1. Introduction : Hi guys everyone. My name is A, and I'm an artist,
Prudence illustrator. And during my classes I constantly share the
knowledge that I have about the procreate and water color especially I'm obsessed
with magical themes, cute stuff, and some
vintage illustrations. During my today's classes, we have pretty special topics. Today I decided
to paint with you Waticolor Journalin
in procreate. And if you have some
illustrations that you wanted to paint
for a long time, the pictures that you took
while your traveling journey, my today's class is for you. I will show you a
few techniques, how to sketch in a
fast and simple way. And also, I will
show you a few ways how to add watercolor
paint to your art. Additionally, I prepared for
you lots of stem brushes that will help you to ease your painting
process like a lot. And I hope that today's class
will be fun and useful. So what are the steps that
will follow during my class? First of all, I will
show you where to find all my freebies and I
prepared for you a lot. Second, I will teach you how
to create texture paper, how to reach this authentic watercolor texture
in your digital art. And the step number three
will be the sketches. I will show you the
whole ways how to create different types of sketches and you can decide which
one you like more. Our next step will be the most important is painting process. I will also show you a
few ways how to paint. Starting from loose
watercolor and finishing by well
detailed illustration. And then we're going to add
some text and stem brushes to add those realistic look
to our watercolor journaling. My dear students, I
tried my best to make my class engaging and
relaxing at the same time. Completing the course will
help you to learn more about the watercolor
journaling in procreate. And sometimes it can be so
useful because we want to process our memories
in a creative way. This class is right
what you need guys. I will be very happy to see all your art projects and
give my feedback on them. And also tell me what you
think about my class. Maybe you can suggest me, what are the next
topics you want to see at my channel guys today? I want to show you
that watercolor is so simple and
it's a lot of fun. And in the end of my
class, you can see it. Also, you can try yourself
in totally new style. You can decide the type of
sketches that you like. You can decide the type of watercolor art that
suits you more. So today you can
experiment a lot. So what I can teach you today, first of all, how to
create texture paper. How to create artwork
from the sketch. And how to create sketch. And also we will talk
briefly, what is composition? What is alpha o clipping mask? How to work with scurves, hue, saturation and brightness. And why do we need
blending layer modes? Why they are so important? And why they can change your
illustration dramatically. Of course, I will tell
you how to a chase and highlights and how to add some volume to
your illustration. Yes, I will show you
my whole process from the start till finish. And as a bonus, I
will share with you my texture
paper, custom brush, set color palettes,
sketches that I created, and also my illustrations that paint altogether
during my class. This class is create
for intermediate level, also can be useful
for beginners, especially if you've watched
my previous classes. For everyone who is
interested in painting in water color style and
who likes journalin, I'd use procreate for this class with ipad
and Apple pencil. So if you have it or maybe some other drawing pads or just regular
paper and paints, please join my class. And good luck guys. I can't wait to
start this class. And definitely I
can't wait to see what you app to project section. Please feel free to enroll and let's enjoy our painting
process together.
2. About Class Project: And guys, I decided to change
my style a little bit. So I decided to devote a little bit time to explanation
of our final project. So like I said earlier, we will explore what
are the type of sketches and what are the
type of painting techniques. And our final project will
be very important part, where we're going to combine different types of sketches and different types of watercolor painting techniques altogether. And that's the final project that I will make in my class. But of course, feel
free to experiment. Feel free to try
just one type of sketches or one type of
watercolor techniques. I don't want to pressure you, just think what you would
like to share with me, what you would like to
paint and just do it. I prepared for you some
reference pictures that I took during my
traveling journey. But of course, feel free
to use your own sketches. Feel free to use
your own references. So once again, our final project will be travel illustration
that is created by, you will try to add some text, maybe some stem brushes that will help you
to add some final, beautiful touches to your art. And of course, you can use ipad with apple pencil and procreate. Or feel free to use some
other drawing pads or maybe just watercolor paper and paints or just even pencils. Whatever you like and whatever will help you to feel happy. Guys, I wish you luck with all your painting
illustrations, guys. If you have any questions, you can always ask me in discussion section and I will be happy to help you
in your art chart. Again, what you're going to
do during my, today's class. This is illustration number one. Illustration number two. And the most important,
like I said, final project illustration where we combined the few styles. Here, I think we are ready to get started
and we jump into next part of a class where
I will explain to you where to find all the
freebies and how to use them.
3. Where to Find Freebies: In this part of the class, I will show you where to
find all the freebies. What are the nuances you need to know in order to find them, save them, and export
into the procreate? And I think we are ready
to get started. Hi guys. I'm glad to have
all of you here, and I hope you are
ready to get started. And before we jump into
painting and sketching process, let me explain to you where
we can find the freebies, how to install them and how
to create texture paper. First of all, let's
open procreate, and then we need to tap plus and create
custom sized paper. Then we will write
12.5 " pair 8. ". As you see, we have
300 DBI resolution and depending on your ipad, you will have different
different number of layers. I have 55. Then let's step create that out. Today's paper. As I mentioned in introduction, the topic out today's class is watercolor journal, Travel
Watercolor journaling. I think this class is
useful for those people who tend to capture their
lives, their daily life. Or maybe they like to
travel and they would like to turn the traveling
experience into art. I'm here to explain
to you and show you some examples how
you can do it guys, what I decided to do today about my reference pictures is
slightly different because usually I use pexels or unsplash.com for the source
of my reference pictures. But because our today's
topic is about traveling, so I think it would
be great if you can grab your own picture that you took and that you can
turn into your art project. And I also took
the pictures that I took during my
traveling journey. I will share those
pictures with you. Feel free to use my
pictures that I took, or you can use the
pictures that you were taken during your art
and travel journey. Okay. Where we can
find all the freebies. First of all, my suggestion
to open my class in browser, it can be Rome or
Safari. Why browser? Because if you do it
as skillshare app, my freebies might
not be visible. Then when you open
my class in browser, in a section project
and resources section from the right side to
the headline resources, you can find all my freebies
when you download them, you need to go to files, app downloads folder, you will see all the freebies
that you downloaded. From right side, you
will have procreate. Then from left side is files app if you want you can switch the sites.
It's not a big deal. Then how to export
all the freebies. Here the easiest way
is to drag and drop all the files from files
app into the procreate. In this case, you can just
need to grab for example, this is a color
palette you need to drag and drop it
into the procreate. Then you need to do the
same with the sketches. And, and then you need to do the same with the sketches and
our brush set and paper. Of course, another watercolor
effect paper is here. Watercolor effect, I
just need to drag and drop it into our canvas Guys, when you drag and
drop all the files, please don't forget
to create new layers. Okay, 2024 paper. This is the paper that
I created specially for this today's class and I made it in the shape of a notebook. Another one, we have
so many sketches, so let's copy them as well
and then we can decide which one we will use and
which one are not useful also. Don't worry, I will show you how I made all those sketches. In this case, you don't need to use my pictures if
you don't want to. And you can just go
ahead and create an illustration that is based
on a picture that you took. As you see you guys, I
copied our color palette, which is called Travel
Watercolor Journal. Here I also have my
watercolor sketching brush set that we're
going to use today. I created a lot of new rushes
we're going to use today. Okay, great. So when
we've done with copying all our freebies
into the procreate, then we need to
close our files app. We can do it just by
wiping left. It's fine. If you want, you can cut
the canvas to the size of our paper or you can
extend the paper. I will show you how to do that. I will show you how to do that. Very soon we copy everything, we're going to start with
creating texture paper.
4. Creating Textured Paper: In this part of the class, I will show you how to create texture paper and for
watercolor registration. That's very important. I prepared for you
totally new paper, which is notebook paper
that can help us to reach more realistic look when we talk about the watercolor journaling. But like I said, you can
use the paper that I have. You can use the paper, any paper that you
may already have. And in this part, I will explain to you why it's important to duplicate the paper
layer many times. Why it's important to change
blending layer modes. So please follow my
steps carefully. And like I said, if you
have any questions, I'm always here to help
you in discussion section. Let's do it about the paper. Let's move our layer to the
top of our layers gallery. And let's say with
watercolor effect paper. Wonderful. Now what we should do is we're going to select
those two layers like that. And then we will need to choose the transform tool and make sure that you have the
uniform tool selected. And then let's just move it
to the right a little bit from this side and
from the side. That's basically it. Next thing, if you want to make
your paper pretty sharp and if you don't want
to lose the quality of paper, my suggestion is to go to the paper layer this one and
then we'll go to sharpen. Let's just move the
sharpen to the 15 to 20% like that sharp our
paper and in this case, the quality still looks
more or less pod. Also, as you might see, we have our watercolor
effect paper. Another thing, what
you can do if you want to make it a little
bit more saturated, you can go to curves and play with the intensity
of our paper that's here. The next thing that we're
going to do is we'll come back to our watercolor paper, and then we will change
the capacity to multiply. Duplicate it again. Here
we're going to change the opacity on our second
layer to color burn. Today we will use pretty
advanced settings for our today's class. Let's just duplicate
it again here. We'll go to learn
blendle layer mode. Here guys where
the magic starts, please follow my steps and
I will explain you what I'm doing and why I am
doing the next steps. Wonderful. Next step
that we're going to do, we will duplicate
linear burn again here. We'll go to the add layer here about our
watercolor effect. We're going to go to color
burn blending layer mode. Then we'll move the
color burn opacity, like ten or 8% Okay, let's keep it like this for now. Then we need to duplicate some certain layers
and we need to merge them in order to make our texture paper
more authentic. In this case, we will go to the multiply
blending layer mode. And we will move
to the opacity to around 60% Then we
go to color burn, and we're going to duplicate
this layer one time, duplicate grade and
now merge together. Now we go to the linear
burn blended layer mode, to this layer and we're
going to duplicate it also, then merge together. Next we go to linear
burn opacity, And we're going to
move the opacity to 60 or 50% like that. I will go to 50% Wonderful. Now let's go to Color Burn
and duplicate it again. Go to lower layer and
lower past till also 45 50% Now we will go to the add layer
and lower past till 20, 15% it may be even
11 would be 11% key. Wonderful. The next thing
that we're going to do, select our paper
layers together, then press group, rename and write paper about
our watercolor effect. We're also going to rename
it and write paper effect. For now, the paper effect layer we're going to make invisible. Let's turn off the visibility. And here we have the paper. Why did we need to make
all those steps and make whole life a
little bit more complicated here When we
use the watercolor brushes, when we use them with our paper, and when we use them
without our paper layer, the difference is huge. Next, let's go to my blue hard edge
watercolor brush and paint something like that. You see, thanks to the paper, the watercolor effect
seems very realistic. But when we turn off the paper, you will lose all this watercolor
feeling. I'll show you. You see here like it's
still watercolor, but with paper it
looks more authentic. Also, guys, about
the brightness. If you want to make the paper layer a little bit brighter, you might play with, you see this layer and you can decide whether you want to make
it brighter or lighter. I decided to stick to 17% Also, same about the multiply. If you want to make it brighter,
lighter, more visible, paper less visible also play with the opacity
and liner burn. This is the layer that gives us the darkest wipe from our paper, but I still want to keep it
around 50 or 60% in like 55, because I think having such kind of paper texture
is very important. Okay, Now you know how to
create texture paper For now. We can lock it if you don't
need to use it for now. About the sketches that we have, let's just rename them sketch
one, sketch two, and so on. Okay, I just made some changes
in our layer group names. On the top of our layer groups, we're going to have
the paper layer group. This one guys, please
make sure that you paint underneath
this paper layer group. Because if you paint
like above that, you might lose the
watercolor effect, say about the paper effect. It will go beyond the
paper group, lower layer. We will have the sketches later. We will decide which
one we're going to leave or like I said, you can use the sketches
that you create by yourself. That's
totally fine. Okay, in the bottom we're going to have the
background layer. This one, it's
basically background and a little bit higher we will have the main color layer. This is very important stage, this is the first stage
of our painting process, so we're going to use
it a little bit later, and then we're going to
have shades and highlights, and a little bit later we're
going to add final details where we will add some
stamp brushes and text. Okay, so that's our layers
and I think we are ready to jump into next part where I will show you how
to create sketches.
5. Creating Different Sketches: Finally, in this
part of the class, I'm ready to tell you about
different types of sketches. How to sketch in a fast way. How to sketch in more detailed
and time consuming way. So you can experiment and see
what type of sketches you would like more or you can
try all of them. Let's do it. So we jumped in our
sketching part, and here I will show you the sketches that I prepared
and I will show you the main differences that I have while I was preparing that. We will start with the
simplified shaped sketch and we will go to the
most detailed one. Here's a simplified one
and now I will show you the reference
pictures that I was using while I was creating it. So I need to go to
cannabis tap reference. And here you can select the reference pictures that I have or maybe your own
reference picture. So wonderful, this is hydranga that I
found on the street. I'm a huge fan of hydrangaI, wouldn't just pass by. Of course, I took lots of pictures about this
illustration as you see. Of course, we might paint it in a well detailed way where we can paint like every
petal one by one, like the stem and like every
leaf with all those wins. But I think it's a little bit complicated and when we travel, we might not have
too much time for a colors or sketch in this way. We need to learn
how to make it in a fast way, especially
for flowers. This is my best
technique, best way. How I paint flowers, I use the simplified
shapes technique. What we basically need to do, we see the object, we
see our illustration, and then we need to
break the object into some simple shapes here. We might use hydranga as
ovals that I paint here. Yeah, I have like 123456 ovals. We're going to
have six different hydrangas about the leaves. I paint them as between
ovals and triangles. I decided to make
them different. Obviously, comparing
from flowers, I break the leave
into two parts. In this case, I can
recognize where we have the flowers and
where we have the leaves. Like I said, I didn't
paint all of the leaves. I just selected the
most important ones, and then I paint them. I didn't draw the stems. I didn't connect the petals
all together with leaves. It's not that important for such kind of sketch because you already schematically see
where the objects should be. Thanks for such
kind of sketches. You can create pretty lovely loose watercolor
illustrations. Because it helps, it
gives you freedom to use the space to use the colors and the shapes
in any way you like. For this type of illustrations, those type of flowers, we're going to paint in
loose watercolor style. A little bit more
detailed sketch. I call it Quirky sketch. And here is the way how
to create sketches. And it's pretty simple when you look at the art and
then you just paint it. But you don't need
to be too precise. It helps you also
to save some time. It also gives you some freedom
and it defines your art. You don't need to be too
accurate in your art. And I think for
travel illustration, this is one of the best options. Because like I said, it gives you freedom
and it saves some time. So let me show you the way how, what I did when I was
creating such kind of sketch. So let's turn it
off for a while. And here also you
have a few options. You have blue HB pencil, which is a little bit hard and you see the lion
sounds not too smooth. But I also like
it, if you want to use it for some schematic
drawing, it's perfect. This is the pencil very
soft and very smooth. I use it for my sketches. And blue ink, you can
use as a dry watercolor. And another way you
can use it as a think. Yeah, if you use it
with a smaller size, I use exactly this
brush when I was creating the sketch
for this illustration. What you're going to do. So here we have a few options,
what you can do. You can simplify the shapes. Like I told you,
it can help you to paint it in a more accurate way. Here we actually can draw a rectangle cylinders
like first cylinder. Here we have a little
bit bigger cylinder in a part intersections
of the cylinders. We're going to have this lovely
roof, Chinese style roof. We can count 123.4 this
is the biggest one. Next thing, we'll just
lower that active. And we're going to come
back to our sketch layer. We have our cake and we
can start sketching. Like I said here, you don't need to be precise and your lines should be accurate. What I like about this
brush that sometimes the lines are a
little bit messy and the thickness is
also a little bit different what we
need because it helps us to replicate
the way how we sketch when we actually on a trip when we don't
have so much time. Like I told you, this
is a perfect way after that when you
don't need to use our cake shaped reference, we can just turn
it off and delete. This is the way we create how we paint our queer ky sketch. Like I said, this is one
of the ways, if you want, you can also already
add some shapes, like some lovely brush strokes that can help you to
indicate the light source. For example, I decided to play the light surd from
the top right side. It means the top left
side will be in shadow. This is a querky way how
to create lovely art. That's the sketch that
I was created also. You see sometimes the lines
are not straight at all, so I try to make them a
little bit in wavy shape. Like I said, it replicates
very realistic style. For example, that you
don't have so much time, You don't have eraser, but you have passion and you
have a desire to draw. Okay, so we've done it
with a quirky sketch, now let's move to next one. And now we move to
detailed sketch. Again, this is also the
picture that I took. So like I said, feel
free to use it. And you see what
I like about it, because we have like
this baby snail. This is a baby snail. And like a mommy snail, when we create some traveled watercolor journal illustration, it's great to mix some
different angles together. Because sometimes you
can just one scene, but sometimes you can
combine different parts, different illustrations
on one paper. I'm going to use the snail for exactly such kind
of illustration. I will paint a big place
with some temple and then as some details I'm going
to paint snail and flowers to show what you
can see in this place. Call it messy lines because
here you see the sketch. I use pencil here and a little
bit ink combine thickness, thick strokes and thin strokes. About this type of illustration, you might start by using H B pencil and then
move to six pencil. And if you want to add
some thickest parts, you can use put in how
you can sketch this art. First of all, you can trace it above all the illustration. For that you need to take the picture and copy
it to the layers, then create a new
layer on a new layer. Just trace the
snail another way, you can just look at the art
and create your own snail. Let's do the second option. Also if you want, you
can simplify the shapes. Like I said, you don't
need to be precise. Here we have a snail and
here we have the shell. If you have some
parts that you want to erase, just erase it. You might use any brush. You might use a pencil
as an eraser as well, or you might use ink brush
that I'm using right now. Also guys, let me show you
what is liquefied tool. If you see that you make some mistake and
you want to change the shape but you don't want
to redraw it in this case, just go to adjustments
and go to liquefied tool. And then you need to
choose push and choose the size like around 50%
depending on the size. Then thanks to the tool, you might make the size
a little bit bigger. Then thanks to the tool, you can just play with the shape and adjusted to the
way how you would like it, how you would be satisfied. We are still staying on
the same layer here. We can schematically
adjust the shape, like polish it,
if you might say. So we can change and
show some details. Change the position,
show the shadow here, we might show surroundings like where the snail is heading. Then if you want to add, you definitely want
to add more shades. You will go to Bull B pencil. That's why I added two ways,
two different pencils. Because for such
kind of sketching, especially when you want to imitate the
realistic feeling, you will need different
kinds of pencils. Then I want to come
back to HB pencil. Just said, some shades create
some crotch hatchings. Show the volume. You have the shadow from the lower
part, from the bottom. It means on the top you're going to have the lightest part. Like I said, why call
it messes sketch because the lines are
a little bit chaotic. That's what I like about
it because also it shows that the life behind the art passion also another way how you can make it brighter or how you
make it more saturated. In this way, you can just duplicate the layer and you see, thanks to duplicating,
the colors are very vibrant
and pretty bold. This is the way how I
created the sketch for such lovely snail in messy way. And also the final detail. You can go and grab ink brush because it's pressure
sensitive and depending on how hard you press, the lines will be
thicker or thinner, which is also amazing. Can draw it like baby's name. You can actually use
just this brush, just ink brush if you don't want to spend too much time on adding
those cross hatchings. Like I said, it all of it
depends on your preferences. Same here. We can go to six Ppencil and start adding
some cross hatchings. And so, and so this
is a messy sketch. This is a sketch that
I prepared earlier. Now we move to a little
bit more complicated part, not even complicated. It just takes more time
to finish the sketch. We're going to move
to a detail sketch. Understood, this is
a reference picture for our next detail sketch. Here we're going to use
a trans tracing way, the one that I was
describing previously. This is a sketch that you're going to use
for our today's art, why I decided why I suggest
to use tracing way, especially if you don't
paint from the nature. If it's from the
nature, of course, you need to use
the previous way. So you need to look
at the objects, you need to look at the
nature and just paint. But when you paint something from the picture,
and like I said, you want to save some time
and you want to paint so many details and you want to be accurate
in proportions. So I think the tracing
way also can help you. We copy the illustration to the procreate layers and then we lower the apacity a little bit. Then we're going to
create one molar on the top above of that. We're going to grab both
pencil or six pencil from native procreate
create brushes and we're going to start tracing why I suggest to take you B pencils because when you use
ink is also fine. But about the details,
when the colors, when the lines are
bright, it looks better. Or like I said, you can
combine together if you want to control the thickness and
thinness of the brushes. You can also use pen HB pencil. But my suggestion, after
you finish sketching, you may just
duplicate the layer. It will help your art to be brighter and the
lines will be thicker. Also, another way here,
my suggestion of course, you might not be able to
paint every tiny tree here is the easiest way how to show that tree has
some kind of leaves. It's just to show schematically
like the shape of leaves, but don't paint it
in too much details. This is a detailed sketch, but not too detailed. You're going to have very
detailed sketch like next, but with trees with such nature when it's not architecture. My suggestion to paint
trees in this way, it still looks very beautiful. But you will spend way more, less time on the sketch then when you don't need
our reference picture, you will just delete it. We're going to have
lovely sketch. Like I said, if you
want to make lines more Opic you can
just Ublcate layer. You see that things by
Ublicating you will have pretty sharp and visible lines. Sketch that I prepared. Like I said, feel free to
use it if you want here. Why I decided to grab such
kind of illustration? Because the composition in
this art is very lovely. It's very interesting. We have lovely big tree with huge roots in the center of our attention,
in front of us. Behind we also have
lovely stream, we have beautiful tree. The composition is
very comfortable to look at and very accurate
accordingly to the rules. Now we jump into our last part. The last one will be very
well detailed sketch here let's do, I think for such kind
illustration you might use HB pencil and then duplicated because I think
the line should be very thin. Or you can use
pencil but make it pretty thin or like I
said, use a combination. I told this art, this sketch is very well detailed because you see
I paint so many details. I paint so many lines and
I didn't simplify them. Okay? And it took me around 30
minutes to finish the sketch. So you see if you have the time, you might use the
time for sketching, but like I said, depending on the preferences on time
on what you want to draw, whether you have art, you have your picture, or
you painted from the nature, you will use different kinds of sketches, because
for architecture, it's very beautiful
to use such kind of way when you painted
with so many details. Or another very popular way
is to use a quirky sketch. Like I said, when
you don't trace, you actually look at the art and you painted
in a little bit, not straight lines here. I use a tracing way. So I just copy this picture into the procreate
layers and I lower the opacity and I
created the new layer on the top and I just
trace every line. The trees here are
also more detailed. You see, I tried to paint
every part of the tree, but also I simplified
a little bit the background so I
didn't paint all types of buildings because I
don't think they're very relevant for
our art for us. And most important is
part of this temple. As you see, we have four
ways how to create art. The first one is
simplified shaped sketch, second is even five was
second is quirky lines. When you don't trace at all, you look at the art and
you paint and you don't need to be perfect in
such kind of sketch. The third one is messy
sketch, where you create, you mix the pencils, You use HB pencil, use pencils. You can also use ink brush. And you create dynamic like volumed illustrations with
so many cross hatchings and so many lines. The next one is detail sketch,
the one with the tree, where you can trace
your art depending on your preferences or
you can just paint it from the picture,
from the nature. But you so much you devote so much time to every detail
in your illustration, but still at the same time you can simplify some
of the objects, like I said, trees, you can simplify the leaves, simplify the clouds, or like
something at the background. That is not relevant. Now, well detailed sketch where you paint
every tiny details, every brick on a rooftop
because it helps you to create very
atmospheric art. That's it for the
sketching part. Now let's jump into
the next part, finally into painting process.
6. Adding Colors to the 1st Illustration : In this part of the class. Finally, we can start painting. We will start with the
first illustration. And what I want
to tell you about the painting process is that
first we're going to add, just paint to all three
illustrations that we have. Then we're going to jump into adding text and stem process. Let's start with our
first illustration. Now I already decided to
make some group players. The first one will
be Queer ky sketch. This 1 second will be
detailed illustration. The last one, we're
going to combine a few sketches together. Here we will have
the messy sketch. We detailed sketch and
simplified shaped sketch. And we're going to paint those three
illustration together. And we will devote more time
to the last illustration, to the last project. Let's have some warm up with
the quirky sketch lines. And here I decided to combine this illustration with the stem bra that I also
color a little bit. And of course, I
will add some text. What I suggest you
to remember is that when you create an art, you can use the rule of thirds. What is it? This is a rule. When we place some objects, we need to place them in
intersection of lines. Let me quickly show we can
divide our space into thirds. Intersection of the
lines will be here. Why it's important to
place the objects right in those intersections because
we look at some picture. It's where our eyes
are concentrated. It's where we got the most
delightful experience. It's better to place our object not in the center of our art, but just a little bit to the right side or
to the left side. Here you see our
temple will be right in intersection of
the lines here. I think that this place
is a little bit empty. I still can put something here. You might go to my
stem brushes and just decide which stem
might be very cool. Also, like I said,
remember we need to place the object at
intersections of line. You see here we have
the line and we place our flower right
in the right position. And you guys, before
we start painting, I want to show you what
other brushes we have today. And like I said,
for today's place, I prepared mostly
all the new brushes. You saw HB pencil, you already saw B pencil
also. We have blue ink. We have hard edge watercolor. This is our main brush
that we're going to use for almost all our
paintings today. Blue texture is great if
you want to add some kind of watercolor shades and you want to make
it in a soft way. My suggestion to
use it in clipping mask plendiler mode and later I will show
you how to do that. Both soft gradient
is perfect when you want to add some
color gradient. Both soft blender brush that you're going to
use as a blender. Once again, I'm using blue
ink brush as an eraser. Wicolorems good stem that can help us to reach some
wadicolor effect. Next we're going to have
very lovely additional, some stem brush that can help
you to add some journal. In way like that, you can create some composition depending on your preferences and you can just play around. This stamp can help you
to show you some details. Also going to use this stamp
in one of our illustrations, unforgettable journey
handwritings. You might use the phone that you like and add
some specific words, or you can use just some
handwriting stamp brushes that I prepared for you. Also, stem brushes are based
on the fonts that I created, which is elegant imperfection, clumsy imperfection and
strict imperfection. We're going to use be
hard edge water color for most of our illustrations today. I think we can start with
the background color. Let's duplicate this
background layer. I will grab this blue color and then I will go to Be
water color stem. Now let's go the
transform to uniform. Just place it somewhere here. Then guys, if you want
to change the color, maybe you want to make
it brighter or darker. You can go to course here. You might play with
the intensity of color and with the hume a little bit. I think this dark blue
color looks very good. So I'm going to keep it
that way, like that. Okay, Then we ultuplicatemy
main color layer and put it above the
background layer guys here, we're going to try to reach
some dry watercolor effect. But as a base brush
we're going to use be hard edge water color guys here, just try to feel the
areas with some color. You might have some white caps. It's totally normal
in a quirky way. It's very cool to paint because you can make
mistakes like a lot, which is very cool like that. We're going to grab a little
bit darker green color. Now let's grab this
dark purple color, like desaturated purple color. Don't forget to have
some kind of caps. Now let's grab this
lovely reddish color. Now let's switch the
brush to be ink brush. And we're going to start
adding some dry brush strokes. Now let's grab brownish color. And we need to add
some kind of trees. Also, don't forget to
leave some white caps. Now let's grab to
slightly bluish shade and we can try to
show some shadows. The dry brush strokes, it looks very realistic. Then I want to add some
shades to the trees. In this case, I will
create an leery bow. I will go to multiply o. Now we can play
layer modes here, you might keep the
multiply or you can just go around and look at the blending layer
modes that you like. And then you can play Sapacit. I like Luminosity, so I'm
going to keep it that way. But I will lowers
apacity slightly then go to hard edge
water color then lowers apacity till 40% Now the last thing we're going
to color our lovely flower. For that, I will use be
hard edge watercolor brush. I will grab this
lovely peachy color, just gently add the color. Also, no need to be too precise. No need to be too perfect. Guys, also my suggestion
to paint on a new layer, but I stayed on a layer
where we have our temple. What to do in this
case if I want to change the colors
or if I want to intensify or desaturate some of the parts. Let me show you. So for example, I'm pretty
satisfied with what I have, but I want to make it brighter. I go to the selection tool, then I select the
area of the flower. It means I am on a layer
where we have our temple. But I selected just the
flower, not the temple. It means I can do whatever I
want with the selected area. Then I go to curse here, I can play with a curse, I can play with intensity
and whatever I like guys. Now here I think what I want
to do is I want to make our flower less transparent
And why we need to do that, because I see the
background color still behind our flower and
that's what we need to avoid. And also I want to show you
how to use clipping mask. In order to do that, we
need to remove the opacity. Because watercolor brushes
are semi transparent, we need to do some modifications
later with a layer, it should be less transparent. What we need to do is I
selected the area of a flower, then three fingers down and
I can write cut and paste. Now as you see, our floral is on totally new layer,
which is wonderful. So I will duplicate it. Go to lower layer, then go to hue saturation. And brightness, move the
brightness all way up like that. Then I will merge together
two layers as you see. Now our flower is
not transparent. Then I want to use clipping mask because I want to
add more shades. In this case, I created
one layer above. And I will press clipping mask. I will change the blending
layer mode to multiply. Then I will grab the
slightly orange color and I will grab
blue texture brush. I want to add some texture
to this part a little bit, then I will come back
to be hard H color. And here I can go to color burn, to linear burn darker
like whatever I want. I think linear burn
looks amazingly perfect. Also, I can go to curves and if I want to intensify,
I can intensify, I can make it brighter, darker, Whatever I like, I want to
make it a little bit brighter. Then I want to come back to our flower layer and I will
create one more layer. Automatically, it will be in
clipping mask a mode because it's between the layer which is clipped and
between our original layer. Then I will go to linear burn
and I will grab pink color. And I will go to
blue texture brush. And then I want to add some shades to the edges
of our flower axis. Then I just want to merge
all the layers together. Next thing is maybe I think the temple is a
little bit too dark. In this case, I will
go to adjustments, go to curves again. Here I can play intensity with situation
with the first illustration. We finished our painting
part and we will come back to this illustration once we've done with other paintings. Let's wait a little bit.
7. Adding Colors to the 2nd Illustration : In this part of the class, we are ready to jump into
our second illustration and we're going to try
different painting technique. Let's do it now. What I want to do is I will
select all the elements of our first illustration
and background as well. And I will press group. Let's keep our grid
and then we're going to have detail sketch. Let's shift our attention
from the tree a little bit to the text that we
can increase it. In this case, our tree is still in the
center of attention, not entirely, but most
of the tree also. From this part, we
still will be focused on the stream and on the
end of our illustration, but text also will be in
the center of attention. In this type of illustration, I will show you different
ways of coloring. I will show you how to use
different brushes in order to add some kind of texture,
water color texture. Also, I will show you how
to use scrip in mask, duplicate main colors, put it
under knees of the sketch. We can bl shades as well and
duplicate the background. Background will be first
for the background. I will use blue color and I
will use blue texture brush. In curves, main colors, I will grab this bright
brown color, blue hard edge, water color, increase the size. Simply fill the area
is a brown color. If you go beyond the
lines or if you overlap, it's not a big deal. We can use blending brush. The next step is
we're going to keep adding color to the tree trunks. But I decided to grab a
little bit lighter color. I will create one more layer. I duplicated main color
layer and tap clear. Now we have one more main
layer color which is empty. Why I do it on a new layer? Because I might play with a pact and maybe I want
to change something. I want to make it on
totally new layer. In this case, I
will have freedom to do whatever I want with the layer without
touching our main trunk. You make some overlapping, you can raise it, or you can
just leave it like that. Now, about the color, I actually like the
way how it looks. But I want to show you the
way what else you can do. First course, the one
that I was talking about, that you can just play
with whatever you want. Then hue saturation
and brightness. And here you can make it more saturated or
less saturated. Desaturated. You can make it lighter, brighter, or darker. Or you can even play with, make it more greenish
or even bluish. It's very inconvenient if you not sure what color
palette you want to use. Okay, so we've done
with the tree trunks, now I like the colors
of the tree trunk, so I'm going to merge
together those two layers. Then I will create
one more layer. I want to add leaves. Why I do it on new layer? Because I don't want to disturb the color
of the tree trunk. I will add the main color of the leaves layer below
the tree trunk layer. In this case, we will not cover the color of
the tree trunk. I will grab this pretty bright green color
for the leaves. You don't need to be perfect
at any art of illustration. Just enjoy the art process. I think this is the
most important part and sometimes we can
forget about it. Like I forget very often, I tend to make my art perfect. Sometimes it's very
overwhelming my suggestion. Just try to enjoy art process
and try to like your art, a way how it goes. Now what I want to do is I will switch to a
little bit darker shade. And I will be on a new layer, I will grab slightly
brighter color. And I will add one more layer of some greenery in front
of the other bushes. I try to paint every
new layer with some slightly different
variation of green color. Here you see I paint two different layers
with the same color. And I think this is a mistake. I just want to remove
my, some of the color. I selected the area three
fingers down and I press cut. Now I can grab this
brighter green color and add one of the layer of
greenery to the front side. Also like why I painted with
different shades of green, I started with the brightest
one from the distance. Little by little, I decided to try to desatrate the color
and make it not so bright. Because like the
objects that are in front of us, they
are the brightest. And a little bit far away, they lose its brightness. And the objects
that are far away, they are not so visible comparing to the objects
that are in front of us. Now let's add some color to
the stream and to the ground. I will grab this
pale page color. I will stick to the same layer where we have the first row of bushes and I just add
some shades here, spilled violet color, the ones that we were
using for our first art. This is a push, okay? Maybe this is also the push. Okay. Here we will have
two different kinds of bushes and here we
will have the stones. Because here we're going
to have so many of them. So I don't want to
overwhelm you with such amount. Now for the water, we will feeling
color, feeling now. I think it's time to
start adding some shades. And I will show you
the ways how to do it. What's important
in adding shades. If you want to use
alphalog or clipping mask, we need to remove
the transparency. Let me show you when
they create new layer, for example, above the tree. And then we're going
to use clip mask. Then we will from
normal to multiply because when you use
normal plendil layer mode, the colors will be
not so intense. When we use multiply, the color should be very bright and we're going to
grab this brownish color. Maybe go to a little
bit darker shade. Go to boot texture brush. Then when we start
adding colors, you see they're not so bright. We still see them,
but they're not as bright as they can be.
So you can see it. We still have the color of the sky that is
coming through, the color of the tree trunk. That's what we need to avoid
because we want to have pure colors that are not
disturbed by some other shades. In this case, we need to
remove the transparency. By doing that, we can
duplicate main color. I go to the opacity of
lower layer and I will move a passage till 50% And then
I merge together two layers. Now when we use
the clipping mask, the colors are more saturated, but we still see the color of
the sky through the layer. It means that the color
is still transparent. We will duplicate
the layer again. Go to lower layer, go to hue saturation, and brightness in adjustments and increase the
brightness all way up. Then we can merge
together two layers. As you see immediately
when we merged the white layer with our
original tree run Clare. First of all we don't
have the positive. We don't see the sky coming
through this layer anymore. Another thing is that
the color of the texture in clipping mask Clare
is very, very bright. Let's remove the opacity in
all layers except for sky. We will not add
additional layers to the sky. Let's
keep it that way. Let's go to the
leaves duplicated. Go to the lower
layer, pacitytill, 50% merge together.
Duplicate again. Go to lower layer adjustments, hue saturation and brightness. And move the brightness up. Then merge white layer
with our leaf layer. Great. Now let's go to
the greenery duplicate. Lower layer 40, 30%
merge together. Duplicate again,
go to lower layer, hue saturation and brightness. Brightness deal 100%
merge together. Yeah, once again we
use clipping mask. If you want to add
some texture shade, some additional
elements on the top of our art without disturbing
our original layer. This is the main difference
because we also can use alpha log that will let us
paint within the layer. But the difference between
alpha log and clipping mask is that when we paint something
in clipping mask mode, if you don't like our actions, we always can delete the layer. But when you paint something
in alpha lock mode, for example, you want to add some stemsia, you added stamps. Then when you want to delete
the action that you made, you can't do it because it's on a layer where we
have our tree trunk. You might do it by
tapping two times, two fingers on a screen or you can just do
it in clipping mask. You have the layer with the tree trunk you
created one molayer above, and then you tap on the new layer above and
you press clipping mask. You can decide which blending
layer mode you like more. I usually use multiply, then I will grab
this reddish color. May be a little bit darker and I will grab
wood texture brush. Or you can go to hard
edge watercolor. And little by little you can start adding
those tiny details, the gaps between the roots. But I don't want to spend
too much time on this art. I decided just briefly
and schematically show you some ways how
you can edge shades. Also, you can use
some stem brushes. Thanks to the stem brushes, you will have so much texture. Yeah, perfect. Now about the leaves,
I'll create 1 mole above clipping mask multiply. But I think I will change the plan Deller
mode a little bit. Grab dark green color, hard edge and just tie to tap. What I'm going to do now is I will play with
blended layer modes. It's what I like to do,
especially I like color burn. It's bright. Dark in color is also
good color burn. And I will just
lower the sapacit. See I still have very bright
colors but not too bright. Now let me show you
how to use alphalog. I like the way how it looks. I'm going to merge it together. Now I will go to the greenery. I will not create a new layer, I will just press Alphalog. You need to be
careful because you can't undo your actions. Then it's fun, like
something just blended. Also, guys, how to add shades. You need to remember
that in areas where we have two objects next to each other, we're
going to have shadow. For example, here
we have roots and we have the bushes
next to each other, we will have some shadow. Then we have the tree trunk
and some bushes here. The shadow also will
be from this side. Sand color may be even darker. Here also parts where a few
objects are placing together. We're going to have some shadow Is it's so simple
and like I said, you don't need to
be well detailed. Yeah, I think that's it. We've done with shading part. Now we can add some highlights. Like I said, you also can
do it in clipping mask. Merge together our shading
layer and clipping mask mode. We can turn off alpha
log layer modes. I think we can merge together all the main layers together. Yeah, we don't need to
separate them anymore. Let's create one layer
above clipping mask. Here we can go and add
screen or add a mode. We're going to grab boost
gradient, brush, loper size, a little med, but I think the colors
are too intense. In this case, I will go to add a little
bit lower opacity. Now about the gradient. Let's merge together our
high light with main color. Now I'll show you how
to add gradients. In this case, you need
to press Alphalog. You will have blue
soft gradient brush. For example, you want to make the roots a little bit dark, let's grab this dark blue
color, increase the size. Maybe even just add some color. The areas that you want
to make slightly targer. This is a way how you
can make gradient. It's pretty simple way we've
done with painting this art. By the way, what
else you can do? You can mix background
and main color together. Then you can go to curse same, you can increase the brightness We've done with painting
our second illustration. And now let's move
to the third one.
8. Adding Colors to the 3rd Illustration: Flowers and Snail: Finally, we'll reach
the third illustration. It's a little bit more
complicated and time consuming, but I hope you would enjoy the results that we
will have in the end. Speaking about the
last art here, we're going to combine
different kinds of sketches and different kinds of painting techniques together. Guys, here we will
work with alphalog. Also, try different
blending layer modes. And we will talk more about
the opacity and the steps of create and loose
watercolor art easily. I think I will place
the temple to this set. I want to place our florals
probably to the top. And I will lower the size a little bit because I
still want people to pay attention to the snail
and snail about snail. Be careful. It
should be uniform. I don't want to disturb
the proportions. Let's put it this way, all our objects are in
intersection of the lines. We created very good
composition and we can turn off the Crete
as a background. I think I will use the background from our
first illustration. I will just duplicate it now. Let's go to the main color, and I think we can start
with our lovely snail. By the way, I want to duplicate our sketch to one more time, because I also want to make
it as bright as the snail. I will grab this pretty
bright beach color and I'll grab hard
edge water color. What about the background? Because we see the background is coming through the snail. In this case you'll go to the background grab eraser
and just simply race. You see we have so
many ways how to deal with the
background and to do with transparency like
that about this part. We don't need to
remove the background because follows a color art. Additional brush strokes. It's just now about second
snail, lovely pink snail. For the snail, I want to
use reference illustration. Let's add more shades. I will duplicate
main color again because I want to add
another shade to the shell. But because I added
one color under knees, I think the color combination
might look very good. If you do clipping mask, you see the color is not so bright because the first
layer is very transparent. But when we duplicate
the first layer and go to lower layer, then go to hue, saturation and brightness
and move it away all the way up and then merge together
with the original color. You see the color is more saturated and I think
it's pretty bright. Go and grab this
pale purple color. It's the sharpness lines
just like blended. So we will create one mola bow. We still have this orange color, the saturated orange color. And we can grab this
loose watercolor stamp, maybe even this one here. We can rotate and look what is the best way for our stamp where we can
place it. Looks good. So now what I want
to show you how to make this gradient,
this lovely one. I will, I merge together
our layers and then I will go to alpha log N. I want to grab this
lovely purple color, blue soft gradient brush. I just want to show
like pigment from the shell just comes
to the snail's body. I think this part
can be yellowish. This gradient brush is perfect. If you want to add some
color variations to your art guys here, if you want to add shadow, I will show you a very good
way you can go selection tool and select the area where
you want to add the shade. For example, I want to
add shade to the road, but I don't want to
touch snail's body and I selected this road area and
then I will grab my brush. This area is still selected
to this part you see without touching any other areas
which is very useful. Same, you can add
some brighter color, add some highlights to
the road, then dielect. This is one very easy
way how you can do it. Another one, we are still
in alpha lock mode. Another one we can
go to be hard edge, watercolor brush, grab
slightly darker color. And add some shadow here
if you want to have most rated shadow and if you want
to control the shade later, we can turn off alphalog, create one molar above, use clipping mask and multiply. So still you don't need
to go beyond the lines. But here you can work
with shade and you can decide what intensity
you might have. You can just merge
together as the layers. And we can intensify the colors by using
curves like this. Make it lighter and then more
or less intense like that. Also you can go to saturation and
brightness and just move the saturation a little
bit higher like that. Well, now it's time to start painting flowers in
loose watercolor style. For that, we're going to create a new layer which
is main colors. I will go and grab
the dark green color, and then I'll grab blue,
soft gratian brush. Light dark color. Okay, The next step
will be gona move domain colors and then go and grab blue hard
edge, water color brush. And then let's grab this
pretty pale green color. Next, let's just add
colors to leaves. Okay, Then let's just uplicate
the layer one more time. Go and clear it. Now I want
to paint in actual flowers, so let's go and grab
this purple color. Now let's lower the
sketching layer. Let's remove the transparency
of what I did before. So I will go to lower layer, go to sitration and brightness. And increase the
brightness all the way up, merge together the
same with the flowers. A few striation brightness. And now let's duplicate the shades layer a little bit
and let's move to multiply. Then I want to move one
of the shades layer underneath of our
petals and our leaves. And I want to feel like this, areas that are pretty empty, so I grab them, brush and almost black color. Wonderful. Now I
just want to blend this tiny gaps makest
bit a more realistic. I want to blend some
of the areas here. I'll just merge it together because like this is a
loose watercolor style, not all the shapes are clearly
visible at the shades. I multiplicated again
for the tiny details. I will move to multiply
the shading layer, then I will go and grab
the stark purple color, blue, hard edge watercolor. The next step is I want
to add some highlights. And I will go and
grab this lovely pink color, same brush. And then let's grab bright
green color. Now, blending. And then I think we
need to do something with shades. Okay, so cold. Now my suggestion is to merge everything
together like that. And now we can keep
adding some tiny details. Go to linear, burn a ink brush. Now we can create some
stems and connect together all the elements
to be did and connect. Now let's create one leer. Emerge together,
create one Muller. Grab almost white color. I think final touch is
I first of all want to merge everything together
then create one molar above. Go move to liner burn. Let me, let me think
like this bluish color. Let's grab one of
the stem brushes and then we can decide
where we can place it. Lo, another thing is I will create one male bob, linear burn, propish color, maybe another stem brush and lower. Now you know how to create lovely loose vertical illustration
in a pretty fast way. I hope now you're ready
to move to our nest Next part and we're going to paint in detail this lovely temple.
9. Adding Colors to the 3rd Illustration: Temple: Domain color, pretty pale color, Bo, hard edge water
color and link. Hey, wonderful. Now let's go and grab this
bright green color. Do it on the same layer, but here, try to leave like more wide gaps
between the leaves. It's like showing that the
leaves are not so dense. I think that's fine. So the next step is we're
going to wait here. Let's just finish painting
this part of the building, some background dark gray color. You see for this type
of watercolor painting, you might have some
white gaps between the lines and it
looks pretty lovely. You see, unlike the ones that we have here or here,
this is pretty dense. But for this type
of illustration, we're going to have some
white gaps and that will help us to create
some special wipe too. So we're done with this part. Now let's go to the main colors, another layer, and here we're going to make
this magical trick. You guys here, I will go
and grab darker color. And you see I am trying not to lift my apple pencil
from this script. Now let's grab a razor. Let's just show some bricks and now let's grab darker color. About the magic trick, what I was trying to tell, let me show you here
is just duplicated. You see automatically it
became dark what we need. Duplicate another one,
lower the pacity, but not too bright,
merge together. Now about this part, what I want to do is
I will uplicatedow, I want to remove
the transparency. Merge together guys. Here like I said, we
have two options. First we can go and
just press alphalogow. We can draw within this layer and I want to add a
couple of new shades. I'll grab brownish color. Have the same brush. Okay,
this is one of the options. Now we still have alpha log. Now we're going to switch
to another brush too. Soft gradient brush, the one
that I was talking about. Let's grab a little
bit reddish color. Increase the size here I want to add some
color variations. I'm going to grab orange color. And a little bit like
if from one side we're going to have
shade another side. Like for example
here we're going to have some highlights. Now we don't need alpha
log. Same we can do here. Tinting Turk shade. I can add some calibrations
to the leaves. Now what I want to do is
I will use clipping mask, create new layer above. Now move to clipping mask and then I will go
to Linear Burn. Why I decided to
use clipping mask? Because I want to intensify the shades in linear
burn blended perfect. I will go to brown color. I'm ready to go to hard
edge watercolor brush. We'll start and shades little by also why clipping mask is good because you don't go beyond the lines of
your original layer. Okay, now I'm going to
lower the capacity. I don't want to make it so bright blending tool and you can blend the
sharpness if you want. Next thing that I
want to show you is I want to add some texture. For that, I will go
to put texture brush. Then merge together
my linear burn, the original layer clipping
mask, linear burn again. Then I want to grab a
little bit reddish color and try to add more texture. Same we can do with another
layer clipping mask, linear burn. Pay attention. It will be too
bright like I said because the layer semi transparent but I don't want it to be too
bright. It's fine. Okay. What I wanted
to do is I want to in merge together all the
layers intensify the layers. In this case, you can go
to curves, you can see it. You can make it brighter,
light, see positive. Done this temple. Now I think I want to add
some color to the sky layer. Let's go to the shade layer. Blue color. A blue
hard edge watercolor. I just want to show some sky. My, any suggestion.
You can also show the shadow on a wall from trees. In this case you
can go to shades, layer one more and you
will go to multiply. Then go to page color. Keep same hard edge
brush can just, you can lower the opacity if
you think you need to do it. Like if you're satisfied with everything just merge
together all the layers like so now we've done discoloring all
the parts and I think it's time to add some
text and stambrushes.
10. Adding Text and Stamps: And finally we are ready
for our final details where we're going to add
text and postage stamps. Different kinds of
stamps that will help you to make your illustration
even more beautiful. Let's do it and guys,
tiny suggestion. I forgot to add
some lovely flowers for the florals to the trees. Hard edge watercolor that
you can find such kind of flowers in such
areas on trees. Also, what's interesting in
travel journaline is that you can paint like
a huge pictures and then some detailed one. Like the most important thing is to find a way how
to connect them. Then we'll go to final
details and to text layers. Let's start with text. Make sure that you stamp is higher
than your illustration. In this case you will
avoid the overlappings. You will place the
text on a top layer. We are on the same layer
with previous text. You can use selection tool and select the areas that
you want to use. Just adjusted, Maybe we're going to need some stem brush. In this case, we will go to final details and how to connect tiny details with
the original large picture. We're also going to use
final detail layer. We won't go to the new one. I will grab blue
travel stem six. Make sure that you're using
uniform not free form. You see we can connect
the flower like you can see such florals on trees, in temples like that. As you see, we've done with all our stems and texts and we can call this
piece finished. Now let's make it in visible. Let's go to the second
illustration here. We're going to have text and we're going to have
final details. Let's start with text. I think handwriting
will be perfect here. I want to show that
this is a journey. So I'm going to write
like unforgetful journey, and I'm going to place
it somewhere here. Let's go to text. I want to add
something like that. Very simple
handwriting, uniform, and you can write
it summary here. My suggestion to duplicate
the text so it will be brighter and I think something
is missing in this area. So I want to add some details. I want to add dates here. Let's create one layer. Let's go to blue frame. I think we can call
this piece Finish To. Let's place the text above all the layers in our group
layer and make it invisible. Now the third illustration here, we're going to have lots of text and a lot of final
details stems here. I will try to imitate
also handwriting, but not too precise,
not too perfect. Let's go to the text layer and think what type of handritin
might be suitable. What if you place it somewhere
here with similar font? Yup. Then look about
final details. What if we add some math? We have Albert Einstein. Why don't we add some
math illustration, maybe the last couple of stems because I think this
part is a little bit empty. I think we want to add
some stamp here too. I want to add some frame to this quote, selected free form. What we're going to do here is merge everything together, guys. Additionally, I
want to show what are the paper
effect you can add. First of all, let's expert the
paper that I also added to the freebies rotate feed to canvas and move it a
little bit to the sides. Okay, so in about the paper, I will show you some magical
trick a little bit later. Now we still have
paper effect color burn, blende layer mode. You can move the past
a little bit higher. You see in this case, you might see the texture that coming through
through the paper. It helps you to create some very lovely
watercolor effects. Our first illustration,
it's perly sin because we don't fill all the paper
with some specific color. Now we have additional
paper layer effects. This one here, my
suggestion is to play with the blending modes
because every blending mode, depending on the illustration, can bring new totally
different arts. Of course, you can adjust
the intensity and opacity. This is the second
illustration here. I also use overlay, like I say control
the intensity. This is pretty pale and the situation looks so
good and so authentic. And let me see what
else we can have. I like overlay here and
thanks to the paper, it helps you to unite all the three
illustrations together. And it doesn't seem like you paint them in
different styles. Guys, I hope you enjoyed
our today's project and you learned something
you about painting process, about the sketch and
especially when you travel somewhere and you or you like
some watercolor journaline. So I wish you luck. And let's see each
other necklace. But this is the end
for our today's class. And I hope you enjoyed our
painting process together. And you learned a lot about watercolor, journaline,
and procreate. And you learned a lot about different types of
sketches and how to apply different
watercolor techniques while painting process. Guys, I wish you luck
with all your love, the art projects and
of course I will be so happy to see all of
them once again. Your feedback is so
important to me. So I would be very thankful if you could leave it as well. About our next class. During our next class, I already prepared for you a very special topic
which is postage stamps. And of course it will
be in watercolor style. So let's see each as the
next class. Bye bye.
