Sparrow Hunt : Scene 1 screenplay

SPARROW EYE

Scene 1 — The Abandoned Room

FADE IN:

INT. ABANDONED ROOM – EVENING

A long-abandoned room.

Dust covers the floor. Broken furniture lies scattered around. Torn curtains move gently as wind enters through a half-open window.

A loose ceiling fan turns slowly.

SOUND: CREEEEEEAK...

A small sparrow enters through the broken window.

It flies around the room, briefly landing on an old wooden table.

A tiny photograph lies beneath a layer of dust.

The sparrow tilts its head.

Suddenly—

THUD!

A sound comes from somewhere inside the room.

The sparrow freezes.

Silence.

A drop of water falls from the ceiling.

TIK... TIK... TIK...

At the far end of the room, an old wooden cupboard stands slightly open.

The camera slowly moves towards it.

Inside the darkness—

TWO TINY SHINING EYES.

Motionless.

Watching.

The sparrow notices them.

It slowly turns its head towards the cupboard.

CLOSE ON: SPARROW'S EYES.

The sparrow makes a soft chirping sound.

No response.

A sudden gust of wind pushes the cupboard door further open.

CREAAAAK...

The two shining eyes disappear.

The sparrow flies towards the cupboard.

Before it reaches the cupboard—

CUT TO BLACK.

SOUND: One soft chirp.
