1. Introduction: Hello everyone. My name is Janice. I'm a full time student and I've been using notion in my everyday life for the last three years. I used to keep class notes, storm ideas about blog articles and organize my different tasks and projects. This class is also created in a way so that both someone that's a complete beginning with notion and someone that has some experience with a tool can benefit from it. If you're role, I will take it through a notion journey, split into two different sections. First, we'll discuss everything about notions, interface, its main features, and how you can set up your own workspace. In the second part, I will get into detail about how I'm personally using the tool, the different pages and templates I use, how I structure them. And also you're going to be able to see how we can create some of these pages from scratch. Everything shown throughout the course will be free for you to download from the resources below with specific links connected to each chapter. Having said that, whether you're a student, an entrepreneur, or just someone that wants to try out notion and explores different possibilities, the things we're going to talk about are applicable to you. So thanks for watching and hopefully I can see you on the other side. 2. What is Notion?: Hello, and thank you so much for enrolling in the class. It's great to see you here. The first thing we're going to talk about is what notion really is and why it is such a powerful tool to put it simply notion is a workspace software that tries to replace all your current tools into a novel in one package. And there are four categories that notion, try to do that. Now we'll quickly go through them so you can get a better understanding of what Notion can do for you. The first one is not undocument referring to everyday knowledge. You're keeping your phone or your computer and documents. We might want to save and collect for research. The tools you might currently using for this type of tasks or Microsoft Word, google Docs, Evernote or bear. Second category is knowledge basis. Phase refers to as long page of information that contain not only texts, but also math equations or even some lines of code phase can be extremely helpful, especially for learners who might take these notes for the different classes as notions ecosystem really embraced his note-taking and learning new information coming out next, we have tasks and projects for organizing your daily routine and long-term goals. Now these for me, translates to blog articles, podcasts, episodes, or if an online class as this one. This replaces apps like Trello, tick, tick and Santa, and so on. Last but not least, we have spreadsheets and databases. Imagine that as a connected network of information like an Excel or Google Sheets file. This is also, in my opinion, notions best unique feature and we'll cover it in length throughout the course. So a question some of you might have is how you can combine all these different tools without getting too complicated. Well, as we'll see notion usually clean and straightforward interface to keep things as simple as possible. The color palette used is also one of my favorite design choices because other than black and white vertex will barely be able to see any color except for icons and backgrounds. These translates to minimum destruction as possible. Of course, no one expects you to stop using all the tools mentioned altogether. Me personally, I'm still using some of these tools for some specific tasks, but it's really nice that notion gives you this possibility to combine them into a nonlinear one workspace. Alright, now that we talked briefly about the power of Notion, I'm gonna walk you through creating your first notional account in case you don't already have one. I would also want to point out that you can feel free to jump onto sections of the course in case you feel like, you know already some of this information. 3. Creating your Notion Account: It's time to create your first national account and discuss different plan options you can choose from without further ado. Let's get right into it. Now, you can use Notion as a browser or as an application in your computer that are also apps for iOS and Android. Recommend taking these out because I also have it in my phone and it's really handy because sometimes I can take some things on the go. So the first thing you want to do is visit notion that so now before hitting that triumph notion for free, we're going to check the different plan options you can choose from. So if we click on pricing, you can see that you have two options for personal accounts. The free one and the pro one was cost about $4 per month. Now, I would recommend highly to start with a free one. You have nothing to be scared of losing from the platform. I was using the free personal one for many years, so it should be fine for you. Also, if you're a student, you can get the personal approach plant for free. You just have to go down here. Look for Education, click that and sign up with any.edu account. Now without further ado, you can click the trend notion for free. You can sign up with either your Google account or your Apple. That's it. By now you should be ready and haven't created your new notion account, which means we can move on with notions interface. 4. Getting Started with Notion's Interface: After reading your account and confirm your e-mail address, we're ready to take a look at notions interface. You should be able to see something like this page. Of course, there might be some changes in your screen based on the options you picked when setting up your account. In Notion, there are too many areas you care about. The sidebar and the editor. The sidebar is expandable ends your main navigation system. All the pages and databases you create will appear here. And as we'll see, you can also nest pages inside that other for infinite levels of organization. Now let's explore the top of the sidebar, which contains several key features. First, there's your workspace switcher. Where did you can find your name? And if you click on it, you can treat between Workspaces you'll belonged to, create a new one, join another one, or log out. If you look closer, you can also check out your plan options and the number of users. That is, workspace has QuickFind is your scheduling notion and can also be triggered with a Command or Control plus P keyboard shortcut. I find myself using this shortcut a lot. It saves me a lot of time. We're trying to find for a specific page in all updates you can see everything that has been made by either you or your colleagues in this current workspace. This can be pretty useful if you can't remember what you previously did or if you want to see who changed what by clicking setting is a member's, you can see more information about your account, your preferences, your plans and billing options, as well as turn to dark mode on. Unfortunately, there's not still an option where it's saying these modes based on your computer interface or the time of the day. So you will have to do it manually. The shortcut for that would be Command plus Shift plus l will not get into much detail here, but you can take these different options freely by yourself and that you can see the workspace area. You can open up any sidebar toggled to review pages nested inside pages, which can be also called nested pages. For database pages, you can open the toggle to see all the different views you've created of that database. Don't worry about databases and views just yet. We will cover in detail in the coming lessons in favorites, you can ping pages you need to access quickly to the top of your sidebar. This section will appear when your favorite your first page. Now let's keep that template button which opens up our template picker. Here you can create a new page using static content to help you accomplish any of 100 jobs as national website claims, we'll talk more about templates for how to use them in following session. By clicking Import, you can easily transfer information from different apps and formats notion. For example, if you're using Evernote or Trello, you can automatically transfer your notes and projects notion. I would recommend doing that if you want to decide whether notion could really replace either one of these apps, trash contains all the betas you delete. You can drag and drop them in here, and you also can click on trust to share, to view and restore these pages. Notion has your back if you make any accidental error. So feel free to delete as many pages as you want. At the bottom left you can see the new page button, which you can use to create a new page. Alternatively, you can keep the plus sign next to a beds name to add a page instead, this particular one, the menu bar is present on every page and it has the setting options, but also some more settings for the look and feel of each page in more detail. You can set it to page with another notion, teammate, or with the rest of the world. Note that if you want to let someone edit your page, you have to add them in your workspace. So he must have a notional account. Everyone with this link though, can access the page even if they're not having a national account. Next to that is a common button where it shows up all the different comments you or one of your teammates has made. We'll discuss more how you could use comments even if you're working on your own later in the class, by clicking the clock icon, you can see the pages history and then add this. There have been made. Now if you click the three dots, you will see some extra options you have for changing the topography, that text size, and the width of the whole paint. If you choose log bait, no editing will be allowed and you can do that if you don't want to accidentally change anything in that page. In this section, you can also find the export and import options which can be really useful, especially the export as PDF or CSV one, if you click Customize, you'll see some other options such as how to see backlinks. These are other pages that are linking the specific page. The last thing I want to focus on is the question mark button at the bottom right. You can use that for any question or help you might need and read the help and support paid for more D-Day. Fortunately, notion had worked really hard to make this page truly helpful with easy and simple steps for you to follow if you get lost or if you're trying to find something very specific grade after having experimented a bit with notions interface, where did two gentlemen to the action part and start creating our own pages. 5. Creating and Editing a Page: Alright, now that we're a little bit more familiar with Notion, we're ready to start creating our own pages and see how we can edit and customize any pays to our liking. The approach we're going to take in this lesson is that we'll be building from scratch a new page so that you'd be able to see the different elements and items you can add. To create a new page. You can press the Command or Control plus n or click the New Page button. You'll see a menu of page types. You can click on them to channel your empty page into a table or a board for instance. Let's choose MD with an icon for now to keep things as simple as possible, then we can choose an icon that can best describe this page and add a cover image. If we want to. For that, we can upload our own image or choose a high-quality images from Unsplash. We can also reposition it and bringing what we want. Let's give our new page a title and some content to get started. Let's continue with plaintexts and how to format when you highlight any words, these manual pop-up. Let's go through all menu options from left to right, so you can see how they look like. You can turn your text into different types of blocks like headings are a subpages within your page. A Togolese, a code snippet, a quote or a colored box elect common to leave a comment on any selection of a text are usually uses to remind myself to do certain things. Next, you have the pretty familiar bold and italics which you can apply for your texts. Standard shortcuts, control and command plus B for bold and control and command plus I for italics. Then you have the strikethrough and cold notation options than n text into a hyperlink by clicking on link and copy pasting the URL you'd like to link to. Pick your preferred sex color from the list or texts background color. Dimension option allows you to connect your pace today it's people in pages and other thing. If you tap the forward slash command in your keyboard, this will bring up the full manual block options. Choose a block you'd like to add from the list or type it after the slash and press enter to have it pop up immediately. Another thing I find myself using frequently is the divider block. You can type forward slash and deep to select it, or types plus three times and it pops up. So immediately, let's say, for example, that we want to create two headings, one with keen takes and one with actionable steps. Now let's talk about the sixth icon. When you hover over any block with your casual, you see the icon appear. Click it to get the following options deleted or duplicated within a page. Turn it to a different type of block, copy the anchor link to this particular block, or move it to another page. The common and color options can also be found here. Next to it is the plus icon where you can add a block below to move things around, displays your march over your blog, click on the sixth floor icon and use it as a handle to drag it around. Release your finger when you find that application to drop your block, you can use the blue lines to find your bearings. Another thing you can achieve with drag and drop is columns. Series two blocks of texts, several wanted to display them next to each other. We can select one of the blocks, click on the sixth floor icon and drag it here. This way we can create as many columns as you want. Let's say now that we wanted to create a food paid for keeping a meetings notes, college are ideal for tips. Warnings are disclaimers. You can customize the module as well as the color of the box to make it stand out. Another block I find myself using often are toggles. They can become handy when you don't want the information to be visible from the start. So you can memorize it that can be used as flashcards in a way, you can see how I use them here to create questions regarding the meeting notes. To-do list are also a big part of notion and I use it all the time for actionable steps. I want to also show you how links works within a page. Let's say that we have our webpage where the job position is uploaded. If we pass the link to Notion, we have the option to bookmark it. So it was sewing this very nice way. By clicking here, we can also add a caption to it. You can do the same thing for videos to embed a video and say your pages paid the YouTube link and what you want it, and select the embed video. Now to add images, all you have to do is type forward slash image and then either upload one from your computer based your image link here or positive from unclass. You can move it down and taint his science as well as other caption. Same thing applies to PDFs. I also want to mention that you cannot code into a paid, but also some math equations. If you're into that. Here you can see some of these examples and how they look like. Before moving on to styling your page, I also want to show you how linked blocks works because I found them quite useful. These are sync content blocks across different locations, meaning a chain somewhere will automatically change all the blocks that are linked with this particular one. For example, you can use these colored block as a reminder in the meetings node. In every node you can have these things to keep in mind. Now to make your page content stand out more, you can also add some color to it. I usually color code only some of the headings in its section. Another thing I sometimes do is add icons next to them. You can do this by using the Control Plus Command plus space shortcut and then select the emoji you want. Good job. Now you should be able to edit and create any new page you want. This point, I would recommend you pause the video and try some of these options yourself so you can get more familiar with them. Get ready for the fun part. As next week we'll be talking about templates and what are the most useful ones. 6. Using Page Templates: Alright, in this course we're going to take a look into paste template so you can explore shop of notions main features. Again, depending on the options you chose when setting up your account, you may see some different pages shown on the left, but that's not a problem because we're going to start constructs as we briefly saw in a previous lesson. If we click templates, we can see the red to use pages that notion has created and has put under different categories. For example, there are pages specifically made for students or for sales and marketing purposes. Of course, you can see that some places are identical through different categories. But for the most part, each one has its own unique pages. The way it works is that you can click on any page to get a live preview of it. And you can last play with it and decide if that may work for you. Then by clicking, use this template, you can add it to your workspace. Again, creating and deleting new pages notion is really simple and you can experiment with new template all the time. And to be honest, that's also part of funding notions of what I would recommend is go through some of these different options and play around with them yourself. Don't worry about organizing your workspace just yet because we're going to devote a whole different chapter two that for now, just play around with a template and exploded. Now the ones I would highly recommend checking out are the general one for daily reflections, the goals one for setting monthly or weekly goals and tasks. The reading list for keeping the books or blocks you want to read in the future. The travel planner for organizing your trypsin locations, the habit tracker for monitoring your different habits in your daily basis. And also for students, I would recommend the classroom home as a homepage for your semester and different classes. And the class notes for keeping notes in a digital format. We're going to discuss later how I'm partially using some of these templates and how I have modified them to match my own needs. Also, you can find templates created by other people online by clicking, browse more templates at the bottom right. For example, here, if you start reading list, you can see what others have done and you can easily duplicate them to your workspace. You can also explore the most popular templates on the specific month. Now that you're playing around a little bit with templates and you have children, maybe your favorite point. We can move on with databases and discuss why they're so powerful. 7. Getting Familiar with Databases : Santa talking about database and see why they're such a powerful children notion. Before we start, I want to highly encourage you to simultaneously do what we're discussing in the course. If that's not an option for you, maybe you can try that out right after the end of it. So databases or Notion, or collections of pages. Here I'll introduced to the general structure of a database, working through different options and features, as well as show you how you can edit and change its beds within a database. A few things to keep in mind before we get into detail. Every item you enter into a database is its own edible page. The properties are customizable and also you can add multiple views more on that in the next lesson, let's start with a tool. We'll use the MOOC reading list for an example. First you can see the view menu where you can add switch between an edit, all the different views of your database. Then we have the Properties menu where you can add edit, height and Seoul properties. And then we have the freezer and short manually specify the criteria for the data you want to solve. You can add as many as you want. There'll be applied in the order they're listed. Moving on, we have the database search type in any word, whether it's in the name of a database item or in a property, and your database will change to only so items that fit that search. Then you can see the two dot menu located at the top right of your database. This is an odds and ends menu where you can copy link to view and see who edited the database last and one. It also includes the option to wrap cells in tables. Next we have the new button. Click this to our new item into your database that instantly opens as a page. Click the down arrow to the right of this button to access any database templates you've configured. Also, you can find in the two dot menu on the top right of your notion window, the database lock. Switch it on to prevent anyone from changing properties and views in your database will still be able to edit the data it contains. Though. Of course, we can see that you can open any of these database roles as a page and change it different properties and content. Now, Notion databases can be viewed either as a full-page or as an inline text next to other content. Let's use the resonance counters, an example. Right now you can see the full page view of this database. You can tell it's a full-page database because you can't add any new content above or below the table. The full-page view can be helpful for more focused work and gives you easy access to the manager at the top right. But let's say you want to integrate that calendar into your homepage. You can do this by dragging the calendar into the homepage. We're still in the full-page view. But you can see that we are in subpaths now looking to this breadcrumbs or the top-left, when we go to our homepage, you'll see that the calendar was added as a sub page. You could leave it like this. Or if you want to see its content just hover over the subpath link, click the three dot button that appears, and then turn into inline. This button will say to the full-page view again, you can use this tend to page option to turn it into a sub page. Again. Let's create an altogether new database and explores different features. Tap the forward slash on your keyboard and select the type of the database you want. Let's create an inline table for now to be used as Task Manager. We can tend to its name, add some new roles and changes properties. We can also filter and short the content of the database. First, let's talk properties. You can change the name of a property just by clicking on it. Here. You can also change the type of the property duplicated or deleted. Clicking the plus button will create a new property. This can be a name and number. I select a date and URL, or any other type of this list that best describes your columns content. For this multi-select value type of property, for example, you can set these values just by clicking the configure option and start adding them. You can hide and show properties by using these switchers after clicking the three dots and then the properties option. For this example here, we will create a database for our weekly tasks. First, let's choose database at a name and then start adding properties name with a default property in its database and you cannot delete it. Let's add one select for the stage of a specific task. The value could be either done in green, in progress in yellow, and not started in red. Then we can add a checkbox to represent if this task is reviewed after its completion. Lastly, let's add a multi-select property for representing what the task is above. We cannot university hobby, podcasts, YouTube video, and so on. Now let's put two or three elements to our database to make it look more real. As you can see in little time we have created and really nice-looking and useful task manager database. The properties are used more often. Another number one, the multi-select and select one, as well as the date. There are also some advanced properties. And between them, I sometimes tend to use the formula one, which is the most complicated one. We'll see an example of that later in the course. Moving on, as we briefly talked about this before, database templates lets you define a page structure and properties you can replicate with one-click. For example, if you have a database about your podcast or video projects like this one, you probably want each time you create a new episode to include the same prompts instructor. With the use of database templates, you save time by automating this process. You don't have to type out the structure for each new database entry. You can simply go to the drop-down and select that template to create a new page with the article format already filled out. Let me show you how to make your own template from scratch. First, click the down arrow next to the blue New button at the top right of your database and select new template. At the top of the pop up that appears, you should see these methods that indicates that you're editing a template. Let's give our template a title and add the desired structure in the body of the page. This is a great way to remember which information and research you have to make before publishing a new piece of content. You can also fill out any property values that you'd like to be automatically applied anytime you use this template. Last but not least, you can add an icon to make things more colorful than predict. Now, whenever you want to add a new episode, you can select your template from the drop-down, the structure and properties will already be applied. You can edit, duplicate, or delete your template by clicking the three dots next to the template name in the drop-down. Keep in mind that you can still turn an empty page into your desired template even without clicking the drop-down template button. The same technique could be used in any other faith, like the general one we talked about in a previous lesson. Let's now say that I want to steam my blog article ideas right into my homepage. In order to do this, all I have to do is create a linked database inside my homepage and link it to the article projects database. This can be done pretty easily by tapping forward slash and then typing linked database and then selecting the one you want. You can see here how this can be easily done. Now I can filter it or add a new view without impacting the data in my original database. However, if I change any property values or content inside the linked database, those changes will be reflected to the original. Another cool feature is that you can transform any database to a simple table, like once everyone is used to in tools like Excel, this was the most wanted feature and it will color grading is available like you would expect. The last thing we want to talk about in this lesson, our formulas. In a notion database, you can add a formula property that let you run all kinds of calculations and functions based on other properties, you can use formulas to manipulate existing data and arrive at many other helpful values. Now, if we create a formula property in this example and click Edit formula, we can see properties, constants, operators, and functions. You can see an example of created. And the logic is this. If the property is done and the Property Bureau is also done, you can solve the first imagined, which is a happy one. Whereas if some of these conditions are not met, you can solve the second emoji, which is a sad one. Now this is a pretty simple demonstration, but you can play around with it yourself. And if you can copy this exact formula, if you want to create something similar. Thank you for watching this class and I know it wasn't overwhelming one, so feel free to rewatch it and Tammy one. Now if you feel confident we can move on with views and see their different uses. 8. Database Views, Filters & Sorts : Let's now talk about fused filtering and sorting. Thanks to database views, each of these databases can be visualized in different ways. We're going to start with filtering and sorting, plot the filter, I click Filter and then other fields. And it's really easy to select the one you want and add it. You can even add multiple filters at the same time for different properties. Note that each filter is attached to a specific view. You can also create more specific database views and combine AND, and OR logic by using feeder groups. This can be nested up to three layers deep. The short feature works the same exact way. You can remove filters and short options by clicking the X button next to them. Each view can be freaking are short-lived however you like. So you can create custom views for your specific needs. Let's say now that you have this list of books, but you want to be able to quickly fill the list 20, so four-star rating books. Click the view button and give your new viewer name. This new view will be created, which then you can filter. To do this, click the button at the top and choose the property you want to filter by. Here, for instance, I'm going to choose reading to be equal to four. Now you'll be able to toggle between your full list of books and just the four-star rating ones. You can also access just a four-star books from your sidebar. Click the doggy to review all the different views of your database. Another thing you can do is add a view to group the books buzz on. You just need to first create a new view and then select the groupby option from the three dot menu. In this way, the information shown changes according to the group option you selected. To share a specific database view with someone in your workspace. Click the Copy link to view button. This will copy URL to your clipboard that you can share via Slack message or email. Or you can use it to create a link somewhere else in your Notion workspace. If you want to edit a view, simply go to the View menu and click the three dots on the right. You'll have the option to rename or change the type of view. And that's how you can use. Usually you don't have to filter your database every time. Find the filters and shorting optional. You are most usually going to use and create a different view for each one of them. Let me now show you some examples of harm using some views and for what uses they make more sense. Starting off with a calendar view, which I'm using in my workout spaces in which their truck, as you can imagine, my workouts throughout the week. As you can see, each entry is also another page and it helps me to be able to see what exercise I have done during each month. You could also change the properties you want to be visible on this view by going to Properties, then toggling the ones you want. Here, I like seeing the duration, the exemption, and the program itself. Essentially, calendars let you visualize how database items connect to certain dates. Let's move to board views. Both can be really helpful for item within a database that moves between stages or that you want to group by property, you can use them for project management or for visualizing your data. As you can see here, every task is a current. They are grouped by their status. If they are done in progress or not started yet. You can easily move cards around and decide which properties you want for each card, as well as which ones you want to be visible. Here, for example, I've met weekly tasks, like seen as much info as possible. So you will see that I have made these options in card preview and card size. Whereas in my monthly goals, I like to keep things more simple. You can also see them by priority if you create another board view and set the freezer to priority. This can be easily done this way. Another view you might find helpful is a timeline one. You can use it to manage your project chronologically. Now, I haven't personally used this a lot because we don't have that many projects. Remember it for some of you, it might be helpful. Here you can see an example of how it looks like and how you can modify some of its features. But I'm gonna let you explore it more on your own if you're into that. Other two useful views include, of course, the familiar tape, one, which we've already seen, and the gallery one, if you want to have a more visual representation of your items. Now if you'd like some of these pages and you want to use them as well. Don't worry, because in the second part of this course, I'm going to show you to them in detail and also show you how you can create some of them from scratch. Now, we're ready to move on with organizing your workspace. 9. Organizing your Workspace: Now that you have to let it and creating the first page and templates that you want to use have to make sure they stay organized by creating a system. Notion provides so many possibilities that you'll soon find yourself with a dozen on different pages in your workspace, which can be both distracting and hard to work with. That's why organizing your pages and content is really important. Now you can do that with two different ways, and it's completely up to you to decide which one you like or even combine them. The first way is to exploit notions infinite number of nested pages and structural your workspace accordingly. An example of that can be seen here. Where did you can see that I have organized my workspace only into six different divisions. From that, there are nested pages in each one of those initial division basis. And then the three unfolds as you continue to dive deeper and deeper into pages, you can do that pretty easily just by dragging and dropping the basis in the places you want. You could even create some more general new ones. For example, if you want to differentiate your personal and work-life pages. Now, if you're comfortable with multiple nested pages and your brain is accustomed with tree structures than this way it should work perfectly fine for you. However, if this sounds too much for you and you're more familiar with Windows step of setup, and you wanted to have everything in one place, then you should probably opt-in for the second option, which is to create a homepage. Change your concern example of how I personally set up my homepage to fit my needs. I used four different categories for my side hustles, my university, my personal life, and my old stuff. Underneath. I have my weekly and monthly goals and then my book reading list and my web keeper. I like to have everything in one page and be able to see some more content pride from our homepage, like my tasks. So I always go to my homepage first and then look into any specific beta one. This four main categories are also the ones I used in my e-mail and calendar. So it's a unified system that works for me in terms of how I like to organize my life. Of course, you may have a different preference and that's completely fine. But I just wanted to give you my take on this particular organizing part. That's basically all I need at the moment, but I surely find myself adding or removing pages throughout time. Now if you'd like the setup, you can duplicate it and usually in your workspace as well. To do this, you only have to find the link in the description of the lesson and then keep the duplicate button. From that point on, you can start customizing and adding your own pages. All of the pages sewn in the class are ready for you to use in the resources section below. It's the same process you would follow when finding a template online. Now if you wanted to create your homepage from crowds, I can briefly show you how it's done. First you have to think of the main category that your work or life can be split into. And then start putting the pages you have already created under one of these categories by dragging and dropping. Let's say we want our main categories to be fun, university freelancing, work and creative projects. I'm using forward slash and H1 to create headings. We can drag them around to create columns. And I also like to put some images next to each one. Then we can start dragging some of these pages from the left on these different categories. Now, if you want your witty tasks to be visible in your home screen, just as mine, you just have to drag it here and change it in doing line. Let's add also a quote to motivate us. I have this one ready. Here we go, using the same techniques and by making any changes to bring that to your liking, you can create any homepage you want. What a lot of people are also doing is create different homepages for their personal and work-life. For me that I like to have everything in one place that didn't work. But maybe for you it will. There are also some more home setups and want to share with you, I found online made by other individuals. The first one is the minimal dashboard. It has a minimum look with no colors and destruction, and has four basic categories and some empty pages you can use as a guideline. The second one is more like a weekend. It's called Life Wiki and has many different categories and pages for anything you can think of. Last but not least, there is this one where you can put your own images and make it a little bit more colorful. Again, you can find links for all of these below, as we already mentioned, even if you're not satisfied with what I showed you here, you can start building your own homepage from scratch or even find some more home setups online. Of course, feel free to combine these two different organization methods if there's something that works best for you. Next up, we will talk about links and backings. 10. Links and Backlinks: As you start using Notion more and more, you see that your workspace week role to hold many tasks. Dogs are nodes now links helped my connections between different pages and each link creates automatically backing itself. So in this lesson, we're going to see how to create and use links and backlinks in Notion. Let's say for example, that in this specific blog article we won't mention a previous one. We wrote about this topic. To do this, hit the open bracket key twice and start typing the name of the page you want to link to. Now, when we click on that article, the backings should be collapsed. Click on the button to expand. And so all the buckling is inside. Of course, clicking any of the buckling, it will automatically take you to the part of the page where this article was mentioned. Note that you can hide backlinks by clicking the three dots menu right here. Now, the nice thing is that backlinks and dynamic, that means that if you change the title of the page or its icon, every link of that page will be updated automatically. We can also use these features on this instance where we want to easily connect our weekly goals with our monthly ones. It works like a reference paints in Week PDF. Another registers found it useful is when keeping classmates, you can jump into different sections or named, you already made some ratio into quickly without having to shut for them. Now we're ready to checkout some shortcuts and sharing options. 11. Sharing and Shortcuts: Alright, in this course we're going to talk about are sharing worksheet notion about some shortcuts I personally find most useful. Let's begin with shortcuts. Now, I'm using a maximum mentioned command lot, but please, if you're using a PC, it sends that with control. Last one is a shortcut to duplicate content by holding option for Mac or alpha Windows when you drug selected content that you could create an incident copy of that content and place it. What do you want in one motion? As always, you can use the sixth dot icon as a handle to drag another short kind of find myself using really frequently is a command plus P to open shirt or jump to a recently viewed page. And also see here some other really popular shortcuts you can try using the dark mode, sixth plus per month plus L and Command plus N to create a new page, I also use command plus e to make awards stand out between texts. Another one is typing slash cern at the start of a block to turn it to another type of block. They also use command plus CIF plus h to highlight the text with the same color as in the last color grading. Now, I will link another pace below where you can find all the shortcuts made by notion. But keep in mind that Socrates named practice. So don't worry about memorizing them all at once. Now let's continue on with sharing options. As we have previously discussed, you can find the same manual whitespace on the top pride in order to let anyone that is not using Notion acts to your pages, you have to enable the setting to the web. Then after choosing whether you want them to be able to edit, comment and let them duplicate your paint. You can choose to invite them via e-mail or just shared with them. The link when I personally do is most of the times I shared the link with my friend because some of them are not using the ocean and it works fine. Now note that the sub-pages of that specific patriation with the other person will also be available to them. You can check if your link works by opening Chrome and using CIF plus command plus n tuple incognito mode and paste it in here. Sweet search engine indexing on so that your page can appear in search results on Google and other search engines. In that sense, you could let other people see your blog articles or your recipe pages. So that's a nice feature to have. Great. Before ending this first section of the course, I also want to talk about some export and import options of nausea. 12. Importing and Exporting: Let's take a minute and discuss how you can integrate other object you're already using with Notion by clicking that import option on the sidebar, this block would pop up and you can see all the different applications you can import content from. The input I have used is Evernote one where I imported my book notes notion. The process is really easy as you just have to connect to your Evernote account and then select from here the notebooks you want to import. Then this is how they're going to show up. You can change the view to gallery if you prefer. The end of the day, you're not really losing any content and you can still keep using your Evernote account if you prefer to do so. Personally, I'm still using evidence for quick notes as it is quicker and then imported all once per month to my Notion account where I have everything more organized, the same supplies for any other applications like Google Docs or some Excel files you might have in CSV format. In this case, you will have to first export your file to CSV and then import it directly to Notion. Now let us discuss about exporting content. Let's say you have created a really nice dark. You want to use it as a PDF or want to keep working on it on a different application. Take this course week for example, I created the notion, but I wanted to share with different students for my other class. What I did is click the fried or icon here and then Export and choose PDF. You also have some other options such as what is included in what format. And here you can see the final result. You could also export your whole workspace content if you are migrating to a different application by going to settings and members, then scrolling down to Settings. Last but not least, let's quickly measure integration with our apps. You can easily embed a Google Drive file by typing forward slash and Dr. Look for the file you want and that's it. Clicking on it will take into your Google Doc. You can do the same thing with your Google Calendar, but only if you're using the same address as the one connected to your Notion account. Other integrations include slag, slag, Asana, Trello on GitHub. If you're interested into any of them, you can check out your Connected apps by clicking Settings and members and then connected apps. This is the last chapter of the first section, which means we're ready to move on to the more interesting stuff. We're gonna see how my workspace looks like and what pages have been using in much detail. 13. Exploring my Notion Pages: Welcome back With this lesson wind or the second part of this class, where we will focus more on specific notion pages and how I personally use them in my everyday life. Now, we have already talked about my homepage setup and my rationale behind it. So let's not waste more time and start seeing in detail some of these pages you can see here. First off, we have the Resonance Calendar. It's a basic gut from Ali Abdullah and it's basically a record of all the interesting things you learn, read, or listened to in your everyday life. Here I mostly put certain ideas, opinions, or techniques. I find interesting that I came across to a podcast episode and blog article or whatever. Sometimes I put the entire content, whereas most often I just write the summary of it or just the thing that caught my attention. For example, here we are in the list view and if we click on the cold email, Let's say you will see that this is a cold e-mail template I got from the ground up. So going back, you can also see the different properties is Leinhardt so as to be able to quickly find things I'm looking for. I can choose to have the links shown from the three dots or not. If we see my different views here, we have the consumption table, which presents everything in a table. The fuel, which is just the least, the gallery and the most useful want the calendar view. Thus the default view are used for these paints. It's really easy when I see something interesting to come here, clicking the current date and create my bait. For example, this is something interested I learned from this particular podcast episode. Now we can see this entry on top of my list. Random thoughts. It's just a text-based where I died from time to time when I wanted to quickly express my mind. Nothing too fancy or unique here. Moving to another base I'm using all the time. And this is the blog article ideas page. That on top I have another page that all I need, one which has some really basic and important info for writing on Medium, which is a platform I published my articles on. Currently I'm publishing both on my website and on medium. But when I got started, I found the shortest that really helped me get going. Anyways, other than that, this bed is yet another database. As you will soon start realizing most pages I have built and use our database because this is the main advantage of notion compared to Excel or Google Docs. But in content into tables with properties, but at the same time, having each row be a completely different paints. If we open each of them, we will see that it has a certain format. That's because I created a template for each article that contains title ideas, keywords I want to put from brainstorming and the editing checklist. I found that it's Imam to publish a new article, I need to perform the same task. So why think about them, it's time. And after that I have the article body, which if I go to edit an article, you will see it has everything from headers, pictures, and the text itself. So when a new idea comes into mind, I click new beds template and then tried to describe what I would like to share it answered or write about integer particular piece. Then I tend to its number because by default is set to 999 and that's about it. As I keep writing, I find myself adding or removing things from this template. But in general Electric keep things as simple and as minimal as possible. The other properties are used for this database are pretty simple. They have the usual status than a multi-select indicating where the article was published, the date, the public's checkbox, that publication which refers only to medium and the article URL. This base has helped me a lot to have all of my articles, ideas into one place, add new ones and keep progress of what I have already written about. I will start with you, as well as everything we cover in the resources below. Here is my investment trachea. Last year I started investing in the S&P 500 ETF and I'm trying to invest a certain amount of money each month. The top have a colored for the main reasoning behind creating this beat. I like doing that and adding the date and the place this was created. So I can always keep in mind it's main purpose. After that, I want to be able to see my current monthly goal with for now is set to 100. Then you can see a database called calendar of investments. Now I created this page mainly to track when I should put funny and how much should mean. As far as properties go, we have the investment name, the type of investment which can be ETF. And if TO crypto the status that can be done or scheduled, the date of the investment, the year we among boot and the portfolio value at this particular moment of time. Also in the bottom of the amount column, I can see the amount of money I have put over time and I can quickly compare it with the portfolio value. You can quickly do that by going here and selecting the sum value. Of course, for monthly or yearly returns and percentage stains, I have my broker account and another Excel file. The good thing with this paint is that I can export this data to a CSV and make all the more complex calculations I want. In fact, because for the CTF, the goal is long-term returns. I will probably create at some 0.1 that has only the human numbers. For now though, I simply wanted to create a habit and a process. So this works fine for me. Here. I also have another page I found online and have tried using in the past. Here there are calculations about the growth of your investment and its average growth. You have to put different numbers each year, but it can be pretty useful. The person that created it also has put a tutorial in witted explain how it works. Moving on, I have a Beta created for my needs of getting a job. For those of you that have experienced how getting a job is sometimes a full-time job. I created this paint. I wanted to have everything organized in one place, keeping track of a plank, the different positions, connecting with HR people and track the progress of each application. It's a simple database that only has the necessary properties. Here I created closed for rejected or accepted position, nothing for no action. And then waiting for acceptance, having sent the first message slash email and then getting the first interview or contact, then we have the contact person so I can know with whom I'm talking each moment of the procedure in case I want to come back later. And the comments section where I quickly describe the story behind this position for me and this word, all I needed at this point. And you will see that here I haven't created a template button or different views, but only having started the table based on the state. Once I'm saying, is that you don't always have to create complicated databases with different views and charting options. It's completely up to you and your needs. Now, moving on from my side, hustle. So university as just want to clarify the memory, if you're not a student, you may want to skip that part of the video. However, I think that you either way gets some ideas because I'm not only focusing on student pages, moving to the university section first, we have the DMSC class notes. The MST is my university department. So that's where the name comes from. This is based on one of Notion template. So you could easily find it on templates under Students here. Every row represents a different node for a specific lesson in class. In the name section, I put the name that characterize its chapter, and then you choose the class itself. Jeremy, you place a class of this semester. When you are preparing for an exam, you can label each chapter based on how well you think, you know it's content. Then you have the link to the materials or the class, like the portal of your university and the slides for this specific lecture. I also choose one same icon for its different class to be more easily visible. So if we open, for example, the first chapter, you can see my notes. Notice how I use color grading to make things more visible and also the use of toggles. Toggles are great for content that you have to learn, even sometimes work toward. And you want to check yourself like flashcards, please the question in the title and then they unchanged said the toggle and one revising, trying to answer these questions as good as possible. Everyone who uses different cues weren't taking classmates. So there isn't something special to my take. Just follow what is working best for you. This bait could also be adjusted and used for, let's say, business meetings with a different projects or plants replacing the classes. Now for my semester abroad, I took a different take and try a different template. This is why I'm showing you both of these templates that are really similar. And so you'll be able to see that you are evolving and changing your pages as you try new ones and get familiar with Notion. This one is created by Janice status and I found it really useful. She has done a really amazing jump in connecting different elements and you'll be able to see what I mean. The first section is the bookmarks one, there is a brain dump page was I didn't find myself using but still makes sense to exist. Then there's my favorite one, the assignment exam schedule. Here you can put any exam, assignment, group, project or quiz. You just have to put your courses on the select list and that's it. Use the same colors you use there also here, where you again have to add your semester courses. Now, in each one of these pages, you can put your instructor's name, email the course's syllabus, the learning objectives, or even calculate your grade. Below that, is the node stable? What do you can put your notes are specific corrosion pages for each class. I'm not that good into note-taking when I'm in class, but I created some that helped me navigate the course and remember where the professor paid more attention. Other than that, you can also add your wiki schedule to have an organized and color-coded Jen to make things nicer and easily to see, then you have the upcoming due dates table, which is the one you populate in the beginning, and a calendar view. You can see how to plan your assignments and exams. I didn't like the way this template is made up and has everything I needed for a semester abroad. So I hope you also find it useful for monitoring my habits. I recently started using this habit tracker made by elisa marijuana every month is inside its own toggle. And when you download the template, you can easily change your habits to your personal by opening any month and deleting, adding columns? I personally truck my eight-hour sleep, making my bed generally meditating, going to the gym, reading one hour per day and using skincare. But how does it work? Let's say you want to add a new month. What you have to do is add on this hidden group today's date and a new toggle with automatically be created. Now every time you click New in the table and neural will show up with today's date. So as you can imagine, the goal is to visit the speeds everyday, clearly new row and taking off your habits, I usually create the road for the whole upcoming month, so I have everything ready beforehand. This is my workout. Struck it. I use it in the calendar view and after a workout or at the end of the week, I come here and click at the desk and select the duration of the break, the expression and the program I did. This way. I have a good look on my workout schedule and I can remember what program I did each day, but pretty straightforward. I've also put this page into my favorites as I use it all the time. Next up we have annual reviews. This template page and idea is something I got from Ali Abdel. And as you can see, I've been using it for the last three years. Essentially at the end of each year, I do it on New Year's Eve. Usually you sit and write how this year was in terms of different aspects. For example, if we applied the annual review for the 2019, you'll see that first we have a section called thinks I'm grateful for. Here we have the people that made a difference in our lives. I create a different bullet for each one and create some words about our relationship that year. Then we have experiences like trips or whatever you regarded as experiences, accomplishments as this things you managed to do within that gear, material, things you bought and you're grateful for, and game changers. For example, you will see that have written 12 books as an accomplishment, my new pair of glasses for things and notion as a game changer. Moving down, we have things you discovered this year in 2019 and discovered, for example, audible and completely changed my life as a reader. Then you have life lessons where you read the things you learned and stuck with you. And lastly, probably my favorite detection, which is staff to work on, as they call it says, you can create your own categories here. I have laughed university work and side hustles. In the bottom of the page, we also have our bucket list, which sometimes we call the impossible list. And you can make it as unrealistic as you like. This pattern page was created by a need as I had gathered three different beds reviews. So creating a database space to put them under seemed like a good idea. This is another notional template I found really useful when planning for a trip. Each row of this database is in your trip, and as you can see here, I used it to organize my trip to LA. I created a different headings for airplane tickets, housing things to visit and places to eat. That would really helpful. We're trying to design the dates, but also the different varieties in hotels and BNB. This book notes is a page created from the import of my books notes from Evernote I created recently. So as you can see, it's not really policy yet. The idea is that I'm gonna be able to connect the nodes. I already have the books I have in my reading list that we already seen at the bottom of my heartbeat. From the old stuff section, I want to show you my podcasting class, which has similar structure to this specific class. This is another online course I have created on how to create your own podcast. It starts again with a colored with a date and the goal of the spades. And below that we have paid it for class description and dishwashers and the podcast class PDF. We'll get to them in a second. Then we have the links needed for the course. This is the list I came up with when creating the course. Later, I put all this information inside this page. Then we have the hours spent section in width and monitored how many hours it took me to draft an edit this course is videos. We have the most important element, which is yet another database that includes specific lesson. We have minutes of the video, checks for audio, video, video, video and after effects. Then we have the face either drafting, shooting tetra and the recording date, as well as the last updated date. Now if we open one of these lessons, you will see a certain structure. First we have the drafting area and then the camera shots. And on the right side of the face that are the lessons, biscuits, or goals. I have created a template for that. And if we go to Edit, you will see how it looks like as I wanted every chapter to have the same structure. Now if we go back, these three phases are pretty straightforward. This one is for the text in the description of the class PDF I made as a summary of the course. Here you can see how you can play with columns and create a really nice and full of information page. And last but not least, the podcast, so Matter, which was given as a free template to duplicate to all my students. Think these articles used to be just a repository for our articles. We were riding in an organization. As you can see, it's paid Is a completely read the article with photos and everything. After this first section, we have weekly and monthly goals. Moving on with my weekly goals, I write the start of each week date, for example, now February ninth and then add my tasks. They view are used most of the time is the board view in order to quickly see and move items around. Now if we click properties, I have the count previous set to page content to be able to see the different todos of different goals, as well as the name and the tags. That elision column is linked to monthly goals below. In that way I can see which weekly things I'm doing are contributing to my monthly aims. To do this. Just create a relation column and then choose the page you want to link this specific task, let's say. Other than that, I usually create to-dos for every weekly task to break it down to actionable steps, monthly goals follows a similar structure and columns, but I'm viewing it in a table format. The hidden groups also represent different months and it's pretty easy for me to hide and saw a new one. When that happens. It used the same structure as the habit tracker we showed earlier, but I'm going to create one weekly and monthly paid exactly as these two. In the next lesson, you'll be able to see exactly how it works. In these pages. I don't usually write main things apart from that end goal, which is indicated by its name. My reading list consists mostly of the books I have already read. Some ion desperately want in my bookshelf and some I already have, but haven't read yet. As far as properties go. I have this honor of the book like biography sands, friction, productivity, ectetera. When I finished reading it, the status which can be not ordered in bookshelf, reading, listening and finished. I also have the score of the book out of five stars. The author of his book, a brief summary and the relation between the book and my bed containing the notes I have for each book. First I wanted to have here also the nodes and the review of the book. But this change in time, as I found it more useful to keep two different pages, one for my reading list and one for my notes and just connecting them. This is a database I created a named web keeper to save articles and find online. You can download notions Web Clipper for Chrome, Safari and Firefox. And where do you find something interesting online, but don't have the time to read it, you can easily put it in that database. This word article, for example, all I have to do is click here and save it in my web clipper and it will immediately show up in my Notion homepage. I can even go to my Resonance Calendar and create a relationship column so that I can relate a note here with something I found online from our web keeper. You can even save articles to Notion through your form in iOS and Android. I know I talked about a lot of things in this lesson, so feel free to come back to it whenever you want. Next up, we'll create together from scratch some of the package mentioned. 14. Creating Pages from Scratch: Alright, after showing you my Notion, pages will take some time to create some of them from scratch so you can see the process behind it. We can start with his blog article ideas page, and we will try to produce the same page starting from scratch. Let's click Command plus n to open a new page. We're gonna give it a name, add an icon, and a background image, choosing one from unsplash. First, let's create the outline need page. After putting that below an H2 title. Here, you can put any information that is general. You can use it anytime as a guideline. Then let's choose database and give it a name. Let's create the first property, which is gonna be the number of the article choosing the number property. Let's change tags to status as a select property and add the usual done in progress and not started giving them the familiar color. The next column is going to be multi-select, indicating if the article is published in medium and in my website. Next column is going to be the public state. After that, we can choose a checkmarks indicating if the article has been published and the select to indicate the Medium publication it puts publics. Create a URL property for the articles final link on the web to Mexico, content of the page more visible. Let's change the page to full width. We can add a dummy article in the first row. And now we are ready to create our template. Give it a name, and set the number 2999, and the status did not start in by default. After that, we want some mental information. First doggy is the title, ideas and keywords. Below that. Let's create the sub page to contain our editing checklist. The things we have to check before each article is published. Give it a name and a nice icon to follow that. Stopped writing our to-dos regarding the articles, ideas, images used, its title and also the Instagram posts or visual we want to create on camera. Let's create another setting for the article idea and another one for its main body, separating them with a divider. Now let's go back to our pattern pace and try creating a new article. Usually the template we just created. This one is about politics. And now we can see it popped up on top to make sure that each new article pops up on the top of the table, we can create a short with the article number descending. Now we can send the number two what is supposed to be. And that's how we quickly created our initial paid that is ready to host your new articles or videos or any other project ideas that you want to monitor. Feel free to modify its features and properties based on your needs. Next, we can see how to create the investment Drucker I showed you earlier. Let's give our new pads and name and as always, add an icon and a background image to it. Then let's create a color to remember its main purpose, but also the date and place it was graded. After that, we can create another color to indicate our monthly investment goal. The icon to master goal and it's colored to make it stand out. After that, we can choose database and give it a name. Here I'm changing the first property to a select value and creating the options we want, like ETF, crypto or an SDK. The next column is going to be the status. Another select value. We want none scheduled on this example, sending the colors as always to green and yellow. The next following columns or the date of the investment and the year, which is another select between 202220234. Now, following that, we want the column for the amount of money. I also like to put their money back emoji to make it stand out more, sending it to the number value and we're set last column, we want the portfolio value, which is again a number. I should have configured the number to choose also the specific currency, like dollars in Europe. But it's not a big deal. Now set and we can move the column size to make the whole table more visible. Let's populate the first row with an example like the one I had in my initial paint. Let's create a second row just to make it look more real. Now we can go to calculate and to some, to say the sum of their among column. We can also create an ETF only view and then create a filter which has attack ETF on it. You can of course create other views showing let's say, only the investments of 2021 and so on. Next, we will create this exact structure you can see here for our weekly goals command class and to create a new page and as usual, starting with its name, with the start of the week. And I cycled to go along. And if we want a background Thema, after changing the position of the anticodon, the first thing you want to do is set your properties here when it a property indicating the due date for the task. Next, I like having the tax of its task, and after that it's specific priority. Let's delete this empty cart in the middle and create a new one. It's due date and set the values that priority can take to very high, high, and medium. Then add the values of the tax, for example, fan work, Jim, etc. Here forgot to change the property name to tax, but it's completely fine. Clicking on properties and card preview, we can select the sheet, each page content and set the size to medium, as well as make visible all of our properties. Now if we tried to add some to-dos, we will be able to see them from the main page. Let's now create a new view to see the task by due date. Will have to do is group them by due date and Tuesday. If we wanted each day to show up on top, we should have put another select property with each day of the week and groups a table based on that. Moving on, let's create another view to share everything by priority, grouping by the table based on priority. And here we are. We can move things if we want. And also name our first view, which was by default set to board view to have everything more clear where now set and we can even add some examples to make it look more real. Now let's continue with monthly goals as this is a place we want to create, following the same process for naming, adding icons and backgrounds. Then we can create another database. The first property we want, it started adding the familiar by now values. Then we wanted to put the year as before. And since there are colors, last column, we put a relation one so that we can connect our weekly goals page with this one, which had the name of the database we want to link it to. And we're done. Now let's create that o as an example and see how it looks. Let's even connect it with one of our weekly goals. As a last step, we want a table to be grouped by date and specifically by month. Also tends to reverse chronological and toggle the heart MD Groups option. Glad a new month for March, where we have to do is go to this hidden group and added OH, with any date that is in March. The last piece I want to show you is this PDF bays that who have also seen in a previous lesson. Now we're not going to recreate the whole page, but I just wanted to show you how you can use columns, call-outs, color grading, totals and headings to turn a page from boring texts to something pretty and easy to read. In this first one, let's see how we can transform these parts of the page. First, let's add a nice icon before these two hydrogens. Let's drag this content to create columns. Putting everything into place, and then change this piece of text to a callout, make it stand out more. Here you can see how we can also use the term feature to create to cause drugging. This last piece of content, we can create a third column. Now, I tried to show you a different setups and structures so you can have a more holistic view on how some of these pages can be created nearly from scratch. If you still have questions though or you want to see more pages created like that, please leave that as a common below. Next up we will discuss about some more honorable page mentions that either I have used in the past or I've seen other people use and that you might find interesting. 15. Honorable Page Mentions: All right, Now we'll see some more pages that are fun online made by other creators and I think you might find useful. Now the first ones are more generally and personally keeping a hardcopy of my general, but I have tried to using notion in the past and I will say it was an overall good experience. And of course, having it in a digital form has its own advantages. This is the beta would recommend it's made by notion and it's pretty straightforward. Another one is the three-minute journal, which is built by bonding pairs and has a pre-made template on each entry with some questions and chapters that might help you on what you shouldn't write. If I were to use it personally keep only some of it. Let us say two or three. Bullet journaling is using a different technique in general, but I thought I should give you two different options. Next up, we have yet another yearly review page made by joined banks that is actually inspired by the one I showed you made from Ali Abdel. It has the same categories as the one we discussed, but I liked the addition of the table of contents and the guiding questions in each of the categories. It's pretty much like the updated and improved version, Shall I thought you might like it. I'll paste template. I found really interesting as a book lover is this library created by Joel Rochester. In fact, I continued to using for my daily driver and have studied playing around with it. First of all, it has this amazing office style beat at the top of the paint. I already loved it. The left-hand side we have the librarians desk with three pages. The first is your book sold, then your collection as books you wanted to have in your library. And the third one, your favorite books of all time. Underneath there are also some quick links to Goodrich and store graph. I personally use Goodrich for my wanted to read list. So it's good to have a link here. You can see that it's like a separate workspace having two images, and quartz in the middle. In the right-hand side, you can see your reading goals. You can change that. So let's say ten books, and then it automatically changes the percentage you should have completed. You can also create a new one for the next year and have everything in one place. Below you can see some guidelines of how you should read a book when to read it, for example, as a five or a three-star book. Last but not least, we have the bookstore reading or have read in a simple database, really nice and a different book library page, I highly recommend it. The next template I want to show you is all about using Notion as a note-taking system. Now, I'm still using the default iOS app and sometimes Evernote. But if you want to try notion like Thomas Frank dead, then you want to take a look at this template. You have your notebooks at the left of the paint. They work like in any other note-taking up in your inbox to the right. This works perfectly for quick notes, right at the spot that you can lean in on categorized into your specific notebooks. Just drag and drop them to the notebook they belong. Now if we open a notebook, you will see that it is a database and each node has these different properties. You can data file to eat, set reminders. And most importantly, for this template, ten's the status to either open, archived, or urgent. So you can imagine how you can use this status property to prioritize your different nodes. The last thing and most unique of this template is the status dashboard, which lets you instantly see open an edge and notes from every notebook. It's also a great example of using linked database. Remember that whatever changes you make 20 of the content here will also have an impact in the parent database. In other cool pays I found is this one from validating pairs. And it's all about making decisions. I used it once and especially the questions that are under the first simple pros and cons stable helped me make up my mind. In any case, it's an interesting idea and thought and you can change it to your own needs and questions you want to ask yourself when faced with a difficult decision. Another interesting pays is this special sharing page created by nausea. You can keep track of other people who meet, uh, you want to keep contact with. Even explains how this template works. I will let you explore it by yourself. If that is something you find interesting, I use it for awhile, but it wasn't that easy for me to put updated content in this page through my everyday life. Maybe I will come back to it and give it another try. At some point, there are literally hundreds of different templates you can explore in Notion webpage. And you can even choose the topic if you want to make the shirts more specific. Now, if you didn't find something that interested you, you can go ahead and look there in any case, I want to thank you for watching and I will see you in the next class what we'll be talking about next steps. 16. Conclusion & Next Steps: Congratulations, this course sufficient complete, and you are now ready to explore notions full potential as next steps, you should take a look if you already haven't done showing the resources below, won't. You'll find some more videos of other people using Notion, but also the links and pages we talked about. I also want to invite you to share with the community in the project section below, any homepages or any other pages you created by your shelf. Others may benefit from it, but you also should be able to find some interesting ideas. I want to thank you for taking this class, hoping that you found it useful. In case you have any questions or suggestions for improvement, please leave them as a comment below or contact me via email. It will also mean a lot to me if you left an honest review so that other students know what to expect in any case. Again, thank you so much for watching.
