1. Introduction: travel. Sketching is one of the best ways to get the sense, and as a spear off the new place, you're traveling to taking your time to truly observer place in order to sketch it. To stay there for more than a few minutes is to be fully present at the moment to enjoy Hello and thank you for joining me in this quest. This is the fourth class off travel sketching course. There you will learn about all kinds off aspect of terrible sketching, like capturing the impression off architectural landscapes, cityscapes on and much more with the practical demonstrations and basis in the previous classes. Off these cars to be learned toe about creating architectural cityscapes and just say so. If you haven't seen them yet, you can find them in my profile. In this class, we will continue the Charles catching course with learning on home to sketch and capture the atmosphere off landscapes. I must say that it's one of my most favorite things to sketch. I think it's hard to find something more inspiring than nature. Then you're somewhere in the mountains or near the ocean. You don't have to search for inspiration just everywhere surrounds you in this class. I will show you what to begin with, How to capture the your inspiration in tow. Your sketchbook creates your old impression off the landscape and capture its board atmosphere. 2. Where To Begin: sketching landscapes can be very rewarding. I think that the hardest part off capturing the beauty off nature used to stop. It's especially great if you can support some price or sunset in your sketchbook, which will give you so many vibrant colors to you. Sir, in your sketch landscape sketch is usually not less complex, as, let's say, cityscapes. That's why I like getting their more expression, some unexpected colors or movements. When you start working on your sketch, ask yourself what feeling these landscapes give you. Do you feel relaxed and peaceful? Or maybe ocean faves crashing into the ropes are given your energy and poverty fuel to your impression, your feelings through the colors and shapes you will. He was in your sketch. In the next lesson, I will show you how I create landscape sketch on how I try to capture my impressions off landscape 3. Medium & Materials: For these class, I'm gonna need a middle sized sketchbook oil pastel and a reference photo. There's a wide variety off me doom and materials you can use, like $40 oil, pastel markers and pencils and much more just the medium. You feel comfortable working and traveling with speaking about sketchbook in every travel, sketching glass. I empathize to my students that the small side sketchbook might help you to go off unnecessary and over lemming details. It will remind you that the most important here is to catch the feeling of the place not to create its exact copy as referenced. What? This cage? I will be using a photo I took on my seven day hike through Carpathian Mountains. You can use your own photo reference, maybe a photo off landscape into going last trip. But if you like, before I'm using and 4. First Draft: and resources section. When it comes to creating landscape sketches, the simplest way to start peace to start with the horizon line, it will be the first step off to find it of humane, biggest shapes for composition and the ground off. Your sketch, started with a few simple lines, will also help you to overcome been Congress intimidation as you can always fix them. So, as you can see on the's first stage, I've created Teoh Horizon Line and also entered the film big shapes for woods and Hills. These sketches were simple, composition wise. 5. Adding Background Colors: No. When we have defined two main shapes for the sketch, we can start 18 colors to them. This will help you to make color statement for his cage and create is out of the ground. I usually like to start with. This guy looks really great on the reference photo. I want to save it in my sketch to, but I will simplify it to the toilet. So I'm starting with the boom. I live in a few blanks here and there. And now I will block the blanks with being color also makes in a little bit with blue to create the complex color for this guy. And I'm blending. It's a little bit with my fingers just to create a smoother transition and unfinished line for this guy. I will also add, uh, some hero here, too. Great. A kind of sunset swipe for the Skype. Now let's add the ground colors to the heels and boots. I'm going to keep it simple and try not to overthink it because this is just the first layer off color. There are more layers to come. I'm starting with these help fields. They look amazing on this photo. So I will book these areas with bright yellow and we'll proceed to the boots after that. On this stage, I only want to add green colors here. As letter, I will add more complex shapes and colors to these areas. There's a few more heels to take care off to this big one. I will softly add green color, and I will vent it with my fingers little bit. By the way, you can also use paper napkins if you don't want to create a math with your fingers. But I personally prefer to ban oil pastels with my fingers. The last part two color here is these fuel closes heels. I really goes here yellow, okra and a little bit of green to in order to make it more conflict. 6. Adding Details: now, when they were added toe the ground color to the sketch waited some color statement. It's time to add more details, smaller shapes and more colors to the sketch. I'm going to start with hoods, so I'm heading here darker green, great short expression lines. Here's a perfect timeto at any small details. You want to appear in your sketch like small bushes and trees. Feel free to modify your catch to feed your impression and composition. It's up to you to choose. Food will be in your sketch. Jazz because you see it on the reference water doesn't mean it has to be in your sketch. We can always at something you don't see on your reference force about you want t be here. In my case, it didn't trees here and there to make this catch more conflicts. - Me and I also want to add this gives more house that creates feeling off peace and solitude . 7. Expressive Colors: - as we proceed thes stage off landscapes. Cation process is crucial in terms of creating expression and because this is the perfect time to transfer your impression from cholera chose on the use of expressive shapes. So don't be afraid to use colors that might seem unexpected or unusual at first sight. For example, here I'm heading Brad Blue to the woods, and I'm gonna use it for the heels to in order to add some kind of consistency to the sketch. I will also add bright reds to the heels, too. This will add more warmth to the sketch as well as more expression, because for me, red is one of the most expressive special colors. Of course, it's up to you bitch colors to use. You can choose any colors you want so that they help you to turn aside your impression of the landscape into the sketchbook. 8. Final Touch: So once you entered last layer off colors to his cage, it's almost done on this stage of sketching. I usually look for things. I maybe want to fix my sketch at the strokes off oil pastel Using sharp Needing a little, I like to scratch the surface of the sketch here and there. In orderto add more texture and expression. You can do it by using any sharp objects you have nearby from the what you edit. Last strokes of colors and texture. Fix everything you wanted. You could finally enjoy the result from. 9. Final Words: so that you Thank you so much for joining me in this class. I hope you liked it. And for your next three people have a sketchbook in your backpack, too. For the perfect Off this class, I want you to choose your medium for terrible sketchy to the photo off landscape took on your last trip. Try to recall the atmosphere your impression off this face on to create a sketch off landscape impression. And please don't forget to a shared in project.
