1. Introduction: Hi, I'm Masha urdmPfessional artist and illustrator, Woodi collaborated with Adopt play Eilish prime video stored offring strings of power series, the value of time and Stadia series, Wacom, log tank, and many more. In this class, you will learn how to draw realistic eye from start to finish using procreate. We will begin with correct positions and solid constructions to build a strong foundation. You will learn how to draw eyelids, iris and pupil with depth and accuracy. I will show you how to create realism through light, shadow, and substle details. By the end of this class, you will be able to draw expressive realistic eye that brings your portraits to life. This class is perfect for artists who want to improve their artistic drawing skills in procreate. Let's tie in. 2. Learn Drawing Eyes: Welcome. In this class, we will talk about how to paint ice easily. For creating ice, you need to think about the basics of eye. For example, if you paint one circular like this, and it is not just two D circle. It is the three D form. Like I have a line like this. I mean, if you want to define how it looks and where it looks, and I painted this area and it looks like this. And I want to paint I look at this section, so I will paint it just like this. And you need to use the perspective. For example, it look like this and you paint the inside of it, and it is looking that right now. But if you change it, for example, you can follow this path again when you look at different site, for example, this side and corner, maybe, it will look like this. And you can see this just like the square, I mean circle like this. Because in perspective, for example, if you imagine this like this, in perspective, it changed the perspective, just like this. And for example, if it looks much more up, it would be look like this. We don't see the complete size of it. And again, we can change it. We can change it. And at first, just try to build the base. I will show you anatomically. This is the eyeball, and it had one eyes like this and the tails of it and highlight points of it just like this and like this. And for the corners, you can think putting the geometrical shape just like this in it and follow this path and close the eyeball because we don't see our eyeball, otherwise it will look like this in real life, and it is in the skeleton like this. We just see this part of it and with the skin in it, we see it like this. Let's continue to create the shape of I and basically, it's like the fish shape. And you can put this pale here for if you painting skin, and here will be other details, and to paint another line here. Just like this. Let's repeat in another angle for create it and practice it. Just like this, and I'm painting it just like this and like this. And I will paint this angle just like this. I'm trying to make it with much more clean lines. I will explain you something. Let's paint another angle. This time, I will just try to start from the outlines of it. Because you need to use it to paint the size of the eye. And it is like if you practice a lot, it will be really easier to paint the sketches of these parts. Let's zoom in here and continue to adding lashes. Lushes is out from the skin from this part. If you think it is skin, it is not out from the inside of the skin. It is connected to upskinF example, if I paint the outlines of the eye and this part of the eye, I will paint just like this and like this and like this. You can out the eyelashes here. And depending on the location of the lashes, it follows the pad. For example, imagine it is the outline of the eye you can think like this, and at every side, it follows to pet, for example. It is the right thing and it is the wrong thing. Some paintings, painters paint lashes just like this. It is wrong because it is follows to pet. For example, at this time, you can paint like this. And also this is wrong if you paint lashes like this, it is wrong. You need to paint it. So is connected with each other. So parts is different, like natural, it is right. And after you paint it, don't forget to add some value here to show the skin here because if you think geometrically like this, the endpoint of the eye there will be some space like this and you will see skin like pink skin here and leces out from this side, not in here, and this is the place of the leces you can add some details here. And if you paint triangle from here, just like this, triangle from the end of it, you can find where the eyebrow starts for eyebrow, you can make it like this or like this like waves. These waves describe she angry? For example, if you do some angle like this, it shows it is angry and if you paint it like this, it is sad and it is thinking like this and it depends on your choice. And you can also make these parts of eye much more darker. And let's do some color practices for understand 3. Learn Painting Eyes: The eye is much more better. I paint the gray scale at background. And this time, I will use some textured brush like this. You can only use some paint roll brush or Nicole brush and just first paint the background for eye and try to add the background of eye, like how it looks like shape. Basic sketch of how it looks. And after it, you can put don't use directly white. Use some gray color, muted color, not so gray, but muted color because our eye is not flat, I will explain it later. And I will add some shadows here, like eyelashes. You can paint eyelashes separately or you can define them as a one shape like color shape. Like blocking the line. And now I will add darker shadows here and here. Then I will add a bit much more lighter here. And this time, I will use green color, and I will apply like this. And some blues I'm mixing colors for catch some good eye color. And for this part, I will add some shadows for eye. And these parts also will be darker. And I will use black like outlines, and we'll add some highlights here, and you can add some lights over your eye at the corners, and this side will be darker because shadow of the lashes drop here and here, just like this. And I will add tiny lashes here and here and here. It looks really, really nice right now. And let's create another example with much more vibrant color. This time, I will paint the left side side wave of the I I is not from the corner side. It looks a bit, much more like egg and not so circle. And it is a bit much more when you see it from the side wave. And basically, I will show you and I will at this corner. There will be a up like this when you see from the corner ave, and you can increase the lashes for close eye. And it turns here. It is not comes like this. It turns because the skin covers the eye. And you can paint lashes from here, and it will be end like this and you can add details of the I like this, and also we can put the lashes here like this. And let's talk about the shape of the eye. It is not flat white. I will explain you. If it directly white, it will look like this. But if you use muted color like gray or a bit much more blue and gray mix, then you can apply shadows of it because it is not white flat object. It is tree deep ball like really ball and it is blood in it and veins in it. And for make it realistic, you need to calculate these shadows, and it is also that object. For example, if I paint it like this and add some lights in it, just like this. And I add lights over it, much more lights over it, and other lights here. Yeah. And it is like this. And I will add much more darker at the corners. And you can even make some veins visible in it for give it a realism. Basically, eyes look like this, and there is a vein, the backwards of it. It connects into the here, just like this from everywhere at the like back of it is covered by veins like this, and it's come to inside it like this. Thank you again see you in the next part. 4. Start Sketch: Welcome again. In this part, we will start sketching with outlining this reference. At first, set the opacity at the low level like this and open new layer over it with a smooth line. Then we will start taking the sketch of the COVID looks like the outlines of it and the extra details of it, just like this. And we need to define the general shape of the eye. This example is really important because you can work from the zero and try to copy it without tracing. But it is beginner tutorial and for all levels, and for save time, you can use tracing and it is not cheating or something, especially in this AIHe it gives us much more time. And you don't need to be sensitive at these parts. Just try to copy what you see and try to define the general shape of the eye like this. And after you put this, I will show you how to color it. But at first, do not rush and just try to wild some solid sketch before we color it. Just like this. And I'm defining the pad of the eyelashes, and I'm setting the lights points of it. And if you close the layer, you will see we created a sketch of the eye really well, and it is really important for creating it. For example, you can select some darker color like directly black or much more lighter color, and you can copy the lashes one by one. But use any inking brush for this. If you want to copy the lashes faster, and I will continue to increase the light just like this. And I will continue. And these parts is much more shorter. And I will continue to add lashes from these parts. And this part. And it comes like this, but I will add the detailed look of the lashes when I'm coloring. But this time, don't forget to add the outlines of the it. For example, I will make this for the outline. Next part, we will start adding details over the eye. Thank you. 5. Painting Base Colors: Welcome again. In this part, make the opacity like 100 and make this painting reference to top of the CCH because I don't want to, uh, see sketch lines and open new layer under the sketch layer. This time, what we're going to do is starting from the base colors. For example, I will select smooth shading brush and we'll use the background colors. I will not start from the color of the eye or different things. I will just try to add details for the he and the base colors of the illustration. For example, I will start from adding the details here and at the top of the painting, render the details slowly. And this way, you will understand how to build the details. And for example, I will make this part much more lighter, and this part is darker. Just try to understand the shapes and place the things slowly. Don't over add details. The detail is the last thing we will focus when we painting this design. At first, always try to increase the detail level of the illustration. Like how the shadow lands and how is the extra tones and different things. I will start from here and will increase the detail level, and it will be lighter here and lighter here and here. I'm adding details really slowly because I don't want to focus on details at this part. Just try to build the general shapes and we will start from the eye right now for I just paint the background color and make sure you don't focus any small details at first because all we need to do is focusing on the general details like this and like this, let's zoom in here and make this corner even much more darker. Focus on the light and shadows at this part and try to place the general looks. And this part will be lighter. And this part also will be darker. Yeah, just like this. And continue to adding details here, just like this. And this part also will be much more darker here. And at the left part, it will be even darker, especially at this part. It will be the outlines of this place. And let's continue with adding some much more shadows. Like this and zoom in here. This time, I will put the blackest area of the hair. I mean, it is like this, and I will make it square, much possible. And if you're not sure about the corners, paint a circle and hold with your two finger and press, it will be even much more detailed. And this part of the eye in the light colors, and it reflects the sky. You see sky colors in it. For example, at these parts, blue and some corners are wider. And these lines shows us the general details of the reflections and it reflects the sky and you see sky in it, just like this. And let's zoom in here and make the corners much more visible and blend softly. At corners, if you come closer to the corner, it will look darker, much more darker. And let's zoom into this part, and it will be like dark shadows here and here. Always try to understand where light comes and where shadows lands. It is the key option for creating much more detailed and amazing illustrations. For example, these parts are darker at the corner, and there is a dark part comes like this. And it continue from this side, and some light will come here and some darks will come here. And this time, I will select this darker color inside of the lashes, and I will make these parts much more darker. And I try my best to create this tab slow by slow because my hand is actually so fast, and I try to show you the process in the most possible and slow way. And this part will be darker at this side. And this part is the most dark part of the like anatomy. And we see some hair from here and I can create it quickly with hairbrush for define it from here. And as you can see, there is a really dark shadows and it turns from here and continue from the other part. So we need to define how it looks. And for example, I will close it and I will add some eyebrows, like, basically. And at other parts, we will continue to add detail to the eye iris. Thank you again. 6. Painting Details: Welcome again. In this part, I will open new layer over it and we continue to adding detail to my eye illustration. At first, Du rush and just try to build the middle of the middle of this place and zoom in here and try to build some lines like this because it has some textures like this. Starting over here and goes like this. And, again, I will add much more lights here. At first, try to build the illustration like adding some lights over here and over here and try to copy the textures of the illustration like this. And this corner has some extra lights, just like this. And corner is darker just like this. Let's continue. At the corners, we have much more darker tones, and at the left side, I will increase the corners of it just like this and like this. And for the texture of it, I will use the textures. Use it slowly because we have time and I don't want to make it in a hurry complete the lights here. And here like this. And I will increase the textures over here like this. Okay. And I will continue to adding details here also. Slowly. And corner has some extra lights here and here, just like this. And some parts of the eye is much more lighter, just like this. It is very light at this part. And here also, it is lighter and it is much more light here. And let's zoom in and select darker color, and I will select Lenard brush and this time, try to add some the texture lines just like this. These lines is at parts, some parts is darker, and some parts are lighter, just like this. Yeah. At other parts, I will add much more detail into the textures. 7. Adding Textures: Welcome again. In this part, we will continue to adding details to our eye illustration. This time, I will start from the top of the I and we'll also start from here. And I will add slowly details. Don't rush and just try to add details slowly. And I will continue to add details here. And with the new layer, I will continue to adding details. For example, it will be darker here, and it will be much more dark. And this part will be lighter and will be much more lighter here and we'll add some dark shadows here and will make this left side much more darker. And this part will be darker and especially this part will be maybe much more darker. And when you're painting it, just zoom in here and you will see some parts of the eye will be like much more lights over it. And I'm adding the lights just like this it gives a skin texture to it, depending on how it looks and for example, I will add another line here just like this and will make the corners much more darker because the parts in the dark and it will be much more lighter at this part. I will add lights just like this. And of course, at some parts, it's lighter like this. This part is lighter and this part is lighter. And I will continue to add some shadows over here to make it much more realistic. And I will add much more darks here and here. And here it will be darker. Yeah, just like this. And maybe we can even add lights here and here. And I will continue to add details over it. For example like this, I'm adding extra lights over here, just like this. And I will select a very smooth line. You can use any line art brush for it and we increase the lashes. For example, it comes like this, here and here. And here, I'm adding the lashes slowly, and this part will be slowly I will increase the lashes just like this. And I will add much more detail later. Sometimes you can switch the commas for see from the different angles, and it is also really important for creating realistic paintings because sometimes you can't see your mistakes, and changing the rotation is really helpful tool for understand. Like you see different from the different perspectives, and I will start from here and here and here. Yeah, and I will continue to adding details. And here and here. Yeah. And for these little details, you can use skin texture brush or create tiny lights just like this. I will keep using it for a while and create some textured look. You can get my brush set from my store. But you can use any spray brush or skin brush to create this texture. It is not so spatial brush, just some spray brush. And we'll add some dark spots here and here, just like this. Yep. And I will add lights here. I will keep adding the light parts here and here, I will continue to add the tail here just like this. And at some parts, I need to make it much more darker here. Yeah, it's looking great right now, and I will increase the tail level. For example, I will select smooth lime brush and we zoom in here. And we'll add some lights here, just like this. I'm defining it. And I will open new layer with the overlay mod. Yep. And I will continue to adding details just like this. Yeah. And like this, I'm increasing to detail level. 8. Adjusting Colors: Just like this. And I will continue to add some dark shadows here and here. Yep. And it is really going great. And some parts of the illustration, you can use the darker tones for make the eye much more visible from control side. For example, at this part, I will use this. And at some parts, I will use lighter color, for example, at this part and this part and will continue to increase the detail level in it, just like here and here. And here. Just like this. And at some parts of the This part is juicy, so I will add some short lines for show how it looks much more shiny and detailed. Yeah, just like this. And at the corners, it have extra lights, for example, at this part and near here, you can select much more lighter color. And for it, I will open another new layer and we select color and at the color mode, you can select much more saturated colors for the shadows of eye. And it is really important because you don't need to take the references colors and you create your own colors. For example, I can switch a bit green and add some green lights here at the corners of the eye. Which will give it extra volume and realism, and you can collect the layers like this and open another new layer with the color dth option right now and select this darker color, and just apply a bit just like this. For it, you can use this free hand brush. For example, I will select shape like this. And we paint over it. It creates a really good effect, but I will do it manually to make it look like much more standard and realistic, just like this. Yeah. Just like this. And I will start from this side. Yeah. And it is looking great right now. But what I can do is opening new layers maybe here. And this time, I will make much more confident lines for reflections of these details to make it much more realistic and we add some lights to make it much more realistic. And maybe it need to be a bit shorter. And zoom in here and add some shiny and small lines for eyelashes. And in it, it has some dark parts. For example, it have layers in it just like this, and I'm making these lines much more visible because I need to make it like this to make it like this. And I will add some lights here and here and maybe here. As I mentioned before, you don't need to make same as reference, but try to add many details as possible and try to simulate the highlights. For example, if you check it and see some patterning, it comes like this and creates bigger lines and some short lines. And other part we will continue to add details. 9. Paint Skin Textures: Welcome again. In this part, I will continue to adding details over the illustration. And what we're going to do is select smooth shading brush and open another new layer with the multiplayer layer mode and apply over it and make it much more darker, especially at this left part will be a really good amount of dark. And this part will be darker. And this part will be lighter. Just try to define how the lights and shadows places in it. Yeah. And this part will be lighter. And this part. And I will put lights here for make to pop up the details of the hair. And this part contains small details, and I will open another new layer with much more visible brush. I will put some lidal skin textures around here. And it creates the realism like this. But sometimes change the directions of the lights and sometimes try to make them much more smaller, much more lighter and try to try to make it much more different size wise, like some parts of it really lighter and some parts of it really darker. Just like this, I'm continue to adding details. Yeah. And at this corner, you can put much more shadow over here. And let's continue to adding shadows. I will make dark shadows here because it is not visible at some parts, but yeah, it is nice right now. And I will select the skin texture brush and I will open new layer with the overlay mode. Then I will continue to adding small details over it and it is part. Okay. Yeah. And these parts. These small details creates the realism. So it helps me to create realistic illustrations like this and we'll add some shadows over here. And some parts you can use wider color to create the light parts of the skin, and I'm using skin texture here. You can find these bright sets at my marketplace, as I mentioned before, and just like this. And this part will be lighter. And this part and it is great. From now, I will select smooth lime brush and zoom in here. Then I will put some textures without losing details. Yeah. And we'll continue to increase the detail level. For it, open another layer and use a white color and use it here just like this, like this. And like this. Like this. It looks great right now, and I will add light here. And here. Some parts of the skin is much more lighter than the other part, and some parts are really lighter. But with the larger brushes, you can mix it, and I'm not using any stamp tools because these kind of details show the skin much more realistic and it creates really good amount of balance depending on what you're painting. Yeah, and I will continue to add the tails here with a much more lighter brush, just like this. And I will continue to add in the tails. Let's zoom in here and select this corner and we'll apply some ights here. Yeah, it is great. And some parts you can use lighter brush here and here. It is looking great right now, and I will also increase the shadows of this part and this part and this part slowly. And at these parts of the leashes, near leashes, and you can increase the lights. For example, you can use heat like this. Some parts are much more lighter and some parts 10. Complete Illustration: Much more darker and will continue to add the tail. And it is pretty good for now, and I will increase the tail level. And from now, I will close the photo reference because I want to continue by myself. And I will delete some parts of the sketch because I don't need it anymore, and I can use some darker brush for create eyebrows. Yeah, it is pretty good right now. And I will use some yellow color here and we paint it here just like this. Yeah. And let's zoom here and paint this corner much more darker. And this part will be like this. And in some parts, it will be leather here. And what I'm going to do is open another new layer and select smooth shading brush and a bit much pink colors and change the layer mode to color then apply over your portrait. For example, it will also give much more natural colors to your illustration, and I will zoom in here again with a very smooth line brush, and I will add details of lashes, and I will finish the illustration and hope you enjoy this process. And if you like this class, do not forget to check my other classes because I try my best to create good and high quality contents for you. And let's make this a bit, much more darker. And it is great. I will select skin texture and we'll give a much more textures here for make it even much more complicated and detailed. I will add some textures. And maybe we can use freckles, for example, at this part, maybe with much more lighter color. Maybe too much lighter colors here. I will use it. And if you don't have the textures, you can use any manual brush or create these textures over the portrait. Just like this. And let's zoom in here again with some smooth lime brush and increase the detail level of the eye because there is a really detailed textures in eye and especially this place will be much more lighter. Yeah. It is really nice and we're going really great. I will increase some lights over here. And here. Also, I will add some highlights here. And for the eyebrows, you can increase the detail of some parts of it, like, especially these singular sites will be much more effective. And these parts will be much more detailed. And for hair, you can add some tiny details like this. It is actually hair not hair painting, course, but I show you these exact techniques. For example, I painted and adding some shadows here and lights, and it creates a really detailed look to do illustration. And I will use take brush again and we'll come over here and paint over it. Also, open another new layer with the overlay mode and select darker color then apply over it like dark makeup. Just like this, make it much more darker and strong because it is makeup. And I will continue to making it like this part is really, really, really, really dark, and it is great right now, and I will make it also. And I will finish this illustration. But I want to increase much more realism before I finish. For now, this time, I will select darker color than it and will apply with the overlay mode again. At some places, just like this, it creates darkness. And I will select a white color. I mean, a bit much pink, dark pink, like this. And I will add some veins because sometimes we see veins of the eye just like this. Yeah. And thank you again for joining in this tutorial and
