1. Introduction: Hello there, My name is
and yesterday snack. And I'm a teacher,
illustrator and author. I love to include little cute animals
into my works of art. In this course, you will learn
how to create and design a cute cat journal book like this one from start to finish, incorporating your love
for tax and the desire to practice and express herself
in a creative and artsy way. This is the perfect way to keep some of your
favorite memories of your cast that you can go back to Add to enjoy
for days to come. This could even
make a perfect gift to give to someone else
who's crazy about cats, or maybe they have
their own Cat Pet. In this course, you
will learn how to draw a cute cat
from basic shapes. How to use your
preferred art medium to add a touch of color. Simple techniques for
designing your pages, creating cat content,
choosing photos, incorporating lots of fun, putting it into pictures, putting it into words, creating a story
about your cats, making it meaningful for you. Capturing best moments and
lots of other journal ideas. You don't have to finish
it all in one go either. You can work through
one page at a time. You could even pick out your favorite pages
and work on those. But most of all, you're
giving your time to load it with all of
those special things, even as your cat
grows and changes. And you'll be able to take these skills that
you've learned from this course to create many
other journals of your choice. Maybe you'd want to
make a dog journal or birthday journal,
a travel journal. The idea, an aim
of this course is to bring new memories
and loads of joy. If I were to this journal
linked together with you, see you in class
and stay positive.
2. Materials Needed: So welcome to this
little course on creating the cutest
ever cat journal. So I have this
book here that you are welcomed to buy on Amazon. You will find that the ink in the description of the course. This will help simplify your job because some of the
work is already done. For example, each page
already has a topic. There's a space for a picture. You have a nice cover to personalize with
your cat's name. And most of the boxes are
already done for you. So I'm going to be
doing this course following along each
class with this book. So feel free to find it either on my website
or on Amazon. Or you could also just
get a regular notebook, something without lines
like this or one like this, depending on how many
pages you want to use or make for
your cat journal. So you have these few
options of materials. If you prefer. You could also just use some regular white paper
and just do a few pages, your catch journal and make it as opposed to or picture frame. So really the options
are up to you how you want to personalize
this project, this course, or maybe
gifted to somebody else, so you get to choose. But for today's course, I'm going to be working
with this book. I have here, my contents, and we're going to
go through each page together as we create
our cat journal. Next, you will need a
pencil with an eraser. So I have my eraser
at the end here. You will need a ruler for
all your boxes and lines. You need some scissors and glue, as well as a thin
black pen or a marker. And to create all our cute
little kitty cat pictures, we will use some colors so
you can either go ahead and choose some colored
pencils or markers. Or you can even use a set
of watercolor paints. So this is really up to you, which you prefer what
preferred art medium you like. So let's get started.
3. Sketching: So to get started, I'm just going to take you through a very simple way
to draw your kitty cat. If you would like to delve
more into the details of this and draw different poses, different sort of cats. Then you can go to one courses, which gives you seven
different poses of a cute kitty cats. That just for this course, I'll be showing you one pose. So you get your pencil. And we're going to
start out by drawing a circle towards the
top of our page. Circle a little bit over polish. We're going to add two triangles
to the top for the ears. So I like to start my kidneys
with some basic shapes. I think everybody
can draw a shape. So that helps to make it really simple for any beginner
who would like to do this. And then I'm going to draw
another circle on the bottom, smaller than the first one, because we're doing
a little kitty cat. Now if you have a cat
instead of a kitty, you could make the bottom
circle, the lower circle, a little bit bigger
than the head, if that's what you wanted, which is going to go
with the proportion of a little kitty cat or a baby and go
with the big head. Next, I'm going to make
just an imaginary line in the middle of my circle
and draw two little eyes, again to doodle shapes, ovals, and a third little shape, right in the center tiny
bit below the eyes. I will make a little triangle. Handed a little line going down. Next for the body, I'm going to make two
little lines like this. Little pause. And then add a little
moon shape for his tail. So these are the
basic shapes here, just U-shapes and then I'll make little curved shapes
on the ears there. And when this side and a couple
of whiskers on each side. So these are the
very simple shapes. If my cat, we use the oval. Another size, oval, little
smaller for kitten. We use two triangles for the ears and a third little
triangle for the nose. We used to more
ovals for the eyes. We use two straight lines are curved lines twice
for the pause. And then we use
some three little, use the end of the pause
and we use the half moon, crescent for a tail. Then we used a straight line and do more straight
lines for the whiskers. Well, that's the very
basic gist of it.
4. Inking: Now I'm going to
switch to my pen. If you prefer to do
this still with pencil, then that's okay too. I'm just going to
already go ahead and do it with my ink pen. Because all I need is just
to follow the basic shapes. So as you can see,
I'm just making little strokes instead
of one big stroke, which makes it look more
furry, more fluffy, little bit more character
to my acute kidney. They just follow
the same direction. For my face. I'm going to start
halfway into the ear. And again, make little strokes. This time I can do some little back-and-forth
strokes like this. Again, starting from the middle, back-and-forth, little bit
more fluff on the cheeks. And it'll all less
towards the center. I'm not going to fully close it. Maybe add just a few
little dots like that. And since we're on the head, on the face, I'm just
going to do the ears. The ears again, little lines
all the way to the center. Here I can and add a
little bit of shade. Since this is inside the ear. Now for the eye. For the eyes. After I draw the outlines
of the two little ovals, I'm going to draw a little oval in the center and
then color the rest. And then you just
follow along and do your outlines on
your pencil strokes. Again for the body, I'm going to give
a little texture, little more fluff and for
just use little sketch lines, as well as for the
little legs and pots. I might curve in
his pause a little bit towards the middle just
for some extra cuteness. And same with the tail. The tail can be even a
little bit more fluffy. Make your lines a
little thicker. And then of course,
depending on your cat, you can add some
little extra features. My cat is totally white, so I'm just going to leave it. But I'm showing you here just another example.
If you wanted to. You have different
colored cat or ginger cat with patterns. And again, I'm just
using my pen and sketchy strokes doesn't
need to be perfect. And it gives that
hand-drawn look, which is very key. There we have our
little kicks in. And of course feel free
to erase the lines.
5. Coloring and Shading: So you can get out whatever
art medium you prefer. I'm going to be using color
pencils for this one. You can prepare your
paints or your markers, crayons, whatever
you have on hand. And I'm going to just add
a little bit of color. So I'm choosing a brown
as well as a gray. And I'm going to blend those
together a little bit. So I'm starting with whatever
is in the back or behind. I'm thinking of where my
light source is coming from. I think I like it
coming from the front. So his ears, this part
is a little bit behind, maybe his nose I could add underneath the
little bit of shade. A little bit of shade
under his head. Since he has a big
head behind the paws. I'm just doing quick strokes. Nothing too fancy. You can kind of go with
the same look as you are. As you're drawing strokes. I think the more rough it looks than it looks a little bit
more furry and fluffy. So don't feel bad if you
don't get it perfect. So if your cat is
a certain color, of course, go ahead
and colored fully. This is just to give
you an example, I might add a little
bit of gray as well, or even a little
bit more shading. I think it helps the little
character to stand out a bit. A little bit more depth. Always add a little bit on
the edges of the cheeks. Here behind little bit. I'm just going back
and forth between both colors as you can see. So again, we're just drawing
one cat here for this book, for this project, for
our little cat journal, we will need cats and
all different poses. If you want to practice
your drawing skills, then be sure to check
out my class on how to draw Cat and seven
different poses. You can download the pages
that I've included here, which gives you lots
of cat pictures of the ones that I'll be using if you want it to save
you a little time. And the other option is to go and purchase
my book on Amazon. You decide what option
you want to go for. I'm going to use a red or pink, as well as add a little
bit to the ears. Just to bring out a
little bit of color. You can even check
out your cat's ear. What color are they? Are there knows. This may not be too realistic, but there's always a little, a little hint of
pink, I think. So. Even though this one is a
little bit brighter, It's okay. If you want, you can add
some little pink cheeks. But I find fun too is I just do a little
color and then I, with my finger, I
smudge it a little bit. We have our cute little
kitten in color. And I'm looking forward to the next class where we'll
get to start our journal.
6. Why and What: So I'm going to take my book
and you can take your book, your notebook, or
your piece of paper. You can either use the two
last pages from the booklet and cut out these
cute little cats here to include into
the rest of the book. You can just print it out from the download that I've
included with this class. That's what I've done here. The other thing that you
will need is a few photos. I've gone ahead and look through all my photo albums just to capture a few fun
clips of my kitty cat. So some when she was really little so much she
was a bit older. Some funny, some cuties, even some of her family, her brothers and sisters, some funny little
things that she's done. Some sweet moments. Anyway, so you can go
through your photos and print them out or at least
gathered together in a file. And that way, you can have
them all in one place when you're creating
this cat journal, I like to ask myself before I get started
with this project, what is the reason
for my cat journal? Is it as acute funds souvenir? Is it to give to a friend? Is it a gift for my child? Is it because I love
my kidney so much? Is it because she's
so precious to me? So you think about why you
want to do this project. I think it's a really fun
question to ask yourself. That way it will be a help as you're going
through this project. And they'll probably be lots of things that you can think of on the way of things
that you want to include it in your cat journal. Now I'm going to cut out my
pictures, my little photos. As I think about some
of the things that I want to include in
my cat journal. I think this can be a
great time of reflection, getting curious, having fun. And some of these photos
might give you ideas of what you want to include
in your journal. That's why for me it
helped to, first of all, go through all my photos, see which ones I
wanted to include. I think it was
really fun for me to include some that have a
bit of action to them. Not just my kitty sitting
down like this one. This one is so beautiful. It's like a Honda
ad or something. She's so cute and adorable. But I really had fun choosing
other things that she did, like play with a ball or make
a friend with a stuffy cat, of course, go into basket. How she loved to
get under blankets, SIP her milk through a tea
sets with my daughter. And here I think anything that
she can bring a little bit of joy and action
with your photos, makes this journal all the more fun and exciting and a beautiful
souvenir to go back to. So like this little book says, it's a place to create and personalize this kitty
cat journal about your favorite pet to record some of your
fondest memories together. So that's kind of my goal
with this class as well. A DIY journal for animal
lovers and pet owners. With this book, you'll create an amazing personalized memory of your little animal friend, guided video tutorials
with ideas on how you can fill and decorate each page. So this is what we're doing now. I'll be showing how you can fill up these pages of your journal. I chose, I think one photo
for each page at least. So this will take a little
bit of preparing in advance as you look
through your cat photos. But even before going
through the course, you can just pick some
of the photos that you love and then you'll decide
where to fit them in best. Don't worry about that. I've just printed
out a page of them, but I think I'm
going to print out a second page because I'll
have more space in my journal. I'm just using these ones as
examples to show you some of the ways that you can use your photos as you include
them into this journal. Just as a little recap. Go for cuteness, go for
fun, go for action. Go for different poses. Just so all your photos aren't
just one pose, your cat, sitting in the same way, the same place, each photo
that wouldn't make it fun. And try to find photos of your cat during different
times of his life as well. That way you can compare. It's actually fun to
compare when he's young. I'm saying she because my cat is a sheet when she's young, when she gets older. So I have my photos all cut up. Some of them tells stories, some of them share memories. Some of them are just
for fun and cuteness. And that's what a
pictures for me, a picture is worth
a thousand words. So that's why I love to
fill my journal with loads of pictures,
not just text. And that's what we're
going to do in here. Add a little bit of both.
7. Intro Page: So your first page, you will include your kitty
cats photo, so his name. And here you have a big blank space for
a photo of your cat. I think I'm going to
include this one here. So be sure to have all
your supplies on hand, your ruler or your glue, your scissors, your
pencil, and your pen. That way you'll have everything
you need right at hand. So I'm going to start by
gluing my first photo. This is kind of like
our introduction page, and it's really fun to do this kind of like
our title page. I love starting our page. It kind of sets
everything in motion. And for your name,
you can write it with pencil first to make
sure it fits nicely. So my cat's name is Mimi. I'm going to write it in cursive and then I'm going
to go over it with pen. And here's a time you can add a little bit more
color if you want. Again, how we learn to do
a little bit of shading. This is, this part is really up to you,
which you want to, you want to decorate this page, I might make this one
a full ginger cat. My cat has a little
cousin who's this color? For my shades, I'm going to add a little red or brown color. Again, I'm just following the basic shading rules that we went through
in the previous class. Maybe an orange. And here I'm going to
make a little gray cat. Little pink nose, pink
ears, little pink cheeks. You can decide what else you
want to add to your page. Either you could add some
color here or you could draw a few little paw prints. I never would give a little
bit of life to your page. You could even load it with
photos if you wanted to. Then I'm including a
little bit of color. If there was something
your cat and joy, you could include
it here as well. For example, if you wanted
that little ball of yarn. Just fun little
additions like that. So I'm going to trace
it over with my pen. Wanted to, you could add little shapes are
a little fun toys. Going to erase my pencil lines. So I used a pencil case. I'm not too sure if myself, but really this is your book, so don't feel afraid to add
in whatever makes you happy, whatever makes you
think about your cat. Our cat has a cute little brush. She loves to be
brushed every day. I'm going to include that. Of course, she has tons of little firms that come out that go all over the house good at something fun to
remember her for. And her brushes bright pink. So think about little details
like that that make it special and unique and
personalize to your own cat. She's such a fun cuddly
cat too, though. I love her so much, which is why I've
included a little hearts. You could add some cute little
noises if you wanted to. Something that we liked. Nickname her as is me, knee, even though her name
is Mimi like this, she's always thinking
about herself. So we call her Mimi this way. There's my food. She's always hungry. So definitely need to
add in her bowl of food here somewhere
on this page. This is just a fun
little page that says it all says something
about your cats, maybe your cats character
something she loves, something that you do often, a little habit, little
cutie thing she does. This is where you can
add it if you wanted to. You could also make
a little pattern. In this box. I photo doesn't
fill up the whole box, so I'm going to add a little pattern to
make it fun and cute. So here you can think
about your cat. You can think about
something that you love. Color that you like a
pattern that you like, something that
reminds you of her. And then I'm going to just draw a little black line around my photo. Keep messing up. So I'm going to make a
little bow out of it. Since I've messed up already
a couple of times here. I just turn it
into a little bow. So that's my little trick when I make a mistake with my pen. Since it's the hand-drawn look. Don't worry, we can always
find a way to fix it up. My cat loves to
be out in nature. So going to add some these. Actually, she loves some
of my plants in the house. She loves to play with my
garden plants as well, or to call her
nose in the grass. I'm going to draw a
few little leaves. If your cat is a little girl, you can always add some flowers. Make it cute and girly as well. So you have loads of options. For your cover design. You can add it in
black and white, or you can add it in color. So you decide you want to add some
color to your flowers. You can do that as well. You just leave it
black and white. It's really up to you. So there we have our
first little kitty cat. Each CAD page for
our cat journal.
8. Purr-fect Welcome: So for this page, we have our little box. If you don't have
this bokeh or if you haven't downloaded
what you needed to, you can just go ahead and
draw with your ruler. This is what the rulers for. The rectangle in the
middle of your paper. And I'm going to continue by drawing a little
bit more to it. So you can follow along
with me if you want. I want to make like a
picture frame here. I'm going to trace another
line on each side. And we're going to make a
cute little picture frame. So this page is
welcoming our cat. A welcome page to
his little journal, which this one can
be loads of fun. Then I'm going to make
little twirly lines, just like little waves all
along the picture frame. That way it looks more like a frame rather
than just the box. This is a way that you can
personalize it. Your cat. These storylines
make me think of the wall or little strings
she likes to play with. And feel free to add a photo. Once again, your catch
right in the middle. I'm going to go
through my photos. Might include this one here. I don't really have one
of the perfect size, although this one this is the first time we've
ever seen her. She was with my daughter. We went to visit her. She was one month old, but she wasn't even
ready yet to leave home, to leave her mommy. But we came and visited
her, said hello. So this really would be
the best welcome photo. I think. Your cutout also going to cut one
of these pictures. So I'm thinking maybe this one, you can choose the one that you feel you would like
best for this page. I think it's just cute to
have these little cats. Extra, kind of another
way to personalize it. You choose your little cat
pose that best fits your page. You can cut it
directly on the lines or you can leave some
space like I have. I don't mind leaving
a little space. It makes me think of
a little sticker. And these ones, you can
feel free to color them watercolor or with marker because it's not
directly on your book. So before I glue anything, I'm just going to
design my page. Again. I can include the name of my cats or any nicknames
that we have for her. And here I'm going to write big letters, big bold letters. Welcome. So before I do that, I'm going to just write it
real thin with my pencil. Just to know where to
place the letters. I'm just going to go
with some fun letters. I might make it each
letter a different font. This for fun, I'm including a couple of letters and boxes. This is almost like a
little doodle project because we're
laying our journal. We're making it from scratch. We're adding photos. So it's like cutting
out dude lane. Again, I might make
some little paw prints. The pop prints will
come from here. They can be working
their way up like that. Since I'm just welcoming my cat with my little leftover
pieces from the cutouts. I'm going to draw a little, since it's a baby, you're going to draw a little pacifier. Maybe it's too big. Let's see how you can draw a
little baby bottles. I'm just adding a
cute little details, so that's a fun thing about it. You ask yourself what some, something fun that you
could include on this page. You love about your cat
that makes it cute. Baby ish. I'm going to start
gluing things down. So feel free to have to get
a bigger photo if you want. That way you can take
up the whole space. Classifier. Can always draw a little
baby bottle to course, we know that cats don't
drink milk from a bottle, but it could be just
acute kidney thing. Here I'll write her name again. I think letters are really key, especially for little
animal journal. So company. You can even write
a little something to our family or something, or you can write to our home. Here I'm going to draw the
line again around since I have lots of space
around the photo, we can even fancy up the
frame if we want to. I can even draw a double line. So here's our little
welcome page. Again, you can fill it with whatever colors
that you would like or some extra stickers
or more doodles. I'll leave that up to your imagination to personalize
it even more for you. I'll see you in next class.
9. Craft Project: I have this book with
some old paper and I really liked the look of this old writing, old papers. So I'm going to include
a little bit of that in my journal. I might just cut some to make it a little easier
without having to measure. I'm just going to
cut some lines. And I can glue that on
top of my picture frame. So if you have an old book
or even some magazines, I'm sure that's something
that you can find easily are from them trash or your neighbors might
have something. So I'm including things here that I don't think should be
a problem for you to find. I don't want to make
it difficult for you and continuing this project. Now if you don't have this,
it's not totally necessary. I just like adding
a little bit of more color and contrast or maybe some different
texture to my page. So you just cut it
to the right size that I'm going to just measure and draw
the little catchy. I know where to cut. Nothing too
complicated and fast. He doesn't even
have to be perfect. It's kind of nice to have
that little patchy look too. Then I just put glue down on
my book. And then glue. It. Seems to be the
simple, simplest, especially because this
paper is very old, so it rips easily. So it's easier to put the glue. On my page. We're not going to
do a lot of gluing because this book is
not going to take so much that even just a little bit color like this I can each page is going
to look really cute.
10. Information: For this page, we will work on some of the
information for our cat. Cats journal is not
just as a fun souvenir, but I think it also
serves as a purpose to remember important details or
information about our cat. Things that we don't want to
forget or in case you have to move somewhere else and you want to give your
cat to somebody else, to a friend, it
will be helpful to have this information
to pass onto them. So here's what we're going
to do with this page. If you don't have this book, you can just go ahead
and draw a square. I made it a little
bit angled like that, and then a little
box on the top. And here I'm going to
write first photo. So in our previous page, we had the first time we
saw the cat in real life. But this is the first
photo of our cats. So a friend of ours
gave us this cat. So she had some photos from
when she was first born. So here's one of them and here's her with her
brother and sister. So I'm not sure
which went to place. If you have space for two, you can put two of them. I think this one is
her first photo is she doesn't even
have much further, so I might glue that wind down. So as we did with the other one, our previous page, we add a
little bit of brown paper. For this one, I'm going to
include a little side paper. So I'm going to
cut my whole book and I'm going to measure, I think I want it around this smudge and I'm going to
give it a little grip lock. Something cute about. If you don t have an
old book like this, you can also just doodle
that it'll freeze on the side. Cute as well. Because it's longer. I'm just going to add a little
bit more from this piece. So I'm gonna clue that there. And here's where
I'm going to place the important
information of my cats. So something, some of the
things that come to mind when I think about
my cat is her breed. We write it with pen so
that you can see it. What cat breed is
she, if you know, her birthday, color for color. So some of these things
are pretty obvious, but I think they're cute. To remember something
that if you had two, you can think about
if you had to describe your cat to somebody, what would you describe her ads? So maybe you'd include a breed
eye color or four color. So I have her birthday and
also I will also include the date arrived to our home. That could be a fun
thing to remember. That way you know exactly
how long you've had her ears some space for
more things as well. Maybe if she had her
vaccinations, brother, sister, you get to decide
what you want there. I'm just showing you some
of the things that I included for my cat journal. So maybe you can find
some of these journals in a shock at a pet
store or bookstore. But I think there's nothing like making your
own version of it. You can show this to a friend, you can show this to
your grandparents, you can show this to your kids and be so
proud of your work done, how you made this book all by yourself for
your special care. So I'm going to
also include one of my little cat pictures
somewhere on this page. I think I'm going
to choose this one. So if you download the file, again, you'll have the
same ones as I do. You can choose whichever
catch you want. I like this one.
He's kind of has a little questioning,
curious look. Again, cutting it out
like little sticker. So then you can play around and decide where you would die kids. Depending on your photo, how much information
you have to include, how much you want to include, and anything else you
want to put on your page. So I'm just going to go
ahead and glue that. And for the rest of my page, I'm going to add some
fun little doodles, maybe some flowers,
because again, this is a little curly cat. I could probably add
flowers to all my pages. I think it's just fun to add
little doodles everywhere. Whether it's related to
cats or not, it's okay. You just have fun. You just draw whatever
you feel like. Whatever could give your page a little bit more
beauty and fun. So I'm just thinking of summer, my cat, let's do it. Stay outside around nature. To add some circles to me, this looks very playful. Alright? And of course you can add your specific information
for your cat. I'm going to add
them for my cat, her eyes are blue. Her for is y and bij. I need to check on the
date she arrived to her home because that
I'm not a 100% sure, but I remember it was
around Christmas time. Her birthday is October six. I need to verify the date with my kids and her breed angora. Again, you can add some
more doodles on your photo. I'm going to add
another ball of yarn. Set something that cats
love to play with.
11. Cut out Letter Tittles: So to finish our page, I want to include information
but in big letters. So what I could do is either
cut a piece of my paper here and write information. Or if you prefer to, you could cut out some
letters from a magazine. So I have an old magazine
here that I'm going to look for some
letters, for some words. So you decide on the
size that you want. I find here already a few. I could use. I would like it at
least the size. I'm going to spell out
the words information. So I haven't I and f and our n. I'm just taking
the letters that I need and then I'll
put them in place. I think it's fun to make
some letters, some fonts, different types of
lettering and font, but you do with what you have. And then I'll look for the
other letters that I need. I like these because they
are again a different font. For me Shun, I could use the, oh, I think it's really fun
to mix different art mediums. I loved the fact
that doing your own, you can include anything,
everything you want. Here's another, oh, and I looking for an AI if there is any different
fonts I could use. In a magazine like this, I might not find too
many to many ones. But at least you
could see if there's a different background so that you can see a
different color. So here I've found one with
the yellow background. Just for some variety, might switch up the ODE. Let's try this one here. I like it when there's
different levels. And I might change
the R for this one. Let's see if I have different letter I can
use so that there's not three in a row that are
the same. Here's a nice. So you decide if
you want to rather write your word
or to cut it out. I think I'm going to
use this a as well for variety so that I mix
in a different font. And I barely have space, but see if it works. So I'll put away my magazine. Next time. I will think of adding my title before I
put everything down. I find that it's nice and
quick to add the glue, my paper one or two
letters at a time. And then I can glue
my TV cat back down. And I don't like my
letters to straight eater, but you do what you want. I would like to make
them go little zigzag. Here, I'll add for
the last two letters. So now, not only do you
have your little title, but you also have
a little bit of additional color,
which is great fun. Let's move on to the next page.
12. Painting: Before I continue on with
more from our journal, I thought of giving all my little picture's a bit of color. It's easier to do
it all in one go. So I got my paints and my
paint brush with some water. I'm just adding a
little water to each of my colors that I want to use. I printed it onto a
thicker paper so that it absorbs the paint
a little bit better. I'm going to start
by ginger cat. So you can use the watercolors or you can
use your color pencils. And just have fun adding a
little touch of color to all your kitty cats away gives them time to dry before
you need to cut them out. I find that helpful. I'm using the same
colors that I want. I'm gonna make this one look
a little bit like my cat, so I'm just going to
add a little bit shaky. Most of her will be white. I think it's fun to add variety, even if it's not the
same color as your cat, you can just have fun. This is not a great paintbrush, little bit thick, but I like it because it has water in it. So as you saw how to add a little color
and shading to your cat, would be the same
techniques you would use, whether it's painting, whether it's marker or color pencils. So if you need some help for
knowing what cat colors, you can always also find some photographs for
some cat colors. If you're not sure. Or just stick with drawing
the colors of your own cat. Cats can really be all
colors, mix of colors. There's so much variety. Towards the end of
your paintbrush when it gets a little dry, I like to use you said for
when I want my white cat, I just use it to
make some shadings, not for full color. First, I'm just giving
the cat at general color. Then I can always add a
little bit of shaking after, except if you want
your cat or white. I'm just using the color
to add the shading. It's hard when you're a
paintbrush is in very thin, but you'll see it kind
of gives the look of fluff and fors, so cute. Not having to go for
perfection here. You're afraid to make a
mistake and just go with some little strokes like this. Once it's a little dry, you can add in a
little bit of shading. And it's okay if you go out of the lines because you
can cut that out. To make this like
a little gray cat. Again, just a little
bit of color like this can change your page. So it's one I might make it all not so into the color of it. It's a bit messy. But my ginger cat, I can always add a
darker color if I want. For the shadings. And the little pattern. Looks like it has a
little bit weird. So have fun play around. You're really kidding. I'm going to take some red and just add little pink cheeks. I want some pink cheeks. Since I have a
little gritty cat. Even if you don't, it's cute. Want to make the little nose, the ears a little bit. I think it saves a lot
of time when you can do all the colors in one go. Saves you time having to get
to all your paints ready. You just get to take it all
out and use it in one go. So we had a little
bit of practice using paints and a little bit of practice using color
pencils at the beginning. So as you can see it very much so the same techniques
of coloring, just a little bit of color, a little bit of shading. And then you can also fill
out some of the details. So I might make my car red. It's a little bit of shading
to my book center there. You can add a little
pattern to your bed.
13. Shading: And if you wanted to add a little bit more
color or more shading, go ahead and use
your color pencils. And here's where you can go over again as we learn together. The parts behind or depending on where your light source is
coming from on your page. Or if you wanted to add some
little patterns to your cat, you could go ahead and do
it with color pencils. I find that paint and colored pencils work
really nicely together. I like painting with the watercolor and then adding
a little bit of shading with the pencils because it has a different
texture to it. Kind of a fun texture. So play around and
experiment with that. And what you find works best for you and what
you enjoy as well. And of course what
you have available. And on hand, I think
any material can work. So if you're getting to this course right away or if you want to get
to it right away, then use which you do have. Because if you wait for all
the materials that you need, you might not get to it. So that's what I've
learned to just cope and experiment with the
materials I do have. You can make anything work. And that's what's the
wonderful thing about art. That's how you can
practice your creativity, figuring out how to
best do it for you. So as you can see, even
just a little bit of shading like this
really adds to it. Just gives the picture a
little bit more contrast, a little bit of texture, a little more fullness to it. And I find that the
color pencils on top of the paint
has a really nice, it gives leaves a really
nice texture as well. So once you do one cat, it's quite easy to
continue on with all the others
because you follow the same shading techniques. You know how to do it for one, then you can do it
for all of them, which is the wonderful
thing about these courses. Now you will have had great practice drawing
and coloring cats. You can probably do them
yourself from now on. Not just create your
own capture and all, you can create little
cards with kittens, little gifts,
personalized gifts, poster of your kitten that you can put into a
little picture frame. So if you're a cat
lover like me, then you'll find loads of
uses for drawing cats. By adding a little kitty
cat and some other object. You have a little gift, personalized gift to someone, someone you know,
who loves cats. It's their birthday or you want to make a
welcome sign for them or happy Mother's
Day, Father's Day card. Even a congratulations
or get better soon card. I'd be a little harder
to draw a real person. But just drawing a little cat is can be meaningful
and fun for anybody. You can't go wrong by
drawing a little cat. So I think I've added a little shading to
each of my cats. Almost done the little
color to the watch. So if it's easier,
you can just use color pencils might
make less of a mess. Then you can always
smudge a little bit the pencil to add
little patterns. So if you've left out anything
with the watercolors, you can always fix it up or
add to it with your pencils. I didn't have all the colors
I needed in the paint, so I can always include
it. Pencil as well. And there we have our
little colored kitty cats that were ready to use for
the rest of our journal book. See you in the next class. No.
14. Family Tree: So on to our next page, we're going to do
our family tree. So if you have your
little notebook, you will see that you
have to picture frames. And now I'm going to try to match them and add a few more. So first I'm going to
take my pencil just to draw a rough shape to make
sure I have enough space. So this is for the
kitty cats, dad, a mom, and my cat. I'll put here in the middle. So you draw how many you need. I'm going to draw Mimi. It is my cat's name. Her brother and sister
or sister and brother. And she will be in the middle. So there's enough space to add plenty more if your cat has
more brothers and sisters, but mine just has two. And then you can draw
a cute little tree, might make it with some roots. Something like
that. So I like to add either a little
bit of brown paper to my picture or some letters
from that for my title. So I will decide if I want to go like maybe with
a brown tree trunk. I think we'll do that. I'm
just going to size it. Draw a rough here. I can always trim it afterwards. You have your old
book or old magazine, then just draw a
rough tree trunk with little roots like so. To make it fun and artsy. And then I'm going to look
for one of my kidneys. So I've already chosen some that I want to use
for each page. I'm going to go with this
one for my family tree. And I might put
them right on top here of his little
picture frame. This I can cut a little smaller. And let's write
together our title. So you do what you want. I like variety. Sometimes I glue letters, sometimes I like to write them myself and add in my
own colors afterwards. So because we've glued this one, I'm going to write
this one down. So I'm going to write my cats. I'm just doing a rough
with the pencil first. And here, family tree,
something like that. Then I can trace
over it with my pen. I'm just using a
normal font and then adding little
strokes at the end. I might make this
one bubble letters. For some variety. You do what you're able to. I think Kat's family
tree is a special page. It's a souvenir. Maybe your cat won't realize it. Well, definitely
won't realize it. But it brings special
memories, I think for you, especially if you know any of the family
members of your cat. And I'm going to draw some
rough leaves for the tree. So sometimes I'll
make the leaves, sometimes I'll
just do the shape. So you can either
do it like this, just with your hand or you
can use a ruler if you prefer and make it a
little bit straighter. I don't I don't mind
the hand-drawn look, but to match these ones, I'm going to use my ruler because I know that that will make
it much straighter. And this one I might make a square for
something different. So I'll make it a little
shorter and wider. You can make it a little
different if you wanted to, since it's a different
shape anyways, I'm going to add a third line. So be as fancy as you want
or as simple as you want. Here I'm going to do is
little sister in a circle, her little sister, sorry. It's not a perfect circle. And then I can continue to grow. My tree. Here, I can
add some leaves. I'm going to cut
out what I drew on my leaves just so
something like that. It's not perfect.
Again, that's okay. We're just having fun here. Not just the final
results that we're after, we are after the process. I think that's the wonderful
thing about this project. This will take a little bit
of time to get through. It's a big project. It's not just gonna
be done in one, go in one class. But you'll have an amazing
thing to go back to. You'll have a whole
book of memories and souvenirs of your cat. So this is something
to look forward to. It though it takes
a little effort to take some perseverance, takes some time and energy. Of course, we're having
fun along the way. That's why to me it's
important to have fun. If it's not fun, What's the use of it, right? Alright, my little
kitten is here. I think we're ready to glue. So if you don't have pictures of each of this of the cats, family members, then feel
free to draw them yourself. Now you know how to
draw a kitty cat. I'm going to go through my
photos and see if I have one for the different
members of her family. So this is her mom
for sure. I know. Might just need to
trim it a little bit. I don't know if I have
her brother and sister. This is her sister or
brother and this is her There's her dad. So I do have almost all of them just besides her
oh, here she is. So there we have
her whole family. I was able to find
photos of all of them. So I'm going to just trim
them to the size that I need to have a
little circle photo, but I'm going to
just trim it into a little oval much as I can. And her dad and mom, I will trim a
little bit as well. So they fit into
the frame nicely. So that's something to look into before you print
out your photos. If you have this book, then you might want to
check that out first, the spacing that you have. So we're ready to clear down
our little family tree. I think it's just
so cute to have all this information in
one page and one book. Something wonderful
to go back to if you're creating this
for your family, for your kids, maybe you're
doing this with your kids. I think it's a super fun project to do together as
a family as well. We get to choose the
photos together. You get to remanence on special moments of your
cats live together. So it's really special time
and also a very crude time. So I'm going to add a few more lines and
doodles on my paper. You can follow along or you
can make some of your own. These are little frames. You can even add some little de corps if
you have space-like me. My grandmother,
bouncy frames here. You can add some little
leaves falling from the tree, pour around the tree. Pile of flowers around
the tree trunk. So we're done all our doodles. Be sure to add whatever
colors you want to this page.
15. Cat's Arrival: So in this class of our journal, we're going to work
on our page, arrival. So you can take your
page that says arrival, page 11 in your little notebook, or you can just take your
regular notebook and draw a little box like this on the side of the
bottom part of the page. And if you have your printout
with all your kitty cats, you can go ahead and
cut this one out. So thinking and
remembering about the arrival date is
really loads of fun. There's probably so many
emotions, excitement, joy, curiosity, all types of feelings that you might
want to relive or remember. Or maybe from your kids are from you or further from the
person who gave it to you. Maybe you got it from a pet
store or from a friend. So I think there's loads
involved in the arrival story. So you can get your pencil and your pen and we're going
to doodle this together. I'm going to start
with my little title. You can either just write with bold letters, arrival story. I'm going to see if I can
find some letters to cut out. So my last page was written. So this time I'd like
to include a cutout. Here on this page. I find that big a, which is a fun one
to start with, since it's the first
letter of my title. And then the others, I can
always do a smaller font. Going to use this r over here. This. So I have a couple in this font and then I'm going to look if there's another type
of font or lettering, or maybe a different color. I'm sure you have some
magazines at home. Even if it's just some
sharp advertisements, you'll always be able
to find some letters. I also have a tray where I keep letters from other magazines
that I've cut out. So maybe I'll find the
letters I need here. I need a V and I. So it's practical to just
keep some lectures like this. So when I use them
for my journal, I can easily find them. Here. I have my eye and
I just need a vignette. So I have my title
ready up here. And I'm going to add
this little car. And with my pencil, I'm just going to draw
a little box where I can include some text as if it were a
little writing paper. And then I just trace
it over with my pen. So I'm even going to give
it a little paper look. The little flap there. I erased the pencil lines. So the reason I've
included this page is think there's so many, like I said before, there's so many emotions
to this special day. Maybe you've been
waiting for a long time. You knew that it was
going to come and it finally happened after so much waiting, so
much excitement. So when I knew I was
going to get my cat, it took a couple of
months because she wasn't old enough to
leave her mom yet. So it was really
an exciting day. I'll write the arrival story. The little appear. So this makes it
really official, like a little storybook. And I'm going to glue that
down for it messes up. You can put your glue on your
lecture or on the paper, whatever you find easier. And then I'll do my
little cat down as well. I think it's cute in
the corner over here. They arrival story. As you write your story, give it some suspends, give it some excitement. Give it a little bit of fun. And I think the sooner that
you can write your story, the better you'll remember it. Because there's sometimes
those fun details that are easy to forget. So I encourage you to do
this as soon as possible. Maybe you've written a
few things down already, so get your notes and
put it all together into a fun little story format if
you wanted a little idea. So fun way to start a story
would be once upon a time. Let you continue with that. And if you have a photo
of the arrival date, maybe whether she was with
her mom leaving her mom, whether she whether you have a photo of her at
your house at home. So this would be the place
to add a fun little photo. I don't have one at the moment, but I'm probably going to
look for one later on. I'm going to use a little
bit of scrap paper because I would like to add
little touch of brown. I'm not sure what
these words say. They're in German, but I think
I'm going to add them as little pieces of tape to
bring in some of that color. I find that tiny little
details like that can add a little
pizzazz to your page. Nothing too complicated. I'm working with what I have. I have one magazine
and one old book. And if you don't
have this at all, you could also use some tape, colorful tape or masking tape, or even just a piece of
colored Pinker would work. And you can add whatever
other details you want. I might add a little
wheel to my page. Maybe a bigger one here. So whatever else
you can think of, I add a little bit
of nature again. If you wanted to. It helps to add some lines
to write your story in so that you're sure that your story is nice and
straight and readable. And this makes it look like
a little letter writing pad. You can also just
add some information to certain details
of the arrival day. So if you don't feel like you're able to write a whole story, just write some fun. Little tidbits are memories
that you have this day. You can ask yourself, What were you feeling
at the moment? What do you think your cat
was feeling at the moment? You could make it like a little interview
if you preferred. Once upon a time that it did, or you could write the way I
saw it and experienced it. And further down the way my cat saw it and
experienced it. Just for a little fun. You decide how you want to fill the rest of this
page with your text. I'll see you in the next class. We will get to explore some of your cat's favorite
things. See you there.
16. Favorite Things: Hello and welcome again
to another class for creating the cutest
ever kept a journal. So this time we're going
to open our page to number 13 and we're going to delve into some of our
cat's favorite things. If you have your little booklet, you can come and join me. And if not, then feel free
to draw a little shape like this with your
pen in your notebook. So I'm going to use this little
shape here for my title. I'm going to start with
my pencil to just sketch out the letters so I make sure that they
fit in just right. This time, I'm going
to write it with pen. You can write favorite
things or you can write my cat's favorite things that
we personalize it a bit. My cats. I like to mix in
different lettering as well. And if you want to add a
little bit more to it, you can add a little
line and color it in to help it stand
out even more. This is the fun thing about
this project is we get to create each page and a
very different unique way. Because each page is something
different about our cat. Here I'm going to add
double line to one side of the letters and some little
strokes to the ends. My cat's favorite things. And I'm going to choose one of these cat pictures as well. So I'm going to
cut out this one. I think this is acute pose because there's a lot of
things you can do with it. So I might place it here and I think I'm going to make him
hold some little balloons. You can add as many or as
few balloons as you want. And I have my brown paper again, so I think I'm going to add a few balloons that
color as well. Maybe one more. So you see how many
you can think of? I'm going to already glued down my cat so that he
doesn't fly away. And sees as well. I'm going to use my pen to
just trace around brown ones. So it shouldn't be too difficult to think of your cat's
favorite things. Unless you've just
gotten your cat. I think by now you've probably noticed some of those things. If you wanted a little bit
of help to dig those out, you could think of a
few topics or scenes. Here. I'm just going
to add a little knot, a little tie of the balloons. Here. When I draw all the little
strings coming out, you can fill your page with
as many balloons as you want. I'm going to just
erase my pencil. You can, of course, include some other photos of
your kitty cats on any page that you wish would
be a cute little souvenir. You can use as many
photos as you want. I don't think you can
ever use too many. So if you wanted
a few ideas here, I would list her
favorite activity. It's not very clear
on this paper. Here I'm going to include
game or favorite gain. You might want to write
with a thicker marker. These balloons, her
favorite room in the house. Maybe where does she
spend most of her time? Her favorite food, favorite outing that she's been
on, favorite drink. These are just some fun things to remember about your kidney. And it could be
helpful if you ever have to pass on your
kit to somebody else or maybe you
have to leave them for the time that
you're on vacation. This would be a great book
to pass on to your neighbor, to your friend who
looks after your cat. Her favorite place to sleep, her favorite person,
her favorite nap time. Some of these might
be easy to answer and some of these might
be more difficult. But I think they're all fun. Maybe your cat has
a favorite song, maybe they have a
favorite plants. They like to nibble on. Maybe they have a favorite toy. The toy would be a
good one to add. So you see how much space
you have on your paper. I'm filling mine
to the brim here. Although it could
also go with game. Game could be like maybe
she likes pulling strings. She likes playing catch, hide and seek, toys, more like an object. Activity could be like she
liked just hanging out. It's her favorite activity. Mealtime is her favorite
activities, sleeping. You can kind of ask herself, what does she do? The millstone. Again, you can add
some fun doodles. I'm going to include
again some cute daisies. Daisies made me feel joyful. And this page makes
me feel joyful. Who doesn't like to list
their favorite things. And I'm adding some
little circles again. There we have my cat's
favorite things. And you can always add a
little touch of color. Paints are little
touch of other pencil. I might just include a little
yellow for my flowers. So do what you want
with each page. Sometimes you can just
leave them black and white. Sometimes you can add color. Sometimes you can do
lots of photos and pictures and that brings
out the color as well. You just want to make
it beautiful and inviting so that you'll want to look back on it. Later on. You can make little lines
or strokes are colored all in your eyes. Just tend to look on
the colorful things. So if you want to notice the title first
thing on this page, then you give it some color. Since there's lots
going on on our page, you add color to what you want your eyes or somebody
else's eyes to see first. I think that's a
fun little rule to remember when you're
working on a page. And challenge yourself by using too many colors
either I think it's, it's creative to try to explore using one or two
colors on your page. That way it's not
too overwhelming. Then you learn to
play around and find balance for your picture. So here we have our
favorite things page, so don't forget to fill
these out for your own cat. You can either use a
pencil or you can use your pen with a
different handwriting. Just to add a little
bit of contrast between your title and your answer.
17. Cat's Dislikes: Hi again. Here we are with our cutest
ever capture and all. And today we're going to
focus on our cats dislikes. So get your page
number 15 or take out your notebook and draw a
little banner like this, just two parallel lines. And it looks like a flag and a little rectangle like this, where here we're going
to place a photo. So here we're going to be thinking of what our
cat doesn't like. Our previous page was some of
our cat's favorite things. And it's also nice
to be aware of, to be sensitive to and to
know what our cat dislikes. That way we won't bother
the more tease them. So I'm going to pick out one of my little kitty pictures here. I have one that's
a little tearful. I'm going to use this one. So this would be a
time to question, what are those things
that my cat doesn't like? What do they feel bothered with? An even how do you know
that they don't like it? Do they scratch, do
they yell and cry?
18. Best Friends: Hello and welcome again to a class on the cutest
ever cat journal. Today we're working on
our page, best friends. So you can take your notebook, whichever one you have. You can either draw these shapes yourself or use the book
that I've provided. You can either print it
out yourself on paper. Oh, you can get it from Amazon
and get this exact one. So let's go back to our kitty cats and
find our best friends. So I'm going to choose
two cats this time. I didn't do it on purpose, but there were sort
of the same color. So I might change that. Make one little
bit more gingerly. This one will be very colorful. It sets them apart
a little bit more. I'm going to start
by cutting them out. I use these little cats
as the core piece. What's fun is using
real photographs. That's probably the
best it can do. But when I don't have a
photograph or even if I do, I still like to include
one of these on each page. Kind of brings the
whole book together. It makes it one style. And you also get to use the kitty cats that you
learned how to draw, whether from one of the first
classes in this course, whether you took
another course where we drew together seven
different cat poses. So feel free to go back to
that one if you want to challenge yourself and learn
to draw your own kitty cats. In this course, we're
just delving more into how to create
the cap drown. So I have these two, they might give each other a little hug or
something like that. And I'm going to go
to my photos and see if I have some nice
friendly ones. I have a couple. I have this one
with his friends, Teddy friends or this one. So I'm sure you can find
photos with the cats, your cat and a friend, or maybe even just a
teddy bear or something. Pretend that their friends. I'm going to just trim
it to the right size. Course it's a little bit small, but it's better to
small than to bake. I'm not sure where I
want to put my cats. I could put them
down here and up here I would like
to write a title. And this time we're going
to use our letter cutouts. And I'm going to
write best friends. I have a cute sticker page here. I might choose. From here. I'm going to go and find
all the letters that I did. So you can go through your collection of letters
if you've made one, or you can use a
magazine as we've done before in our
previous classes. So I'm going to glue it. I just bring these down
and I'm adding glue all along there since
they're quite squishy, seems to be the
easier way to do it. So as you do your pages, you kind of learn
different techniques. What works well, what works
quicker, more efficient. And I can always add, you want to personalize it? My cats, best friends. So you can ask yourself, Does she have a favorite pets? Does she have a little stuffy that she enjoys to play with or sleep with this when she was always after
this little cat. I think because one
time for photo, we put a little bit
of cream on top of the cat until this day she
goes and smells the cat. I don't know if
she remembers that it had cream on it once or she's looking for it or maybe
it's still stinky like it. So it's a funny little reminder. And this is what this
page is fun for. Well, we know it's more
for us than for cats. This book. But just like we enjoy
remembering our best friends, I think it's a fun thing to remind ourselves of our
cats, best friends. So thinking more about this
page and best friends, I realized that besides
stuffed animals, my cat doesn't really have
a best friend besides me and my kids were his family, were his best friends. Going to erase
some of my pencil? So I'm going to write
here and answer some questions related
to best friends. So instead of my
cats best friends, I'm thinking of changing
it to we're best friends. So to alter that, I'm going to take a piece of my brown paper from
my old notebook. I could either write it out. Instead. I'm going to add
a little extra color. So I'm measuring my paper
to the size that I need. And then I'm going to write, we are trying to
write it as large as possible since it's
a large piece of paper. And then I'm gluing it. Can always draw a black line outlining the paper if you like. And now we're ready to add a little bit more
text to our page. So we are best friends because I'm trying to think of some fun questions to answer
related to my cat and I. Another fun one would
be when I'm happy that you are just a few prompts that you can answer if you like, but you can of course, think
of your own questions. And I'll end with, I feel. So how does it make me feel that my cat and I are friends? So I liked answering
some of these questions because it not only makes
me think about friends, best friends, it
also makes me think about my relationship
with my cat. What makes a good friend? We are best friends because I'm going to add a
little pop print as a bullet. We spend time together. So that's something
that friends do. Another one I would write as she sits on my lap for a cuddle. And another one. She wants me there. While she eats. So little things
like that reminds me that like spending time with
me and that we're friends. We're friends when I think
it's somewhat selfish. Selfish or her, when
she wants to eat, then she's really
nice and cuddly with me and wants
some attention, gives me a kiss. I wonder why ulterior
motives than just friends, but I think it's a cute thing. I like being around her and
cuddling her when I'm cold. I think she likes it too. So I'm gonna write when we're
cold and need some warmth, we keep each other warm
when she wants to play. So I think the when
is really more for her besides the warm for me. So I coped by her schedule. She's the boss of
the house after all. I'm happy that so when she wants me there while
she eats or drinks, she doesn't actually drink
with anybody else but me. So you kinda makes me happy that even though it's
somewhat bothersome, I have to be there. But the fact that she
feels she's safe with me, I really like that. I'm also happy that every morning she comes and
she wants to cuddle. Sometimes even before
she thinks of her food. She wants to cuddle. And then she's happy. She helped me out
until I pick her up. I feel I think I feel honored. I feel loved, even
though I think it's more selfish love of hers, but I feel loved. I feel wanted because she's dependent on me for her
food and her drink. And when we cuddle
and stay warm, I feel cozy and warm. Anyway, those are a
few little ideas. And I'm going to add
a few little hearts. And if you wanted to add
a little bit more color, you could also add a brown heart with
your old book paper. Going to add a second
one, little bit smaller. Why have one when
you can have two, Lenhart will be for me and
when heart will be for my cat. So the rest, you can
decide how you want to color it or fill it up. And I'll see you
in the next class.
19. Things You do Together: Hello and welcome to another class of the
cutest ever kept journal. Today, we're working
on the page, things we do together. Do you and your cat
enjoy doing together? This is a fun question
to ask yourself so you can get your supplies
and let's get started. If you have your
little kitty cat page. Because we use two in
our previous page, there wasn't actually enough, so we're going to have to
draw one for this page. I think I'm going to sketch
one right here in the middle. And you can sketch
with me if you like. Now you know how to draw your kidneys using
your basic shapes. Now I'm going to ink it so
you can join me with yours. I'm doing a little
pose like this because I want him to be
hanging on a little string. And I add some little pattern. I end with some whiskers. I can erase my line. And I'm just going to add a little bit of
color to this one. This time I'm not getting
out all my paints. I did that last time, so I'll just give
a little bit of color pencil makes
less of a mess, but you do what you like. And now we can cut out our little kitten just
as we did the others. So if you use these
little cut-out cats, you'll notice that
there's actually just enough for one per page. So if you wanted more, you can go ahead and print
it out a second time. Or you could practice your
art and do different ones, different poses or doubles at the same pose if you wanted. So now I'm going to
do a little sketch of what I want my page to have. I want to design my page. I find that I really like having a general design and look
before I get started, I'm thinking this page to have
a little string of hearts. Things we do together, gets a little friendly time. And here I'm going to write
out my text this time. I'm thinking for the brown part, I'm going to add a little
corner piece right here. And then it'll be fun to
have a little old fashioned. Again to bring out the same style for the
whole journal book, then you can think
of what else do you want to add to your page two, and add more
decorations or toys. I could add a little
ball of yarn. Second one. Cute thing to add would be
a little speech bubble. So if your cat could talk, what do you think he would be saying as you do
things together? So his real language would be meow and what would
that translate to you? Maybe let's do it
again, or great fun. Whatever you can think of. And then you can decide what
kind of bullets you wanted. Either a little circles
or you could do. It'll pop prints again for all those things
that you do together. Alright, now that we've
sketched our page, we're ready to put into it. And as you're inking, don't worry if there's
something you want to change. Sometimes I get some more
ideas as I do the inking. So let that be okay. It's your book after all, you get to decide what
you want to put into it. And your cat will be happy
for whatever you decide. I'm going to add little lines
at the end for my text, adding a little style to it. I'm going to glue my cat down so that it doesn't fly
away on the string. Actually that way I know
exactly where to draw my lines. They will be safer that way. So here he's holding
onto the string. You can decide
what part you want on top of your cat
with part underneath. I'm doing a little mix of
hearts and circles here. And I'm going to
bring it all the way down to the end of the page, going to outline my
little speech bubble. And since it double one, I'm just going to
add it like that. You can already add
in the TextView, include whatever
text you would like. Think about one of those
things you do together. And then what's your
cat might say about it? Maybe he would say, pause. For awesome. You can think of a
cute little word from your tap blend here. I'm going to draw my
little balls of yarn. So there are different
ways to do it. I'm just kind of
dividing it into three portions
like that and each time making my lines going
in different directions. So 123, this one will be
going this way, this way. And this one. And I like to give
them some curls. And depending on how many
things you want to include, how many little pop
prints you can make. One each time I'm going
to make them facing a different direction
down my brown paper. So again, feel
free to switch out the brown paper with maybe
some colored paper you have or a paper with a nice pattern or a magazine
picture or photograph. And then I'm going to erase all the lines to have
a nice clean page. What I love about
this project is that you don't need too
many supplies at all. You have your
pencil or your pen, your printout, or your notebook, and you're ready to go, everything else you're
creating yourself, besides an extra little paper
That's really optional. So look how quickly you made it. You made this beautiful page. Now, all you have left
to do is fill it up. Things we do together. I'm going to write a few
and the rest I'll leave to your imagination
because I'm sure that you do different
things with your cat. So we even work together. I work at my desk and
she works on my desk. She always likes to sit on
top of my books and papers. He's there to inspire me, encouraged me, and
keep me company. And I'm going to
include communicate. Even though we have very
different kind of communication. I talk and she listens, or shippers or she meows. But I can tell her
how I'm feeling, what I'm feeling and she
just seems to listen. I'm sure she doesn't understand, but sometimes it's nice to
get some of your feelings, emotions out, and know
that somebody's listening. I call her a good listener. Anyway, those are a few of
the things we do together. She used to be very playful
with as she's getting older, she's and it'll calmer. She's a little less playful, but that's okay because
we do things together, which I enjoy as well. Alright, I'll leave you
here with this page to continue to decorate and
fill up as you wish.
20. Your Cat Funnies: Welcome to the next class of creating the cutest
ever catch or null. Today, we're going
to work on our page. Funny's. So things that your cat
does that are funny. That make you laugh, that make you happy. What are those things? I think it's really
fun to put them into words and put them
into pictures. Which is the great thing about this journal that
we're making together. So let's get started. If you take your kitty
cats from your page, they are dwindling down because
we're using them all up. This one is you're laughing cat. So I think this one is quite
appropriate for this page. I'm going to start
by cutting mine out. That way it gives me an idea
of how to design my page. There are loads
of possibilities. I love starting with
almost a blank page because you can put
it wherever you want. So this one, it could be
loads of different options. I think I'm going to write
here my kitty cats name. And then here, funny's. So I can already sketch that. Mimi. And I'm going to write in
bold letters this time.
21. Cat's Best Moments: Hello again, cat friends. Welcome to the cutest
ever catch journal. So let's do our next page, which is best moments. You will already
have a few shapes drawn if you have this book
or if you have the printout. And if not, get your
notebook and you can draw three different shapes. And today we're
going to be thinking about our best moments
together with our cats. So you can get your page of
kitties and you can choose one of these or whatever I'm going to do is draw
my own this time. So if you want, you
can come and join me as I just doodle on my book. So you will need your pencil. I have these three shapes
for adding some photos, but I think it's
fun to also include a little doodle on each page. So as with previous pages, we've either drawn some boxes and places to journal and write. Oh, we've drawn a
little few doodles. This time we're going to
draw a little bit more. We're going to draw
a simple camera. So just start by making
your sketch with a rectangle and then a
big circle in the middle. For the lens. Here, I'm going to
make a little shape, almost like a rectangle
for the flash. So this is really a simple
way to draw a camera. I'm not going to draw every
correct button on the camera. I'm going to make a
little design like this, kind of like an
old-fashioned one. Another little screen there. I think I might even draw
my cat holding it up. So he's kind of half
in the back and he's going to be holding up
with his little pause. So we'll just see his
little eyes poking out and his little nose and the
whiskers, of course. The little body. Either he can be sitting on the
little frame there. I might do that and
make his Little Tummy, so something like that. So I might make my tail down here so it doesn't
cover up the box. And I'm going to add some
of this brown paper again. This time, I think
I'm going to make one more shape over here. I'm going to make a different
shape just for variety. I already have a square, a rectangle, and a circle. I'm adding it, gone to
bring in some of the brown. And I think here I'm going
to add some cut-out letters, at least for part of the title. So i'm I need to be I'm going
to spell out best moments. And if you don't have space, I'm not sure if I'll
have space for both. I'm just going to
spell out best and then I'll write out moments. Of course, depending on
how big your letters are. Include both if you want it to. I think I'm going to include my cat's name on the top here. That way it really
personal biases it. So I'm going to write
me my best moments. Again, just playing
around with lettering, you decide what you want. You can also just
make it very simple. For me means best moments. I'm just going to write
moments very clean and simple, since there's so much
going on already. Here, I'm going to
add some photos. So either I'll look through the photos that already have or if you don't have
any photos or if you can think of some best moments, then something fun to
do would just be to spend a day with your
phone or your camera. And just look out for
all those moments. Just have it ready, have it handy to go, click on all those fun things, those cute things that she does. So I'm going to start
by gluing things down to keep them in place. I like adding a
variety of shapes and a variety of types of letters. You know that by now and they
can go in all directions. All right, I'm
going to ink name. So in this cat journal we're
getting practice writing, expressing emotions and feelings and fun things,
asking questions. We're learning to write
and doodle and draw. So that's what makes
this project really fun. You'll have some amazing book
to look back on afterwards. Here we get to draw
the little paw prints is Little Tummy. So feel free to use
a ruler if you want. If you want to make
a perfect circle, you can also find a lid of a glue or a little something to make a better circle than me. But since doodles or just
hand-drawn, I don't mind. If it's not perfect. We can do a little
light flashing. You can draw some little
portal road photos for some extra doodles
and color them in. Basically just
scribbling them in. I might add some little
flowers to this page. Best moments you think
about what makes you happy. Flowers makes anything pretty. Just putting them anywhere, everywhere, all over the place. I like them going in one side
of the page. To the other. Add some to the caps name. Going to add an outline
for this brown one. So that stand out a bit more
and there's more contrast. I might even add a second line. And if you have a photo, you can also cut it to
this shape if you want it. Going to erase the
lines, the pencil. I noticed that I forgot
the whiskers in pen. Sometimes that helps. When you erase
your pencil lines, you notice what you forgot. And I'm going to also
Blackout this part. It's usually dark. I add a little, these little lines
here for reflection. Good color this in
with a marker if you want it to go a little faster. Now, let's look through our photos for some of
those best moments. Here's a cute one. I think she's cute
here with the books. I'm just going to trim them
a little bit for size two, I take them and use my pencil and then I
know where to cut. This is where you can also get a little lid and
measure a circle shape. This is one of the best
moments because it's one of her very first moments. She was still with her mom and this photo made us
fall in love with her. So I definitely consider
that as the best moment. So think about something
that's special for you. This is a cute moment because
it reminds me of when she comes and sits on all my
books while I'm working. So I'm going to trim it a bit to this is when she was
so little and so playful. Now I can glue them. So another reason I add photos at this time
before I add in some color because I get my color scheme for my
page from the photos. So that's a little trick
to remember if that helps. If, especially if you don't
know what colors to add, then add in some photos. I can see that there's
sort of a theme here. It's kinda blue and gray. You could add some
fun little patterns. I might make a
little polka dots on my camera if you don't want
to color the whole thing. And I'm going to
add a little bit of shading to the middle
of my flowers. When you add a little
bit of blue like this, it makes the white
stand out even more. I'm just making
little strokes from the center to the sides,
all different sizes. Then maybe I'll
color in my camera. Since there's a little
bit of pink as well, I'm going to just a
little touch of pink. And for her name, I'm just going to trace out
the letters in the middle. I still have placed
for one photo. And of course, feel
free to add in more doodles if you
like. Bye for now.
22. Cute Photos: Hello again, cat friends. Welcome to another class of
the cutest ever cat journal. Today we're going to work
through the page, cute photos. So as you'll notice in the
download or in the book, you'll find a few pages that have room and spaces for photos. And the reason for that is, I think photos says everything. Photos brings so much joy and memories and
special souvenirs. So this is part of what's
fun having a journal is to just fill it with loads of photos and pictures of your cat. So I'm going to
start by doodling a few little pictures and
declarations for our page. I have an oval shape
and a rectangle shapes. If you don't have this
book or the download, then feel free to draw your own shapes that
you would like. Then I'm going to maybe
doodles some branches, a plant, I'm just
following the oval, drawing, some little leaves all going in the same direction, along with some berries. So I'm just kind of alternating little leaves with
a rounded end. And then a little Barry
says just one idea, of course, you do as you wish. Here. I'm going to start
in the other direction. I might like double berries, double leaves, and
then single ones. Then you can of course, choose and decide on the photos that you want
to include in here. It can be on a specific
topic or theme. You get to decide that
I have one photo here, and I'm just showing you with some photos as I didn't
print that many out. And I just want to cut it to the right size to make
it even on all sides. And for some extra color, you know how I like
to include some of the brown paper from
our previous classes. So for this time, I'm thinking
I'm going to add some brown to this picture as if it were its own
little picture frame. But feel free to use this
frame if you prefer. End to add brown paper
or colored paper, pattern paper somewhere
else instead, I've also cut in advance
some letters for my title, as well as my kitty cat from my download page and that
we painted together. So now is when you can
decide where to put it. I have my title. I
think I'm going to call it my cat's name. Mimi is photos are
minis, cuties. You can give it a name or if you wanted on a specific topic, maybe minis, toys
are minis games. You play round, you
can try it out to see what layout which
suits you best. Then I'm going to start
out by gluing back down. This way. It gives
me a clear idea what space I have
left to work with. So I might add a little S here. For the title this part. I'm just going to
use cursive writing. I can also blew my brown
frame that I ripped out. Sometimes I like to have the ripped look
sometimes the street look tall place there. And then you have space to
include your other photo. Now, I can finish writing and
finish my doodles with pen. So with each class I
think you get more and more used to the technique, how I like to work. I've shared with you
lots of tips and ideas and tricks for your text, for your content, for you, the layout of your page. There's no right or wrong
way to do it because you really have to check in
and see what makes you happy. I like silly, got my pages, including doodles to make
it fun and memorable. But when it comes down to it, you decide what you want to add in each class from now on, I'll probably go
with it so quicker since you've already gotten the hang of how to create these. And I'll just share with
you some of my ideas. Maybe how I've
laid out the page, what I've included on my page. And then you play around and
do it just how you'd like. You can follow along or you
can create your own ideas. Makes it look a little wooden, old rustic picture frame. And I like adding palm
prints everywhere I can. It's like the little
cat signature mark. I think it's cute. Something else to
add to my page. And I think I'd like
to add a little quote, but I haven't done much of
that in my previous pages, but I think it's fun as well. If I have a little extra space, I can either doodle or I
can add a little text. I like this quote that
I found on internet, since cats never strike a
pose that isn't photogenic. I thought that was cute and applicable to this
page on photos. That's a quote from
Lydian Jackson Browne. And then I'm going to add
some fun lettering to it. I like to do a little mix. And I end my page with erasing
all the pencil strokes. And my last little thing is to add some color so
you can check out your photo or your lectures and bringing some of
those colors again, I have a little read
from the letters, so I'm going to add
that red to my berries. Somewhere else on my page. This photo, as I mentioned
in a previous class, she loved to finish out the little leftover drops
from my monks or tea cups. And my daughter would, he'd love to have tea parties with her. So that's a happy souvenir. I have a little green or blue. So I could use those
colors and bring them in. Again. Either just one of
them or both of them. Coloring them random. So this will be a
very colorful page, taking the colors from the
photo and adding them around. And that was it. Our acuity cats photo page.
23. Your Cat's Behavior: Hello again, Welcome to another
class on our cat journal. Today we're working
on the page behavior. So this is a fun one. I'm sure you have loads to think about when it comes to
your cat's behavior. Either fun things, she does, the times that she's so obedient and you teach
her little tray eggs, or maybe the times when she's naughty and plays
knotty tricks on you. So how is she behaving to you? This is a fanpage
to think about. As with the other pages, I've decided whether
I will write my text or find some letters. And this time, since I
have a lot of space, I'm going to go ahead and
choose some letters to spell out a word that
I want for this page. So instead of calling
it behavior or naughties or I'm just
going to title it. Oops, see, or group sees
like little mistakes. It's not intentional that my cat doesn't already things or maybe it is, I don't know. So here are my letters
to spell out the word. Oops, see, because even
though she's an artist, sometimes I forgive her. She's so cute and so darling. Our cats, I know with my cat, I get a bit frustrated
when she meows all the time and I don't
understand her all the time. I've cut out my cat as well, so I get to decide where
I want to place her, I think appears with her title. So I'm just trying
to get the look for my page since I have the
big square in the middle, here's where I'm
going to write down and journal or doodle, It's really up to you
what you want to do. You can either draw
the little thing she does or you can write them down. And here I have a little
bit more space I might add. I've also included
some brown paper that I've also cut
out in advance. And I'm going to make them use them as if they were a
little piece of tape. I could put them this way or
I could just put them like this as if they were keeping
my little frame and place. And I think the rest
I'm going to doodle. So once again, I'm
going to glue them already so that
they stay in place. Maybe I'm going to
do something in her hand thinking to doodle, this is not something
that she does, but I thought it was cute
little mug in her hand. And sometimes she
makes a mess with all her food or she
spills her water. So I'm going to include a little spill or
a little puddle. So if this frame
is bothering you, you can either draw
your little sketch or doodle onto another
piece of paper, or you could write it
out or use paint on top. So you have a few
options to work with. A little scrap of paper like this always comes
in handy for me. And here I can just doodle. Something funny about cats is, I think often they don't even think they're doing
something wrong. They're just like,
Oh, they act all innocent as if nothing
even happened. I know if my cat, when she does something naughty, She's scratches the wall
or she just ignores me. I looked at her. I talked to her as like, Mimi, what did you do? And she just either it looks
at me and closes her eyes. He doesn't want to listen. She knows she did something
wrong, did something naughty. Such a rascal cats really
have a funny personality. So I think if they
weren't so cute, it would be much easier
to get upset at them. So instead I end up laughing or that we've taught
her cats pretty well. She's a good cat
most of the time. She has her a few
little naughty moments and think like every cat, something fun to include
on this page too, would be anything
that works for her you've trained her
in or that she learned to do maybe she was doing something
naughty and you trained her not to do it or
she was stubborn and didn't want to
do something and you trained her how to do it. So that's always a fun memory and it gives you
ideas for next time. It helps you remember
those happy times to the happy ending
to the story. And I have a little quote I
want to add here as well. So this quote says
if a cat spoke, it would say something like, Hey, I don't see
the problem here. Again, are acting all
innocent as if to say, Hey, I'm not doing
anything wrong here, this is my house. I set the rules here. I thought this one was also quite applicable to this page. There looks are there
just to tell you, I'm not the problem says
from Roy Blount junior. So it's not that you
want to remember your cats mistakes or
your cats bad behavior. But I think it just gives
a little bit of memory and maybe if they've passed
and moved on from that, it helps you appreciate, hey, they've grown up,
they've learned, I've taught them well. It's also just to be
aware of that and also to appreciate where your
cat has come from, where he's been there
young and playful. They do naughty things. Then we teach them and
they do naughty things. But that's okay. We all learn. We, that's part of life. That's what makes life exciting. We have new little
challenges with our cat. So I'm going to write a
few out that my cat does. I'm going to use maybe little droplets for
each of my bullet. These are just a few that
she does or that she's done somewhere not
intentionally naughty or bad. Some are just cute
and fun actually, but it's little
things that could be frustrating or bothersome
depending on my mood. So it's also good
to question myself. When do I get bothered
by these things? It's usually when I'm
not in a playful mood or I've had a long
day or I'm tired, and then other times
it's more playful or funny or it gives
me a good laugh. Like how she begs for food or spreads for all
over the house. That can be really
frustrating sometimes and other times it just makes
me think about her, like, Oh, she spreads her love all over for us to pick up. Alright, that's it for
this behavior page. And I'll see you next one.
24. Story Time: Hello and welcome to another class of our
kitty cat journal. Today we're working on
our page story time. So there's a few story
times in our journal, as you'll notice on
page 2937, 6347. So the reason being is
that I think you'll have many stories to write about
your cat, not just one. So think about it that you'll
have for if you want more, you can even print more out. That will give you already a
little idea of how you want to structure your story
or what topic with theme, whether it's something
related to her behavior, something she does,
something that you've done. And there's so many
things that you can include in the story, whether fun facts
or foreign objects. I've written out a list of a few questions
that may help you figure out what kind of story you would like to
write about your cat. For now, we're just going
to work on decorating it. I brought in my old book and
I ripped out some corners. I ripped out two corners just to give my
page a tetra brown. So I might do
something like this, and I've cut out the
kitten with the books. This one is applicable, suitable for this page and
I can decide where to place it here would be fun to add a little photo to go
along with your story. Or if you don't have
a specific photo, then you can just doodle a little picture
related to your story. And I'm going to include my
title somewhere on the page. I'm not sure if I want to put it on the top or the bottom. I'm going to write story time. So I've also cut
out my letters in advance since now you
know how to do that part. And you can either place
your title story time here, and then you have
a space here to write the title of your story. That's also a fun thing to
give your story a title. And now you're ready
to glue it in place. You can follow these
little ideas for your layout or you can think of something totally
different if you prefer. Again, you go with the flow. You go with what
makes you happy, what makes you feel inspired, what you feel ties
along with your story. Also very important
what fits your style? Because in all of
this journal thing, that's most important, this
is about you and your cat. So make sure you put in as much of you as you possibly can. It's all about your cat, but you're important in
there somewhere too. That's where you get to
decide colors that design, the shapes, that lettering, the doodles, even if you
just copy me in what I do. You can also add your own
twist and style to it. So I'll put this here and I have a little space to
write my title. Again, feel free to add in ever colors you want
and any other doodles, I might add another
little book or two. Here. I might add a little
open-book course. You might want to include doodles that are
related to your story. So if that's the case, then write out your story
first and then you can doodle, making some glasses or anything Q to one to
add if you wanted to, you can even include
a number, number one. So this is story time. Number one. I might put
it in a little circle, little bubble number, but
this is my story. Number one. That way, when you go
back to your journal, you can find it
easily and quickly. We can also doodle
on your brown paper. And there we have our story
time number one, Bye for now. I'll see you in the next class.
25. Food and Treats: Hello again, Welcome to another class of creating
our cats journal. Today we're doing a page
on food and treats. So this is a special
one for your cat, a very important one, because where would she
be without her food? So for this one, I
think I'm going to cut out this cat with
the little clock. I think it's applicable
because she's always telling us that
it's time to eat. I don't know about your cats, but she's so on time
when it comes to eating, feeding, and She's always starving even though
she's eaten an hour ago. All that to say that mealtime is a very important part of
the day for your cat. So you could include a title. I'm not sure yet what to do. I could write favorite
foods or feeding times. But what I do know is I'm
going to doodle some plates, whatever I want
to journal about. As you've noticed, I like
using a variety of shapes. I think this time it's
applicable to use little plates or bowls or cups. And on each shape I can
write a little question. I'm going to doodle
around those as well. Let me use a plate that
will have crumbs all over and a little spoon, even though cats don't
eat with a spoon. Little napkin that we wish cats would use to
clean up their messes. I don't know about your cat, but our cat eats quite messy. Just fun to fill your
page with all kinds of doodles here I'm going
to add a nice big fish. In that sense, that's probably
one of her favorite foods. I'll include a little mug. I didn't have another, I didn't have a photo
of my cat eating, but that would be a fun
little addition if you wanted to include
that on your page. For some brown, I have a little piece of this paper
which I might make a plate. This. And I'm going to do to
all my other tours. And by dueling over the plate, then I can know where to cut. Now I know just where to cut so that I can still
see my other pictures. So if I glue that down already, I get to finish tracing
my other doodles. So I can scatter
around a little bit of food and mess because
that's how she eats. You can doodle anything
else you would like. A little knife and
fork, maybe some milk. For a little puddle. I'm going to make some
little pop prints scattered around the
page or on the plate. Your title, you
could even make it something related to
her feeding time, either like Feed me, feed me or feeding time. Erase all the pencil. Some cats they eat almost
anything and other cats are very picky and if they eat something that
they're not used to, then third time he's
won't do very well. So this is quite
an important one. This is probably what
I'll write in my journal, what she eats. When she eats. And where. For the title, I might
just say Feed me, feed me or food, please. I'm going to make these
as little clicks. Food please. There will be little spoon, fork and knife, though it's fun to add some doodles
on your page. So take a little time to fill up these plates with the
answers for your cat. If you wanted to, you could
even draw what she eats. He could right here
that little make it a little clock of when she eats, where she eats and then
fill it with some color. Once you're done journalling, then you can even color
your plates or color your background or add some
color papers or stickers. That's up to you and
have loads of fun as you finish your
food and treats page. Cats are kindly masters just as long as you keep their
tummy satisfied. To me that shows how
important food is for cats I think they live to eat and to sleep and to boot. You can find a little quote or include this one if you want. I love adding funded
or things like that. Okay, continue to enjoy your page and I'll see
you in the next class.
26. Your Cat's Movie: Welcome to another class, the cutest ever catch journal. Today we're doing
the page movies. So you might wonder what
this one is all about. So if you have your little
book or your printout, you'll find a little TV shape. And we're going to doodle the
rest of the page together. And if not, you can just sketch it out and
doodle it yourself. So I've also cut
out one of my cats. I've chosen this one that way
he can lay down on the TV. I think that's cute. And to add some brown, I'm getting my book out and I'm choosing ground
without any texts this time because I want to make a little frame to
write my title. Then I'm going to
probably place it right here to make it little rectangle and then
like a little flag. So again, you could use
either some color paper, whatever paper you have. So here's where I'll put
the title of my page. The title of my page I'm going to put up here and
I was thinking of including if there were
a movie about my cat, it would be if you can
think of a movie or story that you could put into a movie that your
cat reminds you of, could include the title here. And if not, it will be
something fun to think about ways of expressing
your feelings, emotions, or thoughts
about your cat. What if you could put
it all into a movie? What would you call it? What would it be? What
would it be about in here? You can write a
little bit about it. Oh, it would be about this. It would have the story of this and he would do this and he would be living here and
he would interact with so, and so, and this
is what he would learn and the moral of
the story would be this. So you can include all those fun little
details if you want it to, to the TV set. And before we blew
anything down, I was thinking to doodle a few more details
on the TV together. So this is just a very
rough outline that there could be some extra fun details we
could add as well. I'm going to first of all, glue like cats so that I know what to draw
and Title Banner, put it whichever way you want. So I'm kind of doodling
and old-fashioned TV. So in the center of your
TV I'm going to make a little curved shape like
this and two little antennas. So TVs today don't have that, but I think it's cute. Look from an old fashion one way to make a
little leg as well. Front one. On the side. I could include some knobs
and switches and buttons. The rectangle shape, then
a circle shape on top. I'm just doing two
on the bottom with the volume and the picture,
the color adjustments. So here's where
you can write down all your little fun
details about the movie. And in here, you
would include title. And you could write
something here, like if I were to
write a movie about my couch or if they were
a movie about my cat, it would be dot, dot, dot. And you can include
the title here. You can do something
very simple and just call it movie time, which is what I think
I'm going to do. I'm going to go through
my lectures and spell out Moving time. How much space I have. So for the o, I'm
gonna do something cute and just cut
the whole thing out. And pretend it's
a little balloon, my cat holding it up. You can draw anything else that comes to mind or
that makes you happy. And to add a few little toys. Ball of yarn. Another one. You decide what else
you would like, how you want to decorate and color the rest of your
picture and of course, fill it up with some fun stuff. And you could even include
a little bowl of popcorn. So what is it that you like when you sit and watch a movie? Popcorn all over the place. Like hanging out with friends. So make it a real movie time. Well then just going to add pop prints to remind me
that it's all about my cat. Cats rule. After all, they were
all their household. Maybe you could find another
fun quote if you wanted to. There we have it. I'll see
you in the next class.
27. More Photos: Welcome to another class of
creating our cat journal. Today we're working on
the page, more photos. So we've already
done a photo page, but there are few in the book. So I'm going to show you quickly another format and other
design for your photo page. You can follow along. You can follow along
with your book with the download that I've
supplied for the course, for, of course, with
your very own notebook. So to get started, I've found one photo. Of course, there's place
for one or two or three, however many you want to
include on this page. I'm just going to show
you with one photo here. And I ripped out a page from my old book to bring back some
of that brown paper look, and this time I'm going
to make a straight cut. So I take my pencil, you can use a ruler if you like. And I just trace where I want to cut the general size I want. And that way I have a little picture frame for my
photo, something like that. I can already glue it. I'm just showing you little
options for designs, different ways you
can fill your page. So a lot of the
times need depends on what material I have. Other times it depends
how I foresee my page. So I asked myself what else do I want to add or
include on my page, I'm going to find another photo. Here. I might make a title and I'm just going
to call it photos. As simple as that. You can choose a fancy font, block font or straight font
or bubble letter font. You can always add to
your frame to give it some more fanciness. If you wanted to. I don't have another cat picture to cut out and glue here. So if you wanted to, you could always draw
one or doodle one. Now that you know
how to make them. You can be going peekaboo, little Paul appear as well. And I'm just doing
some more doodles that little camera middle
string tied to it, flash buttons, and
make some more photos. I'm just roughly sketching
it with pencil first, I get the general look of it. And if I'm happy with it, then I encrypt with my pen. Even add a second cat
if you want it to. If I wanted to add a little
bit more brown paper, I was thinking of making some little flags to
add to the photos. Just another excuse to
bring in some brown paper. That's another cute little
addition to your page. Can include them next to it. I'll glue this down afterwards and for now I'm going
to ink my doodles. And that way you can also
see clear what I've drawn. If you want to follow along. If you wanted to, you could
do something in these photos. There are print
or something else related to your cat or related to the
photos you're adding. If you want your lines straight, of course, just grab a ruler. I'm just doing
these curvy lines. There's not really any
particular pattern except in the corners. I tried to make them all rounded
and somewhat to give in. I don't always follow
exactly my lines. As you can tell. Sometimes I change my mind if I feel that it would be better. Another way here
I'm gonna give him a little eye patch and his
legs can be poking out. Photo and then I can
continue drawing the frame. Here again, I'm going to add his little hands,
his little pause. So if I have his head on top, I draw that first. And I can give him
a little pattern. Here we have our two little cat, and now I can continue
drawing my picture frame. I'm going to make it look
like a wooden picture frame. So I add the corner
pieces like that. Next I'm going to erase all
my lines and I bring back my little flags to decide
where to put them. One down here for
this picture frame, even over the numbers. Okay. It's one
good put up there. I liked them opposite
sides of the paper. Again to mix in the brown paper, look with my pen, I'm going to add a little
circle for the holes. And then as if it were a string, I would include
the date the photo was taken right in here. And I think I'd like to
include a quarter to so you can either write them out or you can even type them
up if you prefer. You can also make a
line if you wanted to write very straight. So there's one that says
there are no ordinary cats. So I think this one goes
cute with this photo. And that's a quote from
her name is Colette. There's no second name, so we'll just have
to go with that. So be sure to add in
some colors as you wish. Whatever you may
want to include, you can color your kitty cats. You could color the
picture frames, the title, the other doodles around your page and make
it really colorful. As plain as you want. You can mix in just
one or two colors. That's really up to you. Isn't it amazing that in
just a few short minutes, you have your page looking like this and it was totally
empty to begin with. If you compare the two, you'd be quite pleasantly
surprised. I think. Font color everything,
but you get the general idea and it can
have fun finishing it off. And I'll see you
in the next class.
28. Your Cat's Naps: Welcome to another
class today we're going to do the page next time. Chicken fall under, sleep times, bedtime, snack times,
whatever you wanna call it. So if you go through your
little cat pictures, you should have one like this that we've painted
color together. So you get to decide where
you want it on the page. Try it out. I'm going to show you how
I design my page here. And you take bits and tips that you want to
include in yours. Of course not forgetting to put your own twist and
your style to it. That's what matters
most in this project of creating your cat journal because it really needs
to come from you. This is your book,
it's your project. So I already have two
shapes, two rectangles. Here is where I'm
going to put my title. And I think I'm going to make a few little banners like
this for a few questions. So I'm going to take my ruler and I'm just going to draw
out a few other boxes. I think I'm going to
make them different shapes, different sizes, mainly. Just for variety. They don't even have to
be perfect rectangles. I'll make another thin one. Let me see if I
can fit two more. This is a very easy way
to fill out your page. Without too much work, you're just making
straight lines. And one last box. So I have 12345. I think that's what
I wanted and I'm going to write my little titles, actually, my little questions
for each of these boxes. And it's all related
to taking naps. So this is what I wanted
to include on this page. What about naps? Was interesting to know about
my cat or to remember about my cat or to keep as a souvenir or just to
know about his schedule. So I thought it would
be interesting to list when when is her
favorite time to sleep? Could be the time of the day, it could be the hours. Another one is where this one I made a big
box because I'm sure, you know already
if you own a cat, cats sleep almost anywhere. So I'm going to list some
of the places that she naps or sleeps and sometimes
it's the oddest places. This one could be interesting. How long, meaning like
how long and when go to sleep more during
the day or night. So she at night sleeper
or day sleeper. That's something interesting. And the last one I'm including is favorite sleep positions. If you wanted to,
you could doodle these answers or you could
just write them down. When you could make little
clocks if you wanted, where you could
draw on a chair on the table and the
couch in a basket. How long you could write
the numbers day or night. You could put a sun or moon. And favorite positions
if you're able to draw the positions
that could be cute. And if not, you can try
and express it in words. So that's what a journal is. It's learning to
express yourself, practicing expressing
yourself in different ways with objects, with doodles, with pictures, with cutouts, with
scraps, with words. And that's what makes
it so fun and exciting. Now that I'm done my boxes, I might just do a
few doodles around. That's the fun part next. And of course, including
my cat's name, Mimi, and I'm going to call it and you can make your
title whatever you want. You know me, we're
already going to glue it down before we even
draw around it. Something we didn't
include with some brown. So I will get my brown
paper because I want to bring in the
same style that I did with the rest of my pages. I might make a couple of
these with brown paper. I'm just drawing as if it were a rectangle,
something like that. And you can always trim it to
the right size afterwards. What I like about this paper
is that I do like the words, but I won't be able to write
very easily on the words. So I picked parts of the
page that aren't empty. It gives an outline
for my brown paper and then I'll just write
over my title again. And this one is going to follow and cut here
and then cut there. So that should work. So you have to get creative
when you want to add in some extra design or look me, I decided to go for
the brown paper, the old fashion, old
rustic book paper. So I'm kind of trying
to find different ways to include it on each of
my pages, which is fun. It's not just
doodling and writing. It's even more
creative than that. You find what's your kind of creative challenge and don't
be afraid to go with it. So here I'm going to write
question where again? Here was day or night course. If you think of any other
nap time questions, please add them into the comments and share
them with others. And here I'm going to write in bubble letters and add a bold side to it. Let's see recent. And
now we're ready to do few doodles around our page to start by maybe
making a moon here. And some stars, even though cats don't
always sleep at night, but it's just something
related to sleep. It's okay if you mess up, stars are hard to get perfect. And another fun thing is some, some z and some more Xie. I'm using these, these as a cute little
pattern designed to my page and I can
add in more stars. Here my ad is little slippers. Just for fun. You decide what else you would want
to include on this page. These are just a few ideas. If you wanted, you can even make some decorations on your
boxes for your text. Or add a little drop
shadow to your cat's name. What I'm doing is I'm just
making a line same direction. Each corner of the lectures does not look like
much right now. I think I got them all. And then I'm going to join them. I'm going to join this one. And this makes it have
like a 3D look to it. So that it's simple trick to really make your
lettering stand out. You can always include
colors to this, a different color to the back. And this one I might add
some little background. So most of my other
doodle pages, I added coloring to those
doodles and the pictures. But sometimes it's also fun to add some color to
the backgrounds. The shape you want your
little stars to stand out and make it dark background. You don't have to
add it everywhere. And almost draw a little line. I might even draw
a little pattern and color in that
makes it easier. That way there's a little
bit more rhyme and reason to my madness and
coloring the background. I'm making it look
like a nighttime sky. I guess. You wanted to. You could add a double stroke. Make it look a little bit
more intentional and fancy. I'm going to add little
planets or stars around the same color
as my background. So I could have
called it sleep time, but I called it nap time because cats are
known for taking naps more than even a long
stretch of sleep time. So what you do, how you want it. There's a little bit of red
and green, turquoise here, so I might bring in those
colors for the title. Here. I'm just doing the
3D part for now. So once you color this part, see it stands out even more. And there's a little red. I'm going to break a
little red on the frame. All right. I think
that's it for now. You get to finish it and
fill it up however you want. As you finished
coloring and as you're finished journalling your
answers for your cat. And I'll see you very
soon in the next class.
29. Kitty Tricks: Welcome to another class
of our cat journal. Today we're working on
the page Katie tricks. So you can open
your book to page 41 or you can print out the
download I've provided, or you can just take
your notebook and draw a little squirrel,
something like this. And we're ready to begin. I've cut out in
advance a few letters. The letters spell
out the word tricks. Since this page is all
about our catch tricks, you can use your letters for
the whole title if you want. I just included part of it. Because for the cats, I decided that I
want to bring in some of the brown
paper. I cut out. Actually, I ripped out a little
piece of brown paper and I'm going to put it
here and write cat, cat tricks just for a
different way to do it. I like having a variety
on all my papers, something a little bit
different even though they all join together
with the brown paper, the letters, the
colors, the style. I'm going to glue that
in place already just to have a clear view for
the rest of my page. Sometimes I like to
have everything thought out before I glue anything down. Other times, I'm pretty
sure sounded like this one. I'm quite sure that I want
all these letters appear. I'm going for it. I'm going to write here, cat, maybe bubble letters. Stand out from these tricks. I will include a little pulp
print already makes it cute. Maybe too. And I think I'm going to do a
little doodle here. I want to make my cat doing
a little bit of Acrobat. So I started already
sketching out my cat. I'm going to turn my book around just so it's
a little easier. So you can follow
along drawing a cat. If you need to review
your page on how to draw the cat and feel free to
go back to that class. I'm going to have him
do like a head stand. It's going to have
a little patch. One leg up in the air like this. So it's a lot of
messy lines for now, but something like that. Whiskers. So he'll be doing a
little head stand. Then I'm going to
draw another one. Think I want a little, this one will be
on a little swing. Of course, these
aren't really cat tricks that we wish
our cat could do. Little tricks like that, but it's cute I think. So this one I'm gonna make
him On a little swing. Can be looking up, one leg up in the air. The other one can be down here. We can't forget his tail. This one, his tail. Let's have fun now inking it. See how that looks. Ears are really small because there's sort
of in the back. We don't see them very well. I'm making him a
little fluffy Tommy. Fluffy tail. The bigger the lines, the fluffier they look. And you want your cat to
have little patterns. Comfort kid his arms. And here let's turn it around. It'll be easier to
ink it as well. And I can erase all
the pencil lines. So of course, your cat can't
really do these tricks, but it's cute to
think of some tricks. You can do. Anything else that comes
to mind where there is. I should have made
him with a pointy TO balancing a
ball or something. If I don't think cute, I could
try to balance an apple. And the second one. So add a little bit
of humor to it, I think hits this, that makes it fun. This one he's going
to drop the apple. I'm going to add a little
bit of shading and shadow to the pictures so it
shows there's a ground. Can add an apple here as well. We wanted to make him little movements with the
lines like this shows that there's
some movement going on that makes it kind
of cute and fun. I can have the swing
coming up from up here. That way it's a little bit
more challenging. It's a high. Alright? And so here is where
I would list some of the cat tricks that I
want to teach my cat. Some of the cat tricks I
tried to teach my cat. A few questions that
come to mind would be, this has nothing too
important about your cat, but I think it's fun and it
brings a little bit of humor. Tricks. I tried to teach my cat. Here. Tricks that worked. Tricks that didn't work. Then you can include
some lines to answer. You can include some
other questions or other doodles if you like. And I think I went to
include a little quote here, which would be fun. I have one here
that I printed out. I just cut it a little bit small but saves me
having to write it out. Says I had been told that the training procedure
with cats was difficult. It's not mine had me trained in two days for good tie along with teaching
your cat something. Although I think cats sometimes
have us better trained. Well, there's our little
page of cat tricks. Now, be sure to fill it with your answers and with all
the colors that you wish.
30. Questions and Answers: So here we are with another
class for our cat journal. Today we're working on the page together, questions and answers. So if you have your
book, it's on page 43, or you might have a download, just the plain notebook. Well, you can draw your
rectangular shape. For this one, I've cut
out this little cat. I like it because it
looks like his tail is kind of in the shape
of a question mark. So I thought it could be cute. And I also have a piece of brown paper and a piece
of notebook paper. So you can rip out a
page from a notebook or you can just draw some
lines on your paper. It's really up to you. I'm going to show you how
I put this page together. So we've worked
through a lot of pages already in our journal full of questions and journals
and things about our cat. But I think there's a
few other questions that I wanted to include in here fall nicely into
one separate page, which also gives us a
chance to question a little bit more about our cat or about our relationship
with our cat, which can be fun to get
curious and to go deeper, to figure things out. Asking questions is
the way we learn. We learn more about ourselves, we learn more about our cats. So I think I'm going to use my brown paper to draw
some question marks, since this page is
all about asking questions and of course,
including our answers. I'm going to use it for a
little decor for my page. By once again, continuing
with my style. You can just draw it out with your pen or marker if you like. That way your lines
are a bit clearer. Then I cut it out. So I want to leave
enough space for my questions as
well as the title. And I like to include the brown on different
parts of my paper. Let's see how it would look
like with my note paper. So I might make it a
little towards the side. And if I wanted to, I could rip out both sides. Just for the perfect duck. Going to take my ruler and draw the line of this box here. That way I know exactly
where to do it. You have fun playing around with where you want
everything to go. Put your cat under
here or on top. And I'm going to rip out my
paper just a little bit more. I don't need all that space. That we have a little space
for a title up there, right? I'm going to start out
by gluing down this page because I'm already
certain of that part. Whatever you know, you
already want in place, you can glue right away. And the rest you can
continue to play around. So again, I'm switching
out the question marks. I'm pretty sure about my cat already that I want him here. I have like eight
questions I want to add. So 12345678123456. I won't have enough
for two each. So some questions might
have one line answer, some might have just one word. So it sort of
depends on how much space I want to use
up for my questions. I think I'll just
go ahead and glue them and trust that
I'll have enough space. If not, we'll figure
out a solution. There's always a way. Then I can write
out my questions. What do I love
most about my cat? What do I like
least about my cat? My fondest memory
of my cat so far. First impressions, which you can include,
how did it feel? How did it feel to get your cat? How did it feel the first
time you held him or her? For the first time you saw them. So sometimes first impressions are the ones that you
remember the most. Like including this question, how do I feel differently
about him or her today? Like here, your
first impressions, how did it feel and how do
I feel today about my cat? You might have differing
feelings and emotions. What if I didn't have a cat? So would your life be better? Would your life be easier? Would it be lonely yours? So this is an
interesting question to ask yourself as well. Had in my life improved
since having a cat. Have a little bit of
space to write there. So I put these two questions
together just so I made sure to have enough space to
leave for some answers. And if you want, you can outline your paper either on the
outside or the inside. I'm doing mine on the outside because there's
not much space on the inside already for
writing my answers. It's just just that way it
stands out a little bit more. And here I'm going to
write a little title, or I might look
for some letters. I'm just going to get a Q and a for questions and answers. So I have a Q and a, and I might just write
a and in-between, since it's a short word. So I have lots of variety for my letters here, Q's and A's. And I'm going to
make an outline. The Q and a, so they can
stand out a little more. Launch. You could add a little
S, questions and answers. That way it's plural. And I have a few quotes by cat is there
when you call her. If she does not have
something better to do by Bill older, you cannot own a cat. The best you can
do is be partners. That's from Swanson. I think there's a cute never
try to out stubborn a cat. Yep. Cats are pretty
stubborn. I like all these. It gives a good laugh. It makes you understand
your cats a little better. I like how people
express it in quotes, sometimes sayings or riddles. That way I have the
best of both worlds. I have my own
journaling prompts. I get to answer what
it feels like for me. And then I also get to enjoy how other people see or
experience their cat. Feel free to write them
yourself if you prefer. Lastly, you can decide
if there's anything else you would like to
doodle on your page. I don't think I'm going to add
some little nature leaves. I haven't done that
for a few pages. Oh, my cat is calling to me. Oh, she is on my table. I wouldn't allow
her on my table, but since I'm working
on her journal, she's allowed to be here today. Do you know if you can
see her tail right here? Here's her fluffy tail. But I don't know if I can
work with you hear Mimi? She wants some attention. So I'm just putting a few little leaves,
leaves and berries. If you would like to
add something specific to your cat or some
other questions, and of course, please feel free. You joining us. Cleaning herself all over my table now. I'm going back to work now. Mimi, going to let me work. You took my ball to She's
still playful and happy. You like your new book. Okay, So where were we? Were doodling? Some leaves and berries. And to end this, you could
add some colors to your page. I have a little bit of
green with my n here, so I'm thinking to include
some green on my leaves. You ask yourself what other
color makes you happy, then could add some
more decoration and beauty to your page. I love adding little circles, polka dots, just makes me happy. I could actually make them
into little pop prints too. Well, there is our fun
question-and-answer page. So take some time to answer these questions for
you and your cat. I'll see you in the next class.
31. My Cat's Day: Welcome to another class of creating our cat journal today, where on the page, cats day. So I have my few supplies
with my little cats. My brown paper, little scraps of paper from my old notebook. This page is where
we're going to include a few details about
our cat stay, some of which can be fun
and interesting and nice to remember as a souvenir or even just as
helpful information. So I asked myself what are all those things that my cat's
does throughout the day? Kind of like his little
schedule, his little plan. If you have to tell somebody what your cat was doing all day, what would you put on this page or how would
you think about it? So the way I see it as
just as if our outline, a little plan, a little
schedule for my day. I'm thinking about
my cat priorities. I'm trying to put
myself in his shoes. What are his priorities? What is what are his
favorite things to do? Things that he
needs to get done, even though cats don't
really have that. But it's kinda fun
to think about. I think it's just
fun to put it into words onto this little page, whether it's with doodles
or sentences or words. So I have my little cat here
and I'm thinking to create a little banner that would say my day or something like that. So because he's this shape, so I'm thinking he could
hold a little string. And the title could be like in a little flag,
something like that. And for each little triangle, I'm thinking to
write the letters. So that's just one idea. With my brown page, I'm going to draw out
some little triangles, so I need five triangles
to spell out. My day. I'm going to make these
triangles a little bit more pointy than usual. Course, I don't even
need that many. Because each time I
make two out of them. And you can save the other
ones for another project. And I'm going to just see
how they look fit well here. If you wanted to, you could also put your cat in the middle. My day. I'm just going to erase my
little sketch as you go along. You can change your mind if you find a better
way to do it. So since my title is two words, I thought of putting my
cats right in the middle, and then he can still be
holding his little string. So let's see how it
works if our cat is holding or you can
make it go down. I like the variety my and then date appear.
Something like that. Could be cute. So I think I'm already
going to glue it. I like him standing
just above the box. So it will be just, just can make your triangles a little smaller
if you wanted to. Now, let's see how it looks
as we draw it all string. I'm making a little hole
in the string as if the string is going
through the triangle. And then coming out again. If you wanted to outline your, your triangles, It's up to you. And then you write your title. My day. I have this other
paper which is a little lighter brown. I like it. It has a little texture to it. Here. I'm going to doodle a clock just because I feel that my day
has all to do with time. What happens in the day. So it's another cute doodle. I could do it directly
onto my paper, but that way I get
to cover the lines. So I might make a kitty cat
clock with little ears. Here. I could make little pause. This is just for fun. So you can get creative. Get crazy sometimes
for the alarm. Let's see what's the time she
thinks so I'm going to put 1230 because it's
very often the time we eat lunch and she's there faithfully on time
waiting for her food. Then you can ink it with
your pen or your marker. You can make little
eyes if you want it to. It always girls. And for the little alarm bells, I'm going to and then
we can cut it out. So you can already
start to think about what you would like to
include on this page. For me, it helps me to
think about my day, my schedule, what
time do I wake up? What time do I have? Breakfast. You can ask herself,
did she follow your schedule with some things? For my cat? She has breakfast when we do because she likes
us being there. And she has lunch when
we do while we work, you can decide what her work is. You get to decide
what kind of work she does her work, cleaning herself, taking a bath, thinking
about what she's going to eat, dreaming about eating. So you can add all those fun little details if you'd like. I have a little quote here. It's tiny but it says
cats rule the world. Another one to remind us about the importance of our cat's
schedule, our cats day. So I might do this already. So again, feel free to doodle this straight to your
book or your page. And here I'm going
to cover my number. I don't need it anymore. And then if there's
anything else you want to doodle on your page. Here, I'm going to make a
little box for my quote. Make a few pause. Here. You can make a little
sun if you wanted to. Add some little clouds. I'm going to add a little mouse. Part of his day is
going hunting for mice. And maybe I'll put a
few around the page. So I'm just drawing
a little oval shape. Little circle for the
eye to little ears, and a little tail. So it's probably the simplest, simplest way you
can draw a mouse. I'm going to draw another one, doing like a little pear
shape or egg shape. And at the end I do a little
nose, too little ears. And your tail. This is not that one
doesn't look like a mouse. All right, and for this page, I'm thinking of writing. Here is the time. I'm going to just
be my little title. Here's where I'll add the time. Here. Could write
activities of the day. Then with my ruler, I'm going to make a
line just to divide up my little box without
drawing over my cat's tail. So here's the time
that you would write. I'm just going to write a few down to give you an example. But of course you do it. What fits you and your cat
and her or his schedule? Seven o'clock, wake up. And if we're not awake,
we're on vacation. Very faithful to wake us up. 715, breakfast. After breakfast,
730, go outside. She spends most of
the morning outside. And I don't know what
she does outside. It's probably play time, play hunting time,
catch lizards, time, lizards and mice. It's nap time. She's very faithful
to find new spots in the garden or in
the barn to dust. Because when she comes
back in the house, she is just full of
cobwebs and dust. We can tell with her white fur. And then usually I
have my breakfast at I have my coffee it at 715, and then I usually have
my breakfast at 830. And at 830, she has
her second breakfast. And she comes and licks my goal. Anyway, that's just the
beginning of the day. It's going to take me a
little while to continue, so I'll let you finish off. Have fun continuing
your caps day. Adding all those fun little
cute things about her. Make it fun, make it humorous, make it whatever you
like. Bye for now.
32. Cat's First Birthday: Let's see what we have today. First day. This is an exciting one. Your cats, first birthday. Now, what will it be? I'm using a peg here is my book is getting a little
bit thicker here. Like all these pages
we've worked on. So it just helps to
keep everything in place and that way it
doesn't fall closed. First of all, I'm
starting with a photo. I went to my photos and I found one for her first birthday. And I chosen one of our little cats that we've
painted and cut out. And the rest will be all design and fun that
we'll do together. So what I like to do
for this birthday, I think I'm going to
write out a big number, one next to my cat here. So I'm just going to sketch little bubble, the number one. My cat can be right
next to it like that, or on this side and go
have him here and here. I don't know if you're
a cat would let you do. But when she was little
able to put on paint, her little kept Paul
and then put it on a paper and we had
her little pop print. So that's a cute little thing to do if they still
let you do that, you have to see. If not, you could include another little
photo here anyway, I'm keeping this little box
here for her pop print. Whether she lets
you do it or not. If not, you could even
take a photo of it to size just to see how
they grow each year. But at least you
have a little memory of your cast paul print. And I think I'm going to include a little cake
with one candle. Might make a little muffin. Here. I might write Happy
Birthday with big letters, or you can include
your cat's name. So I think I'm going to just use cut-out letters for birthday and then I'll write
happy myself. Just for little variety. My photo is not exactly
to the right size. I'll have to trim it a bit. And let's get gluing going
to start with my letters because I don't want them
to get all mixed up. Using letters is really fun. Cut-out letters brings
out color things. A little design. We can also clue,
or a little cat. Since we have a few
birthday pages to do, then, you'll have lots of chances
to do it different ways. So I'm going to ink my
little boxes and doodles. Here. I might put a
little drop shadow. That could be fun too
for some of your boxes. Here, I'm just going to write pop prints because I can
always glue it on top. And we have our one
candle for one birthday. Feel free to do anything
else you would like. Here I'm going to write happy, Happy Birthday, and
here I'm going to write her name to make it
more personalized. And adding a little
bowl to my text, to my fonts so I can see
it a little bit better. I think I'm just going
to write like make some little stickers
one year old. As if it were a little stickers. You can even think
about see if you remember what you did for
your cats first birthday. I remember we had a
little Tea Party. This would be a
time to either add some more photos or doodle
some of those things. So since we had a tea party, maybe I'm going to
draw a little tea set. And the kids gave
her a little gift. So you can add
whatever other details or doodles you would
like on this page. I'm keeping it fairly
simple because we have three other
birthday pages to do so. I don't want to use up all
my ideas on this first one. And of course, what's fun is to add a little bit of color. So you can choose a
little color theme for each birthday page. For this one, since I have a
bit of green already here, I'm going to go with green. I have different
types of greens, so I might make my
mug green. Play. Little pattern. Screen matches a bit better. I think for my number one, I'm going to color
a little pattern. It's a nice way
to add some color without having to
color the whole thing. Goes a little quicker too, but I think it also
adds to the page, rather than just
coloring it fully. I'm including a fun pattern. Then you can decide
what else you want. Green, of course, include
another color she would like. I'm going to make
like a woodblock here by just adding
some little lines. Sometimes some circles. You don't have to
even cover it fully. Just giving a little pattern. It's a little trick to
make it look like wood. Sometimes I had some circles,
sometimes some lines. You can add your little
corner lines like this. There we have our
little birthday page. I'll see you in
the next class for your cats,
two-year-old birthday.
33. Cat's Second Birthday: Welcome again to
your cats journal. Today we're doing
another birthday page, so this time is
birthday number two. If you have some
photos one or two or more than you can have
that ready in hand. You can use your
book with the box already drawn for
you or the printout, or you use a notebook and
create your own from scratch. And that way you can make it to the size that you
have your photo. I'm including my little
cut-out and painted cats. Then like we did for the
previous one, the page, I'm going to write a big
number two, that way, right away when I
come to this page, I'll know what it's all about. I'm thinking to put
my two up here again, just like I did last
time on the top. I'm just sketching it out. I liked my cat next to the number on top
of the photo frame. And this time I might put another pop print down here
just for something different. And I think I'm going to include the couple balloons since today, she or he, two years old. So I will make two balloons. Here. I'll make a
little cake again, maybe a little muffin
with two candles. So it's just a little
cloud of puff of cream. And then I make some
little lines like this. Then a curve line and we have our little muffin and our
candles is two parallel lines. It's like a little cylinder
shape and then I curve the ends and our
little leaf shape for the candle here I might make a double frame where
it's post-print. Add a couple more
balloons again. The balloon is an
oval and the not, I just make a little triangle
and then a little oval. And I'll do the little
strings, have them there. So where am I going to write
Happy Birthday this time? I could have a
small little sign, happy birthday,
something like that. So it's a quick design look
to bring in a little paper I'm thinking to draw number
two with my brown papers. So I'm just going to measure, I want to use the part
that has the text in it. So it would be like up to here, from here to there. And then I can draw
my number two again. I drew it quickly
on my page because I wanted to make sure
it would fit nicely. Something like that. I like to trace over it to make sure I cut
in the right place. So I didn't mention in our
previous birthday page, but this page is
for you to include any special little
moments of that day. Whether it's something you did, whether it's a gift that
you give your cat so you could put it all
in the photo. Here. She got a little doll
house with some animals that might daughter
we gifted to her. So you could put it
in the photo if you did a tea party or
if you had a cake. But if not, then you could write down or doodle those
little details. Because those are the things
that are fun to remember. Two, after so many birthdays,
you'll forget, oh, what was it that we did
on her second birthday. And at the same
time that way each time you can make it a
little bit different. So be sure to add in
those little fun, cute details about
your cat's birthday. Those are all fun to include
on your page somewhere. And there's plenty
of little spaces like we did last time. There's plenty of spaces to add those little details
to your page. Going to erase my two here. And I think I've already glue those things down
that I know for sure. Which are my photo, my number two, and my cat. I think it's time
to take our pen. Then to trace over
our little doodles. You can start with
your pictures or you can start with
your texts to you. So each birthday picture, I kinda like having
something different. Here. I'm going to again use my brown paper and maybe include inst one
balloon in brown. That way I bring a
little bit of brown on that side of the page to
make the little knots. Awake can even go over
my little picture frame. And let's do our little
candles and cupcake. Again, a little fluff. Add some fluff there. This time I'm going
to make my cupcake a little bit different
just for variety. I do little zigzag
and then follow the lines and then a
curved line to the end. Let's do our little frame
for either call print. If you manage to get
your cat to do that, you just have to put a little
bit of ink or paint on her paw and then put the paint on the paper here
in this square. And if not, you can
add a photo instead. So I'll write again palm print. As a reminder. I like to add little details
like this in the balloons. It kind of shows that
there are little 3D. And here I can write
Happy Birthday. Just going to make
very simple texts and add a little line
at the end. For fun. And birthday, I
might write cursive. So I'm going to
erase everything so I can see what it looks like. And if there's anything else I went to add or
include on my page. So this one is fun because
you can fill it with loads of colors taking some of the
colors that are here. I like the yellow, the blue, or the red, and I'm not going to doodle anything else
because that way it gives me some space
to journal or right, a few things about that day. I'm going to do
this later on with my kids and we can each
write a few words, a few things that we remember
from her second first day. So it's even a fun activity, actually can even be a fun
little activity to do. During your cat's birthday. You take a photo if you can
print it out right away, and then you make
the page together. Have loads of fun with that. I'm going to bring in some blue to add little polka dots
on the balloons. One maybe color
and the other one. If you wanted to add
a little shadow, you could do that
to your balloons to make them look
a little more 3D. Decide where your
lighting is coming from. So if mine is coming
from the top here, then I can add a little shadow
with black or gray here. I'm going to put some
on the balloon behind. You can add those fun
details if you'd like, if you want to get
even more into it. But you decide what
you have the time for. You can either add the shadow before the colors are after. Here I'm going to make a little pattern balloon
with some blue flowers. And little dogs. Make it fun, make it
artsy, can get pretty. We kinda brought in the yellow, the blue, and the red
into our picture. Actually, I'll bring in
a little bit more red. So I have the red on this side. I want to bring it down to
the bottom of the page. So I'm going to just color
in this frame. For now. We have it. The rest I'll leave
up to you to add in all those fun special
details about this special day for
your cat, for you. And I'll see you
in the next class for birthday number three.
34. Cat's Third Birthday: Welcome again to our
cutest ever cat journal. So you can get your book
ready, all your supplies, your papers, your cats, your photos, your printouts. And let's begin for page number 53 are birthday for a
three-year old cat. So on this page we have
around photo frame. I'm not going to
glue one here right now because I didn't
have one handy. You'll know that this
is for your picture. I do have my little kitty cats that I want to put on this page. Now we can get started
with doodling. So for our previous pages
we did big numbers, so I'm going to continue
with that and also decide where I want to put my other
things might pop prints. So I can put my palm print here. I like using variety, so that's why I use the
oval shape this time. You can decide where
you want your number to be or what type of number
you want to make it. Here. I think I might
make a little gift bot. So I'm doing a very
rough idea for now. So I have the general
look and then I can decide where I want to
write Happy Birthday. Maybe I'll put it
up here this time. And I'll see if I
find some letters. Just going to use cutouts
for the word birthday, trying to find some
that are not so big. So I'm going to already
glue my lectures. I'm thinking I might not
even have to write happy. I'm just going to
write birthday this time because they could
just be Birthday three. Since I don't have
so much space. Maybe I'll put my
cats on top here. Then we can doodle the
other things on our page. I'm not sure if this is enough
space for my pop print. And if not, it's okay,
I can use it to add some other little details
about the birthday event. The activity, what
we did together, a gift, if my cat got one. All those fun details that
are nice little souvenirs. And for the little gift, I'm thinking to do it
with my brown paper. I'm just going to cut a box. Square shape. Those smaller. I'm thinking to make a
second one on the top there. Since I have a
little extra space. And I'm going to trace over it. For more contrast. Add a little ribbon, bow, a circle, and here
I do another circle. This time. I go wide on the sides and on the
ends I go narrow. So that's why I make
my little ribbon. And didn't get add
a little line. For the ribbon. I'm
going to go behind, one in front and one behind. This one. I do the same. I think I'm going to
erase the lines first. Since my old papers
very delicate. I don't want it to grip
while I'm saying here. Then I can glue those. What other little details
could I add to make it fun? We had candles, we had
cakes, we had balloons. What else would be u at
this one has little gifts, so I think that's cute. Actually, if I make a third one, it will be like three gifts for the three years of birthdays. So maybe I'll put one here. And so what if there's no space for the pop
print this time? You can include your
pop print anywhere on the page if you
want it to go with three gifts for his
third birthday time, I'm going to make it double
bow when this way as well. Circle. I'll make it thinner. So I like thinking of
different ideas for each page. I find it boring to make pages
the same as you can tell. See, I could do some little
de corps on my number. I'm just trying to
see what else I could add to this page to make it fun. But it might be enough because you might have
other doodles and other texts to fill
your page with. So keeping it simple
is also fine. You decide if you don't have many details, then of course, fill it with some art and
doodles and drawings. You can even ask yourself, what does your cat like or is there something
different that she likes this year that
she didn't like last year, something that she does. This would be a fun page to also include new things
that she does, new ways she's
exploring the world. I'm adding a little frill to the photo frame with some
little curved lines. And then inside again, I'm gonna do a
second curved line. That way it looks
like a real thrill. I'm going to put in a few
pop prints somewhere on this page because
you know how much I like them and they're so cute. But I don't want too
many either because I want to leave space
for other stuff. I have a little quote which I think is fun to add as well. If you have space on your page. This one says cats seem to
go on the principle that it never does any harm to
ask for what you want. So I think it could
be applicable for birthday because cats are pretty demanding that they
have the right to on their birthday or we
don't mind feeding them. That'll extra early, or feeding them an
extra special snack. It's their birthday after all. You kind of excuse them when we excuse ourselves
when it's our birthday. And I'll put it in a little
box and add apocrine. Right? I think that's
good for this page. Of course, fill it with colors. Any color that you wish, since there's not much
color on this one. And have loads of fun. See you next time.
35. Cat's Fourth Birthday: Welcome again to
your cats journal. Today we're working on the page, birthday for page 55. So this is the last birthday in this book because after
birthday for I figured, well, it's kind of common and
they've already grown into everything they're going to do live past their teen years. They're adults now. But I thought it would be fun
to still end with this one. So I have my kitty cat. I don't have a photo again, but this would be the
place where you add your cats photo for
her fourth birthday. Whether the event, whether
with her cake or surrounded by her gifts or maybe surrounded
by her family with you. So bringing something
special to the photo. So this time I'm going
to add a little bit of brown paper in a
circle shape because I'm going to put
her paw prints over here because this
one is a rectangle. I was thinking I'll do
something a little different. So you just trace on your
paper and then you ink it. And you may be, you're
wondering how to include your cats pop print
on this brown paper. All you have to do is just choose a different color paint, maybe a darker paint
or white paint. You decide just
something that will stand out on this brown paper. And if not, if you
don't have a pop print, then you can include a
little photo of your cat, which is also loads
of fun and adds decor color to your page. So we're gonna write a
big number four again. I sketch it out with
my pencil first. And this time I'm going
to make a special cake, a bigger cake, not just
the little muffin, because we need to
fit four candles. So I'm going to make just a straight line and
then curvy little lines, waves on the bottom. Then again, two more lines, straight line and wavy
lines again on the bottom, which is the icing. Again, two more lines for
the rest of the cake, and then I'll put it on a
little plate like this. Let's make little
ovals for the top of our candles and little flames. And the little line in the
middle there we have it. So what can we include? That's fun here. You can think what your
cat loves, is it toys? Have a special toy
that she enjoys. Think I'm going to
draw here some yarn. Since we haven't done that
on her birthday ones yet. You can kind of think, what
else did she enjoy your life? And if not, if you can't
think of anything, you can just add some designs. I'm going to add little
flowers for this one. I'm just sketching out a few, maybe two different
types of flowers. Once I add flowers, I sort of put them everywhere. So here we go. I love flowers so much. Here I'm going to
make another big one. So I'm just very roughly
sketching them for now because I'm not thinking about getting
too detailed yet. I'm just planning out where
they're going to be kind of thing in relation to everything else that I'm
going to add on my page. Okay, maybe I better
stop flowers now. If you wanted to
write Happy birthday, you could also find
a place to do that. This time I might
write it really small. Happy Birthday,
something like that. I wanted to put it in a little
box or a little ribbon. Maybe I'll add a
little balloon appear. I think the rest of the page, I want to keep it for little
details that I want to write about or sketch
about the birthday events, the friends, the gifts. Special snack course usually benefits us more than our cat, but those are the little details that we remember about
that special day. Now I'm just tracing
out my rough lines. I'm coloring it in since
I made a few mistakes, I'm going to add a few
little lines on the cake. Could be little chocolate
chips to glue down the cat. So that I know where
to put the balloon. I'm going to have her carrying the balloon to little balloons. Here, my flower. Now I can get a little
bit more detailed. So I'm just doing the petals
so curved at the ends. And then the middle. I'm
going to do little dots and lines for the bigger
flowers and these ones, I'm just doing three
little dots or one. Depending on how big they are. Smaller ones I make one dot. I forgot this down. If I have space for
my Happy Birthday. And we just have to
erase the lines. So this one is pretty
straightforward because now we've done a few birthday pages and they're all sort of similar. We want to include the same
things, the same details. But of course, your cat probably changes and matures and grows. So that's where you would add in all those different details
about each birthday. So again, fill it with colors, any color that you want. I would suggest to first glue your picture
down, your photo down, and then take some of those
colors and add them to the details or doodles
around your page. And I'll see you next time.
36. Get Better Soon: Today we're working on the page. Get better soon for
what your cat has. Dull moments of sickness,
not feeling well. So for this page, I have a little photo
that I want to include. My cat is steeping here, but it can also be her
not feeling so well. So if you have a photo
when your cat was sick or hurt himself or
maybe at the vet, it would be a fun one to
include on this page. So for my page design, I'm first thinking about what I need to
include on this page. So I have a photo and I think I want to include the
times that my catch was sick and also when
my cat went to the vet because that's important information that
I don't want to forget. So I'm going to take some
little scraps of blind papers. And on one of them I'm
thinking to include the times that she was
sick and the other one, I'll include her
trips to the vet. So we need to see if we're able to fit all that onto our page. I'm going to start out by
cutting my papers two sides. This was from an
old used notebook. So it's practical to reuse some empty pages or
pages half-full. And maybe the trips to the
vet don't have to be so big. I'm going to try and
make them the same size, such as possible. And you can decide where
you want to put your photo. Thinking of putting mine here. And I've cut out some letters
to spell the words vet, and also to spell
the words sick. So I can decide where
I want to put those. And you know me,
I like to include a little bit of brown
paper to my page. So let's see how we can do that. Either. I could make a little
picture frame for my photo. Maybe I'll do that. I think I'm going to the
photo a little bit smaller. There's some parts that
aren't very important. And that way I can use my
brown paper as a little frame. And I'm just cutting
evenly around the photo. I'm going to ink around the photo and also
around the little frame. That way it stands
out a bit more. It's more contrast. Can add these corner lines to make it look
like a real frame. Then I'm also going
to draw a line, the edge of each paper. It's okay if it's not perfect. I don't mind a hand-drawn look. Of course, feel free to do this part with a ruler as well. That way you could
go a little faster. First, before I write, I'm going to see where
I glue my lectures. So I'm thinking to glue
my letters down already. And as I'm doing this, I'm thinking about what I want to include on these papers. What exactly would be
important for me to remember. Alright, I think I can
already glue this down. So some words that
I want to include are the date and why. Maybe first start off
when my cat is sick, I would write here when
and here with what? So what does she have? Why is she not feeling well? And here I can make
a little line. Date goes here and then
I explain what she has. Same here. I think I'm
going to put the date, so I'll put when. And here alright. Maybe why why did she
need to go to the vet? Green? I can fill that
out with my pen or pencil for my little title. Think I'm going to
write it in here, maybe get better soon. We don't need a
huge title because I already have the word sick and Vets was very clear
what this page is all about. Get better soon. I'm going to take a piece of
paper and draw a little cat. Since I don't have
any more little cats, we've drawn in painter together. So I'm just going
to sketch one out. Maybe this time I'll
make him in bed. I'm doing the oval ears survey. This one, be from
a different angle. And closing his eyes. Maybe I'll put a
thermometer in her mouth. I'll make her a little
pause right next to her head with
a little blanket. And her little pause. And of course her tail. She could have a little hot
water bottle on her head. Little pillow. You draw that odors signs. You draw the details
that you want. While we're at drawing, I'm thinking to draw
a little medicine, little vitamins, right,
fit for vitamin. So I'm making a
little bottle shape, but a few that now we can
increase our pictures. So I make the little lid. You can just follow along or pause the
video if you need to. Watch a little bit
more carefully. Two curved lines, one
curved the other way. Again, two curved lines, one curve the other way. And then parallel lines. Then the little
vitamins for medicine, it's just little oval
shapes for the cat. You know how to draw a cat. Now, him with closed eyes. And again, the little patterns I just like kitty cats
with the patterns. Even though my cat is all white. You can make
whatever pattern you want on the little
sheet or a blanket. Again, that'll lines
for the fluffy tail. I'm changing my pattern
tool circles instead. Then we can erase.
Then we can cut. This page will have included our little doodles and drawing. Practicing drawing
our cat again, you will have included a
brown paper for decor, dark cut-out letters
for variety. Our notebook papers
for writing on photo. Now, all that's missing is the information that you're
going to fill it up with. Coloring if you would like. That, you still get
to personalize it in some way to you
and what you like, try you feel it suits
you and your cat. Then you can decide
where you want to put your little pictures. Curse you can doodle these directly onto your
notebook or your paper. Since I had already
lined papers, I don't like drawing over that, so that's why I drew them
on a separate paper. And you decide if
you want to add some more to those to your page. Or pop prints. To doodle a little cup with
water, a little straw. When you are sick you
need lots of liquids. Maybe a little jug of water. Little pillow again. Think about again, what do you enjoy? What is cozy when you're sick? You need lots of rest. Maybe a little moon for sleep. And some stars. Lots of good rest. Here. I could even
write some little Zs, maybe a little apple for
good food when you're sick. And there we have our
little get better soon page that you can add
lots of colors to. Anything else that
you want to include. And I'll see you next time.
37. A Letter to Your Cat: Welcome to another page
of our cat journal. Today we're working on the
page letter to my cat. So this is page 59. If you're using the
book or the download, and if you're making your own, you can draw or use a
little envelope like this. So this is almost our last page that we're going to
work on together. There's two more, one for
photos and one for story time. But since we've already done
some of those together, I'll leave those
for you to do in your own time after
this last class, that will be your
little challenge. So let's get going with our very final page
for our cat journal. I thought it would
be fun to include a little letter to my cat. Just some ways of expressing
my love and attention, thoughtfulness, and
care to my cat. Even though it's not
something that she will understand or even
read or even here, of course, you can read
it out to your cat. But I think it's a
fun souvenir and also helps me remember all
that love I have for her. So we have part of
our envelope here. The reason I haven't finished drawing it is
because I'd like to include and letter inside first. So I'm going to cut
it on the lines here. That way it will fit just
right in my envelope. You want to measure it
so it fits the width. And I think I'm going to
leave it long because I can always folded. That way. I can write even more. I get to right here and
I get two right here. So what I'm going to do is
measure where I need to cut. I can see through the paper a
little bit and I'm going to cut on the line here so that I can still
see the envelope. That way it looks like it's
coming out from the envelope. I can already glue that down. I'm just gluing down one side. And here I can even write Dear. Here, alright, love. From deer. You write your cat's name and then you write
your name there. That way it kind of looks
like one big letter, but it will be even
longer when you open it. And I'm going to write my title with
cut-out letters here. So it's not like your cat is going to understand this letter, that it's more of a way
to express yourself. That's what journals are four. Sometimes some
questions are useful, sometimes they're fun, sometimes
they're informational. This is what this page is for. It's more like for fun. And as a memory for you, I'm going to write a letter
and maybe here to my cat. I'm just going to use my
ink pen to write to my cat. Can even put it in a little box with
stands out a bit more. She wanted to outline
the letters as well. I like doing that sometimes to the letters that are white. That way it looks
different than my paper. I can doodle few more
pictures around my peach. I like making little hard to show lots of loves to my cat. That's why you write a letter. After all. Here will be an open envelope. I have some hearts coming out. Here. I can draw back of the envelope and the
little lecture coming out and some scribbles as if I'm writing a letter
and it'll pop print, could be from my cat back to me. So what would you tell your cat? If he could understand? What would you tell him or her? One question to ask yourself, and that's why I've
included it in our journal. And I even have a
little cat picture left from all the
ones we painted. I might glue it down here. As well as Doodle, a little lecture as if
he's reading his letter. Can add a couple of pages. Can add a little pencil in case you want
your cat to reply. And I have a little quote
I want to include as well. It says, what greater gift
than the love of a cat? The acute one to
remember for this page. And that's why we're writing a letter because
we love our cat. So you can see where
it would fit best. Can even cut it out and put it into two
parts if you wanted to. I like the kind of crafty look. I'm going to put it that way. Not even perfectly straight. And then I'm going to even
draw rough lines around. I think for more decoration, I could even just cursive, write a few words after. Lots of love. Anything that comes
to mind related to writing your letter. Messages. Open and read cute
little words like that. And later on I'm going to take some time to write the letter. When I have time to be still and quiet and think about my cat. Then I'm just going to end
with a few little colors. So what colors do I
have to work with here? I have a red tea, so I'm thinking to include
some red on my page. Definitely for all the hearts. You can't go wrong by
making red hearts. And it adds some color. Of course, feel free to make them different colors
if you prefer, or to add patterns to them. You know how to do that
too with your coloring. Now, I'm going to try one here. Maybe I'll put a little
brown to the sign. Since we didn't get to add
brown paper to this one, it's quite full already. We had some brown letters. And so I'll color my sign Brown. And I like to add a little
bit of shadow to my envelope. Since this would be a full here are a little bit of shadow
to the pages underneath. In the back. You do how you want to make
a yellow pencil. Alright? And you get to decide the rest. What else you want to include? What are the colors and
fun things could you make? Well, that's it for now.
38. Final Thoughts: Congratulations on completing the cutest
ever cat journal. So you can go and have a look at all the
pages you've finished. That was a job well done. Really. You worked so
hard at it to make it so beautiful and fun and
personalized to you and your cat. This is such a treat and it's
such a beautiful gift or memory that you can
give to yourself or to somebody else who
loves kitty cats. I really hope that
you had fun creating this booklet or your
own little journal for your kitty cat. And in case you wanted to add some more pictures are
fun to your booklet. Then check out those
magazines from your shop. Or maybe some pet stores, advertisements, they always have some cute little pictures
of animals and cats. So I found a few in my
last batch of magazines. And I'm thinking it
could be fun to add those pictures of
people with a cat. If you don't have too many
photos or if you don't have an option of
printing them out, then this might be
a good alternative. So they might be a
little bit small since you don't get
to choose the size. And I'd encourage you to even, especially use the ones
that look like your cat. And I think it could
be cute to include other photographs
throughout your book. If you don't have enough. Example here, if you
wanted to include one. For this one doesn't even have any even looks like
a little sticker. I ain't include mine right here. You decide where else. Could look cute and fun. Little things like that scattered around your
papers could be. Anyway, that was the last
little bit from our book. You also have a
chance to try out your own personalized
pages here, more photos and story time. So I encourage you to do that. And if you need more cats, you can photocopy these. You can cut them out. There's plenty to work with. I hope that this was
really fun and enjoyable. And most of all, that it will be a wonderful experience to go
back and refresh your memory on some of those cute
things that your cat does and your relationship
together, stay positive. Five for now, see you
in another course. I care a lot about it. These carrots. Carrots,
please tell me, you care a lot for me. Wait, the snowman snows us. Wonder, snowmen say their
burgers taste like carrots, which was nice knowing you see deeply rooted issues,
they're not responding. Well. These pans, I don't
really care a lot.
