Photograph your lunch at a restaurant.
ASSIGNMENT
Your assignment is to go out to a restaurant, order a few dishes, and photograph them in a flattering and enticing way. I recommend going out at lunch for a few reasons: you'll get the best natural light, the prices are more affordable, and you can linger longer than during dinner. More time to get the perfect shot!
Your goal is to make the food look great. Feel free to shoot on either a DSLR or iPhone camera — I do both, and so can you. The important thing is to find great light and thoughtfully compose your image. Ask your server which dishes look interesting. Remember that the best food photography is relatable: ask yourself, is this something I want to eat?
Feel free to share the full story of your lunch. Show me the dish, restaurant details, and maybe even a few action shots. Get creative.
DELIVERABLE
Upload 3-5 photographs of your lunch at a restaurant.
