1. Webinar Success Part 3 Introduction: Hello and welcome to part three off my design, your webinar presentation course on In this part three. We are going to concentrate on really getting your presentation up to scratch. So welcome to the course. Great to have you here. And I'm really glad you've involved. I hope you're going to get an awful lot from this course that I prepared for you. My name is John Colley. I'm the six minute strategist. I've got over 33,000 students in my courses in 175 countries. So I really hope you I'm gonna benefit from the experience that I've already got. This course is all about taking your webinar presentation to the next level. You can do some really detailed work on it in order to turn it into a real step by step presentation to take you through the whole process off a webinar from start to finish on. The benefits of this are that this presentation is going to be really well organized, very systematic on enable you to deliver fantastic value to your audience. Now, this course is for you. If you are looking to create any sort of webinar. So if you're interesting, Webinars. Then I've created this. I really hope you're going to find it a very helpful on straightforward exposition off the art of creating webinars. Now I've broken this course into several parts are on this platform, and you may find it helpful if you haven't already taken parts one and two to go back and do those first. But if you haven't, then you You still want to press ahead with this, you'll you'll still be able do it and still get a lot from it. But you'll find it better if you actually go through parts 12 1st Now the course project for this is really developing your webinar presentation into a lot more detail. So you really going to fill in a lot of the gaps if you like a lot of the pages between the different sections that we've already looked at in parts one and two on Really What I'd like you to do is to share your projects in the course, obviously, or screen ships, screen shops, your tips, anything like that put it in the Project gallery. It really helps, and it makes it a lot more interesting. Of course, If you want Teoh, reach out to me. I'm here to help us. Well, so it be great to see you on here from you and engage with you to see how you're getting on with your webinar presentation. So congratulations for enrolling in the course. Great to help you here, Onda. Let's kick off. Let's get started. I hope you enjoy the course. This is my webinar success. Part three designing your webinar presentation. I'll see you in the course specially. 2. Introduction to the Designing Your Own Presentation: I just want to cover off with you what you're going to discover in this section which is all about designing your own webinar presentation. Now, So far, I hope you've got a good idea off the key components now that a webinar comprises off and you're beginning to see how the jigsaw puzzle fits together before we go to the third layer of complexity and we really get into the nitty gritty. What I want you to do in this section is to start to put together your own webinar presentation. Now, I've given you as many resources as I can. I've given you some templates. I've given you some advice on how to design a presentation, Although I admit freely designed is not my strong point. I normally rely on the templates provided by keynote, and you could do the same if you're using power point. But I want you to start to draft your presentation now because as you go through each of the next sections of the course, you'll be able to use those to actually fill in the gaps on your own. Presentation on this will make it a lot easier to put your presentation together because what I don't want you to have to do is go through the whole course and then start with literally a blank screen on, then have to build over 100 slides to put your webinar presentation together. So this is what this section is all about. I want to you to now work with me, understand what the templates look like. Understand what's in them. There's lots of detail to help you in there. Andi, I want you to start to put together your own slide deck at this point in the course so that you can build on it as you go through the rest of the course. 3. Designing Your Slide Deck: I want to talk to you about the design of your slide deck, because this follows on from the structure that I explain to you the seven Steps structure . Essentially, you need to work on having at least one slide permitted. So for a 90 minute lecture, that's obviously going to be 90 minutes. But don't be afraid to create more content than you actually need, because you can always skip stuff or or go over quite quickly. Or indeed, before the webinar starts, you can actually just cut it out. So if you're going to go for a 60 minute presentation, you need to cut that down to about 60 slides. But I also want you to think about the core slides that you actually need in every presentation, which I call the anchor slides and the extra proof the extra case studies the extra testimonials, which may enable you to expand your speech your webinar to 90 minutes. Of course, you can also do that by covering points in more detail with a slide, as opposed to just, you know, not having slide there at all. So if you look at the seven stages that I talked about, you can allocate your slides accordingly, and this is an indicative way of showing you. So about 90 minutes and I'm working on, including, on this particular case, the Q and A in that 90 minutes. So for the start, one minute all very quick and I've got my title slide the hook five minutes, five slides, then go into the the introduction story and tell Tell the the Webinar attendees all about me and how I came to be where I am. So that's 15 minutes. 15 slides. The core content where you're teaching 30 to 40 minutes so that's around 40 slides their new transition to the pitch for about 20 minutes. So you're looking about 20 slides and then finally, at the Q and A at the end, you only really need one slide for the Q and A to say it's the Q and A. But this will give you the outline framework that you can start working on to create your webinar. And of course, the same thing applies them, but with a lower number of slides to the 60 minute webinar, and again you got some numbers on the screen here. So by setting out this framework in this way, you are making it easy to make sure that your your the the presentation that you actually put together is going to be consistent with the length off the webinar that you want to produce and therefore you are adapting the framework off the seven step framework for the webinar to your slide presentation and making them line up. 4. Designing Your Presentation: I want to spend a few minutes now talking about how you design your presentation. The first thing you really must do when you set out is to have an outline structure, a framework in your mind about how you're going to deliver your content, because without that framework you're likely to go off track. And I'm certainly going to help you with that. In this course. I'm no great designer. I have to admit that. But you need to make sure that your slides are clean and not cluttered on that you have relatively little words on them. By all means use pictures. But the principle that less is mawr, I think, is one which is really worth ramming home. So if your slides are looking really complicated and really busy and all, the Vester then actually strip some stuff out and try to get the message very easy to understand. What you don't want your audience to be doing is spending a long time reading and trying to understand your slide. While you really want their attention on you and what you're saying to them, you'll see with these slides, I'm using a very simple dissolve transition. Keep it very simple. Don't have lots of different transitions and don't have these funny ones. Where pages turning the curtains and all the rest of it. Keep it absolutely a simple as possible. And on that theme, resist the temptation to use Mickey Mouse animations. You don't actually need them. You don't even need words coming in on the page. Just keep each slide static and very simple one. It's a lot less for you toe worry about when you actually presenting your presentation, because once you start having multiple animations on a page, you need to make sure they're all in the right order. You may need to make sure you remember when you have to push the button to make the next one come on. So from a delivery point of view as well as an aesthetic point of view, it's much simpler to keep it simple. Use consistent. It's consistent styling, so have no more than two fonts and keep it. Keep it very straightforward. I again, I stress I'm node no designer. I wouldn't know where to start to make things look really well and actually taken even simpler approach, which I'll come onto. But don't have more than two funds is really good advice. Now what I do is I use an absolutely standard keynote template. I picked one I like, and I stick to it. I don't mess it about I don't change the funds. I might increase the size of the writing, but that's about as far as I g. O I'm Keynote and Apple. And indeed, PowerPoint and Microsoft have gone to a lot of trouble to design these templates and therefore take advantage off their design skills to make your presentations look very simple and elegant. Apple particularly. I like their simplicity and their elegance, coming back to the Steve Jobs ethos off very simple design. And I love the images and the and the templates they produce. And I would recommend, if you've got a Mac, then just stick to those after all these have been designed for you use thumb. If you're trying to work out how much content you're going to get in, I'd recommend that actually, what you do is you create too much content on. Then is your running through and rehearsing you compare back. It's very difficult to start adding extra stuff in if you If you don't think your content, your presentation, your webinars gonna run on the long enough. So if in doubt produced too much and then edit back is good advice, You need to know what stories you're going to tell, and you need to know where you're going to bring them in and again. Rehearsing your presentation is a great way to find out where the stories work best, but stories sell, so make sure you have plenty of them built into your presentation. I like to have my logo on the page of her. I put mine in the center of the bottom, but you can put a bottom left or bottom might keep it small. But make sure you have consistent branding on the slides so that people know who you are and what your brand means. Now, if you want to use images, I think I've already pointed you towards the free site that I use, which is picks obey dot com. I've also got a subscription to another paid site, but I don't want to be trying to sell you Additional costs don't sell you sites, so picks obey is is creative Commons attribution free. Very simple to use. They've got some great images, so I'd stick with those. So that's some really straightforward hints on how to design your presentation. I hope you find those guidelines helpful on it will help you reduce even more effective presentations than you are already now. 5. Key Slides to Include in Your Webinar: I want to take a little closer look at the key slides that you should be, including in your webinar, or at least it's still quite a high level of you. But at least some of the key milestones you're going to need to have the first of these is obviously the title side. Now let me introduce a thought here. You might want tohave to title slides so you have one which you put up pre the webinar whenever he's waiting and you might put a countdown timer on that said its accounts down to the time of the webinar. That's quite a good little tip on. Then you have your main title slide when the webinar absolutely starts on time, then obviously you're going to need your personal interests like now this needs a good, clear picture of you on. I would suggest about three clear bullet points, which really frame you, your achievements and your expertise so you keep it very brief. But you really want to make sure people understand who it is that is addressing them, because the audience may not all be familiar with who you are. Then you might like to think about including what I call a sponsor slide. Now, if you're giving the presentation and obviously is your product, obviously you're not sponsoring the webinar. But what you're trying to do is indicate to people that at the end of the webinar, you're going toe have something for them that they may wish to invest in by way of an offer on. The idea here is to cede the thought with them that there's something coming up at the end that they might want to stay around. For now. This is separate to the suggestion that you offer them at the this stage in the webinar. A bonus for staying till the end of the Q and a session. That's a different topic. What you're doing here is ceding your main offer at right very early on. Then you need to have a slide or a syriza slide, which basically explains what they can expect from the Webinar. The benefits are perhaps an outline of the agenda. This is really all about hooking them in the hook section, which talks them into the webinar. Then you need some sort of proof, and this is really wrapped up in the introduction section where you're introducing the topic in some detail on you're giving them the the evidence that you have the credibility to be the expert that they want to learn from. Now. This can include case studies, some results. You've achieved your own personal achievement and testimonials. So think about how you're gonna mix that blend in as part of your introduction package, which is really establishing the proof that you're the right person to be giving the Webinar. Then it's the core content which needs to be absolutely fantastic and immediately usable and actionable. So that's another way of looking at that section. Then, as you move towards transition, a technique which is quite good is to actually ask the question. Have I delivered on my promise and hear what you can do is actually ask people who are attending the webinar to type into the question box or to the I M. Box instant messaging box, something like yes or heck yes or whatever you want to say, but basically get them to take action to confirm that they're happy on. Then you can name checked, um, Andi, thank them for their comment. And if they write longer, comments then definitely read those out as well. So you're watching things. You're lining them up to make them receptive to the idea that you're actually gonna gonna pitch them something. Then you need the section of which is the transition to the pitch. And you need to get them from from the information you provided them to the actual pitch itself on their various techniques for doing that, which I am going to be going into. Then you have finally, the clothes section and there's lots toe be talked about on that. But at this point, I want to keep it fairly brief so that you understand that you know, the framework is developing and becoming more complex. But I don't want to overload you too much at this point. So those are some of the key slides you're going to need in your webinar, and you need to be adding these to the, um, the framework that you're now beginning to put together. So I hope you found that helpful. We're obviously going to develop these themes in a lot more detail, but I want to build it up with you gradually 6. Outline Template: before I dive into the main detailed outlined template. I just want to show you the main structure again, Aunt, to attach to it some indicative timings. So your pre webinar slide needs to have your title on it and things maybe a countdown timer on. And you need to come on 15 to 30 minutes before the webinar starts so you can do all your technical checks and everything. So that's your starting point. At least 30 minutes, I would recommend before the webinar starts and start warming things up. Then you have your main title side in the webinar starts, so this is very straightforward. Then look at your hook, which is 1 to 5 minutes, basically what people can expect in their webinar. The next section is the introduction where you're going a lot more into your story on building your supper as an authority, and this could be a 7 to 10 minutes section. Then you transition to the core content, which, depending on the length of your webinar, could be 30 to 40 minutes. And this is a very detailed section, obviously, where you are doing your main selling and sharing of your knowledge, their new transition to your pitch, which is perhaps 1 to 5 minutes. This needs to be quite subtle, and I have shown you have to do this. And then finally you have your pitch, which is 10 to 15 minutes on. This is where you do the core of your selling. The final section is the cure in a which should be at least 50 minutes, maybe 30 minutes, and indeed of people stood on It should be a lot longer. So that's just a refresher for the outline structure. I'll make this template available to you both in a power point and keynote format as a ZIP file. So if you want to pick this up and start working with it, you can. 7. Webinar Template Detailed Outline: So now I want to take you on a detailed walk through this template, which you are going to be able to use because I'm gonna make it available to you in both power point and in keynote versions. This is the front page where you start pre webinar. Maybe you have a countdown timer on it, then you obviously need your main amazing webinar opening page, perhaps with your image on it. Certainly with your title on it, it needs to be big and bold and very graphic and really eye catching of attention. The next light I think you need is an agenda slide just to manage expectations. And in particular, I think you should be letting people know how long the webinar is like to go on so you can get them to feel that they got a set amount of time that they're going to commit to this. And of course, you want them to stay on and you explain the key segments. If you got a sponsor, then maybe you bring it in. At this point, there's definitely an opportunity here to cede your product or service right at the end. If you can do it subtly, but this slide might be an optional one. Then you need to personally introduce who is going to be on the webinar, you and your host. Or maybe it's just you. Andi. Just provide two or three points which frame you and your expertise. Trans breakers are quite important, and you should be using them throughout your webinar. But I have any use one example here because it could be a bit repetitive, but certainly think about them. And that's really to ask your audience questions regularly. Ideally, lots questions that require yes answers. Get them to type yes, in the comments section off the webinar software. But this is a good place to start engaging with them. And don't forget, in the pre party before you started the webinar, you would also be in engaging with them. Then you get right into the meat of the webinar, which is the hook, what to expect in the webinar. What they're going to get out of it now. I'm not going to Riedel the points on every screen for you because you can do that yourself when you download them. But the hook is really important to get people feeding, they're going to get something incredibly valuable out of the webinar. Then you need them to really focus on what you're gonna be talking to them about. And so what I encourage you to do here is to tell them to turn their phones off, to turn off their email to get into a quiet room on, get ready to take notes because they're going to get some fantastic content here. Here is where you try to entice them to stay until the end of the webinar. So you make it clear that there's an unannounced bonus which they're going to be able to get providing. They're going to be with you at the end off the Q and a session. This bonus has to be consistent with the theme off the top of the topic of the Webinar. Then you're moving into the introduction section, and this is really about explaining who you are, establishing your authority and telling your personal story because they really want to get into this. So you need to spend time here working with your audience to help them, to get to know you and in that process, to like and trust you and then hopefully at the end, I'll pay you so you're building trust. You can bring in case study statistics, testimonials. However you do it, there is definitely a program to be done here on A. It's a very important part of the whole webinar process that you have this section in here and you do it properly. So talk about your experience with speaking engagements or white papers and things. So putting in some social credibility about you know what you've done in the past on why you're the authority. The is uniquely qualified to speak on this topic. Social proof. Is it very important? Andi, you should be delivering testimonials, and there's various other suggestions on how you can deliver that on the page. But this is an important place to bring in. People who are basically or third parties are basically endorsing you For your expertise. Tell your story. In this process, you need to have a three part story. Think about the hero's journey, your where you were when you were struggling like urinating audiences. How you then became better at what you do. You the process you went through the struggling went through and then the breakthrough you made in the success you've achieved, so definitely bring a story in different ways of pitching. That story are illustrated here. David versus Goliath, Contrarian stories where you were the against the status quo and you wouldn't accept the norm. But here's it's it's an important part of the introduction. You should make it clear that you are addressing a pain or problem that the audience has, and this has to be. We're woven into this section. Remember pain cells? It's a much higher motivated people to take action than pleasure. And you need to really resonate and then agitate with your audience about the pain they're suffering in terms of style. You need to be relaxed, be conversationally personal, trying to bond with your audience through their with their emotions, because emotion three emotional connection is really important. So there's some suggestions here. You need to expand on the big promise, reference their pain. So the big promises, your hook. It's what you're gonna promising to deliver in this webinar, but you need to connect it back to the pain they're suffering, and I'd really agitated. And by doing that, you're associating yourself with, um on then you need to offer them a breakthrough. This is what they're going to get if they stick around and learn from you. The dispelling off, self limiting objections is really moving them away from the position where they're saying , Well, I'm not good enough. I can't do this. I you know, and you need to get them on your side and really getting to believe that you can help them transition from failure to success on. Then before you go into the core content of your presentation, seed the product or service that you're going to be pitching at the end. So mention it in passing, you know, but don't try and sell it at this point. But you do want to get the thought out there that it is something you're going to be coming back to. Then you get to the core content now. Got a few slides on this for you. This is the main sex section off your webinar. It's potentially 30 to 40 minutes long, but the number of sides I'm showing you on this template is not at all representative of what you're gonna have in your webinar. But it's got some key points, which you can think about and how you're gonna bring it together. The content should be immediately usable. It must give your audience great value and you must over deliver. Don't forget to mix up the style off the content. You need to summarise it at the beginning. Explain to them what they're going to share with them. Then you share it with them and at the end, you're going to wrap up and tell them what you've shared with them. So it's that teaching structure that teaching formula again. Make sure you over deliver, but teach them the what? Don't teach them the how they get the how by buying your product, use numbers and statistics to build credibility. The return on investment they're going to get because this will help to cement in their mind the value of your product or service. You need to give them the thought in this that although they might be able to do what you're teaching them without you, it's gonna be very much more difficult. Take a long time and they may not be able to build a sustainable business without you. So you need to give them lots of reasons why they actually want to do it with you. Then you take them through your core content, that step by step solution, the blueprint, whatever you're going to teach them on this needs to go on for is a said about 25 or 30 minutes. If you are teaching them something where it's suitable, have a demo, then by all means include the demo. Bring in case studies and testimonials. I think that speaks for itself. Um, you can present your core content in different ways. You can give them five things not to do or seven things not to do where you can have a checklist or a case study or a journey. How you went from a two said. However you're teaching it. There are different ways to put this this content at out there to make it interesting. Then you get to the really interesting bit, which is how you transition to the pitch, and this needs to be seamless but not done in there. I'm now going to transition to the pitch type mode, so you just keep flowing at this point. Do Perhaps you asked him the question. Have I delivered on the content. You really happy? You got a lot from it and you want to get lots of positive affirmations There definitely name checked people. It's great social proof, but it also re engages people's attention. And then you say something like, Well, if you love what I've given you free today, you're gonna absolutely adore the rest of what I'm going to show you. Are you happy for me to tell you about it? And you've built up because you've given them so much a degree of reciprocity. So they're going to feel that they owe you. Andi, they're gonna be prepared to listen to you. So here's some suggestions about transitions to the pitch. When I paired this presentation together had two options, I could have given you some cool stuff and walked away, or I could have extended a special Often. Here's a special offer so you can see the how that's this works. Here's another structure bridging the gap between you information. You can read it for yourself, and then you get into the pitch and the pitch is a sequence which is pretty well laid down and easy to follow. Um, you should start to talk about your product or service, but at the same time trying to throw in more actionable content on Make sure you're stressing the benefits, um, encourage them, even if they're not gonna buy your product to make sure they go and learn it from somewhere else. Explain who the product is. Four. And really, what you're trying to do is to make them associate with the types of people that this product is designed for. But at the same time, you can take them, take away and say who is not for and tried to get them to disassociate themselves with their sorts people. And then you explain exactly what your product is about, and then you need to give them a step by step, detailed breakdown explanation off what your product is and when it does, and the benefits for them on you go deep, because that way you don't leave them guessing about whether the product is for them. You need to acknowledge the risk they might be feeling. This may not be for you, but then you bring in your guarantee ideal 30 day guarantee on. Then you talk about the investment. Don't talk about the price we talked about the investment, but you can start off by saying the regular prices X about there's a special price for the webinar one payment off and then you make sure that link is up and that they can access the content through the link, and that link needs to be on the web on the webinar needs to be clickable, encourage them, Teoh the fact that they're going to make a saving on. Then you get into your bonuses and you start talking about the bonuses they're going to get . And every time you give them a bonus, you give them the title of it description, the key benefit, and you should put the value on it as well. So here your bonuses. Next, you transition to scarcity, and you make sure that they understand that they need to take action now because if they don't, they're not gonna be able to get either these bonuses or this price in the future. Then you have a court action. You show them again how to get it, how to order, and you explain exactly, step by step what they have to do in order to buy your product. There must be no ambiguity here. Then you remind about the benefits of your product. Maybe if you've got them, you throw in another bonus and don't forget to sell. What benefits off those bonuses? Then it's time the court action to and so you give them another call to action. Then you give them another reminder. The risk of a vessel on the guarantee. So your call to action backed up by the guarantee all the risk is on you. And here's some some potential scripting for that. Then if you have another quarter action, you got this special link. And remember, you're reminding them that you know this. The product you're selling them is absolutely comprehensive, and they're going to get everything they need to achieve the success that you've achieved. Maybe at this point you could bring in a testimonial on Did. You can show some examples of either. Some people have said wonderful things about you or people have used your system, and it has worked for them. You might want a bonus training video in here, but that's been entirely optional. Um, and the bonus, you know, would be available only for those who want to act. In the next 20 or 30 minutes, however, you want to do it, and finally you transition to the Q and A. But you reinforce the point that they were a limited amount of time to grab the deal. On that, there's a special link. So then Ugo into the Q and A, and this is very straightforward. When you answer a question, make sure you name the questioner and repeat the question and say Why? It's a good question. And then when you're giving your answers, always make sure that you're referring back to the product on why they that answer ties into the product and its benefits. It's really about you designing your content the way you need to on therefore presenting the sequence off the information in the along the lines of the template so that your the whole sales process is seamless and at the end off the webinar, they will want to buy your product or service 8. Summary and Activity Desigin Your Webinar Slide Deck: I just want to summarize where we've got to at the end of this section, and I want to give you something to do. We've looked so far at the anatomy off a webinar so taken you through its core component parts. Andi, In this section, I've given you some guidance on what to include and how to include it. So now what I want you to do is to open up the template, either in keynote or in PowerPoint, that I provided for you. And I want you to either amend it or maybe even choose your own champ late cause you can go and change the master very easily to change it to something you're happy with. But you'll still keep all the content in the template. And now I want you to start to bring together some thoughts about how you're going to put your webinar together in the next sections. We're gonna look at this in a lot more detail and armed with your template, you're going to be able to start really building up on creating your own webinar. But at this point, I want you to make a start because you'll find it much easier if you're familiar with the whole template and what it contains that as we go through step by step in the remainder of the course, you will be able to fill in much more easily the content that you're going to include in your webinar. So that's the activity I want you to do. I want you to You get stuck into it. You will be able to refine it in as you go through it subsequently.
