1. Introduction To Course: Hi everyone. In this course I'm going to teach you how to create some paper texture brushes. To create lined paper. Grid paper, checked paper. Poke it up paper, thick polka dot paper. As well as learning how to create stamps. Basic outline shapes such as squares and circles. Also be teaching you how to create this simple outline brushes. I hope you enjoyed this course and please show me any designs of brushes that you create. Some of the brushes that we'll be creating this course will be available for you, such as these rectangle ons, triangle hot squares, circles and these flower wants and our basic now lined paper. But please do try to create your own as they are super easy and super useful technique and tool in digital planning. If you'd also like any of the paper textures that we created, please visit my Etsy shop, which I will link below. 2. How To Create A Lined Paper Brush: The first paper texture brush that we're going to create is this white line brush. Also going to create this narrow line brush as well. The first thing we want to do is we went to go into Procreate. We want to click on the plus sign. And what we want is we want a square canvas. So you want to click on this square. What we're gonna do is we're just going to go into our drawing guide and click on, and then we're going to click Edit Drawing Guide. You want to just go to the bottom and put the grid size as high as possible. You also want to click on the assisted drawing. Then click done. Then what you want to do is you want to go to your brush and go into calligraphy and click on the mono line brush. Click Done. And you went to make sure that the color of your brush is black. The first thing we just got to do is you can see on our first layer we've got assisted drawing on. All we're just gonna do is simply create a line down the middle here horizontally. What you want to do next is you want to go into your layer and click on a new layer. You want to go into the color and change it to white. And then click Fill Layer. Then you want to move this underneath the first layer that you created. And then go into your first layer and just click merge down. You can see here we've just got one layer now we want to do is just click on it and click Copy. The next thing we want to do is you want to go into your brush. We want to duplicate this monoline brush. I'm going to just slide and click Duplicate. Then on the duplicate monoline brush, I'm just going to click on it. And then we want to go into grain. Then go into Edit. Then you want to go into import. Then you went to press paste. You can see we've got our line here that we just created. You just double-click it. You can see inverts the line. And then you went to click done. Then you can see here if you go into grain, not really. It looks a bit strange and funny. We want to do is once you're in grade, you went to switch it from moving to texturize. Then you want to just scale down. The scale is just how close together your lines will be. You can see here the quiet close together. What I want to do is I want to go into my properties and click the maximum size and just make this as large as I can see, it just becomes a lot bigger. Brush size. If I go back into green, if you click the scale and you just play around with this, you can make it as big or as small as you want your lines. I'm just going to leave it at this size. What I wanted to do is go into properties and click, use stamp preview and put the preview as Max. I want to do is I want to go into About this brush and then just go at the top here. And we can be named this, I'm going to name this wide lined lined paper. What you can do is this sign here. Just click Done. It just shows everyone that this line brush was created by you. Now we're just going to test out brush. Well, I want to do is just hide this layer, switch off the Drawing Guide. Then I'm going to click a new layer. And I'm just going to choose the black color with my white lined paper brush. I'm just going to do is just, I'm just going to color. You can see here. It just gives us our lined paper. This is super, super useful and easy technique, especially for digital planners. As you can just create lined paper in all your pages without having to manually create each of the lines. That's our first brush done. One excellent to do is I want to create a liner brush, but I want the lines to be more narrow and more space together. All I'm going to do is click on the brush again. Then I'm just going to duplicate the wide lined paper brush. And then I'm just going to click on the duplicate. And then I want to go into the grain and go into scale. And I just wanted to make it a bit smaller. So you can see here, as I've made it a bit smaller, the lines have gone smaller. And then I'm going to go into About this brush and just change the name to narrow lined paper. Click Done. This is our narrow lined paper. We're just going to test it now. Go into our black again. Make sure we're in our narrower lined paper brush. We're just going to again, just color over here. We've got a lot from narrow lined paper. 3. How To Create A Diagonal Paper Brush: The next brush we're going to learn how to create is this diagonal brush. Next brush that we want to create is paper which has diagonal lines. On. What we want to do is want to make sure again, we start with a square canvas, go into drawing guide. What wanted to do is want to make sure the color is black again. Go into our brush, go into our monoline brush, and overgrown to do is just create a diagonal line from one end to the other. Just straight down the middle. Like that. What you want to do is click on a new layer, go into color, into white. Press Fill Layer, move this underneath. Click on the original layer and click Merge Down. Click on our new merged layer and press Copy. Go into the brush, press Duplicate, click on the brush, go into Grain, Edit, Import, Paste, invert. It. Doesn't go into growing behavior, changes, texturize, and make this a bit smaller. In our lines here, I want to go into Properties, go into maximum size as the fullest. And never to go into about this brush. Change the name to diagonally lined paper. Changed the name to meet by. Just sign it. Then I went to click on Done. Here we've got our diagonal line paper. What I want to do is I'm going to click on a new layer. Change the color to black. Make sure I'm in my diagonal line paper brush, increase the brush size. You can see we've got our diagonally. 4. How To Create A Grid Paper Brush: I'm now going to learn how to create this grid paper, as well as this white grid paper. Next table that we want to create is a great paper. I wanted to do is go into the wrench tool and click Drawing Guide. Then, then you want to go into our brush, make sure we've got the monoline brush plate and make sure they're on black. Then you want to make sure you've got Drawing Assist on. And this will help us create some straight lines. Or we're just going to do is just follow these guidelines. Just create two lines. Then you want to create a new layer. Make sure the brush color is changed to white. And click Fill Layer. Put this underneath, go into the first layer that we created and click Merge Down, press Copy. Then you went to go into your brush and duplicate the monoline brush. Go into the brush again, go into Grain. Go into edit was important and click Paste. And I want to invert this double-click, then press Done. Then you went to go into green behavior and change it to texturize. You can scale this down, up a grid line so I can just scale this a bit down if I wanted to. I wanted to do is go into Properties, go into brush behavior, and click Maximum Size. Again, go into About this brush, put in your name, sign. It can change the name to paper. And you can see here we've got a good paper brush. I just want to click on the black. Click on my brush. And you can see particularly pilot grid. I'm going to do is I'm just going to go into the brush. And I'm going to go to about this brush and change the name to thin grid paper. Done. What want to do is I'm going to make a grid paper which is a bit thicker than this. This is quite narrow. What you want to do is go to your brush and press Duplicate. Go into the brush, go into grain. Interest in scale, or just make it slightly bigger. You see him gone bigger grids now, going to about this brush and just change this into white paper. Click Done. If I go into my white grid paper brush now, you can see the brushes are a lot wider. 5. How To Create A Polka Dot Brush: We're now going to create is a polka dot brush. These small circles, as well as polka dot brush. The next paper that we went to create is a polka dot paper. Again, we're starting with our square canvas. And you went to go into your settings and go into drawing guide and click Yes. And we just wanted to again Edit Drawing Guide and make it as big as possible. Press Done. What I want to do is I want to make sure my brush is black. Again, go into the monoline brush. All I'm going to do is create a tiny circle in the middle. What I'm going to hold down, it makes it into a perfect circle. I'm just going to fill this. What you want to do is click on your Move button. If you click on snapping down here and put the snapping is on. Now when I move it, you can see when it goes right to the center, it creates this orange line which intersects. It makes it really easy to see where the center is. We can see that this is a center. I'm just going to click gotten. Now I want to do is I went to go back into my layer and click a new layer, go into the white color and press Fill Layer, mother underneath. Then match down. Then I just want to copy this layer. Again. I want to go into my brush again and press Duplicate for the monoline brush. Then I went to go into the properties. I went to go into green again plus adi, plus input and press paste. Then I want to make sure I invert this by just double-clicking. Press Done. Now if I go into again integrating, instead of moving, I want to move it to texturize. And I went to put the scale down. This way. What I wanted to do is just put the scale smaller. I wanted to go into the properties and put the brush behavior at the maximum size as full. And you can see here they've got polka dot brush. And then I want to go to About this brush. And I just wanted to change this to polka dot brush. Then again, I'm just going to sign this. And then click. Done. Here is our polka dot brush. I'm just going to create a new layer. Switch off the drawing guide. Make sure we're in our pocket. Brush and change the color to black. Put the brush as fully size. Here. We've just got polka dot paper. Assuming. You can see we've got our paper here. Again, this is super simple and easy to do. Next one to do is I want to create a Poka job paper where the circles that are a bit thicker I want to do again is just go into a square canvas again. Blank square canvas against switch on the drawing guide. I want to make sure that the brush is set to black and go into the room and go into my monoline brush. I'm going to do is just create a big circle is because I can, I'm going to do again to make sure this is a perfect circle. Just hold down. Procreate automatically creates this circle for you. Then you want to go to your Move Tool. Go into snapping again. Just make sure it's right in the middle. So you can see here, this is right in the middle. And just fill this. We didn't want to do is click on a new layer, change the color to white. I'm press Fill Layer, put this layer underneath the giant pagoda, which is graded, and go into your pocket that layer and click marched out. Then again, entrepeneurs copy. Then I want to go into the brush onto go into mono line. Just duplicate this. I want to go into green, press, press important and press paste. Then I just want to invert this press Done. I want to go into great behavior. And instead of moving past textualized, then want to go into Properties. And under Brush behavior, click Maximum Size. And then I'm going to go back into gray. And for the scale, I just want to exhibit smaller. You can see here how there are a lot thicker than our previous polka dots. This drawing pad is just really useful just to test the brush and see what it will look like in procreate. I'm happy with this. I might just make it a tiny bit smaller. Then I'm just going to go to About this brush, change the name into thick polka dots. Paper. Then just sign this click done. You can see here we've got thick polka dot paper. I just create a new layer. I just use my brush. Automatically create a thick polka dot paper. This thick dots. 6. How To Create A Checkered Paper Brush: A brush when I went to create, is this checked paper brush. Next paper that we want to create is a checked paper. We want to click. We want to start off with a square canvas. Want to go into our settings and click drawing guide. Make sure we've got this grid. Once you go into a brush and just change it to black, make sure we're on the monoline brush. I wanted to just click on the layer and make sure that drawing assist is on. This just makes it easy for us to make straight lines. What I want to do is just create a line down the middle here, at the top here. And I'm going to fill in these opposite squares. Want to go into the layer and create a new layer. Go into the white color, click Fill Layer, put this underneath, go into the first layer that we created and click Image DOB, press copy. We want to go into the brush and duplicate this monoline brush again. Click on the brush, go into Grain, Edit, Import and press paste. Then we want to click done. You want to change it from moving to textualized again. We want to turn the scale down. You can see here, put the scale up. You get really big checked boxes. If I turn it down, slow smaller. Again, I went to go into Properties, make sure the brush behavior maximum size is max. Then I wanted to go into About this brush, just changed their name. Checked paper sign. We just wanted to make sure you do is very since made by you can just put your name here. I forgot to do that. And here you can just click on that. You can just import photo as well. This just makes sure that if you create brushes descend on Etsy, for example, that everyone knows that this brush was questioned by you. Even if someone does try to sell your brushes as their own. If you go into about, About this brush, make sure you fill this section in. Everyone will know that it was made by another person, such as yourself. Again, I'm just going to do is click Done. See we've got checked paper line here. I just want to do is click on a new layer. Go into my brush, changed black, and you can make it into any color to be honest. So for example, if I go into pink here, you can see you've got pink checked paper. If I increase the brush size, automatically just fills up paper. If I change it to black, it changes it to black. You can just really play around with their changes sizes for to have a big or how small. 7. How To Create Outline Brushes: In the next going to learn is how to create to outline brushes. First one, just being a simple outline brush like this. Second one is a more textured outline brush. Next. So what we're now going to do is learn how to create a simple outline brush. The first thing we want to do is make sure the color is set to black. Again, we're working on a square canvas. And you wanted to go into your brush and go into calligraphy and click the middle line brush. You want to do is you want to duplicate this and then duplicate again. Then you went to slide to the right on both of the duplicates that you created. And click up here to combine. Then you want to click on this brush that you just combined. See up here you've got two lines. So what you want to do is you want to click on the line and you can see under here it says combined mode normal. We want to change this to difference. Like so. Then what we want to do is we want to go into the primary. We went to go into properties and go into maximum size. And just increase this. As you can see, as we increase, the first-line just gets bigger. If I decrease, it becomes smaller. You can play around with this and make it as big or as small as you'd like. I'm going to leave it here. That's it for this brush we want to do is go into About this brush and change this name. Outline brush. Just sign it. And click Done. We've got our brush here. We're just going to test out now. You can see here is our brush. Got a nice outline. What you want to do is because for these intersections, the brush does not accommodate for them. What I'm going to do is to click on my eraser and just erase these. So the next part that we want to create is the same outline brush but with a twist. I'm going to do is I'm going to go into my brushes. And I'm just going to duplicate this outline bars that we just created. And then I'm going to click on it. Then while to do is I'm going to click on this second brush down here that I want to go into Grain, go into Edit, and go into Import, go into Source Library. And what procreate does is it, is, it gives us quite a lot and designs here. What we want is just to choose one of these designs. I think I'm going to choose this diagonal print up here. And then I'm going to click done. You can see here just changes the graying of the second line. It looks a bit more textualized. You can just change this, change this around. So again, if I went to Edit Import Source Library and I decided I wanted to be a sort of grid shape, clicked on like a good shape. Now, again, Edit Import Source Library. If you decide, okay, you want a sort of polka dot. Click on this one. You see a social, a dotted line. I'm just going to go back to our first one, the diagonal. And that's our textualized outline brush created. Again, you can go into the first one. You can go into the properties and make it smaller. If you wanted, you can make it bigger. You can really just play around with this and choose what you like. Then I just want to go to about this brush and just change the name. Outline, texture, brush, click Done. And we're just going to test it out. This is our brush. You can see we've got a nice texture to it. 8. How To Create Stamp Brushes: We next come to learn is how to create this stamp brush as well as this heart stamp. Next going to learn is how to create a stamp brush. The first thing I want to do is I'm going to create a flower stamp brush. What I'm going to do is click on the wrench tool and click Drawing Guide on. Click edit drawing guide. Go into symmetry down here and click Options and change it to radial. And click Done. I want to make sure I'm in my monoline brush. I'm just going to do is just create some petals here. I'm just going to fill this in and just leave this blank because I liked the way that he looks. What I'm gonna do is click on a new layer, go into the white color. Press Fill Layer, put this underneath, go into layer one and press Merge Down and press Copy. Then I went to go into the mono line brush and press Duplicate. Go into the monoline. This time what I want to do is I want to go into shape. I went to press Edit and I went to press Import and then press paste. And then I just want to invert this press Done. What you want to do is I'm going to go into Properties. Click maximum behavior as the fullest. One X12 is I want to go to Stroke Path and interest in spacing. You can see here is that 17. And because, because 17 in the quite close together our shapes, It's what you want to do is you want to just increase the spacing. So you can see as we increase, the flowers get farther and farther away from each other. Again, you can play around with this. And if you want your flowers to be closer together, you can just put the spacing down. I like it pretty spaced out. I'm gonna put it at 90%. You can see here we've got our flowers. Again, I'm actually going to about this brush, change the name to flower stamp in the properties and just sign. Then if I go into shape, if I go into scatter, if I change the scatter, what it does is it makes these a bit more random. So instead of it being in the same direction, it just changes slightly, go into rotation. I just changed them slightly as well. Just change this. It just makes it a bit more random. I just want to click done. You can see here we've got our flower stamp. If I click on my stamp, you can see I've got our flower stamp. If I decrease the size of the brush. You can see we've got a sort of flowery texture here. You can increase the size, dot them wherever you want. You can also go into color and change the color. For example, I want to change the pink. It's a really simple and easy technique for creating stamps. One X1 to do is I want to create a more handmade sort of stamp. I'm going to create a hot. What I want to make sure is that my brush is on black. In the monoline brush. I'm just going to do is just hand-drawn half drop shape here. It doesn't have to be a 100% at Cuba because this is hand-drawn. Supposed to look like it's hand-drawn. But that's not the best attempt. I just wanted to make it slightly more hand-drawn. No, I'm not. I'm just going to fill this. This is our shape. What I want to do is create a new layer, go into the white color, press Fill layer is underneath. Go into our original layer and click Match down and press Copy. Go into the brush, and duplicate this monoline brush. Click on the brush, go into shape and click Edit, Import, Paste. And I went to invert this. Done. Then I went to go into stroke. And under spacing. I'm just going to make it spaced out as I can. And then you went to go into properties and into brush behavior. And for brush behavior, click on the maximum size. You could make it a bit smaller if you want it. I'm going to make it the maximum size. Then go into stroke both again. Under spacing, you can just play around with this. You can space it out, make it close together. I'm going to leave it here. Then I went to go into shape under scatter, just going to just changes slightly. You can see here they changed direction. And this just makes it a bit more random. If you are trying to create a sort of pattern. My oldest, same direction. I'm just going to play around with this until I'm happy. I collect this. And under rotation, if you just change the rotation, some of them just rotate around. Again, just makes it look more random and not so perfect. Then if you go to About this brush, rename this stamp. Just fill in all of the bisections. Click Done. This is our heart stamp. I wanted to do is if I click on the heart stamp and if you go into properties, and if you come to use stamp preview and put those on press Done, you can see this. Here. It just shows the actual shape. Instead of showing the line, it will show the shape they supposed to be. So that's our heart shape. So what we're gonna do is just click on a new layer, go into my heart stamp. For example, I want to change it to red color. Increase the size of my brush. Stamp. Increase the size. A bit smaller. You see a pattern. I'm just wanted to achieve because, because quite a few of them look a bit upside down and I'm just going to go into the heart stamp into shape under scatter. Just going to change slightly under Scott. I'm just gonna make it a bit more. Most of them right-side-up. Change for the rotation down slightly. Click Done. You can see here hot stamp. 9. How To Create Geometric Shape Brushes: I'm just going to show you now how to create some simple geometric shapes. I'll teach you how to create a circle stamp like so. And a filled circle stamp. And using this technique, you'll be able to create all of the different shapes such as squares. And a rectangle. We're going to learn is how to create some simple stamp shapes. And especially for digital planning, stamp shapes can come in really useful. The best thing I'm gonna do is I'm going to create a circle stamp. I want to change my color to black, go into calligraphy and click on the monoline brush. I'm going to do is just draw a circle. And if I hold down with two of my fingers on the left hand, procreate automatically creates this perfect circle shape for us. I'm going to add a new layer. Change my brush tool. I'll press folio, move this underneath, merge this down, and then press Copy. Then I went to go to the brush, go into the monoline brush, duplicate this shape, go into Edit, going to import and press paste. Then I just wanted to double-click an inverter. Then I want to click Done. Then I wanted to go into stroke, but I want to increase the spacing for this one. Then I want to also go into Properties and change the brush size to maximum size. You can see here we've got spaced out circle brush. It looks very small Now, that's fine. I wanted to do is just change the name. Outline. Click done. And what I want to do again, we can click on this, go to Properties and click, use stamp preview and click done that way. Our circle preview comes up and looking at our brushes, I'm going to do just test my brush out, increase my brush size. See here, we've got our circle outline. We're next going to do is create a filled-in circle stamp. What I want to do is change the color to black. And I went to go into that circle outline stamp that I just created. I want to win digits. Just make it a bit bigger. Then I'm just going to fill this in. Then I'm just going to add a new layer, change my brush to white, fill this layer. If this underneath and click Merge Down, press Copy, then I'm going to just duplicate this circle outline. Go to the duplicate, go into the shape and click, Edit, Import and press paste. And click. For example, I wanted to sell this whole Brush Library on Etsy, or you're going to do is just click on this and click Share. What you can do is you can save it to Files. And once you've saved it to fires on Etsy to create a new digital listing for Etsy, you'd have to you'd have to attach this procreate brush set file to your listing automatically, your customers will have access to it. I've created some of these shapes already for you. I've created a circle and some rectangles and squares and triangles. And some of the shapes that we created in our course, for example, our stamps of flour stamp. And I've also provided them the lined paper that we created as well. I'm going to do is I'm going to attach this brush library that we created to this course. You can use it to create your planners, or we can use it just to figure out how stamps work. But ideally, please try to create your own staff and tell me in the discussion box below what you've created and how you found this course. Both of these paper textures that we created down here. If you would like to purchase these, I will provide a link to my Etsy shop. But again, these are really simple to make. Please try and make these yourselves because they don't take long. This is super useful technique to learn, especially when it comes to procreate and digital planning. I hope you enjoyed this course. Thank you for watching.
