1. Introduction: Welcome to this class on realistic skin painting basics in Procreate. In this class, we will focus on building a strong foundation for painting natural, Bliable skin tones using simple and practical techniques. Whether you are beginner or someone who already has some experience with digital art, this class is designed to help you better understand how to scan works in terms of color, light, and texture. We will using Procreate as our main tool, but principles you will learn here can be applied to any digital painting software. The goal is not just follow steps, but to understand why skin looks the way it does and how to create that effect in your own artwork. Throughout the lessons, we will start with basics, choosing the right brushes and understanding colors. Then we will move into studying skin tones and avoid flood or dull results. You will learn how to substate shifts in hue temperature and saturation that make skin look alive. We will explore lighting and shading, which are essential for creating deep and realism. By the end of this class, you will have a better understanding of how to approach realistic second paintings and confidence to apply these techniques in your own projects. This class is all about learning through practice. So feel free to take your time, pause when needed, and revisit any section. Let's get started. 2. Create Base Colors: Welcome. In this class, we will paint realistic skin. At first, create the gray scale background for our painting. Then select ellipse and create one ellipse to the middle. Then select the darker brush like skin brush and apply over it. It will be the base color. So after it, tap one time to the layer and Alpha. And after Alpha log, be sure you are using airbrush and define the shadow parts of the painting. For example, this part of the painting is darker parts, and these parts are much more lighter. So this part is the light part of our skin, and these parts are reflected light. And you can make your shadows much more saturated and, for example, like this. And I will select a lighter brush for skin texture, and I will start by adding manually skin. At the highlight area, we paint the texture of the skin, and the textures are really visible at the light area. So you be sure that you are adding many details to the light parts because at light parts, it creates highlights and shadows because light comes from the left top and it creates a really good amount of detail. For example, I'm putting these little tiny details here. And after it, you can add some much more saturated colors here for much more interesting look and zooming than try to add the skin texture manually like this. And 3. Painting Details of Skin: Will be tiny details and it will follow the surface. In this painting, it is squared like circle, so it will surround the skin texture like this. We will create a circle in it just like this. And it starts from this angle and continue like the small details. And the top of it will be the textures of the skin. And as I say, these corners has idle less detail. And you can paint freckles or these lidle tiny details, which gives your skin texture much more realistic look. And at the light part, we have the second texture, but in darkness, we will see it much more less visible. For example, these parts will be less textured, small textures around here. And I will open another new layer and will change the layer mode to color. And I will select a bit much more saturated colors and we'll add these colors around these corners. Just like it will add our painting really good and warm effect and open another new layer and select overlay. With overlay, we will add much more saturated color here by selecting the middle tone and like this. And let's zoom in again, and I will paint the idel details for shadows of the skin. And at this part, do not rush. Just try to continue and build your skin. 4. Adding Micro Details: Welcome again. At this part, I selected the skin texture brush. And if you don't have this brush, you can use any spray brush or some textured brush. With overlay mode, I'm applying this brush into skin slowly, and I'm not pressing harder to my Apple pencil. I'm slowly building it just like this. I'm adding the small details of it. And after this, select the lighter color and continue to adding details. Just like this. Here will be much more saturated, and these textures will be much more visible. And if you are painting old man or woman, there will be wrinkles. But if you are painting a young or semi aged figure, it can be flat, but if you add this texture, your painting will look much more better. I'm increasing the detail level here with these small details. Just like this. And this part can be much more lighter. Yeah, I will select very smooth brush again, and I will continue to add these lightle tiny details. And these kind of details will bring much more realism into our painting just like this. I'm adding small but effective details that pop ups the detail level of the illustration. And at some parts, you can make it literally effect. For example, at some parts, some skin particles are looking, so we brand and like shiny dots, like litters. And with this way, it makes the surface much more alive, and you can even add the water drops if it's wet or something, and it will look much more slippery. And I will add small details here, just a bit much more small details here to complete the illustration and see you in the next step. 5. Complete Illustration: Welcome again. At this part, I will select freckle brushes, and I will open the overlay layer again and we'll put some particles here. And these particles will give us a really good skin look like burn. And if you have some I mean, like dirt brush or something. It will be useful for this part, and I will use another skin brush. I'm pretty sure you have some different kind of skin brushes. So you can follow this class and add your own details to do your own illustration. And let's add much more small details here, like glows and the different details. And these details will be much more visible here. And I'm adding idle details around to this reflected light area and this area. And these details is really important for bring the realism and realistic results. For example, I am adding these small brush strokes here for bring the really realistic look for our illustration. And this part, of course, will be much more detailed here. And this part. Because light brings the detail. Don't forget it. And I'm adding some small particles here to show the detail level of the illustration. At some points you can paint randomly lines like this. This kind of details creates really good amount of texture. And if you continuously paint it, it creates the really good king texture, just like this. Yes, it brings us a really good amount of detail, and I will add much more highlights around these corners and maybe these parts are much more detailed, just like this and like this. And you can zoom in and add some extra volume to the these particles to make skin much more treedy and thanks a lot for joining this quick class and can't wait for see your own projects.
