1. Introduction: Hi, I'm Isa Wurdam. And in this class,
you will learn how to paint fluffy furry
creature in procreate. We will start with
simple shapes that with soft fur using
clean brush strokes, light directions,
and layered shading. You will discover how to
create volume dipped and that natural fur flow that
makes creature feel alive. From cute animals
to fantasy beings, this lesson will help you to paint fur with
confidence and style. Open your canvas,
pick your brush, and let's bring your
furry creatures to life.
2. Painting Sketch: Welcome. In this class, we will paint some fluffy
creature from imagination. At first, create
a new layer with empty layer and start
to painting sketch. For example, my sketch will
be something similar to this. I will have some fur
design just like this and my creature will be really
sweet like with big eyes, just like this and with
a really cute nose, maybe, and with a funny looking
mouth like this. And after this, after you
describe your creature, maybe with horns
and hands will be really small like this and
fits will come like here, and after you design
how it looks generally, open another new layer under it and make background at first, different color, then
open another new layer. With airbrush, this time, I will paint it with a airbrush. All of them will be
airbrush for now, and including the hands and fits will be airbrush. And after you add these
details over sketch, you need to define the eye shadows just like this, and we'll put some
eye detail here. And nose will be pink, just like this, pink nose. And
3. Painting Shadows: I will select the
background color for it. And I will shadow under
the detail and corners. Before adding four, you need to describe the main
details of your creature. For example, who is
the base colors, who is the mode details, for example, like this and
like this and like this. And after these tiny
details, for example, at the horns will
be this nail color. And after you design
these colors, open another new layer. But this time, I
will use this brush, and I will share
with you this brush, and we'll start to paint with it to create skin
of the creature. Just like this, apply
all over your creatures. This is really great
tool for create the fur. And if you don't want
to use custom brush, you can use airbrush for
this detailing process. And I will add much
more lights over here. And at the corners,
4. Painting Details: Create the detail of the fur. And at some places, you need to use really small brush for
creating these fur details. For example, it will be like this and I will
continue from here. And yeah, we are going
really great and creating details of the fur. Yeah. And for these details, I will add much more
hair, here and here. And this part will be much
more detailed with the fur. And you can use even different
kind of brushes for fur. I will also will share
these brushes with you and I will make
this part much more detailed and brush it look and sometimes you can
use your brush much more confidently like
big Sutrck like this. And after you
describe the details, you can dilate some line arts. For example, this part
is not necessary, and these parts just like this. And after this point, what we're going to do is adding extra details over the creature. And for it, open
another new layer, but before it just collect
layers together and add some saturation and a bit curve. And zooming, then open
another layer with a colored Dutch option and continue to adding
detail over your creature. Just like this. And here, And here, I will add much, much more detail
over my creature. And I will make this place much more lighter and detail it with a fur and we add much more fur effect
here also like this. And also this part will be detailed with the
furs, just like this. And you will add much
more light effects here, like a fur with a different
kind of size brush will help you to create a
realistic fur just like this. And here and here. Yeah, it is looking
great right now, and I will continue to adding
details over it like this. Open another new layer with overlay mode and
select darker color. This layer option will help
you to add some shadows over your creature with
really dark details. Yeah, it's looking great. And this the tail will be darker over
here and here. And I painted the
hands of the creature. And, of course, you need to add some lights because it
is not really dark, and it has its on details here. And for example, this
part is also not so dark, and we need to add much
more shadows here. And the corners will be
be much more darker here. And after this point, I will zoom into the eye, and I want to fix this
sketchy look of the eye and open nve layer and paint the ellipse and paint ellipse white and add shadows over
here, just like this. Maybe much more
shadows under here. And let's make ice green. I mean, just like this and
maybe lighter green here, and middle of it will
be just like this. And some small details
over here and here. And maybe much more lights
over here and move it. A bit, much more
bigger eye would be nicer and copy the layer
and move it to other place. It is really effective, right. And for collecting the layers, I will open another
new layer and we paint this part like this
and select eraser and erase down some places
of it and select verb.
5. Painting Micro Details: I and add some extra layers here for create the
dipness just like this. Maybe it can start from
here, just like this. And after this point, duplicate it and flip vertical
and move it like this. And after it, select eraser and clean some parts
of it, just like this. Then duplicate the layer after making it one and
move it to this side. After this point, I will
zoom into the nose of it and we make nose much
more bigger and effective. For example, it can
have some lights here and maybe even
dark colors over here. And yeah, I will add another
shadow here, just like this. And for teats, I will use this color and will make the teats bigger
even than the sketch. But it is totally up to you. You can make it big or really short depending how
you want to see it. And these parts will
be really dark. And this place will
be a bit lighter. And yeah, it is
looking really great. And what we can do is adding
the tails at the horns. I will make some
textures here like this. Maybe like this, much
more clear and visible. Yeah. Also, this part will
be same just like this. And what we can do right
now, I'm thinking, and we can add much
more shadows over here at the teeth and this time, collect all layers again. With the background,
just like this and go to do effects and gradient map. And I will give it a much
more pink, dark color here, just like this and some curves and zoom in again. And this time, I will go to the materials and
select flowing hair. And I will add some extra hair
textures over my creature. You can use lighter
brush at the corners or make it much more even softer. Just like this. Don't use in the same direction. Try to change the direction of the fur sometimes or make
it much more interesting. Just like this. I'm adding much more fur. At the corners because corners describes
the characteristics, and this character is free, and we need to make
much more force to define the characteristic
of the creature. For example, it looks much
more interesting right now. And under a moat we can add some extra dark
force here and here. And let's continue here
will be darker tones. And this part also will
be really darker tones. And at checks, I will
make her or him much more detailed like this to create really interesting
face for our creature. And sometimes you can use SmuchTol because
SmuchTol blends things really good and it is really great option
for making fs also. Just like this. I'm increasing the force of
the creature, just like this. And sometimes use lighter
brush strokes and
6. Complete Illustration: For find the balance in
your creature design, and it will look much more fluffy and funny if you
add these micro details. Yeah, it is looking
great right now. And for corners, I will
use fine hair and we use really small brush
and we paint over here to define much more
detail on the face. Yeah, it is looking great. And I will add a bit
much more detail and we'll finish
the illustration. The key point of creating
the realistic fur is painting much more details
and mixing the brushes. But you should make sure you are using really important
and effective brushes. And let's add much
more fur here. Yeah, it's looking great. Yeah, it is looking really
different right now, and I will continue to
add much more hairs. Just like this. Yeah. And I will add much more
lighter color here and here. Just like this. And it is looking
really great for now. And I want to add some
litle details here. For example, I can make his
lips much more visible color. For example, this
color will help us to define some nice and maybe much more pinks
at the corners. Here like this and like this. Yeah, just like this. And I will make him a bit
cute and happy maybe. And forehand, I will make some nails like
same colors with the horn to make it much more dangerous. And it looks so cute
and dangerous in Yeah. I will add much more lights
here and here and we'll put much more highlights at the nose and here will be much more detailed. Yes, it is looking
really great right now. And I will add a couple of shadows before
I finish the illustration. Maybe at these parts, I can add some touchs make the design much
more interesting. Just like this. Just
little touchs on corners. Yeah. And the background will
be just like this, maybe. This is a to shadow
of the creature, and maybe we can add some tails here comes from the backwards. Whoop whoop. Yeah, maybe like this. And this can be also furry, and I will use different kind of brush for create the tail. I will use this brush
to create some effect. You can use any
textured brush for this step, and that's all. And I will add some dark shadows here and lights over
here to combine it. And let's add some yellows in the eye and finish
the illustration. And let's add this part too. Yes, it is looking really great. And thank you for
joining me in this
