Here are my class projects - I experimented with graphite mark making but found that to be too low contrast so then switched to black gel pens. I also used coloured pencils and pens. I tried both scribbling over the paint and around it to get different effects. I think my favourite is the green and teal version, which reminds me of a treasure map! 

Using that same colour scheme I also did another version as a birthday card - possibly not my finest work but good enough!! I felt constrained by my wish to have something non-abstract on the card (I chose the number "60" but was also wondering if I could have incorporated "happy birthday" somehow). I think I'd have rather stuck a cut out greeting/ number on top, but couldn't work out how to make it look like it "matched" the abstract underneath, so this is the version I went with.
