Moreover, you will also learn to set up the key frames for various properties. Other than the rotation. And much more weird, you can control the speed or with the change of properties with respect to time. Using the effects control panel. You will also learn to export the video when you're editing is done. And you will learn about sequence settings where you can change various properties for exporting your video projects and much more. If you are curious to learn these video editing skills using Premier Pro, I started learning right now. See you in the class. 2. Getting Started with Premiere Pro: Hey friends, welcome to this lesson. We're going to learn about getting started with Adobe Premier Pro. So let's start with this. When the first time you open Premier Pro, this is how your window will appear. It will show you the different options. You can create a new project or open an existing project. So you can define the name of your project that you want to create. And it will be stored as Premier Pro project file. You can later on work on this project file. Now where you can add multiple videos, audios in a different assets, create effects, and render your video. If you have a GPU acceleration on your system, you are using Premier Pro. You can choose to use GPU acceleration or Mercury Playback for rendering. Otherwise, just escape it to the default settings and then your error. This is a Premier Pro, and here we got four different windows. This middle one is various options that you can use. The selection tool is selected by default. You can always rearrange the size of each different Window. On the top right side regarding the project, a window where your video preview will be displayed. Although you can change various windows by going to Window option, you can choose to remove or add any window. Don't get confused right now. You could be overwhelmed. If you're using Premier Pro for the first time. Just go to the project settings on the bottom-left corner here. When you double-click, you can import any video or audio file. Let us drag it to the right-hand side. Just hold left mouse click and drag to the right side. And now here you've got this timeline opened up. And this is a timeline. Here you just need to press the play button in order to play back your video. This is our variable up here. We have performed no editing right now. We have just added or videoclip to the Premium Pro timeline. Here. The linear flow is the timeline. Here you can perform various operations. Everything you are going to perform, you will be using this timeline. Timeline is a key for video editing. We can play pause this thing again and again. You can press the space-bar as a keyboard shortcut. If you don't want to use this key, you can change the window fitness. You can zoom in or zoom out. If you want to zoom into a particular component of the video, you can scale it up. Otherwise, keep it with an arrow on the right-hand side. This is a counter. It shows the video length. And on the left-hand side, the counter ratio of the current frame. So you will know that at which frame you are there, what point of time you were in the video playback. You can change the visibility mode on and off of the video by just clicking this icon. You can zoom in or zoom out the timeline by just moving this control slider. Just water move the timeline. This is how these are the basic constructs of the premier pro. Get familiar with this thing. I had multiple videos. And in the coming videos, you're going to learn about Premier Pro in-depth. Keep learning and keep going ahead. 3. Adding more videos to timeline: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson you're going to learn about adding some more videos and cliffs, the Premier Pro timeline. So let's start. Earlier. We have added one, clipping the timeline. Now we can add some more videos, just double-click. And this way, you can import any kind of audio, video, or images or vectors, any kind of assets, ritual or audio assets. You can use it. Here. Let us add one clip for parasailing. Here we got a tracking scene. You can simply drag and drop the timeline just next to the original video. We have added it in the sequence. Don't worry, we can always perform various kinds of editing. We can create guts, various kinds of cut. We can move this clip anywhere we want. We can create various kinds of effects as well. So here we got two different tracks. As you can notice here. The top track is for video, and the second track is for audio. In the first video, you may have noticed that it's a straight line. There was no Hadoop. In the second clip, we got some kind of waveforms that are, that is being displayed very loosely without any much detail. And that is the audio file. Once you right-click and select unlinked clip, the audio and the video gets separated. So earlier it was a link. Whenever you move either of the audio or the video track, both will move in synchronously. But once you unlink them, the audio, you can move them anywhere you want without synchronizing. We have moved the audio track before the video track is played, and so on. We can select here. You may notice that we have click mute option, that is m. And we can change the visibility mode on and off. By clicking this icon. You can turn the visibility mode of on for a video clip. And you can mute an audio clip. You can add other clippings as well. Whenever you require. For a video editing project, you may require multiple clips. So whether you are creating a documentary, travel blog, anything and if one video, any social media posts, anything you want to create. You may need multiple clippings and you can rearrange them. This timeline in Premier Pro makes it very easy, very systematic approach where you have multiple channels, how the channel is being applied. Human find that the video clipping data is on the top channel. Top of the stack will be displayed wherever the lower channel is hidden in the background. It has the priority order. So if you have two videos for the same time, the video on the top is being displayed. You can also unlink another clippings. You can delete audio track or any video track by just selecting them. Right-click and delete. You can move very stretched. Your MTR. Just use your mouse. Click select animal. Once your clip is selected, it will turn to white color and you can easily move them. In Premier Pro, you bought multiple audio and video tracks. So don't worry if you have, say, ten or 15 different video clips and you want to work on multiple tracks, like five or ten video tracks. You can always work. You just need to expand this view. You can simply move this window up or down. So in that case you will have multiple tracks visible. Otherwise, if you also wanted to work some serious project, you can use two different monitors. On one monitor you can configure the timeline. And on the second video you have affects and project monitor and other windows as well. If you want to work on multiple screens, you can work. Here right now, it is not required. So let's better focus on learning everything relative to Premier Pro. This is how you can add multiple video clips. You can unlink an audio clip from the video. You can move them. You can perform various operations like visibility mode and we'll turn, I know. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 4. Cut, copy, move and change speed: Hey, welcome back. In the previous lessons, you will learn about adding some videos through timeline. And now you're quiet family or with the Premier Pro user-interface. So next, we are going to learn about razor tool and changing SPE. In this lesson. Let's start. On the left-hand side, just below the selection tool you got the eraser tool. It looks like a razor blade. And just select this icon and you can clip, click it anywhere on the video clip. Wherever you will click, it will divide the video into two halves. It will split the video. So you can see here, we got two different video clips and we can rearrange them by just using the selection tool to move left, right, top, bottom, anywhere you want. So you can read it, move up, flip on various channels. Here we can find three different video channels. And you can move it towards left and right side. Leftward is a place where video is starts. So it is in respect of time. So you can consider this row as a timeline. Here you can move this thing. You can use the split tool or Razor Tool. Two, divide video, audio, or an image into multiple halves. So based on your requirements, the same way, we split it, a video clip. You can also split an audio clip as well. But if you're trying to split an audio clip, It's better to zoom in because it will destroy certain components. You must be very family are there. Otherwise it will sound something weird. If you have multiple sounds, you can keep it in the same. You will learn about this in later on. If you wanted to change the speed, you just need to right-click a clip and you can change those speed. Right-click, select speed and duration. Who wanted to change the speed. You can see the screen or you can also change the duration of the playback. Say if a video clip is of ten minutes length and you change the duration from ten minutes to five minutes. It will increase the playback speed by two. It will be ice pre-play back. Here. We can also create a replica or copies of the same clip. Just use the Control C and Control V shortcuts on the keyboard. Select the clip that you want to copy and paste it anywhere. You can move it from different channels. Here it is a clip, speed and duration control panel. You can change the duration of the video clip. From anytime you want see rehab, we've got three different clips. We want to create a simple effect where we will play back three different clips from for seven seconds, 12 seconds, and 20 seconds, 20 seconds. This is a normal speed. We got 12 seconds faster squared and the 7 second as fast, more fast. You can look here that there's a boat moving in the water body. The speed of the boat, and the clip duration changes with respect to time. Here the first clip is very fast, second clip is a little bit slow, and third clip is normal speed. You can also slow it down by increasing the duration. Save four from 20 seconds to 40 seconds. Or you can do anything. And you can also change it using percentage. Say if you want to make your clip 10 thousand times faster, you can do so. If you want to make it slow, you can also do so. Inheritance. This is how you can divide a clip into multiple segments. You can move it anywhere on the timeline. Get friendly with this, although it looks very basic and very simple thing. But believe me, these are the things that will make you a good editor. Better control of the razor tool, the move, and properly split. What makes a professional video editor different from a non-professional is the precision of carts. In Vienna video clip, you should decide where is the problem, whatever is the proper location of the video. Make a cut. And in the audio case, it makes it a little bit more difficult. Better you are. And sound artists or visual artists, you can use these things. Get better by adding various clips. Try editing using Premier Pro. Youth. We just kind of cut, tried to create various cinematic skirts like morph and different kinds of things. And be open to creativity. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 5. Creating reverse video and adding text: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson you're going to learn about putting a reverse video effect. That's a very cool effect using Premier Pro. So let's start with this. First, you need to have a clip, video clip that you want to reverse and right-click and select a speed and duration. We know how to change the speed and duration of a videoclip. Third option is reverses. We just check this box. Your video will be played in the reverse direction. So earlier, you can see a man was walking using his boots on top of the hill. And when we reversed it, it looks like it's descending from the hill. You can create a reverse effect on any kind of video clips. It won't be effective on images or audio in that manner. But in video it will work very recently. Left grade and effect. Let's change the duration of this video. Make it 200%, change the speed to double. So it will be faster, it looks fast. And we can find a transition very smooth and then copy the same video. And this time we reverse it. Just lay back how it will look. The first dispersion moved upheld, and now it looks like he is descending using the same track. So you might have seen this kind of playback in various cinematography projects, in various movies, various documentaries. This effect is very popular and you can easily create using Premier Pro. You can have a better control. Say, for example, if you want to have your original clip played in the normal speed without any change, you want the second clip that is reversed cape, with 75% of the speed, 200% of desperate, you can do so. You can create a wide array of effects and just allow your creativity. You'll create a different kind of things. You can also have multiple video clips arranged in the same manner. Let us do this one more time. Here we got banana, right? Kind of water or a sports activity. And here I was using some action camera, GoPro. I just fell down under water. This was the original video clip and now let us reverse it. And it looks like we are emerging out of the water to the boat. These kinds of effects are very useful, especially if you are creating a block or if you want to create some documentary. Say if you want to have some serious documentary and a dark, any kind of suspense you want to show, you can build using these kind of effects. You can reverse in order to see the playback in the pre cap or any kind of things. But cinematography is out of scope from this course, so we won't be covering cinematography in detail. But here we can, it does create some kind of radius up here. If you want to add some text, you can also easily add a text to the video. On the left-hand side. Some what below the selection tool on the left last option is the T little t icon. And you can select it, paste it on the program window, and you can write anything here. So it will also work as a visual layer. All the visual layers are shown in the visual channels. You can turn the visibility mode on and off. In order to have your text visible, you should keep it in the above channel as compared to the original flip. So we have added two different texts. First is for normal video and secondary for reverse video. This text clearly explains what the kind of activity is going on. If you wanted to build some suspense, you can add other title as well. Using text, you can also add subtitles. You can add captions and various kinds of things that you want to add in a video. Adding a text is one of the basic things. To add some information. You can also add images as you want. And you can also animate the text and the video. As you work, you will be learning what kind of effects and transformations in the coming lessons for now, just right to create various kinds of video clips, edit them, make a reverse of them. Tried to create some animation out there. And we open to creativity. So the more you practice, the more you will learn. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. You are going to learn more in the coming lessons. 6. Adding video transitions: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson you are going to learn about adding video transitions to your clips and the premium group. So let's get started. First, you need to go to the media browser on the bottom left corner. Hit expanded view icon, or you can go to Window menu and select Effects. You must enable the effects window. And it will show you multiple properties, such as presets, videos, audio and video effects. And we do transitions. So we are interested in video transitions at the moment. So we'll just select the video transitions. And you will get various kinds of transitions that you can add between two video clips. Let us select the 2D motion and drag a flip over effect. And you can drag it to any of the clip. Either last part of a clip or beginning of a clip. Transition is something that connects two different clips together on various parameters. You will have some smooth blending of two different clips. So if you want to have various kinds of university, if you want to have our dissolve effect, you can select the additive dissolve or cross dissolve and just play back how it looks like. You can make sure you can also increase the duration of video transitions. You can expand it to have a 5 second or 4 second video. I'll transition so you can have a little bit transition. So let's flip over. Effect will make your video for more attractive. Because here we have created a reverse video effect in the previous lesson. And let's add a transition here. You should, if you're a beginner, you should try experimenting with various video transmission properties. Just be wild. Any kind of transitions to anywhere on the clip, for any kind of clip. And you will learn how these things will affect the video, how it will look like hybrid change the psychology of the viewer, how it would add some meaning or cinematography to the video. Finally, when you have expediency were multiple video projects and you have worked with various video transitions, then you will be in a better situation to decide which transitions work where very best. Most popular kind of transition is simply dissolve. Cost is also an additive. Results are widely used. And most people also don't use any kind of transitions, but they are a subtitle transitions that is very self-aware. You would not notice it. But there are transitions, especially when you have two different color schemes of video clips. One is water activity and another is also water activity. You can go without any transition or very substrate transition. But if we have two different color, like one is for tracking and when it falls, water sports, you should require some kind of transitions in order to add some meaning. You will decide how your video could be conveyed. There are various other transition options as well, like immersive video, the iris, the page will affect a slide, wipe. Zoom. And we're just kind of things. You can select various kinds of properties. You also have the audio properties as well, but you will learn about it later on. For now, the video transitions are very good. If you have a long video that has multiple video clips and you can connect with them. This is how you can also add multiple transitions at the same time. You can have an adjacent layer or some other layer as well. This is the clock effect. Say if you want to show the duration of time, you can have showed the clock effect like after some times. If you want to turn around like chapters of phases of life or something, some kind of documentary. You can add something. There depends. It is, it allows you various creativity domain and wherever space to allow creativity to nurture. Just explore these transitions. And if the effects option, effect window is not available on your Premier Pro. So don't worry, just simply go to the Window menu bar on the top right corner next to view and help. And you must check effects option. If it is enabled, it will appear if it does not enable, first, make it enable, and then it will reduce split. Later on. You can combine these things. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. You're going to learn more in the coming lessons. 7. Exporting video and Sequence settings: Hi, welcome back, friend. In the previous lessons, you will learn various techniques for video editing in Premiere Pro. Now it's time to learn about some sequence settings and how you can export a final video in Premiere Pro. Let's get started. This is how will we have edited a video for the reverse video using various effects always taken weeks. Before moving to exporting, we need to first check some sequence settings. What our sequence settings, sequence settings allow you to control how your video would be exported, various properties. It could be visual properties like frame size and audio sample rate and other things. So just go to sequence menu, select the sequence settings, the first option in the bar, and this pop-up window will allow you various settings. So you can select the editing mode from custom. Just select the custom. If you don't know what to select and if you want to decide any particular editing mode for a DSLR, Canon camera or any adulting you can select. Then you can select a frame size, horizontal and vertical dimensions for the frame. If you want to have a higher-quality like 1920 by 1080 pixels, you can select, this would be 16 to nine aspect ratio. You can have 750 cross 360 size, frame size as well. Depending on the quality. Also you can export in Forky. But remember if you are exploiting a video in for k, all the clips must also be in forking. Otherwise it will be meaningless. I will just increase the size of your video without actually increasing the quality. It's better to. I have a higher-quality clippings and then select the higher-quality for export settings. You can also select anything you want. You can select the audio sample rate. If you want a rich audio, you can select 96 thousand hertz. If you want to have an average audio, you can select 48 thousand hertz. Or if you want to have a below average, you can have a 32,013 depending on the sample rate. Youtube's. Then you can select the time-based number of frames per second. You can select 30 frame first against 60 frames per second, 15, anything you want. And after you're done with this, just go to the file, move to export. And here you got media option, File Export and select Media. And it will show you this pop-up window for export settings. You hurry, you can provide the location we are your video, would we export it? You can select the name of the video. You can change the format. Like by default, I have selected the MP4 format. You can select the MP4 format by just moving to the format option and select H.264. This is equivalent to mp4 format. If you want to convert it to animated GIF, you can convert, if you want to just explode or an audio component of the video. You can export if you want to have some other formats you can choose like AVI matter Russia format, or any other format that you want. Everything is related to video. So based on your quality, if you're uploading for video sharing platforms such as YouTube, you can choose MP4 or any other property. If you are working on various ecosystems, you can change based on their quality. If you are sharing for a small really or something like that, you can export a GIF format because it will be lossy format. I with a lower frame rate. It will have a less size. Better to have a Premier Pro project. And you can export the same video in various formats. For example, if you're creating a documentary or some project, you can export it into GIF and share on social media. You can export in high-quality and retain for your use, and so on. You can have a multiple versions. But don't forget to save a project in Premier Pro because it will be a higher-quality well, you can always change the size. Also change the display size. You can also choose which component of the video to export by just dragging the input and output option. Once we're done with this thing, just select the Export button and it will start rendering and exporting your final video. And it will received at the predefined destination on your system. Rotates. This is the progress bar based on your GPU capability. If you were completed as a good GPU, it will render very fast. Otherwise it will be slow. But it won't be that we wouldn't have used multiple transitions are complex effects, so it rendered quite quickly. Keep learning, keep moving ahead. 8. Effects control- Changing opacity using keyframes: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson you're going to learn about controlling various transformation properties using effects control and keyframe. So fs control is a window panel in Premier Pro that allows you to control various properties set on a video clip, AudioClip. Anything else On that is available on the timeline? Just go to Effect Control. And here you can see some default properties such as opacity, Transform, Scale, Rotation, time remapping and much more. Here we are just going to set some keyframes. Keyframes are already used in various animating softwares, such as After Effects and mode. Here you can see the default opacity is set to a 100% and you can change it to any percentage that you want, ranging from 0 to 100%. Using this property, we can create a kind of animation that is gradual. What we are going to do is to select the first clip and click on the little diamond icon next to the opacity. And provided value of opacity. Say, if we select the 0% or 50% and select the key frame here, it will start with the 50% opacity. Later on on the next key frame. We can change it to a 100%. So you can see that in the beginning it was 50% opec. And later on it gets a little boat, little bit more bright and the opacity is controlled using this key frames. You can have similar kinds of effects in all your video clips. If you are editing some videos and want to show some light, you have multiple clips. You can also create your transition on your own. You might know how to add video transitions such as dissolved and is always nothing other than the change of opacity values. You can create these things. If you are a beginner, you would just simply use all the ready-made transitions without understanding how they work. What you've a professional, you already know how these transitions work in real life, especially the opacity once and they scale once. Scale properties generally used for the zoom control. And opacity is used for simple dissolve and other transitions. There are far more advanced effects that can be created easily with After Effects. Just escaped After Effects part right here. Ignore it and just focus on what you can control with Premier Pro. Because if you already know how to do these things, the keyframe concept is same. A weird in Premier Pro or After Effects. After Effects you have, you got far more advanced properties control, where you can control a lot of things. You can add it as a template near Premier Pro projects. Now moving back to the editing part, here we got four different video clips in the timeline. And we can set the opacity keyframes for each set of them. 1 to note here is that sometimes you may find that whether you are added key frames, it is not displayed as expected. It could be due to a simple error. Like you may have selected another key clip, another video clip. Here. Currently we are trying to set keyframes for the third clip, which is highlighted with the white color. The selection is highlighted with a white color in the timeline. You can note here. Maybe if for some reason we could have selected another clip and this will create some error. So you won't be able to set the key-frames properly. This, just note this thing here. And you will be ready to go. If you are new to this concept of keyframes, don't worry too much over practice. You will have a hands-on grab over this thing. It started with a single clip with opacity. And the concept remains same whether you use other properties as well, like scale, the rotation. The keyframes are simple to animate. You can easily delete a key frame by just selecting this diamond icon. Using the mouse and just hold delete key on the keyboard, it will delete. You can also delete by hitting the stopwatch. I can just next to opacity property name. Once you deselect it, all the keyframes would be lost. So it's better to avoid this thing. Prior to create your own animation. Like fade, dissolved and much more using Premier Pro. Keep learning and keep going. 9. Advanced Effects control- scale, position, rotation: Hi, welcome back, friend. In the previous lesson, you learned about effects control, where you learn to set keyframes for changing with properties such as opacity. You will learn how to control the opacity of a video clip by changing its value over time. This allows you to create animation. And now here in this lesson we're going to learn about more advanced efforts control option where you can animate properties such as a scale, position, and rotation. Let's start with escape. Just click stopwatch icon next to a scale property. And here you set a key frame. Here we select the first two clips. First one is a natural original playback and secondary study worth. We want to create an animation like this video emerges out of nowhere and expanded to a 100%. And later on, we can just also remove it from a 100% or 0 perfect. So just click on the little diamond icon. Whenever you want to set keyframes. You can select any discrete value from 0 to 100% based on your requirements. So here we are animating the scale property, so our video will emerge out of nowhere. So here you can note that I starting reset 0. You can also select another values like 0.512828.5, any number you want, and it will start expanding. It emerges out of center. And later on, after a few seconds, we can set another key frame and make it a 100%. Now, just replay this thing and you will notice that it is emerging. Here. We also have some video transitions that is rotating the video. Whenever the transition is there. This is how your video will look like. It will emerge out of the center of the screen while everything is moving. And this creates a simple animation effect. What is animation? If you animation is not just something you do with the vector graphics, you can do with the videos or photos and raster images as well here. This video editing also involves part of animation. And animation allows you to change properties like escape, position, opacity, and rotation. These are the four basic properties. You can move up. Video clip, rotate it on various axes, x, y, and z axis. You can move the position on three different coordinates. You can change the scale property, you can make the opacity. When you combine all these four properties together, you can create a lot of beautiful animating effects. This is how it is gradually step. Just focus on setting the key frames. The concept of keyframes are same in all the properties. You can also go into the detailed properties such as anchor point. People who don't know what is anchor point. Anchor point is the center of the video where everything is pivoted. Right now, we have set the anchor point to the default value. And default it is centered around the center of the screen. So our video looks like it emerges out of the center. If you set it to the corner, it emerged from the corner. You can also change the position. It is not required that you set the keyframes are all different properties, although you can animate few of them and leave others the default values. If you want to combine them, you can set the properties like if you want to set the position property, we want our video to emerge out of the top right corner. We can do so by using the position or we can use the anchor point. I've also explained to you how to use anchor point. And this is how you use the position. These kinds of animations, anything you can imagine, you can create. This is the power of creativity. You just need to think out of the box and out-of-the-box thinking would emerge out of experience. Just pick out various gifts he started eating. Now, start editing with various properties, play with them. Set the keyframes for each individual properties. Opacity scale rotation, set various animations and overtime you will learn how you can blend these things beautifully in order to make a final video project. Whether you are a travel blogger, you could be a documentary person, you could be a sound artist and you could be a visual artist. You could be anyone, you could be passionate hobbyist, anyone. These properties will make you your content outstanding. These days, people also create video resumes. You can do a lot of things. So be open. Premier Pro is an advanced software and allows you a lot of things. These are the basic things that you will need to do. And here we set keyframes for rotation, scale and position. You can also set the rotation property. The concept remains same. Set on the keyframes, define the value you can change using this slider as well with mouse. Or you can enter the value explicitly. It will be changed, whereas properties, and if you have a confusion, you can delete a key frame and restart. Again. This is out. You said the properties, keep learning and keep moving ahead.
