Teacher

Hi, I'm Sana Asad -- an artist, creative educator, and holistic art therapy facilitator with over 15 years of teaching experience. I'm the founder of Wild About Art Studio in Bahrain, where I guide both children and adults to explore art as a path to self-expression, healing, and emotional well-being.

I specialize in working across all art mediums, but for my own self-care, I'm most drawn to the softness of watercolor and the freedom of mixed media. My teaching blends gentle techniques with soulful reflection, helping you connect to your inner creativity--whether you're a beginner or a lifelong artist.

In addition to teaching, I also conduct holistic art therapy sessions in rehabilitation centers, supporting men in recovery from drug addiction... See full profile

1. Introduction: Hey, everyone. Welcome to this calming watercolor journey inspired by seed of life. One of the most ancient and meaningful geometric patterns symbolizing creation, balance, and growth. In this class, we will explore not only the beauty of symmetry and flow, but also healing energy of circular repetition. Meditative rhythm that quits the mind and connect you back to your inner calm. I'm San Azath founder of Wildbout Art Studio based in Bahrain, artist, art educator, and holistic art therapy practitioner. For this class, you don't need to be perfect with geometry or painting. Through the simple yet powerful design, you will learn how to let watercolor flow naturally, how color blend and bloom, and how to enhance them with depth and shadow for the soft glowing effect. This class is perfect for Bigginer and anyone who wants to explore watercolor as a form of mindful art practice and creative self connection. 2. Material you'll need : For this class, all you need is watercolor paper, 300 GSM, pencil, compass eraser, watercolor paints, round brushes, any size depending how you want your seed of life big or small, tissue paper or towel jar of clean water. 3. Class Project: For your class project, take a moment to download your seed of Life, e book and worksheet from the resources section. Inside, you will find everything you need to create your own painting for self reflection. The drawing steps, watercolor layering guide, and gentle prompts to help you slow down and reconnect. Use the reflection page to write down how you feel during the process. There is no right or wrong way. Just notice what arises, the rhythm of your breathing and the softness in your thought. When you are done, upload your artwork to the project gallery and share your reflection. I love to see your colors, your shapes, and your personal meaning behind them. Remember, this is not just a painting. It's your moment of mindfulness through art. So download your resources, take a brush, and begin your journey with me. 4. Part 1 : Welcome to this mindful watercolor class. Today we will begin with a simple yet powerful geometric pattern, the seed of life. It's one of the most ancient symbol of creation found in nature, art, and sacred architecture. I'll begin with my compass, and I hope you have already downloaded the resources where you can see the step by step guide of drawing of your seed of life or you can trace your seed of life from the template. Each circle represents a stage of growth of energy expanding, connecting and unfolding, just like your own creative journey. You can start placing your compass point at the center of your paper, draw your first circle that represent the beginning. Without changing the compass width, place the point anywhere on the edge of that circle and draw another. You'll start to see shapes appear, almond like intersections, symbolizing balance and harmony. Keep moving around the circle one step at a time, drawing six circles that surrounds the center, forming the seed of life. This rhythm of drawing, repeating, breathing, become a meditation in itself. Before we paint, let's pause. Look at your drawing. It's not just geometry, it's energy. The seed of life teaches us that everything begins from a single point just as all creations start from intention. Now wet the paper within the circles, use clean water, start with light colors, colors which resonates your mood. For me, I'm going with warm tones of ochre, browns, a little bit of green, and going to also add swatches just at the end of the paper. I also got some idea like reference from the Pinterest color mode board. And I really like that as autumn vibe. So I'm going to stick with those colors. Don't control the brush too much. Watch how colors merge and bloom, how water creates harmony all by itself. As you paint, breathe slowly, and notice what's happening inside you. Your breathing slows, your thought softens and you feel connected. Oh So here I am adding little by little, going through the colors which resonate with my mood. And keeping the first layer and second layer still transparent and translucent, which I can still see the base layer of my wet on wet. So this is how you can keep adding. You can choose how many colors you want. You can give different colors, different meanings depending on your mood. For example, green can be hope for me, yellow can be love and so on. So let's see how you are going to connect with your seed of life. And you just completed your first watercolor layer, a layer of calm, flow and presence. Look at how each petal connect to the next, how colors meet color, how water creates balance without effort. This is the language of harmony, both in art and within you. Let your painting dry completely, and in the next part, we will deepen the colors and shadows and bring the seed of life with light and meaning. 5. Part 2 & Thank you for joining. : Welcome back. Now, your seed of life has been dried beautifully. Soft, flowing, full of calm energy. In this lesson, we will explore how to add depth and shadow, but also how to let go the idea that every space needs to be filled. Because sometimes the quit spaces in our art hold the most meaning. To bring depth, start with the same color you used earlier, but now use it less water and more pigment. Never rush to use black. Instead deepen your existing hue first. Layering it gently where the circles overlap or meet. This keep your shadow soft and natural, preserving harmony in your color. If you do choose to add black, do it gradually. Let it whisper, not overpower. Remember, darkness isn't to hide beauty, it exists to reveal it. Once your watercolor layer is dry, now you can use color pencils to refine and soften the shadow edges. Move your color pencil gently along the shape. Barely touching the paper. This add warmth, control, and a whisper of texture without losing the luminous watercolor glow. When I teach watercolor, I remind my students it's not about filling every inch of paper. Art like life needs balance between movement and pause between doing and being, the white spaces are just as sacred as the painted ones. They hold silence. Air and reflection. The part of you that don't need to speak to still be seen. Now your seed of life carries both light and shadow. The story of stillness and flow. I invite you to reflect on what this painting represent for you. Don't forget to download the resources worksheet, use prompts to write about your process. What did you notice? What did you feel, and what did you let go of? Upload your final paintings to the project gallery and share your reflection with our creative community. I'd love to see your work and read how your circles, colors, and pauses helped you reconnect with your calm. Remember, you don't have to fill every space to be whole. Sometime peace lives in the spaces you leave untouched. Last but not least my favorite gold. I love adding gold flashes, abstract line doodles around my mandalas or my circle painting. Even I love shimmer. I'm adding gold ink around and just moving them in circles, lines, itching to create more abstract and loose feeling. Just let it go. I hope you enjoy this course. Don't forget to comment and to share your feedback, and I would love to hear from you, love to see your work until next time, keep creating and take care of yourself. How
