1. Introduction: Hey guys. Did you ever want to learn more about a vector arts? Want to try to draw some vectors. But the complex interface and multitude of tools in software like Adobe Illustrator or Affinity Designer and jars. Turn you off. You don't really know where to start. I got a great news for you. There's a program called vector Nader, and it's completely free from MacOS and also iPadOS. During this class, I will guide you through all the basics of vector art using vector Nader. So you don't need to invest any money and you can check out that vector graphics is for you. Modern data. Vector Nader interface is really simple. That is same principle behind this interface that you may be familiar with from software like Procreate, only the important tools are there for us and everything extra, everything else is hidden. I'm teaching mark and our guide you through your first vector project. We are going to design a little vector avatar using multiple tools. We will start with simple shapes. And then also, I will show you how you can draw your custom shapes using pencil and famous pen tool. By the end of the class, we will be able to create your own avatar. And from there, you can take it whenever you want. You can create more avatars. Or maybe you want to move to illustrate objects, icons, logos, animals. This is totally up to you. In one hour. I will give you all you need to know to start with vector graphics. You can keep using vector data that is very capable software. All later on. You can also switch to something more complex, like Adobe Illustrator or maybe affinity designer. I hope I will see you in the first lesson. 2. Interface: Here we are in the vector Nader up for the desktop. This is Mac OS version. There's also iPad version that I'm going to show you in the next video. In the center there is your art board. Let's zoom out a little bit using this View drop-down. So as you can see, I'm using A4 size. That's what I set up before I start this new document, I can zoom to fit. So this will feel, Oh, my screen. On the left side, you will see a layers. Let me just quickly some random shapes. I will just add some elements here, so there will appear in the layer panel. Now, take a look. I can open this layer and I got three different objects inside. So you can always refer to your layer panel if you want to search for certain objects from your projects. Tool at the very top of your toolbar over here is simply cursor move tool. We can use it to move, rotate, and scale your objects. So you will use it quite often. The tool below that look very similar, but the function is different. This is no tool and Node Tool affect only one node of the shape scissor tool below. And after that, we got some drawing tools. There's our pen tool, pencil tool and Brush tool that I will show you later. A text tool here if you want to add text to your project and shape tool. From here we can select several pre-made shapes. The special vector eraser tool that will erase part of your vector shape just like this. Very handy. Then we go hand to hand to just move the camera. Move your view around this zoom tool. And below that we've got our fill and stroke color. So if I click on the color, I can use the slider to adjust that. If I click on the fill, I can also use it to adjust the stroke color as well. So keep in mind are two separate colors. One is fulfill, one is for stroke that is around the object. Let's move to the inspector panel on the right side of your screen. In this panel, we got multiple multiple, smaller tabs. There's appearance at the very top. As you may see, you can open and close your tabs here in the inspector. Fill, stroke, shadow, effect, and path to the very top. There are few more additional features like for example, Boolean operators. Alright, that's just a very brief overview. Don't worry about it too much. We're going to talk about each element in more details while working during this class. In the next video, I will show you the difference between desktop interface and iPad version. All tools are exactly the same. They're a little bit in different locations. So please check out the next video to see the iPad interface. 3. iPad Interface: Here we are in their vector monitor for an iPad. As you can see, version of this app. It's very similar. The tool set on the left side of the screen is exactly the same acid desktop version. Only big change here on the left side is lack of layer panel. Layer panel on your iPad will be on the right side other with other panels in the Inspector. But other tools are all here. We are using touch input instead of mouse. And we cannot press, let's say, Shift key on your keyboard here. To make this circle to be oval with perfect circle or rectangle to be perfect squares. So instead of dynein just putting additional finger on the screen. So that's very common trick. Normally on your desktop, you will click Shift or Control. On iPad, you just put one additional finger on the screen that should do the same trick. On the right side of the screen we've got our panels, our inspector, the group altogether on desktop. But here on my iPad version, I think it's even easier to swap between them. We got like icons at the top and then we can just open an exact panel that we need. This one, for example, appearance when you can set up fill and stroke. Then we can change, go to arrange the path, and then our layers after that, the layers are moved to the right side. Everything else is exactly the same as in the desktop app, so you don't need to worry about that. You can do everything I do in the desktop version on your iPad and other way around. Only big difference here is your input method. You've got Apple Pencil, icon, mouse, I got keyboard, but you can put one or two additional fingers on your screen to indicate the shortcut combination. All right, I will see you in the next lesson. 4. Fill and Stroke: Vector Graphics is based on shapes and each shapes can have both fill, color and stroke color. You can see fill and stroke in the inspector panel on the right side. Let's test this out on a shape. Let me just quickly use a shape tool to draw a circle. I'm holding Shift on my keyboard to have a perfect circle like this. And we can see that this now it's filled with the gray color. Here, this end the field. I can switch it off and on. If I click on the color itself, I will see this slider that will allow me to quickly change the fill color. We can also use gradients. Gradient is this smooth transition between two colors. In this case, we need to set up two different colors like this, maybe something from this area. Alright, now we fill our shape with a gradient, so we got some field. How about stroke? Let's turn it on. We can adjust the color as well by clicking on this gray box. It's great because the color selected is gray. Then let's adjust the width of the stroke so we can see it. Now it's quite big. All right? There are few other things we can adjust about the stroke like start and end. In our case we got circles, so that's not really handy, but let's test it out anyway. Start and end is simply adding arrowheads to your strokes, to your lines. Something that may be handy when you're doing some kind of diagrams. All right, let's switch this off. We can also adjust the dash and gap for our line. This way you can have line with gaps. That's pretty handy. And as you can see, we've got four values hill, so it's quite adjustable. Let's reduce the size of the stroke so we can see it. And as you can see right now, by adding values to dash and gap, I was able to create this dashed line around the shape. That's nice. If you select your shape, you can swap between colors. Unfortunately, we cannot use grading with stroke, so we simplify that. But in general, this button swap between Fill and Stroke replace them. You can also see color for fill and stroke over here just below your tool panel, you see this is Phil. This is stroke. You can switch this off and on from here as well. Alright, so keep in mind every shape have two values for color, fill and stroke the line around the shape. You can see the history of your fields and use the one is before. You can even add this to the palette. So you can reuse that easily later. 5. How to Draw Shapes: Sometimes we need to draw basic shapes like circles, squares. That's when we can use shaped or here on the left side. And our panel normally is setup to be a square. If you draw it straight away like this, you will have nice rectangle. If you hold Shift on your keyboard, you can draw a perfect square like this. While holding shift, you've got ratio one-to-one. Alright, if you play with this slider at comorbid, move it up. You will round out the shape. You've got rounded corners straightaway on your rectangle like this. This can be also modify from the inspector panel over here. In appearance, you can see the corner radius slider. You can modify it after you draw the shape as well. You don't need to worry about it while you're drawing the shape. All right, that's the default shape, but there are many other shapes hidden below. So click this three dots and you will discover are the shapes we can pick. The second one on the list is oval. Let me just change the color for this guy so we can see it. Maybe orange. All right, so we got oval and his work exactly the same. You just drag it around. If you hold Shift, you will have a perfect circle, one-to-one ratio. That's quite straightforward. What's next on the list? Next one is a star shape. But there's more to it. Normally, you've got the slider indicating how many arms you will get now I got three. I move it up and got 17 right now. But if I hold shift, I can kind of push the arms inside the shape, changing the appearance of the star, making the arms very short like this, almost like badge. You can also adjust how many arms you got from the appearance panel here. We can add more arms. We can reduce the number after you draw the shape, as well. As you can see. It's more to it, not just as simple star shape. We can use sliders, use shift to push arms inside the shapes are outside the shapes to alter the Luke. So thanks to the Star Tool, we can actually draw several different shapes, not only stars. You can also add radius, corner radius to your star so you will round the corners, you around every node in your style to have much softer look. Now, our star look more like a sun. As you can see, I was able to quickly draw three different shapes using the same Star Tool. Right? What's next on the list? Let's click three dots again. Next is polygon tool setup to trim polygons to three sides as first, but we can modify that by moving this slider up. Now I've got five different sides. And again, you can modify this number after you draw the shape. So you can use the slider in the inspector for that as well. Language, the Star Tool, we can make our corner rounded like this. You can draw any shape and you can adjust how many sides do you need? All right, just to Frank's left here and actually not shaped star lines. So this is basic line tool for drawing straight lines like this. And now we don't have a fill color. Let's add stroke to it then. For lines we use stroke for shapes. We've got our fill and stroke around shape. Alright, so we got to this nice line. We can modify the start and end, as you may remember from the previous session. We can add like head and the end of this line. If we need. You can rotate the whole line, but you can also pick the node tool over here and just move 1 of the line around the another one like this. All right, so this is line two. We will talk more about lines in our next session. And the last tool on the list over here is just a special case of the line that is like spiral inside. It's kind of like bended inside. Nice spiral line. This is not a shape as well. This is just a line, so we've got stroke now, we can kind of adjust the value. How much is this spiral going inside? And dots, all options we've got available in our shape sections. So we've got several different shapes like circles, rectangles, stars, and polygons. And then some of them got additional sliders. So don't forget about additional sliders. I can help you out why modifying the shape properties. On the right side. You got your appearance when you can round corners, but for some shade like Star Trek look. The new thing appear at the very top in the inspector star. And then we've got number of points that we can modify for this shape. All right guys, I will see you in the next lesson. 6. How to Draw Lines: Alright, we know how to draw some basic shapes. How about lines? His pen tool Y. Using this tool, you will be adding nodes. And those nodes will be connected with a line like this. When you just click, the line will be straight. If you go back to the same point you have started, you'll be able to close the shape. For closed shapes, you can even add a fill color like we did previously. Alright, let's delete that and try Paint tool one more time. This time I'm going to click and hold. So I click and hold, click and hold, click and hold. As you can see this time my line is not straight, but curvy pen tool is perfect for creating curvy lines. You must simply click and hold. This way you can drag some control points out of the node. Those control points will allow you to make a curve line. It's not very intuitive for beginners, so you should give it a try at least few times. Some people say the pen tool is the most powerful vector tool. That's painful, but that's not the only tool we can use to draw lines. In the next one on the list is called Pencil Tool. And this is more free hand style. We can set up basic smallness over here. Let's do 50%. Then we can simply click and drag. The line will appear directly next to your cursor. So it's easier to use than Pen tool, but we got less precision. Pen tool is harder to use, but more precise. This one is more like freehand tool, easy to use, but a little bit less precision. And of course we can close shapes as well by going back to the first. Even after you draw the line using pencil tool, you can still adjust the smoothness using this slider. That's quite cool feature. Right? There is one more tool on this list. Over here, brush tool. Let's give it a go. If you use brush tool, you will see that your line got some kind of pressure attached to it and that is aligning side, as we can see, the blue line and that there's some kind of pressure on it. So the line is thicker at the end. Sorry, Tina, at the end. As you can see here, we can modify what kind of brushed is attached to our line that will change the appearance. We can also move this slider to make this brush smaller, like this. In any moment you can go back to regular line. Even though we use this brush tool, we are on regular lines. So let's do it something opposite. I'm using pencil tool now. I've got pencil tool, not Brush tool. But if I select this line, I drove pencil and go right here to the brush and brush area. I can add the brush to it later. The brush tool is not really a separate tool. It's actually just a pencil tool with a brush added straightaway. You can also add a brush to know any other line in your design later on as well. All right, we got pen and pencil and brush. And as you may remember from the previous session, we can also draw straight lines using this special tool hidden in our Shape panel. And this line can be also, the brush can be also applying to this straight line as well. All right, so let me demonstrate that I'm drawing lines now using line tool. This is dedicated tool that help us to draw straight lines. You might select them all. I can modify the width of the line here. We can make them thicker. And if you want, you can add heads or ends to make some arrows, for example. That's also possible. Finally, you can change regular line into brush by clicking here. The brush is editable so we can edit this brush and you will see this pressure chart. This is a chart that simulate the pressure apply on the line. You can modify that as you need. And this way we got some kind of more realistic line look like drawn by hand. All right, that's all about lines and curves. I will see you in the next lesson. 7. Boolean Operations: We already know how to draw shapes using shape tool and also how to form them using lines. Now it's time to learn how we can combine two shapes. As you can see here, I've got a rectangle, I could square and also circle. And I'm going to combine them together. To do that, you will need to select both shapes, need to have both shapes selected. You can use your move tool, your primary cursor like this, select both. And then in the inspector panel on the right side, search for the top called path. In my case here at the bottom, I will open this tab and inside angle several different Boolean operations I can use. The first one on the list is called Unite. If I click on this, I will simply create a new shape that is compound of those two shapes are unite them, I add them together. The second on the list is subtract. Click on that. The shape at the top, we'll create a hole in the shape below. I subtract this one, I cut it out. Let's undo that and check what is the next frame? This one, it's intersect. If I click on it, I will only end up with this intersection part. This was good common part from both shapes. Next one is most powerful one called divide. After I click on it, it sounds like nothing happened, but take a look. Now I can simply move any element separately so everything is divided. Now, that's really powerful. Alright, We got one more on the list. And the last one as x or it's kind of opposite to intersect. If I click on it, the intersecting part would disappear and everything else will be connected together. Alright, so we got our Boolean operations. We can add shapes together, we can subtract them, we can divide them into smaller shapes, but we can also modify any shape directly using node to. The node tool is this second cursor, the white cursor below this one. This is called Node tool. This will not move the whole shape. It will only move one note, 1, like this. By using this, I can alter the look on any shape. I can even click on the line here to add totally new node. Take a look, and now the shape is totally different. It was a simple square, but now it's marked much more complex shape. As you can see, this note is curvy one. I can click on it, go to the right side and I can transform this to be sharp node like this, curvy or sharp. We got smart one and there's also one more on the very end. This one disconnect, right side and left side of the note so I can move them independently like this, very handy for sharp turns like this going in. So we can add or remove nodes. You can click on the node and hit Delete on your keyboard and it's gone. No tool is also very handy for customization of your shapes. We can use just Node tool and turn this circle into heart-shaped. Take a look. I will move it down. Now. I will disconnect right and left side. I can pull this up as well. Last thing I changed this node down here to be sharp. And we turn a circle into hardship, we just few clicks. So as you can see, NO2 is also quite powerful if you know how to use it. All right guys, I will see you in the next video. 8. Let's Make an Avatar: It's time to put everything we have learned so far into good use. We will design vector avatar. This is our main class project. Let's get started. I'm setting my color to gray because I want to focus on shapes and lines first without worry about colors, I will change them later. So first, just simple gray circle. This will be our head. Move it to the center. You can also use orange panel on the right side to arrange it to the center to document like this. Perfect. All right. We got our gray circle. The center of art board, as you may not be. So farther outboard is square. Now I'm using Node tool and I will drag this node all the way down and make it more like a human head. Cool. Seems like I need to move it a little bit up to make some space for neck and body here. It's too big, I think. Let's resize that by dragging the corner hold shift so you will resides with the same aspect ratio. All right, it's time for one more circle. Again, Shape Tool. We drag this circle here a little bit darker gray color in this case, we can see it. Then I can simply copy and paste Command C, command V. And I got the second one for the second eye. As you can see, I ain't got smart guides around that helping me. When I'm aligned my shapes. Blue and take a look, I got this blue lines around. This way I can easily put my eyes in the center of this head. If you cannot see Smart Guides go to View and check dot-dot turn on. Very handy now I switch them off. I cannot see them again. Go to View, turn them on. Now I got smart guys that helped me to align objects. Nice. Right? What next? Maybe we can again use oval shape. A little bit to the left. Like this. This will be my ear. I will need to drag this shape below my main head shape. I can use the layer panel to drag it down like this, so it's hidden below now. And again, one more copy of the same shape Command C, Command V. Let's flip this. Alright, like this, we flip our shape. We can select them together so we can position them under center. And we can even scale them together a little bit like this. And as you may notice, the second shape, the copy is still above my head, so I need to drag this below as well. All right. We draw some shapes. Good start. Let's draw some lines. Maybe we can use pen tool we learn about before. So here's the pen tool. If I click and drag, and then again click and drag somewhere here I will draw a line. Now I don't have stroke color only fill color. Let's fix that. I will turn off the fill and tune on stroke. I don't need any endings here. I need endings and gray color. We're working with gray so far so we can focus on shapes and lines. Are right, That's not a smile. So let's change this using node to node tool allow us to modify curves like this. We can even move nodes are around, much better. Cool. We use pen tool. How about the other tool will learn about pencil tool. Let's make it a little bit smoother and try to draw something like a nose here. Unlike always, don't stress too much if your line or shape is not perfect. We are doing vector graphics. We can modify everything later using Node Tool. Just quick sketch to start kick off this project. All right, what do I use? Rectangle tool to create a neck and some kind of body here. Alright, let's align this to the center. This one as well. Now I'm going to select two shapes same time and use unite operations. So I add them together, they become one shape. Like this. Nice. Using Node tool, you can move nodes as you want. So we can move this inside a little bit. You can even select a certain node, just click on one node and then we can round this node. So if you click on one node like this, it's selected. Now I can go and search for corner radius. And I can move this slider to round this specific node. All right, I can even type it from the keyboard if you're using keyboard right now, I will type 50% for this one and also 50 per cent for other signs. So it's exactly the same in my case. Okay. This is now above my main head, so I need to drag this layer down. We can also rename this. I know this is buddy. Now I am ready to drag it all the way down so it's below. Nice. Let's flip. Appearance. I will switch off the stroke and tune on the fill color for this element. I like this. Look funny, but it's a really good start, good blueprint for our avatar. Alright, I think we're going to end up this lesson by drawing some hair here. So I think I will just scale down everything. So I got more room for her. That's better or more space now. Maybe pencil tool. So we got freehand drawing experience and just draw around. First the hand are kind of in front of the head and then we will draw one more shape behind. And we can see behind his head something like this. Of course, the second shape needs to be dragged all the way down. Not here, even lower behind the neck, behind the body like this. Every Frank as in place. Now we can focus on adding colors and smaller elements and polishing our nodes are curves. I will see you in the next lesson we're going to continue with this project. So please save your document. 9. Adding Colors to our Avatar: We have all basic elements in the project already. Now it's time to add some colors and also reduced number of nodes in some cases. So our lines are smoother. Now I'm changing the color from this big shape from my head using the fill panel on the right side, you can even add main color to your palette so you can easily reuse that later. In this case, I cannot simply change the color for the neck because it's kind of like one shape of the body. So let's divide them. To do that, I will draw a circle over here. And I'm going to use Bowen action to divide the neck from the body. Let's resize this circle. I think it's a little bit too big right now. Reposition exactly at the center. We can use alignment panel. Then select both shapes on the same time. And click Divide in the path area over here. By doing that, you will separate all elements. I can move this away and even delete. I got my neck here and the clothing separately. Very handy action. Let us drag it down on the layer panel. It's below head. And I will do the same thing with the neck. Clean, drag and drop below. Now it's algebra to write like this. Alright? Now I can use Node Tool. This is like this second cursor and I can reduce the number of nodes. As you may remember, we draw this using pencil tool, free drawing tool. So we cannot control the number of nodes while doing that. It's white. Now I am going to play with my node tool a bit and mostly just reshaping and removing note to make this line smoother. Why using Node tool, you are editing node by node. You can click on the node and that hit Delete on your keyboard to get rid of that node, if you need to add more nodes, just simply click on the line and the node will appear. Reshaping, reshaping using node to almost there. As you can see, usually we got too many nodes while we using pencil tool, free drawing tool. To smooth this out, we need to get rid of some. Alright, that's much better. I can switch off the stroke color for this element. We don't need a stroke. So let's set up new fill color to be brown. And then we can simply turn off stroke like this. For this top area. I think we will need to make a little bit lighter color like this. It's look very messy. Redraw it with pencil tool service, lots of work to fix that. I'm going to delete the whole element. Redrawn this width pen tool instead. Click on it, hit Delete. Let's select Pen tool and let's try to redraw this with pen tool. So click and drag, click and drag. This way we can control number of nodes we are using. Click and drag, click and drag one here. And then we can close the shape. Nice. We can still use node to laughter that to ten some nodes sharp like this one. We could sharp node here. By using Move tool, you can even stretch the whole object like this back to the Node Tool. This should be sharp as well. Perfect. Alright. So we use pencil and also note too to adjust shapes for her. We also add shame at colors into our shapes like this. Cool. What? Next we got ears over here and we already got a color for that. So we can just simply set up this color. Ups. I add stroke by accident. So I can just switch this off and change the fill color as I should hear this. For the neck, I can modify this. If I click on this node over here, make it sharp. We got more ship more like this, more dynamic shape. Look cool. I will get rid of this clothing below and redraw it again. So I got a full rectangle there without any gaps like this. Now I simply to move it below the neck. Zoom in. In my case I'm using keyboard shortcut Command plus to zoom in. We need to reposition this rectangle a little bit lower. Let's zoom in again so I can see it exactly right. Like this, perfect. All right, not to. I can select this node and this node together holding shift. So two nodes are selected. And now I can use round corner slider to round them in the same time. Nice. We can even move this point a little bit inside. And this one as well. The neck is much darker. We don't want that. So let's recolor this. This is the original color for the skin in my case. And now I cannot see the difference between the neck and the face. So we're going to draw additional shape using pen tool, just little shaped like this. Now I will place this in-between, In-between head and neck. You must be very precise. You must place it in the correct layer in-between your face and your neck. Now I cannot say it is below my face, so I need to stretch it down a little bit. Alright, now I can say it already. Cool. So this would be like Ali to shadow, giving us kind of distinction between a neck and head. As you can see, it's too big right now. I'm going to duplicate the whole neck area selected together with this shadow and use path option intersect. So only the intersecting part. Stay in my project. Perfect, move it down. And here's my shadow. Ryan. We've got very nice progress during this lesson. We publish many shapes, we add colors to our project is not gray any longer, so let's add color over here as well. This should be a stroke color. I can use color picker tool directly on here. Then. We can also set on some kind of pinkish color for lips. It's not finished yet, but we got two nice progress. We will try to finish this little avatar during our next lesson. So see you there and don't forget to save your progress. 10. Avatar Finish and Export: Let's continue with our avatar. In the last session, we add some colors. Now we're going to take care of lines. Already, take care of shapes. So let's select lines this time I got lines here and for nose and also here, I select all of lines and phase. And now I can modify them. I can use brush on them. Fresh will simulate different pen pressure, but we can also define our own brush. So let's go with data. Here is the chart I can click in the center and grabbed this up. This way. This way the line will be much thicker in the center and thinner at the edge. All right, that's what I want like this. So we apply a little bit of pressure in the center, so it's more natural. Of course, we can also use Node Tool, this second selection tool that allow us to move individual nodes like this. We can even click and remove them by hitting delete on keyboard. By removing unnecessary nodes, we will make our lines march smoother. That's why I'm doing right now here for the nose, I simply remove and adjust nodes. Nice, and the same process over here for the eyeballs. Right? Let's balance this here. This one is unnecessary. Move this to the center. And this way we enhance our lines. Of course, you can always experiment with no tool moving and adjusting other elements that redraw our ready. Let's go back to the phase. I'm going to make a duplicate of this smile here. I just use shortcut Command C command V. And now for the duplicate, our combine this with the previous one. So our modified the look of the previous one now making much thicker, put a duplicate at the top and make it a little bit darker. So I combine two different lines here. I think I'm going to modify. The bigger one, the one in the back. So I'll select that from the Layer menu. And now I will modifying the brush we use for it. So let's go to this brush panel here. I can change this to this brush dot is almost invisible at the end and the beginning like this. Alright, got nice effect here. Now. That's done. We can add some details using lines to our clothing down here. So I will grab Pen tool and quickly draw a simple line here. Like this. I don't need this brush any longer, so let's kick this out. Regular line will do. We can also modify and the width of this regular line and of course the color we can even use built-in color picker. Then start from that, make this color would pick darker. Like this. All right. Again, no tool for some smaller adjustments here under. When you are happy with the position and shape of this line, simply copy and paste this whole line. You can use shortcut on your keyboard command C, Command V. And then we will flip this. So click here to flip. And we can position this on the right side of the image. Now, we got little details over here, extra details. Our avatar is almost finished. We can use Node tool to make some final changes if you want to move some known to reshape some lines, dots the perfect time. All right, we can also use pen tool to draw additional lines above our shape here to add a little bit of texture to it. So I'm going to turn off the fill color and turn on the stroke color. I can also apply this pressure brush I used before, and then select the correct color. This additional line will give us extra texture over here. I think I'm going to modify that and I get a little bit longer too much. The base line for this, this color should be brighter or darker than the original color like this. Alright, so why not to make a background for our Li2 avatar? So I'm using rectangle tool now. We fill color and we can adjust the fill color right now. It will be based on the main color from the clotting part. I going to change solid color to gradient. This is radial gradient from the center. I will modify this color here to be even brighter. Right? Now I'm ready to use Move tool to stretch this shape to cover the whole art board. As you may notice, its cover our avatar as well. So let's drag this down in the layer panel, the very end. All right, we got our background in. Maybe I'll make a duplicate of this line here to give it even more texture. So let me just call weakly make a copy of Dan. Then I will position the copy very close to it, but I need to modify the shape of this line, the curve of this line. More like this. Nice. Hope your avatar look similar or even better than mine. You can also add a gradient to her, the one that I'm behind the head to show that it's like a little bit of inner shadow over there. I will need to flip. Dad now is from left to right. I want this to come from top to the bottom. That's pretty simple. You just need to use a move tool. And then you can drag this yellow handle to modify the position of the gradient. Right? Alright, I'm happy with the results is quite nice for our very first project in this vector editing software. Now we are ready to save, to share our work. Of course, save your source file first so we can edit and modify your vector artwork later, but we won't so wanted to share this as a raster graphics. So we can pick different formats here under the Share button. You can save it as PNG for example, and setup this as your avatar on some forum or other profile. All right guys, thank you for your attention and I will summarize this whole class in next lesson. 11. Avatar on iPad Timelapse: Before we jump to the summary, I'm going to redo this whole project. So I'm going to design a little vector, our tau, one small. But this time I'm using iPad version of the app. So for some of you they're using iPad version. I decide to also record this time-lapse videos. This is speedup to respect your time before because the process is very similar. So you'll know exactly what I'm doing here. As you can see, this is the first stage of the project when I'm just using dark gray colors without the proper coloring my objects just yet. So i setting up all base shapes, forehead, nose, eyes, all of that stuff. Later on, I'm going to add neck and body and her style to my ALU to amortize. This is exactly same project. This is speedup time-lapse. And in this case, I'm working using Apple pencil and iPad version of the same app vector Nader, and that you can download from the App Store for free. So enjoy this time-lapse. 12. Class Summary: Congratulations, You've reached the end of this class, but that's just the beginning of your adventure. We're Vector Graphics and this vector Nader up. As I mentioned before, you can use it both on desktop version, on your Mac, on your iPad. I hope you were able to complete our project. You design your own little avatar. Feel free to share your creation down below in the project section. If you've got any questions, you can also use the question section, the forum. You can ask the question, or you can discuss with other students. This was just your very first project. In this software. It's time to think about what would be your next project about, are you going to design icon, logo, or maybe another illustration? Maybe this time you can design an object. Animal. Challenge yourself and practice all tool that we have learned so far. Keep in mind, pen tool is quite challenging to use, is required some practice. So don't give up. Practice your pen tool skill. And very soon you will be able to illustrate everything you want using vector arts. Alright. Thank you for learning with me, and I hope I will see you one day in one of my other classes. Bye-bye.
