1. Introduction to the Course: Hello, and welcome to this class on designing beautiful greeting cards using Vista Create. In this course, you'll learn how to confidently create eye catching greeting cards for any occasion, whether it's a birthday, holiday celebration or personal messes. We'll start by getting familiar with the Vista Create interface first and understanding the key tools you'll be using. Then you'll learn how to plan your layout properly using simple placeholders so your designs look clean and well balanced from the beginning. From there, we'll explore how to add graphics, customize textiles, work with backgrounds and shapes and apply effects to give your card a polished professional finish. Finally, I'll show you how to export your design in the right format for print or for digital sharing. This class is big enough friendly and you don't need any prior design experience to follow along. By the end of this course, you'll have created your own custom greeting card and gain the confidence to design many more in the future. So let's get started. 2. Getting Started with VistaCreate: So in order to go ahead and utilize Vista Create to create greeting cards, you need to have a Vista Create account, and you need to access Vista Create, of course. And to access isterCreate on the browser of your choice, you can simply go ahead and type in vista create.com and press Enter, and you basically get onto the homepage that you see right here. So now what you need to do is you need to sign up for an account, a free account in order to start creating your greeting card. So I'm going to go ahead and click on Start Designing right here. So now you can see that create an account is an option. Let me just go ahead and click. And then it gives me different options to go ahead and create an account. So over here, you can see that you can create an account with email, the traditional way, or you can just sign up with one of these social media accounts that you have. So let me just go ahead and click on Sign Up with Google. This is what I'm going to do here. And then once I go ahead and click it and then click on Continue R here, just like this, then what happens is that a new account will be created right here. So once this is done, I can go ahead and choose which line of work I'm actually working with. So let me just select education in my case and click on Save. And then you get onto the pace with Visa Create. So let me just allow the notification route here as well. And over here you can see that immediately I have an account here because I have uh, sign up with a Google account. So now, over here, you can see that this is the homepage of Wise Create. It's a web application that you can easily stop designing with. So here you can see that I can access out various preset formats here. And for greeting cards right here, I need to go ahead and select print ready. Um, I can go ahead and select print ready presets rat here. So here you can see that there's different sort of presets that you can go ahead. So preset sizes that is. We are going to go ahead and create everything from scratch. If you want to create out using template and just edit out what there's in the template, you can use the template as well, but that is not what we're going to do. And here you can see that there's this card as a print ready size template rot here. So let me just go ahead and click R here, and you can see the size here. You can choose different size as you want. Uh, I just want to utilize what I have right here, just like this. So this is fine. And you can see that this is a greeting card format. So I can go ahead and click on Blank Card to create it from Blank R here. Let me just go ahead close, and this is what you have right here. So now, um, in the homepage, as I selected it, you can see Bowe templates is an option as well. If you were to click on Browse templates for that particular size of the card here, you would see different templates right here. But anyways, I'm going to close that because I'm creating one from scratch. And this is the interface that you see in Vista Create. So this is the main canvas where you add in your content. Let's say, for example, you can go ahead and add in different objects and shapes by clicking and dragging it, by resizing it, you can add in text and so forth right here. And that is what we're going to work around with as we are progressing through the course on creating a greeting card. So here you can see that you can access out templates here. Again, if you want to, you can access out your uploads from this section. You can access out different photos from this section or sets from different photos that you can use for free. You can even add in videos if you want to. You can add in music, if you're creating animated, let's say, greeting cards here. And you can go to Object to set for different objects that you want to add in. You can see different backgrounds here. Can see different text options and textles that you can choose from here. There's different styles that you can actually go ahead and apply as well and even work around with brand kits. And then if you have favorite items that you have from your design that you want to use in the future, you can go ahead and add it to your favorites. And you can see that there are different AI tools that you can use as well. But for that, you do need to have the premium version. So this is what you have right here, and then for our design, we're going to go ahead and create a greeting card for Easter. So let me just go ahead and add in a text. Let's say, for example, so I can go ahead and add in element right here. As I click on it, text is added in. So let's say I'm going to go ahead and say happy Easter right here, just like this. So this is what you have right here. And now what we're going to simply do is add in different elements as needed to go ahead and create a Easter greeting card that we can go ahead and print out or share online as we please. So this is what we have, and in the next video, we're going to go ahead and see how we can go ahead and then choose the right type of contents so that we can start creating out the card as needed. 3. Planning Your Greeting Card: We now have our new project here, and we can start designing. But before you actually get into the actual design, it's a good idea to actually go ahead and brainstorm what you want before you add in all of the fancy graphics and colors. So the messes Happy Easter is already here. Let's say this is exactly what I want. But let's say I want it in another line. So over here in the text box, let me just press Enter in between the words, and it will go to the next line. Let me just resize it and place it on the center right here. So we got a basic message right here. Apart from that, let's say, for example, I want to go ahead and add in a message right here on the bottom, as well, which is supposed to be in a text format as well. So to do that, I'm going to go to text and add in a text R here. So over here, let's say, I'm going to type in a message, hissing, joy, joy and renewal. Let's say, for example, right here, is sing Joy and renewal. Let's just go ahead and resize the textbox here just like this. And as I do that, I can go ahead and then click and drag to resize it. And let me just go ahead and keep it over here on the bottom. I'm not going to go ahead and worry about any graphics or anything else right now. Let's say, on the side, I want to add in some kind of a pattern. So I'm just going to go ahead and add in, let's say, for example, some shapes right here as a placeholder right here. So let's just go for a square sheet, and let me just go ahead right here, put it right here, drag it out right here and drag it on the side, right here, just like this. So let's just go ahead and drag to fill up the left side. So here I want something like a pattern, and we're going to search for different patterns later on. Let me just go ahead and right click and duplicate the sap as well and then drag it onto the side. So now, you can see that I got a basic layout. Let's say I want to resize out my text ra here just like this and keep it on the center. So once this is done, let's say, over here in between, now I want bunny and on the side, I want flowers and so forth. So for that, let me just go ahead and drag in. Let's say, for example, this obelsp as I click on sap, there's the obilsp. So let's say this is going to the egg right here. So I'm just creating a wire frame first before actually throwing in designs and other fancy graphics in it. So apart from that, let's say there are different sort of saps, as you can see here. This kind of looks like flowers, so I'm just going to go ahead here and keep some flowers right here. So let's just go around over here. And let me just go ahead and duplicate it. Keep the flower around over here, just like this, as well. It doesn't have to be exactly symmetric right here. So these are the placeholder for flowers. And let's say over here on the side of the egg, I do want a bunny itself. So let's just use the circular save for this one as a placeholder, and then I'm going to go ahead and push it forward here. And maybe I want to change the color of this here so that it is distinct, that it's a place for the bunny. So let's just go ahead and change this out here. So this is basically our layout right here, which is ready. And let's say this is what I want, and these are the graphics that I'll be happy with. So now, as our basic wireframe is ready, as we move along now, we're going to go ahead and add in different graphics as necessary and then turn it into a proper greeting card with different sort of effects. That looks wonderful. 4. Adding in Graphics in Placeholder Areas: Now that our layout is decided, let's just go ahead and replace the placeholders that we have with actual graphics. So to do that, let me just go ahead onto the left hand side onto objects. So here, what I can actually do is I can go ahead and search for different components as I like. So, let's say, for example, if I were to type in Easter egg right here and press Enter, then you'll see different Easter eggs here, just like this. The one with the diamond are the premium ones, while the one without are the free ones to use. So let's say I want this one. So I'm just going to go ahead and click and you can see that the graphics loads. Let me just go ahead in the placeholder section right here, just like this, as you can see, right here. But I cannot actually see right here. I cannot see the other placeholders. So for that, you can actually utilize the move layer. So I can go ahead and then, let's say, for example, send to back rat here, send backward, send backward. And you can see that as I do that, it pushes it back, um, uh, more compared to other layers. But this is just a placeholder, so let me select it and delete it, and you got the Easter egg right here. Apart from that, over here, I want the Easter bunny. So let's just go ahead and search for Easter bunny here. And you can see that there's different Easter bunnies that you get. So you can go ahead and choose the one you like. So let's say I want this one. So let's just go ahead and click on it, and then you can see that it loads up. Let me just go ahead right here, resize it out accordingly right here. And then select this and delete it out. And there you go. There's the Easter bunny right here. Apart from that, now I want flowers. So let's just go ahead and go for flowers right here. And there's different sort of flowers that we can bring in, as you can see. So this is what you have. So let's say I want this type of flower, so let's just go ahead and click. And then this is what I want. So this is basically the flower that I want. So I'm just going to go around over here. And then I'm going to send it to back, select out the placeholder, delete it out. And you can see that it looks wonderful right here. Let's say I want to go ahead and duplicate this flower itself. I'm simply going to right click Duplicate right here, and then this is what you have as you can see, you can go ahead and resize it out a bit right here. Let's not crop it out. You can even rotate it out a bit right here so that it looks different. And now I'm simply going to go around over here and send it to back here. Send backward here, select this and delete it out. This is what you have as you can see, and then these are the places where I want to add in patterns. So for that, I'm going to go around over here and type in pattern, let's say, for example, and there's different sort of patterns you can bring in. Let's say I want this one, so let's just go ahead and click. And then I'm just going to go ahead and resize this out a bit here and add in the pattern t here. I can even press Control C and Control V to duplicate out the pattern right here, just like this. Control C and V, and this is what you have. Now I'm going to hold CIF to select out all of them together, press Control C and V and drag them out right here on the side. So you got the pattern as well. So over here, let's say, I don't want the placeholder anymore. So let's just go ahead on to move layer, send two back, select this out and delete. And I'm going to do the same for this. I'm just going to go around, send two back and then select it and delete. And you can see that immediately, it starts to look interesting. So with the sap rot here, you can see that you can even change the fill color. So you can go ahead and change this out as you can see, so you can go for more of a red color rot here. And there's two colours here. So you can go ahead and suza the colors as you want. So let's just go ahead and select out orange itself, orange and red, and this is what you have. So apart from that, let me just go ahead and delete these patterns out again and then paste it out right here. Just like this again. So let's just go around over here, click and drag it right here, keep it just like this. And I'm going to press Control C and again, and then go ahead and click it right here. So there's the other pattern. So let's just go ahead and then copy and paste this out right here. Just like this. So let's just go ahead and use the arochis to bring it out. Keep it right here. So let's just go around over here. And there you go. I'm going to press Control C and V right here, and then I'm going to go ahead and overlap the pattern right here, just like this as well. So you can see that I got the color teens and so forth, just like this. So this is one way to bring up the graphics. But let's say, you want to upload out your own graphics as well. If that is the case, then you can actually go to uploads. Then click on Upload Image or video. Then you can navigate to the folder where you have your files, you can simply select it. Click on Upload here, and the files will be uploaded here. Just like this. So you can see that it is being uploaded here, and let's say I want to replace this egg with this egg rat here. The bunny is even better. Let's say, for example, so I can simply click and the egg will be loaded out, as you can see, let me just press Control jet because I accidentally dropped it. So let's just go ahead and resize it, place it out right here. And I'm simply going to go ahead and send this backward rat here just like this and then select this egg delete it. Similarly, I'm going to delete out the bunny. Let's just go ahead and bring in this bunny rat here, which is much more cheerful, as you can see right here. For the flowers, let's say, I don't want to add this flower, this flower is okay itself. So you can see that I got the basic layout of the greeting card ready now. So now next we can go ahead and stylize the text. And then we're going to go ahead and add in some gradient backgrounds as well as needed. An interesting background as well. So that is what we're going to do in the upcoming video. 5. Create Changing Text Style: So now that we have added in the graphics in our greeting card, let's go ahead and format out the text so that it looks interesting. So here it says happy Easter, but let's say I want to add in text in an interesting way. So for that, I can go to the text section, and here you can actually see that there are different presets of texts that you can use as well. For example, you can see that there's this one, there's this one here, different styles of text, the presets that you can choose from rat here. So for the main message happy Easter, let's just go ahead and delete out the default and use the one from here. So I'm just going to go around and let's say, for example, use this one. As I click on it, you can see that this text loads up. There's young wow and free as you can see here. So you can go ahead and use this if you want to, or if you want other one, let's say, for example, like this one, you can go ahead and click, and that is added in round over here as well. So now, these are actually separate like, let's say, for example, text boxes. You can delete them out right here and then resize it out right here, just like this and keep it on the top. So here, what I'm going to type is, let's say, in all caps, I'm going to type in happy R here. Let me just go ahead and pull out the text that textbox so that there's some space. So this is what I have. And I'm going to go ahead and resize the text out here. And let me just go ahead and move the text box here, just like this. And for this one, I'm going to see Easter. So EASD E R right here. Go ahead, and then I'm going to go ahead and pull this out, resize it out, and you can see that there you go. There's Easter. You can go ahead and resize and place it right here. You can see that the flour seems to be getting in the way, so let's just go ahead and push the flowers aside a bit, right here. And then I'm going to go ahead and drag this down. So this is what I have. I can hold Sif to select both of the text, and then I can bring it down right here. So now I can actually select this and then go to the text color and change it to the color that I want, as well. So let's just go around for more like an orange color here. This is the color code, as you can see, so let me just go ahead and copy it, and then over here, I'm going to go ahead and paste the color code to reflect it out. So let's just go around over here and paste the color code here just like this. Press Enter, and that color code gets applied. Apart from that, you can also take the sampler tool right here and then simply take a sample right here to apply the same color if you want to as well. Let's just go ahead, select the Easter, use the rakes to move it a bit down, just like this, and this is what you have. So now, apart from that, for whissingjoy and renewal, I want to go ahead and change it to a handwriting like font. So I'm not going to use the presets that I see right here. I'm just going to go ahead and make the changes manually. So for that, I can click in select this text here. And then, let's say, I double clicked and select selected all. So now I can go to the font section rot here and select out a more handwriting font rot here. So this is a bit two style, so let's just go around and select another one rot here. This one seems a bit better, or you can go for this one rat here. And there's different sort of styles, as you can see. This one is a bit light. It looks like handwritten as we want and so forth, as you can see. So now I can go around over here and then select this out, and maybe I can go around and change the color of this as well. So I'm just going to go around on the text right here, go around and take a sample, and let's say, I'm going to utilize this color right here. So I can pull this out right here, just like this to resize it out and place it right here, just like this. And this is basically how you can go ahead and chans out the textile as you like. So now we're going to go ahead and move further in the next video and then make change to the graphics as we need, as well. 6. Adding Background and Shapes: Far, we have designed the greeting card until here. But let's say, I want to make a few tweaks to it. For example, this flower is touching the Era here, so let's just go ahead and move it right around over here. So you can make such adjustments as many times as you want. But apart from that, let's say, I want to go ahead and add in some background. H some interesting background so that it doesn't look so plain. So for that, I'm going to go to the background section. And here you can see that there's different backgrounds that you can add in. You can even go for colors and apply out flat color backgrounds here and use the colors from the image as well. And then you can actually go ahead and add in video backgrounds as well, just like this if you want a moving background. But in my case, I want a static greeting card, so I'm just going to go around over here. And go for photos. So let's just go ahead and scroll down until I see a type of a background I one. So there's different sort of backgrounds like, let's say, for example, these ones, as you can see, which is quite light. You can go for this one, as you can see, but I do want a background in which I can actually read my lettuce. So I'm just going to go around over here and let's say, for example, select this one and so forth. The one with the diamond are uh, the premium one. So I'm just going to go ahead and select this one, let's say, for example, or let's say, for example, this one right here. So you can see that there's many different sort of backgrounds that you can actually select from. You can make it much more shuttle, as well. So I can go around over here, taint around the opacity so that the background is not popping out too much. So let's say this is what I want right here, so I have the background set. Apart from that, for the patterns, let's say behind it, I do want to insert a shape as well. So to do that, you can simply go around over here onto Object. And then over here in shape, you can click on Show More and select out the shape that you want. You can go ahead and then click and drag this out right here, just like this. And then you can go ahead and click and drag it over here on the bottom. And this is what you have. You got the shape right here, just like this. So now I want to go ahead and then send this to back right here, just like this. So it actually comes up behind the patterns right here. So now I'm going to go around over here onto the fill and choose, let's say, for example, a color that I want. Let's say, for example, this one right here. And for the border, let's just go around and select another color as a light one right here. So let's just go for this one or this one, as you can see. So you can go around and select out a light color. So let me just go ahead and select out more of a yellow color right here, just like this and much more softer color around over here. And then apart from that, I'm going to go around over here onto, let's say, fill and then choose a lighter color right here as well. So this is what I have, and let's say I want to go ahead and then duplicate this. So I'm going to right click duplicate right here and keep it on the rut side as well. So this is what you have. So now I'm going to go ahead and send send to B here, and you can see that it is there as well. Let's just resize out the flowers that I have right here. Just like this. And this is what you have now. So that is basically how you can go ahead and add in some shapes. So let's just add in a simple shape rat here and I'm going to go ahead and let's say, for example, use it as a background for the text. So let's just go ahead and send this to Brat here, just like this. And as I do that, let me just select white color. Let's say, for example, change around the opacity here, just like this as well. So as I do that, you can see that I have some background IMS right here, added in. I got some siefs added in. I got some background Sep here as well, which makes the greeting card much more interesting to look at. So as we move along now, we're going to see how we can refine the design even further and then move towards adding final touches and then finally exporting out our greeting card so that we can share it out with others. 7. Adding Effects: Now let's just go ahead and make the design more interesting by adding in effects. Let's start with the text a here. Once I click on the text, you can see on the top there's effet. Click on it, and then you can go ahead and choose different effects as you wish. For example, you can add an outline color, and you can see that as I add it, it says transparent text. Let's just go ahead and remove it. And then in the outline color, let's just go ahead and add in a darker shade of orange itself. So you can see that it is more distinct. Let's do something with East as well. So let's go to effects, and then you can add in glitch. Let's say, for example, change the size of the glitz right here, and you can see that that is what you have. Or you can change the angle right here, just like this, as well. So you can see that this looks much more interesting. Apart from that, let's start with like, let's work around with the bottom text as well. Add in effects. We can add in an outline or a shadow right here. Or a text box right here, make it curve or let's say, add in a reflection right here. Let's add a reflection to this one, change around the size a bit, change around the distance right here, just like this, as you can see. So this is what you have, and you can change around the transparency level right here, just like this as well. So let's just ans around the distance, and that is what you have. But this is not really looking that greek, so let's just use another effect right here, like a shadow, let's say, for example, teens around the distance, and then teens around let's say, for example, the color of the shadow here and change the blur level of the shadow rot here as well, right here. Change the distance, and you can see that that is what you have, and it can change the angle as well. So this is the effect that you have right here. So apart from that, let's say, I want to teens how, let's say, for example, the flowers look. I can go around over here, go to Edit Imis and then you can see that I can add in different filters so that the flowers look different color. So I can go for, let's say, a brighter one right here or this one or this one right here. So you can change as you want. You can change the brightness as you want, as well. Change around the contrast as you wish as well, and even change the tint as you want right here, just like this to change around the color of the flower as you. Just make this subtle change as well to this one. So let's just go around and change around the tint, and this is what you have. Let's just go with the bunny, as well. So let's just go ahead and choose, let's say, for example, a brighter or a darker bunny. So you can go for a brighter color and other things. You can change the filter intensity as well, and you can see how that actually looks right here. You can even blur it out if you want to right here. So with the background, let's say, I want to blur the background a bit right here, so that it is much more subtle right here, just like this. So this is basically what you have right here, and then we've added in some effects. So let's just go around onto ditims, change around the egg a bit as well, make it much more brighter, and so forth, right here. So this is basically how you can go ahead and add in effects as you wish to tweak out the contents that you have in IST to create. So as we progress along, we're going to go ahead and do some final refining, and then we'll go ahead and export our greeting card in the format that we want. 8. Exporting your Design: So now that our design is ready, it's time to go ahead and export this out so that we can go ahead and print it. Let's say, for example, if you want to share it online, then there are specific formats that you can choose as well. So in order to export this, you can simply go to the Export button right here on the top right hand side. And here you can see that there's different formats that you can instantly download to, like there's PDF Print, there's PDF Standard, PNZ and JPZ for online sharing. Click on Download as and then click on the format here to see more options. You even have Jeff and MP four AdjecNs here. So P and Z is for drawings and flat graphics. JPZ is more for sharings in social media sites when you specially have more detail elements such as pictures. And then in our case, I want to go ahead and print it out, so I'm simply going to select PDF print. And I'm going to add in Crop Marks and bead as well because I want crop Marks and Bad so that I can go ahead and then have a guideline when I print it out. So as I select this, I'm going to go ahead and click on Download and then the file will be downloaded here. No matter which format you choose, it is the same process. Click on it, and then you see the bleed marks right here at the right here. So if I were to go ahead and zoom in, you can see the card right here just like this, which is ready for print as we need it for. So that is how you can go ahead and export out your design. And by saying that we have come to the end of the class. And now it's your turn to create a similar design. And in the next video, I'm going to exactly tell you what you have to do for your class project. 9. Project Description Vistacreate: Now that we have come to the end of this class, it's time for you to do your class project. So for the class project, you'll be designing your own greeting card using Vista Create as we did. For any occasion you like, it doesn't have to be Easter. It can be any occasion in your reason or it can be an international holiday or a particular, let's say, for example, event like birthday, anniversary, a thank you card, or anything that's meaningful to you. So what you need to do is you need to stop by creating a new canvas, of course, so create a new design and plan your layout. So that is add in, um the placeholders, use simple saps as placeholders to sketch out where your images and texts will go first as we did in this course. And this step actually helps you organize your design before adding final elements. So next, replace those particular placeholders with graphics from the library as we did. So we added in, let's say, the textures here, different graphics. We can add in your own graphics as you want, as well, and so forth. So replace those placeholders with graphics from the library or upload out your own image if you prefer. I leave that up to you. And then, of course, add in your main reading messages as well. For example, I've written, we sing you Joy and renewal. You can go ahead and add in whatever you want. Add this out the font, add out effects to it, change out its color, or experiment out with the preset text that you have here as well. You can even utilize these if you want to, and then get the style that you want. And find a look that actually matches to your chosen occasion. After that, make sure to choose a background as well. Make the background interesting, choose a particular background color only if you want to, and also make sure to add in decorative shapes if needed to enhance your design as well. You can also apply effects to your images that you have brought here or text to give your card a more polished and professional finish. And once you're happy with your design, exported as a JPZ or a PNZ or a PDF format as what you need. And when you're done, upload your final greeting card to the project gallery, and along with a short note describing occasion you designed it for as well. So all the best for it. I'm excited to see what you create. Have fun design.
