2. Brand Identity - Logo Design Masterclass: Hey guys, welcome aboard. It's great to have you there already excited about this course and are really common way to get started. So in the first lesson, I'm going to teach you about the, one of the most important things in a business, and that is all about your brand's identity. So your brand's identity starts with your logo. So a key part of your logo is the icon, the colors, the layout, the type. And so I'm going to be talking a little bit about, you know, all those fundamentals and key elements for creating your brand. So it's gonna be really cool. So we're gonna please do take notes. And so do you have some into they can write down with so many you away a lot of stuff. I'm going to talk a little bit about kind of the technical side and the non-technical side, as well. As obviously some users will be quite familiar with certain software such as Adobe Illustrator Photoshop, whereas other users might not be. So I'm going to try and cater for all parties and try and give you a good balance of con Le Monde gotos and how I stop the whole process of creating a brand. And so, so yeah, so let's get straight into lesson number one. Ok, diamond strain to the depend take them guys. What do you think this logo here is actually worth? So this, as you know, is the infamous Nike Swoosh logo. So NORC was actually formed in the sixties and the logo was designed in the early seventies. Boy, a young student who was actually taught boil water, employee owners or all cofounders of knowledge at the time, he was a lecturer. So this logo, so the charge, so the student actually charged the company only thirty-five dollars to create this logo. So, so what is it worth today? So is this logo with thirty-five dollars or is it worth what the company is worth? Nine kit today in 2020 is actually worth 30-35 billion in net worth. So this logo in fact is worth multibillion brand worth. So the, the idea of a logo is, is to create something that reflects your brand, is simplistic, easy to remember, as I mentioned, just reflects what your brand values are, what you know, who you are, what you do, and so on and so forth. So in this example, I've got two tee shirts. So this is just essentially a very basic essentials t-shirt, so it's essentially landless. And the value of this TCA is around five or $10 will follow ten pounds. But, you know, as, as, as, as a synergy put a logo on there, such as this one, then the value of this t-shaped, You can start charging 30, $35, or around 30 pounds. So that's really the power of building a brand and build this overtime. And you build the value of the brand over time. But the key part here is to understand the logo is what identifies you to the whole world. And it's really the core fundamental of this. So moving on to the psychology of colors. Now guys, I'm just going to show you how consumers see certain brands in a certain way. So take a look at this color emotion guide. So as I, as I mentioned before, when consumers or all potential customers will look at a brand or logo. And there's thin psychological factors that come into play. Corridor is a big, big part of that. Wall, make people feel in a certain way. So this is scientifically in factually correct. And there's been big studies that have been taken place on the power of color. On the left here you've got various emotions, so optimism, friendly, excitement, creative trust, peace, fallen balance. So this is a chart that kind of showcases some of the brands and how they use color to showcase and build that psychological and that kind of brand value and that brand image and identity to genome to their target audience. So for example, we're gonna take a look at, excuse me, for aria in their yellow. So that shows they're an optimistic brand. You've got some other famous ones they lie Nick on and Shaoul, and also McDonald's as well. If you take a look at, you know, excitement, so red will get emit. You feel excited, you know, companies like KFC and here, why? Because they know they want to make you feel excited. It's family fast-food restaurant there. What you feel excited when you come there because they wanted to order more, you're going to come in there and be happy, be excited. So essentially you will spend more your automobile with them. And again, Coca-Cola. And you know, when you drink Coca-Cola, they want you to feel excited about the brand. They, you know, they wanted to be quite bold and punchy, so they'll use red. And then you've got Nintendo as well because war is a bold, is a youthful company in Estonia targeting a younger audience, the younger demographics. And then on the flip side, you've got trust and peace and growth. So these are all your blue colors by a dao and the computer and technology. So they're saying, you know, you can trust our technology. They'll use blues, same as Facebook. Facebook will use Bluetooth, gives a feeling of trust, strengthened dependability. These brands will use these colors, particular Conway, their advantage yields got JP Morgan narratives, a huge, huge brand, IBM and so on and so forth. So you've got lots of big, powerful brands. And then this is some of the tactics they use in the soil called in a psychology behind it, that they sort of take on to allow their brand to showcase some things. Again, just defined loss on this, you know, you got peaceful with a green. So you got, you know, and growth and healthier as heliotropic on is. Yeah. You've got BP, which is oil and fuel. So they're saying, you know, we're, we're kind of energy-efficient way eco-friendly, green recording to the earth, Animal Planet and Land Rover. And these are the companies that showcase at their corner earthly friendly, eco-friendly. They care about the environment, they care about their customers. So that's colony image. It builds in the consumer's mind. And, you know, this might be subliminally. So a lot of this is called a solid ecological and sending subliminal messages. So that's something that you might not be thinking about, but it's actually playing into the mind and its building in image psychologically. And suddenly we're in, in your mind about this particular brand. So it's very, very powerful stuff is very, very interesting. And again, the example we've talked about, Newegg. So they'll use balance. Why? Because they do a lot of sport and our love cams her lobby with things like yoga, sports, you know, you need good balance in that sense. Very mutual collar says very broad color cuz they wanna target a very soybean abroad kind of audience. So yes, I'm gonna hope that gives you a good indication for colors. So I mean, if you're thinking of what color should I go for, for my brand, think of what you do, what your, what your products are they sound or the service that you sell, you know, is it is it's something, you know, is it a service that you sell them? Perhaps he might want to consider game flock like a nice blue color. And you know, a day be cooler is an excellent website for that. So if you log onto Adobe cooler, which are just show you my screen now. So this is an excellent kind of website that allows you to pick and explore different kinds of colors and choose color waves. And it will call it much here based on whatever you're thinking. Say, you could come in then to talk in a business, for example. And it'll give you a whole multitude of difference of colors that you can play around with. So Adobe Color is, is, is a fantastic one for, for that. And it's completely free. So say subdue, dive in, you know, have a little play around with the colors is really exciting stuff because yeah, that was kind of, you know, your current is called the initial part of Ukulele, building your brand, your identity. Perhaps you know, you're going through a color change or a rebrand, or perhaps you're storing new as a startup. And so this is some of the, some of the things that you can do to, to help you along the way with that. So I'm going to show you some of the things involved in creating a logo. So I'm not going to actually show you, for example, in Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop how to create a logo from scratch. However, I'm gonna show you the Quick and easy way of creating something that's very powerful and helped create your brand's identity. So we're gonna jump in and have a look at a few different solutions because this really depends on what your skill set level is. Whether you, whether you've got design skills or whether you prefer to outsource some of them are theirs or prefer to do it yourself. So what I've done is in lesson one or created a few different scenarios to try and tailor for, for everybody really. And the first one that we're gonna do is we're gonna dive in into looking at some logos online. So these are logos where you can essentially download them from online sources of fresh air with you in a moment. And, and they're yours to keep, you know, you'll, you'll, you'll have the acids for them. And there might be a very small fee involved. You can also get free options. But I'll also show you a mix of everything so it fits well into in, into your personal capabilities. So So just before you start Gary's OUT a brainstorms, logo ideas using the mind map, mythology. So mind mapping is a fantastic way of essentially getting ideas and then branching them out into more ideas. It's like a brainstorm session. Look at cloud style session, where you sort of growing, grow ideas and they Brown trough into more ideas until you find that perfect idea. So say, so. On the screen here you can see an example of a logo mind-map. So what you can do is you can call have placed so you could probably, to start with, he'd go online, perhaps found a few logos that you'd like did general look and feel of. And then essentially just branch off of those. So if you've got, for example, a logo such as National Geographic for example. And he said, Well, quite like the, you know, the, the topography, the toys on this. Whereas I more like the, you know, the, the icon of the target logo. And then you can think of combining something and get some inspiration and ideas and just Cong Lai branch off those. So mind-mapping and don't mind mapping you can apply to anything and everything, you know is fantastic for idea creation and concept generation. So, so Top Tip there and he said it's an action points. Say please do try that before you get started. And now I'm gonna dive back in into sort of create a logo online. So the first side that we're gonna look at is a website called Canva. And I've talked a little bit about this particular website in my Facebook course. It's a fantastic website, are highly recommended in Canvas, really lousy to create logos, images, lots and lots of, you know, simplistic design work for Athena, often non-technical users gives that freedom to essentially do that. So we're actually going to go ahead and actually start creating our logo in Canvas. So as I mentioned, this is totally free. You've got an option to just own up to it with them a couple of details such as an email address and you'll get complete access to majority of that content, which is a lava is premium. And it's set up for 30 days, has told you freeze in to take advantage of that. And so I'm actually going to create a logo and just download one here to show you how quick and easy it is and some of the sort of good options they've got available in here. And in this particular course, we are going to be creating an exciting apparel brand. So we're going to create a shop which is going to be selling apparel, wear clothing. And I'm going to base it around apparel such as hoodies and the hooded sweatshirt for example. And I'll explain a little bit later why are chosen? Those cues can link up to few of the systems inside Shopify, for example. So yes, I do follow, follow me along and take a little look at creating new logo. So I'm just going to show you how, how easy that is. So once you're logged in and you've created your account with Canva, just come on to the home screen on the left here are then more than me to come down and look for logo. So it might not be in this exact same spot here, but it'll be somewhere along here or it will be in the marketing section. So click on logo. So personally, I'm a big fan of mountains and vintage corner. Look, here's just a personal taste at morning in general. So I've got something in mind and a normal also, once we've completed the non-technical side of it, we then move on to a slightly more technical side where I'll show you some of the initial drawings that I've done and some of the common concepts for logo and show you some of those as well. So coming back to here as they're going through this, have a good look through and just solve a, I have a little look at the ones I catch, catch your eye. And he said are on quite a lot, you know, the ones with a mountain on there. So this, for example, looks, looks quite good to me. And some of the bits are not too keen on, on these sorts of these raises or coming here, just left-click and then just delete a file at these Euler's law. Come on there, select and simply delete a quote like this, formed these both here so you can stick to this. So what I do is if I want to edit this, I can just simply and toy pin brand-name safe for this or causes purpose. We will call it, we'll call it heard where say hardware. And that's going to be a power also. Okay, so now all I need to do is simply hit the Download button. As I said, I can go out and grab a rock in a society that 30-day free trial here and try can repro, completely free. So I'm gonna go ahead and do that as a gene. You don't need to do this. I think Ari, so once you've got your logo downloaded onto your local computer, you can then start to play with that logo and you can upload into Shopify and use that as your lego assets. In, in terms of the second option, say the second option is slightly more technical. It's a little bit more of a DIY is a daily south kind of method. And that's more for the, for the techie guys. I wanted to sort of get creative and create their own version of their Lego and do from scratch. So I mean, genuinely oily, follow this corner path purely because of the analog design work in the past. I'm familiar with Photoshop, for example. So this particular method, and it will require some things such as Adobe Illustrator Photoshop. If you haven't got those softwares, but you do prefer to give it a go yourself and you do one, it's all, try yourself from scratch, then you can use a free option. And this is a top tip. You can use a software called photo P, says pH. So that's a completely free websites. If you just search for photo API, you can actually, it's very, very cemetery where Photoshop in fact, but it's completely cloud-based as online is free to use. And you can import graphics images and they're edit them. Learning system. And if you do feel actors or playing around within familiarizing yourself with it, then you could go to and sort of downloading an official pole illustrator for example, if you wanted to. Again back to the logo, then so generally I will start with cholera, just sketching some concepts and some rough design. So I'll show you a closer view of this shortly. So I will just call it just spend, you know, 3040 minutes or roughly in college just sketching out some, you know, logo ideas and some kind of concepts. And just kind of just then showed them to friends, family members. You get there, call it, take colleague, their opinion on it as well. But if you've got one that you'd call unquote favor you like. And you say, yeah, this is the warned, you got the vision for this particular logo for my brand. And they just go for it, you know, and there's no right or wrong way with a logo. And you can always tweak it, change a molded late acorns do a rebrand later as well. So there is really no right or wrong way. So feel free. And you know, just, just go out and just start sketching star drawing how some funds were there. And then what you wanna do is once you've got, you know, kind of, you know, ten or, or, or doesn't also called a Concepts and Monday then wanting con is scan all. Or if you haven't got scattered and take a picture with the smart phone and put it onto your computer. So once you've got it on your computer, you then want to import it into Photoshop Illustrator or you know, as was mentioned for photocopy, use a tool like a pen told or re a Shape tool to go around the logo. And essentially you're going to use your, you're drawing and you either you give your concept as a guide and that, you know, the thing is software is gonna do all the common or the heavy lifting and create that for you as part of a. So once you've created your logo and you're and you're happy with it, and you can then download it. I mean, I'd recommend. I'll give you some of the settings on, on there that you should use it I should be at least 300 DPI or join you gave for 2 thousand by 2 thousand canvass. Why? Because later you wanna solve cribbing. Sure that you've got a square logo also where a portray one, maybe a landscape one to kind of fit different mediums like social media, like Facebook, Instagram. Until an unsafe for say you wanna solve, ensure that you can create your logo in different formats. So you'll see different social media platforms, your website. And of course, if you are studying apparel or clothing, for example, then it can go on there. So so definitely go for a 300 TPR resolution gave us me like roughly 2 thousand by 2 thousand pixels. Cmyk is a good standard to go for. And just say, yeah, just just go for it and have some fun with their head because there's no right or wrong way. And play around with a show does vary around to people see what they think. One of the other really, really important things about creating a logo. And I'll talk more about this shortly in the course as well, is your RAM is to go for a strap line. So this is a top typically say you wanna go for a strap line, say for example, aim for this. In this course, I'm gonna create it in apparel, clothing one. So it's gonna be called hardware. So all I do is underneath as myself company slogan, odd con la, problem, perhaps do something like, you know, and casual wear or been hoodies for you or something like that. So it kind of spouse are exactly what you do inside a couple of, a few seconds. So if you use a lens on your website and the first thing they do is they'll look at your logo. And there'll be able to tell exactly what you do straight away without even looking at the rest of your website. So this is who you are, what you do. Such a top tip there. And so to have a nice logo, but also have a nice slogan, accompany slogan underneath as well. Okay guys, so the third and final option is a better bonus option for you to get your logo created. So I'm not really into designing or in already a graphic designer. I mean, I'm not a graphic designer, but sometimes you feel a corner given a guy. But if you don't want to try those options and you feel that you need a professional to do it. And then there are a few very good cost effective ways of getting your logo professionally made. I'm going to share that with you as a final bonus lesson. So I'm gonna go with this section quite quickly. But essentially all you need to do is you need to log onto a website called Euler Upwork.com, which is the one mass on my screen here. And so if you come in here, you essentially, you land on a page that looks a little bit more base. And the top end token logo can hit the enter button. You will then get pronounced with a few different options of Logo creators. So you can opt to have your own countries if you just want. For example, if you're in America or UK, you can opt to have freelancers or design agencies from your corner, your, your, your native country. And if you want to have a slugging more affordable solution, then just turn off your own country. Obviously if depending on where you are, because that way you'll get icon over log broader designers that will kind of come in and give you sort of unison some options. So I mean, in terms of, you know, you can select your hourly rate here, say, if your work into a fairly, you know, entry level budget, for example. And then he just slept that if if you think only $5 an hour and you can see this trap here is four over $4 thousand and throw it, throw up work. He's based in India. He's got a 100% feed back. Again, this trap here, $5 an hour zone. So this gives you a good idea of coined of angular the level that they're at. And you can also add in more fil, filters search terms in there. So it's very, very quick and easy. You can call have selected by job, job success or 90% and above. So these are the people that corner of completed their jobs and their kind of work via this platform to very, very high standard. So, you know, you've had neu now top ten of their jobs are completed to high, high standard. And so yeah, I mean, they do have a good load through some of the other websites. At work.com is people per hour. So similar soil fashion and just come in here and type in your logo, logo design. And that will then show you some of the economy goes on here. What they charge. And it works in a very similar fashion to your work. And the last one is a website called for EVA, FOR v double.com. And again, you can come in and type in Logo and select somebody that's very, very affordable. For example, there are these, these, these people here. Dan ligase is rated 4.9 out of five, is go over 100 thousand plus feedback. And, and his, his designs, you have three exclusive just logos even for 17 pound as roughly around $20, sell us really, really cheap. Um, and you can have a look at some, you know, some of his work in here as well and see what we'll call him. You know, he's he's capability is so it looks like he's done some pretty, pretty cool stuff in there and say yes, it's definitely lots of different options out there. And you know, how you plan these three methods of kind of covered a broad spectrum and they've given you a good Negin, confidence to go out there and say, yeah, this is what we want to create for my brand or, or, or, you know, you perhaps want to solve, you know, considers or dinner rebrand or looking economy, just moulding or tweaking your current existing logo. And so there's lots of really, really good options out there. So I hope that helps guys. I know less than one is taken, probably slogging along them, we would like, but I've tried to pack in as much as I can in therefore, yea, when IB is very valuable. So thanks very much and I'll see you in lesson number two.
3. Sourcing Professional FREE Images: Okay, so now that you've got your high-quality professional logo, we can now look at sourcing some amazing images for your new brand and your new Shopify website. So I'm now gonna show you guys how to get those images to get your website relook and really, really sharp. So take a little look at some of these websites here. So the first one that went in to take a look at is a website called place it.net. So this isn't an alto website. And through this you can create Absolutely lots and lots of different coins of mock-ups. So this is a bit of a hidden gem. And it says a really pretty good website that you can find and souls who are lots and lots of images, particularly if you're in the apparel and clothing market and business. They also do a lot of other things like mugs, iPads, phone covers, leggings is a big, big one on hand. So let me show you a quick example of one with them, hoodies, which is actually one of the, the Bruns away we're going to be creating in this particular course. So if you look at some of these images, they look absolutely fantastic. And you can change colors, upload a logo, and it gives you a really, really high-quality professional look about your website. So for example, if I, if I click on this image here, what can come in here and I can start uploading a logo. I can change the color of this video. So if I want to change it to, let's just say black for example, it will change black, blue, all swords in a pink, so on and so forth. So this is all your color section here. You can even create your own if you've got particular hex glow, if you're going for your ring, light brown color, you can even choose land there. You can add text on there. If you wanna put your website name on there so you don't want to put something like that on there and then move around here, make it smaller so you can put your brand's identity on there. You can put a logo on there, of course as well, getting changed the font. So there's lots and lots of choice of fonts in there as well. So I can upload a logo through here. You can crop it and resize it. And you can have something that looks like this. You can reposition the logo, heavy coding in there and then download it. Place it is a very, very affordable solution as well, so it's only around $15 a month, or you can save yourself 20% and subscribed for the year. But there's lots and lots of choice in here. There's so many designs. You can even do videos as well. So there's plenty of good choice in is that it's a bit of a hidden gem. If your intercom light, you know, Instagram, you can select those. And there's lots you can do in this website. So that's one of the first website. So you can take a little look at if you do as a particularly if you're in the apparel industry, you love so much choice there. And we can kind of spent hours and hours on there and have a lot of fun with it. So if you also look into source other images, so these are websites that have kind of bookmarked over, over the years. And there also can be a little bit tricky to find these ones, but this first one here is called an splash. So again, this is a completely free for commercial use website where, you know, you don't need to credit the the author. So you can use anything that you've lived through here, and this gives you a good choice of images in here. So that's the first website. So that endpoint I didn't there, mug for example. So you've got stuff like this in here. You'll have some people drinking tea Even if you were to, if you were assigning mugs, for example, and some, something like this might look quite cool. But yeah, I mean, you know, have a little look at where there's lots and lots of choice and there's some really, really good, high-quality professional images in splash. The next website isn't one could Pixabay. This also has lots of good free, high-quality images. And it works in a similar fashion to an splash waking column. Scroll through it and select an image of your choice. And this has been taken by a high-quality professional photographers, an echo in a fopen and 5 thousand by 3 thousand. And so it's very, very high quality, high resolution images in their room noise phones. Another website is one good pixels known. This will, this is another good one list as videos. Also in the, again, this is completely free to use instant download. And again, there's some really, really fantastic ones in here. So if you take a little look at this particular one here, you can say this is the highest standard and the high quality. You can get through these websites, which again or you know, take you free a lot to me, Danny, we need to create an account. You can just use them and start downloading them and utilize them high-quality professional images for your website so you don't need to go out and hire a photographer or a free nonsense to, to do that for you. You can just utilize good online websites to take advantage of. So, so that sort of concludes lesson two. So this is two saws or your high-quality professional images guys before we start building your website. And then once we've got all these images for your website and your brand, we can then store in looking at so familiarizing yourself with the Shopify dashboard, which I'll talk about next in lesson number three. So, so yeah, I'll see you in the next lesson.
4. Step-By-Step Account Setup & Shopify Overview: Okay, now that you've got your logo or fully designed guys, he can now install creating your Shopify account. So if you dive in with me here on the screen and I'll talk you step-by-step how to create your account and on Brune through the dashboard and all the bits across there. So if you follow me on, on here, so what you want to do is to search for Shopify and and you'll, you'll hear websites and into this. So what I want you to do is is to start off with your free trial. So enter in a e-mail address of your choice and hit start Free Trial. Then if just choose a password or recommend going for an alphanumeric, want at least eight characters long. And then what you need to do is add your store name in. So if you're creating, let's say when the parallel clothing shop, for example, you really want to add in something that's going to be SEO friendly and create, and create something that's going to target the key words that people might look for to find your brand. So for example, if you're, if you're selling you know, home-based plans or, or in a desktop plans for example, then you really want to type in there. So I mean like, you know, desktop plans for you, for example, as, as a very, very quick example. For this one, we're going to be creating an apparel wear, as I mentioned earlier. So I'm just gonna go ahead and type that in here. So I says can be name of the store that we're creating subcommittee and hit create store. So Shopify is just going to do its thing now and just start sort of initializing and creating the store, which let you take a few seconds. You'll then come into a screen, which will essentially be your startup screen. And now look a little bit like this. So just before we sort of dug into the dashboard, you just need to enter in some quick information. And this is primarily for Shopify Boys Own kind of marketing purposes ready, you can skip it if you wish. Ordinary law into help companies, I would stop there and take a few seconds to fill in. So so I'm just gonna put in a, I'm just playing around for the moment. Of course you'll be putting in some way like, you know, I'm not saying products yet. So always occur revenue. If you're starting out new as a brand new shop, then log k, this will be just getting started. The industry that you're operating in for this purpose is going to be clothing. Just choose whichever one is running for yourself. If you don't know, we haven't decided to slit the bottom option there. Once you've done this option, majority and Thomas, you can ignore this because it's primarily for B2B customers business to business or agencies. So I'll just hit next year. You'll then be presented with a screen to fill out some information. Say if you'd fill out all your information here, which I'm gonna go and do now. And then just hit Enter Monte store. Once you've done that, you now be presented with a dashboard and welcome screen in the solid Shopify. And it'll look something a little bit like this. If you are VAT registered and you're swapping over to Shopify, then you can enter that here. And you'll come to a fairly self-explanatory screen making just enter some quick my information. Okay, so once you've entered your by information guys, just go ahead and select a plan of your choice. Now Shopify gives you a3 is central plans and they increase in price. So the basic Shopify plan starts at $29. And this gives you the ability to essentially starts selling your products, trade this store. It doesn't give you some of the basic terms, like the gift options and so on. But it does give you majority of what you need to create a one attractive selling install. The fees do calm down as you go higher up in the packages. But which has all the information is here log. So if you sell an auditorium, Shopify keeps 2.2% of the order plus 20 patent pens or it could be sent to anywhere else you are in the world. Illustrated the hierarchy, the package he goes and lower this becomes, but I do make more money on the month wifi. So just go ahead and choose whichever one is most suitable for you for this particular cause, I'm gonna go ahead and choose the basic Shopify plan. You'll then be presented with this screen where you can choose how much you'd like to pay in how you'd like to pay, whether you'd like to go for a yearly option and save some, you know, some amount There you go for two years or three. So again, I'm gonna go for just the the 30-day option for the for this purpose and go ahead and purchase that. So so I'm just going to feel the same guys and I'll be with you in a moment. So once you've selected the revenue plan, which best suits you guys, then just go ahead and hit star plan. So Shopify won't charge you anything until it's the end of your plan. So whether this is 14 days, 30 day, or a three month free trial, then you can actually start earning revenue from your Shopify store and nicely pay you the, the company any money at all, which is, which is great. So do go ahead and take advantage of that mean they currently are doing a massive three month free trial. And again, as have you won't get charged if you went ahead and signed up today or tomorrow, for example, for a further three months. So I'm going to create a product here. So I'm going to add a product and this will just make it easier to see your dashboard inside here. So I'm just gonna go ahead and create a product. So let's call it a warrant. Or did sweat top. And what you really want to do is when you create these and I'll talk a little bit more about this as we progress through the course, you really wanna you add in as many keyword ideas in here like SEO friendly as much as possible because this will help your. Product and store rank higher in search engines such as Google. So if you're unsure which keywords to talk in, a little bit unfamiliar with key SEO and keyword research. So SEO is search engine optimization and it helps potential customers to discover your products and all store. So you really want to take advantage of, you know, ensuring that your keywords or search engine friendly and your products are definitely going to rank high in Google because essentially you can generate free revenue that way and not need to spend any money on marketing. Because your shop and your products will rank high opinion in the national natural Serbs inside Google. So I've been, I've actually done a whole course on keyword research and using a few free tools and softwares. So do go ahead and have a little look at that. If you're unfamiliar with keyword research. And just came back here. So you can just put in a short description. I went to a full one for three so for this purpose but I'll just tell, you know, full sleeved, void or did sweat top than style. Looks grey on both women and men. So what I've done is I've tried to create these keywords in here, of urban in there in case and research and for urban hooded sweat top alloyed users when they go through the buying cycle. So they'll go through luck, a Boeing so-called online. So they might start their search quite high in the funnel. And they might be searching for them or have an interest in purchasing, you know, Hudud top For example, let's say my beginning coming close to wintertime and they're just interested in purchasing did top. So they might store their generic search online with something like, you know, hoodies or, or her did top. They might lower, you know, having a little look around and go, well, actually a quad like him to boil a, a white or did top. So you'll acquire lock an urban log. So they might search for something, you know why? Hooded urban top. So this greater aunties keywords in here, you can also make them bold. And you can also add in images in here. Can even I didn't know HTML code. And also it's if you're familiar with coding. But we're not going to talk about that. This is a code list calls, so there's no coding knowledge required. So we're not gonna touch the code side of things. And I mean, I would recommend not adding in your images in here. So I would actually recommend adding them in here. Or you can do it there. But just in here, you know, if you add them in here, then your shop would look a lot more a lot more professional. So I'm just gonna go ahead and add in monetary images in there. Okay, so that's loaded in them. We can see that we've got our multiple media files in here. And you can also add in YouTube videos and other multimedia story imagery in here. So just continue to scroll down, guys. And so the price and compare app prize. So here is where you essentially add in a discounted price. So if your product is discounted or if you want to show, you know, omit Lucky was XML. Now this amount, this is why you do the compare a price. So you essentially put in your RAM the full price here. So let's say it's 3030 pounds and I'm gonna show it as 20 pounds. Then it will, it will share it as original price theory. Now 20 with ten pound off. So you put in your main price in there. The cost per item is what the actual product costs. Yea. So you're of course have a accosting involved through your, your, your patient in cost. So this is a nice little feature that shutter foils that age. So you can keep calculated the exact amount of profit that your Shopify store is bringing in for you. So let's just say this item. You're signing it at 20 pound on a discount cost you actually ten pounds. So you making ten pound per, per order. So yeah, the end of the month when you look at yourself TO torture figures, you can, you know, if you, if you've sold a 100 of these, you can say, well, I've made XML or profit from the White. Who did hoodie. In here you add in your skew, which is stock keeping unit, as it says nano, sorry, this is a very sort of common e-commerce terminology. You might see or when you're shopping around USE skew ID. And that's essentially just them on a barcode to allow shopkeepers to 6pm. Organization of wars sunning and what isn't and most in stock, Moscow stock. Your supply will also have skew codes. And they might give you a skew code and you can enter that in there. So we'll just put in any, anything random in there. They also give you a barcode option that you can pop in there as well. I definitely recommend tracking quantity said definitely have this ticked. Usually I'd recommend how this unchecked because you don't really want to sound when you our stock quantity, definitely feel that since if you've got a quantity of 50 items available than pop dying because you'll get emailed and you'll get notified from your Shopify store saying, you know, your stock is running low. And they'll kind of give you a warning for the US, you can get more stocking because the last thing you wanna do is with your store is Biao stop. Just a little top tip here. And if you already know one stock or, you know, there's something that goes wrong with your inventory or your supplier. You got problems that the warehouse or orders something that's happened. Men, you've got problems. Then top tip here is, is to really, really dropped down your advertising. So if you are advertising or you're spending money on Facebook, cancel Google Shopping, or Google ads, for example, then just drop your budgets were right down to almost like minimal selves. It is as if you're running low across the board. Or if you've got so no items around stock, that's fine. Just don't are obviously promote those and save your money. The amount of times where I've seen retailers that are kind of promoting an item. When you click on it on, on Google for example, Net probably paid like a couple of dollars for that click Egon in he says our stock ELA, okay? And then you just bounce off and you go to a competitor. So that's just a little tick there to ensure that if you do ever again low or new stock, obviously always maintain a good level of stock. But if you do ever again login, I do definitely pause any form of advertising that you've got. So the shifting in the way again, the city employees, if you've got a physical product or a digital product, and you can put the weight in pounds, says kilograms or grams. So I'm just gonna make up some the head. I'm just gonna say my hooded top weighs 250 grams, for example. Customers information. So just select the country of origin. So a lot of, you know a lot your goods more income from China, for example. If you have got them in stock when, you know where your resident country is, then just select by, you know, being, you know, UK, US, so on and so forth. Harmonized System code is if you've got a DEM, is formed border force and call a border control say, and if you view yourself, you know, importing and bringing items in from less essay abroad like China, for example, is very, very popular. And then sometimes a require an extra layer of, of identification to classify a promoter two so gets over from boarders because everything that's ordered from overseas particular, particularly kind of eastern countries, China, Japan, so on. And they do usually requires some extra form of, of checks, but your supplier will help you with this. So this is pretty useful life. You'd drop shipping and we're gonna be talking about this in, later on in the course. So when, so continue on, safe if in products has very in, so this is a good one here. So if you've got like different colors or sizes, so again, particularly good for apparel and clothing stores. Yeah, you might have, you know, something completely different. Nurses, are you selling USB flash drives for example, you might have one nancy Don't, 32 gig, 64 gig, 246 gig. This is where you can play in size and fit it in there. For, for this purpose, I'm just gonna put in color and I'm just gonna do White and do black. Press comma after this. So vital, vital IP in green and then a comma. So this is like a comma separated field. Manova, you know, added a new one on there. So what black, green, and pink, it also hit the Enter key as well. And that will create a new option for you in here. And you can then actually select different prices and quantities and also the skew as well based on that particular item. Because Very good, so sharp gives you Noyce amount of detail here. So this is a black hoodie cost you a little bit more in unnecessary as 25-pound and the rest of 20. And you've got ten of these in stock. And you've got 20 of these. And of the pink as well. See, you can't go across egos. And I'd separate barcode. You can delete them from here if p with them. And of course you can add in more through here as well. So this is kind of how the listing or lock in a search engine such as Google. And quite often this section does get missed and coal or people will just get excited landing there. So first products on there. They were worried too much about this section, that this section is actually very, very important. Again, as mentioned earlier, this can help you get sales for free through, potentially through and through a search engine. So you do want to go ahead and hit edit SEO, and this is your RAM meta title description. And this is where you want to put in all your keyword rich keywords. So you don't want to spam it. You've got this. Shop voids are quite helpful. It is talent and you'd go 70 characters as a maximum to fit in there. And I do recommend that you utilize the full Sandy characters if you can. But just near the top tip here, your most important keywords when Google looks at a product or a listing or a search result, they do give higher priority to the first, you know, five or six key words that are on your meadow, tighter tags and description, they will give more priority to this orange. So again, don't spam it. Men don't repeat key words that do fit in something that's a natural fit for that product. And do try to include your relevant keywords. So for example, like we said earlier, to wore hooded swept hopes that somebody is searching that online. You know, hopefully that would give it a potential to him to get ranked. And again, you know, shopper foil will add it in as the, as the URL. You can change the slug in here and, and, and change or to, you know, whenever you like, belonging is gonna go ahead and tweet this and untoward urban in there. So why you hooded and sweat top? Ideal for both women and men. And then you could do something like sail. Now, owned. I guess I should use a full 70 characters, are not quite sure. All of this would fit into a Google syrup here, searching didn't results page. Normally I'd probably say is probably about this much of harmonised. But, but to go ahead and pop that in there. And then you wanna do something a little bit sooner in here and type in something. Discriminated digits will pull the description from this section here. And you can go ahead and copy and paste this and net. And often Google will display this as bold. Say helps your listing to stand out as another top tip there. I'm just gonna go ahead and put urban in here as well. This section here on the right guys is also really, really important and he can do recommend to fill this in as well. So product type, we can go ahead and play near hoodie. So I'm just gonna add that in there. The vendor is going to be us. So collections is almost like when the best thing to show, the collections probably show you an example. So I'm just gonna show you an example of collections. And there is an example. So I'm just going to go into Jimmy shock.com and show you what their collections that line. So if I go ahead and hover over men Zia, and you can see here it says shopped by collection. And this is a different story of collections. They've got their arrival critical graphic and so on. So if I clicked on seamless, for example, this is Jimmy shocks, seamless connection. So it is just a very nice way to categorize your store, make a lot more organized. And also when users are actually shopping online, they might get familiarized with a certain type of collection or a certain style of clothing or or, you know, when when pointed that you're selling them, I get familiar and they might say, well, I always, I always go for, you know, chalks, seamless selection or collection, you know, so they might get familiar nine is a good way of kind of building brand and customer loyalty as well. So we're just going to hop back into, into ours and we're gonna create a collection. And then I'm going to create the core, this collection, urban. And just add in a tag a which says urban as well. And as we go through our store and as we build it up and added more items, then we can create more collections on, on here. And that's your first product added. So I'm just gonna go ahead and hit Save here. Okay, so that's actually now being created. And the reason why we've done it is So once we're going through the dashboard, which all go through with you in a moment. There's just making a lot more easy to sort of see what's going on. And it helps you get familiarized with them with some of the dashboard as well.
5. Shopify Dashboard Explained Step-By-Step: Okay, so in lesson four then guys, we're going to talk a bit about the Shopify dashboard. And I'm gonna get you familiarized with some of the main features and the dashboard options inside here. So what I have done is I've created a few test products and a few test orders just to make it a little bit easier for you to understand them, visualize the powerful features and options inside deep on this platform. So if you have a look on my screen here, so I'm, I'm logged back in here on the inside, on the Home screen, on the left here. So again, this kind of shows you just a very quick overview of what's been done. So as, as we saw in the, in the previous lesson, we've created one product. So I'm gonna go ahead here on the left hand and click on orders. So in this section you can essentially create new orders for the top right button here. So you can actually create orders through shopper following if you're taking the in-order outside of the platform. So if you're actually selling items, you know, outside of, you know, from here and you can actually create an order through here. And I'm just going to read quickly, go ahead and shade that whilst I'm on here. So all you do is you just simply click on Create Order. You'll then see a screen like this and then all you do is you just browse your product. You can either search or hit the browse button, whatever's easier for you. And this is where that collections, et cetera, comes handy and also the tags as well that I showed you previously. But again, you know, if you're searching for some things, have somebody said You never customer said all I've looked on your website and I really liked that white who did urban her dy then Committee and aka typing no white. Who did. And you can see here shrub providers found it straight away and that will filter through all the given variants and options inside your shop and falling there. So it's quite clever. So what can solve? Select this if I was to select that, it automatically tick all of the variants and their safety. If the customer said we're already logged here in the green color, for example, I just untick these, lead the green option in there. And you can see there's 20 install OK. And then you just hit Add to order bus then last now being populated here so you can see them the audit top in green for example. You can also add notes in here. So the customer says, well, could you leave it on the porch or leave in the back garden or some kind of special delivery instruction. You can add these here to make a little bit easier for you. You can also add tags. Now tanks are very, very useful and I definitely recommend they create them and add them. Because you can late to filter this inside Shopify and it just makes your life a lot more easier. So, you know, you can, you can mark things as, as a trend reviews. We can create your own in here and then again filter later. So if, if, if it is for just requires some form of Attention is one of added previously. In here. You can pawn their customer needs to pay before shipping, for example. So let's say that, you know, it's just like an order for a friend or family member. You know, you can you can do it that way. And then just essentially market is pending or you can save it as a draft order. So just before we go ahead and mark is pending guys, you just want to assign that to a new customer or an existing customer. So you simply just come up here on the right and then just creating a new customer. Or obviously if you've got existing customers, then you'll see a small list here. So create a new customer and just simply type in, type in their first and last name. So we'll just do a random name here, say Sarah James, for example. Sarah Jones at gmail.com. And optimum to marketing here, you know, if they're VAT tax exempt, you can fill it in there and a few more bits of information. And I do recommend and suggest that you capture as much information as possible. Of course, this will this should be prefilled if they've made an order through the website. So you'll just go in order populated in here. If obviously you're creating the order yourself with the customer over the phone, for example, then do definitely get the phone number. And the rest of the information. This is because you want to remark it to them later. And that might be via email, via text messaging, which you are going to cover off in the, in the marketing as we come through the course. So I'm just gonna go ahead and save that. So that's now been appended to Sarah Jones, our test customer, and order. And you can then email the invoice two. So just go ahead and click that. And you can just drop in a quickly or line here. And so this here represents an auto name, so that basically means an invoice. And then this little tag means that that's gonna give the customer's name in there. And you can just put something in there of your choice, like Coursera leaves falling and invoice for your new order best, and then just signed it off. For example, I would suggest to you when you create templates. And that can be done in the notifications section. And we'll go over that shortly as well as we progress. And you can also change the from in there as well, which is really handy. So you can, you know, if it's a support request, you can send that in there. We'll Sunday as your brand name. And you can add the anti-Soviet. So it gives you a lot of good options and that you don't even need a back carbon copy it to yourself. Just quickly review the male half period that, you know, you can just send send across the notification. So, so, so, so that that will get mountain There are then sort of in a market is pending. And but what we're also going to do is just before we do that, we are going to add a tag here. And we're going to add a tag called requires attentions as one of creative before. And what you do is to do that you can just simply type in here. So I'll just call this as a tension for this, for this demonstration beds in here under tension. So it's created our tag in there, and I'll add it into a Type section and then mark in spending. You can also leave a comment in here. So if a customer clones in speaks to a different member of staff, you can add a comment, leave a comment in there and you can have a trail history of the customers comments, requests, suggestions, so on and so forth. So really, really powerful. And I definitely recommend utilizing all the features and functions in here. So let's just go ahead and mobilize pending and create the order. So that's now been done and that's been appended. So if I flip back here to orders, so we can see just how a test orders here, but the most recent one here as Sarah Jones. So that's currently pending Of course, because obviously Will awaiting payments. So if somebody else looked at the store and said, well, why is this, why is this all pending? And they can click on this order. Go in there, and they can see from the note section that term it needs it needs to be paid for. And they can also, a really handy feature is we just go back this section, these here you can quickly see quick notes there as well. So because we need to pay, say if that is missing in there, then they can click on it. And that's really, really useful. So in terms of the tanks and the filtering. So if I was looking at items in our recorded tensions or just go in there and just type in attention. And then Shopify automatically filters it boy, whatever it can find in here. And then it's malt this one here, which is the John Doe. So if I just go back, click on this one. Let's just add, requires attention then here, save, not quite sure why didn't save previously? Let's just try that again. Let's go. Bucket should be on there now, there we go. So that sour or dissection, you can also come in here and you can fulfill orders. So these occur any marketers unfulfilled so you can mark them as being fulfilled. And you can also archive orders at more tanks and measured you wish. And there's a lot of powerful things you can do in here. This is essentially the whole field, two sections, if you want to filter orders by less is a kind of You know, paid. So they should come up as no orders as just one audience We won't want order is paid. So this is very, very useful and handy. And more, more from con la dates if you wanted to do last 30 days, hit done. And you can kind of reset thing, view things in certain ways. It's essentially a mini dashboard that you can sort and filter to your heart's content. Really, there's a lot of information in there. And we can even do it by risk level of orders. Orders that are high risk. This is kind of the ones that term, you know, Shopify believes. And the other corner risky say could be potentially for all glued orders. So that's actually a really, really good, well actually there's a bit of a top tip, hey guys. So that is something that you do want to do is go through and evaluate your high risk orders. And you can call it a filter that boy, you know, again, the Tolman day here in go through sort of a high and have a look and money Lee then review those orders to make sure that, you know, shipping our goods and items that are high risk. So if you've got, you know, two or three high risk orders in there, you might want to actually try and contact those customers, you know, via phone or email and just ensure they are legitimate customers because this does happen in the Communist world. Unfortunately, you do get customers. I do try to take advantage of the system or they will talk to, you know, put a bit of a fast one. And as we say here, I have been trying get MBA, an item sent out to them, you know, off off, off somebody else's card. So so that's a really, really good way to actually ascertain whether or not a costume areas higher-risk customer or or not. So say Yes. So do you have in I won't go through every single filter, you know when, but do have a little play around with them. I think you get the idea of this section. And the important moms, lots and lots of things in this particular order section. It also obviously give you on the, on the, on the left, it also give you a list of orders are on there. And you know, when you as you start to grow your business and you start January orders in here, it's just good practice to come in here in the morning and just saw check your order. Let's see if there's anything that requires my neural attention in there. So abundant Checkout. So this is another good section that I highly recommend. And, and it's this essentially what this section towers you is, whether somebody has come onto the website. So they found you. So they might have search for, you know, why you hoodies online for example. They found you, they've come onto your website, they've clicked on an item, y, hoodie example, order, product. They've gone through the whole process of checking out, but they're not quite checked out and they've abandoned the checkout process. So again, this is really already Coleman in the Communist world and online and it does happen. You will experience this. And this section really allows you to ensure there's nothing wrong with your orders and there's nothing coming. Drastically wrong, like you haven't put the royal soldiers in there or there's something not quite correct with the orders. If you see one particular order or product that keeps getting higher abandonment rates, you might wanna check that out and go all, let's have a little look into this and let's see what's going on with there. And I've got another top tip for you here. And this is a software that I highly, highly recommend IS another hidden gem. And this software is called Hot Jar. Says, hey HOT JAR.com. So hot draw is a fantastic heat mapping and tracking software. This will complement your Shopify store beautifully because this essentially tells you where customers are going on, on your website. You know, whether they are abandoning their room checkout process. And you can really see and visualize what your customers are doing. So essentially hard drive, you know, it records your customers so you can see exactly what they're doing on your website, how they're interacting with their what their liking, what they're not loyal King. And I believe you can you can try it for free. So it does have a free trial period on there and you can capture up to, I believe 20. And yeah, if he I mean, for example, if you went for the basic packaged software and it gives, it actually gives you 2 thousand page views per day, completely free. I mean, I personally use the paid version and it's one of the, the best softwares I've ever used in a hands down. Because it'll give you a lot of good data and visualization of how people are interacting with your shop, where you might be going wrong, save your game hard, high bounce rates, you know, shopping, hot job, we'll call it, visualize that for you and show you what your customers are actually doing on your store. So this is just a nice, nice little top tip there for you guys. I'm just going to flip back to the store and move on to the products section. So you can see here where we've created one of our products from earlier. So we can see that in total inner inventory, we've got 87 of those four variants. You know that the red, black, green, and pink slots in the inverters, 87 of those and there. And as you sort of create new products that will just get populated inside there. And you can always go ahead and just click here in the top right corner and add in a new product from here on the right-hand side. And just follow the process that I showed you earlier on creating your room, your product. So and if you click on this little icon, you can preview that on the front-end and see how it looks on the front end. And that's currently how it looks in the existing theme. But I'm going to show you that I'm going to walk through the theme, customization and how to get your shop looking really, really professional. And so that's gonna be called a Vin in the upcoming lessons. So inventory, as mentioned, this is kind of all your products or you've gone there. And, and you know, as I sort of caught FM many Sunday Idea, yeah, you definitely want to sort of, you know, pour some of these. If, if, if something, you know, if you get problems with the install, you can kind of, you know, edit these. Kind of Lloyd stop selling them, you know, what? Goes out of stock. Can transfer the order. You can edit the variance on the, on here. And you can do it. You know, a lot of things in this section, most of is self-explanatory, but Council of edit bits, you know, delete items, transfer them, and so on and so forth. Purchase orders is if you want to create a purchase order to lock it says day in a truck and receive your inventory orders from sparser. This is more B-to-B business to business. So this is kind of if you want to contact and speak to other retailers or suppliers and inventory transfers. So you probably won't be using this to start off with, but this is if you want to transfer an order to another shop or voice stall, get it transferred that way, and you want to add in another location. So if you've got multiple stores and outlets, different Shopify store, and he can use this connection. So this is what we talked a little bit about earlier and creating those are all important collections. So this is why you do this. Gift cards. Now gift cards or in the in this plan, which is the current $29 plan is not unfortunately available. However, in the next one up in the middle package, the shopper foil package that is available. So if you are on this form, then you can create gift cards or do recommend those. But you can't sort of click on there. And, you know, hit an option to sell gift, God's. So we can edit this, but I won't go through this at the second. Costumers, Yes, so this is kind of where you can edit, view and add customers. So we've talked about this a moment ago. You can see retaining customers, abundant checkout. This section heads on that you want to concentrate on. And this is one that gives you really good information. So returning means either customers into loyal customers. So these are customers are purchased and returned back and bought again so that your loyal customers, so you might want to sort of select those and then target them. So you might want to look at those and to get their information and then by market to them separately. For example, through Mail Chimp or another email software program because pneumonia with either all our loyal customers, we've got Brian, your frond, let's talk it those as vivid top tip here. You know, you can download that information. Economy. And I said send him an email blast. They're abundant Checkout. So this is, you know, like we sort of mentioned earlier, it is the customers. I've kind of gone through the process and then decided not to buy. And they've, you know, unfortunately abundant the car. So you do want to keep an eye on oil NUS and make sure that it's not the same people that continuously do that because it might be the, for example, could be held to leave, for example, or could have a visual impairment with their eyesight, could be anything really. And it might be a good way to con la reach out to them and say, Hey, Mr. Jones, you know, I noticed that they had been on our website in a few times and, you know, a quote check tower just wondered if I could personally help you to boil your boyhood ID top. So it's a great way of coin of building Report customers building loyalty. And just call it game, understanding who they are, what they do more thereafter. And sometimes you'll find when you do pick up the phone or you do contact the customer personally, they're really, really grateful. You'll find that they might purchase something, become a loyal long-term customer. So that's a great way of sort of building your shop and building your store in scaling up. So email subscribers, These are the ones that kind of tick the box when they place, nor did say that they're happy to be subscribed to receive email marketing from you. And you can hope that in with some of the email apps, which we'll go over when we come to that section. And this is essentially the customers from this, from this particular country. So depending on whether you're rim, you know, it's a vendor based in a same country or whether you're going for international. Ideally you want economy-wide see customers in here from your own cotton native country. So that's corner away, I would recommend to start with, if you can say if you're, for example, in the UK talking UK two-star with us, target there and so on and so forth. So moving on to the analytics section than guys. So this is a super, super powerful section. And this is what your metrics and your RAM criteria is that your customers are being doing on your site has a really, really powerful section or definitely recommend you spend, spend a lot time on here. So you can filter this boy today. Generally, most people look at it last day, days. But you can sort of change this if, if, for example, your, you know, you've got promotion going on. Or if there's some marketing that you're doing and you wanna see it for a particular day or times. You can filter that here in the top left. Let's just flip it back to today. Sometimes it does take a little bit time to populate, so don't be too worried if you can't see the data from entering sites. All of sudden you get a bit worried. It was often Edison Thomas taken low bedtime to update that. And, but as you can see, this is just like the test orders that we've put in here. So you can see how much you've. Made what you'll returning customer ratings or your customer loyalty, total number of orders, the average order value. So this is actually a really, really important graph here. Because excuse me, that the key to a good and successful online business is to always be trying to increase your average order value. Depend entirely on what you're selling and you know what your brand is, whether you are selling apparel, whether you're selling hardware, software. And this really just depend, but you always want to try and aim to get a good average order value of whatever that might be. But you want to ensure that battle code stays consistent. And the average order value doesn't commonly have a dips and you might see it kinda seasonal dip in less essay. Christmas, you know, Christmas, New Year's autonomy where due to seasonality, e-commerce stores or see a slight dip, again depending on what you're summing. So I do keep an eye on that and make sure that you've got that check there. So and this will all change depending on the time period that you've, you've set. And so on MemStore conversion rate. This is another really important metric and the conversion rate d. So the average conversion rate for e-commerce across the board is around three to 5%. So essentially, out of all the people are calling your website. So it's going to sound really, really low, but trust me, it's not, it's quite a few. If you've got a 5% conversion rate, that's actually a very healthy and conversion rate. If you're getting anything above 5%, then you are, you know, towards a top tier. So, you know, ninety-five percent of people that will visit your store won't purchase as hot as that might sound to kind of. And here it is, the unfortunate truth. And you know what, I've been doing this for a very, very long time or you looking at industry, starts dashboards, categories across the board. And I mean workstream is really, really good for that. Must be of a top tip there. So if you do search word stream, e-commerce, conversion rates and SF law that you give to get called a industry data. And you'll see con Lloyd, you know whether you are on par with where you should be in terms of the industry. If you can go for Aquino around, around us or 5% more than you're doing really, really well. And of course, it depends on your marketing and how good your advertising and marketing is. You know, whether you have got a good loyalty, how good your marketing, for example, is on social media, you know, when you, whether you've gotten, you know, microwave influences and so on and so forth. So it depends on a whole host of variables. How good your SEO is, how tog did your marketing is. Caught it, how much you're working on that side of it. But essentially the better your marketing is. The higher your on store conversion rate should be. And so that's something to bear in mind. So that will give you good indications of your conversion rate is less than 1% or 1%. And under then you need to have a little look at that and kind of say, well, are we doing the wrong things, or we use or promoting our products in the royal way, do we need to relook at our clinic website is already problems on this and go back to your Hot Jar. Assess that lucky Hot Jar, looking at analytics and kind of way a way that all up through there. Reports, you can say self custom reports here. You can go through reports and send them yourself when reminders and you can kind of add that all in there. So he gets all VE emailed reports, you know, what to say and behavior on certain timeframe, you know, with, you know, you might want to send to, you know, if you're committed, rain falls between 1%, then you can kind of set them all in their lawyer view. You probably won't be using this section that merge Bay shows you kind of how many customers on your website right now, today's totals, and it gives you a very, very quick overview of who your customers are, where, you know where they're coming from, and so on and so forth. So marketing, big, big section, as I mentioned, really, really super important. And this will be the key to the success of your brand and your business on trapezoid. So I'm gonna be talking a lot about this section. And I'm not really going to go over and now because I'm then dedicate a whole lesson just to this section. And I'm gonna show you some of the most powerful ways that you can utilize the marketing section and get sales for your stall. So discounts, this is where you create discount codes. This is really powerful sectional, highly recommend this because it works really, really well for e-commerce. Um, so a lot of customers or discount and offer lead. This is just human nature. So I definitely recommend discount codes 50% off. For example, India is a 50% off on the entire order. And you can just very easily create this on here. You know, you can target specific groups of customers. You know, you can create groups in there. So you might be wondering who you might be doing a special promo to a same group of customers through an email blast, go head and you can actually create that in there to get out to customers of abundant Checkout. So you remember, just go back to the to a moment ago we're talking about customers abandoning or you might be, you know, customers are loyal. You might want to say to him, you know, what, your loyalty in over his head 50% off. So it's a great way to when to get them to do that. You create your dates here and then just basically saved the discount and that's been saved. And we can do, we can blast together those customers through their says And in the top tip there. So apps, this is again, this kind of fits in quite nicely with the marketing, so they compliment each other quite well. And again, I'm going to talk about this in a separate lesson as we progress through the course because it's a big section. I think it deserves a whole lesson on its own. And so that's kind of like a very quick overview of the dashboard is a very powerful dashboard is fairly simplistic. And there's a lot of powerful things and nag you hope that gives you a good flavor for the power of n, kind of familiar to familiarize yourself with it. And I will now go through some of the sections that we've talked about. And, and also show you, you know, murals are gonna start creating his door and changing your theme and modifying it as well. So I hope that was helpful guys and thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next lesson.
6. Choosing Your Shopify Theme Free vs Paid: Okay guys, so welcome back to the next lesson and the next session we're going to start looking at some things which are going to be both free and paid, and then move on to some of the marketing and the apps thereafter. So what I'd like you to do is, is to come down here and click on your online store. You then click on things. So at the moment, we've currently got the default Shopify theme installed, which looks just a little bit like this. If you just come across saying click on this icon. Now I'll open up what the current theme looks like in the front-end and how your shop will look like two visitors. So this is common, the basic standard layout and troppo icon live as these edges to help you visualize what you still can look like. So ideally, you don't really want today for this and you want to go for something like a more of a professional theme. And essentially there's two options for shopper boy, so there's free things and there's also paintings. Now I'm gonna show you both of them for this particular demonstration and this store we're getting is a free theme and our SRE, the good ones. And the reason why I'm gonna show you these and Bernier, just in case you're on a tight budget where you're just starting off your rep brand and you want to keep your costs as low as possible. And that is something I do recommend. So let's just start with some of the paid ones. So there's multiple ways of getting a theme installed for shopper voice. So you can either purchase stem directly from shorter foreign term themes like Shopify.com where we're on at the moment and explore the various or themes. You can do a boy collections or you can do by industry. So for example, if this was myself and I was looking for a paid theme for the when apparel brand that we are currently designing. Outcome of, hey, going to the industries engaged to clothing and fashion. All Josephus announced for yourself, let's say you employ food and drink or something on that type of thing, on food and drink and Nair. If it's fashion and beauty, again, you can come in here and just find health and beauty. So there's all kinds of options and air that the effect is self-explanatory. So let's go for the paid ones. And what you can do is if you're selling a single product, which is ideal for things like, you know, drop shipping, etc. Than something like this one could make more B, a suitable and an ideal one. And this particular theme gives you three different options, which is CSS3 stalled included. So you go bloom, which looks a little bit like this, and you go fashion. And then you've got books. So in short for his quote, good with ideal training, good, guestimate that what type of one's are quite popular. So you can actually view the demo area. Is this. So you've got big hair EM image. You've got your menu here and your logo in the top left corner along they're caught and some social media and search options there. So it's essentially a very, very clean, minimalist theme. So view if you're maintaining, promoting one product again, this is ideal for companies such as drop shipping. And they've got that one I'm Canadian product that they are promoting, then this isn't an ideal kind of theme for you. And don't forget that it does cost I believe it was a $160. I think it was yes, a $160. So it's not the cheapest. And and, you know, so, so you might want to have a good look through and go through them. There's obviously a lot of others on that. So these are some of the newer ones that have been kind of added on Naked also search boy in a grid. And the ones that column grid system in that why it is called essentially it's full width. So that will cover the whole page side-to-side. And some of these upper eco. So O'Shea, this one which is boiler stream line. So you can go again, it's got three stars just call Lux. And then how AEP, which looks pretty calls less system view the demo map. So again, got annoyed. Big hero image renewals like good say a quick scrolling gallery. Ideal for clothes. You then got this overlapping kind of images, you know, just dropped. So, you know, again or this would live a really cool for something like Monte stored on, Definitely go for something like this. And they've got like a little gallery here. So looks quite, quite kind of head. They've got videos built in there. So this is a really, really cool and, you know, store. You can also view on mobile. So what it looks like on mobile, which is very, very important because mobile search has now overtaken desktop search. Say more people use a mobile phone than a desktop device now says, that's Kitab. Look at that as well and make sure you're happy with it. And you so browsed around and you've solved, played around with them, you're happy. Yet there's kinda desert I'm looking for. So I don't get to have a good look at that. So let's just go back. So that said if you go meet, this really does come down to your own taste. And I mean, it is really up to yourself to have a good look through them. There's no right or wrong theme and search and it really does depend, you know, what you're, what you're looking for and you know what you're after. Or generally any any don't have to as while going to you don't have to select the ones that, for example, if I'm selling apparel or clothing, I don't have to pick an apparel or clothing fashion theme, although it does make life easier. So you might come on here and you might just, just be browsing around. And let's say that you are in need than a jewelry and accessories sexually and you come on there and you go, Well, actually, I haven't looked at this one called context. And it looks absolutely fantastic. You know, it's this depth. This is definitely a style that was after and this column thing. So don't, don't be afraid to choose a different theme. But just, just remember him bear in mind that it can make life a little bit easier to go for the, you know, the style that you're often. Because generally they tend to know that this is what looks good on a clothing store. So this one again broadcasts is a pretty good ones, quite clean. And I do definitely recommend going for something fairly clean because that is the way that trend is going forward. In terms of e-commerce. You really want to go for something that's very clean, clinical. And people don't really like clutter anymore. They liked to go. They like things are very easy on the eyes. And you know, very minimalist is what we call a get. It just helps to sell the product. There's no first and there's no busy-ness dot gets in the way. And so that's something just a little top tip that I do recommend to try and go for something already clean. I mean, this looks fantastic and it's all ideal. Let's just have a product page as well. So yeah, you know, it can open colonialism in here and have a little look at the, the product. They've got loads and loads of images in there. You know, you can do sort of noise shrub close ups. So you want to remember if you are choosing something like this, you want to ensure that the images that you're using or high-quality professional images at high res. Because when people do do this, large high-quality images are ready to sell your product. And so I'm glasses flipped battling noise to the free themes. So I'm just going to show you some of the free themes. So let's just delete some of these and go back here. So you just simply click on free. So now these are the free themes. As early in the actual Shopify store, there's a lean knowing free things and in my opinion, the best to our debut and boundless. So these two are probably the best ones are caught like boundless. And this is the one that we're gonna go form, we're gonna install and I'm going to build my store in our hair in front of you with yourself and get this underway very, very shortly. Just before we deal, I'm gonna show you some other options and some other things that you can do. See you not just bound by using themes from Shopify. There are other avenues and other sources that you can use and I'll show you those now. So if you search for something like theme forest and then do Shopify. So this is another essentially online marketplace and where you can purchase rate already good, high-quality themes. And what you want to do is so shall befall is not restricted to using their own platform to use themes. Although I do recommend that. I mean, yes, they might be, you know, 30, $40, more expensive, however, you will get full support and with them through their own shop avoid developers. You also get support with these developers that have these themes here and beiges. You might feel a little bit more safer hands. You're getting it straight through. Shorter fois. This is another option for you that might be slightly more affordable if you don't wanna go down the very expensive route or paying a 600000, $180 for RAM for a theme. So what you essentially do is you want, you've searched for theme forests, Shopify in Google, come along here and just search to me like, you know, apparel, we could do clothing. And then what you wanna do is he aid going tend to go for like bestsellers. And then you can kinda have a look at some of these. So you can see here that you've got a multipurpose Shopify sections, things. So this is like all different different sections that you can actually use from an early seventies, $79. And it's had almost 15 thousand sales and is as, as almost 540 store ratings. So this is obviously clearly a very, very popular one, is also a trending here. And what you can do is you can preview this and see what it's all about. So that's how Lewis I. So these are the kind of the themes that you can't get with it inside here. So this looks quite nauseous, nice, straightaway, Dylos coy, smile. If you're in today, if you doing what? Cheers. That looks very, very good. And this clothing worn here. So let's take a quick look at this forms. He just come down here, click on this launch button here. So straight away they've got to coin nice hero image and the background. They've got their menu on the left hand side with a logo in the top left. They've also gone Noyce sale discount code here, which is really, really cool, really, really works well for e-commerce. So they've got sticky header. And if I click on somebody is on the right-hand side here. So you can all see and scroll like this on the right-hand side or go up. So you can shop for her, shop for him, say shop now. So you've got an openness to their product page. Again, they've got that nicer zoom feature on the product. I can also click on it and expands. Just flip through the gallery. So I'm clothes. So Scott, the brand name, the name of it. Let's just double check to make sure this is a hey, H1, H2. So, so Heading two tags, so it's not too bad. Heading one would've been slightly better. Blouse Douglas, still good and you don't need to worry too much about that. As just got good levels of texts and nurse and night bullet points and some color options are sizing the price And to add to cause less, you see what that does is I continue shopping cart. So they've gotten a little Papa there and you can just, you know, continual priest proceeds a checkout. So this looks like a very nice, clean theme, boys, and it's always half of the price of of the ones from the actual shutter voice store themselves. So so yeah, and that's only $70 million. So, you know, what we do is just create an account with them within Barto. Boy now, and then what you do is you'd come back into your store library. So again, come here and just online install themes. You then just click on upload theme here. So you'd get a full instructions. You'd get the zip files or be a ZIP file that you'd get from an inverter. And all you simply do is upload the theme. And it'll be here in the library and then just click add on there. Customizer that NSA, away you go. I'm, they'll get it installed for you. So, so I'm just gonna go back and install the theme which was boundless, which is one that we like. So you simply click on now, I'm gonna go for the black and white version to keep it nice and clean and minimalist and theme library. Okay. So you can see here it's just came populated. Ok guys, so now it's been added to our store and we can start to actually customize this here. We can preview it and publish it. You know, you can rename it. You even duplicated at it some of the code which we won't be doing in this course and earn a lot, lot more. So let's just held this customize. And in the next video we're going to start to build and create our RAM, our shop.
7. Customizing Your Shopify Theme Part 1: Welcome back to lesson six, everyone. So in this lesson, I'm going to teach you the fundamentals of creating a modifying your theme insulin Shopify. So generally in website design, we start with what we call a wireframe. And that's what you can currently see on the screen here. So I'm just gonna spend couple of minutes just going, oh, you've created your wireframes. So this is an actual bullet law you to sort of go ahead and dig. And what essentially this does is it creates a guide for you to add in key elements on your website. So at the moment in might look a little bit confusing. I'm just going to run a there. You know what the elements are and how to sort of create your own wireframe. So a wireframe is, like I said, is a guide that you'd create before crane your website. So this is something you can do on paper. Just very quick and easy. You don't need to spend hours on AD cannot this up in night, 10-15 minutes. And it'll give you a good guide and replan to how to layout your websites. You've got all the key elements on there that you want to display and showcase to your customers. So starting off here, so essentially this is your webpage. So what you've got here is you've got the top here, so we've got an offer bar here. We've got a menu here. We've got your logo in the center of the top, and then we've got your cart elements here. We've got h one, so we're heading wand, say just a bit of text Dear. And then we've got your hero slider in the background. And these Year three sort of, you know, two or three slides I will slide across. You've then got a second menu along here, just some texts and some blurb here. You've then got a little bit more text there. And you've got so four images here. So what we could do is we could add in our four products here. So it's almost like featured, featured products. We then kept in lowercase subscribe, email subscribe options. I wanna keep this there because we want to try and push customers to sign in because that is a key part or growing your e-commerce and Shopify store is to gather email addresses so you can market to them later. And that is a bit of a tip. There's a, you know, Detroit icon of collecting, gather as many e-mails as possible. Because when you have promotions, incentives, and you can e-mail those people because they're already interested in what you do. They're easier to convert into a sale. So I've kept this quota higher paying a lot. People put this right at the bottom next to the footer. And what you'll discover is not every from things like Hot Jar, not everybody will scroll down. So hot jaw will tell you that how far people scroll, scroll down on your pages. And so you know, when kicked us, you know, slightly higher than than right next to the footer. We then just going to have a nice large image and I'll be sure to shop for women's and complimentary image on the right hand side, retrace and Latino shop for men's and then the footer at the bottom here. So this is just a general guideline that you can sketch out just on an A4 piece of paper. As I said, it shouldn't take long in about 1015 minutes or so. And it will give you a good plan and a good guidance to get your parol away. Don't forget that if you are using themes, then you might be slightly. And when restricted to the collar that theme developers, original theme and template. However you know, shop for it does allow you to create sections. And I'd Inc online text and images and video subscriptions and so on and so forth. So, and I'm gonna go over that with you now and we're going to solve, create something like this. It may not be identical to this, but it'll be quite close and quite similar. And this is alkaloid guided wireframe. There are other wireframes or you can look at as well. So if you just go into Google and toy pain website wireframe, you'll see some pages like this, like this. And then you can just call and say, hey, this is somebody else's wireframe that they've done. As they come into Google and just type in, you know, web, web wireframe or website for wireframe, you'll see lots of examples of how calming web designers will create their contract guided as skeleton of, of, of their websites. So, so let's dive back into actually modifying and customizing your Shopify theme. And using our RAM of a guideline that we've faced set out in here. So we're just back in the dashboard. So what we wanna do is come down to online store and hit themes just here. You then see a page such as this and come down to once you've installed your free theme through the Shopify Theme section, come along here and hit the Publish button. Once you find a quick little locally here, hit publish. Ok. So this is now live on the front end to view it. Just come membrane hit here. Okay, So of course, because we've gone no images on there at the moment, what Shopify has done is it's just adds these sort of gray background images in here. And it just shows us a little preview of a missense air. So to stop customizing the theme, or you need to assembly deviants come here and hit the Customize button here. This will then throw you back into the front end of the story in a live and custom editor which has all built Boeing Shopify, and all your column left-hand panel areas where you essentially control the header, the footer, theme, colors, settings, fonts, the topography, and much more so generally, what I start with is the theme's main settings. So this, as you can see here, would include all your main core colors, your typography, the cart sections, social, fabric Holland, which is just this little molecule that you see here in the top left. So Shopify fabric corners, a little green shopping bag with an S on there. And the checkout icon and FEM. Section. So generally guys always start with the colors of the website. And it's this or ordinarily straight up the bag is kind of picked. A good colour scheme is chosen to colonize gold and black, which complements the logo that we've created quite well, as you can see, just say on the, on the Hudud top and Shopify it will try to draw some the colors it can from various sections. But what you want to do is you essentially just come along here. The background. Typically you can already go for a white background. If OC game for a dot colleague can come in, hit dark. And this will give look at darker log. And you can choose your colors in this color selection here, and you can have none. So it's essentially transparent. Will go for different colors. It's this conflict, no royal wrong in general or recommend to go for something quite clean and clinical. White's work quite well. And black if obviously you're going for a dog colored scheme, you know, depending on your product, your service, and your customer. Say generally, I'd say go for none or white or black as a tertiary on that. So I'm gonna stick to avoid here, and that's my Xcode there. The headings and headings are here. So I'm gonna stick to black bus and I can change these to wherever calorie wish. And so we're going to stick to when a black color here, you text. So this is, this, all this full formed here is controlled here. Scroll down links and essence. If he added a link in here to another to another page, that's where you control those. And so for example, if I link on a product would be a different color and that's where you control these buttons, these, and in turn also, I'm going to go ahead and change the button color too. And this noise of gold color here, which complements part the logo in there. So I'm gonna come in, this is camo is prepopulated. The so I'm going to hit that. And you can see is because we're in live edit mode is gone and it's done it straight away. If you do something and you want to go back, you have got these an undo and redo operations and the bottom here. And you can undo and redo. So if I click Undo that, we'll go back to black. If I read it, it go back to gold. Okay? So that's if you make any mistakes. If you do wanna save as you go along, you can just hit the saving the top right corner here. And that will save, save it immediately in the live editor view. So coming down hitting boys. So this is our navigation sections and this is called a menu seeking control. A lot of the colors in this section in the menu here in the navigation. And that's fairly self-explanatory. And so just moving down here. So the footer so that is the bottoms have I come all the way down here. So you can see the background is gray and the text is darker gray. So force to change this. And other known Redlaser say just so you can see it. So you can see all that in then doctrine changed all the colors in there. So we'll just keep it slowly off grey as it was previously. And text in there is on there as well. Drawers. So this is actually the side menu here. So if I come in here and then following, I click this and change it to gold, for example, that will change their light gray or white drawers as like a hamburger menus what we call a. And again, tech save on to make this text Golden's dead. Or just simply come in there and change it out. So it's all in live preview. It's all kind of a lot of time. So it's, you know, no incidence straightforward. So that will come in like dictate all you're cloning for your menu colors and all the colors across the, across the board there. And save you come down to typography now, so this is essentially all your text and type. So at the moment, default formed his perform called Karla. So they've given you a Shopify uses a good mix of fonts in here. Some of my personal favorites. The icon off the news are rim Avenir. So if you just type in that Avenir to Avenir next is a very good one. Aberdeen Nick's rounded is also very noisy if I just quickly show you this one. So you just see there that it's just changed. What you can do is you can also change the type on there. So forgets lloyd, For example, a medium weight. So it will be slightly more thicker. Now. There you go. So you just seen it, it's gone slightly more theater bit more legible but more readable. Another good form that I really using as a very, very popular one that the moment is one called Montserrat. And so we're just going to show you that one as well. So you can, you can see there is just change as a slowly again come down here, perhaps a, a medium weight. There we go. So that looks quite clean, quite clinical learning, I think it matches the rest of the theme where it's quite clean when minimalist theme. So I'm gonna go ahead and run with Montserrat and select that one. And in terms of the base size fold, So this is for some of the main headings. So you can come in here and change this. So wash shop boy does, is it will coined a limit. The font size is just give you a guidance to follow best practice in there. So you can choose a font size which is ten pixels, for example, could be TO small. You couldn't read as they're supervised quote, good with var. Again, same sort of thing with them in navigation and buttons always is. So I'm gonna stick to the 16 pixels. That's got an exercise, quite legible and it looks good. And we can make it kept alloys if you view really, really wanted to. And that'll just make him all in cups. So I'm just going to uncheck that they're your body text. So this is all your text here, not your headings. And so the Kremlin is open sounds, which I think is quite nice, but I do like to go full REM, again, Euler, modern Surat or Maven. Another good one is is Railway. So just to show you that one, CSS changed in no, no, this is a railway formed Sasquatch cane phone and said also may vanish, coined Good one. So it's going to hit Maven. And that was quite clean. But what I'm gonna do is in this instance, I am going to go for the main form, which is Monserrat as loyal main heading forms. And I'm just going to stick to that because it looks for noise and consistent is very clean and legible. So I'm gonna go ahead and select that. And I am going to bump up the size of the text ever so slightly and just to make a little bit more legible. So I'm going to bump that up to 16 pixels and they should get a bit bigger. Now, there we go, that's perfect. And that looks gray spot on as well in there as well. So what you do, Morten do wonders why you don't wanna make it too small that it's not easily readable for your room, for your customers. And you do want to make it nice and easy for them to sort of read the font and the text and appreciate your room. You saw it in there, so it's just a bit of a top tip there. Okay, once you've selected your forms in here, just go ahead and insane in the top right corner. Okay, and then just comeback. So we've done colors within typography. So let's go down to our part section. So the current section, we can keep it in a drawer style which is like this. Or we can have it as, as a, as a page. One day I'm gonna do is I'm going to stick to the original font and keep it as a drawer style. And generally the theme designer's wall tend to get that right. You know, so, you know, it's good practice to kind of keep a lot of the core settings as they are. Both signal and to play around though should Jewish. So your social media settings, and you can call him, just copy paste your room, Facebook, links and brands in here you've got Facebook, Twitter, Instagram in their Google and many, many others. You can take these doing, you know, to make it sharable. So all we do is just go into your page, which will be similar format in today's facebook.com slash. And it'll be your brand names are just simply gone to your Facebook page, copy paste that link in there. And the same for the rest of the channels. So what I'm gonna do is I'm just going to pop that in there for that, for the minute. And this is two. Just so there's something in there that you can, that you can see women go through later on. I cake. So just go back here. So fabric haunted. This has mentioned this just the small icon that's again, let gets left in the browser. So I do recommend to use that because it is a good way of branding and helping users when they bookmark your psi, when they call, you know, add into their library. It is, it is a good way of differentiating your brand and also making him more identifiable. So you can't just come up here and just select your your logo, for example. And then once I saw a finished populating to simply hit select and then save. And then once I come on the front end and hit Control, Command or Control F5 and keyboard. You can see that it's added the fiber corn in the top here in the browser, as it will likely come back and change this. Although I'm using a dark color scheme is quite hard to see at the moment. But you want to do something loyal shopper voice, don't. Air is clean, crisp, and it's very identifiable to your brand. Such a fabric colon. And you check out is if you want to add in some logos, etcetera, change your topography on the checkout stages. So we'll come back to this once we've done their customers or rest of the site. Okay, so that's essentially your ram, your main theme settings. So we've done the main things, which is your colors, your types, and new social media. So let's go back and jump into these sections. Solenoid to start off from the top-down. And that's a real good way to sort of control of the whole of your site guys. So what we're gonna do is I'm actually going to start with your logo. So your logos actually going to be in the header section. So if you come down to the header and then there's a, you got two logos here. So this particular theme gives you two options. One is for the internal pages and monitor the homepage, which is one that we've solved currently on. So I'm just gonna come in here and select this one. This has already been uploaded in there from our family cone. So I'm just gonna go ahead and select this again and again. You can call it like edit this, change this, and use your logo that you sort of created. So that's essentially our logo added on here. So this is the antecedent there as well. It select. So go back and we can then store, do our top navigation announcement bar. So what I'm gonna do is, and what I recommend is to have something like a discount or percentage because they work fantastically well. So let's just do something like. Introductory offer. Get 25% off. Now. Use code 25 off. Okay? So, so that's on noiseless, nice and easy and that can be set tilting your room, your homepage willingly, or nouns and pagers or cross the Bolshoi January sages leave it across the whole site because you never quite know where your users might land, so they might not land on your homepage the more informed you and end up on your internal page. So January and technical option on there. Okay, so we've got our logo, we've done our ROM entry, top bar, offer sands. You've come down here. Now let's add our hero image into the slide bar here and start bringing this side ready to live. So that's when your slideshow here. It's a Component_2 slideshow. And I definitely want it as full screen. And that's January, the good trend as following that the moment I would like my slides to auto rotate because I will add multiple slides in here. And you can also add an image overlay over the image. So that's essentially like a color. So I can call it change all these colors here to make an estimate. The text here a little bit more legible. And so you'll see, you can play around with this section to kind of make it more positive, suitable for whatever image that you're adding on there. So I mean, 20-25 percent in January works quite well. But let me just come in and let's just get an image added on. So, so what I have done is I have created a couple of hero images. So I've gone these images from some disorders we talked about in some of the early lessons, which is an splash and, and you know, Pixabay, et cetera. So you can see here that we've got our, our RAM hardware logo on there. And we've got some text here, so that's slide one. So I'm just going to select this. Okay, and then just look at the positioning of N, makes sure I'm happy with the positioning of the image. So it's currently set to middle center. So let's just have a look at it as a, as for example, top center literacy while it does. So it's called slightly higher up. And I think that looks pretty cool. They're holding that works. So I'm happy with that. And thank you. So the text on there so we could do something like, you know, wild comin to put where apparel starts on there. Ok. So just go back on there. And so we're going to add in a new image slide for our second slide, CE, Common Era again and select Upload. And for my second image, I'm going to choose this one here. Just wave flux load. Okay, and that's my second slide or so. Come in here, hit select again, and then I can change what Fontan. And sort of do something like introducing menswear. Okay? And I could also add a link on here so I could call it, send it to a page, which we're do after once we've started to create our pages. Okay, so let's close that down as well. You can reorder these from here. You can swap them around. And Yoko for whichever one new field looks better as your collagen main hero image. So again, we've got our kind of our logo on there. So I'm going to actually keep the, this particular one as the hero image of when you land on the soil. So again, you can swap these around as you see fit. You can add in multiple images in here. For the moment I'm going to stick to, to add the ostium, just gonna boat now up slightly to around 40%. Just to make the text a little bit more legible. So I've just made the, the overlay slightly dark and you can see here the font is slightly more readable now. Okay, so that's our slide. And so we've, we've already well underway guys. We've got our logo down, we've got our hero image, some texts and our hero section. We've got our REM introductory offer added as well. So this is flicking through a little bit too quick in my opinion. So I'm just gonna go back in here. And I'm just going to change the settings to five seconds. Just so it's a little bit longer and then hit the Save in the top right corner. Just wait for this green bars finish. So that's all saved up now guys. So we've got this, so we've got all our above the fold. So this section here is called the above the fold section in the web design. We also above the fold comes from an old newspaper term, whereby you essentially have all your important elements and all your important offers. You're branding a logo in there because that's the first thing people see when they land on your side. As I said, it comes from an old newspaper terminology because that's when newspapers were folded. It was above the fold. That was the main had learned that's what they wanted people to see to purchase a newspaper that's just been transferred into the corner, into the digital era and into website design. Okay, so we've got that. So, so I'm just going to edit this sort of dissection here. So talk about your brand. So come here. Let's put something so we didn't, you know, welcome to herd apparel wear. So we've done that. And in here you can put in something like a tagline or something like that. So I'm just gonna put that in clothing. For your choices, something, something like that. You can put in some text area and you know, as you see fit and just talk a little bit about your ram. Your brand and corner more represents your brand. So I'm just going to quickly type something in here. Okay, so I'm just calling my made to suffer know as we've gone along on the fly. So, you know, a beautiful apparel cloning supplier based in the UK. So I'm just colored telling them who we are, what we deal, where we're based, you know, a modern twist of and again, relaxed hoodies to wed her any day. Check out some of our styles below. So short, short, snappy, unquote, punchy. They've also got some mass or noise keywords in here. So you've got clothing, supply a, we've got where we're based, just go import and we've got, you know, what we're scanning. And coronoid from him went to wear them so any day. And so that's a nice idea. Just call it, introduce you know, who you are, what you do in there. So this is our first product that we added on there, so it looks pretty cool. So what we're gonna do is we're just going to come up in the top right, hit the save button. And then we're going to add in a few more products. So I'm just gonna go ahead to what we've already covered this section. So I'm luckily today again. So if you have a if you bear with me, I'm nobody go in and just populate a few more in there just to get this whole populated.
8. Shopify Theme Customisation Part 2: So now that we've got our homepage one and awake or is this is kind of how it's unfolding at the moment. So we've also added in the rest of the images so we can see now that these images are looking pretty sharp. So these rooms that we've got from the website, Laplace dotted, which were talked about earlier, which is only $15 a month. And you can see, so these models all have kind of La Jolla ID or anything on a wall or send our kind of apparel wear. This has just been done from place a which didn't take long at all. Is that a, you know, a cost of $15. And you know, it can really bring the soil to live, so are highly, highly recommend that site. And this is kind of how it is shaping up. So we're gonna dive back into the into the daughter provide dashboard and continue building the next sections according to our wireframe, which I'll just bring up for you now. So this was our wireframe, as you can say. So we've con, completed all this whole top section above the fold. You've done this text. We've also done these four boxes here to subscribe section is also in and I'm going to show you how to do this as we go along. And I'm also going to show you how to add in this text here, as well as these images in here as well. So let's just dive back into the board. So what we do is just scroll down to here. So this section here, so you can see on the left-hand side here, intersections and the top-left. So you've got the rich text here so far. Just essentially click on that. And you can see there it says urban clothing in a four-year choice and a bit of text inside there. So if I wanted to add unnecessary, duplicate that for example, on simply added section, go on to the text, one which is air rich text, and to Shopify ladder to the bottom. So he added in there. We'll just leave it as that for a second just so you can see it. And then all you simply do is just grab it from here and move it up. So I'm just gonna put it right next to that section there. As you can see, this is just duplicated dissection there. And if you want to hide it, you just click on this little icon and that will hide it. So you might say you're doing with a special promotion or offer. And he's thinking more on might put this live again in next month, for example. Instead of deleting that section, you can just simply holiday. And once you're ready to put it back on, just to unhide it and shopping for your show again. So that's so you can just follow that. Obviously, if you want to remove that section, just come into it and just hit remove. And it'll go, it'll go against easy as that. So look at the wireframe. So we've got this section here, and then we've got our two images across here. So I'm gonna go in here and new section here. I'm going to go to image with text on there and thousands on the left-hand side, I'm gonna go ahead and add on grace, select an image on here. So I'll upload it's more images. So I'm gonna do the ladies on there and hit select. And then let's just print some text in here. So I've got some texts for here. So I'm just gonna paste this in here and here, which can do shop. Women's. And then the button is, is can be something like Cabin shop now. And if you wanna solve, link the button anyway, just link it to a product of your choice and link away you wouldn't really inside there, which can do that for the moment. They can see it. So that's section is done. And then just go back and then do another section. Click on imager texts again. Hit add. This one. We're going to align it to the right-hand side. Select your image. So again, it's just one of prepopulated, just coming on the right-hand side. So just go in there, paste it in there. Shop, shop men's inside their shop now. And then just go to products, for example, and just let the relevant product and they won't get populated in there as well. So yeah, so does corner, pretty mature radiuses hit the saved and the top rise is as easy and as simple as that really boys, you know, we've, we've got 40 upper morning saw it in a dat, dat didn't take me long at all to do is very, very quick, easy and painless in a foil. And in these products that will take me to the those particular product page, we did have one section, in fact T, which was featured items deeply. So let's get back to it in there as well. So what we wanna do is just I didn't rich text. Let's just add that on. And then k this off and do featured products. Okay, so nice and easy. Then what we're gonna do is just move this up below there. So I should be just above there. There we go. Perfect. Sunspot on now that now matches our RAM. A wireframe, which is the text here that you can see, the text here which has featured products along with this whole section there. So that's perfectly in there now. And those column just finished it all off. To go our newsletter subscribed to capture the email addresses. And we've got the shock women's and the short men in there as well. So we're jumping the Front-end, do Command or Control F5 in your keyboard. And this is kind of how it will look to the end-user. So pretty cool, quite clean. And that's all in there. So that kind of just about wraps it up for, you know, getting familiarized with the dashboard. We're now gonna encoding, gonna take a little look a product page. So we're just going to dive in and just click on this one here, for example. So you can see guys is in the product page, is in a bit of a mess. And it needs to be solved or tidied up looking at the images and everything or, or, or everywhere. So I'm gonna show you how to solve, edit this and get a looking absolutely spot on. Okay guys say, well I'm welcome back. What I've done is so you can probably see there's been a, been a drastic change on the product page. So about to come in and do some men tweaking and it looks like it looks quite noise. And we've got Sauvignon noise, full prominent images of our product here where the embed description Texan, social media users can also go back to the homepage, obviously Add to Cart and boyd Now which is well above the fold, which is an ideal place where you want it. So we've got our sort of for, sort of options of colors here as well. To the reason why I'm about to do this is there is a slight small glitch in this particular theme at the minute. I'm not sure if Shopify was actually aware of that. I have contacted them to let them know. So lattice or do a slight workaround and I'll just show you how to actually do that. And there's actually a good opportunity here to optimize some of the images and make them even more SEO friendly and improved them further. So I'm just going to show you that now. We want actually coming to your product section, finding actual product, which is this one here. So what I've done is I've actually had to remove the images from this section, which is the Media, which is normally where you would put them as we're normally recommend we'd put them often acts as a tiny blip at the moment, we've got to come up with a slog slot workaround, we should not, not initially. So what I've done is I've created essentially to images in here. So 12 and I have combined the fall in to lots of two. So it looks like this four, but there's actually two to lots of two images at. And then obviously our Texas just at the bottom here. So it kind of looks looks like that in there. So you can, I mean, you can easily do this in a program like I mentioned in the lessons. So something like photocopy or knowing which has, you know, a fast free software online making, just upload your images and quickly and easily edit them. And you can do this and can as well. Obviously with fainter p, You don't need to create an account earning lot ages. Simply upload your images, crop them and away you go. So yes, so Ram said, I've just had to kind of cook them in there and do it that way. So it's nice and nice and straightforward. And you can just kind of just paste them in, inside there. And then it will look just, just as nice as this one here. So to make these and slightly more SEO friendly, I'm just going to show you that as well. So let's just say I'm adding in a new image salacious. Put a new one down here just so I can show you to just simply community click on Insert Image. And let's just click on this one here. Once you've done it in here and you're in this Insert Image section and just scroll down slightly and you'll see image, old text and soil. So you wanna click on original size. And then in the old text, in each one talking to me like, you know, that's going to be SEO friendly. They're so white. Who did? Ladies top? Something like that. Yeah, into image, starts in nano. So that will kind of help with your research and your listings. And also if people are also searching for images in Google essay or even social media, you absolutely can have Pinterest and so far that you've got, you know, ability to Conor Rankin knows and people click on those and they'll get you free traffic as well. And so that's all inside there, guys. So I'm just going to remove that and just tell you some days don't get put in Goodman's text in there. That content or fully describes your product. You can bold some items to make them more SEO friendly. And that will solve that. So yes, so in terms of that, to be honest, that's pretty much it for this section. So let's move on. Let's dive into the next section.
9. Best Apps, Complete Shopify Ecommerce List: Hey everyone, welcome back to lesson number eight. So what am I going to do later in this lesson is to come down to the apps section as we're going to cover off all the apps. And once we've completed that, we can dive into the marketing side of things. So we've got a few apps feet install and so please do take notes or you can call them, install them along side-by-side in the south. So the first one we're going to install is called Help Center. So Help Center is essentially an FAQ app. And what that's gonna do is it's going to allow you to add FAQs and add questions and dancers to commonly asked questions for you store. So I think these are really, really good for SEO. They are good for customers that are good for your customer experience. It will also help to reduce admin time. Very good all-round. Because there's extra content, extra questions. And you've also got possibility of potentially ranking high robe in Google as well in the Serbs. So we're just gonna go ahead and install that app from here on the right. So I'll take a few seconds to install. So once that's installed, you'll then see a screen that looks a little bit like this. So one taste install goes where you want to do is just go ahead and click on this link here. This will then take you to the Help Centers main screen. So what, what it does is helps them that gives you correlate pre-made FAQ's, which ones really, really, really useful. So on the right-hand side here you can see which ones are already published and which ones are unpublished. So what we're going to, I mean, you can call it R3, name these, so you can, this is called a main section and this is called your article inside that. And so what we're gonna do is keep calm and keep this as a as close, absolutely fine. So things like, you know, shipping payments and, you know, you can do returns and refunds at Audi placements and stuff like that. So these are really very useful. So Shipping here, so let's come in, edit this one. So what you wanna do is you want him just change some of the sort of things in here that correlate marked with x and change them around. So, you know, international orders you call up a lot 14 days. And in a known business I do 57 and just call it tweaked the x part to con white suit your store. So you know, all, you know, shipping costs, orders over $50 will have free shipping for example. So whatever suits your particular shop, just put that in there and just save it. Okay. Anything that you don't want and, you know, orders, orders, placement, you can just call it exit off or delete it altogether. Or as I said, just on publishing, it just depends on noise and meet you only keep it. You know, you can create, you can create new ones and there's he want to create your own custom ammonia crit, common name clicking an ad, just pulling their sum or the new section, testing section. And this is just so you can see on the front end. So I didn't a new article on there. So that's coming there and at the bottom so you can move this around and calm way see fit. So it's very, very easy to say you can delete, Unpublish, publish, and sold, and so forth. And so what we're gonna do is now to get this visible on the front-end and come into the setting section here. And then copy this URL here. Copy that add to menu item. You then want to add it to your main menu or any other menu of your choice. To hit Main Menu, hit menu item. So I'm just gonna call it FAQ. May come in here and hit paste. There should then throw up this little menu option here so it can come that and then hit the add button and then save. And what we can do is just few are still on the front-end. Okay, and then just come into the menu, hit the FAQs. And you can see it's live here. And we can then see the Carnegie units, some of the things that we've added on there. And you can see that the payments and the stuff that we've essentially put live and that new test section that we created as well. That's kind of like working straight out of the box. And if you follow my guide dog should work quite effortlessly. And as I said, it is very, very good one to kind of help your users out and decrease any admin time that you might have. One tiny thing that you might need to tweak is the URL. Sometimes I can be a little bit of a pain. And if you do need to customize your URL, just double checking here, following what I've just clicked on. And that's through here. And you know, the, the, the path to it there. So, so then essentially that's your first app installed, guys. And that is the Help Center out. Now the next app that I want you to install is one called Luke's. And Luke is a review center app and essentially allows you to have some good social proof on your website. So that's Luke's Alda below X. So links gives you a 14 day free trial and thereafter there is a small fee, but it is well worth it because this will, reviews are a big, big part of e-commerce and Shopify. And that will give you a lot of kind of credibility in social proof. And it also allows you to solve creates when some new ons reviews yourself. And yeah, you can get your, you can import them as file from code of family or friends or past customers and all show you all that now. So I'm just gonna go ahead and hit. All the free trial. So what is the dashboard laser guys? You'll see a screen that looks like this. Say Luke's Carnegie and it gives you some data and it helps you comment, determine home sales and volume. Again, in convoyed through the, you know, the actual append south in a heavy rookie reviews have been sent and so on and so forth through there. So, you know, you can change language settings, the stars that you only want to show up. So you know, ideally you want to shave for forward up. Ravine education. Say you want to introduce enabled, but we're going to talk more about that because we're going to combine your reviews with them, an email app and I'm going to show you how to, you know, amplify this and the United supercharge. It says a lot, lot better. Not sort of things. Wanting that we all make changes as the style color. So you stall kinda IDD or recommend game for something like a BLA stop color rather than the default black that you get with it. So you can use this in, go ahead and use this stockholder which is a, which is the hex FFD f 0 is 0. And that will give you a noisy yellow star color. Gold colored nasa a lot, lot better than the standard corner black color. So when, I mean store ratings at your locker said that really, really helped reduce social proof. And they're already ready. Colon lift your store and how to improve your sales. Now, if you're not so keen on paying for it and you're just starting off neuronal, real tight budget. Then there is a, another bond boy company called hole caps to come back into the app store and just Token there, free product review. Oops. Okay, and this is one here by whole cap. So just click on this phone here. Just go ahead and take out the app. So that will just get it installed. And this is essentially a little bit similar to the Luke's warm. However, this of course, is completely free. Amino, I won't go over this particular one, but it is quite self-explanatory to kind of get it installed and collagen start adding reviews on there. And they have got instructions on there as well. But this is essentially a mover, a free version on that side of it. So, so the third, the third one that you can install is a, another one's called SMS bump. And this is an absolutely amazing, amazing up. And, and essentially what this does is this allows you to send automated text messages to potential customers that, you know, essentially the add-in quote, checkout. Or they may put something in the basket. They didn't quite purchase. Sms pump does is it allows you to send a text message to that potential customer. For example, with a discount code or a gift voucher way to win back that losing or that lost customer. And this, I mean, there's people out there that have Conan got five-sixths, 700% return on their investment from this app. And so it's an absolutely fantastic what is worth every single penny. And I highly, highly recommend it. And what we're gonna do is with this one, we're going to, we're going to talk about, you know, a lot about this. And there's a whole section illnesses Paul, the marketing and we'll show you how to properly set the whole dashboard up and how to call a lawyer, automate it so you can win, but those losing customers, and I'm also gonna show you how to personalize it. So, you know, so when, when people do receive a text message, you'll feel, feel very personalized to them. Launch, combine. Personalization with automation. Goes, you're going absolutely fly in your, your sales or greg. Absolutely explode. They are the key takeaways and the top tips I can give you with e-commerce. If you're personalizing your ram, your shopping experience for your customers, and you make them feel special. You or get you organized gay sales, you know, 24-7 in around the clock when you're asleep. And so I'm going to be showing you all of this can be a dedicated section to marketing in the next lesson, and I'm gonna show you how to solve, use all these. So that's SMS bump and as an awesome, awesome software. So we're going to assume that one. So let's move on to our next app. A case a app Number four is one called obtain monk. So optimum is a intro and exit pop-up style software. So just this one here. So common air and select this one. Say optimum gives you a free basic plan. And essentially this one lets you create intro pop-ups, exit, intent, pop-ups, and honest sometimes pop-ups. And they can be a little bit sort of annoying, but trust me guys, these do work and these to regain your potential losing customers. So you really do want to try and wood things like SMS bump, and others. The absolutely fantastic. However, the bonds which are optimum dead ones actually will save, save those customers before they bounce or exit from your website. So for example, the way that these software's work is if a user is their mouse is kind of going to the top left-hand corner. You know, the software knows, okay, this customers is gonna press the back buttons or if don't know him page they're going to exit away. It also names if if you call it with speed, go up the page in, you know, in a certain motion, certain speed, or to the top right, the software, you can detect the motion of the mouse movement. And they've got very, very clever features and algorithms built in. They can detect that this uses actually navigating away. So it's a very, very good one, and I highly, highly recommend it. So you will need to solve them. Create an account with optimum to, it is free to use it for the basic package. Are definitely due recommended guys. So I'm gonna go ahead and get that installed. So I'll show you how to do that now. So these are some of the forms that they give to you that there are opiates in the cote professional means you can do them in. So sees no, you can do like Black Friday sales, Halloween for example. And all we can do conjoint generic ones, seasonal ones tend to work quite well. However, if I'm honest with you and just from my experience, as long as you're giving some coordinate discount and people love that. So just go for something that complements your ram, your shops in those coil, Conway simple, Tommy's work really, really well. And the other handy thing is that and the optimum tariffs, they actually give you the average conversion rate on there as well, which is fantastic in kimono. And actually look at how well these, this style of pop-up is converting a minute and say, well, this one is converting at 8.3 tips and which is very, very high compared to this one which is less than 1%. So that would be a better option. And things like this where it says 2019, you can go and change that quite easily. Let's just have a quick look at this one. See Edison's coil is, wow, I do like the ones I've got like a low timer on them. Or do you find that they're very effective? And so let's go ahead and go for this one here, which is go quite good. Conversion rates on there. And what you do is you just basically come in the top right-hand corner here and hit create campaign. So we have, we can create a For us to a next wave for it today's thing. Okay, and then it's a very simple wysiwyg edit tag and a voice is what you get editor. And you can call my tweet this and change this as you see fit. So let's just say, you know, I'd say 25% off and on their order. Okay. When you complete your road in 15 mins, could even be 15 minutes is quite a good time because people do solve, you know, have a little look around. You could probably even decreased dial to, let's say perhaps call my ten minutes. I'm suggest on the left here wants you. So click on S on the left here you can come up with slide is you can easily colour change all this. And you can do by date as well if you want to have a date on there, or RAM or toy, depending on what your product is. So it's going to change this to 25 as well. Okay? So just simply idea of the ACP, Eugenie to give this option. Generally I try to make this Lloyd is smaller and font and just come in and just drop it down to maybe 11 or something like that and says no visible or to visible. But you do have to give the customer the option of being genuinely take these crosses off as well if I can, because you want to stop people, they're identical and this particular one that I have got this option. So you could, you know, you can leave that on now org OC can deleted or duplicated, but And this is a very, very good one. Let's just change a bacteria to time and as to ten minutes. So what will happen is that essentially pop-up on the screen and that will kind of just a countdown will stop automatically. And so now what you do is you can have your set, your triggers. So on XA intense, you can probably see from there that if they uses go near the top left corner with their mouse a quite quickly and in top left corner, it will show up on the screen. Worth again, need the comma, the X to exit the bone off. And you can do on there as well. You can add in more triggers so you can play around with it a lot. You know, you can search in China at all these generally you wanna set it's like mobile as well. And because you know, you will get a lot of mobile users on there as well. But it's common is quite clever. Software allows you to sort of pick and choose. And there's very, very good. And so for the moment we'll just set it on exit so you can't do own intro as well. And so you can all frequency so you can solve Senate and so do it based on, you know, if they've been on your website for let say one minute and then you can sell it to us all. Pop up and say, Hey, he's, he's, you know, 10% off honors. If you check out the next 40 minutes worth that was texting away. So you can do a lot with optimum. So once you've done that, I just hit the next button. Hit the active button in the top right. And so that's called a into barium one that we've just created stats now live. And that's kind of good to go and this as easy as like guys. So that's kind of why optimum, all such habit takes lessons or five minutes. And you've got, you know, noise up there and a lot of software now potentially get you more sales straightaway. I can. So now that we've got our four solid apps. So identical coins once you add it in your room, XA and intent in a pop-ups. And also, once you go to SMS, pumped on average will go shortly. Don't get to actually set up your discount, which we did cover of earlier, 50%. So you're just coming there, hit create discounts that customers get confronted this at checkout. So set up your RAM. Twenty-five percent of special. Okay, and then obviously twenty-five percent off. So you can obviously also join in total order. On specific orders. They would need to do a minimum purchase of, let us say, and a 100100 pound for example. And name USA dates on there. And obviously you'd want to have this kind of in your optimum area so you don't just go in and say so. And that we'll call them obviously does then all good to go. So once you use a sort of, you know, starts to exit or it is looking into clothes off, you know, you can hit them with this author. You, you may want to consider potentially dropped that down to maybe in 15, 15%. And anything lower than that, really people, they'll kind of like not be to Korolev. For SPY is ideally a 15 to 24%. For exciting, we're bouncing customers is quiet noise benchmark. Have just insurance viable for your particular store and shop and for your economy to your business model as well, of course, I case. So once you've got that, let's dive back into the app store. Less continues and there's only, you know, just two or three more direct commend, but you know it, the sharpened the apps are starting to look really, really good here. So let's dive back into the, into the app store. Okay, so back in the Appstore guys. And next one that you want to install is one called Ricart, which has a Facebook Messenger marketing app. And we're going to just go in there, hit, hit and the app. And I'm going to talk a lot about this particular one as part of the marketing lessons. So just go ahead and add up for the Maman seen over 20 is, is record, which is a Facebook Messenger app. And essentially what that allows you to do is, is to message people via Facebook messenger. You know, there are a lot of people, you know, Facebook's going, you know, well over a billion users on their platform. And this, you know, this allows you to call them in a message them directly in anus and information send them offers, you know, if they, if they charging, if they abandoned their car, again, you can sort of send them a message. So if they don't quite get to that stage where they'd near know quite checked out or your employer to that. You can send them a message and it's called much, much higher open rate. And nine emails or email open raise typically around 20-25 percent, roughly. So Facebook messengers open raise on lot La Jolla. So the more people that see your offers, CEO Corner promotions and see your messages or see the more chance YouGov increasing your sales. You know, when, you know, in this day and age, you know, e-commerce is all about, you know, having a multitude present is coming in a different kind of, you know, we're mediums state to hit people within a, b, email, SMS, Facebook, social media. And, you know, having a good omnipresent with most multivariate is, there is a great way to sort of increase and bumblebees sales. So say get down installed as well. But I said in the marketing lesson I'm gonna go over this one in good detail and trade US step-by-step as well. So the next one is called hot dry and hot Joe. We've talked a little bit about this previously. This allows you to create a heat map and view recordings visitors seeing you know, how they are interacting with your website, where you can avoid falling down and make improvements that way and really get a common lock, a first-person view. It's like essentially looking over your customers shoulder when they're looking at your website. So there's lots of things you can pick out from a, and for this particular one goes, I'm, you know, boy recommended is to not actually install hot draw through. Let me this particular one is a paid version where there's the unofficial won. Most of, most of these 1-0 REM or paid. So what you can do it, I'll actually give you a way to get it installed completely free. So all you need to do is just go to you and to hot job.com. Just to sign in and create an account with hot George's completely free. Once you're signed in, what you want to do is just copy your ram, your code, so you can get your code from the tracking in the top right. And this is what your code looks like. So just click to copy your code. And what you wanna do is you just wanna paste it before the closing head tag, and I'll show you how to do that right now. So all you do is make sure it's copied back into your, into your Shopify Dashboard. Come here to themes on the left. Click under here and directions and hit the edit code button. So it's going to edit the code. Okay, you then want to edit the theme dollar liquid foil underneath Layout folder to come to the'm dot liquid here. You then just want to hit Command F or Control F on Windows and search for head H-E-A-D. That will then highlight. And he had text in your mid theme, so steep closing head tag here. So on this particular theme is in line 64 at the moment. So you could just come in here and just do slash head like that. So that's your clothing had tags and wonder, just come above there. Make sure you don't edit or delete any any of the OK to Belleville or after it to a few line breaks in there, simply hit paste. I guess that I shall CON what you hot dry tracking code in there now. And all you do is hit the save button top right. And that's a done that will then start recording. You can con la verify your installation of. So this is from a different website, but you can verify the installation. And that will con work colored green and shade us all been installed all correctly. And essentially you'll contribute your, you're good to go. And as I said, I'll show you sort of, you know, all about Connor Hot Jar. And after an org over all the conjoint, they could heatmaps and create heat bumps and looking at order all your recordings of all your customers. And when giving a good insoluble or that side of it as well. Okay. So that's your that's your hortatory installed as well. Okay. The final one that we're going into is an email app called Colombia. And this is a fantastic app which allows you to essentially do e-mail marketing via automation. And Columbia really, really helps you sort of automate all your email. You know, wind back customers, do promotions and ready, grow your ram, your Shopify store. So you can just come over here on the left and hit Add app on there. And that will get our email marketing software underway. Just go ahead and install the app. So just make sure you're happy with all the details in there and type in a password of your choice. And then he gets started. So caveats just now gonna setup in all its, all its components inside there. And to take a moment. Okay, so once has successfully connected to your store, just hit the continue button. And again, this is just for their own kind of marketing purposes. So if you call a hit, you know, some of these above here they'll call, their marketing team will be in touch with the a. So I just say continue on there. And you'll just seemed to fill out some of these cone of these details. And this is important for email marketing because, you know, by law in majority candidate country Janet have this common failed in with the details on negligence is going to be displayed in email. So once you're happy with that, just hit Continue. Okay, and again, this is call it the quick way of doing it, but I'm going to show you the proper way of setting it all up and customizing it properly with all the automation in there and everything. So we've essentially signed up for it. We've confirmed our email and that's all good to go. So what we get it days are, again, in the next lesson, I'm going to cover this off in greater detail and get you all automated with email marketing as well. So essentially guys, that is it, that's our seven apps in total. Don't forget we've got the hot jaw one which we've manually install for free. And this is my top list that we're going to use. And what I've tried to do is I've tried to use the apps that have gotten a minimum, minimal told, you know, soft costing at all. So we've got the Luke's reviews mon which has got the free trial currently with the 14 days. Obviously, we've got the whole Apps as an alternative, which is a Photo Review on or their Luke's, in my opinion, is slightly better and slightly more professional. But this is the master list. This is u comma u top list, two corners, not only view, monitor, measure and grow your store, but it's really, really going to help. The final lesson later on Berg also going to look at or below, which is the drop shipping one. And I'm going to cover that off by essentially I also, you know, if you all are here for the drop shipping side of things, you cannot. You can still use all these apps for your drop shipping in a Shopify store. You know, they didn't branded drop shipping or no, yeah, this is perfect and ideal for that side of it as well. So they, you know, all of this compliment each other perfectly. And as anyone in the final lesson, we're going to get this one installed after, and I'm gonna go over the side of it for you as well. So super, super excited, this is called like our top, top, less thinned and this is going to explode your sales. We've covered off, you know, driving traffic. This is all cool. My enhancing your store, personalizing your stall and getting those all important cells for you to grow your business this year. So, so thanks for watching this lesson and I'll call, wait to see you in the next lesson, we're gonna cover off deep into the marketing sessions and make sure you've got your pen paper, New Carnegie, your marketing hat on because we're gonna cover off a lot of stuff in good detail. So I'll see you guys in the next one.
10. Shopify Ecommerce Marketing Stage 1: Okay, so just to recap then guys, you're now familiar with creating your brand's identity through a fantastic logo, you can source high-quality professional images for your new website. You know how to set up and customize your theme through Shopify. So when you're also, you're familiar with also the apps and the best ones to use to grow your business this year. So we're now going to move on to one of the most exciting parts of this course, and that is the marketing side of things. So I'm really excited about this particular lesson and I'm gonna dive in. So please do have something to take notes with. And we're gonna go straight into it and I'm gonna show you how to set up a maximize those apps to get the most from them for yourself, avoid store. So let's, let's dive back into the lesson and less, less get things moving. So as part of D and the marketing guys you won't run into is you want to make sure that your store has got a professional domain name. So at the moment, this is set on a sub-domain, and that doesn't look quite as professional as having your own.com or UK, for example, or whatever the domain extension won't be. So what we wanna do is to get that set up is just come down to the domain section here on the left. What you then want to do is you can either purchase a domain name through Shopify itself, and you can purchase it through a third party companies such as Go Daddy or RAM, or domain.com or cheat names.com for example. And you can then are the transfer the domain in to Shopify or what I would recommend days is to actually just connect the domain. So what you wanna do is, as I say, if you've got lookup, Go Daddy, domain, or mean or can even help you out with these sort of things. You know what? I've got a domain and hosting company myself, you know, if you want to reach out to me and I can help you out with that as well and get it all set up for you. Whatever is easier for you. So you essentially do is it's just going to want you purchase your domain with third party and make sure you're logged in to that second octave. So if you've got four letters, let's say GoDaddy.com. Make sure you're logged in into your GoDaddy.com website and domain and then conduct correct. Exist in Maine. Toy pin that domain that you want to connect. Hit Next, that what that would then do is it will then throw you back into your Go Daddy or check to make sure that you're logged in there to give permission. Just hit the next and continue by. And it's very, very self-explanatory, is said just literally two or three simple steps hit Next. And then, and then basically Shopify will do its stuff in the background and connect the two domains. Once I connected, you'll then get a few more options here. And what you wanna do it under the primary domain. What you can see here, you will then be able to sort of select heard apparel wear.com, for example, instead of this one, and set that as your primary domain. And then as they near a shot before we do, it's barely or kind of just showcase. It will look like basically log that basically. So like this and the top left hand corner, it would look like that. So nice and professional and you won't have this whole sub-domain there. So that's the first thing that you want to do is when you set up your domain name and get that all sorted, looks all nice and professional. So jump back into the, into the apps and the marketing side of things and we're going to move on to that side now. Okay, so once that's done, then everyone, let's move down into the preferences section. And what we're gonna do is as part of your marketing, we're gonna install and create the title and meta description. This is part of your ram, your SEO, Search Engine Optimization, in, in line with your ram, your store. So I'm gonna show you guys how to create a good title. And the best way to do this is to do a little bit of keyword research. So if you've got a store and you're selling, for example, apparel like we are. What I would do is I would jump into a keyword research tool such as maybe suggest or geek, Google Keyword Planner and do some research around R d. So did wear clothing, apparel online, an ordered select the ones of the good and fair amount at demand and popularity and go live based on that. Now I have got a dedicated course on their own skill share. So if, you know, if you wanna search life, you only need to choose the best keywords for your store. So it's all set up properly in the foundation is correct from the beginning, which I do recommend that police check out our courses not very long as others man hour long, but it'll give you an in-depth in strong knowledge of setting your, your keywords are properly from the very beginning. So you know, when you progress through your store, your shop, new stores selling and you start growing, your foundation will be stalled aid and you'll, you'll get more and more sales as you grow. So that's in skill shares my SEO keyword research cause. And I definitely recommend that one. So just to give an example for this one was we're on air. So I'd probably do something such as this. So by ODEs online. So you want to always go for REM, capitalisation on your own, on your words, it's a boyhood is online. The best and cheapest? Did tops. And then heard apparel where two layers off there. So this is called commons where you can deviate sometimes. And so you can see you need to get into more characters in there. So sometimes what you can do is, is just to play around with it, move it around. So I'm trying to do is I'm trying to get it. So it's essentially perfect. And it's got the, the, the, the brand name in there as well. So it's very, very important for your RAM free branding, et cetera. And you wanna get that on there. So what we've done is if anybody is searching for biodiesel annoying in a purchase or buy the best hoodies or loin. You know, we've got an, a good possibility of getting around Toyota because we've got noise combination of keywords in there. So your meta description, you want to. What do you, it's all sound very, in a very natural, but also the key here is, is to get your keywords in there. So it sounds very, very natural organizational type of description. You don't want it sound like the best buddies in the world, you know, by now. So that's, you know, that's a big no-no. So you don't want to do something like this. You want to do something like at Apparel where we saw the finest material and best cotton to create. Luxurious. We are a specialist in hoodies and we deliver worldwide oil lined with speedy delivery, something, some something like that. So its corner if you've mentioned who you are, what you do, you know what your specialized specialist in. You've got some keywords and now which is very, very important, and a new salary. So when you're carrying careful in the products that you've got which sends a message that customers say that, that you, you know, indirectly you cared for them as well. So yeah, this is noise. Good, good description if you can get a little bit longer to around 250 characters as great. And don't forget there is a limitation on Google's. And so description when you type it in and what it shows on, on Google for example, or show you that right now. So I'll just search for something or in a bike clothes online if I come down here. So I get a sausage. So you can see here that this is the description that they've got and he gets cut off after so many characters, same as this one here. And so, you know, a thing that probably, I mean, what I've typed in here is probably about spot on. So you want to aim for something around. So Y2 and maximum 200 characters in there. It's also very, very good top meta title and description. And this is essentially the bits don't show up on your homepage here and here. So we can see here, for example, a Salzburg complete big brand. And they've actually put there, so brand name right at the start. And when does a good thing to do, you know, so it's misguided here Michael and most iden the same. But what you want to do is once you get it as big as these guys, they're multi, multi-million tell ever companies. You can start to put your brand right at the beginning. But to start off with, I would suggest and highly, highly recommend that you go to your key words at the beginning. And a lot of Denmark MATLAB done here, Law, women's clothing and fashion by aids clothes. So you want to go for some law that to begin with. Okay, so the next thing that we're gonna do is we're going to integrate Google Analytics installed. And I'm going to show you how to do that now. So Google Analytics is a monitoring metrics program. It will show you how many visitors you're getting per, per day, per week, per month and so on and so forth. It will show you what your bounce rates are, where your exit rates are. It'll show you fund owns. It will show you a lot of lot of key data about your website and how to utilize it. How many people are alive on your soil at this time? I mean, Google Analytics coupled with hot draw, all two very, very powerful combinations. So I've already shown you how to install Hot Jar. So we're also gonna solve see goo. It's now. So I'm going to dive in and show you how to do that as well. So let's, let's get straight into Google analytics. So the first thing you're gonna do is you're going to create yourself a Google account. So if you've got Google account already, that's great. But what I would recommend that you do is is to actually create one. And that is an extension of your domain dashes to keep all the everything organ up nicely organized and keep things as simple as that. You don't have to use the exact same domain suffix, but that is just something that I recommend. So back to your analytics, start measuring. So you're joining me or count in there, so okay, and I genuinely opt-out of these to be honest. You know, you can leave them often if you want, is completely up to you. So hit next. So you want to measure for the web and your website next. So just type in the website name, so hood. Okay, just make sure that it's HTTPS there. And then just type in your domain name. So OK, select the industry. It's just too shocking for the moment. And that's still be find command and hit the Create button. Okay, except terms. Okay? And then Google-style kind of setting itself up. Okay? To kick off all the sub, essentially this here is your actual analytics code. This is what you want. So just single click on, right-click Copy, okay, and then jump back into your RAM. Your Shopify dashboard. Hit paste, okay. And then hit save. Okay, so that's, that's been saved now that's our kind of Universal Analytics code in here. Okay, say backend analytics. So I'm not going to go over every single thing in egos bomb just gonna give you a very, very quick overview of the Google Analytics and shade colon, the basic fundamentals of eight. So what you want to do is once you've copied over your code, coming to the bottom left corner and click on this service are in the bottom left. And so real time, sorry, installed behind. So your homepage is cognitive lot your room, your home dashed green and a little similar to Shopify. And it will kind of give you an overview of how many users are currently on the site. Your sessions which are similar to users. Bounce rate is number of people that come onto the site without navigating to any other page, they'll just quickly bounce off or not do too much interaction. So bounce rate, you wanna keep this as low as possible. As I mentioned earlier, ideally, you want to keep it under 45% if he can, under, under that, the lower the better of course. Session duration. But a tongue twister, This is essentially a, the amount of time people spend on your website. So ideally you want, depending how easy it is to, for people to check out or daily, that should be like two to three minutes, under five minutes. But again, it depends our bust your range is how large your Connor product ranges. But you don't want that to be a lawyer, you know, 20 seconds or 30 seconds lower because that would then mean that you'd have a coil high bounce rate your customers on spending long enough on Nesbitt already funding or seeing what they're looking for. So you need to add more text in them or products, more, better images and more useful content more. So you know, you need to do that solving things to him to make them spend a little bit longer on your website. So I think more than checkout and customers pages, this would just give you the number of pages or what pages they visit the most. So you'll be able to see like in a popular products on hands he, which ones are the most popular? At the time it timeOfDay that uses visit, whether it's caught him early morning or late afternoon. So I'll give you an idea. So if you get Conlon large blue areas in here on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday around code of 06:00 PM than you might think. Okay, we're lucky and get that data docker run a promotion at this time because this is when more users are most active or my sewing. So you're straight away, you can get things like that. And that's the whole idea of Google Analytics is to take that data, but not just leave a days to make data driven decisions and say, well, you know, these are the days and times that were populates run a promotion on these days and times. And also you can look at countries and see what your most popular countries are. You can innate changes by law seven days, 30, at 28 days, quarter, so on and so forth. And, you know, you can look at how you, how well you retain your visitors, whether they, they're coming back or not. And so you can do a row of law powerful and useful things in yet. But this is just an overview dashboard if you come onto real-time here. So this ship shows us how many people are currently on our website, what they're doing on that, and you know, how long their spending on what page they're actually posting on there. So this is just a match. This is actually a subtler one visitor at the moment. And this is how long they've been on. This is the actual page that they've been on. So you can see we've we've built on to the checkout page on there. You can see, you know, the location where this user is actually based on the monument. You know, you can pull up, you can pull off reports from Nest as bound column, I see your most popular locations, most popular kind of areas where your current customers are coming from. So if you decide to do some promotion, marketing in specific areas and locations, you know, you can look at the last sort of, you know, 3612 months and so on, more data and say, well, you know, London for example, is a hotspot in a little less Torino. We're getting lots of sales from there. So let's talk in that and run some kind of likes him offline answer as wow, awesome. You know, maybe some Facebook marketing ads in that corner, targeted location in vicinity. So that's very, very useful. Traffic sources, climatology where your traffic is essentially coming from. So this will tell you, you know, similar to kind of traffic inside dual RAM, your audience and acquisition from here, all traffic to this same thing as it revealed on this. Basically it will tell you where that traffic is coming from in terms of social media, whether it's coming from Instagram, Facebook, and you know, be a tick tock or whatever it might be. This we'll call unlist outward on, hey, now you get a lot near not referring soils on there. And it's also show econ light whether it's from Google, Bing, Yahoo, and the mediums as well. So it's very, very useful to see where your best performing sources are. Guba lands, if you're running any Google ads campaigns and you'll get all that information in the soil, the Google dashboard that you can set it up in a way to kind of actually showcase your data in analytics as well. But to be honest, I mean, usually be Google ads or icon of lead that data in Google. Not only looking at data inside Google ads, to be honest, I'm so Search Console Assad does a different piece of software from Google, so we won't go into setting that openness in this particular course. Social media of speed us collect your Facebooks, instagrams, you know, Snapchat tick talking so on behavior yet. So this is quite a good report here on the left. So this allows you to sort of see how your users all behave, behaving on your website. Again, you know how long they're spending. Bounce. Very lucky says on the home screen that has colored the where again, where it pulls out from. And you can call, I see that the number of pages that they're visiting with, a number of pages that they're looking at, exit pages, the pages where they're extinct demos or a clicking the X button. So they're not seeing or finding what they're looking for. I'm an ecologist, tame the eggs that the crossing off button. Or it could be that there might be checking out and crossing off. So you see all that data for India once it's all populated, it's fairly self-explanatory. But if you've got a certain pages with high exit rates, for example, at the homepage. Although all morning to pages like product pages or you believe should be quite popular. And people of color, it's got a high XA rate or a high bounce rate. And then, you know, there is a problem on that page. So what we would then do is so let me just quickly show you or show you an example of that. So let's just jump onto the. A website, I'll show you a real, a real working example of it. So let's go into our catalog. And let's look at this top here. So let, let's just say a customer comes on that they're looking for a blue who did swept up. And they, you know, that this page has got very high bounce rate on there or a very high exit page. So this particular one, the image, because we've only added one images, it is blown out assuring fullscreen. But let us say initial state, this is a real example and I'll give you a real case example. So user comes on and says, oh, well that's a huge image yet great. I can see the product has a bit blurry, but they don't like what they see. What they might do is, I mean, you know, they might solve, hit the X button on top and cross off to school at exit. And all LSA they searched for Blue who did sweat topping Google. And they London on this page. And again, they didn't quite like the look of the page or they thought that the price was too expensive. And it was an insight that budget, maybe the reviews were too low. And then they hit the back button. There. You're never optimum working by the way, exactly how it should be. So thus, the idea of optimum guys organized as a perfect example right there, which shows you, you know, it was about to hit the Back button to bounce off and it's popped up with a 20-40 percent off. So if I was a user on what actually hit that and kind of get the twenty-five percent off without me bouncing back. So it's a good example there of optimum working firsthand. But in so far as to come here, hit the Back button and not necessarily negative, but navigated off the website again back into Google search, that's called a bounce rate. So that's essentially the difference between a balance and an exit. And again, you want to make sure that both of them or, or as low as they can possibly be. And site speed is how fast your website loads. Ideally, you want to aim for like three seconds, 34 seconds and below. And again, the lower the better. That would depend on how well you've compressed your images. How can if while you didn't know side of it and how well you've maintained all Yukon have slight content and your image Soyuz AS just a top tip here and five t time use like an image compressing website was such data such as compressed JPEG online. And you can kind of upload your product images here, compress them and download them, and that will, that will reduce them by over 50% generally. Now how to make your site faster? They're just a top tip, therefore, yea, i k. So that's your site speed covered as wow, songs, searches, what people are researching on, on your website. So products that they might be searching in the actual search bar here. So inside their losses that conversions, so don't worry too much about conversions at this minute in time or they, this is a key, key part Google Analytics. But because you've got a lot of that information inside the analytics, inside shorter foil, just straight out of the box, which is the screen here. This will give you a lot of information based on that already anyway, so you don't need to worry too much about that. So to be honest, going for that for the minute. Thus, I mean, if you want a more in-depth course on analytics, let me know an ox or create one which is 45 minutes to an hour long, rough lay man. I'll give you a detailed insight into setting this all up properly in measuring everything you know to a t and some things are IOUs as well. But I didn't want to focus on more debt Shopify things in this particular course. So the next thing that we wanna do is we want to get our facebook pixel sorted. So let's go ahead and set that up in Facebook as well. So well, we'd like you to do is too far up a new tab and go on to Facebook.com. So one turn Facebook.com guys, come in the upper right-hand side here and click on Manage ads. So you can get to your ads order through here or through business dot facebook.com through the Facebook business manager. So Facebook has updated their dashboard. This is the new style dashboard. So come in the upper left corner, click on Facebook ads to the top left, and then business settings. Click on the Facebook page that you want to make the edits for. Okay, and then it's obviously if you haven't got a Facebook page created already, you'll need to do that first, of course. So on the left-hand side here, commended data sources. On the left click on pixels, and then here click on Add pixel. Ok. So then just laying your, your pixel where whatever you wish. So just wrote apparel. You then want to copy the website address and I'm just going to go back and grab that from Maurya at my stall. Copy that from that. So you've got three options is to do it this way, which is through the powder integration. All money lay. And we're going to take money in, in the circadian because often the low bit easier, it's me waste. And this is a particular code so you can copy it out. But the Facebook ID is the one right there in the center which begins at Wardlaw involved. I'm just gonna zoom in a slowly so you can see it. I would just say that which begins with one 1and Wald on that. So these safety copy that and then paste it into something like Notepad or something, for example. And then this is the code you wanna take has mentioned. So copy this, the FAQ IN IT codec, which is your pixel code. Then jump back into your your Shopify store, come down into your preferences back in there. And then just essentially. Paste that in there and then hit the save button. And that's your Facebook pixel added on there as well. So if you are interested in growing and expanding your sales and store through Facebook, then I have got dedicated Facebook calls on skill share among already details how to maximize your profits using the power of facebook advertising. So do check that out if you're interested in growing your store a lot more with Facebook. So the next thing you can do is if you continue to grow your store is to create some blog posts. So this is an option to do this inside of Shopify. And if you are in a good or writing content and you want to solve, grow, expand your content strategy. So writing blog posts is a good way to do that. And you know, what you wanna do is you is fairly straightforward to sort of create this. He followed the tip, so I kinda recommended illegal and cranial. Your title, your writing, your content in here. And you accept is the, is a text that you see that essentially ISACA snippet a preview text before you actually go into the blog post. So that's your exit texts as basically the text that you see before you actually, you know, logo onto the blog post. Search engine uses the same goal we talked about earlier, the metadata, title and description for it. And thus also your ram, your URL and handle all slug as unknown people called it in there as well. And you can change the author in putting a new section, crates and tags. And obviously making visible or hidden. So you might want to make your head and until I would say you've, you've finished a here, say, then just hit the baseball button and you can create a featured image for it as well. And so blogging is a good way. What I would recommend that you do is, is to do another keyword research and do some Cortana SEA background checks to make sure that you're targeting the right sort of content that's relevant for your industry. So it's just my kind of recommendation that so for example, for this particular store or an apparel worn, you talk about perhaps the latest trending things like ecological materials, eco clothing material, stuff like that, just call and things are kind of trending topic at the moment. You've got opportunity to rank in there. And you want to try and capture email addresses as well. So if you are writing blog posts in it's trying get Yo soy indexed in Google to get more traffic. You want to try and capture email addresses for people. So when they all kind of reading that blog posts that you're making, the uniformity of value. And they say, wow, this was a good read. Yes, I'll subscribe to them. And then that way you can market to those people later through some of the other tips or we're gonna be showing on here as well as blog posts on there. There's a lot more, you know, you can do on here.
11. EMail Marketing with Shopify: Okay, so now that we're familiar with majority of the section here under the online store, we're going to move back into the, into the apps and the marketing side of things guys. So let's jump into cargo, which is your e-mail marketing side of things. So this is one that we installed earlier, and I'm going to show you now how to set this all up properly and how to start creating your, your flows and get that all sorted. So what you can do is once you're logged into the Flavio Dashboard, come onto the left-hand side here and click on flows. So essentially, Claudio gives you flows and triggers for automated email marketing. And essentially is designed to create him grow, you'll store, of course, but it's also to win back customers, to grow loyalty to econ if when people bark, cross ALIP. So, so it's very, very powerful way of really increasing your store. So it's very, very common that in e-commerce and on knowing you'll get a lot of customers, they are Lancome mentioned earlier on around 90%, I'm sorry, near nine or ten people that will come onto your website out won't actually purchase or check how that's just going to have how colleague consumer behavior and how customers in general work across the board. Obviously, some sectors will have slightly higher conversion rates and notice, but majority of it across the board globally, that is kind of the benchmark. So Columbia was a great way to try and win back and stop these people from exiting, bouncing. All kind of, you know, checking out. What you wanna do is so that the one of the most popular ones, as you can see, a climate gives you a multitude of different styles of templates that you can choose so that most of, you know, two or three top go to or the abundant car email process. The customer Thank you. And the cross-sell products as well. So, so we're gonna start with this one, which is probably the biggest one, lens abandoned cars. So abundant car is essentially customers will come through the process. They'll add to me to their basket. And so talking their email address, etc. But they won't quite Checkout. So some of the top ways to actually help eliminate that before you even get to this stage. Obviously, we've already got our optimum and pop-up in intent and X8 popup already built image is going to help you guys a law. And one of the common things on e-commerce is, is that a lot of people, and if they don't see things like, you know, you're shipping, you know, whether your free shipping or whether your card payments, you accept a lot of these things. They will create a high abandon rate on your, on your shopping cart. So what you do want to do is you do want to have things like this displayed on their Jaccard details and the bump right corner here, you do wanna, ideally you want to do. Free shipping and offer that service depending on where you are located in the world and where you ship to as while more importantly. And so just a few top tips here. You wanna make sure that you can offer free shipping, particularly to you Nate, uterine country. And if you're based in the US than us are based in the UK again, so on and so forth. Because free shipping is a big, big incentive for people. Two corner purchase. What you, what you wanna do is you want to obviously put your cost of your shipping in, into your products. So for example, this particular top here, we've got over 20 pounds. So let's say our cost to purchases from US employer is $10. Let's say for example, a ten pound. Our shipping is three pound or $3. And then we make lock a seven pound, a seven pound profit on it. Just as a very, very quick, genuine example. So you won't enshrined in a budget. They say you come ON daily, include your tax, include free shipping in here as well. Because I was a big incentive for people to buy and they don't need to go through the whole checkout process. At the end of it, it says fog knowing, knowing and following Tino in dollars for shipping and dots when people often bound xy and abandon their shopping car does allow, wow, I wasn't expecting to pay an extra 5, $6 on top of that. So that's just a top tip there is just to try and eliminate all those barriers to check out and have all that information on your, on your website clearly, there either in the photo essays on every single page or ideally in the header. I mean, even better would be here. I get 25% off free shipping, US Code 25 OFF. That would actually be a lot better to be honest because allow give them more incentive to actually, to actually boil. So if they do get past that stage where customers are compulsory stage and they're still, they put into their details in the, in the checkout stage, which are in fact or, or show you now. So they've con Lloyd, they've clicked on bite now on this product, they've caught a loaded up live gone into it. They start fitting in that column, that detail. So yeah, so firstName, lastName, address, city, but I've been to their email address and phone number, which you can see here is right at the top. They hit Continue. And then your a will cancel. Shopify will capture the email and phone number because it's right at the top here and the beginning of the first stage checkout. And that's how, you know, SMS bump and Clavey out work their magic. Now some they create the abundant flows. So, so just to recap here, let's just jump back in here. And so what you wanna do is come in Colombia. And he's coming to the right-hand side here, which is at it flooded because we've started the band would call flow already. So this essentially gives you an overview and a layer of kind of how the triggers created to wait time before the email is sent. And the actual email itself. And then a second email after that time phrases can lock a flow process in a stage one, stage 234 and so on. So a trigger is essentially how it, how this whole flow in this whole process is triggered off. And as I said, this is the white period is the Email. And I'm going to show you everything in here, so it's all noise and simple and easy. So essentially the trigger is when someone starts the checkout process as all start-up job just showed you a second ago. And so the way is four hours currently this is what Clavier say outside the box. So I'm going to actually change this law. It is so set this to actually one hour. Because I feel that when four hours is a bit too Logan, I think sometimes people it gives them too long to call him look house where they might get. So I tried to get a little bit busy. So personally, I like to sort of say in a leave an hour, once a term is gone, then hit them with this email. So this is called the email and this is called the core of it that cannot happen. So what you want to do is come down to the email and then just click on it and hit the edit button on the left there. And this is con employed the email that's currently what is set to how it will appear. So obviously we want to change this and I'm gonna show you how to solve that are exactly so what you wanna do is you want to leave it from your brand name in that the from reply to email can be personally email or it can be called info at all, sales at whether you'd prefer really. So. Then move on to the subject. And this is very, very important and it's one of the key things in getting new email open. Does the subject lungs? It's the very, very first thing that a potential customer or potential losing customer, we will say so I've got a little tip here for you. And in fact, what I've got, I've got a template that you guys can actually use completely for a, and I'm just going to show you that now. So the emails of template that we wanna try and following looks a little bit like this. And this is what we're going to try and solve, copy and replicate and Clavey. Oh, so we've got noise Provenge, professional looking template here. So what you want to install with your logo at the top in the center, doing noise powerful discount offer here, an urgency in as a hurry get 25% of your Radha. And these words in fact goes on very, very tailored. In fact, everything from the, from the exclamation model to the percentage amount and contemplate old, old, old days. Including your So studied quite heavily into these headlines and these topics. I'm not researched and 30, what gets you the most impact the highest conversion rates. And you do want something exactly like that because it's got keywords and things like hurry, which cause urgency, get twenty-five percent at 25% is a very, very good amount of the Insha'Allah fits along with your business. The more you can give off the better. And again, make sure it fits along your business model. And your profit margins, ideally then really wanna go less than 25 because people then don't feel is a big enough incentive. 20-25 or libraries called if people aren't ready that team at 22 plus by. And then it's got the where your nourishing it amaze you. And an exclamation mark which Google of protein angle I'm helps to increase action. So definitely follow is summing all these coils is cannot definitely work. You then more noise image of the product that the customer last looked down. I'm going to show you how to pull that dynamically through Kavya. And that's very important because you want to hit them with thing they last looked are already we're interested in Boeing. Now going back to the subject, so low so of legal hack here or low top tip is to RE and then colon. And the reason this is is because it would have painted the customer that this is a replying to two previous emails as a little hack that to call if you know how the open Re, and this one small three red line here is this yours is very, very powerful when it shouldn't be underestimated. In Colombia themselves, customers, I used something like this with a question mark. And they get, they get 60% plus open rates compared to the normal 20-25 percent standard email open rate that users will open. So definitely go for similar these coins is a super, super powerful subject loin and that's really the key to getting that email opened. Don't forget though. We've also got your Omni approach where we've got Facebook and we've got SMS bump, all three working together. And that really is the way in this day and age, the 21st century to call. It, gets people to open up emails to call a boy and grow your stores as a omni approached through different mediums. Bay Facebook BY email, via mobile phone. That already is the winning formula in a power point through social media or bow, you're gonna grow usto. So just jumping back today. So what we're gonna do is just keep a noise thali informal and fairly personal ISO, again, I'm going to put this whole word document included in the column downloads and the discussion on projects sections. So you can download this for free. You can copy, paste, edit, TLC, these Betsy, just swap it out with your own brand name. So all I've done is I've just kept this valley informal and also very personal loans because that is the key for RAM for converting this all important customers. So yes, so he starts off with Haig firstName. And so we've got first name in there, if and then got devoted. This is the kind of script for specifically for Shopify. If the customer hasn't gotten stage with a hamper inlet this name, the default will be friend tollbooths i in if they haven't point that firstName in that screen I just showed you a moment ago on the, on the website, it'll say, hey friend, it's as my hair founder of apparel where I wanted to let you know that you forgot something in your basket. Don't worry, we get a life gets a little hectic and clothing isn't cheap. So here's a token of our general steak. Get 25% off for me personally, TAA. I'll save your exclusive discount for the next couple of hours. Has your personal discount code. You've got the code that should you get any problem is checking now, you can easily back along, be happy to assist you. And then you sign it off with the innocence like Best wishes, corn regards and the noise image and your corner of your soil off here with a picture. So guys, this is really, really perfect because it's show, it's sweet. It's got a personal discount in there. It feels like, you know, it's sent to the customer. So carnegie left, they filled out their nails isolator, Hey, drawn hasty or whatever it might be. And you've introduced yourself, he said you're the founder, you, someone important here from this brand, your branding in the, you know, you've got a disco in a, you said your personal discount code for valine John. You've got the code. And you've also said if they've got problems because they might actually have a technical problem checking up on your website. That might actually be a technical issue on there. So you've covered that as well. All im going over a couple of, a couple of few paragraphs in there. So short, sweet, very, very powerful is going to work super, super. Wow. Say yeah, you'd say guys, you can use this for phrase. So I'm going to show you now how to build this out inside. Claudio says all in there for you as wow. Okay, go. So the first thing we need to do is to far rub a Notepad or TextEdit software and just copy paste the text from the Word document inside that. So the reason why we do this is because Microsoft Word, as great as it is, unfortunately, it does lead hidden characters inside the actual template itself. So you wanna, you were removed. There is often a volume when get those into Notepad and copy paste it over from, let's be honest. So So yes, I'm a glass object lying in there and we're now going to edit the content of the email itself. So we've got the logo at the top followed by our main headline. Okay, so let's edit this. So the first thing that we really need to deal with a steeper in our room. I will now go at the top. So we do just drag the block from the noisy one K B into blocks on the left here, and then add that in there. Okay, and then simply upload your image from your computer. So this will be your logo that we created from the first lesson. The mind's already here, so I'm just going to select my logo and put that in there. As you can see, is quite a large Lego. So I'm gonna come down here and drop down the pixels to roughly 200 pixels and then just center it. So much is our, our Word document in there. So next we've got our heading one, Hurry, get to, you know, get your 25% off. So we've got that in here. So I'm gonna copy that over. And I'm going to use this text here that from Clavey. Oh, I'm just gonna go in there and just paste it in here and then just move that up slightly or both here. So it's just a case of, again that much is that straight away, we then got our product image in there. So like I said, this is called a dynamically pulled. So you can see here that this has already been done forests. So all we need to do is just move this shop known item down. I mean, disloyal hate HR, horizontal rule. You can you can leave that there if you want to or we can remove it entirely up to you all in there just to call us, separate that slightly. You've then got your rent, your dynamic image that the customer last SOPA in their basket so you can taste it all done dynamically through columbia already. So let's just go back onto our design. So we've got hey, firstName. So let's just copy this over. Put it into, into Notepad, and then copy again to copy that. So I'm gonna delete this block here. Just can't get it out of the way. Okay, and then, so we're just gonna come in here and then just command day or control a and paste that in there. So I'm just going to have hay. And then they said this is what we talked about earlier. They come inside here and just copy over our read our text, my Word document. So just copy this over up to there. And we're just going to pop that into the notepad document again to copy again in there and paste. So I'm just going to have a look at our Word document just to make sure the formatting is it. All right, so don't get to change this to a brand name and also a bleed or something else, a clothing LC changed that to your own Paris law product. They you've got that you're doing as well. So to get 25% of a new brand name, what needed to be bold. So it gets twenty-five percent off. I'm going to bold that. So just to control b or deflected up there and into your brand name here. So we do Heard Carroll where in there and I'm just gonna bold this as well because I was good for branding purposes in there. Okay. So we've got that in there. So this is a new text box in there, and I do recommend that rather than putting everything into the same box. So glad noise formatting in there. I believed this was all bold. So we're just gonna come then just bold this as well. And they're Chugani problems. And then what I'm gonna do is I'm just going to duplicate this and we've gone in the box below it a duplicate. And then I'm just going to finish off what we've got in the, in the bottom sections here. So just best wishes and then it's an image there. Okay, so just coming there, paste that in there. And then I'm gonna do another open a duplicate. In fact, all we're gonna do is I'm gonna insert a block and just save that. And I'm gonna put it in an image in fact, and I'm gonna insert it just there. And I'm just going to upload an image of the signature. Okay, something like this and just upload that. And then we've got the signature in there and the car burning. Yes. We're gonna keep that there as well. And that's good practice. I said Once you've done that, just come up here and hit the save button. And that's all been saved knowing can save your content as one in the top right corner. That's almost been saved. So go back and edit. Now. Also at the bottom, a god, you can just edit your social media's. So Facebook, Twitter. And we can add in more buttons. And now you know if you've got Conway different moons and that they were clunky, gives you a selection of colleagues, other ones like Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and YouTube, so on. And so, you know, you can still create days now you can delete them off if you don't want to include them. And then again, just save them can also insert spacing and much, much more distal section and the bottom here, at depending on where you are in the world, most countries you do need for the customer to be able to opt-out of your emails and unsubscribe. So on January as a good rule of thumb on site and leave this and then allow your customers to unsubscribe. And then what you want to integrate won't achieve edit. You'll say shoals. And you want to come over to the left-hand preview. And then what you can do is you can order the premium in Colombia, or you can send it to yourself to an email address of your choice. Or you would recommend doing both. Most id sending the email option. So you can see it firsthand. You know, you remember phone. I'm on a current desktop computer wherever that won't pay. A would suggest looking at viewing it on a mobile phone if you can, because that's where, you know, around colon 80. And plus people now look cleaner emails, etc. So let's just pretty quickly in Colombia and how will it there? So you can see here it says looking pretty, pretty good, that looks quite capable absolve logo there, we've got our headline from that and all that, all this sort of stuff. And it's just jumping back into the into there. So it matches pretty close. Don't forget this dynamically, it will pull up in here. So although we're not seeing it here, the image will pull up a narrower as well. So that looks pretty good there. And I'm happy with that again. Yeah, you can put it through the sand yourself. The email as well, on a premium as well. So just Yes. I mean, if you're happy with that, boys hit the save button. So one thing they do is once you've created your your email is to come to the discounts and just edit the discount that we did earlier. Interesting show that it's for the people that are room actually abandon their shopping carts or show you guys how to do that. So essentially just come to into your discount from the left-hand side here. You remember we shaded this one earlier, creating the twenty-five percent discount off the entire order. You can also set it to none there if you want to. But this is where you need to set the eligibility. So specific groups of customers or click on that, hit the Browse button and you'll see here abandon Checkout. So I just take that option there, hit the Add button and know that this particular 25% off discount now is only for people that abandoning the Checkout. So obvious you set your date so when, when you want to start it and when you want to solve finish it. And you can also see change the code to kind of see fit or, you know, whatever you want to generate the code as twenty-five percent of or, or whatever it might be, k. So hit the save button and that's all, that's all saved on their whole life for you. So that's all your e-mail marketing all finished off. And we're now going to dive back into the next section.
12. SMS Marketing + Facebook Messenger Marketing: Okay everyone, so the next app that we're going to install is our SMS marketing app, which is SMS bump. So I'm gonna keep this section short and sweet and I'm gonna show you how to utilize this to SMS bump works in a similar fashion to the e-mail marketing subclavian which we just talked about. But this is a text messaging and this in my opinion, is a lot more powerful because mobile phones people have them next to them all the time. They're within arm's reach. And SMS's have over 90% open rate in comparison to email, which sits around 20-25 percent. You know, if you utilize SMS, you've gotta drastically increase your stores on auditing some big, big increases in sales with using just their software. So hats off to the developers of this particular software. You know, they've done a fantastic job. So to get started, what the first thing I want you to do is to come down to the settings section here on the left. Come down onto your payments because you don't wanna run out of budget on this. So just get this enabled. So this is your auto recharged service. So at the moment you can currently see it's set to 201000. So what you wanna do is just bump that up slightly to 4020 and it's up to you how much you want to solve. Limit too. So you can sort of set your limit or you know, a hundred, two hundred five or even more. Generally icon right, set this flag to like 500 depending on which store and promoting. But essentially this is call it the maximum that you can spend before you get call it auto recharged. And when you balance falls slowly performative below $20, you'll get it topped at boiler the 40 in there. So if you, if you are running or the campaigns and you wanna keep it, something like this. So you never run out was for credit and you're maximizing your room, your text messages, and to your customers. Okay, so the next thing you can do is once you've got that you're recharged setup is come to the automation section here on the left. Okay, so we're going to set up another abandoned cart service. So this is the one that they've already got set up here. So essentially what you do is just come to the pencil on Edit. Ok, so what we're gonna do is just call this abandoned car. I'm accordingly one just because it's the first the first one on there. Okay. Come down. This is all following. That's all fine. Ok. And then obviously have this enabled. So what you want and set this to is UConn what you delay. So once they abandoned the cart or the same as what we discussed previously, how long before you send the text message to say, Hey, you forgot something in your basket. So again, generally are whites a colloid lead this about an hour or on, or maybe 90 minutes maximum template, you've got your e-mail set to 001 or two hours. And generally you want to solve, set this to somewhere around there. And what we've done is just to make life a little bit easier for you again, or you've added out of created another template for you which you can download for free. So I'm just going to show you that right now. So this is a template that I've created for you. And you can see that it's. And you can call it edit your array, your brand details in here and just tweak this as you see fit. And what I've also done is I've also created a second one for you as well. So you can grab this from the discussions on the project section from skill share down below. And I said it's completely free for you. So RAM. So what we're gonna do is we're just going to copy paste this over. So this is the first one we're going to send after one hour. So I'm just gonna paste it in here and just give it a little bit in between. So what we're gonna do it so where it says insert your brand, we're just going to take him sign name in there. I k a. We can see straight away that we get look a little preview of Milroy Tom Sawyer. Images already cool. And what we can see here that yes, that's going to use two of our counters which is bought on. We just need to add in our stop section in there. So to stop, to opt-out, okay, we've got our URL in there as well. And what we're gonna do is we're just going to add the discount. So there's a pretty cool way to do this through SMS bomb. We can undo discount and what you do is you can solve creative for all clients and, you know, twenty-five percent off through, through there. And you can also actually embed the discount code in the link as well. So if you do it that way, you don't even need to you don't even need to put that. You could just call them, just rip that off. And it's already set up automatically as you saw there on the URL. So we'll kind of look like that. So I wouldn't say get it then you simply click on this door, take them back onto there, and it will apply the twenty-five percent off on the Checkout. So really, really cool. Works really, really well. Once you've done that guys, you know, you see, you can see a equals also has powerful on there. So that's good. You know, it gives you look a little counter system slots, all perfect. Hit the save button. Yet don't forget to call it, edit this. And essentially that's it. You all don't own SMS bump. Just obviously just hit active on there. And that will get us all active digests all don't on SMS bump. So then the next one that we're going to look at is Ricart. So I'm just going to dive in and get this loaded for you. Okay, so recall, boys is super, super easy. Way set. This appears the first thing that you can do is actually connected to your Facebook page. So once you log into recall and you've got the app installed, it'll give you a couple of steps here that would allow you to quickly and easily connected to your Facebook page. So what we wanna do is just make sure you're logged into your Facebook page. And this will give you two very, very easy self-explanatory steps. You just simply connect the store. So launches connected, which then take you about 30 seconds. You'll then see a screen like this under the Home section on the left. And what you wanna do is set up another abundant call message system. Like this. It just click on it here. You then want to sort of create it and hit the, hit the edit button on the right. This is gonna give you a nice preview of what it looks like. So it's very, very easy, very simple. So what you did is you get a, you can do in a high there. So you can come in and kind of edit this as you see fit and write whatever you wish and there. So you can put your name in there or some other details. You can call it move these up and down with them around. You can delete them and you can do it, you know, a lot of simple stuff in here through call it drag-and-drop. Once you're happy with your Kaunas in settings in there. I mean, you can change your schedule here and I'd probably suggest changing desk to kind of maybe probably like three hours. So you could, you don't want to bombard your customers too much with columns and a text messages, emails and Facebook messages as well, because they just going to get an a bit frustrated. They may not just check how at all you could even leave this kind of, you know, 24 hours if you've really already wanted to, purely because leaving a day in college, just United State and take it from there. So, you know, you can do a lot of stuff at the edges, go for whatever you feel is suitable for your business and what have you for your customers will call if you feel comfortable with it. So once that's done, you can send a set locks in the test TSL. As again, literally you're logged into Facebook, hit, hit that button there. And that also will show you a preview enjoyed Facebook, how it will show up to your customer. But it's pretty cool. Your shareholder products, they've left in there, but check our system and it works really, really well. Again, this will probably work slightly better than email marketing. Anything. It's all like get it all sorted through there, just hit the save button. Appear in the top right corner once you're done. That's your room. Recall, all sorted as well. So really, really flowing here, guys, we've got a lot of stuff set up. There's only one or two things left, and you're going to have a fully, fully automated shop front that's going to be working 24-7 with really very powerful marketing behind it. So what are the other powerful ways of gaining a lot of traffic and rather than quality website traffic and sales for your website goals is through Google ads. So Google ads, and just from my experience, and I think it's a little bit more expensive than Facebook ads. So I've ran and Google ads, Facebook ads, Bing ads, all side-by-side in it for various branching, getting, pleading for my own brands. In my opinion, Google ads, although yes, it drives Probably the most qualified and high-quality traffic. It is a little bit more costly and it's not as good for brand awareness then let's say Facebook. And so I'm not really him go too much into Google ads put forth in this particular course. However, I am going to be creating a full Google Ants master class, which is going to be quite extensive, worn in the next sold like him were Next up and coming cores. Yeah, I do follow me in due column. Subscribed to me. So you can call him loyal following my activity. And when you call says I'm going to bring it out and say for the moment we get a call a skip this out. If you do want to sort of try it for this one, I'm not going to really cover it in this cause, otherwise it's just this causes this can get far, far, too long. And it is it is a definitely with living in the long run ironist worth trying it because it is Pay-as-You-Go budget. So you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars a day on a counting unit, dropped out on a limb that down to something like five to $10 a day if you'd really, really wanted to. And so so yes, I'd said, you know, if you're interested in the Facebook site, do check out my Facebook course and on skill share a. But that is the go-to I'd recommend for, you know, for creating your ram, your shop front. Advertising to begin with and create your brand's awareness to get started.
