1. Introduction : In this class, you'll learn how to develop a clear vision and an action plan for any goal. Whenever there is some goal that you want to achieve or a dream that you would like to obtain. The journey of going from where you are currently to where you want to be is only going to be 50% action. The other 50% is all mindset and preparation. I'm tearing of fitness and nutrition coach. And the skills that I'm going to share with you in this class are the exact same skills that I use and that have helped countless of other individuals to achieve real results and to find success and not only their fitness journey, but in other aspects of their lives as well. If you want to reach your goals, you're going to need the right mindset, a clear vision, and a great plan to help you get there. Let's get started. 2. Class Project : This class is going to be interactive with action steps for you to take at the end of each lesson, in most of the action steps are going to be journaling activities. So make sure that you have your journal with you as you watch this course, if you prefer. I've also attached a document with the journaling assignments and you can either print it out or work through it digitally. And I'm going to really encourage you to complete the class projects and do all of the action steps. Because by putting in the work now, by the end of this course, you will really have a good foundation of moving forward towards your goals. And as always on Skillshare, be free to share your work. 3. Manifesting What You Want: First let's talk about manifesting your desired results. And I want to be very clear about what manifesting is and isn't manifesting is not the same as wishing or hoping for something when you wish and hope for your dreams. You essentially put the power outside of yourself and it even constantly reinforces your state of lack of that thing that you want that you don't have yet. Manifesting is quite the opposite. And it's empowering because it declares that you are committed to taking action towards your goals. Manifesting is a skill that you already have and use. It just means to create something into reality. It is how you've created your current reality. And so if you'd like to change anything about your current state, you can use different manifesting techniques to help you intentionally alter your reality. And in order to change your reality, you have to start with changes in your mind and that will lead to changes in your actions. If you think about manifesting as creating any process of creation is a combination of thought and action. It's a continuous cycle of thinking thoughts and taking action on those thoughts. And those actions will lead you to new thoughts. And those new thoughts will allow you to take even better actions. And this continuous journey, thought and action over and over will eventually lead you to reaching your goals. So it's really important not to skip any of the mindset work because you're going to need the clarity and the right beliefs and the right ideas to help you get to where you're trying to go. Manifesting is also really important because it helps to remove a lot of the resistance and the self-doubt and the feelings of overwhelm all of those fears that will be obstacles along your journey. And it's really important to remember that nothing will change unless you believe that it can. And that's when manifesting does it prepares your mind to help you to take the action, to get the things that you want. 4. Develop Strong Desires: One of the biggest reasons why people don't succeed in getting what they want is because they just don't want it bad enough. And maybe it's because deep down inside there's some fears and some insecurity there that make us believe that what we want is just not possible. But it's okay to give yourself permission to want something really bad, even if you've never been able to achieve it in the past, even if you don't know anyone personally who has done it before, it's okay to want the things that you want and to have a strong desire for them. In fact, this is talked about a lot in Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich. And he describes it as having a burning white hot desire for the things that you want. Because if you have weak desires, you will produce weak results. And so the trick is to always increase your desires. And so the first step is to just understand your why. And that's going to lead us into the first action step for this class. Why is it that you desire your particular dream or goal? For example, if you want to go on a fitness journey and transform your body, why is it that you desire to go on this journey? Because I guarantee that if you don't understand why you're doing something somewhere along the line, you're going to stop doing it. Then the second question is, what do you intend to give in exchange for the things that you want? So back to the fitness example, if you want to transform your body, what would you intend to give in exchange for your new body? And the answer to that could be working out three times a week and committing to a healthier diet. 5. Clarify Your Vision : The first step to getting what you want is to decide what you want. And that's why throughout this course, we'll do a lot of journaling activities because journaling is a great way to figure it all out. So I want you to just think about the things that you want. No matter if you know whether or not how you will achieve it, or how long it will take for you to achieve. Just imagine yourself obtaining that thing. Take a moment to just freely write about this desire. What do you hope to accomplish? Be specific about the vision that you have for this goal. So let's say your goal is to move into a new home by the end of the summer. What is the home look like? How many rooms does it have? Where is this home located? If your goal is around health and fitness, then what types of exercises do you do? What does your body look like? Are you strong? Are you flexible? Do you eat nutritious foods? Do you drink a lot of water? Acts yourself. How will obtaining this goal make you feel? How will it improve your life? And more importantly, how will it improve the lives of other people in your life as you're writing, just be free. Don t think about grammar. Don t think about how you will obtain this goal or how long it's gonna take for you to achieve it, or if it's even possible at all, it's just time to write and get clarity on the things that you want. 6. Cultivate Positive Self-talk: Along the journey in achieving our goals, it's gonna be really important that we observe what we say when we talk to ourselves. Because self-talk gives us a way to change what we would like to change, even if we haven't been able to make those changes in the past. And it's important to remember that there are two different types of self-talk. There's positive self-talk that serves us, and then there is negative self-talk that obviously doesn't serve us in actually works against us. Negative self-talk starts with things like I can't, or I wish or I don't have statements like this are really low in vibration and they make us question our capabilities. Another type of negative self-talk include statements like I should or ought to. So for example, if you say I should go to the gym, or I ought to eat a salad, or I ought to start working on that business plan, or I ought to start writing that book that I want, or I ought to start looking at new apartments. When you make those types of statements like I should or ought to is almost even worse than saying I can't because it recognizes that there is a problem, but it creates no solution. So if I say, I ought to go to the gym today, but I don't actually go, is going to cause you to be more disappointed in yourself and to have a lack of trust and a lack of confidence because your week going down this negative spiral of knowing that you should do better, but for whatever reason, you just can't get out of the negative spiral. And so we want to really focus on the positive self-talk that serves us. And those types of statements start with, I am, I am statements declares that this is how you choose to be going forward. It declares your decision to change. So if I say I am going to the gym, I am becoming a healthier person. I am working on my new book that I'm writing or I am working on finding a new home, or I am becoming a happier person, whatever your goal is, whatever the thing is that you desire if you start to create, I am statements around the thing that you want. Gonna be so much more powerful than any of the negative self-talk. For this action step, you're going to list three positive I am affirmations surrounding your goal and then read them to yourself each morning. 7. Create a Vision Board : Now let's talk vision boards because this has to be one of my favorite things to do to help me to get clarity on the things that I want. They can also be a great source of inspiration and motivation. And this is a technique that even professional athletes use. The power of visualizing the desired outcomes is super, super powerful. The first step to creating an awesome vision board is to just get some ideas in your mind first. And then you can create your actual vision board, and you can create a physical vision board. However, I prefer to use Pinterest. That way you always have it with you. You can always add new photos to it or change photos as your desires change. For this action step, you're going to create a vision board specifically for your goal. If your goal is to transform your body, then you're going to create a specific vision board for health and fitness. And then find pictures of your body goals of different workout outfits, of quotes, different things that inspire you surrounding that goal. And then you're going to revisit this vision board daily, constantly adding new pictures and getting more and more inspiration as you go along your journey. 8. Practice Gratitude : Now let's talk gratitude because gratitude is needed in the process of goal setting. People who keep gratitude journals are more likely to make progress towards their goals. And maybe it's because practicing gratitude helps you to release a lot of those negative emotions and negative self-talk. We want all positivity in good thoughts surrounding our goals. We spent a lot of time criticizing our imperfections and thinking about changing the things in our lives that were not satisfied with. And so it's a good habit to also take the time to appreciate the things that are actually working for is currently the things that are going good so far. It's too easy to ignore those small little details that we take for granted. But the reality of it is, is that our situation could always be worse, but we want to focus on what's good and what's working so that we can amplify it for this journaling activity, list, three things that you are grateful for in relation to your goal. So for example, if your goal is to make more money, maybe you can be appreciative of the job that you currently have. Maybe you can be appreciative for the money that you have currently, the bank accounts that you have. You can even be grateful for the ideas and the desires to want something bigger and better for yourself. By taking the time to appreciate these things, it is going to bring you closer to that thing that you want. 9. Goal Setting : Now that you have some clarity on the things that you want is time to set some goals. And setting goals is only going to be significant if it inspires and energetic commitment. And that's why it's important to have really detailed goals. Of a goal like I want to make more money, may seem really motivating at first, but will quickly lose steam, because it doesn't really give you a clear understanding to know when you've actually succeeded on the goal. Your goal should be very specific and measurable. Goals can be broken down with this one question. How much? And by when? Remember that vague goals produce vague results. For this action step, you're going to write down your goal in a how much by when statement. And it can look something like this. Instead of saying, I want to lose weight, you can say, I want to fit into my size six genes by this June, once you've written your goal in detail, your subconscious mind will automatically know what to work on to help you achieve this goal. So after you've written it, be sure to reread your goal everyday and don't underestimate the power of revisiting your goal over and over. 10. Build Routines and Systems: So now let's talk about building routines and systems. If goals are the targets that you want to achieve, then systems are the processes that you put in place to help you reach that goal. And it's really simple because when systems are repeated enough, you will produce those desired results. And one tip for building great systems around your goal is to accomplish the toughest tasks early in the day. It really sets the tone for the rest of your day and helps you to be more productive. So achieve those harder things. First, when building a great system, you want to lay out three specific things. What, when and where. Let's say my goal is to fit into my size six genes by this June. Then my what, when and where statement might look something like this. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I'm going to work out at the gym at seven AM. And as a bonus, you also want to include an IF statements, right? Because we know sometimes we fall off of our routines, things come up and we have to be flexible. So it's important to already have some strategies in place for what to do in case of obstacles, being prepared for those obstacles is going to help prevent you from falling off your plans. So let's go back to my original statement. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I'm going to work out at seven AM at the gym. If I miss my workout for any reason, then I will work out after work at 06:00 PM so you can get started on your own. What, where and when statement. That will really help you to build a strong system for achieving your goal. But don't forget to include the if as well, so you can overcome those obstacles. 11. Document Your Journey : Documenting the journey. The interesting thing about progress without documentation is that you can only see where you are today without any record. You can't see how far you've come. And that's why documenting your journey in your journal or with photos and videos is super important. Documenting that only allows you to keep score of your gains and your wins. But it also helps you to learn more about yourself and to learn about the mistakes that you've made in the past and help you to prevent making those same mistakes in the future. It can be really simple and easy to just keep track of your actions in your journal. But we'll maybe even more powerful than just keeping a productivity tracker in your journal is having actual photo and video documentation of your journey. Everyone loves a transformation journey. It's why we love those reality shows like Shark Tank or the biggest loser, or any show that displays people's transformation. We love to see the before and the after. So imagine how powerful it will be for you to witness your own transformation. This is something that I noticed when I started my YouTube channel. I was able to reflect and learn so much about myself because I was able to go back and watch videos of myself. And it can just be really motivating to see how far you've come. And then maybe one of the biggest benefits of documenting your journey is that it allows you to be your own accountability partner. We all know that sometimes accountability partners can be unreliable, but you can hold yourself accountable by maybe making one short video a week, just explaining where you are in the process, showing how much you've achieved so far, or maybe showing yourself as you're working through your goals. For this action step, you're going to go back to your what, where, when and if statements. That's the actions that need to be done. And so now you can build a tracker in your journal, just making a check mark next to every day that you accomplish the task that you set out to do. But it's also a really great time to start taking some pictures and getting some video footage of where you are today when you're starting your journey so that you'll have it for the future. 12. Persist: The only way to transform is through persistence. As long as you don't quit and you continue to grow and learn, you will see results and it's not always going to be easy. Sometimes you will have to persist in the face of obstacles, and I guarantee you there will be obstacles along your journey. It's almost as if the universe will test you to make sure that you really want the thing that you say that you want, there's gonna be lots of obstacles along the way towards getting that. Remember that persistence is easier, stronger desires. So you want to keep adding fuel to the flame. If you find yourself lacking persistence and build a stronger fire under your desires. And a great way to add fuel to those flames is to make the experience more enjoyable. For me with fitness, I'm always looking for ways to make it more enjoyable. Maybe it can be the fact that I'm getting some new workout clothes. They make me feel like I look better. Maybe instead of just training in the gym, I could go to a yoga class or go for a run out in nature, whatever it is you want to find ways to make that experience more enjoyable for this action step, find and list ways that you can make your experience in obtaining your goal more enjoyable. How can you have more fun in obtaining this goal? 13. Take Action Now: Remember that this journey of going from where you are to where you want to be is just a continuous cycle of thought and action. And then one course, one training, one shot at taking action is not gonna be enough. This journey requires constant work and learning and growing. As the saying goes, you can either deal with the pain of the discipline now or you can deal with the pain of regret later. Remember that the future you is dependent on the present you, and then any pain or sacrifice that you experience on your way to obtaining your goal is only temporary, but the benefits will last forever for this action step, there's no journaling assignment is just for you to just get started today. Start today by committing to just ten days of executing on the habits that will get you closer to your goal and make sure that you document yourself along your journey. Feel free to share your experience with the Skillshare community so we can continue to inspire each other. And I wish you the best of luck on achieving your goals. And I thank you for watching this course.
