wrong body and create the same
reflection effect that we have created for the
bigger Mountains as well. So as I told you
that Mountains and rock bodies generally will be having a very natural shape. You can create your own
natural shapes as well. And you can also
change the position of the rock bodies
incase you wanted to. Now, applying the
reflection effect, the step is absolutely seen. Try to apply some horizontal
strokes and just below it. And as you move
towards the bottom, potion just increase the size of the strokes that
you are making. To make the painting look a
little bit more attractive. I'm trying to add some
more rock bodies on to the left hand bottom corner and some more rock
bodies just above it. You can create your own
rock bodies as well. Similarly, we'll be adding one more round body onto the
right-hand bottom corner. Make sure that there
isn't any space left between the
masking tape and the watercolor
paper that will not look nice when we remove
the masking tape. We are almost done painting all the elements in
the entire painting. Now will be Painting
beautiful moon. So just use your round
brush of size bowl. Clean it up in water, take some solid white color
and you just have to paint a small circle in-between the
Mountains in the sky area. Now, that is also up
to you in case you want to change the
position of the moon. That also you can do according
to your convenience. Now, I'll be adding the
reflection of the moon onto the water body so that the painting will look a
little bit more attractive. The steps are absolutely same, but instead of black color,
we are having white. This time. We have increased the size of the horizontal strokes
near to the moon. And as we move towards
the bottom portion, you can just decrease the
size of the reflection. You can also just make
little strokes near the mountain area to enhance both the Mountains and make it look a little
bit more realistic. By adding these
little white strokes. You could just have to use
the tip of the brush to create these little
thin white strokes. Now comes the most
favorite part of mine, which is removing
the masking tape. While removing the masking tape, make sure that you will
remove the masking tape and an angle so that you do not end up tearing your
beautiful Painting. Also make sure that you remove the masking
tape one-by-one. You can already observe the beautiful white
borders that we get once we remove
the masking tape. And we're left
with the last one. Let me remove the last
masking tape as well. And we are done with
the entire painting. You can observe by using minimal elements we have created
this beautiful painting. Let me take you a
little bit closer so that you can
observe the details. I hope that you enjoyed this particular painting and
got to learn something new. Now let us move towards
the next Painting.
8. Project 5 - Country House: Hey everybody, you are most welcome to the fifth Painting, which is a Country House. So again, for this
particular Painting, also, we are going to just combine some minimal elements and
create a beautiful painting. I'm using my 1 "
flat brush to apply a ten coat of water to the
entire watercolor paper. Make sure that there isn't
any space left between the masking tape and the
watercolor paper incase, you do not have a
1 " flat brush. You can use your size
four flat brush as well. So now will be just repeating the same step by making
a beautiful gray shade, by mixing black and
white together. And we are going to
apply this color on the bottom portion of the
entire watercolor paper. So by using this
particular gray shade, I'm going to cover half
of the watercolor paper. And on the abortion
we are going to take some dark tone of black color. Since we want to create a
beautiful gradient effect, you can observe the
movement of my flat brush. It's a simple
horizontal movement. Makes sure that there
isn't any space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. You can see the line of difference between
both the colors. Now simply take your
size four flat brush, clean it up in water, make it dry, and blend
both the colors together. You can move towards the
about potions slowly as well. And you can see
how beautiful Bode the colors are looking
once they are blended. Now we'll wait for the
entire background to dry. Now once the entire
background is dry, I'm going to use my
round brush size four and we are going to create a beautiful
landscape area, which is a little bit higher on the left-hand
portion and a little bit lower on the
right-hand portion. Once you have painted
the entire outline, we are going to fill in
solid black color inside. You can also play
with the outline. You can create your
own natural shape for the landscape as well. Once the outline is done, you can just simply filled
solid black color inside. So try to have maximum amount of hello and you're
detailing brush and less water so that you can get a nice saturated black
color once it dries up. Also make sure that there
isn't any space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. That will not look nice when
we remove the masking tape. So as you can observe,
we are done with the entire landscape
area that we have painted on the
bottom portion. Now let us start with
the first element, which is the Country House
on the left-hand portion. So the Landscape
area is a little bit higher on this particular area. So to paint this
particular house, we're starting with the rule. We are going to use the
round brush size four. And I'm using the tip of my
brush to paint the roof. The rule for is a
little bit smaller on the left-hand portion and a little bit bigger on
the right-hand side, since it is having
some details in it. Now you can just simply draw a vertical line to
paint the walls. And we can just move towards the right area by filling in
solid black color inside. No need to hurry at all. Try to paint it in a very
slow and steady manner. We are going to have a nice door on the right-hand portion. So we are leaving the
space in between. And you can create a
beautiful curvature on the top portion. You can use the tip of the round brush to paint
in the difficult areas. And also no need
to hurry at all. Just take your time and paint it in a very slow
and steady manner. Now will be just adding
some shrubs near the house. So using the same
detailing brush, I'm just leaving these
little strokes near the house so that we can add some details to
the entire painting. Similarly, we'll be adding
some little shrubs on the left-hand portion
as well near the house. Incase, you're not
that much confident enough to painted directly
to the final painting. What you can do is
you can practice it on a rough scrape
off paper initially. And then you can come
towards your final painting. I'm trying to add a bigger shrub on the right-hand portion, which is just me oh, by the masking tape to
make sure that there isn't any space left between the masking tape and
the watercolor paper. Now once the outline is done, you can just simply add some
solid black color inside. We are adding two
little chimneys on the roof of the entire house. Just make these little two vertical lines a
little bit thicker. Use the tip of your
detailing brush so that you can paint it nicely. I'm just adding a little bit of frame to the dough that
we left initially. Now we are going to create
a beautiful bridge, which is going to be there on the niche that
we have created. On the right-hand portion, the Landscape area, which is basically a little bit lower. I have just simply drawn
a horizontal line. And you can make it a
little bit thicker. Once we're done with
the horizontal line, we are going to add some
vertical lines which are going to act as pillows
for the entire bridge. Make sure that each and every
vertical line that we are Painting are parallel to each other so that it can
look aesthetically nice. And I'm trying to make it a little bit
thicker also so you can apply a little bit of pressure on your
detailing brush. Incase you find that your lines
are a little bit thinner. You can add one mode stroke to the vertical lines to make it look a little bit more taker Now once we're done with
the vertical lines, we are going to add one more horizontal line
on the top portion. Now this time, make sure that this horizontal line is parallel to the first
one that we painted. And it is a little bit
thinner than the first one. Now, using the same
detailing brush size four, take some solid
white color in it, and we are going to
paint a beautiful window in the entire Country House. We are also going to
enhance the chimneys by adding two little
vertical lines in it. And the force to window
that we have left, which is basically acting
as a door as well. To just have to
enhance by adding these little vertical lines
on any the sides you want to. That is absolutely fine. You can take your call to make the bridge look
even more attractive. I'm adding these little
white lines to it. And you can observe
that it is creating a beautiful contrast
with the background. Also, it enhances
the entire bridge. I'll be taking some more solid white and my detailing brush. And we are going to paint a beautiful morning
just about the bridge. So I'm trying to have the
moon on the center portion of the bridge a little bit
above from the bridge as well. You can decide the
position of the moon according to your
convenience as well. It is not at all
necessary that you paint it in the exact same
way I'm painting. We are also going to and
Landscape area by adding these little strokes using
the detailing brush. Just simply use the
tip of the brush. Now using the same
detailing brush, I'm taking some
black color again. And we are going to draw one vertical line and a
simple horizontal line. Two lines basically act as the frame for
the entire window. And the step is really
easy and simple, just painted in a very
slow and steady manner. Use the tip of your
detailing brush and apply minimum pressure so that you can get a
very nice thin line. Now I'll be taking some more solid black color and
my color palette, as you can observe,
I'll be adding some amount of water so that the color can
lose a little bit. And we are going to paint some beautiful birds into the sky. No need to worry at all. The step is very easy. You just have to use the tip of your detailing brush and create
this reshaped in the sky. Try to have the shape a little bit thicker on these
anti-abortion. And as you paint the wings, just to make it very thin, it will take a lot
of patients and you have to paint it in a
very slow and steady manner. Take your diamond painted in
case you're not that much confident enough to painted directly to the final painting. What you can do is you can
practice it on a raft, scrape off paper, and then you can come towards
your final painting. So we are done. We then dive painting and you can
see how beautifully we have combine minimal elements and created a
beautiful landscape. Now comes the most
favorite part, which is removing
the masking tape. Tried to remove the masking
tape in an angle so that you do not end up tearing
your beautiful painting. You can already observe
the beautiful white border that we get once we remove
the entire masking tape. And you can observe
the final output once we have removed
the masking tape. Let me take you a little
bit closer so that you can observe the details
for the entire painting. I hope that you enjoyed painting this particular painting
and got to learn something. Now let us move towards
the next Painting.
9. Project 6 - The Dense Lake: Hey everybody are most welcome
to the sixth Painting, which is The Dense Lake, says you can observe
my watercolor paper is ready with the masking tape. I'll be using my
one-inch flat brush to apply a thin coat of water initially and make
sure that there isn't any space left between the masking tape and
the watercolor paper. Incase, you do not
have 1 " flat brush. You can use your
size four flat brush as well to apply the
ten coat off water. As you can observe
in my color palette, the step is absolutely seemed to create the
gradient background. You have to apply
a nice shade of gray mixing black
and white together, applied in the half portion of the entire watercolor paper. Make sure that there
isn't any space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. You can observe the direction
of the flat brush as well. It's as simple
horizontal movement, tried to have less amount
of water and more color. Now we will be simply taking some darker shade of black
on the upper portion. The method is absolutely same. Just make the
horizontal directions. Now simply take your
size four flat brush, clean it up and water. Make it dry using
your Tissue paper. And just applied on the line of separation between
the black and gray shade. And simply let the
entire background right. Now you can observe the entire
gradient effect carefully. Now once then died,
background is dry. We are going to create a
simple horizon line which is going to separate the
water body and this guy area. Now just above the horizon line, they are going to have
some beautiful trees which are very bushy. So you have to use
your round brush size four and simply make some little strokes
on the outer area, which is going to create the
entire shape of the tree. And you can observe
that I'm just making these thin strokes in
random directions, creating a beautiful
natural shape of a tree. Now once you're done with
the entire outline area, we are going to fill
solid black color inside. You just have to leave the
strokes on the outer portion. No need to hurry at all. Try to paint it in a very
slow and steady manner. Make sure that there isn't
any space left between the masking tape and the false
tree that we have painted. Now similarly, we
are going to create some more trees which
are very bushy. But as we move towards
the left hand portion, we are going to
decrease the size of the trees that we
are painting right now. Incase, you want to create your own composition
of the Trees. And you can play with size
and position of the Trees. That is also absolutely fine. It is not at all necessary
that you paint it in the exact same
way I'm painting. Now you can observe that as I'm moving towards the
left-hand portion, I'm trying to decrease
the size of the trees. Now. I'll be painting the
very small tree. Then we are going to have
these smallest tree. So this is how we are going to create a beautiful perspective. Now slowly we are
going to increase the size of the trees that
I'm painting right now. These steps to paint the
entire tree is going to be exactly same the way we
painted the Trees initially. Incase, you're not that
much confident enough to paint the trees directly
to your final painting. And you do not want to spoil
the entire background. What you can do is you
can practice it on a lab, scrape off paper initially, and then you can come
towards your final painting. As you can observe, that
we are done painting all the trees just
above the horizon line, makes sure that there
isn't any space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. Now to create some depth and details to the
entire water body, what we are going to do is
that we are going to create some beautiful reflection effect of the Trees into
the water body. Now, according to the size
of the trees that you're observing just above
the horizon line. They are going to create
the reflection effect. Now near to the Trees, you have to create these
little horizontal lines. And as we move towards
the bottom portion, we are going to decrease the size of the
horizontal strokes that we are making according
to the size of the tree. Tried to have these
horizontal strokes. As you can observe, this
is how we are going to create variation in the
reflection effect as well. Make sure that you do not have access amount of water
in your detailing brush. Try to have more color
so that you can create these rough horizontal
strokes incase, you will find that your
brushes very much dry. Then you can add some amount of water into the color palette. You can also observe
the difference in the reflection effect
that we have painted. There is variation in
reflection effect as well. You can see the bigger reflection
effect and the smaller one according to the size of the trees that
we have painted. So we are almost done painting the entire reflection
effect as well. And make sure that you do this particular step in a
very slow and steady manner. No need to hurry at all. Now we are going to add
some beautiful lotus leaves onto the water body. So these leaves are also going
to have some variation in sizes so that we can create a
beautiful depth and detail. I'll be using my round
brush size four. And you can observe that
I'm using the tip of the round brush to create
these oval shapes. Having some distorted shape, basically not an
exact oval-shaped. So there is a cut in-between. You can just paint it
in are smaller and bigger size according
to your convenience. You can also create
your own composition of the leaves together as well. Just make sure that the
leaves are very much flat and you create some good
variation in sizes. Also, no need to hurry
while doing this. You can just take your time. Painted in a very slow
and steady manner. I'm just increasing the
size of the leaves on the right-hand bottom
portion as well. Also incase, you
find it a little bit difficult to paint directly
to the final painting. What you can do is
you can practice it on a rough scrape
off paper initially, and then you can come
towards your final painting. By doing this, the chances of making mistakes
will be very less. Also, you can just simply create your own composition
of the leaves and you can do radiation
and sizes as well. So we are done painting the
leaves on the bottom portion. Now let us add some very
tiny and smaller leaves on the about portion, which is just below
the horizon line. So the steps and matter
are absolutely same. You just have to create these little oval shapes using the tip of your
detailing brush, having solid black color inside. Now using the same
detailing brush, try to have some solid white
color inside and paint a small circle just above the smallest
tree that we painted. So this is how you have to
paint a moon and you can decide its position according to your convenience as well. I have painted it just above the smallest tree
that we painted. Now we're going to add the reflection effect
of the entire moon onto the water body so that the painting looks a
little bit more aesthetic. So the technique is
absolutely same. The reflection effect that
we painted for the trees, but this time we are
using white color. So just simply make
horizontal strokes. And these strokes are a little bit bigger near
the horizon line. And as we move towards
the bottom portion, we are going to decrease the size of the
reflection effect. To decrease the size of the horizontal strokes
that you are making. No need to hurry at all. Try to paint it in a very
slow and steady manner. So we are done with
the entire painting. Now comes the last step, which is removing
the masking tape. And which is a very
satisfying step as well. So try to remove the masking
tape and an angle so that you do not end up tearing
your beautiful painting. You can already observe the beautiful white
border that we get once we remove
the masking tape. You can observe how
beautifully we have combine some minimal elements and
created a beautiful painting. Let me take you a little
bit closer so that you can observe all
the details carefully. I hope that you enjoyed this particular painting and
got to learn something new. Now let us move towards
the next Painting.
10. Project 7 - Forest Road: Hey everybody are most welcome
to the seventh Painting, which is a Forest Road. Basically. You can observe, I'm ready with my watercolor paper
with the masking tape. I'm using my 1 " flat brush to apply a thin coat
of water initially, make sure that there
isn't any space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. Incase, you do not have
a one-inch flat brush. You can simply use your size
four flat brush as well. Now you can observe
in my color palette, I have taken a nice
shade of gray, mixing black and
white color together. No need to worry at all. Incase you do not
get the exact shape. It is absolutely fine. There might be a little
bit of difference. Now, on the upper portion, we are going to apply
some solid black color. So you have to just
observe the color palette. I'm taking a darker
tone of black, add some amount of water and
more color since we have already applied a thin coat of water onto the watercolor paper, no need to have more amount
of water in your brush. It will automatically
move in a smooth way. You can see the
line of difference. Now we are going to
blend both the colors. Just simply clean
your flat brush, dry it on the Tissue paper, and just make these horizontal strokes
blending mode the colors. Let the background right. Once the background is dry, we are going to paint
the landscape area. So now I'll be using
my round brush off stifle and I'm using the tip of the brush to paint
the outline for the Landscape area.
You can observe. We have just kept a slope on the right-hand bottom corner and we are going to fill
in solid black color. No need to hurry at all. Try to observe the
movement of my brush. I'm just making these
little vertical strokes, having good amount of color
in it and less water, make sure that there isn't
any space left in-between. So we are almost done applying the solid black color inside
the Landscape portion. You can use the tip of your detailing brush to paint
in the difficult areas. Also, it does not
at all necessary, all compulsory to paint the landscape area the exact
same way I have painted, you can create your
own composition and position of
the road as well. Now using the same round brush, we have created some
more Landscape area on the right-hand bottom corner. Now let us paint
the first element, which is going to
be a simple house. So I'll be using my
round brush size four. I have some solid
black color in it. You can see that I'm
using the tip of the brush to create
the outline initially. So we're starting with
the roof portion. Once the entire outline is done, we have to fill in solid
black color inside. And you can just observe the movement of my
detailing brush. Try to blend it
with Landscape area so that disallowed
can look complete. So as you can observe in gotten beautiful shape
for the entire house, we are going to add
a little shrub just on the right-hand
portion of the house. Just make these little strokes. I'm also going to add
a little chimney on the roof so that the House can look a little
bit more attractive. Now on the remaining portion of the entire landscape area, we are going to create
some beautiful trees, which are going to
have different sizes. And we are going to create
a beautiful composition. The steps to paint the entire
Trees very easy and simple. You just have to create
little strokes on the top portion
and you just have to apply to vertical strokes, creating a nice mask
for the entire tree. You can create your
own composition for the trees as well. So there can be combination
of two trees together, one single tree, then
again two trees together. So that means you can create your own composition
of the entire coldest. Now incase, you find
it difficult to paint it directly to
the final painting. And you do not want to spoil your beautiful
gradient background. What you can do is you
can practice it on a rough scrape off paper
or an Art Journal. And then you can come
towards your final painting. So by doing this, you can just minimize the chances
of making mistakes. You're going to observe
the variation of the sizes and the length of the tree
that I'm creating right now. I'm also trying to have some gap in-between
the Trees as well. To add some little
details to then dietary. What you can do is
you can just leave these little strokes
on the outline of the entire tree so that the tree can look a
little bit more attractive. Now to paint the trunk, just simply use your round
brush and use it to create a small vertical line
which is going to be attached with the Landscape
area on the bottom portion. You can already observe that I'm almost done painting the trees. Let us add some more trees on the right-hand portion so that the painting looks a little
bit more attractive. I'm adding two more
Trees and a combination. The method and steps
are absolutely same. Also, you can create the
variation in the sizes, and you can also experiment
with the shapes as well. So we can paint one
more bigger tree. And the method is
absolutely same. You just have to leave
these little strokes. Strokes can be in any direction. You can keep it on the bottom portion as well and just simply
paint the tree trunk. Now we are going to
paint a beautiful moon. Just use your round
brush and paint a small circle and
between the trees, you can also decide the position according to your
convenience as well. Now to enhance the road, I'll be using the detailing
brush and applying these little thin strokes near the outline of
the entire Road. You can observe how
beautiful the entire Road looks and it gives a
nice contrasting effect. Ten hands, the chimney and
the outline of the house. You can create these little
strokes near them as well. Now we'll be painting
a small window in the entire house using
solid white color. Tried to create a
nice square shape. No need to hurry at all. Try to paint it in a very
slow and steady manner. Now to enhance the
entire landscape area, we are creating these
little white strokes on the top portion of the entire land so that
they can be a difference between the house area and
the Landscape portion. To make a beautiful frame, we are using some
solid black color, just make us simple
vertical line and a horizontal line in-between
the entire square. We are going to add some
shrubs on the top portion of the Landscape area so that it can look a little
bit more attractive. So just have to use the thin stroke of
your detailing brush. Just use the tip and add these little strokes
creating small shrubs. We are adding some more shrubs and between the trees as well. You have to paint it
any other tree trunk, make sure that it
doesn't merges with the entire tree that
we have painted. You can keep it on
the bottom portion. So now we are almost done with the entire painting to enhance the details
in the entire tree, what we are going to do is
that we are going to leave these little strokes on the
entire tree bush that we have painted so that it can look a little bit
more attractive with the beautiful gradient effect that we have painted
in the background. No need to hurry at all. Observe it very carefully. We are almost done with
the entire painting. Now comes the most
interesting part, which is removing
the masking tape. Try to remove your masking
tape and an angle so that you do not end up tearing
your beautiful painting. You can already observe the beautiful white
borders that we get once we remove the
entire masking tape. You can see how beautifully
we have just used some minimal elements and
created a nice painting. Let me take you a
little bit closer so that you can observe all
the details carefully. I hope that you enjoyed creating this particular painting
and got to learn something. Let it dry for a
while carefully. Now let us move towards
the next Painting.
11. Project 8 - The Pine Trees: Hey everybody, you are most welcome to the eighth painting, which is the pine trees. As you can observe, I'm ready
with my watercolor paper, with the masking tape. I'll be using my
one-inch flat brush to apply a thin coat of
water initially on it. Make sure that there
isn't any space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. So this is basically known
as a wet on wet technique on which we just apply a thin
coat of water initially. And then we will be applying the color so that the brush
can move in a smooth way. You can observe in
my color palette, I have created a nice shade of gray using some black and
white color together. Mix it well. It is not at all necessary that you get the exact shade that
I have created. There might be a little bit of difference and that
is absolutely fine. Now will be taking
the darker tone of black on the top portion. And you have to slowly move
towards the bottom potion. Applying these
horizontal strokes, you can clearly
observe a line of difference between the
black and gray shade. We are going to blend it to
make a nice gradient effect. Clean your flat
brush of size four, make it dry and just blend
the colors together. Now let the background
dry for a while. Once the entire
background is dry, you can observe the
gradient effect carefully. So now we are going to paint some beautiful pine trees in the entire
gradient background. Let me explain the entire steps. You have to just use your
round brush of size four. And we're going
to use the tip of the round brush to create
a simple vertical line. In case you're not that
much confident enough to paint the vertical line
directly from the brush. What you can do is you
can draw a line with pencil and then you can
use your painting brush. Now once you have
drawn the entire line, we are going to start creating these little strokes which are going to be very
rough and random, but they are going to
have variation in sizes. Start painting these strokes
from the top portion. And as we move towards
the bottom part, we are going to increase the size of the strokes
that we are making. It's a very easy and
simple technique to create a beautiful pine tree. You just need to practice
it a little bit. In case you're not that
much confident enough to paint the pine tree directly
to your final painting. What you can do is
you can practice it on a rough scribble
paper initially, and then you can come
towards your final painting. Now, I'm going to have
one more pine tree on the right hand portion
of the forest pine tree. But this time the
pine tree is going to be a little bit smaller
than the first one. So you have to
paint the vertical line a little bit smaller. And these steps are
absolutely same. You can observe we have painted
too beautiful pine trees. Now we're going to paint some more pine trees on
the left hand portion. But these pine
trees are going to be very smaller in size. So initially I'm going to create the vertical lines deciding the position of the pine trees. And as I said, you can draw the vertical lines using
your pencil as well. And then you can
use European brush. The steps are going to
be absolutely same. You can create your
own composition of the pine trees as well. You can decide the position according to your convenience. Now, I'll be making these
little strokes starting from the top portion and as I
move towards the bottom, but I'll just simply increase the size of the
strokes that I'm making. These are the simple
steps of creating some beautiful pine trees
for the entire painting. Now let us create some
beautiful reflection effect since these binaries
are on a water body. And we have some
little landscape in between the binary
and the water body. We are going to create some
dense reflection effect. It is a very simple step. You just have to create these
little horizontal strokes, which are going to be very
much dense near the pine tree. And as we move towards
the bottom potion, we're just going to decrease the size of the strokes
that we are making. Try to have very
less amount of water and more color in
your detailing brush. Let me remind you once again, it's around rush of size four. You can observe the movement
of my round brush as well. I'm not applying
too much pressure. Just make it very lightly
and try to practice it. Make sure that you do not
apply a lot of pressure that will give you
a solid black color in the reflection effect. And we don't want it
to be that much dense. In case you're not that much
confident enough or find it difficult to paint
the reflection effect directly to the final painting. And you do not want to
spoil your gradient effect. You can practice
it on a scrap of paper or on your art
journal initially, and then you can come
towards your final painting. This will help you a lot to minimize the chances
of making mistakes. So now I'll be adding
the horizontal strokes on the entire water body in
a random and natural way so that the water body looks
a little bit dense and it can give a nice
attractive effect to the entire water body. No need to hurry at all. Tried to apply these strokes in a very slow and
steady manner. You can also create
your own composition of these strokes as well. Now let us add some
little rock bodies in the water body so that the painting looks a little
bit more attractive. I'm just trying to add these little solid black patches having some natural shapes. As you all know,
that mountains and rock bodies generally have
a very natural shapes. So you can create the
outline initially. Then you can fill in some
solid black color inside. The process of getting the reflection effect is
going to be absolutely same. You have to create these
little horizontal strokes, which are going to be bigger
and near to the entire body. And as you move towards
the bottom portion, you can just simply decrease the size of the strokes
that you're making. Try to have less amount of water and more color
into your brush. Don't apply too much pressure just to make it very lightly. I'm also adding a little bit of rock bodies on the
right-hand portion as well. And you can add
some brown bodies in-between the binaries as well. On the bottom portion. Also, it is not at all
necessary to paint it in the exact same
way I have painted. You can create your
own composition and position of the pine trees
and the rock bodies as well. You can try to
experiment as well. Now, I'll be painting a
beautiful moon in the sky area. Just take your round
brush, size four, make a small circle
wherever you want to. I have just placed it
on the center portion. Now to add the reflection effect of the moon onto the water body, what we're going to do
is instead of black, we have taken some solid white
color in the round brush. And you have to make these
little horizontal strokes. Again, the method
is absolutely same. Near to the moon, you have to make bigger
horizontal strokes. And as you move towards
the bottom portion, you can just simply decrease the size of the
strokes that you're making. So the step is very
easy and simple. Just try to paint it in a
very slow and steady manner. Try to have some patients don't apply too much
pressure to the brush, just keep it very light. You can observe how beautiful the entire reflection effect looks for the entire painting. Now comes the last step, which is one of
my favorite step, which is removing
the masking tape. So try to remove the
masking tape and an angle so that you do not end up tearing your beautiful painting. You can already absorbed the beautiful white
borders that we get once we remove the
entire masking tape. So we are almost done removing the entire masking tape as well. Let me remove the last
masking tape as well. So you can observe how
beautifully we have just used some minimal elements and
created a elegant painting. Let me take you a
little bit closer so that you can observe all
the details carefully. I hope that you enjoyed painting this particular landscape
and got to learn something. Now let us move towards
the next painting.
12. Project 9 - Flock of Birds: Hey everybody are most welcome
to the ninth Painting, which is Flock of Birds. Size you can observe. I'm ready with my watercolor
paper and the masking tape. We are going to use
a 1 " flat brush to apply a thin coat
of water initially. And this is basically known
as the wet on wet technique, so that when we apply the color, your brush can move very smoothly. No need
to worry at all. In case you do not have
a one-inch flat brush, you can use your size
four flat brush as well. Now in my color palette, you can observe we are
making a nice shade of gray, mixing some black and
white color together. Try to have less amount of
water and more colors since we have already applied a
thin coat of water initially, you can simply observe the
movement of my flat brush. It's a simple
horizontal movement. Make sure that there
isn't any space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. Now we are going to
take a darker tone of black color you can observe
in my color palette. And similarly, we
are going to apply the horizontal strokes
on the top portion. Now to blend both the colors, just simply clean
your flat brush, make it dry on to
the Tissue paper, and just apply the
horizontal strokes in-between both the colors. So this is how you have
to blend both the colors. Now let the background
dry for awhile. Now we're going to start
with the first element, which is going to be
a beautiful branch. So I'm using my round
brush size four, having some solid
black color in it. And I'm using the
tip of the brush to create a beautiful
natural branch, a tree branch, basically, it is absolutely fine. You can create your own
natural shape also. So initially we are going to
start with a main branch, which is going to be
a little bit thicker. You can apply multiple strokes. Then we are going
to create these thin branches coming out of it. I'm using the tip of my detailing brush
as you can observe. Now once you move towards the end portion of
the entire branch, you have to just apply
the least pressure on the brush so that you can
create a nice thin line. Also, it is not at all
unnecessary or compulsory to paint the branch in the
same way I have painted, you can create your
own composition and shape of the branch as well. We can also add these
little brush strokes. We are almost done
painting the branch. Now let us add some small
leaves in the branch area. So we just have
to use the tip of your detailing brush and
create these little leaves. We are basically adding
this particular element to make the branch look a
little bit more attractive. They can be variation in the
sizes of the leaves as well. And you can add them
wherever you want to. But we're not going to
add too many leaves, just some amount of leaves that will look a little bit nice
with the gradient background. Also in case you're not that
much confident enough to paint the branch and the leads
directly to the painting. What you can do is
you can practice it on a raft strip
of paper initially. And then you can come
towards your final painting. Now, we're starting
with the first board, which is sitting on the branch to just take your
detailing brush, use the tip of your brush and just paint a small
circular shape, which is going to be
the head of the board. And you can add a thin stroke on the right-hand portion
to create its beak. Now using the tip of the brush, I'm going to create the
body of the entire board. So starting with
the outline first, just create the entire
shape of the body. And then you can fill in
solid black color inside. You can already
observe that we have created the upper body
of the entire board. And it is looking
really nice as well. This particular element might be a little bit tough to paint. It will take some time and patients to paint, no
need to worry at all. Incase you feel that it is a little bit difficult
or you're not that much confident enough to painted directly to the final painting. You can practice it on a
rough scrape off paper first and then you can come
towards your final painting. This will minimize the
chances of making mistakes. Now we're going to
paint the board, which is flying in the sky. The steps are absolutely same, but this time we
are going to have open wings, starting
with the head. As usual, we are going to create a beautiful circle shape. Add a little strokes
to create the beak. Then they are going to use the tip of the brush
to create the wings. Just simply add the
outline Forest. Now once we are done with
the outline of the wings, we are going to create
these little strokes, which are going to be
the feathers of the bud. This is basically a step there. You will need a lot
of patients and you have to paint it in a very
slow and steady manner. You can observe how beautifully
I'm trying to create these little thin strokes to create the feather
of the entire board. Now we're going
to create a steel which is going to be
on the back portion, just have to leave some little
strokes and the no motion. Now you can observe
that we are done with the entire
outline for the board. We are going to fill
in solid black color inside the cell
outlooks complete. No need to hurry at all. Try to paint it in a very
slow and steady manner. Make sure that there isn't
any space left between. Also can play with the shape and size of the board as well. You can create your
own composition of the branch and
boards together Now next up we have
another board which is going to be on the
right-hand portion. This time the board
is going to have both its wings in one direction. So again, we'll be starting
with the four-step, which is painting the head, creating a small
circular shape and a big coming out of it using the
tip of your detailing brush. Then we are going
to paint the wings, which are going to
be in one direction. Just have to create the outline and fill in solid
black color inside. Leave thin strokes from the ring so that the Fido's can
look more in detail. So you're going to observe
that we are done with all the three Birds and we have painted it in
a very nice way. There is a good composition between the branch
and the Boats. You can also create
your own composition. You can play with
the shape and sizes of the Birds and the
branch together. Now let me add some rogue
bodies on the bottom portion so that the painting
looks a little bit more complete and aesthetic. A very simple and
easy technique. You have to create an outline for the rock body
in the water body. And then you have to fill in
solid black color inside. Creating a beautiful sellout. You can create the
composition of the rocks also according
to your convenience, since rock bodies have
a very natural shape. And then we'll be adding
some nice reflection effect, which is going to be some horizontal strokes
near the wrong body, which are going to be
a little bit bigger. And as you move towards
the bottom portion, you can just decrease the size of these tools
that you are making. Let us add some more rogue
body which are going to be a little bit
smaller in size. Johnson below the words
that we have painted. No need to hurry at all. Try to paint it in a very
slow and steady manner. Also, you can practice it initially on a rough
scrape off paper, and then you can come
towards your final painting. We are done with the rock
bodies now let me take my round brush off size four and we are having some solid
white color in it. Just draw a simple circle
which is depicting the moon. You can decide the position according to your
convenience as well. I have just tried to take
it on the center portion. Now using the same
detailing brush, you have to make these
little thin strokes on the upper portion of the
branch, enhancing the details. Now using the same
detailing brush, we're going to create some
beautiful reflection effect onto the water body so that they can be a
difference between the water body and the sky area. We are using the
same white color, making some horizontal strokes which are bigger on
the top portion. As I move towards
the bottom part, I have just decreased the size of the stone that I'm making. So we are done with
the entire painting and now comes the most
favorite part of mine, which is removing
the masking tape. No need to hurry at all. Try to remove the masking
tape and an angle so that you do not end up tearing your beautiful painting. You can already
observe how beautiful the white borders look once you remove the
entire masking tape. Now let me remove the last
masking tape as well. So again, you can
observe that using minimal elements we have created a beautiful, elegant Painting. You can definitely
experiment with all the elements by creating your own composition as well. I hope that you enjoyed this particular painting and
got to learn something new. Now let us move towards
the next Painting.
13. Project 10 - Coconut Trees: Hey everybody, you are most welcome to the tenth Painting, which is Coconut Trees, which is the last painting
of this particular class. So I'm ready with
my watercolor paper with the masking tape. And I'm going to
apply a thin coat of water using my 1 " flat brush. This is basically known as
the wet on wet technique. In case you do not
have 1 " flat brush, you can use your size
four flat brush as well. Now we are going to
apply a gray shade on the bottom portion to create
a beautiful gradient effect. Try to mix black and white color together and create a
beautiful gray shade. Need to worry at all.
You might not get the exact shade that
I have created. It is absolutely fine. There might be some difference. Now we are going to apply our darker shade of black
on the top portion. Try to have less amount of water and more color
into your brush. Since we have already applied a thin coat of water initially, you can observe a line of difference between
both the colors. Now we are going to create a
beautiful gradient effect. Just simply clean
your flat brush and make it dry completely. And then you have to blend
both the colors together, creating a beautiful
gradient effect. Now once we have
applied the flat brush, which is completely dry
in-between both the colors. Let the background
dry for awhile. Now once then dial
background is try. We are going to start
with the fourth element, which is going to be
a big Coconut tree. On the left-hand portion, I'm using my round
brush size four. I have some solid
black color in it. And we have to create
these little thin strokes, which are going to be the leaves of the entire Coconut tree. So initially we are
deciding the position of the leaves which is
adding a main branch. No need to hurry at all. Just make sure that you paint it in a very slow and
steady manner. I'm trying to connect
all the branches together at the center point. And you can also
see that I've made the strokes a little bit
smaller on the bottom portion. Once you're done with
the main branches, we are going to add some
little thin strokes on the main grunge using the
same solid black color. Try to have less amount of water and more color into
your detailing brush. Use the tip of the brush to
create these little strokes. You just have to apply very less pressure and just
make these little strokes. And you can observe this
is how the coconut tree leaves looks generally awesome. One to hurry at
all, try to paint it in a very slow
and steady manner. Incase you are not that much
confident enough to paint the Coconut Trees leaves
directly to the final painting. What you can do is you can take a rough scrape off paper or
a practicing our journal. Practice the coconut
tree on that fourth and then you can come
towards your final painting. This will minimize the
chances of making mistakes. On the upper portion also, we are going to repeat the
same steps by applying these little thin strokes
connecting to the main branch. You can add variation in the
sizes of the leaves as well. So as you can observe,
we are almost done painting the
bigger Coconut tree. Now we are going to have
1 mol coconut tree, which is going to be just on
this side of the first one. And it is going to be a
little bit smaller in size, but the method and steps
are absolutely same. We are going to
create the branches. And then we'll be leaving
these little strokes aside. Since this particular tree is a little bit smaller in size, so you will need a lot of patients and you
have to paint it very slowly so that you do not end up spoiling
your painting. So we are done Painting
Buddha Coconut leaves. Now we are going to have a nice Landscape area just below it. I'll be using the same
detailing brush size four, which is basically
round brush only, have created a nice
outline for the Landscape. And you can create your
own composition as well. And we are going to fill some
solid black color inside. Now while painting the
solid black color inside, make sure that there
isn't any space left between the masking tape
and the watercolor paper. That will not look nice when
we remove the masking tape. Also tried to have more amount of color,
solid black color. You can observe that in
the color palette and less amount of water incase, you find that the brushes dry, then you can add some
amount of water in the color palette to lose
the solid black color. Now we are going to
have some rogue bodies on the top portion as well. So I'm just trying to
create a beautiful outline and then we are going to fill some solid black color inside. You're going to have
some nice variation between the rock bodies. So you can create a bigger
one and a smaller one. So you can have different sizes and you can also create your
own composition as well. Once we are done painting
the rock bodies, we are going to add some
nice reflection effect to it as well to create some
more depth and detail. Since the rock bodies are onto
a water body, that's fine. To do that, we are going to add some nice horizontal strokes
near to the rock body. Now these particular
strokes are going to be a little bit bigger
near to the rock body. And as you move towards
the bottom portion, you have to decrease the size of the strokes that
you are making. No need to hurry at
all. Try to make the strokes in a very
slow and steady manner. Make sure that you
have very less amount of water in your
brush and more color. We are almost done with
the rock bodies as well. Now let me take my round
brush size four again, clean it up and just take
some solid white color. We are going to paint a
beautiful moon near to the rock bodies on the
right-hand portion. You can also decide
the position of the moon according to
your convenience as well. You can experiment with
the shape and sizes also. Now to create its reflection
effect onto the water body. This time instead of black, we are having white color. So we are going to make these
little horizontal strokes. So start by making bigger horizontal strokes
near to the moon. And as you move towards
the bottom portion, you can simply
decrease the size. Then hands the Landscape area. I'm using the thin
detailing brush creating these little strokes onto
the rock body to enhance it, create a beautiful contrast. We are done with the
entire painting. Now comes the most
favorite part, which is removing
the masking tape. So try to remove the
masking tape and an angle so that you do not end up tearing your beautiful painting. You can already observe how beautiful the entire
white border looks. Once you remove the
entire masking tape. Make sure that you don't
this particular step in a very slow and careful way. Now let me remove the last
masking tape as well. And we're done. Here is the final output
of the entire painting. And you can observe
how beautifully we have used minimal elements. And we have combined
them together to create a beautiful
elegant Painting. So you can absorb on the left-hand bottom corner that while removing
the masking tape, I took out some
portion of the color. So this might happen even
if they tried to remove the masking tape
very slow and in a careful manner, but
no need to worry. Just take some solid
black color and you only dealing brush
and just cover the area up by applying a little thin stroke
near to the corner area. This is how you can cover
this particular portion. Now let me take you a little
bit closer so that you can observe all the details
of the entire painting. Let it dry completely. I hope that you enjoyed creating the last painting and
got to learn something
14. Class Conclusion: In order to create some beautiful landscapes
and seascapes, I came up with a glass which
needs minimal Art Supplies. And by combining
minimal elements, we have created some
beautiful paintings. Grading this class for all my dear students was a
great experience for me. And I made a lot of mistakes while creating all
the Class Projects. And that is something
I always tell my students do not get
afraid of making mistakes. As an artist, I always suggest my students to
maintain an arginine, to practice on a regular basis and keep a record
of your artwork. I would be really
excited to see all of your class projects into
the project gallery. Phaedo, ask any doubts or questions you have
related to the class. Let me know your
reviews for the class. As it encourages me alone. You can definitely
explore and create your own Landscapes and
Seascapes, paintings as well. Keep practicing
and happy painting
