1. Introduction to KY Course: Hi. Welcome to this course. Thanks for coming onto this course about kundalini Yoga is complete introduction to kundalini again. So that means you don't need to have any prior knowledge or experience off either kundalini yoga or even yoga. If you do have some experience off one or other both of those, you'll still find it really useful. I found country years ago has absolutely transformed my life. It's clarified my mind. Give me great peace of mind and also give me, like lots and lots of energy on lots of clarity in my life. So I can't recommend this enough. So welcome to this course on sea on the next video. 2. What is Yoga?: Hi. So what exactly is yoga? If you're new to yoga, you might want to know. What exactly does it mean? A lot of people have some misunderstandings or misconceptions of what you're is because, you know, we've seen it on the magazine cover Someone looking very cool in the Lear ITAR where you've seen it in the gym, on incontinent Diego. We're bringing you go right back to the roots. So it's a really comprehensive, systematic approach on yoga. The word comes from the word yoke, which was used in agriculture. Teoh, too, which means to join, actually comes from the Sanskrit word do got, which means to join. I often hear balancing the body and mind on things like this, but that's very true. We are trying to, in a sense, essentially enjoying the body and mind. But actually there is actually no separation between the body in the mind, but more profound than that included in your This is a spiritually practice. It's not religious or anything like that. But you know, we are spiritual beings having a human experience, as your QB John would say, Who brought this yoga to the West? So it's about getting in touch of that spiritual nature joining up awareness, you might sell conscious attention with the greater awareness which might even call that the cosmic intelligence, You know, that is, that's a profound shift and leads ultimately to it. A state, if you might call it bless, you might call it illumination might call that enlightenment, but yeah, but no, not that is actually the call of yoga. It's not just about stretching or, you know, being really fit and healthy. You will get really fit and healthy. You will get a really clear mind and lows of energy on lots of lots of wonderful things can happen as a result during country in here go. But ultimately the goal is actually to achieve, You know, a oneness without true greats itself, and there's nothing more important for found that we can actually do in our life. So that's what yoga is on. If you want to know more about what Kundalini yoga is as opposed to yoga, and I'll see you on the next video 3. What is Kundalini Yoga?: was brought to the West in 1969 by a guy called Yogi Region, and he was from India, as you might expect, but unusually, he was actually from the Punjab region where the Sikhs are prevalent. Andi came with this amazing practice which really blew away a lot of the practices of yoga that were around then and even now, because it's just so powerful. I was quite controversial because people who was saying you know, you're playing with fire or this is too advanced basically couldn't any longer. We give away the secret straightaway, like right away. We give away really fine stuff right away. Getting between was like, No, this is a direct approach, you know? Why do we have to spend 10 years building ourselves up until already? You know, eyes And he's had we have very problems that that so it is really open practice. How does it work with a with a country in the energy in yoga, on in kundalini yoga, specifically the continent and energy is your life force okay with the life force animates your body that animates the universe and it comes up through the spine. And it brings a great sense of stillness on profound connection to a spirit. Andi is just absolutely amazing. So we used a mantra in kundalini yoga. Teoh start every practice. So we'll do that now if you'll sit uncomfortably in the nice straight spine. Just taking some deep breaths whilst doing that. It's probably best to start so, but the faster you get, the breath and the more energy that you start to generate in the belly in. That's the fire in the belly that we used to invigorate our bodies. Minds incontinent yoga. So it's up to you. But you want might want to start. Sorry. So let's give it a go. Let's just sit in a nice straight spine. Closed the eyes on, bring the breath of fire in. - That's a key. Grab it longer. If you are going slow, you might want to speed up so much. My rhythm. Final few seconds. Nice. Don't finish. You know how. Hold the brand. Stay nice to relax. Thanks so good. And just take a few moments just to breathe. Not truly into feelings. The body feeling how alive you feel now. Thank you. And that's the breath of fire. 6. Spinal Flex: in case of the most basic exercise were using condemning you guys called the Spinal Flex we like. We like to flex the spine liquidity. You go to get some of that cerebral spinal fluid moving up through the spine. Also activating are central nervous system on ultimately the continent any energy itself. So it's a really amazing, powerful exercise. We usually do it sitting down cross legged or sitting on the heels, but you could do it sitting on a chair. So this getting that right hand on the shin, the left hand crossing over on holding the shin. Sorry, that right hand on the ankle left on the shin and we just inhaling forward and neck standing back. So what I'm doing is I'm putting myself forward to the chest, comes over the shoulders, come back through the nose, exile arms straight and pushing back in. How four x help You see the way my party is making Nice to see shapes the spine so head stays quite central, but it's just the upper body that moves, even paying for it exhaling. But that's what we do. You just find a nice, steady rhythm breathing through the nose if you can. That's good. No, I study rhythm, nice and study. And then when you get higher, you can close the eyes really feeling into the palace, Really feeling into the spine, opening up the chest. Once you got the hang of it, you can maybe to speed up the rhythm a little bit. Then take a nice deep breath. Finish is hold that breath. Look, the eyes. You just feel into the body for a few moments. Feeding effects that the spinal effects has on the spine has on the whole body has on your mind Stick a moment and that's this final place. Thank you. 7. Spinal Twists: Okay, So another really powerful exercising kundalini yoga is the spinal twist sitting cross legged, placing the hands and topped the shoulders, and that arms made like a T shaped from all the journeys with twisting from the left or the right. As we twist the last, we can inhale through nose. And as we twist to the right, we could excel food and so inhaling left. Thanks, heading right. Just keep this by nice and straight. You just allowing the head to pivot there on the spine. And it's a simple is that when you already can just keep a nice dating with them and always in heading left, extending right? Just keep that rhythm. It's feeding into the spine. Moses, listen, relax really nice and open if you like. After a while, you can speed that with a beautiful bit. I have a really powerful breath. Just take a moment just to come back to a nice, relaxed breathing Hansen to feel into your center, feeding into the effects that the exercise has on your body has on your state of mind. When you're ready, you can come out. Thanks very much. That's the spinal twist. 8. Shoulder Shrugs: in case we then the Spinal Flex and we've done the spinal twist. So we're being getting some energy moving up through the spine, which is what kundalini yoga is all about. And now. So we're getting it to the shoulders, and we want to open up the shoulders so you can just lift up the shoulders and then allow them to drop down as you raise the shoulders that come in hell. And as you allow their shoulders to drop, you could just excel. So simple is that in how lifting, lifting, lifting, feeding into ALS muscles except power for power for you to let go of inattention. You know how Hexcel that's. It's like dropping all your weight, all the tension. Let it leave your shoulders, let it leave your body. Good finish. We could just speed up the rhythm, really relaxed in how raising the shoulders up towards the ears and hold that breath that excel. Relax the shoulders down. Just take a few nice seat breaths, completely relaxing the shoulders, letting go. Good feelings, the whole body. But I get it. That's the shoulder, shrugs 9. Neck Rolls: Okay, so on. I'll journey of getting that kundalini energy rising up through the body, rising up through the Central Party that it takes within the spine, which we called Sue Sham record. We're getting up to the throat centre on into the area of alarm muscles in the neck. That is a lot to do with opening out the gate weights of communication. Okay, so and it's a high awareness, so we're just going to allow that head to drop back. You can allow that Jewell to drop open and then very slowly with relax shoulders, hands on the knees. Just bring that head over the left shoulder. You might want to take a nice deep breath into all the muscles in the shoulder than X hell . Just let it draw over. But just in how XO really slowly, slowly allow that had to drop over the right shoulder and take a deep breath in excellent away round. Good and again, just a kit released in 80 breeding with full awareness. And so all the muscles in your neck, which support the weight all of your head. Oh, opening, breathing, fully experiencing but relaxing and wiping of all those muscles in the neck. Good. Let's just go around one more time. Oh, feel so good. Thank you 10. Sat Kriya: Okay, so the last thing I really want to share with you, the last physical exercise is called South Korea. Now sat means truth and create means. A set of exercises, usually but Sac Ri. It is unique because it's just one exercise. So it is kind of like the cornerstone of kundalini yoga, you might say, and actually allegedly for the first year that Yogi. But John went to North America to Canada and the United States. All he talked was this exercise, because it's just so amazing. It's so powerful. It does everything that Clinton in the yoga does but really in a condensed form. So it's a really good exercise for you to take away, to take home and practice to really get a sense of what kind of yoga is all about on that, you know, essentially about getting this energy rising up through the spine, waking your body and awake in our mind and lifting our hearts and minds up so we can feel this sense of our true, authentic self, which we might cause the spirit or higher self or higher consciousness just tuned into high awareness. Basically, So that's what Zachary it is that's what Zachary it does. In case it was sitting on the heels of sit, That's if you can on we just bring in the hands. Hands together. Andi. Uh, usually what we do is if where a man we take the right thumb over the left firm on. We just point the the index fingers and then just crossed the rest of the fingers over. And if your woman you just take the left them of the right thumb on, do the same so you should end up with the right little finger on the outside. So women have the left eye mover, right? So okay, and the Nam is you just relax the belly out. No. So as you current rebellion and say the words up on a nom as you relax the belly, okay, so we're not we're not breathing. When we're doing that, we just chancing in moving the muscles in the belly whilst with chanting, Okay, what we could do is breathe in at the beginning and then chant to bring the neighborhood. No, As you relax, that's a simple is up. So we just basically cleansing them, the burly and muscles, and then relax in them. Clint's Relax, let's relax. But we don't as we chance at night. So no mom catch blocks naturalized. Okay, the breath actually up to you. But normally I breathe in the beginning, and then I chance that No. And then I might actually exhale a little bit more at the end. Okay, so that but the breath is up to you is it's meant to be self regulated. If that makes us so you get the hang of it. So I've told you everything. Let's dive right into it during the house together. Bring in the thumbs one over the other point index fingers crossed the rest, and we're just straight in the arms all the way up on um, and then see if you can straight to the arms right up and hug for years with the inner arms and can really lift up, right? It's high, high, high as you can. OK? And then just take a nice, deep breath. And then chance, son, is to bring the navel in a non as you bring the naval up se No, no good. No, no, no. So, no. No. So, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. So, no. So So keep your arms up. No, no. So, no, no. Keep projecting. No, no, no Energy rising. No, no. So no Through your chakras. No, no, no. If you all No, no, no, no. So no last few? No. Take a nice deep breath in, and then lift that the arms hires. You can bring the naval in nice and tight. Squeeze down on the pelvic floor and call that rude block. Exhale powerfully stressed the arms up and armed to the size way we go. Man, you can just relax 11. Meditation for a Calm Heart: Okay, So really, the whole purpose of kundalini yoga is to get so point where the service energy coming through the body, which generates a connection to the deeper parts of ourselves that we feel really good if you're really open who feel really relaxed if you really sent it before really connected as a Saito. A true, authentic self, Andi. And it just makes meditation automatic. Now it's all about getting to that point of meditation on. And so, hey, free by not just by doing those exercises you should. You should be a lot easier to meditate. So let's just see how we go on what we can do. Just place our left hands on our hearts sensor. Andi, take the right hand. Just bring the thumb and forefinger together. That's cool, G. And Rudra, just dropping the elbow is having the rest of the fingers in the on. This is a meditation for a nice, calm heart center, which is in this area of the chest. Okay, and when you're ready, you can just smiled gently and closed the eyes and breathe nice and relaxed in and out through the nose. If you have any trouble breathing for noses, finding to breathe through the mouth, just cultivating that sense of in a smile to match your active smile. Just feeling your hand on your heart center. Bring that sense of support in connection. I'm just tuning into the spaces between my works. I mean the spaces within. Your focus just be emanating. A sense of peace and love of all good things from your heart center. Just to give you a few moments is to continue that in silence has really tune into the silence that's within you on around you. - Just relaxing deeper and deeper. We've just deepening the breath a little bit. Okay, last deep breath. Just bring the hands together. And that's the meditation for a calm heart sensor. Just gives you a little introduction into how we meditate in Contrini ago. Thank you. 12. Tuning Out Mantra: So after we finished our set of exercises in kundalini yoga, which we call a create mixed means action, it's related to the word create. After we finished that, we chewed out to another mantra. So we say another mantra. In the beginning, we tune into only more good to have more, which is the added mantra, the first mantra Onda. We use Sat Nam to tune out. Now that now means truth is my identity. And it's this truth that we are connecting to in condemning the ago, which is our spiritual nature, which is before name and form. So Sat Nam is the mantra used to close. We have a long set as a team, like something the matter on a short now, which is like name and I am okay on so you can bring their hands together once more, bringing the thumb base of the thumb to the sternum. Keep a nice straight spine. Might just take in the chin very slightly and take a nice, deep breath. You can just Maybe this in the first time. I ah, um okay, don't give it a go. Take a nice deep in Hell project from the Naval Ah! Um ah ah! Ah! Uh, I need help. Ho dxl. Alas, thank you. That was Suddenly that's are closing, man Tree.
