About This Class

If you have joined my first POSCA class, you know that I love making small art using POSCA markers. I love the rich and vibrant colours of POSCA Markers. They make my art really bright and fun. POSCA Markers contain high quality water-based acrylic paint. The paint is highly opaque, quick drying and blendable when wet. What I love about POSCA markers is how easy to use them. I can just use them as they are. I can paint quickly to make something fun and relaxing and I don’t need to put a lot of time and energy. With just my tiny sketchbook and a few POSCA markers, I can create an art to satisfy my creative self.

In this class, we will create a small art using POSCA markers on our Sketchbook or on any paper. We only need a piece of paper and some POSCA markers.

By the end of this class, you have created a small beautiful art that hopefully will inspire you to begin your journey of creating more art using POSCA markers.

1. Introduction: Hi, I'm Elaine Vitikainen. I'm an illustrator and an entrepreneur from Helsinki. If you have joined my first POSCA class, you know that I love making small art using POSCA markers. I love the rich and vibrant colors of POSCA markers. They make my art really bright and fun. POSCA markers contain high quality water based acrylic paint. The paint is highly opaque, quick trying, and blendable when wet. What I love about POSCA markers is how easy to use them. I can just use them as they are. I can paint quickly to make something fun and relaxing, and I don't need to put a lot of time and energy. With just my tiny sketchbook and a few POSCA markers, I can create an art to satisfy my creative self. In this class, we'll be creating a small art on our sketchbook or on any paper. You just need a piece of paper and a few POSCA markers. By the end of this class, you've created a beautiful art that hopefully will inspire you to begin your journey in making more POSCA art. I really can't wait to see you in class. 2. Class Project and Materials: For the class project, we'll be creating a small flower art. We will create something fun and relaxing without any pressure. This could also be a start of your journey of making more art using POSCA markers. For the materials, we only need a paper to draw on and a few POSCA markers. For the POSCA markers, we only need six colours - red, orange, blue, yellow, green and white. These are the same colours that I've used in my first POSCA class. But you can also use more or even less colors. Let's start. 3. Drawing the Flowers: In this lesson, we're going to draw the flowers. You can follow along, but your project doesn't need to look exactly like mine. And of course, you can also make your own design. I'll be drawing on my tiny sketchbook, but feel free to make your art in any size. The flower that we'll be drawing has four petals. Before we start drawing, it's good to have a paper to test our POSCA markers. I also like to place papers under the pages of my sketchbook. First, we shake the marker. Be sure that the cap is on so that the ink won't be flying around. I'm thinking of drawing four flowers here, here, here, and here. I will start with the orange marker for the outline. As you can see, I like to take some parts of the flower out of the paper. The next is red. Then the blue. Now we will decide which flower we would like to be in the front. For me, I would like the blue flowers to be in the front because they are small. So I will start colouring them. Next is red. Then lastly, the orange. Let it dry before we colour the center and add the background. 4. Adding the Background: In this lesson, we'll be adding the background. But first, let's colour the center of the flower with green. Now let's take the yellow to colour in the background. First, I will use the bigger nib. Now I will go over using a small nib. Let it dry before we add the finishing touches. 5. Finishing Touches: When all is dry, here comes the best part, and that is adding the finishing touches. I'm using white with a small nib to add them. I'm just going over the petals and adding lines. When you add the lines, don't think too much about it. Don't take pressure as this activity is meant to be relaxing. Just enjoy it because there is no right or wrong in this process. For the centre of the flower, I will draw small circles. As you can see, the white lines help for your drawing to stand out, and it really makes a lot of difference. 6. Thank You: Thank you for joining me in this class. I hope you enjoy making a small art using POSCA markers. Please don't forget to snap a photo of your art and share it in the project gallery section. I really can't wait to see what you've created. Also, please leave a class review. I would really appreciate it. And please look forward to my next POSCA class. Bye for now and see you again soon.
