1. Introduction : So. Hi, buddy. In today's class, we're going to learn something
very bit sized with you. We're going to learn about 70 different
Procreate gestures which are going to make your
work smoother and quicker. If you're not familiar
about Procreate, Procreate is an
incredible software which you are going
to use on your iPad. And if you don't know me,
my name is Hasakatar. I'm an artist, illustrator,
and an animator. So I cannot wait to share this very bite sized
class with you. I also got a quick handout
for you guys to download. You can also use
my hithet handbook that you can use at anytime
along with your class. And I've also got
some amazing freebies for you guys to download. So let's jump right into it. See you in the glass. Bye bye.
2. What you need : Oh. Hello and welcome
to the class. Let's jump right into it. But before we get started, let me tell you that we are going to be using Apple Pencil, iPad, and appropriate software. Other than that, the project for you guys for this
class is to create an artwork on the basis of implementation of any of the methods which I'll be
teaching you in this class. I want to see what you
guys create mostly. I just want to show your
work because there's nothing like coming together as a community in this
creative space. So let's jump right into it. See you then. Bye bye.
3. Gallery: All right. The first
section that I want to talk to you guys about
is the gallery section. What you can do from here? First off, is the quick preview. You can quickly review any
of your canvases simply by pinching out with two fingers on any canvas in the gallery. Once the preview is open, you can simply swipe to review projects by swiping to
the right or to the left. Something to note about here is, if you do swipe within a stack, it's going to open each individual artwork
within a stack. Now, once you are
open, if you want to close your quick preview, just pinch with two fingers
towards the center, so basically pinch back
in and it will take you right into the stack rather
than to the main gallery. Now, suppose if you want to work on any
of these canvases, just click on any of
the project and here all the tools gestures of the Procreate interface
will come up over here. The other option to do is go
back to the main gallery and suppose if you're just pinching
out and you're swiping right here and going
through the projects, and now you decide that you want to work on any
of the projects, just simply double tap it. Here you can see that the project interface
has come up over here and you can do
the artwork right here. Now you can select
multiple projects by going to the Select
tool from here and just simply tapping on
each of the projects and you can see all the
projects have got selected. Now, if you want
to combine them, just simply tap
and drag anywhere and you can see all
the projects have been combined. Just release it. Let's just again, select
all of the projects. Now if you want
to deselect them, just simply go exactly the same way like
you have selected. Now you can rearrange projects simply by tapping
and holding and dragging in between any of these projects to rearrange
them in your gallery. You can create stacks,
as you may have noticed, I've got multiple projects
within one stack, and that is the greatest
way to organize your files and your projects if
you happen to work on multiple projects at a time. Now, to create a
stack, there are basically two ways
you can do that. The first one is to
select the projects, you can select multiple projects and just click on this option, stack, you can see the
stack has been created. Now, the other way
to create a stack is by selecting any
other projects, suppose if I select
this one and I go into this project and I just release it and you can see
the stack has been created. Similarly, if I want this
project to be in this stack, I will just tap and hold, drag into this and it
opens up the stacks. You can see and I will release it and it will be a
part of this stack. So you can see all
the three projects are right here in the stack. That's how you create a
stack in two different ways. Now, to remove a
project from a stack, simply hold that project, go over to stack, and it's going to open up your
gallery and simply release it. Now you're going to see
that it has appeared into your gallery and has
been removed from the stack. You can also share duplicate
or delete projects. By going to the Select tool, you can select any
of the projects. You can do this in bulk setting, or you can select only one and you can see different
options have appeared like shared
duplicate and delete. That's how you select
multiple projects, or you can select only the individual project to share duplicate and
delete the projects. Now we'll move on into some main workflow gestures and I'll see you in the
next video. Bye bye.
4. Workkflow: Now we will move on into
some main workflow gestures. As you can see that I have
a canvas open right here. We'll begin with by zooming in. To zoom in, just pinch out with two fingers
anywhere on the canvas. Now, to zoom out, just pinch back in
with two fingers. Now, to snap back into
the actual frame, just pinch in with two fingers, and that's the actual
frame which has appeared. To enter into the
full screen mode, just staff with four fingers and you can see all the
bars have been removed. Now to exit from the
full screen mode, all you have to do is again tap four fingers and all
the bars will appear. Now to rotate with two fingers, all you have to do
is tap and hold with two fingers and you
can just pinch in, pinch out, to zoom in, rotate, all the
fun, you can do it. Now, if you want to
move the slider, all you have to do
is drag out first and you can move to the top and bottom and you can adjust
according to the height. Now, if you want to move
the slider to the right, all you have to do
is go to actions, go to preferences, and you can just switch on
into right hand interface, and that's how the slider
will move to the right. Now to invoke quick menu, all you have to do
is go to Actions, go to Gesture Controls, and here is the
quick menu option. You can play around with
the settings right here. I have already a quick
menu option available. You can tap on done and
what you have to do is just click on
this little square, which is between the sliders and here the quick menu
option will appear. Now here are some more options. You can play around with all the quick menu
options you want in your screen if you want to play around
with all the settings, you can also change here the actions which you want
in the Quick menu option. All right. Now, let's say
you have created some marks, which you did it by accident
and you want to undo it. Now to undo it, just stab two fingers and you can undo it. To redo them, just tap three fingers and you can see all the actions
will come back again. To wrap it undo, just stack two fingers and hold them until all the
actions have disappeared. Now to wrap it redo, take three fingers and hold, and you can see all the
actions have appeared again. Now, if you want to clear layer, just use three
fingers and scrub on the screen as going to clear whatever is on that
particular screen. Now, let's suppose you want to copy and paste a
portion or an item. All you have to do is to be on a specific layer you
want to copy or paste. Now, you have to use
three fingers and swipe down and that will
invoke the copy paste menu, along with the cut paste menu. You can create a straight line by creating a stroke and holding a pencil and you will see a perfect straight
line has appeared. You can also create a
straight line Hold it and take your finger and
just hold on your screen. Now if you rotate
the straight line, it will rotate into 15 degree increments all
around the screen. The same thing goes
for shames as well. If you want to create
a perfect square, all you have to do is draw
a square and hold it down. You can see that the
square is not perfect, but if I take my finger
and hold it down, it snaps into a perfect square. Also, if I rotate it, it rotates into 15
degree increments. Now the same thing goes
for circle as well. If I draw circle
and just hold it, you can see that clearly the
circle shape is not clear, but if I hold my finger, it turns into a perfect circle. Now, let's suppose you have
created a selection and now you want to move it without
getting that part unselected. What you can do is go to this little arrow and now you can see rectangular
box has come up. Now you can move it by dragging up and down
anywhere on the screen. That selection has
already been selected. All right. You can use split
screen option in Procreate. First of all, you have to
make sure that the app you are going to use is
open in the background. Now, let's suppose I want to
use Pinterest application. I will open the app first. After it is opened, I'll
go back to my Procreate. And now I will swipe up a
little arrow has appeared, and now the Pinterest
app icon is right here. Now what you have to do is tap and hold the spintrst icon, and I will go drag right
here and I will release it. Now you can see the split
view option has appeared. You can also adjust your
split screen ratio with this little slider and you can just hold and drag to the
left or to the right, depending on what
you want to work on. Now, let's suppose you want to exit from the split view option. You can see these three
dots right here, tap on it, and you can click on close and you will be returned on your main
Procreate interface. All right, let's talk layers
now in the next video. See you then, bye bye.
5. Layers: Oh let's draw layers now. To lock a layer, simply go
onto that specific layer, swipe left and you will see
the lock option will appear. You tap on it and you will
see the padlock has appeared. Now, to unlock a layer, simply swipe left again and you will see the unlock
option will appear. That's how you lock or
unlock a specific layer. Now, to organize your layers, all you have to do is go to your layers panel and
you can select any of the layers you want to organize
whether you want to move up or down as pair requirements,
and you can release it. You will see that
the layer will be organized as per the
selection you have done. Let's suppose you want
to group a layer. To group a layer, all
you have to do is go to the layer panel and you can select any of the layers
which you want to group, like swipe to the right. This way, the layer
will be selected and you can select
multiple layers like this and you can just
select on the group option. This way, you can see a nice little group
has been created. The another way you can
create a group is by just selecting a layer first and hovering
it to another layer, and then just releasing it and you can see a nice little
group has been created. This way, you can create a
group in two different ways. Now, let's suppose you
want to merge layers. To merge a layer,
all you have to do is just take two fingers and the first finger should
be on the top and the second finger will be at the layer which
you want to pinch. If I want to pinch and
merge these two layers, I'll just pinch them
together and you can see both the layers
have been merged. Now, if you want
to delete a layer, simply swipe left
and you can see the red option delete
has appeared and you can tap on it and the
layer will be deleted. Now, if you want to adjust the opacity without having
to go all into the settings, all you need to do is
just a two finger tap on the specific layer and this
opens the opacity option. Now you can play around
with the opacity, you can drag to the
left or to the right. Now, if you want to select all the contents
on a specific layer, all you have to do is
with the two finger tap, two finger hold, and you can see the contents have been selected
for that specific layer. If you want to bring
up the layer menu, simply go into the
layers and tap on the specific layer and you can see the layer
options have appeared. Now, you can select
and play around with all the settings which you want to do on that specific layer. Let's suppose if I want
to alpha lock the layer, Alpha log means you want to do some edits or drawings only on this specific layer rather
than the whole canvas. All you have to do is
with the two finger, just side to the right and you can see the checker
board has appeared. Now, if you do any of
the drawings here, only the layer which you have apoged will be affected
rather than the whole canvas. Now, if you want to
isolate one layer, all you have to do is go to the layer panel and
just tap and hold this white box and you can see all the layers will be turned
off except this one layer. Now, if you want to
bring them back, again, tap and hold this white box and all the layers
will be appear again. Let's say you want to copy
one of the layers from the layer panel and
you want to paste it into one of the
projects in the gallery, all you have to do
is just tap and hold one of the layers you want to
copy and go to the gallery. You can select any of
the projects in which you want the layer to
be pasted and selected, and now you can release it. You can see that
specific layer has been copied and you can also
see in the layer panel. That was all about the layers. Now let's talk presius
into next video. See you then per page.
6. Brushes: Oh. Let's talk brushes now. If you need a precise
brush adjustment, all you need to do is go
to your brush slider and tap and drag this brush
slider and move up and down, and you can see that there are smaller movements to
the sizes of the brush, rather than moving directly
from here up and down. This gives you the accurate
size of the brush setting, if you tap and drag
the brush slider. The same goes with
opacity as well. You can tap and drag the
brush slider and you can move up and down and adjust your opacity according
to your requirements. Now, if you want to
organize your brushes, just go to your brush
panel and the brushes will appear and then grab any of the brushes which
you want to organize. Suppose if I want this
brush to be right at the bottom or
anywhere in between, then I will just tap and hold this brush and I
will release it. You can see that this brush
will appear right here. Then the same goes
with the brush sets as well if you want to
organize your brush sets, if I want this power brush set, then you can tap and hold anywhere you want the
brush set to appear. Suppose if I want it to be here, I will just tap and
hold and release it and power pack brush
set will appear. Now let's suppose you want
to create a new brush set. All you want to do is
just pull it down and a plus symbol will appear
here and just tap on it, and that's how you
create a new brush set. Then if you want to
create a new brush, make sure you are on
the correct folder of the brush set and then just
tap this little plus sign, and you can see the brush studio will appear where all the
brush settings are there, tab done, and you can see the untitled
brush has appeared. That's the new brush
you have just created. Now, you can also share
any of the brushes by swiping to the left and you can see three
options have appeared. Share duplicate and delete. This way, you can
either share the brush, duplicate the brush,
or delete the brush. You can also share the
brush set by simply tapping on one of the brush sets and you can see you
can either share, delete, rename and
duplicate the brush sets. Now let's suppose if
you want that the same brush you have chosen for your brush to appear on
your eraser tool as well. What you want to do is
just simply tap and hold this eraser and you can see that the same brush has appeared
for the eraser as well. Now you can just
use the same brush. The same goes with the
smudge tool as well. You can tap and hold
the Smudge tool and the same brush will appear
on the Smudge tool as well. That was all about brushes. Now we will move into
color in our next video, see you then till
then bye bye. Yeah.
7. Color: Let's move into colors. Color drop is really easy. All you can do is just
go to color Section, pick a color, and let's
suppose take this green color. Now what you have
to do is just tap and hold and drag this
color and release it. And you can see the color
will fill the whole canvas. Now you can also adjust with a color threshold of the color. Now let's suppose if I want
to draw a shape like this and now if I just fill the
color with the color drop, you can see that it is not
getting properly filled, but if I undo and
now if I just dragon hold and I hold the color
right and if I drag right, you can see all the unfilled
pores are getting filled. This way, you can adjust
with the color drop. Now let's say I want to
draw different shapes like again circle and I want to fill this
with green color, then I want to change the color. Let's suppose this color
and I want to draw a different shape
again, fill this color. Now if I want to go
back to this color, what you have to
do is just tap and hold this color and you can see the little circle will
appear and just release it and you can see that the same green
color will appear here. Now you can again work
around with this color. Now, to create a color palette, all you need to do is go
into a color interface. You should see this by default, but we will go into
the palette section, which is the bottom
right option right here, tap on it, and you can see different color
palettes will appear. But for now, we will go
into this little plus sign. Tap on it and you can see
different options will appear like create new color palette from camera, file and photos. But for now, we will be creating a new color palette and
we'll be clicking on this option and you can see that a new palette has just been created with the
titled untitled. You can organize your
color palettes by selecting them and holding them the same way you organize your
brushes and brush sets, you can organize your
color palettes as well. Now to add a new color
to your palette, make sure you have the
color selected already. And then you have to do is
just tap on this little square and you will see
that a new color is just created in
your color palette. Then again, you can
select a different color, like suppose I have
chosen this blue color, go to your color palette and
just tap on it and you can see the other color has
just been autopopulated. Likewise, you can create
your own color palette and just customize them
according to your requirements. Now to rearrange or
organize your colors, what you have to
do is just click one of the color
and you can drag and move around anywhere you
want the color to appear. This way, you can organize your colors within
a color palette. You can also delete colors from the palette by just
tapping and holding, and you can see
the option appear, delete swatch and you can
just tap on it and you can see that this color
has been deleted. You can also share a color
palette by simply tapping on the little three dots and you can click on
the Share button. The same way, you
can also delete the color palette
by just clicking on the three dots again
and you can delete or duplicate the color
palettes as pair requirements. Now, let's say you want
to get a true color, go back to the disc and you suppose you want
a true white color. It's really difficult to get this true white color right from here by dragging and finding
the white color right. But here's a short trick, just double tap on this color and you can see the
perfect white will appear. The same goes with
the black as well. Just double tap on the color and you can see the
perfect black will appear. The same goes with
the blue as well. Just double tap
on it and you can see the perfect true
right color will appear. The same goes with
any other colors, you can play around with
the colors on the disc. Now, if you want to get even more specific with your colors, you can just pinch out and you can zoom
in on the color wheel. This way you can be more
specific with the color options. Let's suppose if you
want to zoom back out, just take two fingers
and pinch back in. This way, the colors
will appear back into the disc and you can play
around with the colors. That was all about colors. Join me in the next video
to grab your download. I'm really excited for
you to get your hands on this one. See you then. Bye bye.
8. Project Work: Everybody. Now, the project
for this class is, I want you guys to create
an amazing artwork based on the implementation of any of the methods which you have
learned in this class, and I want you to share in this creative spork space
because I want to see it. Everybody wants to see it. And for the next steps, I also have appropriate dreams
animation course, which is a big one and friendly course where I'll be teaching you everything
about the animation and bring your
illustrations to life. For those who don't know
about Procreate Dreams, it's an animation
software which was recently launched by the
Procreate team last year. All right, the Procreate
Dreams BgnerFriendly course covers all the basic
techniques about animation, easy follow along lessons, and I also have amazing freebies and downloadable
resources and macos. So keep learning,
keep implementing. See you in the class. Bye bye.
