In this class, you will learn the basics of coloring a portrait using procreate. We will start with simple base colors to build a clean and solid foundations. By the end of this class, you will be to able color portraits with confidence and clarity. This class perfect for beginners who want to start portrait coloring in procreate. 2. Painting Base Colors: In this class, we will color this portrait. At first, open a new layer under the portrait line art and paint the portrait with just one color, like simple one color. But be sure it is not so light or not so dark and use the base color for the dress detail and portrait. And for example, I will make the dress like dark colors, just like this. Yes, like this, and maybe this place will be also darker, just like this. And for the hair, I will use blonde tones, but not so blond, like it will be muted color. Because it is deep portrait, and I don't want to lose details in the really highlights. Just like this, I'm edding the details, and for background, I will use some a really good grass texture here with the simple one color, and this will be same. And these details for making the background much more scenery. And some places you can use really dark tones over your portrait. And for example, for this part, I will use much more darker color because she is in some jungle, and it is really dark if you check the tons. Okay. After you put the base details, open another new layer, and this time, I will add shadows. 3. Painting Shadows: For example, this place will be really dark and this place is dark and checks also will be much more darker, just like this. And some places will be in the light. For example, this nose area and check area just like this. And these parts will be really lighter. And especially this part will be much more lighter. And some places will be in the shadow. For example, this part will be really darker. Just like this. And this place will be dark again. And this place will be in the dark like shadow. Yeah. And I will continue to add detail over the portrait. For example, this part will be darker and this part will be dark, just like this. And this part it is darker and zoom in to the face. And now I will add the lights of the eye, for example, like this and like this. And her eyes will be green. So I zoom in and I put some green color here and here. Then select lip color like dark red and apply over the lip. Yeah. And at some parts, you can use bigger brush size and make the nose and lip also cheeks much more darker. And I will select this color for eyebrow, and I will apply it just like this. And now I will use much more lighter colors and will use lights on the nose and this area, just like this and this area. And these checks will have much more lights and this part, also this part. 4. Painting Details: For example, this part will be much more shadow, just like this and this part. Now I will make this part much more darker, and these parts will be in the shadow. And this part under lip will be in the shadow. And for shadow part, you can make this whole area. This area will be much more darker, just like this. And I will use much more big bright stroke here, just like this. And here, And sometimes you can add much more highlights over the hair, just like this for making it look much more realistic. And it is beginner level painting. So I'm not including any textures over portrait. At chicks, I will add much more lights here just like this to make it much more realistic and detailed. And let's zoom here and make this part much more lighter. And checks will be also much more lighter and these parts. And for dress, I will use lighter color here like this. And in the arms, I will use much more lighter colors. Okay. And for the right side, I will use really deep color just like this. And for left part, I will continue these lines. To built it. So after these details, you zoom into the eye and select darker colors and apply over your eye. For both sides, you need to apply it and select white colors. And apply some highlights for your eye because highlights are really important for the three D look like three D elision in two D. Okay. So there will be light small particles here like this. And these parts of the nose will have some lights, but do it gently, not so Ras a book. 5. Complete Illustration: And maybe this area will be like this. And this time, I will select much more yellow color and will apply over here. Yes, just like this and like this, I will apply over all here, but don't over press your pencil. Because I'm blending colors gently to give it a really realistic look. And for the shadow of the right side, I will add some shadows here and this part, also this part and this part. And also this corner will be in the dark and under eye can be much more dark, and this place maybe again. And for hair, I will use really vibrant and directly white because it gives highlights to the portrait. And I will add some extra orange over portrait and complete this illustration. Hope you enjoy the process and check my other contents for Improve your digital painting in procreate. And at the air, I will add some hair like flower petals at the air, but I will make it much more darker and pink. Just like this and like this. And in here, I will use the same brush here. And I can add some visible highlights for it. You can use some inart brush or different kind of air brush, depends on your choice. Apply some really strong highlights over your port date from the light source. For example, light comes from the right in my painting. So I'm adding the light and also using the same method for the petals and also adding these same details all over the hair for plant it much more better. And hope you enjoy this basic painting in procreatee. Thanks again. Mm hm.
