1. Introduction and Supplies You Will Need: Hi friends, how are you? I hope you're having a great day today. I'd like to introduce you to this project. This is a drawing and watercolor painting project that I designed, especially for kids. You do not need to have any drawing or painting experience at all to be successful with this project. I will teach you step-by-step all of the steps that you need to take to be successful. Today, we are going to be creating this cute Mommy. Let's go over the supplies and materials that you will need for this project. The first thing that you'll need is a piece of watercolor paper. You will need some watercolor paints. You will need a paintbrush and a cup or a bowl of clean water. You will need a permanent marker. Permanent means the marker will not run around if you add liquid to it. And you will need a paper towel just in case you have spills that you need to clean up. So go ahead and gather all of those supplies and materials. And I'll see you back here in the next video. 2. Step 1: Draw a Cute Mummy Design: Alrighty friends. So the first thing that we're going to do is we are going to draw our mummy and we're going to take the cap off of our permanent marker. And we're going to remember one thing. We're going to remember that we want to use this whole, entire space for our mummy design. What that means is we're not going to make little tiny mommy's about this size. We are going to make our mummies really large. So that if you are looking across the room, you will be able to see your mommy design. So keep that in mind as you are creating. So the first thing that we're going to do is we're going to go to the top half of our piece of paper and we're going to make a circle right here at the top. So if you are looking at your piece of paper and you see the mid-line about right here. You're going to use this space up here to make your circle. So I'll go ahead and make a nice big circle. Remember, if your circle is not perfect, that's okay. That actually makes it a little bit more fun. My circle is not perfect either. Alright, the next thing that we're going to do is we're going to make our mummies body at the bottom half of our piece of paper. And so we're going to come down from this circle in what we're going to do is we're going to make a line. If it has a little bit of a curve in it, That's okay. We're going to come down. We're going to make a foot and a leg. Another foot and a leg. And then we're going to come back up. Now this is one big old long line, isn't it? I didn't pick up my marker at all. Your line might look different than mine, but as long as your mommy has two legs and two feet, That's all the counts. That's all that you need to worry about. Alright? The next step is we're going to make some arms and hands. We're going to come to this point right here where these two lines meet. And we're going to come out with a curved line like this and then come back in. And then same thing on this side. If one of your arms is shorter than the other, That's okay. Don't worry about that. That makes it look a little bit more fun. Alright, so now we have the basic shape of our head and our body, of our Mommy. What we're going to do now is we're going to come back up to the top part to our Headspace. And we are going to make just a little small area where our Mommy can see through his bandages. So you're going to come a little bit below the midline of your circle. And you're going to make a slightly curved line like this. Now, you're going to move down just a little bit on this side and a little bit on this side. And you're going to make another curve line going the other way like this. So do you see this space right here? This is the space where your eyes are going to be for your money. So you can make whatever type of eyes that you like, make sure that they're pretty much far spaced. That means that they're not too close together. I'm going to make a type of eye that looks like this with a little bit of an eye underneath like that. So it's almost like an eyebrow or an eyelid, I guess I should say. And then his eyes down here. Just like that. And I'm going to make just a very small smile. Okay? Then I'm going to fill in this space with black, my block, a monster. There we go. I think I'm going to extend this line out just a little bit. Okay. So there's the face of my mommy and this is the body. So what we're going to do now is we're going to start putting the bandages on our Mommy. Let me show you how to make the bandages. So we're going to go above this line right here, this one. And we're going to make another line that looks similar to our first-line, only it's going to be a little bit above. Now we're going to continue making lines. But instead of making lines go from one side all the way to the other, some of the lines you're going to break up into smaller lines like this. So you might want to put one here. You might want to put one here, but they're all going to be slightly curved like this and this will create a space that looks like bandages. Okay. Do you see how that works? So I'll put one here. I'm just going with what I feel might look good. Now I'm going to add a few bandages down here at the bottom. So I'll make a curve line. Then I will make another line right here. Alright. So go ahead and continue on with the body and filling in lines on the body to make it look like bandages. And just using the same technique that I showed you up here. When you get to the arms, we're going to make our lines going this way. Let me just show you really quickly. So you just make your lines coming this way as opposed to going across that way. Okay, So just like this, just whatever looks good to you, sounds good. Alright, I'm going to take a moment to do that. And you can take a moment to do that as well. And I'll see you back here in just a minute. Alrighty friends. So the last thing that we're going to do is we're going to put a little bit of our wrap coming out of the bottom right here because that's the end part of the rap that wrapped around the mummy. When we come back in the next video, we are going to paint our mummies face and the background. So I will see you back here in the next video. 3. Step 2: Paint the Design: In this video, we are going to paint the face of our mummy and the background. So let's get started. The first thing that we're going to do is we're going to put one or two drops of water in each pan of paint. And what that will do is it will soften up our paint a little bit, so it will be easier for us to use. So let me do that really quickly. That's a really important step. Now, I'm going to turn my attention to my mommy drawing. I am going to choose to paint my mommy's face a very, very light green. Make sure that you choose a color to paint your face. A lighter color so that you can see the eyes and the mouth. With my background. I think I'm going to choose a purple because that reminds me of Halloween. And mommy's, if you want to choose orange or a different color that reminds you of Halloween, you can go ahead and do that. So I'm just going to get started on that. Let me show you how to lighten up a color are pretty light so that you'll be able to see the black. If I painted with migraines straight onto my piece of paper, it might be a little bit too dark and I might not be able to see my eyes through the paint. So I want to make sure that I add some paint with some water together. So my color is pretty light. That's pretty light. I like that color. And remember, I'm not painting on the bandages. The bandages are these areas right here that are going to stay white because those are bandages on our mummies. So let me get started painting this with my green. Now that I'm finished painting the face of my mommy, I'm going to start painting the background. And like I said before, I think I'm going to use a purple. And I might even add a little bit of blue. I haven't decided yet. So I'm going to go ahead and speed up the video and you can watch me and it'll go very quickly because I'm going to speed this up. And I'll see you back here in just a minute. Alrighty friends, I'm back and I'm really happy with the way that my little mummy turned out. So I hope that you had fun with this project. I will see you next time. 4.
