Starting the year with an altered book as part of an art journal.  I've got lots of creative interests, mostly fiber related, but working with paint and paper and "traditional" art mediums are not something I'm comfortable or skilled in.  I'm giving myself permission to just play.

Ironically, the book I found yesterday to start this project was a beautiful old book of American History that I picked up for $5.  Yesterday turned out to be a tough day here in the US, and I felt that my first entry set the stage perfectly.  I'm hoping I can take a few classes here to improve my lettering skills, which are woefully lacking, but in the meantime, it's the expression that counts.
