1. Stand Out on YouTube!! (Welcome): Welcome to this class. My name is still an army YouTube. I've been doing YouTube for about four or five years now, and I've currently got 44 thousand subscribers, almost 45 thousand subscribers. And today I'm going to be teaching you how you can edit your videos in Premier Pro to stand out on YouTube, stand out from the crowd and essentially create engaging content and make your viewers want to watch the whole thing, which is key to YouTube success, even if you are a begin as a Premier Pro or YouTube, this class is going to be of immense value to you on your journey and it's easy to follow as well. In general, on YouTube, between 20, 30% on average of people click on a video and click off within the first 30 seconds. And today, I'm gonna be teaching you how you can stop that from happening by teaching you this very cool intro styles that I've adopted and that ultimately will improve your content. 2. Proof it Works! (The Final Product): The first class we're going to look at what it actually is I'm going to teach you and why it's important. So it's a couple of why it's important, as I was saying in the intro, between 20, 30% on average, viewers dropped out of a video within the first 20-30 seconds. Now obviously I've used dropout of your video. Your video isn't gonna get a lot of watch time and algorithmically on YouTube, your video isn't going to be it promoted places because it looks like people on enjoying your content or watching it. It's not engaging content. So today we're going to put an end to that by teaching you this very cool, engaging intro dive, dive used. And that will ultimately give you a better chance of creating engaging content on YouTube. So here it is. Today I'm going to tell you the story of how when I was in my final year at university, I studied for less time and got better grades compared to my previous academic years. And hopefully by the end of this video, you will learn how you can do the same. So exactly what I'm going to be teaching you today is how to create a dramatic intro that will keep us hooked into your videos. Because as you can see in this sort of video here, if I was to just come in and start speaking, I feel like people might go out there. I really want to watch this. Maybe I'll watch something else. Maybe I've got distracted and click somewhere else. Because attention spans are very easily lost on the internet, is there's so much choice out there. But by adding dramatic music, a montage of clips and a nice Adjustment Layer and crisp and clean audio to the intro of the video, it really creates an atmosphere and it really creates this kind of foreboding quality content. It's about come. And I think for me it's a really great thing because even when I rewatch them myself, I like it. I'm like, yeah, that's engaging and that's what I wanted to if every one of my videos, and it does take a bit of time, but it's definitely worth in the long-run. So the plan for this class is that I'm going to break down step-by-step how I went from nothing at all to creating a video intro like the one I just played you. And by the end of this class, you'll also be able to create a video intro on a similar level to the one you've just seen. So before we jump into how you can edit something like what is played you, you need to get your clips ready, your voiceover Ready. And then we're good to go.
3. Editing the Voice Over (Laying the Foundations): Welcome to class to adding elements. So right here you can see that I've got Adobe Premiere Pro open along with some clips on the right-hand side that they're going to be used in my Montage once they load, you can see on my hair. So we've got some plugging stuff in with Dan, got some talking me at the library and we've got some textbooks and stuff like that. And then on the left-hand side, we've got the actual clip of the voiceover. Well, I'm not going to use the felt my voice-over. I'm not going to use the image of me talking. I'm just going to take the audio and essentially use that. So firstly, what we need to do is put all of these elements once we've dragged and dropped them from our computer files area onto the Adobe Premiere Pro timeline here, simple drag and drop. We need to sort them out so that they are cut and ready to be used in terms of the voice over because the voice overs the key element here. So I'm just going to assume you're a beginner. If you've already seen my premier probiotics in class via YouTube, then you know this. But to cut a clip, we're going to press on the C button for shortcut, which is the raise its hole here. You can click here. And we're going to chop where we don't want the clips to be. Let me think. So. I'm thinking right here, that space. Every single student has to rise several essays during their time at university. Great, so we've got our first bit of the voiceover we want, and then we're going to ship out the second beer by clicking on the timeline on the, on the clip we don't want With the rays at all. So if sectioned off the bit we want, as you can see right here, which is the highlighted behave if I click on it. And then we've got this dead space here, which if I click on air, press backspace, delete, it'll go away. And we're going to essentially go through that process for the whole clip. And you guys need to do the same. So we're gonna go raise tobacco. Something that many time-space cared about. Different stuff out is the MOOC. And frankly going over, Oh, so you've got another error there. So you can see that I'm going to trim from where I say quite frankly the first time to RSA, quite frankly the second time, because I don't want to overlap anything quite. So in arrays the first bit, then raise the second budgets before. Press the V or the arrow at the top here to click back on the clip and then press backspace. Backspace a gap again like we had the first time. So you've got a gap here now, a gap here. And we're gonna go through the whole clip and do that. And so I've just trimmed out using this rays at all here. Show CASI or click on it and the arrow tool by pressing backspace The best I don't want to have in my voice over. And you can see now that I've got gap voiceover. Voiceover, gap voiceover. Now we want to get rid of them gaps so we can just click on a trip clip While we were only the arrow tool and just drag it until it automatically has the other one. And then we're going to highlight all three of them by drawing a rectangle on them. Then drag or drop three of them next to each other. Then I'm gonna highlight all of them again, drag and drop them all to the star, the timeline. And then we should have something like a consistent voice over. Student has to rise several essays during their time at university. And I'm a click on this extra clip here, double-click and then pressure. If we delete an edge disappear, every single student has to rise several essays during their time at university. Essays are something that many people dread and often is very easy to go over the word count. And frankly, going over the word count and trying to trim stuff out is one of the most frustrating processes. Perfect. So there is our voice-over. We've got a o nicely aligned, ready to start doing the intro.
4. Adding Broll in Adobe Premiere Pro: Welcome to class three. Now in last class we looked at adding elements. And in this one we're going to look at adding now or clips and B roll on top of our VoiceOver. So you can see that on the right-hand side here, I've got all of my clips that I want to play serve my VoiceOver. So what we're gonna do is take a look at what clips we have and you'll have your own different clips. And you're indifferent voiceovers, and we're going to highlight them all. We're then going to double-click or right-click and click on unlink. What is does it links the audio files at the bottom and the images at the top and the video files at the top. We're going to then draw a rectangle and highlight the audio files on while on this arrow is hold here, press backspace. And that removes all of the audios from the non voiceover clips because we don't want that. We want clean voiceover audio with separate clips on top and only the clips. And then what we're gonna do, we're gonna decide what clips we want to go where. So this first one is to looking at my dissertation, which is essay writing. And if I remember in the voice over, I think I took about essay writing right at the start. A single student has to rise several essays during that time a university. Exactly. So what I'm gonna do is drag and drop that clip above the audio layer and above the first layer of imagery on the, the video timeline. And then you can see that if we were to play again, every single student has to rise several essays during that time a university. We've then got a nice clip, which isn't my face going over the intro as I say the voiceover. And then we're simply going to do the same thing and match up the clips to what we're saying in the voice-over throughout this intro. Summit, drag and drop them all up here just now, and then decide what one's I won't wear. So secondly, warmer. And then the second clip I owe 1, I'm talking about being frustrated from going up the word count. I feel I, me walking in the library focused is a great time to put that clip. So I'm gonna put that they're trying to trim stuff out is one of the most frustrating processes during essay writing. And you can see that in that clip I had a tiny bit of if an arrow at the end where you can see a flip or something else, then what I'm gonna do while and the v total is hovering over the end of it, click on it, drag and drop. That is slowly trim it very easy. And you can see what kind of building this up like a jigsaw. So here I've got some B-roll of me writing, I'm going to drag and drop that right here. Then player, let's see how it looks bursty as something that many people dread and often is very easy to go over the word count. And frankly, going over the word count and trying to trim stuff out is one of the most frustrating processes. So you can see that this whole theme, I'm talking about writing essays and I've got clips like typing, writing, thinking, oh, clips that are very relevant typing essays and are really useful for telling the story of my, of my video. So the story in the B-roll in the intro and the voice over all have to be connected and form this kind of smooth formation. I've just finished up, as you can see, joining my bureau clips to my voice over. And let's take a look at what it looks like right now. Every single student has to rise several essays during that time, a university says something that many people dread and often is very easy to go over the WordCount. And I'm frankly going up the word count and trying to try stuff out. It's frustrating processes. Say writing and writing S is itself is a great skill to have. And today I'm going to look at ways how we can reduce our word essay count without reducing the quality of the actual essay. And boom, the foundations for our intro there is going to hook viewers and readers and listeners and watches has been set. It's 28 seconds long. And it flows with a voiceover and some cool B-roll clips.
5. Standing Out With Music (KEY!!): You're back in another class on me, I fill on and thank you for coming back. So we've laid the foundations of our YouTube intro. We're now going to add music to. It's really give it that dramatic fill and that sort of thing that's going to pull you in and make you want to watch the video. So a great source for free, no copyright music is usually border library. You have to credit the people who made the music in the description. And essentially they have links to, you can download the YouTube. No copyright free music from the YouTube page is run by YouTube distinct. So it's definitely the Git. So you wanna do choose a piece of music and downloaded. Once you've downloaded it or you need to do is drag and drop it from your files on your timeline. And you'll see right here that once I drag and drop it, it comes up here. We're gonna do the same as what we did last time with the clips. We're going to essentially scroll to the very right hand side, so it's on its own. And we're going to look for the clip that we want in terms of the section of duty we want which matches our VoiceOver. So in mine, I'm talking about essays. And I want to kind of go for a CIO, kind of upbeat like young person, funky nature sort of thing. So the beam comes in there and it's quite funky. So I'm gonna start it just before the drop. So I'm going to on the arrow tool head over to the end of the clip, drag it to the blue arc over. I want to start the clip and then drag the audio all the way left back to where was 0, as you can see right here at the very start. And then I'm going to trim it the same way, drag and drop. And we've got this now. Single student has to write something that many of you said the audio and the music is quite loud. It's drowning out my voice. So I need to lower the levels of the audio. So to do this on the music clip only gone the music clip, right click or double-click them, press audio again, and then press minus ten decibels, see how that sounds. And today's every single student has to rise several essays during their time at university. Essays or something that is still a tiny bit loud, I'm going to reduce it by minus four. And that should do the trick. Every single student has to rise several essays during that time, a university essays are something that many people dread and often is very easy to go over the word count. And I frankly going over the block count and trying to trim stuff out is one of the most frustrating processes during essay writing. So gray is looking really good. I'm really happy with the voice server. The music go well together. There is a slight error here. Listen, count. And I say and twice. Okay, so let me do. The workout is dragged by the music's I want to chop that. Then find the bit where I say end twice and chop how one at the end. So you can see how many of my razor tool out for beginners. You can know the Ashoka, Ashoka, chop all three of them. And then press backspace. Then I'm going to double-click, right-click rapidly and pay musket, put the music back. Trying to trip stuff is one of the most frustrating processes during essay writing. And writing S is itself, is a great skill to have hamper whom we've got the music And now this intro is really coming together.
6. Colour Grading To Create Quality!: And k. Gray, Welcome back to the class again, you're doing really well. You've almost finish this class and we've almost made a slap bang quality youtube video intro. So the next thing we're gonna do is we're going to add a Adjustment layer, which is a sort of color grading for the front of this centro. So only turned on the volume is for now. And I'm going to head over to the assembly section. You can see this little icon here, new item, we're going to click that. We're going to press Adjustment Layer. Okay, and it's gonna pop up here. We're going to drag and drop it onto a timeline above the other to image. The other two video layers, extended the whole way through to the end of our clip and then click on it, right? So now we've gone adjustment layer. That's going to be our color grading thing. We're going to click on Color, the top menu. Then we're going to click on creative. And then we're going to choose a starter filter and play around, see what 1G prefer, et cetera, et cetera. I quite like ice for today, I think. Yeah, I'm gonna go with eyes for today. So why did I see that blue ice right here gives a nice sort of blue tint to it. My, my add a bit of a fade there so you can see what faith does. You can play around with the whole thing. I might increase the vibrance, the colors a tiny bit as well, just pops a bit. And on basic correction I might increase the shadows and I'll go for a bit of a more of a blue tint. And I think that, that should look fairly interesting and intriguing. I currently have non-modal my computer runs why conceivably three looks like. But if you play around with all of these monitor things here, and all of these sliders, and choose one of these sliders here. What you can do is create really nice color balance to match your videos style in your intro. But let's take a look at what mine looks like right now is something that many people dread and often is very easy to go over the word counts and frankly going over the word count and trying to trim stuff out. And yeah, I think it's got a nice blue tint to it now, and I'm quite happy with that. So you can see that we've just very, very quickly calibrated it. If you wanted to go for a vintage Le Core, a different sort of color look, there are plenty of tutorials, the upbringing, how soon, and on YouTube and elsewhere you can find on that. And a final few things you might wanna do to spice up the intro is to kind of add a bit of text. Exams. Essays, for example. Essays are tough and you kind of want to basically random pieces of text that match your theme, your video, and stuff like that dotted throughout the video. Throught the intro. Some are put in the bottom right-hand corner. Essays a tough. Then auto add text by the way, one shor, narrow tool. Click the text and click on the screen and then just type. Say here and I'm going to trim it. I've decided a bit more motivation to the viewer. Most frustrating process during essay writing. And writing S is itself is a great skill. Sfs is going to look at ways how we can reduce a word, I say count without reducing the quality of the actual essay. Boom, it's done. So you can see there how really I decided if Phoebus of texts as well, not really kind of added something to the intro, the color grading, the text, and the actual trimmings of the clips. You really need to play around with them and make them perfect. I think mine are good right now, but no perfect because obviously I'm showing you a demonstration of it and I don't want to take up too much time by setting here in silence, making it perfect. But I'm sure you get a rough jest.
7. Before Vs After (Big Difference!): Now welcome back to another class. And now in this one I just wanna say, I'm sure you can see how simple it is to make an intro that is very engaging. We've just done in the space of about 20 minutes if that. And I feel like anyone watching this is such a great tool for beginners or even intermediate and stuff like that to engage, create engaging content. And if you didn't enjoy it to lever a view. And if you want me to do a more advanced version of this wire like a mastering audio, really doing a correct and great color grade. And today I'm going to look at ways how we can reduce our word essay count without reducing the quality of the actual essay. And here's what it would look like if we were just speaking. Every single student has to write several essays during their time at university. Essays or something that many people dread. And often it is very easy to go over the word count. And frankly, going over the word count and trying to trim stuff out is one of the most frustrating processes during essay writing. And I'm sure you guys can see the difference is to me it's a 100% more engaging. When you've got an adjustment layer for the color grade, you've got text, you've got music, and you go voiceover. That would make me want to watch this channel more often and subscribe and engaged in the content.
8. Class Project: Okay, welcome to the class projects. Now, you've seen in the last class and all the other class is how I did it. My version of an engaging intro. And I think that for the class project, I want you guys to create the same thing. I want you to take the skills you've just learned, put them into practice by creating a sewer sort of voiceover layered with B row segment and texts and music and adjustment layer. I want you to create your own version of y just made for video on any sort of topic you want.
