1. Travel Journal Introduction: Welcome to the course of making your own meaningful travel journal. Hello there, My name is on yesterday snack. And I'm an artist, illustrator and teacher in France. My memory is not that great. They are just never seems to be enough space in my brain to store all those vast experiences or the memories of all the places I visited. So that's when a travel journal comes in mighty handy. Apart from a place to capture and preserve the memories are travels, giving us a space to record the experiences, sights, sounds, and emotions we encounter during our trips. So that years later we can revisit these pages and relive those cherished moments. Here are seven benefits for making yourself a meaningful travel journal. Like I've already mentioned. One, capture and preserve memories to. A journal allows for reflection and self-discovery. As we write and reflect on our experiences, thoughts, feelings, are lessons learned and for me, a journal, any journal has become part of my toolkit for Well-being. Number three, it can enhance the experience because it encourages to pay close attention to our surroundings and maybe be more mindful of the present moment. We take notice that the tiny details that we may otherwise have overlooked. And again, helping to enrich our traveled experiences. Number for a journal helps to improve our writing skills or communication and expressing ourselves. Number five, I think he can also help serve as a valuable resource when planning for future trips. We have our journals to refer back to those experiences to help us make better traveled decisions the next time. Number six, it can be loads of fun to share our travel journal with family, friends or maybe fellow travelers. Again, sharing tips and ideas to do's and whatnot to do. A journal helps us document the cultures, traditions, and customs of the places we visit. And so it automatically creates deeper and more real connections with the world. Number seven, which is when I love a journal is a space for playful, creative expression. And as we try out different layout inspirations and sketches, doodles, photographs as well as beautiful papers and cutouts or whatever sparks are, artistic joys in the moment. If you would like to enjoy some of these benefits, come and join me as we create together this beautiful and meaningful travel journal. Of course, there are so many different ways that you can make a travel journal. And I encourage you to actually figure out how you can personalize it most to you. Include those extra special delights that make you most happy. In this course, I'll show you how I've made one of mine. You can follow along step-by-step or you can get a few ideas are inspirations to incorporate into your own work of art. Or if you want, you can just sit back and enjoy watching. There are no muss or shoots here. Just welcomes and invitations and feeling wonderful about your voyages and travels. Few specifics about what you'll learn in this course are some handy materials that you can use in your journals. Sorting and organizing your souvenirs, categorizing photos, your page layouts, adding journal prompts, putting it all together, making your titles and texts, some extra page fill-ins, drawing doodles. You'll get to see a journal flip through from this journal that I've made and a little bonus with some meaningful added quotes. So without further babbling, welcome to the course of how to make a meaningful travel journal. I'll see you in class 2. Materials You Will Need: So I start with little notebook. I love using little notebooks because they're not too overwhelming and I have different ones for different trips. This is just a regular notebook with papers, hundred and 20 grounds. I'd like that because then I can paint on it, I can glue on it. I can write on it with markers and it won't go through the paper. The most important part of this is collecting your magazines, your maps, your coupons, your tickets. So that's what I did. And every place that we went to, I took the brochure that they had in the museum that we visited, for example, or the city, the town they give you Maps. And the best thing is to actually go to the tourist offices of the town or the bigger town. And they'll have these that you can just gather, which is what I did. Other times you'll find on the spot of where you visit, they might have some postcards. So that's what I took here. And then some bigger magazines of the area. And these are great ways to find what you need. So what I do is I go specifically to the places that we visited and I'll cut those out. And what I really like is sometimes in my own patch of PFK-1 to it as well. If I don't find some of the specific places we visited or just to add to it, for example, if we went to a rocky beach and I don't have much on that, I might choose part of this. These are just from magazines that I've cutout and saved because they're all related to travel or nature, places to visit. Like here, I might use this old car, even though we didn't use this car or something. Bcci here, some beautiful clouds, just some pictures like that, random pictures. So if you want to add a little bit more color in life to your journal rather than just the tour guides or the maps, then you can have that option two. And of course, the important thing is your photos. I went through all our photos, what we did every day and I just picked out some of the best ones that I wanted to use that I printed them out. We'll small and cute because it doesn't have to be huge and take up too much space. Something else I'd like to use is a lined notebook just to whip out some pages, some parts that I want to Journal, some answers or some thoughts or some souvenirs, especially because my notebook is just plain white paper. I like the contrast. Sometimes there's yellow papers that I can find, but the contrast with each other is really nice. So that's one other thing I'd like to use, and then a little booklet of colored cards, some nature postcard. So if you have that, sometimes I have Patreon papers. Anything to add little more color and spark that this is not an obligation. This is just for PFK-1 if you want and if you have because I don't want it to limit you from actually starting on your journal if you don't have some of these supplies. Last but not least, I went through my stickers just to be able to use them. And if there's anything that sparks an inspiration or some joy to adding these one or two to my pages. That's always FUN. And they'll bring me joy and be beautiful on my travel Journal. And a few of the supplies that you will need are the usual scissors, a pencil, if you need some glue options, some pens, and I think that's it To get started. See you in the next class? 3. Sorting and Organizing: So to get started, I'm going to take my notebook and all my papers and coupons to get some maps that I've found along my journey. So what I'd like to do is just go through each one and see if there's anything valuable that I want to keep cut out, whether it's a little part of an explanation, Fun fact on the place, the title, especially if they're big and I'm going to organize them one page per place I visited. Or if you have a lot of them that you visited, you could even do one page per day. So I'm showing you here a little bit how I did that. One day we went to Dijon. We had an ice cream which I founded another magazines, so I include that on this page. I don't have a particular coupon of what we did there because we just went through the center of the town. So for now I'll just leave that page there. The next thing we visited was this museum. So from this brochure, I could either leave the whole brochure in on, might just cut this out. And I could do one of these. Because this is the main floor that we visited with all the Fun exhibitions. I'm just doing a rough cut to start with, and then I include that on my pages. Here's a little bit of Fun facts about the building and case I want this is a little reminder as well what it was with the main purpose of the museum. Alright, so I have these few things and I will leave them in there. The rest I just put aside for right now. Here we went to another city. So here I have a ticket of a place we visited. It's an exhibition. We went to the tourist office looking for specific place. So they gave us a map, which is we were here and we went all the way here. This was a beautiful place to visit and take photos with a lovely view. Anyway, it gave us an overview of the city as well. So I'll decide when I get to the crafting of this page, what part of this map I want to keep, I won't keep the whole. But for right now, I'll keep it on this page. Next, I might leave a page blank for photos if I want to include that little bit more. Here's another places we visited, which was beautiful with flamingos and nature reserve. So I kept the map. I don't have the ticket with me here, but that's okay. And then I'll find some, maybe some other nature things related. Alright, well, I'm not going to show each page to you because basically that's what I did. I first thing I did is Catagorize all my brochures, magazines, and tickets and steps and all that actually went really simplified is just as the days happened, I just listed what we visited where we went just very quickly. That way. I didn't forget what happened on each day. So I can be reminded, you can make a list in a notebook or on your phone. Just as you go through your day. A few of the main events that we did that can also help me Categorizing each page. So I'll probably go back to this as I create each page. 4. Categorize Photos: So what we're going to do in this part of the course is Catagorize our photos. So I just printed them out, all mixed up as they came. So I'm going to go back to my list of what I did each day. And this will help me to Catagorize the photos. So I'm already going to cut them out. So you can come and join me with your photos if you would like. I like leaving a little edge of white. You can just start by cutting them out, which is what I'll do. And then I'll have my little pile and categorize them. Think photos are the best thing to keep as souvenirs. You don't just see the place, but it just, it just reminds you that you were there. I love photos are pretty things, amazing buildings and architect, but when you somebody is in the picture, it changes everything for me. So I probably didn't take as many photos as I wanted to in each place and area because as a family, we take a lot of video. It's hard to do ones, but it's okay. I'm content with a few. If you take a lot of photos, it's probably a challenge to Catagorize. So I would suggest that you actually do a page for each day or for each place that you visit it. I mixed all mine up, which is going to take me a little time to categorize them back into place. So maybe simplify for yourself and think of that beforehand. As you layout your photo pages. If you don't have a printer to print your photos on, then usually most supermarkets, big supermarkets are certain stores have a photo printer. You can just bring your photos onto your jump drive and you can print them whatever size you want. More and more, they have little practical printers that you can print directly from your phone. I don't have one of those, but I have some friends who do. So if you want to continue to make these journals and maybe that's something that you'd like to get yourself treat yourself to. So I love taking photos with showing different architecture, different colors, different types of houses. Which was one of the amazing things that we noticed, that I noticed when we traveled around France. Every area that you go to has different types of houses, different scenery, even different nature. So it was really beautiful. I think every country has that high needed to get out a bit and further from home to be able to be reminded of that. We can of course really get into it too and take some FUN shots like this, different types of photos. So it's not always the boring poses, but so now that you finished cutting out all your photos, you can categorize them. So I'm going to try my best. I kind of categorized it actually buy the clothes that I was wearing. Which means it's that day. Then at the beach, since the place that we stayed, some other towns that we visited. So however, it works best for you to categorize your photos. You can start there. To me, a photo is a way to capture all those memories and experiences that a brochure doesn't. This is where it personalize, is it for you? And also it helped me to realize that there are beautiful things all over, even in my own backyard, in my own country. I don't have to go far, too far to enjoy beautiful things. I think that's always a good way to see things. We can be grateful for what we have. Here are all my photo collections by theme a little bit by day, as much as I remember. Going back to my list, day one 5. Page Layout Ideas: So now we're ready to start with our first page. So I have all my pages categorized. It's quite thick as you can tell. But it will be okay because we'll even it out. So what I'm going to do, I put my photos to one side, I see how many I have. And then I start cutting out a little bit more detailed all my brochures or whatever other papers I have. So on this day we went to a beautiful botanical garden. So I didn't have any photos from that specific garden, but I have some similar ones from another brochures. So I'm going to use those. Nature is quite similar, especially in a park. So I'm just going to cut them to see how I want to lay them out. It might not use everything. So once you cut them out, you can have a clear idea of how you want to lay things out on your paper, on your page, and also what other things you would like to add an include. So I love to add other stuff, but if you are happy with just your photos and a bit of text and your pictures, then feel free to go with that. If you want some other things, you can always go through your extra brochures. This has some summaries stuff. So I tried to look whatever colors I want to include. Even a little picture like this could be cute. This is more BCCI vibe and it gives you ideas as well as some things that you could doodle and draw on your page. So just go with your inspiration, intuition, or and have FUN. This is a FUN process. This is not work for me. This is just enjoyment, pure relaxation, favoring those special moments together, those souvenirs. And it doesn't have to be perfect. Far from it, you can just glue everything down quickly if you want to. Just to save you some time. I do like to make things beautiful though. So I will do it in an artsy, creative way because that's what makes me happy. Do it, how it's right for you. It's your travel journal after all. So it needs to make you happy and it needs to make you want to go back to it or maybe show it off to somebody else, to your family and friends. There was some beautiful animals to them since special garden saw that kind of helps me remember a few things even though I don't have many photos of this place we visited. So I do a general layouts like that quickly 6. Journal Prompts: Now that I finished my rough layout, something that I like to do with my travel journal is add something a bit more meaningful. So I've listed some questions for myself, some questions that I would like to add to my journal, maybe for remembering certain things or for taking the time to reflect on other things. To me, this is really what makes my Journal personal and unique and special to me. So I'm going to just cuts these questions out. I've created this page so that if you would like to use it to, you can go ahead and use some of these questions for your journal. So of course, if you prefer, you can just use the typical questions or just add some little notes and diary entries into your journal, what you did that day, how where you went, what you visited, the town you're in, all that. That's great to add for your little Titles. But if you'd like to go even deeper and have even more to look back on how it felt or what you learned with something meant to you, then you can use some of these questions and don't feel obliged to use all of them. I probably won't use them all either. I might choose one per page. I just go with what I feel at the moment. Go with the questions that inspire me. It would that triggers some memory from my trip. To simplify, I've made this as a printout, but you can also just choose one or two questions and write them out and your journal. So I feel that asking certain questions just adds to the memory, adds to the souvenir. So few questions might be, what local customs or traditions did you observe or experience? What were some of your favorite natural beauty encounters? What would be your biggest takeaway from this trip? What would you not do next time? And why? What is something you would like to try again and we'll soon? Or does something new you learned about the world? What was something you were apprehensive about, but then really enjoyed? What is a moment during your trip that touched you in some way or left an impression. Anyways, so I won't read them all here, but you decide which ones are appropriate for you and to add to your journal. So I might add a question here. I have plenty of questions, so I could even add one per page. So after I choose my questions for each page, I can already decide where I want to place them. And I always leave a little space to answer. So if I place them on the top of my page, I can have space to reply here. Fits in the middle of my page. I can have space at the bottom. Now the next step is where it comes in handy, your papers or notebooks. So to simplify, of course, unless you're using a notebook that has lines, you can actually go ahead and use different lined paper. You might have some different color ones who was a yellow page. So I'd like to use a variety. Look into my little travel crafting envelope. For some other types of lined paper. Here I find a few. I like using variety in my journals, even if it's white paper but a little bit yellowish tinge to it, or maybe some brown craft paper. So it's whatever you'd like to use, whatever you have on hand. I'm just going to work with what I have. Course. You don't need too many options. Even if you have just one, it will work just fine. So down the line, I might even take some pictures of and I'll be a little more choosy. Be this one includes trees where it might take these off because I have flowers here as well, or I'll take these off. You choose according to what you feel. You'll remember the police best here has space for the title. Then you can cut up. You can even rip out a piece of your line paper. I always like using ribs to give them more natural organic field to it might include that there. And I'll use a variety of types. This one I'm just going to cut. You can decide how much space you want for answering the question. It's really up to you 7. Putting it Together: You can always use little bits of paper. For PFK-1. I'm pretending that these are little pieces of tape. So now I think we're ready to glue things down. So I'm going to use my glue stick or maybe you have a tape like this. Use whatever is most practical for you. And I'm going to glue things down. But also keeping in mind that I have some Titles and some other things that I might want to include on my page. I don't feel bad, It's not perfection here. This is just for PFK-1. This is just for you. I'll move my book a little bit and start gluing things one-by-one. I find it very helpful to just take a photo with your phone of your page layout. That way you know what the layout looks like. And if you forget something, if something goes out of place, you can always refer back to your photo. Here we go. I'm starting with the things that are on the first layer of my page. And if I don't manage to, then I just dab it with glue a little bit. Like I did this circle here, this oval. And I didn't push it down all the way until I've got all the other ones in place. So I can put these in place once I know that it's exactly where I want it. I'm going to leave space for my title. It's okay if you kind of change or alter things as you go. I'm placing my question here so that it can be right close to where I write some text. So there we have everything glue down. And I'll see you in the next class, where we'll start filling up our pages with text and titles 8. Titles and Texts: So now that I've done the Layout, I'm going to make sure I've checked my list of everything that I did that day or the exact place that I went to. So you can go to Google map if you don't have any brochures or any specific address, which is what I did. So you can do this in different ways. Of course, you can write it out. But I'm going to make my big title of the city. I think I'm going to use cut out magazines. So I'm going to go looking through some of the texts from the magazines I've found. Or because I already have the collections of letters cutout from magazine that I've been saving up for awhile. I can do that as well. I'm just looking for the letters that spell Leon. I like using different lettering kind of adds the Fun. So you decide where you want to put it. Might place the city on the top and then the specific place that we visited. Down here. It's very handy when you have lots of letters that you can choose from. All different lettering, all different fonts and sizes, even different colors. So this helps your lettering entitled to stand out. And you're going to be writing tons anyways with your question prompts. Have FUN with this part. Cutting and gluing the letters. Alright, I like these colors as a bit of green and blue. I tried to take some colors from my page as well, just for it to match. I don't like any clashing on my page. And so for your texts, for your other Titles, you can also use lettering. You wanted to cut them out. Of course, if you have a brochure, you can cut out the title. That would be the best, but I didn't have one from here. So I'm just going to write it down. I also like writing the date that we visited this place. So I will start with that. Or like some fund lettering as much as I can or know how to do. Even though it's very simple, I'm not too big, lead to a person that I love a beautiful cursive writing. And these questions, as you've noticed, they're not on this particular page or activity or outing, but it's just general questions about the whole trip, about my whole Vacation. And that's fine because I love going back to the journal and just like picking bits and pieces from our travels, from our experiences, the places that we went to. We have photographs, we have personal, family pictures and all the rest kind of ties in-between adds to the memories, fond memories of the whole trip. Which is why I like to use a small notebook because that way I can create one for each of our vacation trips. So now that you've finished your title, you can go ahead and spend time at journaling your answers. 9. Page Fill-ins: If you still would like to add some extra colors or touches of De Corps, then go back to all your books, papers, even stickers, and just add those special touches that you would like that make it even more meaningful. If I want a little bit more color to my page or I have a little blank spots. I could always include a little card if you had lots more to write about. So feel free to make a little pocket. So I like using some of these cards sometimes that I find in books and maybe cut it to size. That is right for me. And because their card stock, I just let that be a pocket. And then later I can add either more questions and my answer is behind, or just more pages to fill up the spaces. So I'm going to see what fits here. So these are some lovely little cards, but they don't quite fit the theme of my page. Something blank like this. I'm going to try out. It's just one way to use at my material. It's not that I really need something. It's also good just to leave some empty spaces. You don't have to fill it totally. I might just be happy with my page like this and something FUN as well that I like to add is just some, some words, maybe some feeling words. How did this place feel? This page? How did I feel when I visited this? What are some adjectives I could give this place? There again, you can add some beautiful writing. Beautiful spacious. Me, anything in nature is always calming or refreshing. So first I write it in pencil to make sure that the spacing is good. Sometimes I don't know what to say, so I'll just say, wow, there you have it. Your page is beautifully filled. Just be sure to take some time reflection time to jot down those answers. So something FUN that we did was on our way home, we had a long trip home, so I just called out these questions and as a family, we each popcorn different answers that we had about each one. So I'm going to look back on my notes and include some of those that way we have something from each of us fits your own personal journal. Then of course, take the time for you. I'm going to jot down maybe different color for each of us and our impressions I replies to these questions, then that way it's a joy to go back to and will each get to add our personal touch to it. 10. Drawing Doodles: I've already gone through some of my pages and add some doodles. I'm giving you a few little examples here. So I tried to add doodles related to the page. So here's kind of a BCCI vibe. Here's a little air balloon, so I might add some clouds. Sometimes I like adding some lines to my boxes that helps it to stand out a little more. So really there's no right or wrong way to do this. You just go with the flow, go with what you like or with what you enjoy. So sometimes I've added nature and leaves, flowers again, more clouds, some little lines. Sometimes some lettering can also be included in the doodles. So different types of lettering that always adds to the front of it. This town is full of lavender, so I tried to match the vibe and some wine areas, so I need some glasses, some grapes. Here's a ticket of our little train ride. So I added a little doodle of a train. So this is really FUN, playful time at yourself enjoying, go crazy if you want to. I've added bubbles, I've added seaweed and leaves, even a little compass, a little car. So I'm just giving you little ideas here. And then you take those and you do what you want with it. I'm sure you can think of many more as well. Sometimes just a few little lines, a few borders, a few leaves and Doodles can really change your page and actually just make it PFK-1. It can turn adult Page into I really playful, attractive peach. So here I've added the little road, some little movement lines for the bicycle. Again, some clouds, some lines in black here I've added lines and white on black paper. Anyway, those are just a few FUN ideas of doodles that you can add to your book. In the next video, I might give you a flip-through of the rest of the book. Just for fine if you're curious of how we finished it. 11. Journal Flip-Through: In this video, I wanted to give you a little flip-through, a little tour of my travel Journal from the summer of 2023. Just as a little inspiration and just to show what you can make. Few would like more detailed instructions and ideas of how to create this, then be sure to watch the course that I've made on it. And it might spark some inspiration and motivation to make one for yourself. It doesn't take a lot of time, energy. I've tried to really simplify it for myself. That's my biggest lessons here is simplifying in every area of my life. So including collaging, crafting, and making a journal. So that's why it's, you'll notice it's not very big, It's not many pages. I wanted it to be manageable, doable for myself. Not overwhelming. Anyway. So this is the first page. I kind of packed it full because it's quite small. So this page, I actually did it at the end because I didn't know what to start with. And I put in all the leftover things that I didn't get to fit into the rest of my journal. So some postcards I picked up along the way, some extra photos from different places that didn't fit on my other spreads. Then some stickers I wanted to add, again, the leftover journal prompts that I didn't have space for the rest of my journal. I wanted this beautiful fashion car and this picture from a magazine and I made it into a pocket with some more lined paper or to fill up. Here's a picture from a magazine. So as you can see, you can add in anything. Everything you want is no right or wrong way to do a journal. So here's the page that we worked on together in the course. So you might remember that if you followed along the course with me and if not, you'll see we went to Leon. I used some cut-out letters for the town. I added doodles, I added questions and journaled answers together along with my kids and family. It was a FUN family time activity. Sometimes I journal that myself other times Together with them. Here's the next page. So as you can see, it's not totally filled up yet. I'm giving myself a little time and patience to finalize it and completed. And there's still lots of little blank spaces because I'm gonna go back to it and also get my kids help to make sure I get each town and place and photo corresponding to the day. You have space to add exact plays, stayed, time, Fun facts, other things we visited, and even a bit more journaling answers. So you'll see there's postcards, there's line papers is a little card. There's the photos, there's pieces for magazines, there's tickets, so there's a variety of things and each page is a little bit different depending on what material I had to work with. Here. I had a cut out Magazine and I brought into pinks again, places that we visited, even something that the town is known for. So it was so interesting to find those places, even though we had heard so much about them, it was really a first-time for a lot of things. I didn't read out all the questions, but you'll see them if you take the course. Anyway, I make this, I've titled this as a meaningful, purposeful travel Journal because each of these questions actually adds a little bit more depth and meaning to a travel journal. Like what was your favorite place to visit and spend time in? What was something out of the ordinary for you on this trip. Sometimes they're very general, other times there, reflective and mindful. What was the surprising or unexpected gem you stumbled upon? Their just FUN to ask yourself and I think it adds to the memories, the souvenirs. What five adjectives come to mind first from your trip? So he added a few extra ones. How did this trip add value to your life? So some of them that we answered together, new experiences, family times, photos, videos to post, appreciate simple beauties. How did this trip push you out of your comfort zone? How did it help you grow? Traveling far from home? Lots of driving practice for my son, New trying out new ice cream flavors. I'm going to personalize it a little bit more for myself, but I wanted to first take some time as a family for some general answers and see what they had in mind and how they wanted to answer these questions. What was something you were apprehensive about, but then really enjoyed. What did you enjoy most? What was your biggest highlight? These questions are always really FUN to go back to course. A picture is worth 1,000 words. Sometimes when you dig in deep and write a few more details, I think it adds to the memory What were some of your favorite natural beauties encounters? So here it's just a little pocket I made from this photo because I didn't have much space on this page. Here again, it's another pockets to Journal. And I add the photos I had and then some doodles and a magazine picture that I cut into. Here I had a MALP another little map showing where are we are in the country magazine page. And here I use the little ticket that we could train, ride around the city that we took. And I use the pocket for some extra pictures of places we visited from that town, as well as a couple more Journal questions. Tear I found this and it had to do with the town, so I just added it for more text as well. The doodles I've added are all related to the Page place that we visited with the town is known for. Here's a page of little random things. This is the place we actually stayed at, which was beautiful. I wanted a memory of that. How did you do with living and enjoying the present moment? So I was glad for no pressing deadlines, enjoying the here and now. No urgencies to go Home, Fun, play together. Connection. I've included a map and a postcard, saving space. What did you realize or learn about yourself during this trip? So here I added a little piece of tape because my page was falling apart. Let's say another question prompt. What was the most useful item you packed and why? So sometimes I include it FUN questions, other times a little bit more reflective and mindful. What is something new you learned about the world? And here I've added a notebook page because I didn't have space to fill up everything. I had quite a few photos on this topic. That way I could also include a nice magazine picture. And of course my Journal prompts, doodles. What is something you would like to try again real soon? What is a moment during your trip that touched you in some way or left an impression. So there's still more to write and fill up, which is something I will do in the next few days before I forget again, lots of PFK-1 doodles and pictures, stickers, some extra pieces of leftover craft paper. And a beautiful pattern paper which kind of blended nicely with these greens from my photos. A little card. As you'll notice, sometimes I included the places we visited with cut-out letters from magazines. Sometimes they were in the magazines themselves Here. And other times they just wrote them down. Maybe when I had a little less place and space. What was a bit of a challenge during your trip and what did you learn from it? So here's where I added my answer. How can you incorporate a little of what you've learned into your everyday life? Enjoying life a little more, slowing down and piecing myself more, enjoying the process and not just the end result. So going back to these pictures and he's Journal questions is what's me back in that moment of how much I enjoyed it and just relaxing in the moment. This was a beautiful little town, beautiful lake, a beautiful garden. I used this brochure and to save space, I also covered it with lined paper and to include more photos. So that was a fun1 to work on. I love all these extra flaps and folds. How did this trip inspire you and give you renewed motivation and spaces to fill out? And this is the last page. So as you can see, he's step every bit of space. Again here I made a flap so that I include, could include a last Journal question, what would you not do next time and why? This beautiful butterfly? When I see with the colors, I like the pop-up look. So I've written the towns here again, it's kind of mixed up. It's not really perfectly in order, but it doesn't matter because it's a small book, one month vacation, and it's during a short period of time, so I figured it would be okay even if it's not perfectly in order. Here, I use some of the brochure that I got, just the interesting part, the map at the place we visited and some Fun facts about it. I found a photos online. What was an interaction or exchange that stood out to you? Anyway? So that was it. And simple and short and sweet, but a beautiful, delightful memory to go back to little souvenir. I love that. It's got photos, it's got pieces of where we visited. It's got feelings, it's got emotions, it's got reflections, it's got thoughts and ideas and little pieces of wisdom. And it's such a reminder to cherish and savor all those memories and even partly to appreciate what we have at home. That's what a travel journal is for me. Anyway, I hope this was an enjoyable to you and just as a reminder, you can find more instructions of how to make this the link below. And if you finished the course, I congratulate you for joining me in creating your own travel Journal. I'm sure it came out lovely and beautiful and full of enjoyable memories for you to hold onto, for years to come. And feel free to also check out my website for more journals, more courses, and more reflective moments to continue to take care of your wellbeing 12. Adding Meaningful Quotes: Here's a bonus additional video to go along with this course. So after I did the little flip through, I added a few quotes to my journal, a few friendly reminders for my next travel adventure. And for me, a quote is often a catchy sentence or phrase, and it just helps to put into words what I don't know how to say sometimes including some quotes into my journal ads even more meaning and purpose. I can say it in my own words with my journal prompts. But when a quote confirms what I feel or think about something than it seems to have done. Power for me. It's like a little piece of magic to add to the experience and souvenir. So I've included a few of them here which I'll read out to you just for fun. And they're all related to travel, semi picked out and chosen from online and others. I've written myself. So when preparing to travel, layout all your clothes and all your money, then take half the clothes and twice the money. I think that's a good one for packing and preparation. It always seems to end up that way where we take too much stuff and we don't have enough money to spend. Here's another one. We wander for distraction, but we travel for fulfillment. That is real true. I would like to travel the world with you twice, once, to see the world, twice, to see the way you see the world twice. So wonderful about traveling with someone as a family or with your loved one. To me, there's nothing better than that. Traveling is hard. It forces us to trust strangers and to lose all that familiar comforts of home and friends. We are constantly off-balance and insecure, but it's great. It's healthy. And we could all do with a little more of it. Life is not meant to be lived in one place. That's for sure. When I hear of people, old people who have lived in the same town all their lives. I just don't know how you've managed. Travel leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller. Loads of experiences and stories to share when you get home. That's what's wonderful about it. Travel journal. It's a place to write those stories, to tell those stories. The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. To me, that's a very important one because often we feel we have to go far. We have to go experience something big and grand. But it's really in how we see things, how we view them, and we can have just as much pleasure and enjoyment in something simple and small or something close by. Always say yes to new adventures. Traveling tends to magnify all human emotions. It doesn't matter where you are going. It matters who is beside you? Yes. Yes. Yes. I agree wholeheartedly. That's what made this trips so wonderful. Being close, being with my family. Travel is a lesson in tolerance. Travel is a practice into full presence. We have to be fully present in order to enjoy every bit of it. That was a big discovery for me. During this vacation trip, we traveled not to escape life, but for life not to escape us. Sharing adventures means enjoying them 100 per cent more. Yes, sharing them with my family. So much of who we are is where we have been. I think we'd sometimes take for granted all those places that we've been to and they make us who we are. Travel is an experience in itself. Once destination is never place, but rather a new way of looking at things ties in with one of the previous quotes. The difference between traveling and staying home. One, you have stories to tell, the other stuff to show. You choose. That's a good one. Let's sit, are the curious for they shall have adventurers. A traveler without observation is like a bird without wings. To meet observation, discovery, reflection. It all ties in together. People don't take trips. Trips take people. I follow my heart and it usually leads me to the airport. Good company in a journey makes the ways seem shorter. We add long trips on this vacation, long car rides, but being together, having some fun discussions, listening to music, singing out loud, cracking jokes, listening to podcasts, telling stories, all help to make the right a little shorter. All trips have secret destinations and delightful surprises for the unaware traveler. Sometimes I'm contented just to Hartley roam around and let the journey be an exciting adventure. Yes, I think there is a balance to planning things out to a T and also just leaving some space for some surprises and excitement. Wherever you go, go with all your heart. Jobs fill your pocket, but adventures fill your soul. Especially adventures out in nature. Travel far enough. You meet yourself. That's what I love about a journal because you meet yourself. Stop and reflect and ask questions and put down those memories that you want to keep. Live life with no excuses, travel with no regret. Traveling is wings to fly higher, to soar, to the skies, and dive into the beauties of the world. So I had all those little leftover spaces. So that's why I decided to fill them up with some quotes. So if you want, that could be another idea of how to fill your journal. To me, it's another piece of joy going back to it, especially for the next trip around, I get to remember those little life lessons, those little catchy phrases that tell me something that reminded me of how wonderful it is to travel, what it means to me and the purpose and all the memories that come from it
