1. Welcome to the course!: Hello, my name is Christine and welcome to a new Procreate illustration course. In this course, you will learn how to create a beautiful and simple landscape layering the couple of plants and trees in a wonderful warm sunset light, you will receive all the guidance and encouragement to create your own beautiful landscape. The only things you need for this course are the iPad, the apple pen, and the procreate app. If you want to learn more about how to express yourself through digital illustrations, let's get into this course. 2. Sky and Ground: For this illustration, you will need to create a canvas that has 4000 by 4000 pixels. This will give you 12 beautiful layers to work with. Going on the background, you will find a color palette named landscape in the project resource page, as well as the unknown brush, which is used in this course. Now you can go on to the layers. Click on the background, select the light, greenish blue in the corner to make the background this beautiful light hue of blue. Once you select the background color, you can go and create the first layer, and then you will go on to the color palette and select a beautiful yellow, the second yellow, right next to the white. Then you can start drawing a line. This will be the horizon line. After that, grab the color from the top right corner and drag it to the lower side of the line. Once you've dropped the color, you can go onto the white color at the bottom and start drawing, increasing the size of the brush and lowering the flow as well. From the middle of the landscape, you will draw a couple of lines. Some beautiful lines indicating some beautiful and light clouds and one more just above them. And one on the right going outside of the canvas. Then you will start modelling a little the color of the sky. So you will click on the selection tool and select the sky. Once you've selected the sky, you will go onto the spray paints and select the medium nozzle. Then you will lower the flow and increase the size in order to create a beautiful gradient at the bottom of the sky. Once you have done that, you can brush just a little bit of white at the bottom of the sky, creating a beautiful gradient. Then you will go on to the selection tool and select the ground. Then you can go to the color palette and choose a lighter yellow color and start drawing a gradient. So it is lighter where it meets the sky. You can undo the selection. Now. You'll want to make a beautiful little hill on the back of the ground. You will do that by clicking back on the selection tool and move your pencil to the right in order to select all of the sky, you can go back into the brushes and select the brush. Then you will select a beautiful light green, increase the size of the brush, and then lower the flow just a little bit. Then you can draw a beautiful arc going from the left side to the right. Now you can select it with the automatic tool, selecting just the heel. Now you will go into a darker color. And with the spray paint, the medium nozzle start applying at the base. Some of this darker color. Decrease the flow, decrease the size. And just drawing at the base of the hill, Living on the top just a bit of the green from before. Then you will want to give the top of the sky just a little bit of a darker color. Click on the selection tool to select the sky. Go into the light blue fans, start drawing on the top just a few passes of this darker color. Going with the brush a little bit faster to create a beautiful gradient, making it lighter at the bottom, just a little bit darker at the top. Look at how simple and gorges it starts to look. And there you go with the simple first step. 3. The bushes: For this step, you will create some beautiful brushes. You will start by creating another layer. Go onto the brush, select the hormone brush from the inking. Then you will decrease the size, increase the flow, and then you can go onto a beautiful darker green. Starting to outline the first brush. You will firstly draw the bottom of it and then add to the top of it for curves, just making them of different sizes and in different directions. Then you will drag the color from the top corner to quickly field is formed. Then you will want to start adding a couple of highlights on the brush. So you will firstly zoom in a little bit, click on the selection tool and select it. Then you will go and select the brush and a lighter hue of green. Then you will make sure the brush is wide enough to add a couple of lights stripes. Now you will add to the left side of the curves a couple of lines to suggest the fact that the light source is in the left side. Now you can go to the color palette and select a light brown and decreasing the size of the brush, you can go and add a couple of thin branches on the bottom of the brush. So easy to do, just a couple of lines directed to words, the curves. Then you will want to go back to the color palette and select the lightest orange. With this orange, you can start to add some fruits to the little brush that the first Bush is finished, you can start creating the next one. So you will firstly add another layer, zoom out a little bit, and going on the color palette, pick a darker green. With this dark green, you will go to the right side of the first Bush and start shaping the second one with the bottom of it and then create a couple of curves. Then you will grab the green color from the corner and drag it into the shape. Now, you can start adding to this one to a couple of highlights. Then you will go to the selection tool and select the last shrub. Now that is selected, you can add highlights on its margins without crossing its contour. You can make the highlights as diverse as you want, as long as you make them similar to the shape of the curves, fill in the gaps on the top side, as well as add another beautiful small line above the bigger one on the right side and one more below it to more beautiful lines on the left side. After you have finished highlighting the last brush, you can go and create one more layer for one more beautiful brush. Then you can go and select the darkest green color. With this color, you will zoom on the left side and start making the third bush with foreign nice curves. Then you can drag the dark color from the top right corner of the panel and then pick a light green. Then you will zoom in a little bit, go into the layer and alpha lock the layer, adding the highlights on the top of the curves, just going a little bit inside to create that illusion that has beautiful round shapes. Draw some small, beautiful lines on the left side, like a couple of stripes, creating some texture. Go to the color palette and choose the yellow from the right, and start drawing some beautiful circles onto the green light part. Then you will go to the layers and drag last layer underneath the other brushes, just make it seem like it's behind it. Then you will add one more beautiful layer for the last brush, select a lighter green, yellow from the color palette. And then you can start with a beautiful line on the bottom. And then going with some curves. A small one, a big one, and then a very, very small one on the left, drag and drop the color on the form, going to a lighter brown and then decrease the size of the brush just a little bit. Now you can go on the selection tool, select the brush. Then you will decrease the size a little bit more. And then you can start to add some beautiful branches on this brush as well, some beautiful and very thin branches leaving from the bottom of the brush. You can divide them a little bit more to make them more diverse. Then you can go on scrapings, medium nozzle, and then you can select a darker green. You can start by creating some textures at the bottom, going a little bit inside as well, but still keeping it to the bottom. Select a darker green and start a little bit more at the bottom on the lower side. Now that the last Bosch is done, you will drag the layer behind the other brush, just so it looks nicer. Now you can go to the layer, click on the selection tool, select all the brush by dragging the pencil to the right. This will make a selection of the entire brush. Now you can go on to the lightest yellow and start adding some highlights on the top of the bush. This will create a little bit more diversity to the brushes. There are so many ways you can create different beautiful textures and play with lied to obtain wonderful ambient effects. And there you go with this wonderful step. And let's get into the next one. 4. Foreground : And this time, you will create some foreground brushes to give your illustrations a sense of immersion into the landscape. For this, you will want to duplicate the last layer. Once you've created the layer, you will move it, selecting it with the move tool, and you'll grab the brush and move it to the left with the uniform selection. After you have made it a little bigger and flip it horizontally, you can move it to the left corner. Then you can click on the small green that to rotated to the right just a little bit. Once you've done that, you can zoom in a little and start to see better the corner in which you are working, you can move it a little bit closer to the corner. Now, it looks wonderful. Make it a little bit bigger and position it just a little bit more to the right side. Once you've done that, you can go on to the hue, saturation and brightness. Gone to the brightness, taking the bus a little bit darker and change the color just a tiny bit, decrease the saturation a little bit to about 40 percent. And once you've done that, you will now have some foreground foliage. Now you can go on to the move, to move it a little bit more to the left so it has a little bit more distance from the others. Now you can undo the Move tool. Then you will go into the layers and duplicate the fifth layer, the one with the lightest brush. Now you can click on the Move tool and move it to the right corner. You can flip it horizontally to make it look different and move it to the lower right corner, then you can increase the size of it, dragging it to the left so it can seem a little more bigger. This will be done with distort too, so it can be more visible. You want to change the color of it just a little bit. So you will go to Effects, hue saturation and brightness on the layer and make it a little bit more saturated to about 71%, change the hue towards the yellow and also the brightness to about 45 percent. Once you've done that, click on the Move tool and move it a little bit lower to the bottom right so you can leave more space between the Bosch from the top right. Now that all the brushes are done, you can go into the layers and merge all the brushes so you can have more spare layers and have a literal order into them. Now continuing, adding details to the front, you can go and add another layer for the next layer of foliage. So selecting the newly created layer, inking and the Armen brush. Now you will go to the pellet and pick the third green from the right, this beautiful bright green. After that, you can increase the size of the brush a little bit and zoom in on the right corner. Now you can start adding a beautiful curve and the right corner and with a circle at the end, fill the circle and the three upside-down teardrop shaped leaves. Once you've done that, you can go ahead and create another beautiful curved line and going down another teardrop on the lower side or bigger one on the top. And after that, you can start to drop in the green color, dragging it from the top right corner, you will now have two beautiful branches of leaves. After they are done, you can go to the layers, swipe the layer with the branches to the left and duplicate it. Once it's duplicated, you can click on the Move Tool, zoom out a little bit and move the branches to the left side. Then you will flip them horizontally, make them a little bit bigger with the distort tool. Now selecting the wrap to distort the corners just a little bit, just to make the shapes a tiny bit more different than the ones from the right side. So it doesn't look like they're the same or that they are cloned. Once you've done that, you can go ahead and click on the orange and start dropping it over the shapes. Now you have two beautiful branches that are orange. Click on the Move tool and on the uniform and move them to the left corner. Now you'll prepare to give the leafy branches a couple of highlights. Firstly, you will have to go on the layer with the branches and merge them down. Now you will click on the brushes and select the medium nozzle from the spray paints. Click on the layers, alpha lock layer. And with this beautiful yellow, you can start to draw in just some beautiful highlights over these branches. Just add the bottom, creating some differences and colors with just a few touches. So he can create a bit more diversity. Going to a lighter green and start adding some highlights on the right branches just over there at the top of the edges on the leaves. So there you go with another beautiful step. 5. The Tree: In this step, you will create a beautiful tree just between the beautiful brushes. So you will firstly create a new layer. After that, you will go into the brushes, inking and select the brush. You will now go onto the palette and select the dark brown from the left. You can move to the middle and culture the left side of the tree from the bottom with a curved line just like a reverse S-shape. After that, you can go to the right and mirror the line from the left. Then you can close the form on the bottom with a curve. After the forum is closed. At the bottom, you can start to add the first branch on the right side of the tree, add another line at the bottom of it to give it a little bit of thickness and another branch on the bottom of its end. Then you can go to the left side of the tree, a little bit lower than the one from the right. And add another beautiful branch 2 is going up. Now you will go to the top of the tree and close the form. Then you can grab the brown from the corner and added to the trunk. Now you will add another branch to the left side with two little branches on the top of it, and then add another branch to the right side and one more little branch just below it. Now. And the branch from the bottom left with two nights thin and short lines. Now that the main form of the tree is finished, you can go into the colors and pick the yellow for some highlights. Before adding them to the tree, you will want to alpha lock the layer so you can freely work only on the shape of the tree. Once you have alpha lock the layer, you will go to the brushes and from the spray Bain speak the medium nozzle. Firstly, you will want to decrease the size and the flow and then start adding a beautiful highlight on the left side from the middle and going down, adding just a golden highlight to the curves. The tree nicely following the way the tree is changing directions. You will go on the branches as well, on the left side, continuing to move up to the end of the tree and then give it a little bit of a highlight to the branches on the right and the left. Now that you've placed the highlights, you can move the tree behind the brushes by dragging the layer below the one of the brushes. Once you have done that, you can go ahead and create another beautiful layer. Then you will go into the colors and pick a beautiful light green. Then you can go into the brushes and select the brush from the inking before starting to shape the falling edge of the tree, you will want to make the brush the maximum size. Then you can start to create the falling edge of the tree with some beautiful curves living from the bottom right side and moving them with a wide curve close to the branches. You can go over the branches, try to vary the shapes in order to create some interesting variations and some interesting shapes. Now you will move to the top and create two big white curves just to vary the shape a little bit. Once that is done, you can drop in the color and then go into the medium nozzle and modify the brightness of this green, making it a little bit more darker so it can add it to the bottom of the foliage to create some shadows. Before that, you will want to alpha lock the layer and add some of this darker green on the bottom of the shape going towards the middle. Once you've done that, you can grab the layer and drop it underneath the branches. After that, you will go ahead and select a lighter green and start highlighting the left side of the foliage a little on the top. Then you will decrease the size of the brush and increase the flow. Start adding some more highlights, highlights at the top. And in-between those curves. Just move around and add a couple of more highlights in the sports where the little curves are meeting and moving a little bit lower just to create a little bit of an interesting texture. And there you go with this step as well. 6. Tree highlights: For this step, you will need to create, of course, another layer, going to inking and selecting the hormone brush. And with the size at almost a 100 percent, you can start to create some shapes at the top of the tree, just going over the branches with some squiggly lines, you can go outside of the shape, creating some more interesting curves. And then going for another shape just on the right, then you will move to the left and create another smaller shape, some more variations on the top shape. And then you can drop in colors. So in a little bit just to fill those gaps. Once you've done that, if there are some spaces where you need to add some more, adding two smaller forms for the lower part. After this is done, you can go on the rap too and start playing around a little bit with the tree shape position, just making it a bit more interesting. Make them a little bit more interesting with the wrap tool. Once you have done that, you can zoom in a little bit and start adding some more circles. Just making those shapes a lot more interesting. Breaking down those edges. And another one on the right side, just here and there, just making another shape just over the straight line of the shape on the left side. Another shape just over the straight line of the shape on the left side, and one more on the top right side. After that, moved to the layers and alpha lock this layer so you can add to it some highlights. Going to a beautiful yellow from the color palette, going to the spray paints, medium nozzle, and start adding some beautiful highlights, increasing the size and decreasing the flow of the brush. Start adding some highlights to the top left side of the shapes. As you can see, is such a beautiful and golden highlight. Touch up a little bit of the right shape. Going to the left, dropping some more highlights here and there to make the shapes look a lot more interesting. Zoom out to see how it looks, and then add some more highlights wherever you feel like it needs to have a little bit more color, going to a darker green and add it to the bottom of the shapes, just creating a little bit of variation, gone to the first shape of the tree, makes sure the Alpha Lock is on them, then go into a lighter green color. Just adding some highlights on the left side to blend the shapes. And on the right side and in the middle just to blend a little bit and make it seem like it's part of the same tree. Look how wonderful it looks. And there you go with this beautiful step. 7. The Lightpole: And here you go with the last step, merge down the layers of the tree together, keeping everything tidy as well as the bushes. Then you can create a new beautiful layer for a beautiful light pole. Then you can go into the darker screen and starting with the inking brush, the brush start creating a beautiful straight line on the right side of the tree, just behind it. Hold the pencil down until it snaps into place and creates a straight line. Once you've done that, zoom in a little bit, added the shape, making it a little bit more straight. Now you can create another straight line onto the right side just to give it a little bit more thickness, edit the shape, make it a little bit longer and straight, close down the top gap as well as the bottom gap and drop in the color, start erasing some of the imperfections, making the bottom curved and the tops trait. Now you will want to zoom in quite a bit. Can lower the brush size and start creating a beautiful trapeze at the top, filling its form with this dark color. Then add vertical thick line on the top of the trapeze. And then a horizontal line on the top of the line. You'll want to add three lines. The ones from the sides going outward, moving up, you will want to add on the top of the lines a little roof with the end's going upward and then going higher. You will add two more lines, meeting them in the middle. Now, drag the color in the triangle formed at the top there that the drawing of the pole is done. You can go into the colors and select the light, yellow from the left side, lower the flow, and then drag the color inside the lantern from the top. Once you've done that, you can go onto the selection to select the two yellows with the automatic pick the orange color palette, select the medium nozzle from the brushes, and add some beautiful orange in the middle of the light. Now that the poll is done, you can make some adjustments because it looks kind of big at the top. So you will go to the selection to select a free hand and create a circle around the top of the light post, and then click on the Move tool on the left side and just make it a tiny bit smaller just so it doesn't look that big. Look at how beautiful it looks when it's smaller. Now you can go into a lighter blue and then select the inking brush. After that, you can go on to the selection tool and select the poll with automatic. And then you will go on the brush once again and drawing straight line, holding the pencil down. And when it snaps into place, you can go into the Edit Shape and drag it to the left side, creating the highlight for the poll. And there you go with this beautiful illustration. Thank you for taking this course. Share your creation on the project page of this course and see you on the next one.
