1. Introduction: Hi there, welcome to this course on Essentials of Adobe Illustrator and graphic design minute associate in our structure for this lab. Here in this class are going to be on our various tools and techniques that I use for creating vector illustration and graphic design. Complete beginner. Don't worry. This course will begin right from scratch, where you will learn various essential tools that are used in Illustrator. If you have any previous knowledge in Illustrator or even if you don't have, this course will be suitable for you to upgrade your skin. In this class, we won't be discussing everything in Illustrator, but all the essentials to begin with, such as you will learn about Shape Builder that can be used to draw various kinds of custom shapes that are not available by default. Then you will learn about width tool and how you can use it to draw various shapes and text. Then you will learn about clipping mask, opacity mask, and a different photomask. Then you will learn to create drop shadows. You will learn about with the 3D components like extrude and B. Well, then you will learn about image tracing, where you can create a vector illustrations or raster images. Then you really only about puppet tool that can be used to illustrate and create actual profit and much more. If you're curious to learn these skills and Adobe Illustrator, we started on this unit. 2. What is a Layer?: Hi, Welcome back. Right here. In this lesson, you're going to learn about layers in Illustrator. So let's start. When you draw any shape, any object, anything on the art world. It gets reflected in the layers, panel. Layers allow you to control your objects in a sequence here and hierarchical manner. So you can open the layer panel. Here. On the right-hand side, I have opened. You can go to the Windows and layers if it is not available there. Here, we draw multiple shapes and we could rearrange them using layers. So currently everything gets saved in a single layer called layer one, that is default layer. And later on we can rearrange them. Rearranging the layers are crucial when you want to export your Illustrator file for animations, like after effects on different software. Also, it helps you arrange things in a better way. You can create a new layer using this create new layer option on the right corner. And you can create as much length as you want, multiple layers. And you can always rename the layers. So just double-click and provide a name you want to create. Here are just provide the name of three shifts, a hexagon, estar, and triangles. And just use the left mouse click hold and drag it to the layers you want to track. So simply, you can create new layers. You can also delete any layer by using this delete option next to new layer, I would cancel it by pressing Control Z command. These are the three layers that I created. You can also create one layer inside any other layer. Just simply expand the layer and create a new layer. Nesting allows you to have more effective control over objects. Layer. Keep things simple, arranged. Otherwise, if you have thousands of objects, they get messed up. If you want to change color of anything like say, if you have drawn a world map and they're each different shape represent different countries. If you want to convert all the countries in Africa to green color or yellow color, anything. You can do so by grouping them together using a layer concept. You could apply same things later on. You can put a smooth any shape anywhere on the art board and it won't get reflected in the layers, panel. Layers all only keep things in a hierarchy. They find a Relations. And you can also group them in the manner. So when you put any layer below other layer, the top layer gets visibility. So treat it like a stack of plates where anything put on the top and gets visible. So when we put a triangle on the top of the triangle is visible. And when we put any other object like hexagon on the top, hexagon is visible and triangle is covered. You can go to the Properties panel to have some more controls like opacity, a stroke fill. You can also add the rulers and different objects. Turning Opacity would be useful in various illustrations. You can always turn the visibility mode on and off or a layer and will keep learning and keep moving. 3. How to use width tool?: Hi, welcome back. In this lesson we're going to learn about width tool in Adobe Illustrator. So let's start. Let us first draw a line segment and we can change its width. The width tool allows you to have very vague across a stroke of different lines. You can draw any kind of shape. This thing. You can drag it outside, make it shrink at certain points. You can create amazing shape like that. The way it's simple, you have to click on any point of the given shape, a line, segment or a square, anything. And you have to drag it towards the outer side. Or you can drag it towards the inner side of the line. Towards the line or outside the line. Holding the left click on the mouse. It will create amazing shape with variant changing a variable width. So this is, it looks like a pen with an ink, you can create amazing thing. You can create pointed edges. You can have a wave like feature knife. You can create amazing shapes. This is very simple, very creative. And it will create symmetric shapes as well. Because the both side of the line or the square or any shape will have the similar formation. You don't need to add just a symmetry as well. You can simply drag outwards. There is no limit of the points. You can do anything like that. That there's nothing like on a line. You have three points or ten points or 20 points. You have to just click on any point of the shape. Here it is a line. When it is a square or circle, you can point on anything on the outline, the stroke, and you can drag it towards outward to change a bit. With variable weight. You can do calligraphy, you can do any kind of illustration that will empower your design. Let us draw a square shape. This is a square with zero fill, no fill, no stroke at tiny stroke. So with a normal shape, you get the similar uniform width, width, Width Tool. You can adjust so it looks like a two wings or you can create amazing logos this way. Logo creation needs where imagination and not generally planned. Truly speaking, when you're using width tool, you don't plan to make any shape unless you are a perfect designer. I'm just the beginning. And when I plan to create an illustration and design, I don't think very much. I just drawing a shape and a simple shape with Esquire begin with a simple few lines or curves. I use the width tool to just drag it and shrink it, enlarge it at different points. And try experimenting with a shape. You can always change the color. So it looks like there's some logo often company, a Cloud vendor uses this kind of formation. You can create anything like that. If you are into the field of logo designing or graphic illustration, you can leverage a lot with this tool. You can use any of the tools to create shape. You can use the shape builder as well to draw a perfect shape. You can use the pen tool or the curvature tool or anything like that. And after you are done with the outline, you can manipulate it. Make it something cool that appears to a larger audience or the segment you want. It will allow you to create both modern look as well as media will look. Your illustrations. Heritage. You can also change the cap. It can be rounded cap, it could be as some kind of shape. Arrows, and these are the pre-defined shapes. You can also add your own shapes using the assembler tool you can use. Or you can use a predefined Cesar can help you design logo for some saloons or something like that. You can use it and you can create your own symbols and it could be added to a laboratory. So we innovative, create anything you think of. Give it a practice. Keep learning, and keep moving ahead. 4. Create text with width tool: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson, we're going to learn about creating amazing illustrations using texts and width to select star. I've written three alphabet a, B, C, and D in capital cases using the text tool. And now you can readjust the stroke and we will change its width to create an amazing illustration. So first, right-click. Create Outlines, click on, Create Outlines. It will create outlines for each individual texts. And with the outlines, you can change the width. Because when you don't convert to outlines, it won't allow you to change the way. So once you are done, you can begin with changing the colors, make the fill transparent and hit on the Width Tool. Click on any point and just drag it outwards or inwards using the left mouse click. So here it is. It is very simple and it makes your taste texture look very appealing. This is how you have to do this. The similar way you can add a lot of texts. It could be used for logo design, various kinds of graphic illustration. If you are into the field of web graphic design or logo design or anything, you could leverage this width tool, analytics tool. Sometimes you get bored with the usual text and fonts and other type of graph three effects. You can create your own varying width tool allows you to have the exact width, thinner or fat at a certain point of any shape. So this way you can distort anything simply. There is no hardbound rule. You don't need to be symmetric completely. It will allow you to stage everything. It will look like they are dancing and we'll have a great pre. Try experimenting with this. You can have a background. I've created a square background. You can decide your own color and you can enjoy it. Because illustrator will create the vector files and electrophiles are generally transparent. So when you convert it, export it with a JPEG, a PNG, it will lose the value of due to transparency. So in graphic design, say if you want to design a banner or sometimes poster, you could use a background color. So this is a blue color shade. It is better to use a similar tone color. You can go with the same tone or multi tone color scheme. Monochromatic, and different colors games. I prefer using monochromatic is came different times. You don't need to be perfect at a starting. You can experimenting, experiment with a change of color with changing the size of your text. You can play with the width tool and readjust the width of each certain point. And when you are certainly share, confident that your design looks good, you are ready to use it for anything you want. This is a design. Here. I don't prefer using this background, right? Taught you how to add a background. You can create with your things. When you add a lot of characters, it will be a little bit difficult. This is my personal experience that in this way, this technique works perfectly well with the capital characters, capital case letters. But with a smaller case letters, it will be a little bit less appealing. Because it gets a lot of his plays in capital cases. In the similar way, if you are from any other country in the world that uses a different is clipped other than zero manuscript. We eat Chinese men, Darien, Devanagari script for Hindi. Arabic is clear. Any script that you use, you can also add this thing. You have to just add the font to your library and the greasy. And you can start typing a text in a different font. Just create an outline in the similar way that we did here. And you can create amazing logos. It create a better graphic design or lovers. Anywhere you are in the world. Be creative. Try experimenting with your own texts layers. Keep learning and keep moving here. 5. How to use twirl tool?: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson, we're going to learn about toil tool in Adobe Illustrator. So let's start. There are various tools with width tool that can allow you to create amazing illustrations with Illustrator. So I've created this text of three uppercase alphabet, a, b, and c. And you can find a toil tool. Right below the width tool. You need to just click it with the arrow is small arrow next to this way tooth. And here you've got the tool. How to use it. It is very simple to use. You just use the selection tool. Select your word, use the twirl tool at any point, and click using left-click. So the longer you press, the more effect will be there. When you press it lightly for a very small duration on the left mouse click, it will create a simple thing. You can also drag it out words on the screen. So it will have like a flame effect or slightly toward. You can cre, create a creeper text or a burning texts using this tool. So this is very amazing. It will create a great look for your texts. So just experiment with it and drag things out worse. So like there is a letter C, Let's make a stop site look like a flame or an hanging out and make some characters. Don't repeat the same thing. You need to make it very random. So don't make it a predictive. You can create your own font this way also. So what I will do, I will just copy this same text, change the color on super-impose is slightly below the original texts and place it on top of it. It will look like it is a flame. Or you can create an amazing graphic design. This kind of effect could be also used for logo design and a wide variety of thing you can do. You could also create amazing texts effects without using any typographic technique. You can also use with shapes, any kind of shape, with Cloud, any custom shape, or any predefined shaped like a polygon is quiet, circle, triangle, add much more. So go to the Illustrator and create anything you want. Be imaginative, be creative. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 6. How to use pucker tool?: Hi, welcome back. In this lesson, we're going to learn about poker tool in Illustrator. So let's chart. I've drawn this ellipse or whether it fill color on provided no stroke. And you can find the pucker tool next to the width tool. You have to click on any point, either drag it outwards or drag it inwards. It will create a here like a structure around it is dragged towards the outer side of the shape. Or when it is drag inside, it creates a depression. You can create amazing layout using this thing you get, create a dome-like structure. It could be used for creating a greeting cards or different kinds of leaves while the client. So here it is. We have deformed this ellipse shape into a new variant which has hairs and the Russians, it looks like and paint color is spilled on the screen. You can also use the pucker tool over the texts layers. So you just need to create a text and you can select the object. And here, use the pucker tool to drag it outwards. It is very simple. It is as simple as that. Just need to click on any point on the shape and drag it outwards. So you can create a new kind of font here. It looks very amazing. It looks like everything is pinned, a, b, c. All the characters have the hair-like structure, a thorn here, or anything like that. You can have Aneesh mode known as motor layer. You could also stretch to create some new kind of characters. It could be created using like it is Pick Whip are anchored using different points. You can show this thing. You can create an old look using this thing. It is widely used in graphic designs. But don't overdo it. Be on the safer side. By experimenting with this pucker tool, you can use a combination of poker with different tools. You create an amazing digital illustrations. You can always change the color, adjust the stroke, and the fill, and try experimenting with these properties. You can use various color schemes like monochromatic color schemes or different color, a combination of colors. Experiment with them. Try experimenting with different colors, gradients on the combination of pucker tool, a weight to add other toolsets where you can create amazing illustrations. Keep learning, keep moving ahead. 7. How to use symbol sprayer?: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson you're going to learn about symbol sprayer tool in Illustrator. So let's start. You can create any kind of object or shape and convert it to a symbol. And later on, you can use the symbol to its prey to create multiple symbols repeated over time. So let us create a circle with orange color and turn the opacity to 50 per cent or any value you want. Now, I want to just create a replica of this circle. Just copy and paste over it and change the color. So let us make it a little bit yellow. We'll copy it again. Create a combination of three circles after and its opacity to 50% just to get the view of three circles and make it look beautiful. This way I've created a pattern of three colors using three shapes. You can readjust them. You can arrange, send anything backwards or anything for you. So I've done this. I'll select everything. You can group them together and go to the symbol, to the select everything. Hit on Create new document like option value. You have to click it to create new symbol. Now, you can provide any name and hit, Okay. So a new symbol is being created. Now, let us make it little bit smaller and keep it aside. Now go to the symbol sprayer tool and using the left-click, you can drag on the screen. When you hold a left-click and drag it, it will create a multitude of symbols. Many symbols. And when you click it little bit over time with the hole, it will create a single tuples. You can always change the size and shape of each individual symbols and combined as a whole. This way you can create amazing wallpapers. A modern looking wallpapers are the backgrounds that can be used for any kind of project that you use, either with Illustrator, photoshop or any graphic editor to be innovative, tried to create different kind of symbols and use it in your projects. Keep learning, keep moving ahead. 8. How to create opacity mask?: Hi, welcome back friend here in this lesson, we're going to learn about creating an opacity mask in Illustrator. So let's start. When we have multiple shapes. We can create a clipping mask. For the common area of those shapes. With opacity mask, we can add a gradient to it as well. The transparency level can be fetched using gradients. So let's draw a circle on top of a square shape and readjust the gradient. On the second sheet, we are placing an object with a gradient on top. And they go to the transparency pain. You can add a gradient to different orientation with circular or over an angle. You could have multiple colors for gradient. But when you have two colors, it is easy to do. Readjust the shape and the common area you want to make mask off. And once you are done, select both shapes and hit Make Mask option in the transparency pain, it will create an opacity mask. If you don't find this transparency, you can go to Windows and get the transparency pane here. Here it is. Just rewind it and select both shapes and hit Make mask. You can change the gradient value. When a gradient have two colors, say dark orange and white. So it will take opacity, transparency percentage between those two values. Say it takes a while to be more transparent and orange to be less transparent opec. And it will crop it the background shape. Similarly, let's try it again. Now, draw a rectangle on top of a mask shape and now use the simple gradient, linear gradient of black and white. Go to transparency, select both shapes and hit Make Mask. And when we create a mask of it, it will create something like that. You can see the black portion gets converted into white color. The white portion gets converted to glue. Similar plea because the white was converted, treated as a transparent and black as opaque. You can note here that it is different from clipping mask because clipping mask, the common area, but an opacity mask. Here's the opacity behind the shape. Try building your solution. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 9. Creating drop shadow: Hi, welcome back for it. Here in this lesson, you're going to learn about creating drop shadows over texts and shape layers. Let's do it. Let us first, we create some text. Let's write some alphabet. Abc in capital case I've written. Readjust the size, font, color, anything you want, and reposition it at the right place on the art board, wherever you want. And after you are done, just go to fx is stylize, drop shadow. Now here you got Drop Shadow controls. You can change the mode to Multiply, keep it. Opacity. X and y offset provide any values in points and a blur. You can also choose the color of your shadow. The default is black. You can change it anytime later. Press Control Z. If you don't want this effect to apply. Then go to this control pain again. To modify the settings. You can have a wobbler with larger area. You could have shadow with different color. Say I've created a shadow with red color. That shadow is little bit right-side of say, you can provide the value in negative. If you provide 15 pixel, it will be rightward. If you provide negative 15, negative ten, it will be on left side. So I've changed the fill color to the white so it gets moist with the art board. And the drop shadow adds a cool effect. It looks like it is a 3D object. You can also edit the drop shadow anytime later, go to the appearance pain and hit the drop shadow. And you can modify the settings. You can change the color. You can change the offset value, the mode, multiplication, or anything you'd like. You can increase the shadow. You could also create a shadow that could fall only on the vertical or a horizontal axis, or on what? It depends on your choice. When you move your object to shadow will also move along with the object. So the shadow is embedded into the object itself, the shape itself. Now let us draw our hexagon. You can draw any shape, or you can also merge the shapes using the shape builder or pen tool or anything like that. And apply the drop shadow in the same way you applied with the text. Go to Effect, Stylize and drop shadow. And you can edit using the appearance panel. Just scroll down to the point where you see this drop shadow option. Using the appearance panel, you can always modify the settings are effects that you apply on any object. You can change the path, increase or reduce the size of your shadow. You can change the color of the shadow. When you try to wear some 3D look, or you want your object to appear like it as a 3D, you can use this drop shadow. You can take multiple colors. Try creating various graphic objects is very simply done. Adding drop shadow will enhance your look. The effects you got different kinds of Illustrator and Photoshop effects you can apply on your vector. A drop shadow is a vector effect. It won't create a raster images. So you can always save it as a vector file or a transparent PNG. You can change the color of your fill, stroke and the shadow. Anytime you want. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 10. Extrude and bevel 3d: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson, you're going to learn about x2 and we will function in Illustrator. So they start, you can draw any shape or texts, and later on you can convert it to 3D look. So you can use an effect called Extrude and be well, that could be found from Effect 3D Extrude and Bevel. Here we have drawn a shape polygon. Provided a stroke and color go to Effect 3D. Extrude and B, where here you can provide any angle of orientation. The 3D notice or more features. Hit Okay, when you're done. So here it adds, it converts the stroke into the depth and the thickness and the orientation. You can define. When you expand it. Multiple options, you've got shading, wireframe, different options. You can also control the light intensity, light intensity, opacity, the ambient light percentage. You can also control the stuff. Shading color, you can. The shading color, could we black, blue, any color you can provide. Also provide the intensity and the number of steps. The hit Okay when you're done. And you can also edit it. In the preview pane appearance panel. You can rotate it in three coordinates, x, y, and z, and can verify whether it works in your scenario. If you want to draw some isometric shape, you can also use this extrude and we were as a shortcut to create our shapes three-dimensionally. You go to appearance and you can edit your configurations and options for the X2 function. In a seamless way. Try to apply this, Extrude and Bevel on multiple shapes, colors and more. You can change the color of your beaver and say if you provide any dark color, it will also affect the fill color as well. It generally takes the color of a stroke. And let us write any text. Is scale it to make it larger. And when your text is larger, go to Selection Tool, select your text, move it and the way you want. Now change the color and apply the same method. Just go to Effects and 3D Extrude and B where it is. And it changes in angle. You can define your own angle. You can change the perspective. And you can create awesome texts and objects that may look in 3D to try building road solution. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 11. Isometric cylinder coins extrude and bevel: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson, you're going to learn about creating isometric shapes like coins using X2 and we will in Illustrator. So let's start. Let us first create a shape like a circular, Ryan, rounded circle, equally symmetric. And let's change the color to a little bit. Golden shade, golden orange. Keep the stroke was the same color as the fill. And now just hold a Select, go to Effects our 3D and extrude and we will, we are interested in changing the position to isometric top hit. Okay? So now we have created a simple point. Don't get confused. We are using the Extrude and Bevel. We don't change our other configuration settings. We just provided isometric top as a position. Next, we can do is add a gradient to our object. Gradient help us to get below or metallic luster. You can change the color a little bit using the color adjustment controls. It got an RGB color scheme and the combination produces results. So once you are satisfied, you can move in editing. You can also change the appearance of the extrude. You can put isometric left, right, anything like that. But this way coins isometric. Top face like Quine is kept on the ground. So it is as simple. So now we can create multiple clients by just copying it, duplicating it, and placing it replica, Oval the screen anywhere. So go to the layer option and get a visual view. You could adjust the position of your points on the screen. And once you try to create a similar kind of shape, it won't get the coin like view unless you do the extrude. Just copy and paste it on the top. We can create some natural stack of coins, or we can place them randomly anywhere on the screen. So it is one of the important thing that can be used in various kinds of projects like financial, banking and different kinds of projects that you can use. You can use for your any game efforts or anything you want to create. Illustrator is widely used for creating game assets of our animations and other projects as well. You can use this kind of thing. This is a simple way. You can also add detailing to your clients IT or unjust to explore all the settings. Or you could add more color, add more detail, and you can create with different versions. So let's add a background of the same color and degrading. You could also put some text here, like coins or anything like that, and also apply Extrude. And we will do that text to make it appealing. So it will feel like everything is in 3D. And here it is. This gradient background looks like it is a backdrop. So people who are from photographic background, the nose I bought is a backdrop. So a backdrop like some light that you get, a light or studio lights. Look it, get this kind of loop. You can change the color of your text. And once you are done, just go to Effect. 3d. Extrude and Bevel. Don't forget to select your object or layer that you want to extrude using the selection tool. You can experiment. Nobody creates an awesome illustration. On the first hit. You need to practice and change things. Apply, Extrude and Bevel. And it appears so we can get something different this time. Go to position and choose isometric top. So it will create like this. We can get isometric right leg. If you try to rotate. It won't get this perfect kind of effect. It will block some kind of texts. You can get isometric, left, isometric, anything, right? Just experiment or you can manually provide your own angle using the XYZ coordinates and the controller option. Once we are done, just place your text and save your project. Similar way you could also create some things are more assets or different objects like fruits, vegetables, and in 3D objects. Aquinas, one of the simplest thing to do. It looks good. You're going to simply add more things. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. And don't forget to be innovative. 12. Puppet warp tool basics: Hi there. Welcome to this lesson where we're going to learn about using puppet wrap tool in Illustrator. So let's try. Orbitrap allows you to move your object or body skeleton of your illustration, just like you are moving a puppet. Puppet has multiple joints, like knee joint, shoulder joint, elbow joint, neck join, and other joints. The human case, you could also create palpate for a variety of things like a tree or anything like that. So you can move an object is smoothly by putting pins over certain areas. So we are drawing circles and rectangles. Sometimes Illustrator automatically detect where to place the pins for creating a pulpit. Once you are using a simple circle and rectangle, it will automatically detect that circuits are supposed to be joined and rectangles could be the adjoining bone. This is a general skeleton. Once you are done with this, you can position anything on top of it. So like if the joint is moving with the pin, you can put anything like any design, any shape and the illustration and you assemble on top of it and group it with the background. Once they are object moves. It will also move the entire body. This was also used in animations, but animation has to record things, but an illustration, you don't need to record, but you have to adjust things accordingly. You can create multiple stages of the same illustration using this puppet tool. We have created a one-sided hand. Just group them together and copy it. There. Once you copy, go to Transform and Reflect. You will get the similar kind of hand and leg movement. The equal symmetric. They don't need to copy everything, try to automate thing. And here it is, We got a complete human skeleton. This way. Not exact bone, skeleton, but as simple way. Now, just select everything. Hold right-click and group them together. So this time they all are grouped together. Just go to Puppet wrap, click the pin. And it is. So you can see the markings and the planes appear on the screen. Sometimes there could be locations where you need to place adjacent pins. So just try to hover around. When you, once you click on any pain, double-click, you can move it elastically like it is moving. So if you are moving the pin, you are not just moving the circle. You are distorting the entire skeleton accordingly. It feels like they are pinned on the board. It is amazing. This is an amazing tool for people who are using this for the first time. Just give it a try, try creating this thing or anything else. And you could create an amazing illustration like walking tiger or anything like that. Walking animals are moving humans, bicycle, anything. You can show any kind of activity. So you can also do illustrations for tribal art or something like that. They depict multiple stages of an event using pictograms. Pictograms could be created using the skeleton and palpate wrapping. All the scenario where illustrator is unable to create bins for you. You could manually create any pain anywhere else on the body. So just click it on there. Do the double-click on the mouse, double left-click, and it will create a pin. And if you want to delete any pain, just double click it. And it will press the Delete option or just select it and press Delete on the keyboard, it will be deleted. It looks like a man is boxing. You can create a boxing event or gymnasts and Olympic poster, anything like that. Be innovative and this is very simple. And once you have used the pin, you can use the free transform tool just next to the pain that can be used to move around your pins. You can also use selection tool, but one, you, once you use the selection tool, it will read an entire object and add image as one group so it won't be moving. I applying this, keep learning and keep moving. 13. How to Draw clouds using shape builder: Hi, welcome to this lesson. Here you will be learning about Shape Builder tool in Adobe Illustrator. So let's start just due to the Ellipse Tool. To draw circles. Just select it and use a left click and drag on the screen. Here, you can draw any number of circuits. We will be drawing a simple cloud. The cloud shape is not available by default. And we can create a cloud by drawing multiple shapes and combining them with. So we have drawn four circles and then draw a rectangle joining them. At a location you want. Just wait and reposition any shape you want. And when you are done with the positioning, select all the shapes you want to join and move downwards. Go to shape builder tool. Deselect the shape builder tool. And just left-click the area which you want to be part of the shape. Just hover around. On the screen. We need to hold the left-click and just hover around the shapes we want to select. So we have selected all four circles and now just combine the rectangle properly. We want all area in between. We don't want to leave any area. So this is our Cloud. So this shape has been. So just go to Selection Tool and you can change the color of this cloud as per your choice. You can apply any color and you cloud will be that color. You can also select a stroke. You can turn a stroke on or off. Turn the stroke off. So this was one way of drying a cloud. You can draw a different Cloud, different shapes. Here I've used a four circles and when rectangle, you can also build a Cloud solely with the help of all the circles. So let's do it. Here. I draw a simple circle. Draw Mohr's circle. You can add is some bigger ones or smaller one. That will be your own choice. Just reposition them on the art world. And here in place of rectangle B, draw a circle. And we can combine all the shapes together and you can separate it elsewhere. So the Shape Builder, you can do two things. You can combine multiple shapes together. You can also remove certain parts of the shape. So just select all these circles and go to shape builder tool, as done previously. Just hover around with your left-click on hold and select the areas you want to be part of the Cloud and change the color accordingly. And here, we don't want the bottom bulge of the circle and the cloud, so we can remove it very easily. So we need to draw a rectangle over this shape. And you can apply shape builder tool multiple times over a same shape. So just draw a rectangle. And again, go to selection tool, select these two shapes, the Cloud and the rectangle. And hold Alt key and hover around with your left-click. So this way, you can remove a part of this shape. In a similar way. You can also remove other undesired segments of the shape using the shape builder. Just press Alt key on the left, click. Overall. When you have drawn a shape on the art board, you can arrange them in different layers, just and go to Layer panel here. And here we have two cloud shapes. And we have to rearrange them in different layers in order to perform any operations later on. This is a good practice. It is not required, but when you have to undergo editing at a later time of a project, the layer arranged manner would be helpful to turn any visibility on or off the art board. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 14. Draw Mechanical wheel gear using shape builder: Hi, welcome back Brian. Here in this exercise you're learning how to create a mechanical way using Shape Builder tool. Just select the polygon, double-click on the art board and just define the size here, I will be creating an octagon. So just provide eight sites. Just readjust the size of this arc to it. It must be equal in size. You can hold down the Shift key while expanding U-shaped. You have uniformity. Now, draw triangles. We want long triangles. Pin triangle that must be more than the radius of this polygon, displace it. Will the polygon outward direction from the center. We want similar triangles, just duplicated triangle. And right-click Transform Reflect. We need to reflect it over the horizontal line. This way, we got two triangles. Just put shun them properly. It looks like a compass, but we will be removing some shapes. Just select these two triangles and group them together. Right-click group. And now just copy the triangles and rotate it by 45-degree. Just right-click, arrange, transform and rotate. This provide a 45-degree and hit. Okay. So here we have created the triangles at discovering all the edges of the polygon. Because we will be drawing the shape that has similar trick sites. So similarly, just apply the same effect multiple times. Here we will be requiring eight triangles covering all the vertices of the polygon. So this is our shape. And then select everything in the art world. The polygon and the triangle and go to shape builder tool will be removing some components that we don't require actually. So either you can remove the part you don't require, or you can go to select the parts that URI mean. So we have selected the inner part and then hold oil key and hover around with your left. Click on the mouse to remove the components that we don't mean. There will be removing the outer sides of the triangle, as well as the center. We are left with a good shape. There are, could be some selections that you won't see with a normal resolution. So you can always zoom in and select the components that you want to. Just raise the control. Plus, I can zoom in the art board and then simply remove the section you don't want. Sometimes it could be a tiny selection. So just zoom in. These are the triangles are different shapes that has been created over the intersection of multiple segments. You can remove these shapes or you can leave few of them. Because we want the complete transparency. Just go to Selection Tool and apply any failed to this shape. Lighter shade of gray would work here. But it is a mechanical component. Must be vibrant. Just place a circle here towards the center and provide any color here. You can also apply shape builder with the circle. And they move the center part to create a transparent vector. Or when you are creating an image, you can simply apply some circular that we haven't removed diner section. That's not a problem. So this is a simple mechanical waves. In a similar way, you can create all the mechanical objects and anything you want to keep learning, keep moving ahead. And we created. 15. Getting started with Image Tracing: Hi, welcome back friend here in this practical exercise you're learning about image trace, function and Adobe Illustrator. Let's do it. This is a beginner level lesson. So here we will. We just learning how to trace an image. So let's take an object image of a banana. It is shot with a simple DSLR with a plain background. You can take any image for tracing. Here the lightning was cooler so the color looks a little bit gray. So don't worry, we will trace everything. So tracing allows you to render an image into different vector forms. So actually an image is a pixel that pixel form. And you can convert it into vectors and can use it anywhere from animations to VFX and a lot of different domains. You can use it for graphic design and other function. So just go to Windows and select Image Trace option to trace an image. Once you have placed an image, you have to go to Image Trace option. There are multiple ways to get to the tracing option. You can also choose the workspace for tracing, or you can manually draw it from Windows. So when you try to trace in the default way, it will do with the alpha channel. Otherwise, you've got a lot of presets to choose from. So there are various options, high-fidelity, low-fidelity, multiple colors, shapes of color, and so on. So let's choose six color race option. So it will trace an image and convert it into vectors with six different colors. When you increase the number of colors, it will trace it in a better way. So this is the final image that we have generated. You can change the number of colors from the toggle switch, or you can manually provide the number of colors you want. So more number of colors, we'll add more detail to your image. With less number of colors would be less detailed. So our banana retrace banana when we trace with the least number of colors, it looks like an animated game from '80s or '90s. When we used to play various schemes. In the '90s day. The games were designed by tracing real-world objects and convert into vectors that has been used for animation purposes. These days. There are advanced CGI method, so it is not used. Retracing is used for graphic design. So you can perform various tracing options here. You can choose different presets are based on your requirement. You can go with anyone. When you choose a larger number of colors. It will be detailed. And simply few designers choose less fidelity to get little details. Psi, I say here we've got dots on the banana. If you want to remove, you can remove it. In the coming exercises you're learning more about Tracing Options in Illustrator. To keep learning and keep practicing. 16. Improving image tracing: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson you're learning more options about crazy. Let's do it. So here's just a different image. This time, we handle object image, offer to matter. The white background isolated, where we can trace it in three different ways. First, you got to trace option right on the dashboard. So you can trace, but it will trace in their default settings. So alpha is default. Another way is to choose a workspace, or you can choose our tracing work is space and you've got all the options that you get from Windows for tracing on the right-hand side. So here we can trace it in two different ways. We've got multiple presets. So let's trace in six color. When we trace in six color, doesn't look very good, although there are only two colors, but different shades of the color are important. So a tomato is in red color with the white background with different shadows. So let's try different tracing method. When you increase the number of colors in your image, it will add more details. Although all, everything will be in vector. So no need to worry about the size. They're regard with tracing with 12 colors. So you can increase the color or you can change your different way. So when you want to have 256 colors, you can go with high fidelity settings preset. So when you trace in the high-fidelity, it will keep 256 colors for an image, the vector format. So it will take a little bit more time than six trees and other, it looks almost identical to the pixelated version of the image, but it is not a pixel form, it is a vector form. We can take the low fidelity. It will be similar, but with less colors. So it looks like oil painting. It is very well-decorated image, so you can get a very detailed difference between the colors and shades. It almost looks like an oil colored or wax. Kind of look when you want to create an image or a graphics design. With hover, which happened in oil, paint color or waxy look. You can go with a low-fidelity tracing. When you trace with a three color or very few color in the image, looks like an alpha channel or something from outer space or very low resolution. So it doesn't work. So here, you can choose black and white with height range of gray scale. Colors of gray scales are also important when you want to add details. Something, sometimes you might require a vintage look. Old vintage would be better incorporated with a black and white changed. At that point of time. You can go with that. Otherwise, you've got different presets as well. If color on custom alpha channel animal. Once you have tried all the presets and just cry all the presets, different presets applied on various kinds of images. I'm using an object photographing with an isolated background. You can also take a different background. I've taken the isolated object image because it will have generally one kind of monotonous colors. So Banana was in yellow and shades of yellow. So the tracing would be a proper way. It will require less number of colors, that will give us a better research. So tracing with six or 12 colors for a banana with isolated objects would be easy and distinguishable when compared to some noisy background with multiple colors, because the background will also require tracing as well. Otherwise, you can just crop an image out and trace the thing you want. Actually, just try every preset and keep learning and keep moving ahead. You're learning more about racing and the coming exercises. 17. Recolor artwork part-1: Hi, welcome back friends. Around this lesson, you'll learn in advance tracing, option and illustrator. So here we will be not just tracing an image, we will changing the entire color scheme of the image. So here we have an image of a monkey family. Here is an MCAT monkey family from South Asia. Will we just cropping this image to take the selection of only monkeys? We don't want everything from the background. A little bit. Background is okay, but not everything. So just put in a scar in which we can create a poster out of this image. Here we got this thing and just relocate aerial imagery, position it accordingly. Data full-size, fair? You know what to do next, just go to Image Trace option, selected image. And here we will be using low-fidelity trace option. So when we trace with a low-fidelity, it will have 256 colors. Here. It will be tracing it. So just have a look how the result is generated. Great. Take a few little time. Based on your processor. Generator and oil painting like vector. It will look almost identical to the original image, but it looks like it has been painted. That differentiates. We have the monkey family. It looks very pretty. So when we want to create a poster, see with monkeys and blue color or green color, I'll select all five. Differentiate how you can rekindle the art. So you need to follow a few steps in order to recolor your artwork. First, you would require to Create Outlines, then ungroup. Then we will we recollect the artwork. So don't worry, just follow the steps accordingly. So here we can check other tracing methods as well. So you can trace. So earlier arbiter, low-fidelity trace, you were to 56 colors. So it will be very tedious work to recolor all the colors, say here regenerated in six color. So six color would be easy to repaint. This brown shade of the color doesn't look very good. But when we have to design a poster, it will be helpful. There we can generate outlines. Why this option? We can create outlines for the shape. Outlines without a shape. Just go to the outline which shape. Next. We just need to expand the option. And it is next to the outline view. There is an Expand option. You just need to click on Expand. So when you click Expand, it will allow you to ungroup and re-color artwork. So just right-click and image and do ungroup. 18. Recolor artwork part-2: After we have ungrouped various components, now it's time to re-color the art work. You can go to re-color option placed next to this color option. Here you got six different colors because we have crazed any major with six colors one-by-one, we will be changing the color of this color component of this image. Here, just go to the new color option. Just double-click it to change the color. Just reposition your artwork option so that your image would be clearly visible. So you can decide what color to choose. So let's try with a green color scheme. So just take a darker color and replace it with a darker shade of a different color. So here we are replacing it with a green color. So this one by one, moving a little bit closer to the brighter shades, you can copy the hex code of the image and just remove the color point. Color selection option a little bit towards the brighter tones. This way we have changed three colors. You can follow your own technique of choosing the color. You can go to the color schemes from websites like color.adobe.com or anywhere else. So I were doing it in a simple manner. So here we got a green monkeys. We have changed the color sheets. It looks real image with a different color, shade, green color. Well, when you want to design a poster, you can use it. Even in some branding consciousness is campaigns. You can also use. After you have changed your color and saved it, the new color will be overwritten. Next time. When you want to change the color. The original color won't be available anymore. So now let's replace it for the blue colors because we want to create a final blue monkey posture. Here, I'll just do the same thing. Replace dark shade of green but dark shade of blue and light shade of green to light shade of blue. A better way is to choose a combination of blue and a little bit indigo or violet color that we're using a combination of these two colors, midtones, between these things, there will be repainting. You can also go with her to hair color or 16 color fidelity. So in that case, you want to change, there are different ways, different colors. But it finally, which would be more decent looking. Depends on your projects and your ideas. So this way you can create, I've always wondered how people easily create this kind of posters. But now we know how to do it. Suggests take any shots, go to the void and just replace the colors of everything you see. Here we have created or saved monkey campaigns for the blue color of monkeys. You can highlight different entities. Say here eyes and face with an emphasis. And you can write different text here, writing a blue monkey texts. And just change the color from black to white so it will visible in this background. So select the text. You can change the font the way you want or anything you want to do. So try out different things and just practice it. Go to the real-world and design your own posters. With image tracing. This is we can use the project files. You practice these skills in case you have. You want a revision of anything. Otherwise, keep learning and keep moving. 19. Clipping Mask and poster: Hi, welcome back friend. Here in this lesson, you're learning how to trace an image of a mic on, create a clipping mask, and then a booster of this mic. So let's do it. So just go to a grazing workspace, select this image and trace it. You can create it using different presets. Low fidelity would be a better quality image. It will look like an oil image. You can alternatively trace using different presets, safe color, 12 color, and a different color fidelity, even in gray color and alpha channels. So let's go with 16 color modality. Now. We'll be creating an outline of this image because we don't want the Trace background of gray scale to appear in our posture. We just need this condenser mike inner poster. So you can do it in different way. You can either go with Photoshop and use the Lasso Tool. Lasso tool is also available in Illustrator. I will be using a pen to Moscow. This mic. I'll just place it. The points accordingly vary. One, I'm just roughly growing it. Some components may overlap. This is simple, cut out. It doesn't require any high AND skill. Sometimes you may have complex images. So it will be better to use Lasso Tool instead of using pen tool. Just get the selection. Go to the selection tool, select the background, as well as this new shape and right-click clip mask. So here we've got a clipping mask of this mic. So what does a clipping mask for those who don't know? Clipping mask is a common mask of an image where you click a boundary of an object from the background. So here we have a technically cropped this mic from the background. So we wanted a vector Mike. Now, so that's why we use tracing. You can create state over to the background. I'm going to expand any background. So here we have drawn a rectangle with a white color background. Just reposition it accordingly to the size of a poster or an invitation God you want to do is act. I will be designing a poster for an open mic stand up comedy show. So you can place a condenser mic on the right-hand side or either the left-hand side. So this mike is facing towards, inclined towards the left-hand side. So I'll placing our text on the left side. Just use the text tool. Resize your text so that it is visible to the audience. So just type anything here, I'm tapping open mic and just re-scale it. Just increase the size. And you go to the selection tool and reposition it the way you want. You can also separate text. I'll say open and Mike in different lines. So you can edit the font, the font size, and editing you want. Just take this simple font. That's it. You can also put some more details like renew our time, the performance of the event, which is diverging, say 04:00 P.M. this is the time of David. But anything you want. Right? After that, we will be using extracting the same color scheme from the mic using the eyedropper tool. Just go to the eyedropper tool. Take any color from the mike, said we'll look decent enough. Though. A golden shade would work here. Because our condenser mic is off golden shade. It has a different colors. Reusing the same choice of colors. So it takes the, could be written in, either in dark color, are in the light color, but it must be reversed off the background. Here we got a lighter, moderate light colored background. You can take a darker color. Just select your mike and replace that color. So try creating your own poster images. Use increasing and clipping mask. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 20. How to use Envelop distort?: Hi friends. Welcome to this lesson where you're going to learn about Envelope Distort a popular texts. Transformation takes me less place. An image. Here we have an object image of a banana. So we will writing texts into the surface of banana. And we will be scaling or text using the mesh tool to fill the shape of the banana. This way you can distort your character and your letters in the shape of a banana. And you can replace it and use it in various graphic design and designing projects. So just simply write a text. Here I'm writing a banana. You can always change the font, is tiling, the color, and various character and paragraph options are there. To perform it. It's just reposition your text almost in the middle of your shape so that it can equally be distorted. Now just go to the object, will need to just re-scale it properly, the horizontal and the vertical plane so that it won't cross the outline after she. But no need to worry, even if your work doesn't fit articulately in your shape, you can re-scale anytime later. So just go to Object, Envelope Distort and go to Mac with a mesh. Here. You need to provide number of rows and columns. You can go with the default options or provide your own set of values. So here we have more, we need a more columns. So just provide a six columns and less number of rows. Compare two columns. So just four rows. It will be easy to distort. I don't provide a higher number of rows and columns. Then you require, because it will be difficult to distort everything and even less number of values don't make a pleasant distortion. So we just select the points using the selection tool and just re-scale your mesh. Just a single click and you can also double-click and re-scale on to the left arm, hold and drag simply to readjust. You can fill the entire shape this way and you can also use a combination of texts, say multiple lines and multiple words, or even a paragraph to fill an entire ship. But another very small object. So you may have a complex system like an industry building car, or any mechanical things or anything that looks complex like Crete. Where you will require a lot number of texts. Here, you can see that N and a characters are stretched over the lower columns, rows v and a, Over the both horizontal and vertical layout plane. Where the middle characters a and n are expressed only on the vertical axis. Horizontal. You can equally is fridge each character to fill the entire shape. You can also increase the depth and area of your first character. Now to create a camelCase or something like that. Or you can focus your idea when you're using multiple texts. You can obviously increase the size of the highlighted text or reduce the size of less important text. So you just need to replace the shape with the server. You can always off even after edit, you can change the font. Styling option. It depends on your choice. You can go with any font or you can create your own font as well. That's a time for another lesson. But here, just change the color of your text. Here. Banana comes usually in green and yellow color, and we here have a yellow banana. Banana. So we just need to change the color of our text to something identical to this banana. It may have a yellow shade or yellow texture. To just use the Eyedropper tool, you can use the eyedropper tool to pick the color from the shape as well. You can turn off the original picture visibility so that you can fill this shape. The benefit of using this envelope distort is that you can identify an object without even looking at objects. Just reading a text won't make complete sense. You can distort your texts in the shape of an object. So not everyone who knows the spelling of banana or understand what is banana, but anyone can understand what is written without even reading what is written. This is the power of analytics dot here you can see it is yellow colored, distorted in the shape of banana and a text is root n. So enjoy this thing. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 21. Type on a path: Hi friends, welcome back. In this lesson, you will be learning about writing texts or shape or apart. So you're just draw any shape here or you can use a pen tool or the curvature tool. I'm using the curvature tool to draw simple part in the correct manner. Use the selection tool after you have drawn your shape and just change your fill. The null. We don't want our shape to appear. That we can just change the color of the stroke as well as fill to none. If you want your shape, outline to appear, you can keep the stroke color. So when you try to write any texts on the surface, it won't appear. Just go to Text tool and select the type on a path tool, and simply click on the surface of your texts of your part. So it will create some random strings. Lorem ipsum dolor sit MA, or you can replace it with your own texts. So just double-click and type anything you want. Simply. Now, we can just write anything on the spot. It will follow this part. Here you see the magic. This way you can simply create a lot of designing effects using text, followed by any part that you define. So you don't need to write vertical and horizontal texts are just change the degree. You can also invert it. Here. You got three lines. The center line, it looks like a right angle triangle. You can just click it and just simply drag it towards the left or the right side. Similarly, the first line, perpendicular line, you can keep it towards the left side or right side. So it will define where your texts exactly needs to begin writing. Don't need to write a big text over the entire part. If your text is small and your part is large enough to cover everything, you can just reposition your tastes to the desired location. Similarly, when you hit the last point of your last perpendicular line of your curve text, it will just drag your texts towards the left side. So anything written after that last line, it won't appear to your audience. So you can use all these three perpendicular lines and write anything on any shape suggests. Reposition it towards the left-hand side, and then draw any shape, a circle. You can draw a star polygon, add any shape, and see that we can write anything on the shape as well. Just change the fill to null. We don't want any stroke. If you want, you can just have a stroke a little bit. Use the same type on path tool. And you can just write anything on this part, just right. Some kind of random text or anything circular texts. You may have wondered like sometimes the who votes off or anything in school or university logos are designed this way using the circular text part. So they draw a circle and keep the texts over the surface, over the part of the same circle. You can change the radius of your circle anytime you want. You can make it oval, you can stretch it down. You will also follow the same path. You can reposition your texts inverted. Just play with these three perpendicular lines and try to be creative. Draw various part linear code, but different shapes. Even you can use a combination of shapes. You can draw a cloud of multiple circles using Shape Builder Tool. You can put your text over the Cloud. Now be innovative, try new ideas. And the more practice you do, the whole thing you will learn. So just do these things. You can do a lot of thing with writing texts on a part. So just use this tool to create amazing designs and illustrations. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 22. Area type and knife: Hi, welcome back friend here on this lesson, going to learn and amazing typographic technique that is called area type tool. So you can create any shape or even a text and just fill it with random texts that will cover the entire boundary or outline of the shape. Just write any texts. Here I will writing a smaller string that is t. There's a delight For India on British people around the globe. A lot of people enjoy tea, so just have a smaller string, t. So we just need to re-brand is text by using a typographic techniques. So what do we need to do? You can select an adequate font. First, rescale your texts to the large size, and then right-click and create outlines. So this way we can separate each and every text and every letter and we'll be animating each one of them. You can also ungroup them to get an individual selection. So here I will be selecting one-by-one. Just go to the first text, use the knife tool and make a cut. Just right in the middle of this segment. We just don't write and complete area text. We just need to replace a small segment with some color or a text. So here you can change the color of your selection. So here we have used a knife to just again, the last letter E in the inclined manner, you can do a curtain a different way, say just hover somewhere, I cut out the incline way. It will look very attractive. Either audience. So just go to the selection tool and just drag your texts little bit outward here. Firstly, you can change the color. You can also use the eyedropper tool or from the selection. So just let us change it to the blue color. The segment of the last letter a. And deselect here we have created are just two segments. You can also replace each one of them or put any texts suggest you to selection tool. And we are just writing some text. Well, the first letter. Just a little bit. Move it towards the left-hand side on the a in the ninja way. Outside of the art world. We've got this thing, right? You look your product from the viewers point of view. So that way you can judge your graphic design or illustration technique. Let's have occurred over the middle character E. What do you can do? You think out-of-the-box? Just do any random selection? Don't be, don't be synchronized or sync with each character. So when you try to cut segments out of each letter, so they must not be identical. The size must be different, the shape must be different, the effect must be different. So here we have just three letters out with different segments. Now it's time to refill with the area type tool. Go to the Type Tool and hold it for a time and you gotta area selection. Click it, and just change the font size to the way you want. Say 12 points would be better. In this case, you can use anything and just type anything. You are using the t. So just write p multiple times. So you can write it multiple times or you can just copy it again and again. So let's fill this segment with some random string. Just copy and paste the same thing and fill the entire shape. Use the font size adequately because you don't want your font to not cover the entire shape. You should cover the shape. It must not be very small or very large, because if you make your text very small, it won't be readable. If you make it very large, it won't fill the shape. So keep it properly sized. There we have just replaced one segment of the T. You can use it with wide range of illustrations. Say if you want to present our media illustration with a newspaper font or something like that, you can use this kind of graphic design taken it in the media. A lot of people also use in blocks and other things. You can also omit some shape and don't replace it. Don't repress just everything with text. Just keep a few segment to be colored or they simply in different way. You can follow multiple styling techniques and just practice it. Select any shape, select any object. You can also use the tracing methods. Create outlines of some segment using a knife to replace it with a different strings. This practice, this. You will be amazed how creative designs you can create with this technique. So it may look small, but it is very interesting way to create a good, nice illustrations. I keep learning and keep practicing. 23. Create a clipping mask: Hi, welcome back friend. Here. In this lesson, we're going to learn about creating and clipping masks. Clipping mask is a technique to extract some kind of shape or I outlined or out of a background image. So here we have a background image of a sunset scene from a cruise ship. And we want to extract this shape into the shape of a cloud, loud made up of a circle. So we'll just do one thing. Just draw a circle and let's learn how to create a clipping mask. You can draw any shape over an image, select all, both of them, the circle and the background, and right-click and make clipping mask. It is as simple as that. So here we have flip a Moscow, Idaho background image based on a certain shape. So this way, we can use a complex shapes like Cloud. We can create Cloud using the Shape Builder tool that we're going to do. Just hold and drag this circle smaller size, and just duplicate it on, place it on one other. Here we need a four circles. We will end. We could enlarge or any of them to create a shape of a cloud. On just also put a rectangle here in the bottom. We will join all these shapes together to make a cloud. And we'll make a clipping mask off this time. Just increase the size of the circle and go to the shape will select all these things are hold down the Shift key and one-by-one, select all the shapes you want to join. And go to the Shape Builder tool here. And just hover around with a left-click to select a particular sections of a shape. So we have drawn, created a new shape using the shape builder tool. Now we will clip, mask, deselect everything. So you could do a mistake if you don't select, just remember to select both the layer and right-click clip mask. So here we have master our background image into the shape of a cloud. The similar way, you can draw various complex shapes like trees. Computer's camera, anything you want, you can extract and create a clipping mask or double background image. The clipping mask allows you to create something good illustrations. And that can be used for various web graphic design. And you can also design magazines or posters or anything you want with the clipping mask and living well as a powerful tool. And just go into the wild and just use a wide range of images that you shoot. Your travel images, your memories, your personality measures anything, and just apply clipping mask using different shapes. You can also create some vectors that can be used for animation or motion graphic projects, like a wedding video or anything like that. So clipping mask is taking that content into play. So just select the background. Here we place a rectangle to draw a poster and add a scene. So we have just extracted the same color scheme out of the background image. You can choose anything, any color reward. So this way you can draw a poster. It can be used for social media sites such as Instagram. This clipping mask is widely used by influencers and travel influencers and bloggers who present your idea. You can also extract something like this. You can draw a shape like Eiffel Tower, our Golden Gate Bridge, and put the background image and extract it. The San Francisco extracted in the shape of a Golden Gate Bridge or Paris, is Kyla and extracted the Eiffel Tower. Looking very decent. Clipping mask is a powerful thing. Just go and play with it. With more practice. You will learn more things. And you can be a great designer and illustrator. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. 24. Create a Photo mask: Hi, welcome back friend here on this lesson you are going to learn how to create a photo mask in Adobe Illustrator. Let's do it. Photomask is similar to the clipping mask. The process is same. Here we abstract picture are sub-components as a text out of the picture. So here I was short of beautiful while Linus are moving into the tropical jungle. Now, I live travel photography. So I took this shot a one-year back On. This is an amazing short of a tiger. I want to design a poster for wildlife photographing. So here I will just duplicate this background here on Crop one section of this limb. I will be putting some texts, will say wildlife into two lines. And we'll create a clipping mask out of that. I will just do the clipping mask process here into the bamboos. So it's better to just decide this section of the image you want to mask. So here I just want to put some texts right in front of the eyes of this line. So just select the type tool and write your texts. So here I write wildlife. It has a long text. I can separate it into two lines to make it visible and just select any color, but it depends on your choice. It will eventually be converted into the mask. So the color doesn't matter here. Just use the selection tool to select both of the texts. Change the font accordingly. There are going to show the wildlife and carnivorous animals. So it's better to go with some pick a font that will look amazing for magazine cover, like National Geographic Discovery projects. So just select something like that. Here's a font that looks good. You can also create your own font if you like. And get all your O4 and font. So here we've got this wildlife text. Now you can stretch it a little better. We'll do vertical, horizontal axis. Depending on your scenario. Here, I can stretch it vertically. So just copy this, select this background photo of this line. Just crop it. So I want to select this particular section. You can enlarge value. I just want to get just next to the line because I want to emphasize that this line is coming out of the jungle or this is showing the wildlife. We have crop that image. Select the background image and your texts, make a clipping mask. So here we have just created a clipping mask of this text. We can stretch it vertically to fill the entire screen. You can also crop this thing. You can put something in the background. Here I want to put some white rectangle and place it behind the text wildlife. You can also turn the opacity a little bit less to make it a little bit transparent. Velocity to be white or anything like that, provide a fill color on it and go to the Layers panel and keep this white rectangle in the background. We want this texture that looks very decent. Poster or a magazine cover or a flyer. You can create a flyer out of this time. You can create a wide array of four tanks with the clipping mask or the photo mask. Just go into the wild. Play with images, are taught you a few techniques to do this thing. I hope that you learned something useful in this class. All the best to your design and illustration carrier. Keep learning and keep moving ahead. Just be creative. 25. Conclusion: Hi, How's it going? Nice time to practice all the lessons you learned in this class.
