For the first lesson, I'll start off by showing you some reference for you to use when drawing human poses. We'll be using these on the next couple of video lessons, but there's a few other ways to go about it that I'll mention the fish example I want to show you. It's this websites reference that sketch daily that net, which is proper for figure drawing, and it's very simple to use. We just come here and choose what you want. Gender closing If you'd like to include nsfw images, type of posts review and how much time before it switches to the next image. Two minutes is usually a good amount, but if you're feeling brave, just go to 30 seconds and keep your sketch loose and fun. You can also choose particular body parts that you'd like to practice with some different options or even animals in this case will stick to figure drawing so we don't have to worry about your other options. For now, another side that you can use his artists that pig so lovely that come and go to the figure and just drawing practice. There's lots of options here to shoes from including nude or decent models, what gender you would like to draw and sessions modes. I usually just use standard modes in about 60 seconds or two minutes before the changes to the next image. Another option is for you to just look for references from magazines, books, paintings, movies or arches that you like, and you use those reference to practice your drawings or when you go out, you can bring a scratch book with you, and when you go for a coffee or for a walk, you can just observe the people around you and sketch the poses. Sketched movements. It's a great way for you to practice your drawing skills and happily improved to real life observation. Try and take 10 20 minutes a day for some just drawing. It's really good to warm up, and your hand gets used to the movement. That's pretty much it for the first video, and I'll catch you right after with some hands on sketching Syrian of it
3. Sketching Time: Hello again. Welcome to the second video. Off the class will be speaking about sketching and the fundamentals of how we start doing it. We'll start with baby steps and go on from there. The first thing I would like to sell Cobalt is the line of action. The window for action is really important for drawing your character and drawing. Oppose. It's a key element for making the dynamic character. Imagine the line that goes down your characters. Fine. You look at the image and here's my line affection. This is a movement, a movement captured when I look at this image, another example here. This is a really good exercise to do. It will help you a lot. You just look at the new image, something in a movie or a person walking by. You just show the life it captures the movements off who you're looking at. Just try to make a line that translates the movement off the image to you. Keep it loose. Don't think too much about just focus on capturing the general movement. An important thing to remember about just a drawing when designing characters is toe always in sexual ate the lights try to give the lines rights and with a good flow, you can also try the head if it helps you to make it a little bit more human than just a line. Keep going with simple lines, wide arches and angles focusing on the spine until the food or the general balance off the pose. Now that we've done a few lines off action, let's try and go with shapes. Just draw the general shape. Try to capture the bigger part off the image inside it. Focus on the flow from your previous line of action exercise and draw the shape all around it. You can draw the head once again to keep it more human and to fuse. Realize the character. Once you feel you've got the hang of this, you can try and start building up the character. Keep doing shapes for the rest off the body. Arms, legs, torso. Just keep going until you have a few boxes and shapes. Let's start to look like a person. Keep in mind the flow off the image in the line of action. Here's the final sketch off a character I've done with this exercise. We were cleaning it up and get it ready for the MOR finalized version in the next video, so I'll see you in just a bit.
4. Cleaning Up the Sketch: All right, so we're approaching the end off the class, and in this video, we'll deduct me about calling in. Help your sketch. Another tooth culture of sketch made out off shapes. Let's focus on cleaning everything up to make it more human, like just stop drawing lines. Three of previous shapes Keep them loose and trying to make them as steady as you can. Don't worry too much about messing them up. Relax and keep them loose. Big long lines from one point to another if you're under B C, just drawing another layer on top of your previous sketch. If you're doing this the traditional way with a pencil and paper, then switch to pen for these more final mines and you can clean the previous lines later. Are you some vegetal paper and draw on top of your sketch? Keep going, focusing on straight and good of lights. Loose lines from one point to another. Take your time and don't rush it. The important thing about this exercise is that you have fun while doing it. Keep your wrists relaxed and loose Well, during this, don't try to do small lines over and over again to complete the shape. Just get them long and smooth. It's important to show confidence in your lives. So here's the final version off. Find a dynamic character second from one of those reference images. I usually go with new models, since it's clear to find a line of action and opens up possibilities for character design. Put the settings in standard mold and the time that you feel comfortable drawing. This works best when using two minutes or less. Now just start and do about 5 to 7 sketches off the upcoming preference images. If you feel one off the process is too complicated or you don't like it at all, feel free to skip it. Once you're done with the sketches Big one that you'd like to work on and could not the lights go over them and make it cleaner so it doesn't look as rough. Don't worry if it isn't perfect, we working on our Justin drawing skills not a particular drawing off arms, legs or the anatomy while cleaning it up. Imagine what you could do with that drawing. Perhaps that character will Borquez Abella, dancer or the football player, perhaps even a fighter or a superhero? Let your mind wander and imagine all the possibilities. If you're feeling brave at a few of those details to your character, it doesn't have to be anything over complicated. Maybe just a cape for your superhero or discouraged for your ballot.
