1. 0 Intro: This video, we're going
to learn how to make this design step a step
from scratch. Let's start.
2. 1 Idea and reference: Okay, let's jump straight into
fur shop and let's start. So let me just start by telling you what
we're going to do today. It's going to be like a visual advertising vesual
for an orange juice. The main message I want to
deliver in this vesual is that this orange juice is fresh
and it's simple put shot. I'm just visualizing
the fruit itself. The orange, the water splashes the orange juice bottle
in a fresh, catchy way. That's it. So let's start.
3. 2 Background design: Let's start by creating
a new file, as usual, 1920 by ten, ightB and
then press Create. I wanted to create like a spot effect that is coming
out of the top right. How can we do this? I will start by creating a solid color adjustment
layer into the bottom. And let's choose very
saturated dark color. The reason why I chose this color is that
the orange color, which is the main color,
the orange juice, obviously is complementary
to this teal color. And it gives you
contrast color contrast. Whenever you look
at this design, let's start by putting or
creating the spot effect. And the way I did so is
by bringing this image, Let's make it bigger like this. Then press Enter. And then let's change its
blending mode into screen. And I wanted to
remove these colors because I don't
want the background to be distracting your eye. I will remove the
color by pressing control to bring the
saturation adjustment. And then press Colorize. And let's choose some
teal color like this. Let's make it saturated. And then press Okay. The next step, I'm
going to create a mask using the
soft rounded brush. I will just fade
it from the edges. Like this, very simple. Next, I'm going to increase this spotlight effect by
creating solid color layer. Let's choose some
saturated bright, very bright teal color. Then press okay, and then press control to
invert the mask. At the same time, let's change the blending mode of
this layer into screen. Using the brush,
I am going to use this brush which is
called beam brush. Maybe you can find
it anywhere in the Internet or spotlight
brush or something. This is the brush, let's make it big. It's basically creating
this spotlight effect. Let's shift and press
into the arrows to rotate the brush until
I get the right angle. Let's make the brush very big. Let's put one touch. Of course, this is too much, so let's decrease the flow of the brush and reduce the flow. Let's just rotate it a
little bit to the right. Very nice. Let's see, yeah. Put another touch, another
one and another one. I'm just trying to create like realistic and artistic
at the same time. Spotlight effect, very nice. Now we can remove
some edges using the soft anded brush or
maybe fog brush or whatever. Just fade the edges a
little bit like this. Maybe we can put some final big touch with the soft round,
something like this. Nice. The final thing to create the spotlight effect is
to darken the edges. Let's create a curves
adjustment layer and let's darken it like this. And press control eye
to invert the mask. And using the same soft round, I will just paint over
the edges like this. This will put the
focus in the center of the design that I am going to
put the orange juice on it.
4. 3 Bottle editing & retouching: Very nice. The
background is ready, so let's select all the layers, press control, and let's name it background and
put it into a group. Okay, the next step,
I'm going to bring this image of the orange
juice that I'm going to use. So let's make it big. Choosing the right images
with the right quality, at the highest
quality you can get. And at the same time
with a dynamic lighting. As you can see right now, there are some good
reflections of light here, some good shadows right here. The quality of the
image is very good. Try to get the best image
you can from the Internet. Let's go to Select Object. And we can select it with the select object and see if
it gives us good results. That's going to be fine. If it doesn't, we should
select it using the pen tool. Let's create a mask,
and let's check it. I guess this is good. Maybe it needs some refinement because the edges is
not sharp enough. And in this type of
advertising, commercials, you need to have
the highest quality that you can get, ever. Sharp edges. Very high
quality elements. All right, let's go
to Select and Mask. Let's go to maybe contrast. Increase the contrast
of the edges. This will I guess, remove the soft edges. Increasing the contrast. We'll remove the soft edges. Maybe we can father it a little bit and increase the contrast. Let's see, that's very nice. Maybe we can shift the
edges a little bit inside. And that's very nice press. Okay, and we are good to go. Now let's make it bigger.
Something like this. Because it is the
focal point and it should be the
priority into your Vdu. Now let's bring a
label for this bottle. Of course it will not
be like this for this, I've just brought this demo one. You can use whatever the
brand you're doing for. This is just a demo one. Downloaded it from a
stock image website. How can I blend it
into the background? I will firstly
duplicate the layer and then hide this
one, the top one. Into the bottom one. I will change its blending
mood into multiply. It's now blended and
it looks very nice. But of course, the
highlights now are removed. Let's get the top one, and let's create a mask. And using the soft nd brush, I am going to decrease
the flow of the brush. Then let's remove or mask these parts that
are in the shadows. Simple as this. Now it looks very nice. Let's put everything
here into a group. Let's convert it into a
smart object. Very nice. Now let's press
control and rotate it to match the
direction and the flow, the rhythm of the lights
coming from the top right. Let's just rotate it to
match its orientation. Very cool. Now
it's time to paint light and shadow
into this bottle. Let's start by firstly
putting it into a group, and let's name it bottle. The first thing, I will create
a curves adjustment layer. Let's make everything darker and more contrasty, like this. Let's create a clipping mask. This layer I will use
to create the shadow, the basic shadows the light
is coming from the top right. These parts should be shadows. And whenever you're doing
some commercials like this, when you shift colors from
the yellows to the shadows, try to shift it into this way. Don't just go from orange
into this dark orange. This looks so bad. And the way I like to do it is to shift this
yellow into more orange, reddish color like this. And start to make the shadows with this
orangey color and this. And then try to make
it more reddish. This is the gradient that I'm going to use into
creating shadows. Maybe at last we can just decrease it and
paint shadows like this. So start from yellows
and go to oranges. And redds don't just go
straight into the dark blues. Okay, So that's what we
are going to do now, and that's why I used curves. So I will paint with
the soft orangedprush, I will paint into the mask
of the curves like this. And it gives me the same results that I was talking about as you
can see right now. Very, very nice. Let's see, here is before and
here is after. Another thing I like to do is to create the core shadow
and the rem lights. What is core shadow? It's basically the darkest
shadow in an element. For example, here is an object, the light is coming
from the right. You should have some highlights here and at the same time,
shadows right there. But sometimes the light is bouncing into the walls
or the surroundings, the environment, and then get
back to the object again. This creates some m
lights right here. And the darkest point in the element will
be at this part. Okay, this part should
be the darkest part of the element because it has the lowest value of
light reflected. Bunch of technical information. But let's just do it. I will do this using another
curves adjustment layer. But at this time I will
make it of course, dark. But I will change its
blending mood into luminosity because the color is
getting very saturated. So let's press control
eye to invert the mask. And I will simply
paint over this area. And you can notice it right here as you can see this edge. This is the core shadow. Okay, we can do this
using maybe pin tool. I will select this area. After selecting it,
I'll just press control enter to convert it
into a selection. And then using the
soft turned approach, I will just paint over here. Very nice. Let's see,
that's too much. Maybe we can shift it to
the left a little bit. Maybe we can feather it
using the mask options. I will feather it like this. Very nice. That looks cool
and it gives me volume. Okay, very nice. Now let's care about
the highlights. For the highlights,
I will just keep these highlights
that are already embedded into the
image of the bottle. Can you see these highlights? It looks very nice and I don't want to lose this information. So how can we extract this information out
of the image itself? I will do this by simply
going to the layer, going to select and color range. From here, I will just go
and select Highlights. This will select the
highlights of the image, and then let's increase
the fussiness. Maybe increase, decrease the
range, something like this. And then press okay. And see. Yeah. Then we can press control J
to duplicate this. And let's make it
into a clipping mask. And let's put it
above everything, and let's change its
blending mood into screen. As you can see, it created
these maximum highlights. But I don't like how it looks right now because
it's very high. Let's reduce the opacity. Let's create a mask. And mask some parts. Okay, maybe we can mask
these areas into the edge. Let's increase the opacity. And let's fade these parts. Because I don't
want the highlights to be like exploding like this. I just want it to be shiny. That's it, Let's see, before, after,
before, and after. Very subtle. Very nice. Let's decrease the opacity.
And we are good to go.
5. 4 Adding realistic water droplets: The next step, I'm
going to add an element that will add freshness
to this bottle, which will be these
water droplets. So let's put it right here. The main thing I
want to avoid here specifically is to create
flat droplets of water. And you can see this everywhere
in the Amio designs. Okay, so I want to avoid this. How can I create like three D bottle or three
D bubble of water? The water bubble consists of
highlights and some shadows. That is exactly what I want
to keep in this point. I don't want these grays. Okay, let's start by trying to extract this information
out of this image. I will start by
extracting the shadows by simply going to
the blending mode. And let's make it multiply. I will keep on the highest
or the darkest parts. How can we do this?
By simply bringing the levels or maybe
the curves adjustment. I'll press control M to
bring the curves adjustment. Let's try to get
rid of these darks. I will increase the
darkness of the darks, and at the same time I will increase the brightness
of the grays, which will keep only the
dark pixels Very nice, because the blending mode of
the layer is now multiply. That's good enough for
me. Then press okay. At the same time, I'm going to control J to
duplicate the layer. And let's change its
blending mode into screen. And then let's go to
the curves adjustment, and let's try to
do the opposite. I will try to open
up the shadows, or try to make the dark
pixels very bright, and at the same time try to make the grays into dark
pixels like this. That's how we can
keep only the bright pixels because the blending
mood of this layer is. Screen then press
okay, one final thing. We can shift the colors
of this shadow layer, this one by simply pressing
control to shift its colors. And maybe we can colorize it. Maybe we can give
it some orangey, reddish color. Increase
the saturation. Not that much. We're
good to go. Then press. Okay, yeah, we have some
ultra realistic bubbles. Very nice. Let's create clipping
mask for these bubbles. Next, we can duplicate
this part by simply selecting
these two images. By pressing, I can duplicate
it and put it right here. We can feed the edges as well. Let's start trying
to feed these edges. I'll fed it this layer
and then we'll duplicate the selection or the
mask by pressing out and dragging this
mask to this layer. And we can also erase the
edges from the top one.
6. 5 Blending oranges: Very nice. Now, let's
bring the next element, which will be the orange. For this, I brought this image, it looks very fresh, and this water bubbles into
it is what we already need. Let's bring it and
put it right here. Let's make it a little
bit right quick. Flip it horizontally to
match the light direction. We're good to go,
let's just select it using the object
selection tool. Let's see, Let's put it
into a separate group. And let's name it cross control. And let's put it here. I can see that the saturation of this orange is very
reddish and very high. We can reduce the
saturation or even shift this red color into more yellowish orange color
by the selective color. Let's go to selective color. Let's clip it to the orange. Let's go to the Reds. Basically, selective
color is selecting specific color and playing
around with its combinations. In this reddish tones, I will add cans, which will decrease the reds. At the same time,
we'll add some greens, which will make it more
orange so you can see. And maybe we can add
some yellows and we can as well
decrease its contrast. Here is before and
here is a, or after. This is better for our visual and it's matching
in a better way. Let's start by blending
this orange into our scene. I will basically put
light and shadow. That's it, but
it's a bit tricky. Let's focus on how
can we do this. First thing, let's analyze, the light is coming
from the top. We should have some
light over here, some lights over this area, and some shadows over there. If we want to make the effect that this orange
is touching the bottle, we need to create
shadows right here. Okay, so let's start. I will start by
creating a new layer. Let's start by creating the
shadow of the orange itself. I'll do this by choose, change the blending of
the layer into multiply. And let's clip it. And I will keep picking
the color from the orange. Let's pick this color. And when I paint with multiply, blending mood into the layer, the color itself will be turned
into shadow color. Okay. At the same time, let's bring some dark, desaturated color. And let's put it and
draw with it like this. That's very nice if you can make the brush bigger
and paint like this, and see where is before, and here is after,
it's very saturated. Let's just press control and reduce the saturation
of this color. And maybe make it a
little bit bright. Yeah. And press. Okay. And very nice. Now let's paint the
shadow into the bottle. I will create a new
layer below the orange. I will start by the
contact shadow, which is the shadow resulting from two objects
touching each other. I will simply with the same
color that we took here. I will change the blending
mode of the layer and to multiply because we want the shadow to
have some color. Okay, and then let's paint the
shadow, creasing the flow. And let's paint the shadow over the touching parts, the orange. So this is basically the
context chat. That's it. Next we can create
another layer, changing the blending
mode into multiply. And let's paint the main shadow, which will be a
little bit taller. Let's make the brush bigger. And let's paint the
shadow right here. Let's see, let's make
the brush bigger. And to be something like this, we can now try to erase or mask this shadow
by creating a mask. And using the black and white, we can mask it as we want. This is basically the
way I'm painting shadow. This context shadow
is very dark. Let's make it a bit brighter. Let's see, we can mask
this part as well. The light will be hitting this part and it will
gradually be faded like this. We can go for the main image of the orange, the main shadow, and then we can make it a little bit darker
or tweak it as we want. I will just make these
parts darker and we'll make the brush bigger and then
try to paint the shadow. If you want to know how to draw light and shadow precisely, I have a full tutorial for this. You will find it into the
link in the description. Next we are going to
make the highlights. For this, I will
use a solid color. This time some orange,
y, bright color. And change its blending
mode into screen. And let's clip it to the layer. And then press control
to invert the mask. And using the brush, I can paint the lights,
decrease the flow. I can paint light
softly like this. We can paint some soft
lights here as well. This part the same time. Let's remove this from the
shadow part from here. Let's see here as before. And here is a before and after. Now, let's bring another
element, another orange. Let's bring this one. It's basically the same process
again and again trying to add some freshness into the
design using this image. Let's select the orange. We will do the same thing. Let's put it right here. I will only use this part and the green leaves
part at the right. That's it. It's basically the same process, the painting light and shadow. Let's start by painting the
shadows over this area. Next, I can maybe use curves
to create the highlights, Some subtle
highlights like this. Next, I will bring another
copy of this orange, but with different orientation. I guess you got the point. Maybe we can choose this one.
7. 6 adding water splashes: Now we can add another element to add
freshness to the visual, which will be some
water droplets. For this, I used
these water splashes. Let's bring one of them. Press Enter, And let's change its blending
wood into screen. Another thing I would
like to do is to change its color into more of
a canis, teal color. Let's press Control you to change its color
and go to Colorize. Let's choose this color. Maybe increase the
saturation a little bit. Then press okay. And now I will try to match the orientation of
the water splash. The water splash is
coming from here. It should be in this flow. Okay, And the same thing here. Let's try it. I will use the worp, but firstly, let's make
another copy from it. Let's hide it for now because
we will use it later. Let's start by putting water
splashes into this part, and then let's use the Wp to
warp it around the bottle. Maybe we can erase
some parts from here, because this is too much.
Let's create a mask. Using the solid,
hard rounded brush, we can erase some
of these splashes. Let's bring the other one. This one, maybe we can create
another copy and hide it. Now we can press control and warp it around
the bottle itself. Let's start by creating a mask. Using the solid, hard, rounded brush, I can
remove all these splashes.
8. 7 Glow effects: Okay, that's nice. Now the next step, I'm going to create
light and glow effects. Some final effects that
will boost your design. Let's start by
creating this color or light effect that is
resulting from the spotlight. I will just select this area. Using the soft ended, I will create a new layer. Let's pick this color and change its blending
mood into screen. Now we can create some
light beams like this. Let's put this behind
everything into the background. Let's go to filter and blur
gallery And feel the blue. I will just blur it. Let's put one point
right here and blur it so much.
Another one here. It should be a little bit sharp, something like this. Very nice. Maybe we can increase it
here. And then press okay. Of course, this is too much. So let's reduce it like this. I love how it looks. Let's bring another one. Put it the bottom. The next step, I'll try to
create like glow effects. At the top of everything, I will create a solid
color adjustment layer, but at this time it will be
in orange saturated one. Let's press, okay, let's change its blending
wood into screen. Then press control eye to invert mask using the
softer ended brush. With a very low
flow of the brush, I can put some touches to
create like cool glowy effect. Maybe we can decrease the saturation of this
color a little bit. Maybe make it a little
bit more orangey. Yeah, this is going
to be better. Change the brush shape to match size or the
shape of the bottle. Then let's put some touches
into the outer edge, some very subtle touches. Thing like this,
Maybe here as well. Let's try here. Here
is before and after. We should remove it
from some parts. Next we can bring the
same image we got here. We can take some parts like
this part. Let's select it. Put this right here. Put, make it a little bit big. We can then right click, convert it into a smart object. And let's go to Filter Blur
Gallery and maybe Path blur. Of course, it should
be in shadows. Let's put it into a group. Let's create a new layer,
create clipping mask. Change the blending
wood into multiply and using the brush I
can make it darker.
9. 8 Final touches: Finally, we can put
one final touch. I will bring this layer
again. Let's make it big. Huge, like this rotated. And let's change its
blending mode into screen. We can create mask press control to invert the mask Using
the soft turned push, I can paint over some
areas like this. Very subtle touches. Finally, let's put the text, change color into white. Let's make it big.
Put it right here. Finally, we can
create a new layer. Put control shift E to bring
everything into a new layer. And right click convert
it into a smart object. And let's go to filter
and camera roll filter. From here we can enhance
the image in a better way. Let's increase the
contrast a little bit in, let's make the exposure
leave it as is. Maybe we can increase the hell lights dark open of the shadows. What about the whites?
Let's remove them. Or reduce them and
decrease the blacks. Let's go to color. Maybe we can
increase saturation. Go to effects,
increase the texture, increase the clarity, and we can make some final
tineting effect. I guess, no, I don't
like how it looks. Maybe we can go to details,
increase the sharpness. Let's see, before and after. Maybe it's very bright, so let's go to the highlights and reduce them a little bit. And finally, let's
go to calibration. Maybe we can shift the colors
more towards the reddits. Then press Okay, here's
the final result. Here is before,
and here is after.
