1. Class Introduction : Okay, so today we are going to learn how to draw ofi after the timescap and we
are going to use color pencils instead of
copic markers this time. Now, before we start, if you check that
description box, you can see all the materials I'm using for this tutorial, along with Amazon product links. Okay, so to get started, I'm going to take the roller and I'll create a perfect square. Each side will be 5 centimeters, and we're going to
cross it in the middle. Just like that. Awesome. So we are going to draw Lufi in a free quarters pose. First, I'm going to
start by drawing the shape of his
face and the torso. As you can see, I'm
drawing the neck and then just a rough
shape of his torso. And I'll also mark the
center of his torso and we'll get back to it after
we are done with the head. Right now we are going
to focus on the head. So just like the torso,
I'm going to mark the center of the face. And next, I'm going to
use this guideline, which I'll use to keep the
right proportions of the eyes. So now I'm simply going to draw two circles to create the eyes, and of course, his
right eye will be a bit smaller
because of the angle. Now I'm going to refine his eye simply by
drawing two curves. Will place his
pupil at the center slightly to the right and will add his famous scar simply by drawing one curve
and two more lines. Next, I'm going to draw the
eyebrow and as you can see, I'm placing it over the eye. We'll add some wrinkles, and now we can draw the nose. I'm going to start by
drawing two curves from this area and simply add one more dot to
create the nostril. I'll add two more lines here, and then we can
refine his right eye. Again, just like
before, two curves, then one diagonal line to create the eyebrow and we'll place
the pupil on the right side. Awesome. Next, we are
going to draw his mouth. Going to give him a nice smirk and indicate the bottom lip. Again, simply by drawing curves. Awesome. So now we are
going to move to the hair. As you can see, I'm
drawing the lack of hair simply by
drawing to curves. Okay. Now we're going
to add the ear. And once we are done with that, we can add the
rest of the locks. So I'm going to start
with the left side, and gradually I'll make the
locks of air a bit bigger. I'm going to do the same
process for the right side. And now we are going
to draw his straw hat. So I'm going to start
by drawing two curves. And then two more
curves at the bottom. And three more curves on top. Also, next, we are going
to refine the head and add some lines just to indicate
the material of the head. Awesome. Now, I'm just going
to draw the neck muscles, and then we can move
on to the torso. Okay, so for the torso, I'm going to start by
drawing the shirt. So first I'm going to start with this color and then
go all the way down. Next, we'll indicate his arm and the shoulder simply
by drawing two lines. I'm going to add four
buttons for the shirt, and I'll draw the creases. I'm going to do the same
process for the left side. However, this side will be a bit bigger than the right side
again because of the angle. Awesome. So now, what I want
to do is refine the shirt, and I'll do that simply
by adding some creases. Awesome, the shirt is refined and now we
can refine his body. I'm going to start by
drawing the color bones. Then I'll use three
curves to create the chest muscles and then
we're going to add some abs. Add those two lines
for the shirt. And to finish up, we are
going to draw the scar. So first, I'm going to draw
the shape of the scar. And then I'm going to
refine it by adding some lines all across
just like that. Awesome. So we are
done with a sketch. Now I'm going to get rid of all the unnecessary guidelines, and we are moving to the
next step, which is inking. So for the inking process, I'm going to use 0.1 or 0.2. That's the size
of the black pen. And I'm simply going to
go all over the lines. And just like I
always tell you what you want to do in
the inking process is rotate the page so you can have your natural hand movement. Hold the pen with a firm grip and simply go all
over the lines. Once you do that
over and over again, you'll get much better at it. It's a matter of practice, man. Awesome. So once we are done
with the inking process, I'm going to take the
notorious charcoal eraser, and get rid of all the lead. Next, I'm going to use my eraser stick for
those stubborn areas. And now that it's clean, we can start using
the colour pencil.

3. How to Color Luffy: So I'm going to use
prisma color pencils. However, if you don't
have prisma color, you can use any type of
color pencils you have. These are the colors
I'm going to use. If you look at your top
left of the screen, you can see the prisma color
code which I'm going to use. And we are going to
start with Luf's shirt. So what we are going to do is start with the darkest tone, and we are going to mark
the most shaded areas. For this drawing,
the light source will come from the right side, which means that the left
side will be darker. Now, in order to get a solid
look from the color pencils, you want to hold the pencil closer to the tip,
and apply pressure. Now, you don't
want to overdo it. We don't want to ruin the page, but we do want to apply
some pressure in order to spread more lead on the paper
to get that solid look, you want to put more
and more layers until we are satisfied. What I see with a lot of beginners is they don't
apply much pressure on the paper or they apply too much pressure and they
don't add more layers. That's why you see lots of white dots on the drawing and
it simply look unfinished. Okay, so after I'm done, I'm going to use the mid tone, which means I'm going to
use a bit brighter tone. And I'm going to leave
some blank areas, which I'll colour later
with the brighter tone. So as you can see, I'm using
three tones for his shirt. And one more important tip, what you want to do is color with the direction of the shape. Okay, that way, the
shape will look much more free D and not flat. Awesome. Next, I'm going
to use the brighter tone, just like I said before. It's kind of a tone
between red and pink, and I'm going to apply it
on all the blank areas, including the mid tone areas. That way I can get a nice blend. Next, I'm going to take
the white colored pencil, and I'm gonna apply it
on the same areas of the brighter tone simply
to get a brighter look. And now I'm going to
do some refinement. I see that I left
some blank areas, so I'm going to
take the mid tone again and add more layers. Now, from time to time,
what you want to do is take the notorious
charcoal eraser and just clean your
work environment just so you won't
accidentally smear the lead. Awesome. Next, I'm
going to color the buttons with
the same method. I'll start with
the darkest tone, coloring the darkest areas. Then I'll use the mid tone. And finally, the brighter tone, which I'll blend with
the other colors. Awesome. Now, if I had
used the copic markers, I would have colored the other parts of
the shirt as well. But because we are using
the colored pencils, I'm going to move from left to right in order not
to smell the lead. So we're going to move
to the skin tones. I'm going to use a very
dark brown and just color all the shaded areas in the same process
we did before. Next, I'll use the mitnee And finally, the brighter tone, which, again, I'm going to blend slightly
with the mid tone. Don't forget to color
over the mid tone. That way we can get
a soft gradient. And in order to create
more highlights, I'm going to use the
white pencil again, just like that. Awesome. So now we are going
to color the scar. Now I don't have any prisma
colors with the we tones, so I'm just going to use different color pencils and we'll do the same process
just like before, starting with the darkest tone, then moving to the mid tone. After that, the brightest tone, and then using the
white colour pencil to blend it and also to
create a nice highlight. Awesome. So we are
done with the body. Now what I'm going to do is
color the rest of his shirt, again, by using the same
method we did before. So I'm gonna let the
tips do the talk, and we'll move on once I'm done. Awesome. So now we are going
to focus on the face, just like before I'm going to start with the darkest areas, and I'll apply a minimum
use right below the eyes, the shade from the hair
on the bottom lip, and at the edge of his face. Next, we are going
to use the meton. And as you can see, I'm
leaving some blank areas. For example, on the cheeks
and the bump above the eye, those areas sticks out more, which means they'll
get more light. And to finish up, I'll
use the brightest tone, and right after that, I'll use the white color pencil to create some highlights. Cool. So now we are going
to color the straw hat. For that process, I'm
going to use four tones. We'll use some brown, yellow, orange type of tones. We'll obviously start
with the darkest tone, and I'm going to shade
the darkest areas. As you can see,
sometimes I colour in circles in order to spread
more lead on the paper. Next, we'll use a
slightly brighter tone, kind of look like
a mustard tone. After that, I'm going to
use a very bright yellow. Now I'm going to use
a sand color yellow. And then I'm going to use a
stronger type of yellow just because I want to indicate a tint of yellow with
more saturation. And then I'll use
the brighter yellow again to blend the colors. So I'm going to do
the same process for the right side, and
as you can see, I'm rotating the page again, just because it's much more comfortable
to color that way. Awesome. So now we
are going to follow the same steps for
this area right there, and right after that, we are going to color the
fabric around the head. Awesome. So for this fabric, we can use the same colors
we did for the shirt. By now, you already
know what to do, start from the dark,
move to the mid tone, and then the brighter tone. Now, I'm going to leave
some blank area at the edge again to
create some highlight. Awesome. So all that's left is
coloring the hair. Now, for that, you
can either use a black color pencil
or a black marker. If you'll use a black marker, you'll save more time. However, I'm going to use
a black colored pencil just because I already used colour pencils for this piece. So I'm just gonna grab the color pencil really
close to the tip. I'm going to apply some pressure in order to spread more lead. And then I'm going to
rotate the page so I can see that I'm not
coloring over the lines. Don't forget to sharpen
the pencil from time to time so you can
have a very sharp tip. And if you want to be safe, you can use the black
pens and color the edges, just like I'm doing right now, and then you can continue
with the black colour pencil. Awesome. So now, all that's left is take the notorious charcoal eraser and get rid of all the
lead around the drawing. Now what you want to do is lower the volume a bit and
take a step back. A. D. Everybody. So this is how you draw
Luffi from Wampis. I hope you guys and girls
enjoyed this tutorial. Let me know how you did. That's it for today.
Thanks a lot for watching. Keep being awesome, and I'll
see you on the next video. Peace.
