About This Class

The whole of the Spanish language can be broken down into several different structures. If you take any sentence from any Spanish book or any utterance, you will see that it fits into one of these structures.

I remember one weekend, I was writing some lessons for the week ahead, when I suddenly realised this. I noticed that there are a certain number of structures in Spanish, and that every sentence follows one of these structures. I spent the rest of the weekend working out all the structures, and I wrote them all down.

Every structure you learn gives you the ability to say a huge amount. Some structures are used more than others, but all the structures together make up the whole Spanish language. Once you’ve learnt how a structure works, all you have to do is insert different words into the slots and you have a sentence.

This course introduces you to structure 7. I’ve limited each course to one structure so as not to overburden you. By looking at just one structure at a time, you can really get to grips with it and understand its usage. It will help to clarify the Spanish language and make it more like a reflex rather than something you have to think about as is it were a maths equation.

Each structure can also help to propel you to fluency; if you can manipulate the structures at high speed, you can start to say anything you want without having to thing about how to say it.

This course contains plenty of practice opportunities for you to revise what you’ve learnt and it also contains some hints and tips on how best to learn and memorise the structures and the vocabulary that goes with them. You’ll learn how to make questions out of structure 7, how to make statements and how to turn positive statements negative.

1. Introduction to structure 7: Hello and welcome to the seventh Spanish structure in the building Structures series. In the sixth course, we looked at the conditional version of the infinitive carriers and use them when forming our questions and sentences. Well, in this course, we're going to be looking more in-depth at the conditional tense, aka the conditional mood. The entire Spanish language can be broken down into several different structures. If you take any sentence from any Spanish book or any utterance, you will see that it fits into one of these structures. I developed the building Structures series as a unique way of learning the various sentence structures that exist in the Spanish language. Every structure you learn gives you the ability to say a huge amount. Some structures are used more than others. But all the structures together make up the whole Spanish language. Once you've learnt how a structure works, all you have to do is insert different words into the slots and you have a sentence. This course introduces you to structure seven. The seventh structure, as I said, is where we explore conjugating verbs into the conditional. The conditional is attendance, we've looked at before, but only with infinitive carriers. However, when you conjugate other verbs into the conditional, you can use them to say what would happen. In English, the conditional is as simple as putting the word wood in front of the verb. In Spanish, you have to change the ending of the verb instead. In this course, we'll learn all about forming the conditional with regular verbs and irregular verbs, those that don't follow the rules. We're looking at how it fits into the seventh structure. How to turn it from a question into a non-questions, and how to make this tense negative. Just like when we looked at structure five, we're going to look at ways we can use structure seven with other structures. By putting structures together, we open up a lot more of the language. It allows us to express ourselves even better in Spanish. As always, all the lessons in this course have been broken down into three minute chunks. That way, you can listen to one three-minute Lesson every day without having to eat into your schedule. Obviously, you can watch more than one lesson per day if you wish, but I would recommend that you stop before you want to. You'll get lots of practice questions in this course to really get to grips with this structure. So let's start learning all about structure seven in Spanish. I hope you enjoy gracias 2. 1 - structure 7 outline: Structure seven in Spanish uses the conditional tense to form questions and statements. It consists of just two parts, and here is an example of it's in use. Get go Maria's, Keko Medea. What would you eat is made up of a question word in this instance, get meaning what? Then a conditional verb, come areas, for example, means would you eat? Cake come areas? What would you eat? So the first part of structure seven, as always, is simply a question word. Since we've seen them all many times now, you will already know them. But here they are again, just to refresh your memory. How would you say in Spanish where? Non there. What what time? I came up. When quandl. How? Gamow. Which Y? K. How much? Quanto. How many? Cantos? How long, or how much time? Quanto tempo. Who or whom? Ten. So that's the question words in Spanish. And just like with all the other structures, we can change the question, where do they start without having to touch the rest of the question. We've seen gecko Maria's, Keko, Maria's means what would you eat. So get means what? Well, instead of K, We could say non day, which means where we will get done. The committee has done. They come areas. Where would you eat? Or instead of Don Day, we could have cuando. Cuando commodious means when would you eat? Cuando comer ideas. Say you can see that the rest of the structure doesn't change just because we change the question word. So Keko Medea as they come areas, cuando committee. The committee as part is the same throughout. What would you eat? Where would you eat? When would you eat? So that's the basic outline of structure seven, a question word and then a verb in the conditional 3. 2a - recapping question words and verbs: We've just seen that there are two parts to structure seven in Spanish, the question word and the conditional tense. Let's quickly practice all the question words. How would you say in Spanish, where? Don they, what, what time? Aqiba. When? Cuando. How? Como? Which? Quiet. Why? Portkey? How much? Quanto? How many? Coin toss? How long are literally how much time? Quanto tempo. Who or whom? Ten. So that's the question words, but what is the conditional tense? Well, we've seen the conditional tense before. Remember in structures six, we learned all about the infinitive carriers in the conditional tense. The conditional tense in English is basically the word would. In Spanish, we have to add some letters to the end of the verb to form the conditional. We had infinitive carriers like these in the sixth structure. Megastar, yeah, Meg Osteria, meaning I would like podria. To podria is could you, Darian? Darian. Should they? The endings of those verbs, the ear. Yes and EN, are the endings for the conditional tense. Let me give you a few examples of some ordinary verbs, not infinitive carriers in the conditional tense. I'll include that meanings is that you can see what this tends looks like and what it means. About a year. You're able area. I would speak. Can diarrhea? You can diarrhea. I would think scriptoria, your S-curve area. I would write Comitia, your Commedia. I would eat yeah, Galleria, your YAG area, I would arrive. Have you noticed that all the endings for the conditional tense in Spanish, in those examples and in I, a, with an accent on the I. Well, all the verbs in the conditional tense, when you conjugate them for you, or I will end in the letters 5e with that accent on the I. In fact, we did learn the entire set of endings for the conditional tense when we learned all about structure six. And in the next video, we're going to remind ourselves of that 4. 2b - the conditional: So the set of endings for the conditional tense that we learned in structures six were yeah, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, most EIA's EN EN. So you can see they all start with that I, J, and then you add extra letters for certain persons. And there's always that accent on the letter I here. Yes, er, er, er, er, most. In this EN, EN, all of those endings are actually the same as the endings for the ER and IR verbs in the imperfect tense. The only difference is for the conditional tense, you add these endings to the end of the whole verb. So they'll always be an R on the end of the verb before you add the ending, it all sound will have you to hear the difference between the imperfect tense and the conditional tense. Camila. You Camila means I was eating, whereas Maria. Maria means I would eat. So you can hear Camila, there's no R sound. Whereas camellia, because they all sound in the middle. So you add the endings to the whole verbs. So you have come air, which means to eat, and then you add the ear to the end of that area. Let's have a look at the verb oblongata, which means to speak conjugated into the conditional tense. Am glad you're here. I would speak about as to avoid areas. You would speak? I blurrier and blurrier. He would speak a blurrier. And blurrier. She would speak blurrier. And blurrier. You would speak a blurry Ahmose, nosotros, vamos. We will speak about area is both others are blurry, is you would speak as Marianne. They would speak and upload alien status, oblivion. You would speak. So there is endings for the conditional tense or ear for you. Yes. For two year, for L, for Ada. Yeah, for Ustinov. Emos, for nosotros. Ei is for vosotros, EN for a ofs, and EN for status. And if you just want to remind you of what there is, subject pronouns mean, you is I, two, is U, L, is he, or she will save you. Nosotros. We vosotros you as they and who status you 5. 2c - esperar, comer, vivir: We've just had a reminder of what the endings for the conditional tense are in Spanish. It's er, er, er, er, er, er. Most EIA's EN, EN. And you can talk those endings onto any old verb. So let's have a look at another verb conjugated into the conditional tense. We'll look at the verb esperar, which means to wait. So it goes esperar idea. Your idea. I would wait. Esperar areas to esperar areas. You would wait. S. Bilateria, esperar area. He would wait. Steatorrhea, esperar Maria. She would wait. Esperar area, boosted esperar area. You would wait. Spent or EMOs? Nosotros, esperar EMOs. We would wait. Esperar area is vosotros esperar. You would wait. Esperar. As esperar area. They would wait. And esperar alien status is better than you would wait. We've seen a couple of AR verbs now we had our blood and esperar. Let's have a look at an ER verb in the conditional tense. The verb compare means to eat, and it's conjugated. Go Madea. Madea. I would eat go Maria's to come areas. You would eat chlamydia. Chlamydia. He would eat chlamydia. Chlamydia. She would eat chlamydia. Chlamydia. You would eat area. Most nosotros come area, most. We will eat. Come area is vosotros. Qalmri is you would eat comedian. Comedian. They would eat. And comedian, who status comedian you would eat. Now let's look at an IR verb. The verb BBR means to live in Spanish. And in the conditional tense, we get BBDO, your media. I would live BB areas to be VDS. You would live BBDO, LB media. He would live BBVA, AR dB rhea. She would live BB RIA. Who said DBDR? You would live DVD GMOs, nosotros DVD llamas. We would live BBB is vosotros DVD is you would live the virion. Virion. They would live and BVM status, BBM. You would live 6. 2d - irregulars - salir, tener: Irregular verbs. Now, the conditional is a nice tense in that there aren't too many irregular verbs. However, there are six that I recommend you learn. So let's go through those now. You'll notice that they all still end in the same endings. It's just with irregular verbs. You have to change it slightly before you can add the endings. Let's go through them now. The first four all have something in common that you change the vowel in front of the OH into a D before adding the conditional endings. You'll see what I mean in a moment. Salir means to leave salir, the conditional stem. This is what we add the endings to, is sail, dr. solder. So you can see all we've done is changed the letter I in salir into a D. And then we can add the conditional endings onto that. So we get started 3a, your cell rhea, meaning I would leave South Korea's to salubrious. You would leave South Korea. South Korea. He would leave San Rhea as Andrea. She would leave salad RIA, who said salir. You would leave. Suddenly almost nosotros salary Ahmose. We would leave. Salary is vosotros Salvia is you would leave salary and salary than they would leave. And sovereign status, salary and you would leave. The endings are the same as the normal conditional tense endings. It's just the verb salir changes slightly before you can add the endings, so it's solder. And then we get South Korea, South Korea, South Korea, South Korea, South Korea. Salivary Ahmose, salary is salary and salary on. The next irregular verb is then air. Meanings to have. The conditional stem for ten, air is tender. So all we do is change the E in front of the are two with D, just like we did with salir. So we get ten. Rhea rhea, I would have then react to the Andrea's. You would have Andrea? Andrea. He would have then rhea, a yacht Andrea. She would have the Andrea. Andrea. You would have then Ramos. Nosotros ten Ramos. We would have then three is vosotros ten raise. You would have ten area AOC than rayon. They would have. Then I will say this dendrogram, you would have. So again, you can see that the endings are the same as the normal endings for the conditional tense. It's just you have to change ten to ten before you can add them. Then 3a, then various, the Andrea, Andrea, Andrea, then Ramos, then three is dendrogram. Dendrogram 7. 2e - irregulars - poner, venir: The next irregular verb in the conditional is Bon air, which means to put, just like with ten air to get the conditional stem, or you have to do is change the E into a D. So you get ponder. In the conditional tense, then you get 8b Andrea, you up Andrea. Which means I would put boundary is to ponder as you would put Andrea. Andrea. He would put Andrea. Andrea. She would put Andrea. Andrea. You would put upon Ramos nosotros panoramas. We would put boundary is muscle correspond via is you would put Mondrian. Mondrian. They would put Mondrian who status boundary and you would put its Pon, Pon, Pon, Pon rehab. Andrea. Andrea, most boundary is Mondrian. Mondrian. The next irregular verb is venir, which means to come again, or you have to do is change the I in front of the are into a, D. And then you have the conditional stem, Bender. And you can add the conditional endings to the end of that. We get Bend area. You bend area. I would come boundary is 2b Andrea's. You would come Bend area. L, Bend area. He would come Bend area. Bend area. She would come bend. Step bend area. You would come Ben Ramos. Not total spend Ramos. We would come boundary is vosotros, boundary is you would come Ben-Gurion. A Ben-Gurion. They would come and bend rayon will stay this boundary and you would come. So that's venir in the conditional tense. That's the fourth irregular. Andrea, Andrea. Andrea. Andrea, Andrea, Andrea most, Ben Reais, Ben-Gurion. Ben-gurion 8. 2f - irregular - decir, hacer: Now the next 2f irregular verbs don't quite follow the same pattern as the last ones did. You can't just replace the letter in front of the R with a D. The first is decir, which means to say or to tell. The conditional stem is DIR, D-I-R. You can add the conditional endings to that. And you get diarrhea. Diarrhea, I would say, or I would tell Darius. Darius, you would say or you would tell Didier De area, he would say or he would tell diarrhea. Diarrhea. She would say or she would tell diarrhea. Diarrhea, you would say or you would tell DDMS, nosotros, demos, we would say or we would tell DDIs, vosotros, DDIs, you will say or you would tell DBN as dram? They would say or they would tell and Darien status, DTM, you would say or you would tell. So that's decir, in the conditional. The rear Darius, diarrhea. Diarrhea. Diarrhea, diarrhea most DDIs, d1, d1. Then the next verb is assessed to make or to do. This is the last irregular verb. It shortens to H a, R in the conditional stem, and you can add the endings to that. You get aria, your area I would make or I would do areas to areas you would make, or you would do aria? Aria, he would make or he would do aria. Aria, she would make, or she would do aria. Aria, you would make or you would do at EMOs nosotros area most we would make or we would do at EIA's vosotros area is you would make or you would do at an AOC Arianne, they would make or they would do and Audion or status Arianne, you would make or you would do. So that's ADEA. Ideas. Aria, aria, aria, aria most REITs at an. So that's a sad meaning to do or to make in the conditional 9. 2g - practise with irregulars: We've just had six irregular verbs in the conditional. And I said that once you know what the stem is, we have to do then is add the conditional endings. So the first was salir, meaning to leave. And the stem is salir. Sail D are, all you've done is change the I to a D. Then air is to have, and the stem is tender. Or you have to do there is change the second E to a D. Borne air means to put, and the conditional stem is bonder. So again, we've changed the E to a D. Venir means to come. And if we change the I to a D, we get bender. So that's the conditional stem, and you can add the conditional endings onto that. Then we had the verb decir, which means to say or to tell. This stem is a bit different to the others. It's a very short stem, DIR, D-I-R. It's the same with asset, which means to do or to make the stem is HER. I want you to have the stem, or you have to do is add the conditional endings. So how would you say in Spanish, when would he come? Quandl by Andrea. Quandl Arab Andrea. What would they have? Get dendrite can get a Austin region. Where would she put that? Don't leap, Andrea. So don't they. What time would we go out? Akira cell Brianna's again. What would she say? Getarea. Get an idea. What would you do? Depending on which form of you you want to use? You could say either non the committee has known they come area. They come area is, or don't they comedian? Or if you use the subject pronouns, you will say, not only to come areas don't. They will state Commedia, non-labor sources come area is known, they will stay this comedian 10. 2h - practise with irregulars: How would you say in Spanish, where would you eat? Depending on which form of you you use? You can say, Don't they come areas? They come area. Don't they come area is or Don Day comedian. Where you can use this object pronouns and say, on day to come areas, don't, they will stay calm area. Non-labor photos, comedy is done. They will stay this comedian. How would you say, what would he order? Bdd? Yeah, KL barrier. Which cake would they try? And in Spanish, it is a witch plus a noun. You tend to use what, which is K. So let's say what cake would they try? Get data provider, you can get that at the AOSP. Robert Yan. How would you pay Comorbid? Comorbid, Comorbid, Comorbid guardian. Or if you use this object pronouns. Como two big areas. Como, who said bacteria? Bacteria is common with status by Guardian. What would they do? Arianne. As Arianne. Whom would you see? Aki in various ten, barrier. Again, barrier is again barium. Or if you use the subject pronouns, you would say again to barriers. Again instead barrier again, both across various Aki no status Varian 11. 2i - practise with irregulars: How would you say in Spanish, where would we go? Add-on? They ed amaz. I don't think it EMOs. Why would she high recall? When would they go out? Grandiose Algerian cuando as salary. And what would she try? 8e probe area. Get a a probe area. What would we say? Kdd Ahmose, get nosotros dilemma's. Whom would she tell? Alkene diarrhea. Again, a yard area. Which one would he by? A competitor? Yeah. 12. 3a - extra information: Just like with structures 12,345.6 in structure seven, there is also the optional part that you can put on the end. The extra information. The extra information words are the nouns, adjectives, and time words 6c. We can put the extra information onto the end of the question. For example, K areas CA1. So two areas connoisseur. What would you do with that? Alkyl alkyl areas in Qazi? Why would you hire a car? Add-on they EDS day by Kathy jonas. Add-on the two areas, Deborah Kathy jonas. Where would you go on holiday? Gone. So means with that when CO2 is a car and debra Cathy, honest means on holiday. Let's just add a few more extra information words that you can add to the end of your questions in structure seven. Id E means they're at GSA. Gsa means at home. Tobacco. Tobacco means at work. I'll extra hero. I'll extra hetero means abroad. Alcatel. At the hotel Madrid. Madrid. To Madrid. In Espana. In Espana. In Spain. Restaurant the restaurant. The restaurant or to the restaurant. Elbow, your elbow you means the chicken. 5b Rigo Rocco. The red coat. Wouldn't be yet. There wouldn't be yet. They a ticket. But our bedroom. But our bedroom for Pedro. Icky. Icky here. And debra Cathy onus, back as the onus on holiday. So how would you say in Spanish, What would you do with my car? Ideas can be Cauchy. Area. Area is Kamikaze, Gary, and can be Cauchy. Or you can use the subject pronouns and say, get to areas can be called J, K will stay, area can be called 8e. Gabo thought rows area is Kamikaze, get low-status Aryan Kamikaze 13. 3b - practice sentences: How would you say in Spanish, What would you buy for pedro? Pedro. Pedro. The idea is para Pedro, decompression para bedroom. Or you can use the subject pronouns and you would say, get to compare the esperar. Pedro. So far, we've only looked at structure seven in a question format. However, you can also use it in a non question. Let's just start this lesson with a quick recap of the structure in the question form. Keko Medea, get ideas means what would you eat? It's made up of K, the question word meaning what. And then the conditional web cam areas, which means would you eat? You can also add the optional third part, the extra information and say something like geico, Maria's Ristorante. Gekko Maria's Ristorante means what would you eat at the restaurant? To use this structure when you're not asking question is quite simple. You just take the question word off. For example, don't they comedian? Don't they? As comedian means where would they eat? Well, if you take the question, where it off, don't day, you're left with Chameleon. Chameleon, which means they would eat. And you can say things like comedian AKI. As comedian AKI, they would eat here. So in a question, comedian or as Canadian means what they eat. But as a non-questions comedian, as comedian means they will eat. All you have to do to change a question into a non-questions in Spanish is just removed the question marks. In speaking, you can make it sound like a question by raising your voice slightly. Comedian. Comedian means, would they eat? Whereas Chameleon, Chameleon is they would eat. Let's have a look at some more examples of non-questions in structure seven. Weberian. Weberian. They would drink oblivion competitor as oblivion bedroom. They would speak with Pedro bag Guardian La Quinta, AOSP by Guardian La Quinta. They would pay the bill. So how would you say in Spanish, she would buy something here for petro competitor? Yeah. I'll go a keypad, a bedroom. I'll go wacky. But a bedroom. They would buy some wine. I would see Maria barrier, Ahmadiyya, your barrier, and Maria 30. 6b - using this structure with other structures: We've just seen a few examples sentences in the conditional tense, in the non-questions. But you might have noticed that they don't quiet sound right by themselves. We had these sentences. Compound area, I'll go a keypad, a bedroom, a accompany. Always keep her bedroom. She would buy something here for petro. Companion, BNO as contrarian vino. They would buy some wine. Maria and Maria. You're barrier or Maria? I would see Maria. There's three sentences. Sound like they need something else after them. She would buy something here for Pedro, but they would buy some wine. What? I would see, Maria, they don't quite sound right by themselves. Well, the conditional tense is a great tense to use with the present tense that we learned in structure to and also the present perfect tense that we learned in structure for. You can add a structure to or a structure for sentence after a structure seven sentence simply by using the word battle, which means boot. For example. Compare area, all wacky but a petro, better, not DNA-DNA Laconia, an alga key, para Pedro. Better. Not the any, the narrow Cornelia. She would buy something here for Pedro, but she doesn't have any money with her. So the first part is the conditional that's telling you what she would do. And then the second part is the present tense or structure to and that's giving you the reason why she isn't doing it. She would buy something here for Pedro. A are comparing all wacky para Pedra, but she doesn't have any money with her. Better not the NAT network Cornelia, comparably amino Barrow, yeah. And maybe though there are Seattle company and be no better, yeah. And maybe Demasio though, they would buy some wine, but they've already drunk too much. So again, the first part is the conditional, telling you what they would do. And then the second part is in this sentence structure for the present perfect tense. Contrary and Vino, they would buy some wine barrel, yeah, and maybe though the mosquito, but they've already drunk too much. Barrier. And Maria better entre hockey or your barrier and Maria not Rabaa hockey. I would see Maria but she isn't working here today. So your barrier and Maria, I would see Maria, that's the conditional tense. And then better not rubber hockey or a brushy isn't working here today. That's the present tense or structure to say. You can see how structure seven can be used with structures two or four to make more complex sentences. Maria and Maria better. Notre hockey. I would see Maria, but she isn't working here today. 31. 6c - using this structure with other structures: How would you say in Spanish? I would bring some wine with me, but I'm working until 05:00 P.M. so I don't have time to go to the shop. That idea been amigo. As the last cinco. I see nothing of the ampoule by the ear at the NDA. You try area be knock-on MIGA, Estella cinco. I see nothing of the ampoule by the ear alert the NDA. So you can see this is made up of a structure seven sentence followed by two structure to sentences. I would bring someone with me, but I'm working until 05:00 P.M. so I don't have time to go to the shop. You try area amino called MIGA, better alterable whole Estella cinco as see nothing or the ampoule by the ear at the end. How would you say we would buy that at the supermarket, but it doesn't open until tomorrow. So I'll sweep America a little. Better known as domain Yana. Nosotros compare you must, SO supermarket or better known as the Manana. Again, we have a structure seven sentence, followed by a structure to sentence. We would buy that at the supermarket. Nosotros compare EMOs, SO soup, Mercado. But it doesn't open until tomorrow. They're all not every Asda manana. How would you say? I would try that but I don't like cheese. But nobody is all my boo style gesso. Your probe area, SO they don't know my Wooster gesso. Once again, we have a structure seven sentence. I would try that, followed by a structure to phrase, but I don't like cheese, your probe area, SO I would try that better. No, I boost that. It gets so, but I don't like cheese. You can see that by having learned so many structures now, we can start to use them together and form much more complex sentences that really get our thoughts and opinions across 32. 6d - yo en tu lugar - if I were you: How would you say in Spanish? I would buy something from my mom here, but everything is very expensive. I'll go Pardon me, madam key. Pedro total is McAdam. Your Campania. I'll go pardon me, mad, real key. Better total is Mercado. He would be very tired, but he slept a lot this morning. A study or we can settle better. Adult middle mutual, I start my nana and weekend saddle. Adult middle mu2 is the Mariana. I would watch the film with you, but I have already seen it. Better. Yeah. Lot 7e store your barrier labelling. Better. Yeah, lot AB store. The word contiguous means with you. You can also use conus, death, gone vosotros or Kahn who status. He would bring everything but he doesn't have a car. That I area total. They don't not the Anacostia diarrhea total, better not the inequality. Now there's another nice phrase that you can use with this structure. It's your into lugar. You into lugar. Literally it means I, your place. But in English we say, if I were you, you're into lugar. If I were you, how would you say if I were you, I would take some food to Madrid. You're into lugar to Maria Camila. You're into lugar to Maria comida and Madrid. If I were you, I would say something. You're into lugar decir algo. You're into lugar alga. Literally it means I, in your place would say something. You're into lugar algorithm. If I were you, I would say something 33. 6e - practice sentences: How would you say in Spanish, if I were you, I would bring more food for one. You're into lugar diarrhea mass comida one. You're into lugar diarrhea mass comida one. If I were you, I would start now. You're into lugar comments area our your into lugar comments area. Our we would eat at this restaurant, but there aren't any tables available. Camellia, most aesthetics talent, they better know MS. As this point needless, nosotros, Camellia most is the restaurant. They, you know, I miss us this Bernoulli's. He would finish today, but he's very tired. I Cadbury are way better than we can saddle. And a Cadbury are way better ways than we can saddle. So all of these sentences have something in common in that they start with structure seven, and then they end with structure to. The first part is the conditional. He would finish our calvaria. And then the second half is the present. He is a star. He would finish today, but he is very tired. Subarea, way. Better estimate we can set on. How would you say he would buy a souvenir first family, but he is in a hurry. Area, will require though potassium familiar, better way study plicae. Aria required, but beta2 familiar, better way study pleaser. So again, it's the conditional first, he would buy compendia or L compare area. Then we have the present tense. He is a star. He would buy a souvenir for his family, but he is in a hurry. Familiar, pairwise that they pleaser 34. 6f - practice sentences: How would you say in Spanish? Comedian, I'm it casa, mass amine noodle, better not be then set. Get me as comedian Amika mass, I'm no better. No BBN circuit me. Literally if you want to say they would eat at mine, in Spanish, you can say they would eat at my house, comedian mic ASA. And if you want to say often in Spanish, you say Amanullah. More often is mass Amanullah. How would you say we would see Miguel more often, but we don't live in Madrid. Barrier most Amiga mass, I'm a noodle. Better not be the most in Madrid, nosotros, barium or some Miguel mass Amanullah. Better not be the most a mother if she would eat something, but she isn't hungry. The diarrhea most total con nosotros, demos and train nosotros diarrhea most cannot otros better be Nemo's entrain. Once again, we have this structure seven structure to sentence. So it starts with a structure seven, meaning the conditional tense. And then it ends with structure two meanings, the present tense. So we would bring that idea most. But we're coming Pedro be Nemo's. We would bring everything with us, but we're coming by train. Diarrhea, most total. Better minimus entrain 35. 6g - practice sentences: How would you say in Spanish? Passerea when I say man IEEE told us was messes better, trabajo mucho your Passerea. When I say man, I thought this was messes better, trabajo mucho. So that's another example of that conditional in the first half of the sentence, and then the present tense in the second half. I would spend Passerea, your Passerea. But I work better than about who? Your boss area on our seminar E, total loss messes better, trabajo mucho. I would spend a week that every month, but I work a lot. And you can see how the structures are simply the verbs. I would spend, well, that's structure seven. Then I work. That's structure to. The other words are simply extra information words. So we've got nouns and adjectives. When I say manner IV, bolus was messes a week there every month. And then mucho means a lot. How would you say? I would drink the coffee, but it's cold. But even if it weren't a name in this sentence, you will still need to put the word in front of whatever or whomever you're telling. And that's because the verb this year, which means to tell, is always this year. To tell to somebody. So it's DD or maria literally, I would tell to Maria. You're into lugar. You can see we have the question words on the left-hand side, then the conditional tense in the middle. And then we've got some extra information that you can put on the right-hand side. So if you pause this lesson, grab a piece of paper, and then sketch out this outline, you can start to form your own questions using structure seven 46. 8a - turning it all negative: As always, there's one more useful thing that you can do to this structure quite easily. And that's make it negative. In English, you can change this structure from positive to negative by putting a little N apostrophe T after the word wood, for example. Why would you do that? Becomes, why wouldn't you do that? Would he stay here? Wouldn't he stay here? Would they eat this becomes wouldn't they eat this in Spanish? Or you have to do is put the word no in front of the verb. For example, oblivious to add glorious means. Would you speak in the negative that becomes not oblivious to know, oblivious. Wouldn't you speak? You can do this with any verbs in the conditional tense. For example, come areas. To come areas means would you eat? How would you turn this negative? No commodious to NOCl Maria's. Wouldn't you eat? Barrier? Lb media means what he drink. How would you say wouldn't 8e drink? Nobody? Maria Novella area. Bedelia, who stayed. Pedophilia means would you order? How would you say wouldn't you order? No idea. Who stayed, not Bedelia. Salary on a civilian means. Would they leave? How would you say, wouldn't they leave? Not Algerian as not all-region? Bend Rhea. Rhea means what does she come? How would you say, wouldn't she call them? Nobody 3a, a knob, Andrea. Beccaria, most nosotros, Pachauri Ahmose means would we pay? So how would you say wouldn't we pay? Nope, I got EMOs, nosotros, not Bulgaria most all you have to do is put the word no in front of the verb. And if you use the subject pronoun, the word NOT comes after that. For example, to no commodious. Wouldn't you eat? 47. 8b - two meanings of "would": There's a weird thing about the conditional would, in English. Sometimes in English, you might see things like this. He would go to Madrid every year. We would visit my grandmother all the time. He wouldn't do it yesterday. They wouldn't help me last week. All of these sentences are talking about the past tense, but they're using the word wood as though they are in the conditional. In Spanish, you wouldn't use the conditional to translate these sentences. If you're using word in English to talk about something that used to happen in the past. You would use the imperfect tense in Spanish. So he would go to Madrid every year. Could be said in English, as he used to go to Madrid every year. Well, in Spanish, you would use the imperfect tense and you would say IBA. And Madrid told us was annulus. Eva, and Madrid told us Los Angeles. Similarly, we would visit my grandmother all the time. You could say this in English as we used to visit my grandmother all the time. In Spanish, you wouldn't use the conditional because it's talking about the past. You will use the imperfect tense. Busy Taba most, Umea, buena, total, LTM, poor, nosotros, busy Taba most me abuela, total sample. So we used to visit my grandmother all the time. Now, if you use the word wouldn't in English to talk about something that somebody wasn't willing to do. For example, he wouldn't do it yesterday. In Spanish, you can't use the conditional tends to say this. In Spanish. You can say that they didn't want to do it in English. You could equally say he didn't want to do it yesterday, rather than He wouldn't do it yesterday. In Spanish, you would use the imperfect tense of get air. Nocturia. Nocturia, acellular. They wouldn't help me last week. Well, in Spanish, you would say literally, they didn't want to help me last week. No carrion or Udemy. Lastly, Amanda and yours. No carry and IU data may last Samantha salir. So when you use the word wood in English, but you're using it to talk about something that used to happen in the past. You use the imperfect tense in Spanish. And when you use the word wouldn't. And you mean that they didn't want to do something. Well then you use the imperfect tense of get air. And you literally say, they didn't want to do it. How would you say in Spanish? Why wouldn't you try the wine yesterday? No carriers provided no. No carrier. Probiotic Urbino in for K noch area is provide a Urbino. Now Gideon, provide albino. Literally what you're saying is, why didn't you want to try the wine yesterday? However, if you're not talking about the past, you can just use the negative conditional tense. For example. Wouldn't you help me? No, I do that as not may you diarrhea? No, IUD is no IUD. And so that's just the normal negative conditional because you're not talking about the past 48. 8c - negative questions: How would you say in Spanish? Wouldn't he make a reservation last week? Knock area. I said last time and a Passover. No carrier. I said last time menopause ADA. Because we're talking clearly about the past. Then you say in Spanish, didn't he want to make a reservation? Knock area as celebre? How would you say wouldn't he make a reservation for us? No idea about pattern sort rows. No area on either side of a pattern nosotros. This one isn't talking about the past, so you can just use the negative conditional. How would you say, wouldn't they buy something from Maria? No compression algorithm area, AOC, no compression algorithm area. So again, this one is just a normal negative conditional because it's not clearly talking about the past. It can mean, wouldn't they buy as in Wouldn't they buy something tomorrow? No contrarian algebra. Maria, how would you say why wouldn't she help? No idea, but not a huge area. So this sentence isn't clearly talking about the past. So you use the negative conditional. If you were talking about the past, then you would say in Spanish, Why didn't she want to help? For example, if you added a past tense time mark on the end, you could say, why wouldn't she help yesterday? No. Carrier you that in bore a nocturia IU data Yair. Literally, why didn't she wants to help yesterday? So it's clearly talking about the past because we have the word yesterday 49. 8d - turning non-questions negative: How would you say in Spanish, wouldn't they come with, you know, boundary and configure as no boundary and configure. Or instead of contiguous, you could say go-no stave, gone vosotros, or Canu status. And we use the negative conditional because it isn't clearly talking about the past. Is you said something like, Wouldn't they come with you yesterday? Well, then in Spanish, you can literally say, Didn't they want to come with you? No carry and venir contiguous as not Gideon, venir contig or how would you say, wouldn't 8e go to Barcelona with us? No area of Barcelona con nosotros, el nor area about its Ilona con nosotros. Wouldn't you visit Madrid? No matter if nobody see diarrhea? Madrid, Madrid. Madrid's. Now, you can also turn non-questions, conditional tense verbs, negative. Again, you just put the word no directly in front of the verb. For example, a carb area. You're Aqaba area means I would finish. In the negative, we get not a calvaria. You're not sub-area. I wouldn't finish the word camellia. Your Comitia means I would eat. How would you say I wouldn't eat? No idea. You know, Commedia. Ideas to arias means you would do. How would you say you wouldn't do? Not arias to know arias. Area. Area means he would go. How would you say he wouldn't go? No idea. No idea. And then I blurrier. And blurrier means she would speak. So how would you say she wouldn't speak? No idea. No idea? 50. 8e - negative sentences: Most nosotros compare EMOs means we would buy. So how would you say we wouldn't buy? Now compare llamas nosotros? No comparable llamas. Salary is vosotros salary is means you would leave. How would you say you wouldn't leave? Nacelle? Both others? No salaries. Salaries than a ofs salary and means they would go out. So how would you say they wouldn't go out? No salvation as Northumbrian barbarian, AOSP Rogerian means they would try. So how would you say they wouldn't try? No pro Maryann and yours? No probation. So let's practice with some sentences. How would you say in Spanish? If I were you, I wouldn't do that. Your end to lugar? No area. So your end to lugar. No idea. So he wouldn't eat the chocolate. Now Commedia De Novo Maria editorial, at day, they wouldn't spend too much money. Naca study on the mesial, the narrow as Nagar study and dema Seattle De Niro. She wouldn't call bedroom? No. Yeah, Maria I Pedro. Ada. Maria, a bedroom. She wouldn't call Pedro yesterday. Knock area, Yammer or Pedro a year. Nokia EMR or Pedro. So this sentence because it's clearly in the past since we're using the word yesterday. We have to say in Spanish, she didn't want to call Pedra yesterday and yet not Gettier. Yamato, a bedroom in 51. 8f - negative sentences: How would you say in Spanish, you wouldn't leave? No salary as not Algeria? No salary is not Algerian. I wouldn't hire it. I would buy it. No, low alkyl aria, aria, your Nano alkyl area, local malaria. We wouldn't go to Spain. Not EDM, Maasai, Espana. Nosotros know EMOs I Spanish. If I were you, I wouldn't eat that. Your end to lugar know Commedia. So you're into lugar know Commedia SO they wouldn't eat that when I offered it. Knock area and Camillo cuando la a of a CDO. Because this one is clearly talking about the past. When I offered it, you have to say in Spanish, they didn't want to eat it when I offered it as not Gideon comer lo cuando low a civil. She wouldn't work in Spain. Not Rabbi Ovadia and Espana. Ar not Rabbi Ovadia and Espana. What would you do? Good ideas. Good idea. Good idea is get Arianne, if I were you, I wouldn't visit the theater. You're into lugar know, BC diarrhea, they throw you into lugar. Know, basic idea is they are true. They would go to Barcelona every month, but they work in Barcelona. Total source messes better. Trayvon, as EDM or Barcelona told us, was messes better, Trayvon. He wouldn't make dinner. No idea. No idea. Latina?
