1. Welcome to the Class: When we talk about urban sketching, it's an art style in which you do not have to worry about perfection. There are elements around you that you can observe carefully and convert it into a beautiful painting. In this class, we are going to paint ten beautiful urban silhouettes with an abstract watercolor background. Using a minimal color palette and easy techniques to paint. Hey, everybody, you're most welcome to my new class. My Self thick Patel. I'm a self taught independent artist and an interior designer by profession. I personally love to explore different art mediums and styles and not stick to one particular thing. So if you're joining me, you'll find a variety of classes that I create. We are going to start by understanding all the class projects in detail. There are going to be ten beautiful paintings having ten different urban elements with a nice abstract watercolor background. We're going to study about all the art supplies that you will need for the entire class. No need to worry at all in case you're missing out on any particular art supply, you'll find it very easily in any nearby local art store. We are going to understand the color palette in detail so that you can get an exact idea of how we are going to create a beautiful abstract background. We're going to have a simple practice session in which I'll be teaching you how you can apply a solid black ink to create a urban element and how to add details. So the first step is to create an abstract background using a wet on wet technique using watercolors. The second step is to add a beautiful solid black urban element. And the last step is to add minute details using a simple white pen. We're going to add some simple text to the entire painting. Using three simple and easy steps, we are going to create ten beautiful paintings based on urban sketching. The practice sheet will help you a lot to develop confidence while painting. It's a combination of urban silhouettes and abstract watercolor background. The class is absolutely suited for beginners and also intermediate and advanced level artists can try it. So without any delay, grab your art supplies, and join me on this creative journey. Okay. 2. Details About the Class Projects: Hey, buddy. Before we start with the class, let me give you all the details about the ten paintings that we are going to create. No need to worry at all. The paintings are very easy and simple to create. Also, no need to worry about painting it in the exact same way I'm painting. So you don't have to worry about the output. Just enjoy the entire process of creating and you will definitely learn a lot from the entire course. Observe all the details carefully so that you can get an exact idea of all the ten paintings that we are going to create. Now, let me take you towards the paintings. Okay. So right in front of you, I have my sketchbook of size A six in which I practice on a regular basis. I have created all the ten paintings in this particular sketchbook only, and then I have removed the papers. Let me show you the front page of the sketchbook as well, so you can observe it's an A six size sketchbook. And the pages are one 50 GSM. In case you do not have an A six size sketchbook, it is completely fine. You can experiment with the size of the paper. You can simply follow the painting style, so the size of the paper will not matter at all. So let me show you one of the class project. If you observe carefully, the project is having a beautiful green abstract background. Then there is these beautiful bushes that I have created on the left hand side, a beautiful urban element that is completely solid black, and I have added details using my white pen. Similarly, I have another class project. So there's a combination of deep green and light green in the background that we have created using a wet on wet technique using watercolors. If you observe carefully, there is a contrast between all the elements. There is the background, then there is the solid black urban element and the white details that we are going to create using solid white pen. Okay. The only thing that is changing is the sellout of the urban element that we're going to create and the details that we are going to create using white pen. The best part about all the ten paintings is that once we create the abstract background, we're going to create the outline using a solid black pen, and then we are going to fill in solid black color in the entire portion. Once we are done painting the entire solid black color, we're going to add minute details using solid white pen. So these are five of the class projects, which is going to have green abstract background. Now we have five more class projects, which is having a beautiful blue and purple background. So for blue, I'll be using ultramarine, and there's going to be a simple purple color that we're going to apply simultaneously. So we'll be creating a beautiful abstract background using these two colors, and the remaining steps are absolutely seen. We're going to create a beautiful, solid urban black element, and I'll be adding these little minute details using a solid white pen. You can observe a little text also that we're going to create to add some aesthetics to the entire painting. Now, in all the ten class projects, you are free to explore with the color palette. You can use a different color palette as well. You can simply follow the steps and create the entire painting. It is completely fine. Let me show you the last class project as well. You can observe some minute, beautiful details here. These are all the ten paintings that we are going to create for the entire class. I hope that you got an exact idea of the class projects. Now let us move towards the next part. 3. Art Supplies: Hey, everybody, before we start with the class, let me give you all the details about the art supplies that we are going to use for the entire class. No need to worry at all. In case you are missing out on any particular art supply, you'll find it very easily in any nearby local art store or you can go for any other good alternative as well. So as you can observe, I have placed all my art supplies in a systematic manner so that I can give you all the details carefully. So the first art supply is a simple tissue paper that we're going to keep nearby so that we can remove excess amount of water from the brush whenever required. Then I'll show you my color palette. It is having multiple colors in it, but no need to worry about that. We're only going to use four colors from this particular color palette In case you want to use a simple color palette and take out the colors directly from your color tube, it is completely fine. Just make sure that you have enough mixing space. Now, let me give you the details of the watercolors that we are going to use. There are going to be four basic colors that you will need. The first one is deep green, then we have light green, purple, and ultramarine. These are the four colors that I'm going to use. In case you want to experiment with the color palette, it is completely fine. You can create your own combination of the colors. You can experiment with the abstract background. So for the abstract background, we're going to create a combination of two colors together. Then I have my next art supply, which is a simple spray bottle to loosen the color up from the color palette. In case you do not have a spray bottle, you can take the water directly from your container. It is completely fine. Then we have the next art supply, which is a simple pencil that we might use to create any rough sketch wherever required. Then comes the next art supply, which is a simple black pen. So you can observe the tip of the black pen. It's a very thin tip, so we're going to use to create some random strokes in the entire painting. Then we're going to use a simple solid white pen. You can observe that it is having a solid white color in it and a thin tip that we're going to use to add minute details to the entire urban element. Then next up, I have a simple Cligraphy pen. It is again a simple solid black pen only, but it is having a little bit thick tip than the first black pen that I showed you. You can use any other good alternative as well. This is basically a caligraphy pen. Then I have my last marker, which is a thick solid black marker that we're going to use to apply solid black color in the entire urban element. You can observe the tip of the solid black marker. It will help us a lot to apply the solid black color in the entire urban element. Now, let me show you two of our class projects so that you can get an exact idea of the paper size. So this is basically a white paper of A six size, and you can observe two of our class projects carefully. So let me give you the detail of the sketchbook. It's a simple A six size sketchbook having one 50 GSM. In case you do not have an A six size sketchbook or a paper, you can use a different size paper. Just make sure that it is of a good quality, and it has one 50 GSM in it. I have suparated all the ten class projects by removing the paper. In case you want to keep the paintings in the sketchbook only, it is completely fine, and in case you want to keep the paper separate, that is also absolutely fine. So I hope that you got an exact idea of the paper on which we are going to create all the ten class projects. Now, let us talk about the next art supply, which is a simple quill brush of size two. In case you do not have a quill brush, you can definitely use a round brush as well. The best part about the class is that you will need a single brush to create this beautiful abstract background. I'll be showing you the round brush as well. In case you do not have a quill brush, you can use a round brush off size eight. Okay. Then comes the next art supply, which is a simple glass container in which we are going to have some clear water so that we can clean the brushes and use water wherever required in the entire class. These are all the art supplies that you will need for the entire class. No need to worry at all. In case you're missing out on any particular art supply, you'll find it very easily in any nearby local art store or you can go for any other good alternative as well. Now let us move towards the next part. 4. Color Palette: Okay. Hey, everybody, now, let us understand the color palette that we're going to use. So there is going to be a simple abstract background that we're going to create using a technique known as wet on wet. And there's going to be a very minimal color palette. So no need to worry about that. In case you're not having the exact colors that I'm using, you can definitely go for any other good alternative. It is completely fine. Also, you're free to experiment and explore your own color palette. You can choose different colors if you want to. Now let me take you towards the color palette so that you can get an exact idea of how we're going to create a beautiful abstract background. So as you can observe, I'm ready with my sketchbook, having all the labelings in the bottom portion. These are the colors that we are going to apply onto the paper. So I have given the heading color palette. There are four colors, ultramarine, purple, deep green, and light green. In case you want to create your own color palette, it is completely fine. Let me show you all the watercolor tubes. So these are basically four colors. No need to worry at all. In case you do not have the exact shade of the color, you can go for any other good alternative as well. Whenever you want to have a nice abstract background, it is always good to use water colors. So now, let us start by applying the first color patch just above the labeling. I'll be using my quill brush of size two. Take some good amount of ultramarine. So I was already having it in my color palette. Make a good composition of water and color together. Then just apply a simple little patch onto the paper. The reason behind why we are doing this particular step is so that you can know the exact application of the color onto the paper. If you warn that your color should have a better saturation, try to have less amount of water and more color in it. In case you find that your brush is having axis amount of water in it, try to dab your brush onto the tissue paper so that axis amount of water will be removed. Now I'll be cleaning my quill brush and we'll be applying the second color, which is purple. So you can observe in the color palette. I'm going to take some good amount of saturated purple. No need to worry about the palette in case you have a very simple color palette. You can use that as well, take the colors directly from the watercolor tube, and then make a good composition of water and color together, and then you can apply the color patch as well. Okay. Now, I'll be taking the next color, which is going to be deep green, which is a little bit darker than light green. So clean your quill brush, take some color from the color palette, and again, apply a little patch of deep green as well. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and apply a good patch. Now, repeating the same step, we're going to apply a nice patch of light green as well. Let me tell you why we're doing this particular step. When the color is wet and when it is applied on the paper, the visuals are very different. So when you apply the color onto the paper and the color gets dry, then you know the exact color that is going to be visible onto the entire painting. So now you can observe that I have applied all the four colors to the paper, and these are the four colors that we are going to use in all the ten paintings. There is a combination of deep green and light green together, and then there is going to be a combination of ultramarine and purple. Using these two color combinations, we are going to create a nice abstract background. Now, let me show you how we are going to use our black marker to create a nice outline for the entire urban element. Now, slowly, I have applied these little strokes using a calligraphy pen basically. In case you have a good alternative, you can use that. Then I'll be using another marker, which is a little bit thicker. So by using this thick marker, we are going to apply solid black color in the entire urban element. And then we have this simple black pen using which we are going to create some nice random strokes. I hope that you got an exact idea of the color palette. Now let us move towards the next part. 5. Lets Practice: Hey, every buddy. So before we start with all the ten paintings, we're going to have a simple practice session in which we are going to learn about all the elements that are needed in all the ten paintings and how to paint them in detail. The practice session will help you a lot to develop confidence while painting, and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. So there is going to be a simple abstract background that we're going to create using watercolors. Then I'll be teaching you how you have to use a solid black color to create a beautiful urban element, which creates a nice contrast with the background. And then we're going to add minute details using white pen. So now we are going to practice this beautiful abstract background that you can observe in this class project. It is a very simple and easy step that you can use to create this nice abstract background. So this is basically known as a wet on wet technique. You just have to take your quill brush of size two, apply a thin coat of water on the entire surface in a very random and natural manner. Make sure that you take some good amount of water and it should not dry before we apply the color because it will not spread in a nice abstract manner then. So try to apply some good amount of water. Now, once we have applied a nice coat of water, we're going to take some ultramarine, so you just have to take some good combination of water and color together from the color palette. No need to worry about my color palette in case you have a simple color palette. You can take some good amount of color directly from your watercolor tube and mix it well with water. So the brush is full with color and water. Now, just simply dab your brush onto the paper in this random manner, and you'll observe that your color will spread in a very natural and abstract manner. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and just apply the color in this nice natural manner. In case you find that your color is getting finished from the brush, you can definitely take some more color from the color palette, mix it well with water. And then we are going to apply the color again. You can already observe that there is water in the background, which is not dry completely right now, and you just have to slowly apply these little patches and your color will spread automatically. This technique is basically known as a wet on wet technique, which is very much used in water colors. So you just have to apply a thin coat of water initially, but it should be in a good amount, and then you have to apply color so that your color will spread in this natural manner. Now, to make a good combination of another color, we're going to take some purple from the color palette. So add a little bit of water, make a good combination of color and water together. Now, we are going to apply the color in the remaining portion. Again, the steps are absolutely same. You just have to randomly apply the color in this manner. No need to hurry at all, take your time and make sure that you apply the color in a nice way. Also, no need to worry about getting the abstract background in the exact same way I'm having right now. Your abstract background will be definitely a little bit different. And it is absolutely fine. So no need to worry about the output. So we have created a good combination of ultramarine and purple together. You can already observe that I'm applying the color in the bottom portion as well. So we are almost done creating this beautiful abstract background. Now, we're going to splatter some color. So your brush is already having some good amount of color. Just simply tap your finger onto the brush and splatter the color in this random manner. You'll observe that you'll get this beautiful splatter of color on the entire background. So we are done with the abstract background. Let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe all the details carefully. Before starting with the urban element, we have to give some time for the background to dry. So let the background dry for a while. And once the entire background is dry, then we can start with the next step. Now you can observe that our beautiful abstract background is completely dry. I'll be using my calligraphy pen, which is basically a simple black marker only, and we're going to create the outline of the entire urban element that we are going to paint or I can say draw on the entire surface. So it's a very simple and easy technique. You just have to create this nice outline. And then once you're done with the outline, you're going to fill in solid black color in the entire portion. So I started by creating two semicircular shapes, which is basically dome, and you can add these vertical lines to create some beautiful towers and some little elements. This entire urban element is just for your knowledge so that you know how we are going to create the elements in the class projects as well. So I have drawn two little windows in between where we are not going to fill in solid black color in the inner portion. You can add the windows according to your convenience as well. You can create your own composition. And I'll be using my thick marker, as you can observe. It gets a nice solid black color when you apply using this thick marker. It is also possible for you to give solid black color using black pot color as well. But it would be really great if you use a marker so that you can get a nice high opacity color. She'll get a nice saturated color if you use a nice thick marker, and it would be really easy for you to apply this little patch as well. We are not painting on a bigger scale, so it is completely fine. You can use a marker. Now you can observe that I have created the entire sellout of the urban element using this solid black marker. And you can also observe how beautiful these little windows are looking. Where we have not applied solid black color. I'll be adding a nice outline for a beautiful plantation in the right hand side, and then you can fill in solid black color in the inner portion, using the calligraphy pen itself or any marker that you're having. Now, let us use white pen to add minute details to the entire sellout, which is a very amazing and easy step. Just use a simple white pen, add these minute details to the dome. In the bottom portion of the dome, you can add these nice rectangular shapes, and you can just add some vertical and horizontal lines together to form some minute details. It is completely fine to not follow the exact steps. You can create the details according to your convenience as well. If you want to give some more depth to the entire detailing, you can add these little lines in between as well. Right now, you can observe a beautiful contrast with the urban element and the background and the white pen details that we are adding right now. She can observe that using three basic steps, creating an abstract background, creating a urban element, and adding minute details using white pen. We created a nice painting, as you can observe. You can use a black pen to add some random strokes to create some nice abstract element. She can observe how beautiful the entire painting is looking. You can compare it with the class project. The practice sheet will help you a lot to develop confidence while painting and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. Let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe the color palette and the practice sheet both carefully. Now, let us move towards our first class project. Okay. 6. Painting 1 - The Castle: Hey, everybody, you're most welcome to the first painting, which is the castle. You can observe the class project carefully. So I'm ready with my sketchbook and all the art supplies nearby so that we can access them in an easy manner. So I'll be using my quill brush of size two, and we're going to apply a nice coat of water on the entire paper surface, which is basically known as a wet on wet technique. To create an abstract background, this particular step is required. So make sure that you apply some good amount of water because it will be needed for your color to spread in a very abstract and natural manner. In case you're not having a quill brush, you can use a round brush as well. It is completely fine. I'll be taking our first color, which is going to be ultramarine. So take some good amount of color from the color palette. I was already having the colors in my color palette. As you can observe, that it is placed on the topmost portion. You have to make a good combination of color and water together. So the first color is ultramarine. In case you do not have this type of color palette, you can use a simple color palette as well. Just take the color in a simple color palette mix it well with water. Make sure that your brush is loaded with color and water and just start applying these little patches of color, and you'll observe that your color will spread automatically since we have applied a thin coat of water in the background. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and just apply the color patches in a very random and natural way only. No need to worry about getting an output very similar to mine. Your background might differ from mine, and it is completely fine. So you can observe that we have applied the ultramarine color in a very nice manner. Also, in case you want to experiment with the colors. It is completely fine. In case you want to use a different combination of colors. It is absolutely fine. You can select your own color palette according to your convenience. Now, we are going to use some purple. So just clean your quill brush and water, and we are going to make a good combination of purple this time with water. So make sure that your brush is loaded with color and water. Now, similarly, just apply these little patches on the topmost portion. You can randomly apply them. It is completely fine and you'll observe a nice combination of this particular color as well with ultramarine. In certain portions, you can use the tip of your round brush to add these little patches, and in certain portion in case you want to use the surface of the brush, that is also absolutely fine. So we are almost done adding a beautiful abstract background onto our sketchbook. Now, we're going to splatter some color to create some nice abstract effect, which makes the entire painting look a little bit more classy and aesthetic. I find that there is a little bit of more white space to make it a little bit more colorful. You can just add some water around. You'll observe that the color will spread automatically to cover the more whiter space that is on the outer portion. Now we are going to splatter some color, take some good color and water in your quill brush. Make a good combination of both of them. You can also add a little bit of purple if you want to and it is going to be a very fun step. Just tap your finger onto the brush, and you will observe that the color will splatter in this random manner. You can observe these little dots in variation of sizes, and it is looking really nice. You can add this on the sides as well. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and do this particular step in a careful manner. So we are done with the abstract background. Give it some time to dry. M. Once the abstract background is dry, I'm going to create a beautiful outline of the entire castle using my calligraphy pen, which is basically a simple black marker only. So you can observe it is having a nice tip that you can use to create the outline of the entire urban element. So I'm starting with a nice pointed and triangular roof on the left hand side, and I have created a nice vertical wall attached to it. Then there's going to be a nice element, which is having a semicircular dome shape on the topmost portion, connect it with two vertical lines. So it's a combination of horizontal and vertical lines together forming the entire structure of the castle element. Now, slowly, I'll be completing the entire urban element. So I'm going to attach the central element with the triangular element that we have drawn on the left hand side. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and try to give a noise outline. It is completely fine if your outline varies a little bit than mine. It is absolutely okay. There might be some differences. Then I'll be adding my nice dome structure on the right hand side as well. So you can just add a semicircular shape on the topmost portion. Add two horizontal lines and one vertical line. You can also add one vertical line on the topmost portion of all these structures to create some nice aesthetics to the entire urban element. So right now, you can observe a beautiful outline of the entire urban element. Now, we are going to make the entire urban element solid black using our black marker, which is very thick. You can observe it tip. I'm starting from the topmost portion, adding these little strokes combined together to form a solid black patch. In case you want to use a black color, it is also fine, but if you'll use this marker, you'll get a nice saturated solid black patch to the entire urban element. So slowly, I'll be covering the entire urban element. Make sure that your marker do not get out of the outline. I'm starting to add the solid black patch in the second element as well. So you just have to slowly observe the movement of my hand. I'm slowly adding this combining these little vertical strokes together. No need to hurry at all. Take your time. Make sure that there is no space left in between. And if you want to randomly leave some space in between, it is completely fine. It can be a part of some aesthetic elements. Now, slowly, I'll be covering the entire dome structure in the right hand side with this solid black patch as well. So you can slowly observe a beautiful contrast of the entire urban element with the beautiful watercolor abstract background. Now, I'll be covering the remaining portion on the bottom area as well. You can randomly add the solid black patch in the bottom portion in this random manner, adding some vertical lines. So we are done with the entire structure. In case you find that there is any space left in between, you can apply the marker again. I'll be using my black marker again, which is having a little bit thin tip to add some bushes on the left hand portion. Starting from the topmost portion, I'll be slowly moving towards the bottom area, adding these little strokes together, combining together forming a beautiful bush element, and then you can fill in solid black color in the inner portion. No need to hurry at all. In case you want to fill in solid black color using your thick black marker. It is completely fine. Now, slowly, I'll be moving towards the bottom area, and I'll be filling this solid black patch. She can observe there is a nice bushy element in the left hand portion, combining with the urban element. In case you want to experiment with this particular element, you can add the bush randomly according to your convenience as well. So we are done adding the entire sellout of the urban element and the bushes. In case you want to add minute details using your black marker, you can add these little strokes on the outline of the entire bush. I'll be using my black pen, and I'll be adding these little strokes randomly. So it's a very thin black pen. You can just randomly add these strokes to make the entire painting sellout look a little bit more aesthetic and elegant. And in case you do not want to add these strokes, it is completely fine. Now, let us add some minute details using our white pen. I'll be using my white pen, and I'm starting from the topmost portion. It's a very interesting step that you will definitely enjoy doing. So we're going to add minute details using this white pen, starting from the horizontal lines just below the dome area. So you have to basically define the entire castle elements using this white pen. You can also observe a beautiful contrast of these solid white strokes with the solid black background as well. Now, to make the line a little bit more aesthetic, I'll be adding these little vertical lines just below that using the tip of my white pen. Similarly, you can repeat the same step for the next horizontal line as well. That is not at all compulsory for you to add the details in the exact same way I'm adding right now. In case you want to play with the details, if you want to create your own details as well, it is completely fine. So no need to worry about drawing it in the exact same way I'm drawing right now. Also, in case you want to practice the detailing element or to create the sill out on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you want to come towards your final painting. That is also completely fine. This will help your lot to develop confidence while drawing and painting, and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. So I've added a few more horizontal lines on the bottom portion. Now, let us add few details in the dome element on the right hand side as well. So I'll be adding these little strokes on the topmost portion in the curved manner. Then I'll be adding a few horizontal lines as well. Before that, let us complete the first building element, which is in the center by adding a simple vertical line, and then I'll connect it with two horizontal lines. So now you can observe how beautifully the entire dome structure is getting defined. The more minute details you'll add to the sell out, the more aesthetic the entire painting will look. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and add some minute details using your white pen. Enjoy the entire process. It's a very satisfying step as well. Now, let us move towards the left hand side as well. So we have this nice triangular roof that we're going to define by adding some lines. No need to hurry at all. In case you want to add the details. According to your convenience, it is completely fine. I'll be adding these horizontal lines to separate the triangular roof and add these minute details. Now, let us add a beautiful window on the bottom portion. You can add a semicircular shape on the topmost portion and just complete it by adding vertical and horizontal lines together. In case you want to add a solid white patch, that is also completely fine. So we are almost done adding all the minute details to the entire sellout. You can observe that the entire structure is looking more detailed, and there is a beautiful contrast with the solid white color and the black background. I'll be adding a few details in the dome structure that is on the right hand side. You can add two vertical lines, and you can just add these little lines to define some structural elements of the entire castle. One thing that I would like to tell you all is that no need to worry about adding the minute details in the exact same way I'm adding right now. In case you want to create your own details in your own manner, it is completely fine. You can also experiment with the entire sellout, and you can also experiment in the details. So now we are done adding these beautiful minute details to the entire sellout using our white pen. You can reapply the white pen wherever you find that the saturation of the white color is a little bit less. I'll be adding a simple text element in the entire painting. I'll be writing urban sketching. So I'll be using my black pen. You can write any text that you want to. You can also write a motivation quote. Or any message that you would like to add to your painting. So we are done with the entire painting. Let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe all the details carefully. I hope that you enjoyed this particular painting and got to learn something new. Using three basic steps, we created the entire painting, the abstract background, the urban sellout, and wide details. No need to worry about creating it in the exact same way I have created. You're free to explore and experiment. Now let us move towards the next painting. 7. Painting 2 - The Palace: Hey, everybody, you're most welcome to the second painting, which is the palace. So as you can observe, I'm ready with my sketchbook, and all the art supplies nearby. We are going to start by creating a beautiful abstract background. I'll be using my quill brush of size two, and we're going to add a nice coat of water in the sketchbook. Take some good amount of water from the container and apply a nice coat of water on the entire surface of the paper in a very random way only. Now, we are going to take some good amount of ultramarine from the color palette. No need to hurry at all. Just make a good combination of water and color together. Make sure that your brush is loaded with color and water in a nice composition. Now, just dab your brush onto the paper and you'll observe that the color will automatically spread on the entire surface. In case you find that the color is getting finished from the brush, you can definitely take some more color in your brush. You can already observe how beautiful the entire color is getting spreaded. Now, this is basically ultramarine that we have applied for the entire abstract background. Now, I'll be taking some purple. The steps are absolutely same. You just have to make a good combination of water and color together. Load your brush with a lot of color and simply dab your brush in this random manner wherever you want to. It is not at all compulsory to get an exact abstract background that I'm creating right now. Your abstract background might vary from mine, and it is completely fine. There might be a bit of difference. So right now, you can observe a beautiful combination of ultramarine and purple together. You can spread the colors by adding some water in the surrounding portion where you find that there is a little bit of more white space. Now, we are going to splatter some color in the background color that we have created. It's a very fun step. Make a good combination of color and water together. Tap your finger onto the brush and splatter some color in the surroundings. Now, once we are done with the background, you have to give some time for it to dry. Now, once the entire background is dry, we are going to create a beautiful outline of the entire urban element, which is basically the palace. So I'm starting by creating a simple semicircular shape on the topmost portion. You can add a simple vertical line as well. Now, on the bottom portion of the semicircular shape, you can add a simple horizontal line. Now, we are adding two vertical lines on either sides to create a beautiful tower. No need to hurry at all, take your time and try to draw with a lot of patients. They are initially starting to create a beautiful outline of the entire urban element. I have added another semicircular shape, which is a little bit smaller than the first one. You can similarly add a simple vertical line on the topmost portion. Now, we are going to have a nice triangular roof on the left hand portion as well, which is connected with the elements that we have drawn on the right hand side. So you just have to simply draw two slant lines and just add a simple horizontal line in the bottom portion. Now we have to add vertical lines to create the walls. You can add another element attached to the semicircular shape on the right hand side as well. Now using our thick marker, we are going to add a solid black patch in the entire urban element that we have created. In case you want to paint the entire surface using your watercolors, basically a black watercolor. It is absolutely fine, but it would be better if you use the marker so that you can get a highly saturated black color. Now, you can slowly observe the movement of my hand. I'll be adding these little vertical strokes together forming these black patch in the entire surface. No need to hurry at all. Try to do this particular step in a very slow and steady manner. Make sure that there is no space left in between. In case you want to leave some space in between, it is absolutely fine. You can create some aesthetic elements by leaving some space in between. Now, slowly, I'll be covering the other element by adding the beautiful solid black patch, starting from the semicircular shape on the topmost portion. You can observe the way I'm applying the marker by adding this little solid black patch. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and try to apply a good solid patch. Also, in case you want to experiment and explore with the outline of the entire urban element. It is absolutely fine. You can draw it according to your convenience. You can already observe a beautiful contrast of the entire urban element with the abstract background that we have created. Now, slowly, I'll be moving towards the right side and covering the remaining portion. In the bottom portion, you can observe we have randomly left some solid black strokes. So we are done with the entire solid black urban sell out. Now, I'll be using my black pen to add some random strokes in the surrounding of the entire painting. No need to hurry at all. Just apply these strokes in a very random and natural manner. It basically creates some beautiful aesthetics to the entire painting. In case you do not want to add these strokes to your painting. It is absolutely fine. I'll be using my white pen to add minute details to the entire sell out. No need to hurry at all. Just take your time and add these little strokes in curved manner to the semicircular shape, and then you can fill in some minor strokes in between as well. I'll be adding a simple horizontal line. In case you find that the saturation of your white pen is a little bit less, then you can reapply the strokes on it. And once you find that you're getting a nice good contrast with the solid black background, you're good to go. So I'll be adding these little rectangular shapes just below the horizontal line to add some minute details, and it also increases the entire aesthetics of the entire painting. Now, we're going to repeat the same steps by adding two more horizontal lines and adding the minute details just below that. This particular step of adding minute details using a white pen is really very interesting, and you don't have to worry about adding the details in the exact same way I'm adding right now. In case you want to create your own details and make a different composition, it is completely fine. So you can observe that I added a nice window by creating a semi circular shape on the topmost portion, added few horizontal and vertical lines together. If you want to have a nice white patch, you can just add these little vertical strokes together. I'll be adding the horizontal lines in the smaller dome structure as well. And we're going to add little windows. So you can observe the way I'm using the tip of my detailing pen. No need to hurry at all. Try to add the details in a very slow and steady manner. Make sure that you apply a nice white patch. Now, in the dome structure, which is a little bit smaller, there also, you can add these little strokes. Now, let us add details to the triangular roof. So I'm just giving an outline, leaving some black space on the outer portion. You can observe how beautifully the entire structure is getting defined when we add this beautiful details using a white pen. Now, in the combination of two vertical lines, you can add these strokes. And you can observe how beautiful these minute details are getting. In case you're not that much confident enough to add the white details using your white pen directly towards your entire sellout. What you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you can come towards your final painting. This will help your lot to develop confidence while painting and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. You can carefully observe the way I have added these little rectangular shapes just below the horizontal line, and it increases the beauty of the entire structure. Similarly, we are adding these minute details on the horizontal lines in the bottom portion as well. You can add two vertical lines having some space in between, and then you can fill in using solid white pen. There is no specific way of adding these minute details, so you are free to explore and you can add the details according to your convenience. You will definitely enjoy the entire process. In order to add a few more details, I'm adding these little windows in the entire structure. So we are almost done adding details using our white pen. I'm adding these little windows to increase some more detail. If you observe carefully, it's a combination of horizontal and vertical strokes together that are forming these minute details. Now, you can observe a beautiful contrast of the abstract background, the urban sellout that we created using solid black color and these minute details, which we have created using a white pen. Now, we can just add these little circular shapes in the abstract background to create some nice classic effect to the entire painting. No need to hurry at all, take your time and do it with a lot of patience. Now let us add some nice text to the entire painting. So I'll be writing urban sketching using my black pen, which is having a very thin tip. You can write any other message as well. According to your convenience as well. It is absolutely fine. So we are done with the entire painting. Let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe all the details carefully. I hope that you enjoyed the entire painting. Using three basic steps, we created the entire painting. No need to worry about getting an exact output. You are free to explore and experiment. Just enjoy the process. Now let us move towards the next painting. 8. Painting 3 - The Windows: Hey, everybody, you're most welcome to the third painting, which is the windows. So as you can observe, I'm ready with my sketchbook and all the art supplies nearby. The first step is a very interesting step, which is basically creating a beautiful abstract background. You just have to apply a nice coat of water on the entire surface of the paper. No need to hurry at all, take some good amount of water, and the water should not dry before we apply the color. Now, once we have applied a nice coat of water, we are going to take some good amount of ultramarine from the color palette. Make a good composition of water and color together. Load your brush with a lot of color and water and just simply dab it onto the paper. You will observe that the color will automatically spread on the entire paper surface. And this is basically known as a wet on wet technique in which we apply a nice coat of water initially, and then we apply color on it. So you can observe the way ultramarine is getting spreaded all over the entire surface. You can slowly move towards the bottom area in case you find that the color is getting finished from your brush, you can take some more color from the color palette. No need to hurry at all. Try to do this particular step in a very slow and steady manner. Take your time. You can use the tip of your quill brush to add little patches as well. Now, once we are done applying ultramarine, I'll be taking some purple from the color palette. Again, make a good combination of color and water together, load your brush with some good amount of color. And then you have to simply dab your brush in this random manner. You will observe that the color will automatically spread since the paper is still wet. So you can observe carefully the way I'm adding these little purple patches on the outer portion. Now, simply tap your finger onto the brush and splatter some color. There is no specific way of plattering the color. You just have to randomly splatter the color around the entire paper. In case you find that there is a little bit of more white space, you can add some water in the surrounding. The color will spread automatically. Now, let the background dry for a while. Once your background is dry, I'll be using my marker to draw the outline of the entire urban sellout. So I'm starting from the topmost portion, adding a simple vertical line. This particular painting is named as the windows because it is having a lot of windows in between, which we are not going to make solid black. So I've just added the semicircular shape, which is basically a dome of the entire building structure. No need to hurry at all, you just have to simply follow the steps. In case you might have a little bit of difference in the entire outline, it is completely fine. No need to worry about that. The outline will basically help us where we have to apply the solid black color. So I'm just adding the vertical lines to complete the entire building structure. Also, there is no specific way of drawing. I'm just randomly creating a beautiful building structure. So no need to worry about perfection. It's a combination of horizontal and vertical lines together. So you don't have to take it that seriously. So we have almost completed a beautiful building structure. I'm adding some minute details. You can observe I have just drawn a simple semicircular shape. You can complete it by adding these vertical lines and horizontal line. So these are basically the windows that I'm talking about where we are not going to apply solid black color. Okay. You can carefully observe the way I'm using the tip of my marker. Now we are going to have some nice plantation in the left hand portion. You have to use the tip of your marker and create this nice random line forming a beautiful outline for the entire plantation. No need to worry about drawing it in the exact same way I have drawn. You can create your own composition as well. Now, once we are done, adding the outline of the entire building structure and the plant, we are going to add a nice solid black patch to the entire urban element. No need to hurry at all. Just apply a nice solid black patch in a very slow and steady manner, take smaller portion at a time. Make sure that your marker does not move outside the outline of the entire urban element. Now, we are slowly going to cover the entire element using this beautiful solid black marker. In the remaining portion of the entire building, you have to be a little bit careful. Use the tip of your marker to apply the solid black patch around the window. We are not going to apply the marker inside the window because we want to create some minute details inside. So there is a need of the background color that we have applied. So you can observe the way I'm moving my marker in this horizontal and vertical direction so that my marker will not move inside the window area. Similarly, I'll be doing the same steps in the bottom portion. In case you find that the entire urban element is a little bit difficult to draw. You can definitely practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially. And then you can come towards your final painting. This will help you a lot to develop confidence while painting and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. Now, slowly, I have covered the entire building element. Now, we are going to apply the solid black color in the bush that we have created in the left hand portion. It's basically a plantation element only, which is connected to the entire urban element. Again, I'll be adding these little small black patches to cover the entire area. In case you want to apply solid black color using watercolors, that is fine, but you won't get this highly saturated solid black color. It's better to use a marker. It is also very much convenient and easy to apply. But in case you're missing out on a marker, then you can definitely use black watercolor. Now, using my thin marker, I'll be adding these minute details to the entire bush, which is basically adding these little strokes to make the bush look a little bit more attractive and aesthetic. You can also add these random lines in the bottom portion to create some nice abstract effect. Now, let us add minute details to the windows that we have left applying solid black color. You just have to create a nice vertical line and then add these horizontal lines. And you can observe how beautiful the entire windows. Use the tip of your thin marker to add these vertical and horizontal lines. And you can observe how beautiful the entire window element looks. So we are done with the entire sell out of the urban element. Now, let us add minute details using our solid white pen. It's one of the most satisfying part, and you'll definitely enjoy the entire process. You just have to add these vertical and horizontal lines to add minute details to the entire building structure. You can also add some curved lines. It is absolutely fine in case you want to experiment and explore. You can add the details according to your convenience as well. In case you find that the saturation of the solid white color that you're applying using your white pen is a little bit less then you can reapply the strokes as well. You can carefully observe the way I'm adding these little vertical lines to enhance the details of the windows and the structures that we have created in between. There is no specific way of applying these minute details. So no need to worry about perfection. You can just add them in a random and natural manner. In case you're not that much confident enough to add the details using your white pen directly towards your final urban sell out. What you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you can come towards your final painting. This will help your lot to develop confidence while drawing and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. Also, one thing that I can suggest to you is that whenever you're adding minute details using anything like a pen or a brush, always try to keep your hand very much slow and steady. Make sure that your hand is not that much stiff. Try to keep it very much free and lose. This will help you a lot to move your pen in a very easy manner, and your hand won't shiver as well. Now, I'll be adding these little windows in the bottom portion, and we're going to enhance the bushes that we have drawn on the left hand side as well by adding these little strokes. So you can observe the way I'm randomly applying the solid white pen in this manner. No need to worry about perfection. I have just randomly applied it on the entire plantation element. In case you find that there is a little bit of less saturation in any of the white strokes, you can reapply some white strokes to enhance the contrast between the solid black color. I'll be using my black pen to add some random strokes around the entire building structure. You just have to randomly move your pen in this way. This particular step is not compulsory to do in case you want to add some classic effect. Then you can do that. In case you want to skip this particular step. That is also completely fine. Now, using my white pen, I'll be adding these little circular shape in the abstract background to create some more aesthetics. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and add the dots in a very random and natural way. Now, let us add some text to the entire painting. I'll be writing urban sketching. You can write any message according to your convenience. It is absolutely fine. So we are done with the entire painting. Let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe all the details carefully. You can observe using three basic steps. We have created the entire painting. I hope that you enjoyed creating this particular painting and got to learn something new. Now, let us move towards the next painting. 9. Painting 4 - Vintage House: Everybody, you're most welcome to the fourth painting, which is vintage House. So as you can observe, I'm ready with my watercolor paper, and all the art supplies nearby. I'll be using my quill brush of size two. No need to worry at all in case you're not having a quill brush. You can use a round brush as well. You're going to apply a nice coat of water on the entire paper surface in this random manner only. Make sure that your paper is wet before you apply color. So now we are going to take some ultramarine from the color palette, make a good composition of water and color together. Now, simply dab your brush onto the paper and you'll observe that the color will automatically spread on the entire paper surface in a very random and abstract manner. No need to hurry at all, try to do this particular step in a very slow and steady manner. This is basically known as a wet on wet technique in which we apply a thin coat of water initially, and then we apply the color so that the color will spread automatically on the entire background. In case you find that your color is getting finished from the brush, you can definitely take some more color from the color palette, add some amount of water, mix them well together. Now I'll be taking some purple from the color palette and mix it well with water. Okay. Then simply apply the color on the outskirt of the entire background. You can randomly apply it anywhere where you want to. So no need to worry about getting the exact abstract background that I am creating right now. You can have a little bit of difference, and it is absolutely fine. Now, simply tap your finger onto the brush and splatter some color around in a very random and natural way only. So we are done with the entire abstract background, let it dry for a while. Once your entire background is dry, we're going to create the outline of the entire vintage house. Starting from the roof element by creating these two slant lines. No need to hurry at all. Use the tip of your marker very carefully and just apply these two slant lines connecting together. Then I'll be adding one simple vertical line. And then we are going to add another vertical line, which is going to act as the wall of the entire house. They are using the marker to create the outline of the entire urban element. And then we are going to have some nice roof element in the left hand portion as well. You just have to create a simple horizontal line, connect it with a slant line, and then you have to add this vertical line. So this is basically part of the entire vintage house. Now, we are going to add some nice plantation in the left hand portion by adding a rough random line in this manner. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and create a very rough and random line creating some bushes. I'll be adding some building structure in the bottom portion also. So once we are done, creating the outline of the entire house, we're going to fill in solid black color in the inner portion. No need to hurry at all. I'll be taking my thick marker and just apply these small solid black patches. No need to hurry at all, take your time and apply the patches. You can also add these little two chimneys on the topmost portion. Slowly, you can just cover the entire surface. Make sure that you do not leave any space in between. Now, similarly, I'll be adding the solid black patch in the bottom portion as well. You can observe carefully the way I'm using the tip of my solid black marker. Now, I'll be adding the solid black patch in the house element. It is having two beautiful slant roof. And then we are going to cover the entire surface. So whenever you're using a solid black marker, try to apply the patches in smaller portions so that you can apply the color in a nice way. In case you want to use black water color, it is fine, but you'll get a nice saturation using a marker, and it will be really easy for you to apply a solid black color to the entire surface. While you're also applying the solid black patch to the entire urban element, make sure that you do not move out of the outline. Now, slowly, as you can observe, I'm having the remaining portion, which we are going to cover using this marker only. In case you are not that much confident enough to draw the outline of the entire vintage house towards your final painting, and you do not want to spoil your beautiful abstract background. What you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you can come towards your final painting. This will help you a lot to develop confidence while drawing, and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. Now, slowly, we are going to cover the bottom portion by applying the marker. One thing that I would like to tell you all is that no need to worry about getting the exact outline of the vintage house that I have drawn right now. Yours might vary from mine a little bit, and it is absolutely fine. In fact, you're free to experiment and explore. You can create your own composition of the entire vintage house as well. So you can just simply observe and follow these steps carefully, and you're free to explore. Enjoy the process and no need to worry about the output. I'll be using my thin marker to add some minute details. I'm adding a little chimney in the house element, and we're going to add these little random strokes using our black pen. It's not a compulsory step to do. You can just randomly apply these strokes. In case you do not want to add these random strokes. That is also completely fine. It is just to add some aesthetics and increase some abstract elements. I'll be using my white pen to add minute details to the entire vintage house. We are starting with the triangular roof. As you can observe, I'm just giving a double line. No need to hurry at all. You can add the details. According to your convenience as well. It is absolutely fine. And in case you want to follow the steps, that is also completely okay. So I'm just adding the outline initially to the roof which we have created on the left hand portion also. You can add these little vertical and horizontal lines to increase the details. I'll be adding these slant lines to the roof that we have created on the left hand side. You can observe how beautiful these white lines are looking, and it creates a beautiful contrast with the solid black background. You can also observe that I've added two little windows in the wall element, and you can fill in some little strokes to make it completely white. Now we're going to add a huge window in the house element. I'm going to add a rectangular shape, and we're going to just add vertical and horizontal lines to make it a little bit more aesthetic and attractive. You just have to add two horizontal lines and one simple vertical line. You can increase the frame size by adding one more line in the outline of the entire window. You can observe a beautiful contrast of the entire house with the solid black background as well. So now, let us add few details in the bottom portion of the entire house as well. So I'm going to add a simple horizontal line. You can make it a double line as well. And then we're going to add few vertical lines in a combination of two. To make it a little bit more aesthetic, you can add these little white strokes in between. No need to hurry at all, take your time and do it with a lot of patients. Then you can add these little small windows in the right hand side. The more details you'll add to your painting, the better your painting will look. Also, no need to worry about adding the details using your white pen in the exact same way I am adding or drawing. You can create your own details as well by creating a beautiful composition. If you observe carefully, it's a combination of horizontal and vertical lines together. Now in order to add minute details, I'll be just drawing a simple square shape on the right hand side, attach it with a simple horizontal line. In case you're not that much confident enough to add these beautiful details using your white pen towards your final painting. What you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you can come towards your final painting. This will help you a lot to develop confidence while painting, and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. No need to hurry at all. And one thing that I would like to suggest to you is that whenever you're holding a pen or a brush, always try to keep your hand very much loose and free. No need to make it very much stiff. This will help you a lot to draw with a lot of patients and your hand will not shiver at all. So I'm just adding these random strokes to enhance the bushes in the left hand portion, and I'll be just adding a simple horizontal line to supprate the triangular roof. To add some minute details, I'll be adding a few more horizontal lines. If you observe carefully, you can see that how beautiful these minute details are looking when we draw them on a solid black background. You can add two little windows on either sides of this big window. Now, using my white pen, I'll just add these little circular shape in the abstract background to make the painting look a little bit more aesthetic and attractive. Now using my black pen, I'll be just adding a little text, which is urban sketching. In case you want to add a message according to your convenience, it is absolutely fine. And we are done with the entire painting. Now, let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe all the details carefully. You can observe how beautifully we have used three basic steps and created a beautiful urban painting. No need to worry about the output and painting it in the exact same way I have painted. Just enjoy the process. I hope that you enjoyed the painting. Now let us move towards the next painting. 10. Painting 5 - Castle Wall: Hey, everybody, you're most welcome to the fifth painting, which is Castle Wall. So as you can observe, I'm ready with my sketchbook. We are starting with the first step, which is applying a thin coat of water on the entire surface of the paper. No need to hurry at all. Take some good amount of water and apply it in this random manner on the entire surface of the paper. Make sure that your paper is wet before you apply color to it. Now, we are going to take some ultramarine from the color palette. So make a good composition of color and water together. No need to hurry at all. Make sure that your brush is loaded with color and water. Now, simply dab your brush randomly to the paper surface. And you will observe that the color will very naturally spread on the entire paper surface in a very natural manner. No need to hurry at all. Use the entire surface of the brush also in case you want to. And if your color is getting finished from the brush, you can definitely take some more color from the color palette and simply dab it onto the paper. You can observe that we have covered the paper surface with some beautiful ultramarine. Now, similarly, we are going to take some purple to make a good combination of water and color together again. We are going to repeat the same steps, but this time we have purple in the brush, and you can again randomly apply it on the outer portion. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and apply it in a very slow and steady manner. So I'll be adding these little patches on the bottom portion as well. Now, simply tap your finger to the brush and splatter some color in this random manner. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and splatter the color. You'll definitely enjoy this process. Now, let the background dry for a while. Once your background is dry, we are going to start by creating the outline for a beautiful urban element. So the urban element that we are drawing right now is basically a castle wall, which is going to have some minute details in it. You're starting with the first element. So I've drawn a simple horizontal line, followed by two slant lines in opposite directions, and then you have to complete the entire roof by adding one more horizontal line in the bottom portion. So it's basically a trapezium, then you have to add two vertical lines creating the wall of the entire building structure. It is not at all compulsory that you create the entire outline of the urban element or the building element in the exact same way that I'm drawing right now. You can have your own variation, you're free to explore and experiment. Now, I'll be just connecting it with a few more building elements, and you can observe the way I'm adding another tower, which is going to be triangular in shape. So it's having a triangular roof on the topmost portion, and then you can add two vertical lines to add the walls. Now we're going to add a nice plantation in the right hand side. So I'll be using my marker and I'll be adding this random line, and you just have to create a beautiful outline of the entire plant. I'll be adding a simple vertical line above the triangular roof as well. Now, once we are done with the outline, we are going to add a noise cutout that you can consider as a door or a window. So you just have to draw a semicircular shape on the topmost portion, followed by two vertical and one horizontal line. Similarly, you can add this similar cutout on the smaller building element as well, which is having a triangular roof. So now we are going to cover the entire building element using a solid black marker. So you just have to start from the topmost portion, applying these little small black patches. No need to hurry at all. Try to apply the marker in smaller portions and cover the entire surface. Make sure that there is no space left in between. Now, slowly, I'm moving towards the bottom area, and I'll be very much careful near the cutout. Make sure that your marker do not enters the outline of the cutout. So just be very much careful near that. You can use the tip of your marker carefully. Now, slowly, we are going to cover the portion in the bottom area as well. You can use black watercolor to paint the entire sellout, but it would be great if you use a solid black marker. This will give you a nice saturated solid black color, and it will be really easy and convenient for you to apply the color also. So you can use any technique that is convenient to you. Now, slowly, I'll be moving towards the right hand side. I'm starting with the tower, which is having a nice triangular roof. I'll be using the tip of my marker to add solid black color to the entire surface. Slowly, I'll be moving towards the bottom area. Be a little bit careful near the cutout and use the tip of your marker. One thing that I would like to suggest to you all is that whenever you are holding a marker or a pen, be a little bit careful by holding it in a very loose and free manner. No need to make your hand very much stiff. This will help you a lot to draw in a very easy and careful manner. It would help you a lot to apply the color in a comfortable position also. Slowly, I'll be adding the solid black patch near the plantation also. No need to worry about the outline. You just have to create it in a very random and natural way. Also, in case you're not that much confident enough to draw your sell out directly towards your beautiful abstract background. What you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you can come towards your final painting. This will help your lot to develop confidence while drawing, and the chances of making mistakes will be also very less. So you can observe that we have almost covered the entire sellout of this beautiful castle wall. Now I'll be using my marker with a thin tip to add some minute details to the cutouts that we have created. You can add these little horizontal lines to make the entire cutout look a little bit more aesthetic. So you can observe that we are almost done adding a beautiful sellout element. Now, let us add some minute details using our white pen. So I'm starting from the topmost portion. I'll be adding a simple horizontal line just below the roof to separate it from the wall element. In case you find that the saturation of the white pen is a little bit less. You can reapply the stroke as well. I'll be adding minute details just below the roof. You can add a simple vertical line to sparate the entire building structure. It is not at all compulsory for you to add the details in the exact same way I'm adding right now. In case you want to experiment and explore, you can add the details according to your convenience as well. To enhance the cutout element, I have added the horizontal lines in the elements that we have added in the cutout and also one horizontal line on the bottom portion. You can already observe a beautiful contrast of the white solid lines with the beautiful black background that we have created for the entire sellout. I'll be adding a little detail in the roof element. So it's a simple, semicircular shape on the topmost portion, followed by two vertical and one horizontal line. Okay. If you want to create a nice solid patch, you can add these little strokes. Then we're going to add white lines in the remaining portion of the entire sellout. Add a little window on the right hand side, and simply add these little strokes to make it completely white. So basically, adding details, it's a combination of horizontal and vertical lines. And wherever you want to have a solid form, you can just apply some strokes inside it. I'll be enhancing the elements in the second building structure as well, which is just on the right hand side. You can also add these little strokes near the plantation to enhance the entire sellout. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and add these minute details. Also, no need to worry about adding the details in the exact same way I'm drawing right now. You can add the details according to your convenience as well. I'm adding these little windows by creating these rectangular shapes. Now you can already observe a beautiful contrast of the abstract background that we created initially using watercolors, the entire urban sellout, and the solid white lines. So there is a contrast between all the three elements. Now, I've added a few more horizontal and vertical lines in between to create some nice details in the entire building structure. I'll be just creating these little circular shapes in the abstract background. No need to hurry at all. Take your time and just create these little circular shapes. Now, I'll be simply using my black pen to create some nice random strokes in the background. It is not at all compulsory that you have to worry about perfection. Just randomly apply these solid black lines. Also, in case you want to avoid these black lines, it is absolutely fine. And we are done with the entire painting. Now, let me take you a bit so that you can observe all the details carefully. Using three simple and easy steps, we have created the entire painting, a beautiful abstract background, a solid urban element, that is in the form of a sellout and some minute details using a solid white pen. So I hope that you enjoyed creating this particular painting. Now let us move towards the next painting. 11. Painting 6 - The Gate: Hey, every buddy, you're most welcome to the sixth painting, which is the gate. So as you can observe, I'm ready with my sketchbook and all the art supplies nearby. Now, this time, we are going to have a different abstract background. We are starting with the first step which is applying a nice coat of water on the entire surface of the paper. No need to worry about perfection. You just have to randomly apply the water. Now, this time, we are going to apply deep green and light green together to create a beautiful abstract background. Make a good combination of water and color together, load your brush with a good amount of color, and you can observe that I'm randomly dabbing my brush onto the paper surface, and you'll see that the color will automatically spread on the entire surface. No need to hurry at all. Try to apply the color in a very slow and steady manner. It's a combination of deep green and light green together, so you can observe that there is variation in saturation of the color on the entire surface. You can also dab your brush in the smaller portions to apply the color. Now you can simply tap your finger onto the brush to splatter some color around the entire painting sheet. It's a very fun step, so you'll definitely enjoy it. Also, no need to worry about getting an exact abstract background that I have created. Your background might vary, and it is completely fine. So we are done with the beautiful background, let it dry for a while. Once your background is dry, now we're going to start by using our marker. We're going to create a beautiful outline for the entire urban element. So we're going to start by creating the outline for the building structure. So I started by creating a simple horizontal line, followed by two slant lines on either sides. You can make it a little bit curve. The outline basically helps us to get the exact structure of the urban element. And then we are going to fill in solid black color in the inner portion. Now, I'll be just adding two vertical lines to complete the entire building element. No need to hurry at all. Try to draw in a very slow and steady manner. Slowly, I'll be adding another slant line connecting with the first building structure. One thing that I can tell you is that whenever you're using a marker or a painting brush also. Always try to keep your hand very much loose and free. No need to make it very stiff. This will help you a lot to draw comfortably. Now, I'm adding another molding element on the right hand side. We have added two horizontal lines and tiny vertical lines. Then you're going to add a little bit of plantation in the right hand side as well. Now, there is going to be a simple cutout in the main building structure. So I'll be adding two vertical lines and a simple semicircular shape on the topmost portion. Then we're going to add a lot of vertical lines in between. So this is how we add some minute details to the entire structure. Now, we are almost done creating the outline. We're going to fill in solid black color in the inner portion. Before that, let me add two little vertical lines on the topmost portion. No need to hurry at all. Just try to draw it with a lot of patients. Also, it is not at all compulsory to draw it in the exact same way. I'm drawing right now. You can create your own composition as well. I'll be using my thick solid black marker basically to add a solid black color to the entire sellout. So I'm starting from the topmost portion. We're going to apply the color slowly. Using the tip of your marker, you can slowly apply it into smaller portions. You can use a black watercolor as well in case you want to paint this allowed, but I would suggest that try to use a solid black marker. It will be really helpful and comfortable to apply the color. Also, you'll be able to get a nice, highly saturated solid black color. So we are done applying solid black color on the roof structure. Now, let us cover the building element that is on the left hand side. You can observe the way I'm moving my marker, and I'm slowly covering the entire area. While you're applying the solid black color, make sure that there is no space left in between because it will not look that nice. And in case you find that there is any space left in between, you can reapply the marker on that. In case you're not that much confident enough to draw the entire sell out directly towards your final painting, and you do not want to spoil your beautiful abstract background. What you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially. And then you can come towards your final painting. This will help you a lot to develop confidence while drawing, and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. So you can observe that I'm applying the marker in the bottom portion also. I have left some space in between. Now let us add the solid black color in the bushes that we have drawn in the right hanside There is a nice fence element in the topmost portion and the entire portion in the bottom part is going to be solid black. No need to hurry at all. Try to apply the color in a very slow and steady manner. We are done with the entire sellout and we have applied a beautiful solid black color to the entire building structure. Now, to make the sellout of the entire plantation in the right hand portion, you can add these little strokes on the outline. Also, in case you want to create your own composition of the entire sellout by placing the elements in your own way that is completely fine. You are free to explore and experiment. I'll be using my white pen to add minute details to the entire sellout. You're starting from the topmost portion, which is the roof element. I'll be adding a simple horizontal line. In case you find that the saturation of your white pen is a little bit less, then you can reapply these strokes as well. So I've added a few more horizontal lines to enhance the entire roof element. And in order to add some minute details, you can just draw these little rectangular shapes just below the roof element. You can already observe a beautiful contrast of the solid white lines with the black background. I'll be adding vertical lines to just enhance the entire building structure. It is not at all compulsory for you to add the solid white details in the exact same way I'm drawing right now. In case you want to add the details, according to your convenience, it is absolutely fine. Now, slowly, I'm moving towards the left hand side where we have this little building structure. You can add some nice little windows in rectangular form. You can also add some windows, having a simple semicircular shape on the topmost portion and followed by two vertical lines and one horizontal line. Now, just below the entire huge cutout that we have created, having some vertical lines in it. You can enhance the vertical lines by adding some nice solid white lines, and then below that, you can add one more horizontal line. No need to hurry at all. Try to draw it with a lot of patience. Always try to keep your hand very much loose and free whenever you're using a pen or a brush. This will help you a lot to draw with a lot of patience and your hand won't shiver at all. In case you find that adding these minute details is a little bit difficult. Then what you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you can come towards your final painting. This will help you a lot to develop confidence while drawing and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. Now, in order to enhance the building structure in the right hand side as well, just below the plantation, I have added few horizontal and vertical lines together, and to make it a little bit in depth, you can add few little strokes inside that. It's a very simple and easy technique, and no need to worry about drawing it in the exact same way and about perfection. You can just enjoy the process and add the details according to your convenience as well. So as you can observe, we are done adding minute details using our white pen. I'll be using my black pen with a thin tip, and I'll be adding these little random strokes to make the entire painting look a little bit more aesthetic and classic. You can observe the way I'm moving my black pen. This particular step is not at all compulsory to do. In case you want to do it, it is absolutely fine. And in case you want to skip this particular step, that is also absolutely okay. Now, simply, I'll be adding these beautiful circular shapes in the abstract background, using my white pen in a very random and natural manner only. And now comes the last step, which is adding a little text in the entire painting. So I'm going to write urban sketching using my black pen. In case you want to write any other message according to your convenience, it is absolutely fine. No need to worry about that. No need to hurry at all. Try to write the message in a slow and steady manner. And we are done with the entire painting. Now let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe all the details carefully. You can observe that using three basic steps, we have created the entire painting. I hope that you enjoyed creating this particular painting and got to learn something new. Enjoy the process and don't worry about the output. Now let us move towards the next painting. 12. Painting 7 - The Towers: Hey, everybody, you're most welcome to the seventh painting, which is the Towers. As you can observe, I'm ready with my sketchbook and all the art supplies nearby. We are starting with the first step, which is applying a nice coat of water on the entire surface of the paper. No need to hurry at all. Apply some water in a good amount and make sure that the coat of water should not dry before we apply color. I'll be taking my quill brush and we're going to take some good amount of deep green, fold your brush with a lot of color and water. Then just simply dab your brush onto the paper surface and you'll find that the color will automatically spread on the entire surface. No need to hurry at all. Try to do this particular step in a very slow and steady manner. You can use the tip of your quill brush to apply the color in smaller portions also. You can observe that there is variation in saturation of the color in certain areas. So no need to worry about getting an exact same abstract background. The way I'm painting right now, your abstract background might vary, and it might have a little bit of difference, and it is absolutely fine. In case you want to combine your deep green with a little bit of light green, that is also absolutely fine. So we are done applying the color. Now, we are going to splatter some color so that we can get a nice abstract effect. You just have to tap your finger onto the brush and just observe that the color will splatter on the paper surface in a very natural manner. So we are done with the entire background. Now, let the background dry for a while. Once the background is dry, we are going to start by creating a beautiful urban element into the entire sketch book. So I'll be starting with the topmost portion. We are going to have two towers. So I'm starting with a triangular roof. You can observe that using the tip of my marker, which is having a nice thin tip, I have created a beautiful triangular shape, followed by two vertical lines on either sides, then you can complete it by another horizontal line, followed by another two vertical lines. So it's a simple structure, creating a beautiful tower. Similarly, there is going to be another tower, but it is going to be a little bit less in altitude. So again, you have to start by creating a beautiful triangular shape. No need to hurry at all. Try to draw it with a lot of patients. Try to draw slow and steady. Now again, we are going to complete the second tower by adding a few more vertical lines. One thing that I can tell you is that whenever you are using a brush or a marker, always try to keep your hand very much loose and free. No need to make it stiff. This will help you a lot to draw in a very comfortable manner. Initially, we are creating the outline of the entire urban element, and then we are going to fill in solid black color in the inner portion. So I've connected the towers with a nice building element. And similarly, I'll be adding a few more building elements in the left hand portion. You can observe that we have created a nice beautiful building structure. Now, let us add some nice plantation in the right hand side. It's a very simple and easy technique. You just have to randomly move your marker in this manner. No need to worry about drawing it in the exact same way. You can randomly apply the strokes. Now, I'll be adding a nice window element in the building structure. It is having a semicircular shape on the topmost portion, and you can complete it by getting a nice horizontal line in the bottom part. We can also add a nice fence element. It's a combination of horizontal and vertical line only. Now, using my thick black marker, we are going to apply a nice solid black color to the entire building structure. No need to hurry at all. Use the tip of your marker and slowly start applying the color from the topmost portion. I'm starting from the towers, slowly moving towards the bottom portion. You can observe the way I'm moving my marker in the vertical direction. You can use black water colors. It is fine, but in case you want to get a nice, highly saturated solid black color. It would be better if you use a solid black marker. This will give you a nice saturated black color, and it will be also very easy to apply. Now, slowly, I'll be completing the entire area. Just make sure that you do not apply the marker inside the windows. So be a little bit careful near that particular area. Now, I'll be covering the remaining portion. You can observe the movement of my marker. No need to hurry at all. In case you find that there is any space left in between. You can reapply the black strokes. Now, similarly, I'll be covering the plantation in the right inside as well. Slowly, I'll be adding this beautiful black color. And we are almost done applying a beautiful solid black pach. In case you want to practice the entire sellout on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you want to come towards your final painting. That is absolutely fine. This will help a lot to develop confidence while drawing and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. Now, using my black marker, having a thin tip, I'm just defining the plantation, applying these little strokes in the outline. We can also add a nice vertical line on the towers. So as you can observe that we are done creating a beautiful sellout of the entire building structure. I'll be using my simple black pen to add some random strokes to make the entire painting look a little bit more classic. It's not at all compulsory to do this particular step in case you want to add these random strokes, then it is completely fine. So now you can observe that we are done with the entire sellout. Let us add some minute details using white pen. So you can observe that I'm starting from the left hand portion, adding a horizontal line just below the roof. You can add these minute details like smaller windows. It's not at all difficult. You just have to draw a rectangular shape. Then I'll be adding a nice horizontal line just below the fence element that we have created. You can observe a beautiful contrast between white lines and the solid black color that we have applied. In order to enhance the entire building structure. I have added two vertical lines, and you can fill in these little strokes. It is not at all compulsory for you to add the details in the exact same way I'm drawing right now. In case you want to add the details in your own way and create your own composition. It is absolutely fine. No need to hurry at all. You can just apply these random strokes near the plantation as well to enhance the entire painting. You can observe the way I'm adding these little windows also. Now I'll be adding a simple horizontal line and two vertical lines in the bottom portion to add few more details. If you're drawing with a white pen, always try to keep your hand very much loose and free. No need to make it stiff. This will help you a lot to draw in a comfortable manner, and your hand won't shiver at all. Now, let us add some minute details in the towers also. So I'm just adding these horizontal lines in the triangular roof. You can observe how beautiful these minute details are looking, and then we can add a nice horizontal line in the bottom portion as well. To make the towers look a little bit more aesthetic, we can add these little windows also. So we are almost done adding these beautiful minute details to the entire urban element. You can observe a beautiful contrast of the nice white lines and a solid black background. You can add these little circular shapes in the abstract background also. In case you find that the saturation of your white pen is a little less, then you can reapply these strokes as well. Now, let us add some nice text to the entire painting. I'm writing urban sketching. In case you want to add any other message, it is absolutely fine. You can write it according to your convenience. So we are done with the entire painting. Let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe all the details carefully. I hope that you enjoyed creating this particular painting. Using three basic steps, we completed the entire painting. No need to worry about the output. Just enjoy the process. You are free to experiment and explore. Now let us move towards the next painting. 13. Painting 8 - The Dome: Hey, everybody, you're most welcome to the eighth painting, which is the dome. So as you can observe, I'm ready with my sketchbook and all the art supplies nearby. I'll be using my quill brush of size two, and we're going to apply a coat of water on the entire surface of the paper. Take some good quantity of water and apply a coat on the entire surface in a very random manner only. Make sure that your water coat does not dries before we apply the color. I'll be just taking some deep green and light green together in my quill brush, Slod your brush with a lot of color and water, try to make a good composition of both of them and just simply dab your brush in this random manner, and you'll observe that the color will automatically spread on the entire paper surface. This is basically known as a wet on wet technique in which we apply a thin coat of water initially, and then we apply the color. You can observe the way the color is naturally getting spreaded on the entire paper surface. In case you find that your color is getting finished from the brush, then you can take some more color from the color palette and you can reapply it. You can also dab the brush using the tip of your brush to get this smaller patches of the color. Now, once we are done applying a beautiful abstract background, you can simply take some more color and just tap your finger onto the brush to splatter the color in the outer portion of the entire color patch. No need to hurry at all. It's a very fun step, and no need to worry about getting an exact abstract background that I have created. Yours might vary from mine, and there might be a little bit of difference, and it is absolutely fine. Now, let the background dry for a while, and I'll be using my black marker with a thin tip, which is basically a calligraphy pen. You can use any other good alternative as well to create the outline of the entire urban element. So I'm starting with a beautiful semicircular shape, which is a huge dome basically. You can add a nice patch of solid black color in the topmost portion, connecting it with a small semicircular shape and a vertical line. Then you can complete the entire semicircular shape by adding another horizontal line in the bottom portion, followed by two vertical lines on either sides. In case it might sound a little bit confusing. Just simply observe and follow the steps. I'm connecting another simple semicircular shape on the left hand portion, followed by a simple vertical line. So we are basically creating the outline of the entire building element initially, and then we are going to fill in solid black color in the inner portion. Now, let us add a few more building elements in the right hand side as well. So I've started with a small semicircular shape followed by some nice vertical lines. No need to worry about drawing it in the exact same way I'm drawing right now. In case you want to create your own composition of the entire urban element, it is absolutely fine. You're free to explore. One thing that I can tell you is that whenever you're drawing using a marker or, in fact, you're painting, using a brush, always try to keep your hand very much loose and free so that you can apply the color in a very comfortable manner. Now, I'll be using my thick marker, and I'll be applying solid black color to the entire structure. You can observe the way I'm moving my marker. They are applying the color in smaller portions by just applying it in vertical direction. Now, in the entire tower, we are going to apply solid black color. I have left some space in between in case you want to. You can definitely do that. No need to hurry at all. Just apply the color in a slow and steady manner. You can already observe a beautiful contrast of this solid black color with the abstract background that we have created in the background. I'll simply move towards the right hand side and slowly cover the entire area as well. While using a thick marker, you can always make sure that you use the tip of the marker wherever there are smaller portions to apply the color. So now you can observe that I have completed the entire sill out. Now let us add some plantation in the left hand portion. I'll be using my marker with a thin tip, and you just have to randomly apply the line in this format. Now, once you have drawn the entire line, we're going to fill in solid black color in the remaining portion. I'll be again using my thick marker. You're going to start from the topmost portion and slowly we'll be covering the entire area. No need to hurry at all. Just try to apply the solid black color in a slow and steady manner. You can observe the way I'm adding this beautiful solid black patch. You can connect it with the sellout that we have created in the bottom portion. So now there is a good combination of some plantation in the left hand side, a beautiful building element in the right hand side as well. In case you want to create your own composition and want to place the elements according to your convenience. That is completely fine. You're free to explore. So to define the entire plantation a little bit better and to make the outline look a little bit more aesthetic. You can use your thin marker and apply these little strokes around. You can observe that we are almost done with the sellout connecting it with the urban element in the bottom portion. I'll be just using my simple black pen to add some random strokes. It's a very simple and easy technique. You just have to take your black pen and apply these strokes in a random manner. Now, let us add minute details using our white pen. Okay. So I'm basically starting from the topmost portion, adding these little horizontal lines. Now to enhance the dome, you can just add these curved lines. No need to hurry at all. Try to add the details in a very slow and steady manner. You can observe the way I have connected the entire roof with this beautiful horizontal line. In case you find that the white color that you're applying is less in saturation, you can reapply the strokes on that to increase the saturation of the color. You can add these little rectangular shapes to the bottom of your horizontal line to add some minute details to the entire painting and to make the entire painting look a little bit more aesthetic. It is not at all compulsory for you to add the white details in the same way I'm drawing right now. In case you want to explore and experiment with the details, you're free to do that. So you can definitely add the details according to your convenience. I'll be adding some minute details in the building element that is on the right hand side as well, combining it with these little curved strokes and these little windows. You can already observe a beautiful contrast of the white lines with the solid black background that we have created. You can also add these minute details by creating these little strokes just below the horizontal lines. One thing that I can tell you is that whenever you're using a pen or a brush, always try to keep your hand very much loose and free. No need to make it very much stiff. This will help your lot to draw in a comfortable manner. Also, in case you're not that much confident enough to add the details using your white pen directly towards your painting. What you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you can come towards your final painting. This will help your lot to develop confidence while painting, and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. So in the main building structure where we have the huge dome, I have added a big window, having a semicircular shape on the topmost portion, combined it with two vertical and horizontal lines, and you can add a few more strokes to make it completely white. Now, I will randomly apply these circular shapes in the abstract background using my white pen to make it look a little bit more aesthetic and attractive. So we are almost done adding minute details using our white pen. Now, let us add some text to the entire painting. So I'll be using my black pen, and we are going to write urban sketching in case you want to write any message according to your convenience. It is absolutely fine. So we are done with the entire painting. Let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe all the details carefully. You can observe that using three basic steps, we have completed the entire painting. No need to worry about the output. Just enjoy the process, and you're free to explore and experiment. I hope that you enjoyed creating this particular painting and got to learn something new. Now let us move towards the next painting. 14. Painting 9 - The Gate House: Hey, everybody, you're most welcome to the ninth painting, which I have named as Gate House. So as you can observe, I'm ready with my sketchbook and all the art supplies nearby. I'll be using my quill brush of size two, and we're going to apply a nice coat of water on the entire surface of the paper. No need to hurry at all. Just take some good amount of water and make sure that the coat does not dry before we apply the color. Now, using the same quill brush, make a good combination of deep green and light green together. Load your brush with a lot of color and simply dab it onto the paper surface. You will observe that the color will automatically spread on the entire paper surface. And this is basically known as a wet on wet technique in which we apply a nice coat of water initially and then color. You can use this particular technique wherever you want to create any abstract effect using water colors. Slowly, I'll be applying the color in the bottom portion as well. In case you find that your color is getting finished from the brush, you can definitely take some more color from the brush and apply it in the remaining surface. No need to hurry at all, try to do it in a very slow and steady manner. Now, we are going to splatter some color, so just simply tap your finger onto the brush and you'll observe that the color will splatter on the surface of the paper. It's a very fun and easy step. No need to worry about getting an exact abstract background the way I have created, your background might vary from mine, and it is absolutely fine. Now, once we are done with the abstract background, let it dry for a while. Now, once your background is dry, we can start by creating the outline of the entire urban element, which is the entire building structure. So I'm starting by creating a beautiful triangular roof. So it's a simple triangular shape, followed by two vertical lines. No need to hurry at all. Try to draw it in a very slow and steady manner. Then similarly, we're going to add two more vertical lines to increase the height of the entire structure. There is going to be a nice triangular roof in the bottom portion. So we're going to add two slant lines connected to the first structure. So we can consider the bottom structure as a house, and you can add two more vertical lines to complete the entire building structure. Now, there is going to be a nice plantation in the right hand portion, so you just have to randomly create an outline. You can similarly add a nice bush in the left hand portion as well, and we can add two little towers connecting to one of the slant roofs in the left hand portion. You can observe the way I'm using the tip of my marker to create this beautiful building structure. One thing that I can tell you is that whenever you are drawing or painting using a brush, always make sure that you hold your pen or brush in a very comfortable manner. You have to keep your hand very much loose and free. Now, we are going to add few windows in the entire building structure. So I've added a small semicircular shape on the topmost portion, followed by two vertical and one horizontal line. And in this particular area, we are not going to fill in solid black color. So now I'll be using my thick black marker, and we are starting from the topmost portion. You can observe the movement of my marker. It's a simple vertical movement. Slowly apply it in the entire area, and you can observe the way it is converting into a beautiful fill. No need to hurry at all. Try to apply the marker in a very slow and steady manner. To paint this sill outt, you can also use black watercolor, but it would be really great if you use a marker. It will be more comfortable and it will be more easy for you to apply the solid black color. And it will also be a little bit more saturated than watercolor. You can already observe a beautiful contrast of the solid black color with the abstract background that we have created. Whenever you're using a pen or a brush, always make sure that you keep your hand very much loose and free. Also, in case you're not that much confident enough to draw the sellout directly towards your final painting, and you do not want to spoil your beautiful abstract background. What you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you can come towards your final painting. This will help your lot to develop confidence while drawing and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. Now you can observe that I have completed the entire sellout of the building structure. Now I'll be using a simple black pen to add these random strokes around the painting. It is not at all compulsory to add this particular step in case you want to make it look a little bit more abstract and classic. You can do that. I'll be using my white pen to add some minute details to the entire painting. We are starting from the topmost portion where we have this beautiful triangular roof. I'll just add a simple horizontal line. And then we are going to follow by adding vertical and horizontal lines together. I'm also going to add these little windows, which is going to enhance the entire building structure. You can already observe a beautiful contrast of the solid white color with the black background that we have created. No need to hurry at all. Try to draw it with a lot of patients. Also, no need to worry about drawing it in the exact same way I'm drawing right now. You can add the details according to your convenience as well. It is completely fine. So you can carefully observe the way I have created a nice triangular roof in the house element as well. You can add these minute details by creating these little strokes just below the horizontal line. This particular part of adding minute details using a white pen is really exciting, and you'll definitely enjoy the process. Also, in case you're not that much confident enough to add the white pen details directly towards your final sell out. What you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially. And then you can come towards your final painting. This will help your a lot to develop confidence while drawing and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. If you observe carefully, it's a combination of horizontal and vertical lines only. You just have to match them and create these beautiful details. And let me tell you one thing, that no need to worry about perfection. It is absolutely fine. You can just randomly create these strokes. I'll be adding a few more random strokes near the plantation, and you can add these little circular shapes in the abstract background using your white pen only. And we are done adding manu details using our white pen. I'll be using my black pen to add some text to the entire painting. I'm going to write urban sketching. You can write any message according to your convenience. It is absolutely fine. So we are done with the entire painting. Let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe all the details carefully. In case you find that the saturation of your white pen is a little bit less. You can reapply these strokes. It is absolutely fine. I hope that you enjoyed creating this particular painting and got to learn something new. No need to worry about the output. You're free to explore and experiment. Now let us move towards the next painting. 15. Painting 10 - Curtain Wall: Hey, everybody, you're most welcome to the tenth painting, which is the last class project, which I have named as curtain wall. So I'm ready with my sketchbook. We are going to start with the first step, which is applying a nice coat of water on the entire paper surface. No need to hurry at all, take some good amount of water and apply it in this random manner only. Now, we are going to take some deep green and light green together, load your brush with both the colors, and then simply dab your brush onto the paper surface. You'll observe that the color will automatically spread on the entire paper surface. And this is basically known as a wet on wet technique in which we apply a nice coat of water initially, and then color. You can observe the way the color is spreading, and it is also a very fun part. No need to hurry at all. Try to do this particular step in a slow and steady manner. In case you find that your color is getting finished from the brush, you can definitely take some more color from the color palette. If you observe carefully, there is a different saturation of the color in all the portion. And it is absolutely fine since we want to create a beautiful abstract background. Make a good composition of water and color together and simply tap your finger onto the brush and splatter the color on the remaining surface. No need to worry about getting an abstract background completely similar to mine. Your background might vary, and it might have a little bit of difference, and it is completely fine. Now, let the background dry for a while. Once your background is dry, you can use your marker, which is basically a solid black marker with a thin tip, and we're going to start from the topmost portion. This time, the building structure is going to be a little bit bigger. So I'm starting by creating two vertical lines followed by one horizontal line. There is going to be a nice roof that we are going to create using the marker directly. So you can observe that I'm starting by creating the outline first, and then we are going to fill in solid black color in the inner portion. I have added two vertical lines on either sides to complete the building structure. So if you observe carefully, it's a combination of vertical and horizontal lines together. If required, you can add some slant lines also in between. If you want certain spaces to not have solid black color, you can definitely draw its outline initially. Whenever you're using a sketch pen or a pen, or even a brush, make sure that you keep your hand very much loose and free. No need to make it very much stiff. This will help you a lot to draw and paint in a very comfortable manner. So I've added a nice bush element, which is a part of a plantation on the left hand side, connected with the entire building structure. Now there are going to be these little three cutouts, which is a part of the window where we are not going to apply solid black color. So you can create its outline initially only. I'll be using my solid black marker with a thick tip to apply a solid black color to the entire building element. No need to hurry at all. You can observe that I'm applying the black color in smaller portions and completing the entire sellout. In case there is any space left in between the entire sellout. You can definitely reapply the strokes using your marker. You can also use black watercolor to apply black color to the entire sellout, but it would be better if you use a marker. This will give you a higher saturated color. And it will be also more comfortable for you to apply solid black color using this nice thick marker. So you can observe that I'm adding the black color in the building structure as well. Be a little bit careful near the windows. You can use the tip of your marker to apply the color in smaller area. Slowly, I'm going to cover the entire area, and in the bottom portion, I'm just leaving the strokes in a random manner only. In case you're not that much confident enough to paint or draw the entire sellout directly towards your final painting, and you do not want to spoil your beautiful abstract background. What you can do is you can practice it on a rough scrape of paper initially, and then you can come towards your final painting. This will help your lot to develop confidence while drawing and painting, and the chances of making mistakes will be very less. You can observe carefully that I left three beautiful rectangular spaces in between, using my marker directly only, and it's a very abstract and random move. So no need to worry about perfection. I'll be using my black pen to add these random strokes around the entire sill out. To make this lout look a little bit more aesthetic and elegant. Now, we are going to use our white pen to add some minute details. So I'm going to start by adding these little circular shapes in the background, and then you can start with the building structure by adding these little horizontal line. I'm starting from the topmost portion, you can add little strokes to add minute details. If you observe carefully, it is a combination of horizontal and vertical lines together. To enhance the windows, you can add one single vertical stroke on one side of the entire window. Adding these beautiful minute details to the entire structure will enhance the entire painting. You can also observe a nice contrast of the solid white line that we are creating. In case you find that the saturation of the solid white line is a little bit less. You can reapply the strokes. It is completely fine. Now, slowly, I'm moving towards the bottom area, adding horizontal and vertical lines together. A curtain wall is basically a part of a castle only where you have a lot of openings and cutouts, as you can observe in this particular painting. So we have left a lot of rectangular spaces in between. We are adding these little windows also. One thing that I would like to tell you all is that no need to worry about adding the details in the exact same way I'm adding or drawing right now. You can create and explore according to your convenience as well. So in case you want to add the details, according to your way, it is completely fine. Also in case you want to experiment with the entire sellout, which we have created using solid black color. That is also completely fine. I'm adding a beautiful window in the bottom portion, having a small, semicircular shape on the top and followed by two vertical and one horizontal line. You can add a little bit of depth by adding a few more strokes in certain areas. We are almost done adding a few minor details. I'll be adding a few more details in the bottom right corner. In case you find that the saturation of the white color is a little bit less on the solid black surface. You can definitely reapply the white strokes. It is completely fine. So we are done adding beautiful details using white pen. You can add these little circular shapes in the abstract background to create some more aesthetics. Now I'll be using my black pen to add some text. I'm going to write urban sketching. You can write any message according to your convenience. It is completely fine. And we are done with the entire painting. Let me take you a little bit closer so that you can observe all the details carefully. This is our tenth and last painting of the entire class. I hope that you enjoyed creating this particular painting and got to learn something new. No need to worry about the output. Just enjoy the process. Now, let us move towards the next part. 16. Class Conclusion: Hey, every buddy. I hope that you enjoyed the entire class and got to learn something new.
