1. Introduction: Hi, in this course I
will teach you how to practice on a specific
ref in a song you like to sing or any
melody that you have difficulty singing so you can sing it perfectly effortlessly. Now, if you have a difficult
Melodyne your head, sing it on record yourself, then watch the lecture
so you understand how you should
practice properly. I'm practiced for a few minutes. Then sing it again and record yourself and you will definitely
hear your improvements. Now, let's start.
2. Speed: Let's start by saying that
rough sound wrongs and hard melodies in general are hard to sing
because they're fast. And when you want to
sing him fast melody, not only your voice
needs to be agile enough to switch between
different nodes fast and without mistakes. Your ears, your
brain also need to have enough time to hear
those notes properly. And imagine if singing a melody fast is the
only thing you do. You're not giving your brain, your ears enough time to really
hear those notes properly in the first place
and understand what is it that you are
trying to actually seen. For example, if I want to
see a rough like this. But I chance single practices, the slow, how I got to be able to sing
it fast like this. So if you really want
to perfect humility, you have to practice
it slow because you need time to hear
the notes clearly. You need time to hear
the mistakes you make. If it's too fast, you're
not gonna be able to notice on here the mistakes. And if you, if you can't
hear the mistakes, you're not gonna be able
to fix them anyway, because you don't
know what to fix. You just know that
what you're singing is not good enough or it
doesn't feel right. So if you're a struggling
to sing a melody, a ref tried to sing it slower. So you can hear you're off notes and you're wrong
notes more clearly. I should also say that
it doesn't feel good. That's why people usually don't sing the parts
and practice to parse they have
problem with more often or practice
them the slower, because all you hear is your mistakes and
it doesn't feel good. But it doesn't matter
because we are practicing. And our first
priority to perfect the melody is to
slow things down.
3. Hum: If you have difficulty
singing a melody, you don't want any
additional weights like the lyrics and whether all the consonants and vowels to make it even more
difficult for yourself. So what you do instead
is that instead of using the actual words
to practice the melody, you use a simple home. For example, if I want to
practice a phrase like this, now here I am on the root again. There I am. Instead of practicing
good like this. There I am, there I am. I lowered the speed and
also singing with a hum. And I can gradually
speed things up and add the wards neuron. Now here I am on the root again, there I am narrow. So by using your home, I'm removing the additional
information from my brain so that I can
focus more on the notes, the pitch, instead of the
tone and detection each, I'm hearing more melody and I can focus more on
the melody this way. If I'm wrong somewhere and some nodes are nine their place, I can notice it easier and also work on it easier
and fix it faster. So the general theme here
is that you need to break down what you're singing
into its most simple form. So you can sing it right, and practice it right? And then gradually add the additional things
and build it up.
4. Staccato: To break down a phrase
further and make it even more simple for our brain and
voice to connect with it. We can sing it more
staccato than Negara. This is our href. Instead
of practicing it like this, we can sing, get more
staccato like this. What's good about practicing
with staccato is that you can't fade in and
out of notes anymore. You have to land on one note. If the add notes
isn't the right one. It's gonna be super obvious. But in contrast, when
you sing more like God on your fading in and
out of notes like this. You're giving yourself
some room to make mistakes and not
notice those mistakes. So with the help of a staccato, you're clearing the melody even more for your brain to really understand it and recognize the exact notes you're
trying to sync.
5. Keyboard & Tuner: What do you want to
practice a melody? It's great to get help from
a keyboard or a piano to find M practice the exact
notes. For example. Now, you don't have to have
a keyboard or a piano. Can simply download
a piano app on your phone or laptop
and work with that. If you want to find the
notes you're singing, what you can do it
with a keyboard. You can also get help from a tuner app to show you
which nodes you are singing. And with the combination
of a keyboard and a tuner can perfectly fine
on practice any melody. Now, I won't go over on
how to use a tuner or as I have a full lecture on this
subject in this course, singing on pitch, how to
sing in tune parts one. If you want to know how
to use a tuner app for your singing wash
to tuner lecture.
6. How To Practice: In this lecture, I want to
show you how I practice a riff or any melody I
have difficulty singing. So you get a sense of how you need to
practice on your own. I start by breaking down the
phrase to its simple form. Perfect it there. Gradually transform it to its
original form so I can make sure it's perfect with words added on high-speed and down. We'll do this earth forever. And then we'll do
the earth forever. And dad will dwell on
the earth forever. Well, dwell on this
earth forever. And dad will dwell on
this earth forever. Now, keeping in mind, I'm showcasing the right
approach for practicing. I'm perfect in your melody
for just 23 minutes here. I can work on it way more
for ten minutes or so. You might need 30 minutes
to perfect humility. You have problems singing, and it just two minutes. So be open-minded and put as much time into your
practice as you need. Sometimes it takes an
hour of practicing every day for a week to
perfect just one riff.
7. The Big Picture: Now you know exactly
how to practice a riff or any difficult melody. You start slow with
the harm and staccato, and then gradually
make it faster, more legato, and bring the actual consonants
and vowels back. Now, keep in mind, singing your riff perfectly
and effortlessly is not all about practicing
that specific riff. If you don't have enough control over all control
over your voice, you might still not be able
to sing it difficult ref, even though you have
practiced it a lot. For example, if
your voice is under pressure while you're
singing Giraph, then that riff does
not matter anymore. The melody does not matter
simply because your voice is under pressure and
because of that you will sing anything of fish, even an easy and
various law ref, so you need to know how to
properly use your voice and practice on a daily so that you have enough
control over it. And for that I suggest you
check out this course of mine, how to sync the ultimate vocal exercises so
that you better understand your singing and have the exercises to train
your voice daily. Especially keep in
mind to warm up your voice before trying
to work on a melody. Now, another thing I should
also mention is that some melodies might simply be too difficult
for you to sing. You might first need to level up your overall listening
skill and work more on your ability to hear the notes properly and sing more on pitch. And for that, I
strongly suggest you watch this course
singing on pitch, how to sing in tune parts one, and see if you're comfortable
enough with its exercises. It's a great test to
understand your skill level. If you're not able to do
these exercises easily, you don't need to try
practicing reps right now. You won't be able to
sing them good anyway. So try to get better at
singing on pitch first, DO pub this course
and it's exercises, and then come on, work on a specific
riffs and melodies.
8. Final Words: I suggest you grab a melody you like and I start working on it. If at anytime you felt
like you need help, you can go back and watch
the lectures again or ask some questions in the discussion
section of the class, I will happily help you if you have any problem
with your singing. And each can also send your
voice as your project. I will check it and
give you feedback. If you like this course,
please leave a review. I really appreciate it. Smear real pleasure. I wish you the best.
Keep practicing, keep singing. See you next time.
