1. Introduction: Hello everyone and welcome to this series of hard to draw. In this class, we will learn how to draw upon critic combining professional markers, colored pencils, and graphite. We will understand the physical aspects present in the material somewhere we want to sketch it. We know exactly what to I. And for this, we will draw two concrete ventures with different gray tones, then see the difference between them. At the end of this class, you will have learned how to quickly sketch a concrete and as a final project, you will design and draw your own preferred by half. So let's get started.
2. Materials Needed: The materials you'll need for this class are a set of four cool gray markers, and I set off for warm gray markets. The marker sets go from lighter tones to darker ones as shown here. A black fine liner pen, 12 H one V graphite pencils or any regular desktop. One strong cool gray marker for the shadows. And eraser. A white colored pencil. Graphite first sketching. One ruler. While I'm blending some, any size will work fine. And cardboard or paper, of course, you can use any size of paper you wish. Just make sure it has a nice thickness. I strongly recommend you use cardboard as shown in this video, rather than bond paper.
3. Characteristics of Concrete: Before we begin to draw concrete, let's understand what this material is and its particular characteristics. Concrete is a mixture of cement, sand, stones, and water that is mostly used in the construction industry. However, in recent times we have seen concrete being used in other fields and design and products going from furniture to this Accessories. No matter where its final useable be, concrete will always show the same in surface. And we can say that there are four specific characteristics that this material has. Color. We easily identify concrete as a cool gray tone and feel. Shadings. Concrete has random shadings all over its surface. And we can observe in these pictures, these shadings can be easily replicated within graphite pencil or blending stump. Porosity. Concrete has porosity. The pores present in the surface will show randomly rather than the parent. We must take care of this when drawing our concrete products. And finally, correct. Occasionally, concrete can develop Greg's. Greg's are not aesthetically appealing in a concrete product. They do add some realism to the drawings. Another important thing to mention here is that both cracks and faults are usually shown black and white, which is why we will draw them in both colors in this class. Finally, concrete doesn't typically reflect its environment, which makes it more finished surface. With all of these aspects in hand, we can now begin to draw or concrete ventures.
4. Cool Grey Concrete: Let's begin our first bench. For this example, I will be using the cool gray markers. There is some we will be using two types of price for this project has to do with the location your concrete design will have in the library will receive. Because indoors we usually have control of our lighting. We use cool very markers since normally interior life is more neutral than outdoors with the sun. In that case, one gray color sued Well, because the sum will give a warmer feel to the object it is illuminating. To begin with, we must identify the source. Like in this case, I'll draw an arrow indicating where the light is coming from. This is crucial to do at the beginning since it will tell us which faces and a bench will be lighter and which ones are darker. Because the source is coming from the top, we can identify the upper face as a brightest point. The lateral face that is facing towards the light source with a slightly darker as the upper phase. Whereas the contrary lateral phase will be even darker because it's something opposite side of the lighting source. And he's the one with the shadow will emerge. I have also drawn a sectional diagonal part in the edge of the year. So we can see how this side will be even darker since light is less likely to pounce in this area and get towards us. Markers can be very useful tools to draw any object, but we need to be careful how to use them. Since once a darker marker is applied because Rome, it cannot be erased like graphite put an eraser, because we want to avoid any possible mistakes. I suggest you always start with the lightest space, which is in this the upper one. We'll continue with the left side of the bench, since this phone is slightly darker, but not too much. His arrest of the markers for this material always tried to field in dire area, can draw it as balanced as possible. Hi. Continuing with the right side of the bench. Finally, let's fill the section with the darkest gray tone. So once I have the faces have been dropped. What else? Fine liner bandwidth must randomly draw small points all over the surface of our bench, is will mimic the porosity that is present in the faces of our font-weight design. When drawing the points, make sure to do it a random date. If we live a visible behind it, the warm look natural. Now this time with a white colored pencil. Next, we can draw a few more graphs on a few edges of the bench. When barren crags make sure they look small. Since drawing a huge grabs means that the object may have a significant damage. Draw the cracks with the black liner and the one color pencil as shown here. Let's now add some shadings with our graphite and blending some. When I blind the shadings, I suggest you to consider the far edge is operative broadens and then run them to begin to blow towards the reservoir surfaces. As you can see here, add as much graphite as your thing gets needed. Okay. Okay. When you're finished, you're going to start adding some language that the object begin with the inner edges. And you can use some graphite or a white pencil. In this case, I'll use white pencil on the inside and graphite pencil on the outside. Hi. Hey. Hello. Okay. Finally, you can add some floor shadow to give you wish with your strong core way market. You can also use a mutual conflicts and purpose.
5. Warm Grey Concrete: Let's now draw the same bench using warm gray markers. And techniques for drawing this bench will be exactly the same as the ones used for drawing with a cool gray markers. Remember, you can use warm grain whenever your design is meant to be used in the exterior, having direct contact with the sun. Hello. Hi. Hi.
6. Final Project: Now that we have learned how to draw a concrete, let's put the methods in practice. The project for this class is to assign any concrete object following the techniques we'll cover in the class. When you finish your project, make sure to upload it in the project section so other students can look at it as well. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. I'll be more than happy to help you. Thanks for watching and see you in the next class.
